Andrea Pirlo.....Underated?

I love Pirlo so much, hehehhe..

and i think he is not underated...

judging pirlo based on the number of goals he scored is like measuring how many tackles Ronaldo made in a game.

Football Focus is a weekly soccer talk show on ESPN Star Sports (South East Asia). 4 pundist sit and talk 95% abt EPL and litle bit abt Other leagues and Champions League.

In CL they only highlight the matches which involve Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. B4 the semi final b/w Milan and Man Utd those pundits said that Man Utd's young players will out class Milan the aging players of ACM C.Ronaldo will make Maldini look like an OLD FOOL, Rooney will be too HOT to handle by OLD (????) NESTA Scholes will run the show, Carrick will just sit deep and distribute the ball.

And when it came to ACM midfield discussion, they said "Kaka' is the only danger there, He is ther play-maker (?????) if Man Utd stoped him, thats it, the match is in the bag for Unitd and we r going 2 c an all English Final ( )"

They didn't even take the name of Pirlo and Seedorf. If THIS is not under-rating someone, then what is the meaning of 'under-rating' ???

Carrick (a 2nd class player) will run the show and How abt the WC winner Pirlo ???? They totally under-ratted him. That is pathetic This is EXACTLTY the attitude which make me SICK of the OVER-RATTED English clubs (nothing personal)

In the Pre-match discussion of the CL final, again I had to listen their absolutely ridiculous thoughts Again they said that Macherano will take Kaka our of the game, Alonso will just sit back and distribute the ball and THE LEGENDARY STEVE-G will run the show.
And when it came to Pirlo, they said that fellow plays mostly in his own half and can't score so he is not a big danger

If this is NOT under rating one of the best midfielders of the modern era then I will never underdatand the meaning of 'under rating' some one.

There is nothing worse in football when a stupid-foolish man (suppose to be a soccer pundit) appears in ur TV screen and talks abt the qulities (I don't know which ones) of Beckham, Gerrard, Febregas, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Alonso, Sissoko, C.Ronaldo and Gilberto Silva and neglect the likes of Pirlo, Seedorf, Ambrosini, Nedved, Camronesi, Stankovic, Perrotta, De Rossi, Tadai & Mancini. It just makes ur TV screen the most hatd thing for u at that particular instant of time

He is one of the best player in WC2006 and just because Milan didn't do too well in Seria A in 2006/2007, he suddenly become a shadow of his former self.

Pirlo a goal scorer?
Well, may be if you mean his count of free kicks in the goal have diminished then yes, but don't rely on a DM to score goals all the time, man he got a freakin goal with his head in the CL! I call that an accomplishment

If he's a DM he doesn't tackle much!
He doesn't get many asists these days!
And he doesn't score many goals either (FK's or open play)!

I thought he was great once but now he's becoming rubbish

Pirlo isn't underrated. Everyone compliments him all the time. At times more than he should be.

those people r totally biased and i dont consider them football pundits at all.
italian clubs especially milan have been outclassing the english clubs throughout the history yet the english fans still insist that epl is the best leage in the world, i remember all media were always ignoring milan as it were a piece of cake. did u remember kuyt saying i am anticipating a historic match vs manu after they beat chelsea amd milan was gonna play against manu the next day.
as far as Pirlo's rating by the media is conserned ,yes he has been underrated.
i consider him as a creative midfielder, he isnt at all a DM, cuz his job isnt to assist milans defence as gattuso does. he isnt an attacking midfielder either.he keeps the game flowing for milan.he hasnt been in his peaks this season and u cannot judge him by his performance in this season.
He is the best midfielder in the world, his opponents may say that he is not but they cant deny that he does his job in the best way possible for Milan and italia.

Yes its no doubt that English clubs get more praise and more T.V time then Italian sides. If you watch any Soccer highlight show you will probably see that the Premier league highlights come first.

The reason for this I believe is that people think that the premier league has better soccer and therefore better players.

By getting all this attention, Premier league players do not go under the radar like Serie A players do. If you go up to any soccer analyst and ask them.….who is better, Steven Gerrard or Andrea Pirlo. Now the common response would be Steven Gerrard. But say that the Serie A switched places with the Premier league and the Serie a got all the attention. Would some people’s responses change? If you asked who was better, Milan or Chelsea? Again would responses be different if the Serie A had the spotlight?

Would the likes of Pirlo, Stankovic, Gattuso, Camaronesi, Viera etc. be recognized as premier players in the world if again Serie A had the spotlight.

Now I know I might be sounding a bit repetitive with all these examples but I think everything I am saying makes sense.

Serie A soccer and players are not respected enough and if they get a chance to show the world what they can do the Serie A could easily be the most respected and dominant league that there is in the world of soccer.

He is definately UNDERRATED outside of the Serie A. I know if you
ask fans of La Liga and EPL, many won't even mention him as a bench
player for some of the best MF in Europe.

But fellow Rossoneri, we know we have the real deal in Pirlo.
He is a class act, with great touch, vision, outstanding FK taker, and spacing.

He's not all that underrated, just like previous post mentioned, outside of seria a he is but trust me to any milan fan he's god.

Sorry but to say that you must be joking.

prilo is my favourite player. i dont want to sound contraversial, but in italy they love him...but the english pundits wont mention him, and this is typical english behavior....it just makes me laugh these days. anyway, look at the facts, world cup winner, 2 times champions league winner, scudetto winner, coppa italia winner.....anyone would be a fool not to pay the respect he's owed
