I hope these rumors about our transfer market ending are wrong.
We NEED an offensive midfielder and a striker (preferably a physically strong one), and would have good use of a central defender (Darmain seems to be stepping up for that role) and a class GK (not going to happen, since we bought Abbiati.)
If Berlusconi cant give us A LOT of money, then we could opt to sell…
Dida earns € 4M, and is benched. Favalli €2M, Simic 1.8, Brocchi 1.5.. these are all close to useless players for us. I see Dida as the one we need to replace the quickest - he is paid too much. with flamini in our team we can get rid of Brocchi... with darmain we can sell Simic....

I think Galliani is full of doubts about Etoò and R10.
Why? Barca now has decided to eliminate 3 great players such Deco, R10 and Etoò - Gaurdiola has been very clear about this point - as soon as possible. (Ok, this is a real detriment for the culè and it is here that cynically Galliani is waiting in order to reduce further on the prize). But is growing a big question point: is it possible that a great team such Barca lets to leave 3 of the best players in Europe? Again: especially for Etoò, who has been already ignored by Real 4 years ago, and now again is rejected by Barca. What does it mean? I think now in via Turati aren't so sure about the Cameroun boy.
according to me, this could be the AC Milan reality now , plus obviously the counted money to act and the absolute necessity to do the right thing, because he definitely must not fail this time .

About Cassano, I heard a comment of an old journalist:

The 25-year-old is undoubtedly one of Italy’s most naturally-gifted players, and following a couple of years where his career seemed to go off the rails, he last season lit up Serie A while on loan at Sampdoria.

Cassano has just recently signed for Sampdoria on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, however he has a minimum fee release clause in his contract of just €15m.

Earlier this week Tuttosport reported that Juventus were considering making a move for the forward as they plan to find a long-term replacement for Alessandro Del Piero, who will turn 34 later this year.

The same newspaper says that AC Milan and Inter have now also entered the running to sign the skilful attacker.

"He would be a bargain for Juve, Inter, Milan and any great team,” said Eugenio Fascetti, the coach who launched Cassano’s career at Bari.

Inter are prepared to hand Sampdoria both Robert Acquafresca and Francesco Toldo as part of the deal to sign the former Roma man. Milan meanwhile could also decide to include players in part exchange.

Nevertheless it seems likely at this stage that Cassano will choose to stay at Samp for one more year, before moving to a big club in the summer of 2009.

goal.crap. Don't know how he'd fit out tactics but thats a problem i'm willing to deal with!... Personally I think cassano would do best here. We have mostly model citizens and respected players. Maldini, gattuso, pippo etc would not stand for his tantrums. Sadly the article really says nothing of milan actually having interest

I can deal with his explosive temper... he seem to have it pretty well under control in the game against France when he was chopped down in several fouls. Yeah most article titles on goal.com are grossly misleading.

DIDA peticularly is ridiculous.....and it only adds up to 71.5, where as it says 120 mil. can some1 explain this? Multiple sites all report our wage bill is 120 mil, so i dont see why thats wrong..

i actually think ancelotti is type of manager best suited to manage him.

Mourinho as good as he is, is like capello. doesnt take ****, benches you, is condicending. definately gets results but i dont think that style would work in long haul w/ cassano (aka some major bust up within a year or so)

Adriano is a left sided player who is equally adept at full back or in a wide midfield role, and he has impressed greatly since signing for Sevilla from Coritiba in 2005.

The 23-year-old has attracted the interest of a number of top European clubs, and there have been rumours in the press that one of these are Italian giants Inter Milan.

Adriano has admitted that there has been contact with other clubs, and while refusing to confirm that Inter have been in touch, he did say that it is his dream to one day play under Jose Mourinho.

"My agent is dealing with my future," said the Rojiblancos star.

"I know that there is contact with other clubs, but I cannot confirm that among these there is also Inter.

“One day I would like to be trained by Jose Mourinho, one of the best coaches in the world.

According to Turkish sports daily Fotospor, Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are observing Galatasaray's star 21-years old midfielder Arda Turan. After his two goal performance and display of play-making abilities in the group stage of EURO 2008, Arda began to appear on the radar of many big European clubs.

Most recently the young Turkish national was being scouted by Arsenal which is said to have a 12 million euros offer rejected by Galatasaray. However, recent rumors linking AC Milan with a 20 million euros offer and Juventus with a 10 million euros plus Almiron in exchange for Turan have Galatasaray executives rethinking their strategy.

In conversation with Gazzetta dello Sport, Galliani revealed he had held talks with Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi about the cash crisis.

"The ownership of Milan has always brought certain responsibilities and will continue to do so. It's no coincidence that we're facing a revenue loss of about £30 million due to the non-qualification for the Champions League," said Galliani.

"The club has always thought big and continues to do so. Berlusconi has always left me with a great deal of autonomy in management. That is why I say that the choice not to go shopping mad is absolutely mine. There are significant economic reasons that have led us to reflect.

"I am not exaggerating when I say now that Italian football is in fourth place in Europe behind England, Spain and Germany. Unfortunately we can no longer compete for certain players.

"The fate of our football will continue to suffer unless we change things."

Galliani added: "I still believe this Milan will be competitive with the signings of Mathieu Flamini and Gianluca Zambrotta, plus the return of Marco Borriello, Christian Abbiati and Luca Antonini, in addition to promoting Matteo Darmian."

i'm just embarassed by galliani's comments.... i dont know what else to say. For a club of such 'class'. These are very classless statements. I also find it very disrespectful to the fans. Milan charge some of the highest ticket prices. Highest pricing merchandising etc. The fans then should expect a high priced competitive product. Something they havent really seen in over 2+ seasons of serie A matches now.

I look to the ManUtd. A team who is DEEP in the red, however there owner will give them what they need to stay on top. Because thats the only way you get out of depth. By WINNING and grossing more revenue. ManUtd's dept is well into the 100mil of ppounds too. not 30 mil euros. Thats something 2 good seasons can clear.

The thing about sports ownership is, it RARELY draws a direct profit. Its profit is in value of club. The more money it makes the higher its valued so that when its sold you have made 300mil or whatever maybe.

The sad part is 3 more good signings this club can win serie A.

I agree with u and I think u also answered u own question. Berlu will never sell Milan and thats why it is important for him to keep the club to not go into deep red.

The thing that pisses me off is that Galliani comes out, shouts and decalres to the WHOLE world that we are GOING to sign a WORLD CLASS striker, for sure! Stupid statements like 180% done deal...

Then he comes out and say everyone is too expensive... What did he expect? Go to Chelsea, Barca or Arsenal and say "hey guys, we want your best striker, and we have 5 million to spend!"

If we didn't have money, should have shut his mouth and not make Milan look a Serie B side...

If Berlu wants Milan to stand on it's own 2 feet, then why give players like Dida 4mil per year, why keeps players over the hill, sell some players to make some money, and run it more like a business rather than a 'family home for over the hill players"... sell players if they are underperfomring, etc etc...

Sorry for the outburst and off topic comments... just frustrated reading galliani's statements...

I think the media is exaggerating certain things he is saying. We certainly have more money and I think people should stop criticizing Milan management as heavily as they are doing. Milan is in fact having one of the most active transfer seasons of any club I know, and not only that we retired like four our players. Yes I will have an outburst too, at the inappropriate nature of certain comments directed at management.

Yes, I am one of the few who defends the management here more actively than others, but I feel I have a case.

ManU has more debt than any ticket sales and other revenues can cover, and their debt is growing not shrinking according to recent reports. I hear its about 240 million euros. It's going to be unmanageable.

galliani is just so classless and clueless....
