At this point I personally would like to see Schweinsteiger, Eto'o or Adebayor, Zapata...

As far as three keepers we should have...

A new keeper, Abbiati (2nd), Kalac (3rd). No Dida.

welp... if we are talking fantasy, assuming we have the signings we already have...If I ran milan....
so far we r up around 15 mil between loan deals and sales....

i would sell borriello (16 mil) sell simic (4 mil) sell brocchi (1.5 mil). sell abbiati (7 mil), sell oddo (5 mil), sell janku (5 mil) cut dida for free... total of say....50-55 mil when all is said and done....

use the money sign huntelaar (pay 25) and ronaldinho (prob 25 as well). Sign boruc (12 mil). I would use our 2 nonEU spot on hernanes (15 mil) and thiago silva (10 mil). finally buy grosso for lb who lyon hav staed 7 mil for. (not top choice cause of age... but he is class and at his age, would be a deal)

thats 90+ spending... i know its ALOT but we deserve it. also consider we've sold over 50 mil of players, so really we're asking for 40 ml in investments. Less than most clubs are spending.... MY milan would look like this

-------------huntelaar--------------- (inzaghi)

---------kaka------ronaldinho------- (pato)

-----seedorf---pirlo---gattuso-------- (hernanes, flamini, ambro, emerson)

-grosso--maldini--nesta--zambrotta-- (antonini, kalatze, thiago silva, bonera, abate, favalli)

-------------boruc---------------------- (kalac)

hello scudetto, uefa cup, next year scudetto CL. More that that we've set up a good future. Alright, time to leave my fantasy football manager world and back to reality

Dida has a big contract and that would cost money to terminate...

Fabio Grosso is just 30, and Italians have longer careers... so he has a good 5 years left in him (I have a feeling he'll last as long as Panucci)... I'm warming to the idea of Milan buying him but I'm not sure if that'll happen.

What makes you say that Italians have longer careers? Have you got any factual proof? I think longevity is dependent on the individual's physique, style of play, and position on the pitch. Can Panucci still cut it at right back these days? Grosso will not last much longer at left back. Once his pace dwindles, he can either quit or change positions and play as a center back. Why not invest in somebody younger?

Since this is a fantasy thread. This is what I would have done.
Out: In:
Dida(Loan, sell, anyway possible) Boruc(12M)
Abbiati(7M) Promote someone
Kalac(3M) Promote someone
Simic(4M) Zapata(16M)
Favalli(1.5M) Vargas(11M)
Oddo(5M) Mazzarrotti(2M)
Kaladze(15M) Canini(6M)
Janku(11M)
Seedorf(13M) Ballack(10M)
Brocchi(1M) Sammarco(1.5M)
Emerson(2M) Hernanes(14M)
Borreillo(18M) Gomez(26M)

Thats what I would have done, the transfer fee are lots but at least it will cut the wages.

This is just more unjustified attacks that don't have any facts backing them. I'm speaking in general. I'm making a generalization (generalizations are not false by any means). I'm not talking to the exceptions of rules, but I'm speaking generally of how long Italians last. I think Panucci is still a good player... Grosso will last as long... and he'll probably switch positions later in his career. Heck, even Maldini switched to one over another.

Why should we invest in someone younger if this player is consistent and very reliable?

the bigger issue is there arent many young lbs who are good. Vargas should have been the move. Clichy from arsenal would be best young left back. He's probably worth 25 mil. Same with lahm

clichy was voted LB on epl team last season by players, coaches. Over evra.

who is better between clichy and evra? personal choice. Clichy is 22, evra is 27 though. both r very fast, good defenders, good crosses. I really like clichy, but wenger wont let him go so moot point.

lahm, is very good. he made 1 mistake on torres, and quite frankly, i cant really blame him, torres made an great run. He did make huge plays against portugal and turkey to get them there though... i'd agree hes overpriced though

Yeah but Turkey punished the entire German backline and nearly pulled off an upset of the year I think... even if Lahm scored that winning goal, his defending was less tan impressive.

I'm impressed by Evra and I'd like to see him playing for Milan, but that's not gonna happen...
