After inconsistent performance in 2006/07 (with many chances he got) how can we hope Gourcuff will get chances like he got a year before? He should proove to the Coach (Carlo) that he is good enough to play from the first minute but he failed to to do it. Even when he played from the first minute, he played badly and even worst in one game near the end of the season.
I do like if Gourcuff got chances but it's big risk to play him in every game if in his first game as starting line-up he couldnt deliver good things to be counted. |

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti sees Mathieu Flamini as “an excellent signing” and gives his views on Gennaro Gattuso and Ronaldinho. “He is an excellent player,” the Coach said of the Arsenal midfielder. “When he played against us, he showed great dynamism and ability. Someone like him would be of use to any side. “And, seeing as he will be out of contract, that would be an excellent signing for us.” |

We shouldn't even sign Ronaldinho then because he has past his best. Judging a person based on one season is risky; that's why I'm not sure Adebayor will be a better signing than Ronaldinho. Otherwise, Seedorf, Pirlo, (and even Simic) would have been considered as past their best and would not have performed anymore before they came to Milan. And all of them contributed to our 2002/03 CL success. Re: Ronaldo, he did play well when he played with us. I think it's not right to say that he didn't have it. |

Ah, I completely ignored the fact that he was still in Milan in the early 2000's. I know about last season but that shouldn't count at all. No coach in the world would have played him last season.
Yeah, you can count Ba because of the 02 and 03 seasons ![]()

I do think the French coach hates players in Italy. But this is off topic...

last night i had a very vivid dream, it's not even funny
![]() i was dreaming that i'm watching a friendly game - Milan vs. PSV - the end result was 3-0 for Milan (we played in white jerseys, they were in their red/white with black shorts); scorers: 1-0, Drogba; 2-0, Drogba; 3-0 Seedorf ![]() Oh, and we had Ronaldinho, Joao Moutinho and Hitzlsperger in our teamI could even describe the goals but that would be pushing it with your patience ![]() Last edited by Stitch; 09-07-2008 at 19:43. |

Fast forward to this season, after promises that he'll get more playing time...etc etc. He had a good match in the preseason friendly versus Inter specifically and he was being praised for it. Did he get playing time? No. I remember when we came from Malta(either this season or last season) and they were saying how well Gourcuff was playing. Was there any improvement in playing time? No. I really cannot agree with you that he got "many chances" as there were plenty more opportunities to play him. |

was it cause you saw at the end benzema just in bench not fielded during the whole match ignored by the presence of Dinho/Kaka-Drogba-Pato upfront ? ![]()

that being said, i still think gourcuff is a bit overrated and never really liked his signing by milan. He's pretty slow at 21. Thats the only reason he earned the nickname 'le petit zidane'. he's slow, does the around the world trick... i guess similar posture while dribbling. If he's slow at 21 whats gonna happen n 5-10 years? However he wasnt the plaer we needed. we needed pace in midfield and energy. Someone like iniesta who can run at defenders and get back and defend. Someone like seedorf 5 years ago when he was younger...Gourcuff is very relaxed, laid back. perhaps 1 day he'll become like pirlo. I know he has the skill to play like pirlo, we shall see though. my only point w/ carlo was i think he made the best of most his options and got about as much out of this team as you could. but he's not perfect, and i didnt think he handled gourcuff well. That's an opinion, its debateable. (note: its my opinion, im not claiming he's great and saying its a fact) best case scenerio. he accells at bordeaux. we sell him, use the money to buy a different midfielder. one with different qualities i mean. Or perhaps he elevates his game becomes a much better player and becomes what we need! I think it still leaves a whole for a creative ENERGETIC midfielder off the bench. For when we're down and want to take a DM off. OR (godforbid) start w/ an energetic box to box midfielder, and sub him off for a DM towards end of game when we're winning 4-0 ![]() ![]() ![]()

I don't think it's just to compare Brocchi with Gourcuff. Brocchi is a DM (isn't he?!), and Gourcuff is an AMC. I don't see how you can compare Kaka` and Gattuso, for example.
But of course, brining out Gattuso in Brocchi but not Gourcuff when Milan losing 1-0 is more like a tactical issue than a player comparison. |

on another note, 1 of m best friends just got back from living in buenos aires for nearly a year. In that time he naturally went to many river and boca games. He took up supporting river. He was telling me falcao is veryvery good. I know his name has come up here before.
I'll admit i still havent watched him in a game, so i cant make judgement. on youtube he looks very service heavy. Anyway the argentine papers repeatedly linked him to milan, mostly likely cause of religious affiliation with kaka. anyone care to comment on him?
