Some players are worth more than money... they make up part of a team and contribute to the entire team. That's something you can't buy. That's what Kaka offers.
100% his calming present and professionalism dictates Milan. I personally think he should be captain after paolo. Its players like kaka who keep Milan drama free. Nvr unsettled like inter or chelsea. Its because of leaders like kaka why players who've been problems elsewhere who arent at Milan.

Squad & possible positions

GK:Kalac,Dida,Abbiatti

CD: Nesta,Bonera,Kaladze,Maldini

RB:Zambrotta,Oddo,Bonera,Flamini(?)

LB:Zambrotta,Jankulovski,Antonini,Maldini,Favalli

CM:Pirlo,Flamini,Brochi,Ambrossini

DM:Gattuso,Ambrossini,Flamini,Emerson,Brocchi

MF:**
LM(not wingers):Ambrossini,Seedorf,Pirlo,Antonini,Abate
RM(not wingers):Flamini,Seedorf,Brocchi,Gattuso,Gourcuff(loaned)
RW:Gourcuff(loaned),Kaka,Seedorf(slow)
LW:Ronaldinho,Abate,Kaka(?),Antonini(slow)
(XW not necessarily pure wingers but can play wide)
}

AM:Kaka,Ronaldinho,Seedorf

2nd Striker:Pato,Kaka,Ronaldinho,Paloschi

1st Striker:Boriello,Inzaghi,Pato(potentially),Paloschi

Is all that right? I can see us easily playing any of 4-3-2-1, 4-3-1-2, 4-2-3-1 and 4-1-2-1-2 maybe even a 4-4-1-1

We have, i think a strong competitive squad with capable temporary replacements and big game players. Oh but its dependent on what Seedorf says and whether he is willing to drop back to MF and whether or not ancelotti is ready to be flexible and stop thinking of putting Brocchi on the field for Pirlo.

What say guys?

What I think it comes down too is players willing to accept their role and perhaps a little less playing time than their used too.

Seedorf, WILL be affected when it comes to playing time, as might Ambrosini, and maybe even Gattuso.

Players who were starters may be asked to come off the bench more than in the past. If they can understand that this is for the betterment of the team, IMO Ancelotti will choose the correct tactics to get the best out of the players new and old.

Last night I put Ronaldinho on the team in Fifa 08 and kicked Seedorf out of the starting lineup. Unfortunately I didn't check the whole formation (because I only made those two changes). as I began to play I noticed that I was scoring way more than I used to (I kept Ronaldo ) but also conceding waaay more posession in midfield the reason.....the game auto-selected Brocchi in midfield There's no stopping the Brocc-ster

if we'd sign 1 winger.... then we could play 4-2-3-1 when kaka or dinho or both r sitting out a game. also it'd offer us a tactical substitution when necessary. A good squad winger is easily attainable for the cheap too....for example atletico want to dump jose antonio reyes (who btw ive always liked and is very talented 24 year old) I'm not talking about signing quaresma or cristiano ronaldo, just a good player of talent who wont cause drama not starting all the games.....

just imagine copa italia or a league game where say kaka and dinho arent fit....we could start.....

-oddo--bonera--maldini--janku--

-------flamini--ambrosini-------

-reyes----seedorf-----abate--

----------pippo------------

on that note i reall think kaka and more so seedorf would dominate playing trequarista in a 4-2-3-1, where the have wings running for them, a CF uptop, letting them dictate pace and distribute..... oh and of course score a little.

blah i'm just bored.... mercato basically done for us, season still a month away. I can only watch so much baseball

For me there is no dillema, the fastest, strongest and BEST lineup:

---------------abbiatti----------
-zambrotta--bonera-nesta-kaladze--
---------------flamini----------
---gattuso--------------pirlo----
----------kaka'---ronaldinho------
---------------pato-------------

I like it, but the only thing I would change is Flamini with Pirlo (move Pirlo to Flamini's spot)... Pirlo should be a deep midfielder... and needs to be covered by both Flamini and Gattuso... and Gattuso can be substituted for Ambrosini (who and I think most on here view as a strong hard-working player)...

buy dani alves (read 1500 posts of dru with obnoxious amount of smily faces)

---------any1 of 3 liabilities------------

-----bonera--nesta--kaladze-----------
dani alves---gattuso-------zambrotta----
----------------pirlo------------------
----ronaldinho-------kaka---------
---------------pato-----------------

my own hybrid 3-6-1... or some sorta 3-4-2-1 or god knows wtf u call it but basically 1 more wingback, and it'd work very nicely :-D (mybe i've been getting too much into formation editor in fifa 08)

There's no way you could put Nesta on the left side of the CB pair... he has not played there in... geez... never... not in Lazio, not in Milan, not in Italy NT... so why?

If I am not mistaken, Nesta had played in left DC, 4-6 years ago when Laursen (or other right-footed DC, I forget) still was still playing for Milan. I just watched an old recorded match of Milan and saw Nesta played as left DC.

I think there were some times in his Lazio days when he played there, though I can't remember for sure.

Either, Bonera at LCB makes more sense as he's more accustomed to it.

its late and im bored so I got time for a looong post

there is not much difference between LCB and RCB, it is only a very very small difference. anyway defenders at this level dont usually stick to their position but they rotate with the other CB depending on the situation.

OPTION A

here is the lineup which I think we will use most ,

------------------------------- DIDA ---------------------------------

ZAMBROTTA ---- NESTA ------------ BONERA ----- JANKULOVSKI

FLAMINI --------------------- PIRLO ------------------- AMBROSINI

---------------- KAKA ------------------- RONALDINHO -------------

----------------------------- PATO ------------------------------------

I would rather see Ambrosini rather than Gattuso. This line up gives perfect balance upfron and at the back, but I would say our weakest point is Jankulovski. Then we also Maldini, Kaladze at the back who are pretty good subs. We also have Oddo. Antonini, meh I doubt he'll have any impact like Favalli (oh yeah and btw did we renew Favalli's contract yet?)

In the middle we have Emerson (who is class), he can take any of the DM's position. Brocchi I think is one player too much, I think he should leave. 4 DM's are enough. Then we have Seedorf (who I think should start instead of one of the defensive midfielders, for a lineup like post 06/07 season). Ofcourse we also can use him as a trequartista but I really don't like him there.

Up front we got the legend in Pippo, the upcoming star rookie in Pato, and some other striker.

WITH PIRLO SUSPENDED OR RESTED:

OPTION B
I think with Flamini here we can have a nice back up formation for when Pirlo is out. I think we should use this formation for the smaller teams who like to close up.

------------------------------------ DIDA ------------------------------------

ZAMBROTTA ------ NESTA ------------- BONERA ------------ JANKULOVSKI

------------- GATTUSO -------------------------- FLAMINI -----------------

PATO ------------------------ KAKA ------------------------- RONALDINHO

----------------------------- PIPPO ----------------------------------------

With two bulldozers that have an incredible work-rate like Flamini and Gattuso I think this formation can work nice and fine.

OPTION C

A solid 4-4-2 with two wingers.

-------------------------------- DIDA -----------------------------------

ZAMBROTTA ------ NESTA ----------- BONERA ------- JANKULOVSKI

KAKA ------------ EMERSON ------- FLAMINI ------------ RONALDINHO

---------------------- PIPPO ---------------- PATO ----------------------

If you're wondering why Emerson is in there, its because I think he is world-class. He's played in a 4-4-2 with other teams and he can pass and he is good with the ball. Flamini played in that position all of last year with Arsenal and impressed. Gattuso I dont think can handle that position because he needs to have some sort of creativity and good passing. I think Ambrosini and Seedorf could play in those positions too. I also think that our other striker can play well instead of Pippo in this formation. We could also use Oddo in RB and use Zambrotta as a winger if needed.

OPTION D

A formation that I dont think Carlo will ever use, but it is the one I would play winning eleven with:

---------------------------------- DIDA ----------------------------------

----------- BONERA ------------ NESTA ---------- KALADZE ----------

-------------------- FLAMINI ------------- GATTUSO ------------------

ZAMBROTTA ----------------- PIRLO ------------------- RONALDINHO

-------------------- KAKA ----------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------- PATO --------------------

and I just felt like putting in this final formation, not really an option but just wanted to remember one of the best teams I have ever seen!

---------------------------------- DIDA --------------------------------------

CAFU ---------- NESTA ------------------ STAM ------------------ MALDINI

---------- GATTUSO ------------- PIRLO --------------------- SEEDORF ---

-------------------------------- KAKA ----------------------------------------

--------------------- INZAGHI ---------------- SHEVCHENKO --------------

With Rui Costa and Crespo on the bench.... damnnnn!
