With regards to the earlier post about Berlusconi's words, I think it is worth remembering that he did actually tell the truth about the whole issue when Sheva decided to leave. You can say what you want about Berlu, but he is not one to mince words, especially when it comes to Milan.

Also, I have to admit, I have never completely trusted Kaka's devotion to Milan. There's been something iffy about the way he has acted whenever another club has been interested in buying him, usually saying that "he will stay if Milan doesn't decide to sell," or "stay as long as the club's goals are the same as his own." And, as was pointed out in another post, it has usually ended with him signing a better contract with Milan.

I am not really sure what to think at this moment. Selling our best player would be unusual for Milan, as we have rejected massive offers for important players before. I really hope the Manchester City bid isn't being used as a bargaining tool by Kaka and his advisors.
At the same time, it could be that Kaka actually wants to stay, and the club is forcing him to leave, due to this massive offer being too "good" to reject.

One thing is for certain though. If Berlusconi wants to improve his public image, the best thing for him to do would be to step in and put an end to these negotiations himself, simply by stating that "Kaka will undoubtedly remain a Milan player."

WEll the thing is that, I think at this point Berlu and Galli nomatter what they try to do, they are the villians and if they want to keep their public image, they should come out now and say Kaka is not for sell and is flattered that Man City offered them 120Mpounds.

Not that i would like to see him gone..but Kaka leaving doesnt mean just 120+ min in our account...it means 12 mil more on yearly basis...which is not a small ammount( kakas salary till 2013 would take us around 50 mil euros..which is a serious sum, and i`m sure Galli is considering that too),whats even worse...after this saga ends ...and hope Kaka stays they will have to give him a raise...thats how stories end in football

Actually, nothing forces us to re-evaluate his contract right now, he signed until 2013, so let's refuse everything until 2011, and then, let's see if he wants to leave (he'll be 28) or if he wants an extend ... if he doesn't want to leave and asks for a too big increase of wage, let's keep him until 2013 and then, it would be "stay until the end here or leave where you want".

I know, that'll never happen in a club of our stature, nor any other big club, as if the guy leaves at the end, you don't get money at all ...

Well, nothing should have forced us to extend his contract 10 months ago as well.............but his spokesman and his father still forced us to hand him an improved contract. I really doubt that Milan offered an improved contract just to prove their loyalty. There was a contract there.....and a very good one. He was the best paid player in the club but we were forced to give him even a better one by his agents. So those people should be the last ones to say that Milan is forcing him out.

So...guess what. The end of the wage lifting has come for Kaka. Let's see how his camp handles that. Berlu was clear that his contract is there to stay and they we won't be offering him more money. Now it's up to them to take it or leave it.

I just thought it was important to mention how disguisting it was for Milan to be forced to offer new contracts to Kaka every year so he doesn't leave. But nobody here mentioned that but everyone was quick to jump on Milan's back and call them immoral. Peple.......let's please look at both sides of the story and realize that there is a lot more going on behind closed doors then just an accepted offer. There could be thousands of scenarios going on.....but for some reason a lot of people here are behaving like children and have chosen to believe the scenario given to us by newspapers (the people who in truth know just as much as we do=nothing).

My understanding is that Milan's stance is clear. Kaka gets 9.5 mil Euro a year and that's as high as we go. There is a huge offer from Man City and they have laid it on the table. If Kaka wants to stay then great.....but he and his representatives have to know that he'll stay at 9.5 mil and not a cent more then that. If they want to see what City offers then fine but it's up to them to choose if they'll stay with us or go there. Knowing that his representatives have forced us into lining up new and improved offers every year so far, I think it's pretty clear that they'll WANT to be allowed to talk to City. -----This for me is the most realistic situation. Nobody is forcing Kaka out of the club and all this bull about the tears and what not is just that = bullsh!t. If there is ANYONE that's forcing him out of Milan, it's his father and his spokesman who have been the ones respnsible for "grabbing" Kaka and themselves a new offer every year.

If you read a bit more of the posts put in this topic and maybe in the one of Kaka' earlier, you would see that we are some people having stated that Kaka' had at each mercato an increased wage ... but noone really cares/cared because we all love Kaka' and he built an excellent image in medias (as I said, his agents and co must be perfect in terms of communication) !!

Indeed...£100M is more than he is worth...so I certainly understand Berlu's position, especially if Kaka's mgmt is looking for yet another pay raise from this saga.

Plus, how would he (Kaka) really, as fundamentalist a Christian as he is supposed to be, go to work for Muslim employers?

Guess he belongs to Jesus and the Sheikh...and so by extention, Allah?

Exactly. Silvio has always run Milan as a business, not as a toy. Kaka's father and his agent keep doing this to try to get Milan to give him more (and line their own pockets in the process). Both also stand to make a bundle if this transfer materializes. At some point Milan has to call their bluff. If it's not Manchester City this time, it will be Real Madrid again next summer. Or Chelsea. Or Queens Park Rangers. Or somebody. At least if Kaka goes to Manchester City he will not be a threat to Milan for awhile, as he might if he went to Real Madrid. And life will go on for Milan, which can use the funds to revamp the squad. On the other hand, if Milan calls their bluff and Kaka's father and agent back down, that will be the end of it and Kaka will remain a Milan player until his contract runs out (and we won't have to keep going through all this crap).

Where do all these hate of Kaka comes from when he was scoring goals against ManU.

The other thing is that, if Kaka is heading to ManCity, it will also mean Milan is selling its belief for money. On top of that, they are letting Kaka go to a club which is not even close to the level that Milan is in.

Hamburg did not sell De Jong to Man City, and stated that if they are to sell De Jong, it will be to a big club like Real or Barcelona and not to a club at a lower level than them.
If the MGT at Hamburg can do that, how can Berlu and Galli still comes out and say we done it for the future of the club... for honor...for tradition......
TO me this is not smart business but rather they are not just selling Kaka, they are also selling the pride and honor of being one of the biggest and the best football clubs in the world.

But for each post we do, there is another post countering it that can be made !!

We sell to a smaller club, what a shame <=> we don't sell to a rival, very smart
Kaka' cried because he doesn't want to leave (pressure from management) <=> Berlusconi doesn't want to increase his wage (pressure from Kaka' and his entourage)
