So then, when a coach sees that his midfield cant hold on the tempo any longer, he changes a player or two not to let the team play too deep. But he changed PAto for slower Dinho who "isnt" ready to play from 1st min., but is ready to play striker on counters??

Carlo needed to insert Flamini for Pirlo and Antonini for Ambrosini, and push Marek in the middle:
------------flamini--------
---beckham----jankulovski---

that would lift the tempo of our game at moments when Ambro was carded and Pirlo was off the pace, and we fell deep defending.

And not take off only dangerous player who keept their fullbacks behind and insert Favalli on the LB.

Yes we fell down before the subs, but the subs only made it worse, They were completely wrong and only made us defend deeper instead of refreshing the team to build UP the tempo of the midfield.

maybe, but maybe if he had kept pato, we could have kept a chance to score another goal.

Sure you can't say that but it certainly is a signal of intent to the opposition and besides, it's more likely to draw pressure upon yourself and lead the opposition to get back into the game. Ever heard of a word called pressure? Ringing any bells? (this is getting old so better not repeat it again).

and I also disagree that lazio created chances.. their chances were half chances except the one where abbiati made a brilliant save and that was before the goal (i think). Zarate just ran with the ball and beat a few players but we were largely in complete control.
ACM 1983 is right where he said that we choked their attack after the second goal. Even the commentator was repeating the phrase 'running out of ideas'.

Pay attention to the bolded parts, I wonder if you can connect the strings.
Controlling the midfield and controlling the tempo - are two completely different things. ESPECIALLY when the team is winning.

Right, and you know that from Football Manager 2009?
This is the same person who said that "beckham sucks and we should have fielded flamini! BECAUSE BECKHAM DOESN"T HELP IN ATTACK" - EPIC LOL
And the same person who said Abbiati isn't good enough to be a milan goalie - EPIC LOL 2

I find you extremely amusing, keep posting.

Abbiati has again proved that he is one of the best goalies of Serie A,he made some world class saves like the one on one against Zarate:JUST BRILLIANT!!!!

I am glad that he is accepted here at MM because he is good enough for us and next year he will also be with us in C.League,he is good enough!!

Senderos was outclassed by Zarate,he has the right atttitude but not the right skills,we wont buy him i am sure,he isnt good enough but his mentality is really good,a great sub.

Bonera was for me suprising because as Carlo said he was out for 40(!) days and had the flu but still he gave a good performance, thats really impressive.

Pirlo was good,he is consistent finally we can count on him.

Becks man of the match and i dont have to explain why.

Pato scored again i hope he can catch Ibra!

Kaka wasnt that brilliant but he still scored and that counts

Seedorf covered well,he was less horibble then the previous matches. Also good assists

Zambro and Janku did their job and they did it good!

AMBROSINI YOURE MY HERO!I always supported him he is really good he has the fight spirit that Milan needs right now,and the best header of Serie A if you dont mention Pippo!

But still you guys,we have to stop the attack of our opponents earlier then at the box,we let them come to much.

Hmmm... notice how with Genoa we were in serious trouble without making any changes BUT with Lazio we choked their attack without making any changes?

jeez... controlling the game must depend on something else rather than subs.... who knew?

RINGING ANY BELLS?

He is has a fact there Mrki, you were among the persons who said that Abbiati wasnt good enough wich i thought was dissapointing because you are a clever guy who's opinion is always good.

But i think you just said that out of anger when we were dropping points by our stupid defence. So i dont took it serious but this guy is taking it serious....

C.Ancelotti i also want Carletto to be at Milan for many years but he makes some stupid mistakes and repeats them again and again....and he gives brilliant players like Flamini no chances!

There is nothing wrong with the team, and there is nothing wrong with Ancelotti. We have to fight to keep him as our manager, not drive him away.

Also, Seedorf was great. Kaka wasn't. Beckham was fantastic, and so were Bonera, Janku, Ambro and Zambro. Abbiati's form is such a wonderful surprise.

Man of the match: Beckham. Yes, Beckham. Two assists, and three through balls that resulted in one on ones. Defended well, great positioning, wonderfully inventive passes. We need him to stay.

Forza Milan.

LOL LMAO You got to be kidding me... Im happy we won, but the Milan i want should be winning pretty much every weekend, instead of russian roulette.

Carlo learning from his mistakes wrong again.. He has an amazing lineup to choose from i would hope he gets it right half the time..

Carlo is a joke to me, the only way i will change my mind is if everyweekend from this day on we win 2-0 3-1 4-0, not 1-1 , 3-0, 1-2. He is inconsistent.

As well as our players (and our best players, except Pato) ...

And I don't mention the fact that we play without a serious defense (we have Abbiati and Zambrotta playing well nowadays, or being even excellent actually, but the others are not fit, are injured, are unconfident or are just not good enough).

Please tell me these serious threats. Lazio had no ideas whatsoever, even Delio Rossi admitted the side suffered mentally after the second goal. Genoa were hungry to get the equaliser and they did everything possible to do it while Lazio were already beaten.

Yes, Genoa did put us under pressure before our subs, and I said in that match thread Carlo reacted too slowly. You don't know what would have happened, but the fact is Carlo made some nonsensical substitutions which left most dumbfounded, clearly you disagree.

Substitutions are made to bring changes to a game. The situation in the Lazio match required a different reaction to the Genoa match. Your post is suggesting that substitutions don't influence the control of the match, which if you really believe, then you are deluding yourself.

Damn... it wasn't Carlo how reacted too slow, it was the team!! When you get pressured, what do you expect? 1-2 subs to miraculously save us?!
THE WHOLE TEAM should respond regardless if there were subs or not! If the team mentality is to defend - no substitution are going to change that, you can only help a team defend better by those substitutions!. JEEZUS....
