I was just going to comment on the game, but then I remembered that yesterday I wrote a post in the summer-mercato that will perfectly sum up today's disgraceful performance and embarrassing show by our players. It is hurtful and shameful that we see such horrible passing and NO MOVEMENT.

So instead of writing a comment on the game, I'll just quote my post and it'll make me feel better after nearly putting my foot through the TV.

It is clear that the defense is the one that must be repaired.

But the midfield is also a mess!!!!

Why do I say that? Simply because the midfield is so static and the ball movement is completely terrible. Nobody moves, nobody runs. There is no runs coming off the midfield. There is never a single midfielder in the box when we get the ball out wide. *perfect scenario: Beckham has the ball wide right and we all can tell that he is going to cross.......yet again not a single midfielder makes a run from the midfield into the box and we end up with only Pippo inside and occasionally Kaka.
A lot of people here mention the header that Gourcuff scored a week ago or so, where he passed the ball wide and then sprinted in the box to head it in. Same goes for the Ronaldinho goal against Inter where he hit a 40 meter ball to Kaka and then sprinted into the box to head the ball in.
-These are plays that should happen 3,4,5 times during a GAME...and not 3,4,5 times during the season.
And this is just one of the problems. The other one like a mentioned is that ball movement is so slow that even a U17 team will know where our attack is going. There is no movement off the ball and there is no inter-changing of positions. Everything is so static that sometimes I simply can't believe my eyes that I am looking at a Milan midfield and not Serie C players.
Compare how the midfield plays today to how the midfield operated a couple of years ago and you'll see a huge difference.

This is why I would take the midfield repairs ahead of a CF. We need new blood in the midfield. Players that will push some of the current ones. Push them to play better or push them out of the field....I don't really care which one because it is painful watching such crap midfield performances from a club like Milan.

Changes need to be made. Kick everyone out for all I care. Whoever still thinks that Carlo still has a place on this team , not personal - but that person is a fool. The guy can no longer motivate the players and has no authority over anything that goes on in the club. He has no balls to sit beloved players on the bench and the players are too relaxed on the field. Having said that, it also doesn't mean that I think embarrassing performances from our players are OK and a lot of them need to be shown the door this summer as well.

To be like the Harlem Globetrotters you have to at least entertain. I'm pretty sure most who watched the Udinese match would agree we don't entertain.

Agreed in pretty much every respect. That's why I want a expect a fairly big change in midfield next season, even if we don't get new starters for the midfield.

However, the problem today wasn't imo static play, lack of width or whatever else we can throw out there regarding tactical set up. It was a shocking show of attitude from literally the whole team. There was no fight in the team, and we didn't even attempt to fight. Guys like Pirlo, Kaka, Pato and Flamini who I'm forever defending let me down completely, none of them even looked like they were making an effort.

In the whole team I can't give anyone any real credit, none even deserve it, mentally they all looked zoned out. Dida looked a nervous wreck at times, though credit to him for a couple of decent saves. Zambrotta looked like he never wanted any part in the game. Janku who usually runs a lot didn't look like he could be bothered. Senderos looked a bumbling mess that has no place at Milan and Maldini looked frustrated. Then Ambro disappeared for 90 minutes only to score a goal and Seedorf....had his usual attitude (not a compliment). Quite honestly, when half the team plays like they've only just kicked a ball for the first time and the other half can't be bothered, things like movement simply won't happen.

I seriously hope the upper management make themselves heard after this match. We were shameful and it's time the bosses did something about it.

Well it sure was nice of us to hand the scudetto to Inter tonight. Hopefully we won't see any more performances like this.

If not for him the scoreline would've been much worse.

Can't satisfy everyone, I guess.

To be honest when players don't play like they care it's better if the scoreline was actually worse. Starting in the latter part of the Juve game it seems some one relayed the message to stop playing altogether. If ambition doesn't trickle down from the very top I can see us being in trouble for the foreseeable future. I don't see this (and partially the Juve game) performance as just a bad game, it was something more than that, of course I hope I am being too negative.

There's no doubt it's been a rough day. Not only did we lose to an Udinese side, who were clearly better than us today, but Merda secured the Scudetto. From 2007 untill now has definetly been the worst period for Milan in Carlo's reign, and right now we're not looking that good. We're still in second though, although it's never good enough for a team like Milan, and it shouldn't be, but considering the situation three months ago, I think it's better than we could've hoped.

We can't forget how we were all praising everything a couple of weeks ago, when we were winning games, like we should. The club needs to pick itself up, there definetly needs to be improvement, perhaps Carlo should go, perhaps not, we definetly need new players aswell, but we as fans also need to show a better attitude. We need to stick by the club when we're down, we can't just support Milan when we're winning, and turn our backs when we're losing. For eksample even though Seedorf is playing terribly, we can't start booing the player that has won us so much. Nobody was booing two years ago when he scored against Man Utd, nobody should be booing now. I definetly think we should change things, but turning our backs on the players now, doesn't help anything. The club, the fans and the players, all need to improve, so we can become the club that we need to be.

And an indication of whether our Top management is devoted is by the kind of players you bring in.

Clearly, our ambition is not reflected in our market. There is not a single question about it.

I just want to say that ever since the Catania game, I stated that there is no intensity in our game and now everything is coming out.

TO be honest, I really don't know what happened last night, it seemed like the players just did not want to play. COuld this be b/c they are all supporting Carlo and shows Berlu that they are with Carlo with a crappy performance or vice versa. I just find it strange that even guys like Flamini and Becks just did not want to play anymore.

I've acknowledged he made some important saves and I did so in the post you quoted just before the part you bolded. That doesn't mean his performance wasn't without fault, as he could have made some more solid saves rather than fumbling the ball everytime a shot came in. His performance didn't fill me with much confidence.

You can't be serious in suggesting the side deserved support yesterday. The players deserve what they get, and their showing yesterday doesn't deserve any support. It's not just about winning or losing, it's about effort and hard work. Yesterday there was no effort from the team, even after going 2-0 down. There was no hard work to try and get into the match. Seedorf 2 years ago was getting praised because he was doing great things, but to do those great things he was making an effort that was appreciated. These days he waddles around the pitch acting as though he's some sort of God. Players deserve booing if they won't put in the workrate. Seedorf wouldn't be booed if he was giving it his all. That's why guys like Pippo or Maldini don't ever get booed, even if they are struggling.

they never had an interest in playing , there was nothing to fight for
i seriously cant stand it when Milanista's dont play , i careless for winning but at least they have to play , try , posses , fight , whatever u d call it
our midfeild made us suffer yday , we havent had any kind of possesion
i think flamini suffered from playing away from his position having played a couple of games as a right back
since our midfeild is suffering then our backs were not looking good , for example Zambrotta wasnt himself and also Senderos
also our attack wouldnt look good without getting the ball most of time and trying to build attacks
same problem that caused us to suffer against torino , palermo , juve first half of the season when flamini and ambrosini were prolly injured and gattuso was out for the rest of the season and we only had emerson
pirlo cant get the ball from opponents and ambrosini is only playing on the left so the right and the center of our midfeild is not well covered

I think the last four matches with Juve, Udi, Fio and Roma are true test for the present Milan.

The board need to watch them to decide, which position need top quality addition.

Inter's 17th Scudetto (= Milan) and MU's 18th English Champion (= Liverpool)

What a year!

There was not a single player on the pitch, (probably excluding Pippo and Maldini) who gave their all yesterday.

We can look forward to another lacklustre performance and defeat vs the Viola next weekend.

That said, I wonder if the "mid-week" match affected our performance this game?

Can anyone check to see what our results are like after we play these games in the week...?
