Hernanes is a young Seedorf.

I don't think Box to Box, Flamini type player is our priority now; simply because we have Flamini and Pirlo/Seedorf are still performing.

Our biggest priority is a LB and Dzeko (if Huntelaar leaves). That's it. Those are really the only two pieces we're missing. Borri is good enough, but sometimes I wish his finishing was better.

Aly Cissokho would have really helped us out this season, no?

------------------------------------------Dinho---
--------------Hunter--------Borri----------------

in OT if Pato could not play. We need 2 forwards. Only Hunter or Borri is easy to mark, even the stronger, faster, taller (maybe more skillful) Adebayor sucked. The diversity of two forwards make it harder to control, and our midfileders can give many chances as they are the best passers in the world, even Max can pass very well.
Mate, we are playing this kind of formation already, but not with Hunter and Borri upfront. Pato is running in the middle often, so initial 4-3-3 becomes like 4-2-2-2 at times, something like this:

------Ambrosini------Pirlo-------
-----------Seedorf-------------
-----------------------Ronny---
------Pato-----Borriello---------

That's why I'm arguing that this is a perfect position for Pato, because he's not initially one of two CFs, so he's not as tightly marked, but in the game he becomes a CF with his unpredictable runs in the middle.

Borriello could play that position also, with Hunter in the middle, and that would look like your proposed formation at times, I was talking about this a long time ago, but Leonardo refuses to use Borriello on the side.

To add, I read many of you here are confused about Pato's position, saying like "he should be a striker", and that makes me think that he's a winger, which isn't true. There are three types of strikers: center forward (CF), supporting or second striker (SS), and wing forward (WF). Now, many people are confused because they think that 4-3-3 automatically means WF-CF-WF, and that SS can only fit in a formation with two strikers, but it's not right. Nowdays, a few teams that use 4-3-3 play with wingers. Mourinho likes to play with wingers and his 4-3-3 in Chelsea was 4-3-3 with wingers. But our 4-3-3 is 4-3-3 with supporting strikers not with wingers, it's similar to 4-3-3 of Barcelona.

I hope I clarified things a little, and Samaldinho another very good post....

Flamini is not BTB player,he is just a DM with good skill,it doesnt mean he is BTB.Flamini has something of everything yet he doesnt have full of any of that...he is not even enough for first 11,he has Gattuso and Beckham ahead of him even on the bench...

Hernanes is a BTB yet not a young Seedorf though...

Asamoah or Moussa Sissoko are these kind of players i want, these player can be called as young Seedorf and BTB players.Pirlo is performing yet he is always playing and only Pirlo is not enough, for 4-3-3 we need someone like Seedorf as well...for keeping the possesion and dominating the rival midfielders we need someone like him...we are not effective in the forward area of our midfield thanks to this problem...Whenever we sign these kind of player and a WC striker,Ronaldinho and Pato will perform better as well...

creative, dribbler, can move forward with the ball easily, can play 2 part of the game, can dictate the game e.t.c.

if Flamini is a BTB,What is iniesta,Xavi,Sneijder,Seedorf,Deco,Sissoko,Asamoah?

^^^Well Flamini works from box to box , defends by his box runs to the other box making passes winning the ball playing it wide even having a shot , Flamini is a box to box midfielder like Albertini , Viera , Keane , Essien.

The guys you named to me are CREATIVE Pirlo type midfielders , although Sissoko and Asamoah are no where near a Seedorf type player a young Seedorf an old Seedorf a retired Seedorf ,I can't believe its not Seedorf . But to me Flamini is a box to box midfielder not the best in the world but box to box nonetheless.

If you want strong midfielders who move a lot and who can play "box to box", you don't need to go too far from Milan to find some ... just look at other teams in Italy: Hamsik in Napoli, Inler in Udinese. I'd like to have one of these two players (if not both) in Milan.

They have some characteristics that our players don't have, so as a consequence, they would bring something to our team ...

It's not a must to watch in France, Germany, Brazil or other countries when you can find interesting players already in your championship.

Actually, depending on our needs, I'd say:
- for a GK, search in Italy (and France)
- for a defender, search in Italy and Brazil
- for a midfielder, search in Italy and Brazil
- for a winger, search in Brazil, Spain and Netherlands
- for a striker, search in Brazil, Spain, Netherlands and Germany

Of course, when I say "search in this country", that does mean the championship in this country, not a nationality ...

It will be very hard to find a replacement for Seedorf, because he was an unique player. It was such combination of skills which is hard to find, strength, stamina, good pace, passing, shooting, team play, technique, box to box...

Hamsik is really good but he's thin and weak. I doubt that Inler is that kind of player, to me he's more like Ambrosini, who's also box to box mid, but not technical.

I wasn't in the discussion "who can replace Seedorf ?" as for me, each player is unique.

We will never find any player similar to Seedorf in his best form, as well as there will never be any player like Ronaldinho, like Kaka', etc.

And we don't need to find players who are similar to the ones we have but players who have some characteristics we need in the team (which means: something new).

For me, Hamsik and Inler are two midfielders who would be very useful in our team. Maybe more Hamsik than Inler ...

Yes, Hamsik is great player, but imagine our 3 man midfield in, say, 2 or 3 years: Flamini, Pirlo, Hamsik. All physically weak players. If we could find a player like Hamsik, but with more power, it would be great.

revolver is right about seedorf,he was too special,i just dont think he is a box to box player,he played that for 2 years only imo..hamsik and hernanes would be gr8,not inler imo..

our really vital needs are a lb and a better sc like brk said..BUT that doesnt mean that we would be complete,we would just have a very strong 11(if pirlo and ambro will continue perform like this, which i doubt)..

we also need a gk,a cb back up that will later on take nesta's place..
and maybe then a box to box medfielder and a more type of winger forward..

Hamsik and Flamini are not what I call physically weak players ... it's even the contrary, yes, they have not the body of Ambrosini or Essien, but they are strong physically.

Anderson of Man U is a good "box-to-box" midfielder... even though he is injured he could be a gamble... buy him wounded and get him cheap!!! like punctured ferrari...

According to the Deloitte Football Money League, Milan earn 196.5M € for 2008\2009 (excluding money from transfers\players sold). Where is all this money going to?

They only stated how much each club earned instead of net profit. If Galli and Berlu words are any to go by, the costed of running Milan was 261.5M since Kaka got them 65M to BALANCE THE BOOK
