Inter will survive without Balotelli and Maicon , and Kuyt and Mascherano will add something ....unless Benitez is still insane. But it shows as we have said 1000,000 ,000 times you gotta spend money to make money.http://www.football-italia.net/jul27c.html

Mario rarely plays, his departure will not affect Inter at all even if Morretti does not replace him with Ibra or Torres or Dzeko or whoever, as they already have Eto, Milito and Pandev as strikers.
Maicon on the other hand will affect Inter as I really don't see how Santon can replace him or any other RB in the world.

Having Mascherano will only improves Inter already strong midfield. Cambassio, Mariga, Muntari(if he stays), Stankovic, Sneijder, Motta and Mascherano are a very fearsome midfield.

If Kuyt will play the unsung hero at Inter.

What scares me the most is how Morretti will spend the money from the sale of Maicon and Mario along with Inter's original transfer fund(only spent Racchinnoa=6.5Mil). In short, Morretti could possibly has 120mil(only 75% of the reported 160Mil @ Goal.com) to spend and that basically means 3-6 World Class players. Imagine he goes out and sign the following players.

Dzeko-40Mil
Cissohko-20Mil
Honda-20Mil
Kuyt-15Mil
Juceli-10Mil
Mascherano-15Mil

Barcelona and Real(if JM sorts the midfield out) are the only two teams that have the players, while the rest just don't.
i don't even want to start to think what kind of team Barcelona may have next year.

I don`t think that will happen...the more likely scenario is that Maicon and Mario will go and nobody will be signed. Zanneti will cover for Maicon and Santon will cover the LB position. A cover for Mario will not be bought cuz they already have Milito, Pandev,Eto and Arnautovic,Mancini(not that Mario played a huge role anyway) As a matter of fact Moratti said that after the treble the priority of Inter will be to "balance the books" for the next two years. And i believe that will happen cuz there is no team out there who as spent more than Inter over the two decades and largely without a success.

One more thing. Mario will snap in England...there is not way in hell he will find it easy to cope with the british press.

It is really wishful thinking for us to think Inter will not spend big when they have like 160mil to spend......But I really doubt it as the owner(Morretti) still cares about winning.
Even if he spends half of that-80MIl, he could still get Honda, Dzeko and Cissohko. Do remember that Inter's wages bill is not as high as Milan, as guys like Matrix(sits on bench and do crap) earns like 2 mil, while Kala earns about 4mil.

Personally, I think Mario just needs a coach that he truly respects and guides him. If I am Mario, I would play for ManU, as Fergie is probably the only Manager out there that I could think of that can really help Mario fulfill his potentials.

Liverpool reckon that Torres owes them another 12 months because they stood by him when he was injured....What are they on about it is the norm to fire or sell a player when he is injured, there making odd statements that are p1ssing him off.

Moratti wants to balance the books, to some extent anyways. So the 160M will def not be spent, nothing near that, at least imho.
Also, what's the point of selling Maicon if you intend to buy a replacement that costs just as much? It's not like his replacement would be any better (Maicon is probably the best RB around today). They will probably get some youngster for cheap or some decent back-up.
For Balotelli they don't really need a replacement, since they have several WC forwards. On the other hand Inter might buy Mascherano, not a replacement for Maicon and Balo, but just a type of player Benitez wants to play his type of game. Possibly also Kuyt. They should cost 40-45m together, and Inter earn 60-65M from Balo-Maicon. That's still a profit in in bank.

As for us.......

With a decrease of their wages ... The problem is: we do that to have more money, but these players will stay in Milan one more year. By buying new players, wages will increase of course (so these last year wages for these players could be problematic) AND we will have too many players.

It's a weird choice, but I presume everything is planned and calculated ... so just let's hope they didn't make mistakes in their plans !!

My two cents on the issue.

Guys some of you need to understand that the deal extensions for Oddo, Zambro, possibly Kala and Janku are not necessarily a bad thing. Have in mind that all of them had a valid contract untill 2011 with 3-4 mil in wages and that money consider it gone(thnx to Galliani.).One may argue that yes we spread wage to two years but still we will have to cope with these dead weight for an extra year. What mgm understood is that they won`t be able to get rid of these guys and decide to take this step which is a really good solution. Because if know team is interested to pay Kaladze 4 mil this year, it doesn`t mean that next summer someone won`t be able to pay him 2 mil a year(the part which is left of the contract with Milan). This way we have the option to save 2 mil. Kaldze will be happy to leave since he will be getting paid the same but can play regularly and the team intersted can make a deal with him aroun 1.5 mil which is close to 2 mil he would be earning in Milan. Everybody is happy this way.

Worst case scenario is that nobody is interested in them. We can put them to train with the second team, either way we have lost the 4 mil.

So if you ask me. its a tie-win situation.

It's what I don't understand ...

The clubs who were interested by these players probably already offered such a contract, and the guys refused, officially not for money. The fact they accept to sign a new deal in Milan with a decreased salary tends to give them credit on these reasons. The point is: why would they accept to leave Milan next year when they didn't want to leave this year ? Why leaving Milan for a smaller club with the same wages ? And what makes you think that these clubs won't offer an even more decreased salary next year (you say 1.5 instead of 2, but maybe they will offer 1 instead of 2) ?

If that's the plan, for me, it's already written "failure" on it because these guys will stay in Milan almost for sure IMO.

PS: If I'm not wrong, we have no reserve, it's first team + Primavera + youth teams, but no reserve. So the guys either train with the first team or don't train. That means a lot of people at the training sessions if we include some of the young players and new players next summer ...

PS1: I'm not against this policy, nor for, but is it better to suffer regarding our budget during one year and get rid of all these players at the same time or to cut these wages to pay them in 2 years ?

I agree in general but i think 1.5 mil is not a figure we can hope for. Maybe i am wrong, but didn't even Panathinaikos find him too expensive in contrast to his latest every-year-and-worse seasons?

But seriously, if we ever get 1.5 mil for Kaladze, as Larry would say, we ll be talking about a pretty pretty pretty pretty good deal.
