The higher your income, the bigger the tax

Tax is lower in Spain and was lower in England, so no wonder they had advantage in signing player.

Milan must pay 8M for a 4M wage/year player when Barca or MU only need 6M or so.

But English club will not have this advantage anymore.

Of course, it's like that here as well. With a decent salary it's from just under 30% and up. And then there's a bunch of other taxes as well... Consumer taxes like VAT (Value Added Taxes) for instance.

I watched the game and it was great! France once again proved that strength and determination can overcome technique!

I don't know about the regulations in England but in Spain, last I heard Galliani speak, "high earning foreign workers" only paid some 25% in income tax for the first 4-5 years (can't remember). So if a player earns 4 million NET in Italy the club has to pay 8 million, while in Spain it's only 5.3 million. Big difference.

Milan need a midfielder, says Allegri Friday 30 July, 2010

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri would like to sign another central midfielder before the end of the transfer window, but insists he's happy with his squad.

Speaking ahead of Milan's participation in the Emirates Cup, Allegri was asked about his recruitment strategy.

“What we have is fine,” he said. “If someone leaves then someone else will arrive, but right now the squad is fine.

“We speak every day with Galliani. Seeing that we'll be playing with three in central midfield, we'll need at least six players in that position.

“I am convinced that the club will bring home a good player.”

When asked if he intends to raid former club Cagliari for Andrea Lazzari, Allegri was coy in his response.

“It will take a dynamic player,” he said.

Allegri then looked ahead to tomorrow's game against Arsenal.

“We will try to do good things even if we have only been training for 10 days and we are missing some players. But I am convinced that we'll do good things.

“I am not worried. Ronaldinho has stayed at home to work and get into a good condition for the start of the season.

“He is a very important player. He has great technical qualities, so we'll need to try and protect him when he isn't well.”

Indeed. Here the maximum tax for salary is 35%. 50% in Italy? That's just crazy.

Hopefully Allegri will get his wish. (or not?)

rumor says that Robinho can be included in the Balotelli deal.... as Robinho's agent was spotted in Milano yesterday..... I was never jealous of Inter's transfers before....but now, damn. Both Robinho and Balotelli were my dream transfers for the summer. I'm going to hope that Robinhos agent was in Milan to speak to the Rossoneri.

We're heavily linked to Andrea Poli and Angelo Palombo of Sampdoria. Palombo I've seen plenty of, he's solid and reliable and a decent holding midfielder, though nothing more than a squad player imo (will provide a better alternative than Rino did in the last year). Apparently he could come for 10m euros.

Andrea Poli on the other hand I must say I know little about. He's only 20 and apparently would be capable of providing cover to any one of our midfield roles. From what I gather, he's one of the best youngsters for midfield coming through in Italy and is capable of leading attacks from deep areas, which would be useful to us. However, the biggest stumbling block would be his price of 15m euros.

We're also linked to others of course, including M.Diarra of Madrid, Lazzari of Cagliari and Blasi (wtf!?) who was with the squad in America.

If anyone has seen much of Poli, I would appreciate any feedback on him.

No Rannochia, we lost Bonucci, No Rossi, No Balotelli, No Robinho, No Dzeko, No Honda, No Jucilei, No Hernanes, No Cole (i didnt want him)
No Torres No Zlatan, No Khedira, No Oezil, No Luis Fabiano, No Van der Wiel, No Coentrao and I promise you:
No Poli and No Palombo as 10M is too expensive.

They can't even sell Janku/Oddo/Kaladze as they suck too much for even the relegation teams to want them. and then we go ahead and since we can't sell them, we extend their contracts into their late thirties.

In fact, this may even be some sort of conspiracy, Perhaps the economic system is about to fall this year, and Berlu doesnt want to drop 1 more penny on anything..I'm surprised he won't sell, maybe if he sells, it will look like he knew it all along..
why else would he plummet this team into darkness

Nesta, Thiago Silva, Sokratis, Yepes and probably Onyewu (or Bonera) are the only CB who will be used. That means 5 CB, and that's exactly what we need. 4 CB would be enough ? No way, Nesta can get an injury and be out for one year again at any time, so we need an extra player.

Kaladze ? Let's not count him, if the guy can't be included in a friendly cup with 2 games in 2 days (so 2 different teams probably used), I don't think he'll have good days in Milan anymore. I even think that letting Kaladze and Jankulovski in Italy is a message sent by Allegri to these guys ...
