With Ibra, milan finally have a support striker\forward, I can't remeber the last time Milan actually had a proper support striker. I know Kaka was used by Ancelloti as a support striker but since then. This is just what Pato needs, an experienced support striker with features that compliment his own. I can't wait. Finally a Milan attack with ball controll and skills, I was getting tired of the one dimensional forwards like Huntelaar, Borrielo and Inzaghi.

Now things have changed since salaries have become so extravagantly high. If Ibra stays at Milan for three or four seasons, we will have invested more money in him than you guys could ever have dreamt we'd spend on transfer fees this year and next and the year after. This doesn't for a moment not mean it's a great signing for us. It means that it's not a bargain in the way I think you guys are wanting to see it. Getting Ibra off the wage bill will be worth something like 50 mil to Barca over the next four seasons,This will be 8 mil after tax, no doubt. In which case it's 16 mil a year for the club for Ibra alone add to that the stupid contracts we gave to the likes of Oddo,Janku and Kaladze.

It's the same as Flamini, kaladze and oddo combined. Not much more. I think he's worth it.

Valid point here, but let me ask you a question, would you prefer to pay Ibrahimovic that wage while paying a truck load of money to sign him? Player salaries are what they are, there is not a damn thing we can really do about it. But if you look at it, top level players transfer fees have also become quite ridiculous the last few years. How much did Barca pay for Ibra a year ago? What about Kaka, Ronaldo, Benzema, Chygrynsky, Berbatov, Gomez and others? The fans here are celebrating because at least we avoided having to pay a ridiculous amount of transfer fees to get Ibrahimovic, a very high level player. On top of that, his wage was also reduced when he agreed to sign the contract with us. If you really want players with cheap contracts, then you should be pretty happy with the Ricardo Oliveiras we have been bringing in the last few years.

If you ask me, our wage structure will be perfectly fine even with Ibrahimovic here. The new milan wage hierarchy shoumd mirror that of an NBA team: big superstars get big money; role players get middle of the pack money; while the bench warmers gets enough to make their ends meet. That means, the Kaladzes, Oddos, Onyewus, Gattusos of this team shouldn't and in the future wouldn't be getting 4 million a year. As long as we make sure that happens, we can more than afford a couple of Ibrahimovics on this team.

I'm not saying its not a good deal just that it struck me that a few of the guys here saw the 24 mil and that was it so to speak without considering the wages we will be paying and of course i would rather have Ibra than the RO and second time round shevas i just thought a little realism needed to be brought back, i guess we will have to enjoy him while he lasts!

As long as there's no price agreed a "first option" doesn't mean much really. Anyway, nothing like that has been mentioned and both Thiago Silva and Pato have shown great affection towards Milan until now. By buying stars like Ibrahimovic and showing ambitions it will be even tougher for them to leave I think.

Pato should be taken aside and shown the stories of Shevchenko and Kaka just to remind him that the smartest thing for him to do would be to stay at Milan forever.

So now that we still have that precious Non-EU spot open, when, where and who will use that spot? Any ideas?

Candidates:

1- Honda- can improve our Asian market (which is a very very big deal marketing wise, just ask Man Utd about what happened to them when Park was signed). He can also play in the three midfield positions as well as a Trequartista. Granted, he is a level below our trident, but he is better than Seedorf as a Trequartista and offers a valid (and not so expensive) alternative.

2- Dzeko, simply not going to happen this year, looks impossible with Zlatan coming in.

3- Ganso- Milan were heavily linked earlier in the summer and he seems to be destined for greater things. However luck was not on the kids side as only last week he hurt his knee and is going to be out for 6 months.

4- Jucilei - Milan linked early in the summer again, destined for greater things. So far as of today, he is the one that is the most likely to come, if we want to use the spot. He was 7m euro before his call up to Brazil NT, now maybe around 10. Looks good but also unlikely as we we have Flam, Rino, Seedorf, Ambro and new-signing KPB all fighting for 2 midfield spots (3rd is Pirlo's).

5- Fullback: We recently got Montelongo but he is one big question mark. The last 'question mark' players we got have all failed: Grimi, Cardacio, Viudez, Mattioni and Adiyiah. This does not look like it will be any different. IMO, this position is what we need to strengthen the most at the moment before the market closes. Gareth Bale looks good but he finally seems settled at Spurs, so maybe we can get some South American to fill in the void?

6- Promising youngster: someone like that Fues kid from River, someone like Adiyiah but wisely thought.. this spot should NOT be wasted as we only have one spot available a year. It's been wasted on recent years on: Shevchenko, Viudez and Adiyiah.

7- Save it for January - could be a wise decision as R80 is rumored to be leaving and we do not BADLY need to do a signing right now, for once the team looks good all-around (well, kinda). We also could patch some holes, if there any, during mid-season after seeing the team play for four months.

Rumours say we could loan Borriello... If that is the case, VdV is a perfect solution as PAto can play Cf when needed.

It's very nice to have signed Ibra. It's obvious however that Berlusconi bought him because there will probably be another election in Italy soon. He has learned from his mistakes, selling Kakà cost him some 3 percentage points at the EU-parliamentary elections.
Anyway, I'm not complaining… whatever it takes to get Milan competitive.

I'm quite content with the price. Considering he was paid 45-50 mil + Eto'o, getting him for 24 isn't too shabby. Especially considering it was supposed to be 40, according to rumors.
Now if we sell Huntelaar, for say 10-15 mil Ibra will only "cost" 14-9 mil for our pockets. Same thing goes for wages. And then hopefully soon we can lose some of that extra weight from the likes of Oddo, Janku and Kaladze; that way we will even out that huge salary Ibra has.

No. No. No. Accept it. Why want Huntelaar when you can fund Ibra with his sale money. And Rossi will not be good for us, he's overrated, stop highlighting him. Would love to see vdV here though.

If both should leave in this window we need to sign Robinho right away.

VdV was included for Madrid squad, Diarra and Drenthe were not.

Actually our transfer budget is intact. The money for Ibra will come directly from Berlusconi's pockets, a "donation". Our balance in regards to the economic fair play is totally fine.
Let's all be happy, our transfer budget is intact. It is still at 1-2 mil euros

I don't think Borri will go to Juve. They bought Quagliarella, so they should be covered. Hunter should be on his way out.. dont know if there is time for it though.

Signing Ibra really rules out Dzeko for the next 3-4 years, they are identical players, I don't think they can both co-exist, not with Pato at least.
