First, the usual post-match commentary: Rino----Pirlo-----Seedorf too static, too old, doesn't work

KPB was wasted upfront as he wasn't receiving the ball at all

Coach needs to have a plan B

Coach needs to utilize the players on the bench, and to give them enough time to impact the game (i.e. not give Robinho 2 minutes to change the game)

I wouldn't be as upset if we tried to do things differently and failed, but the fact that we stick to the same tired old formula time after time, we're so rigid tactically and with no suitable plan B is proving disastrous thus far. Let's hope Mr Allegri starts changing quickly otherwise he's gonna lose the faith of the fans and the patience of Berlusconi (much sooner)

If we had started with the team we finished the game with, we would have probably been up 5-0 by half time goddamnit! In the last 5 minutes, we had the same number of chances on goal that we had all match!!!!!

I can't see why anybody would argue with that. Spot on.

There is no one in this forum that can defend Allegri. The moment I saw this line up I was worried.

One of my biggest concerns are that Ibra being so frustrated is just not even going to try anymore.

All my friends are laughing at me and my Milan. :-(

But you see my dear fellow fan, Leo and Ancelotti got the best out of their players and their systems. We had one of the best chances to work things out today, and yet we still managed to conceed by letting Lazio back on the ball in the final 20 minutes.
If that had been Ancelotti, he'd have let us hold the ball in the midfield and run out time.
If it had been Leo, he'd have Ronnie, Ibra and Prince run the ball up the pitch and either try attacking or stalling in THEIR corner. What did Allegri do? You tell me.........

Can someone please tell me why we had to resort to that sort of tactic when we had
(a) Three attacking players in the final third that could hold up play (Ronnie, Ibra, Boateng); and
(b) Three holding midfielders able and willing to hold the ball (Pirlo, Seedorf, Flamini)?

I do not believe I have the tactical nous of a fully fledged coach, but I can honestly say that I could have coached better than him today. You take a team that even he admits is bad at defending, with plenty of other options for running down the clock and what does he make them do? Defend!

Woah yeah! Good on you Coach! Its like waving the white flag.

LOL. He still needs to have a plan A first.

I thought during the pre-season friendlies that his use of the youngsters (Strasser, Merkel, Verdi) augurs well for this new season. And like a naive girl with a history of bad ex-boyfriends, I told myself, "no this one's is different, this guy's the one!" Only to be let down again and get smacked in the face with a backhand of Rino-Pirlo-Seedorf midfield.

Anyway, it's way too early to jump on the sack Allegri bandwagon, we have to give him a bit of time. But I think the guy needs to readjust his game plan and evolve his strategies quickly or be gone with the wind.

Allegri's Brain Waiting to be found
9:34 PM Sep 22, 2010
Someone tell Allegri where I am...he's making stupid decisions without me. For example, Gattuso to start, Robinho only substituted in with 4mins to go, expecting him to win the game with so little time.

Funny comment on goal.com

Kaiser I think we were ready to give time to any coach. But with this team, player, etc even if its ugly we should have won all these games. 1-0 even. Look at the teams Lecce, Cesena, Catania, and Lazio (the toughest one of all).

He needs to do a 180 for me to like him. If he doesnt fire his as s. Bring back Leo.

Kaiser with a very good post, agree with everything you say...

Too soon to judge him, but he definitely wasn't what I expected (instant results).

Spot on, Ryo...

Allegri needs to wake up, he's at Milan, and this style of football(to be straight, the team is a mess) will not work. Time will tell, but I stick with my opinion we would miss Leo, like I said in the past with Ancelotti.

I hope Allegri change things, but at least we are seeing(like you said) week in and out, how Leo and Carlo got the best out of their players... A thing that the 2 Leo haters never agree...

P.S. One more thing, without the Leo saga fiasco, Hernanes would not have constructed Lazio goal, because he would be playing in red&black
