good point: finally after 'a while ', we have a striker we could rely on .
not so good point: dinho is untouchable on the left hand side, without him, we could possibly play other formations that suit better with players we have. its so hurting to watch we play 4-3-3

ps. can we loan hernanes ?

All coaches say that, more or less ... I prefer to see our coach saying such a thing instead of saying things like Ranieri or Del Neri ("we can't win the Scudetto").

Seriously, when you read the comments of Allegri (he really says the same kinds of things as Leo last year), he generally says he's happy, there is improvement, etc, but then, he always points out what needs to be improved.

Strange... Last season you called everyone said that about Leo here, naive, crazy, wrong(and that team was worse, talent wise). Now, you're defending Allegri?? Double standards?? Btw, Robinho at 88'?? He's not in shape, but played 45 for Brazil last week. So, put him at 88' just show Allegri was lost yesterday... or he forgot he had Robinho at disposal

I'm sure Allegri has a plan B, and plan B is Robinho as AM in 4-3-1-2.
Now you know whats going on in Allegri's head? How you say so?? First game he had Robinho at disposal, he locked him at the left, like Ronaldinho but with one big difference, the first loves to play free, unlike the second one, who loves to play at the left line.
Now It's my turn to be in Allegri's head: There's no WAY he EVER thought of Robinho as a 1 in the 4-3-1-2, ever!!

The Time is amazing... At least Shegs didn't hide himself in a assumed air of objectivity. He was proud of the hater role...

Bashing aside, Allegri was the mgt(Berlusconi) choice, and unless he screw-up even more in the coming weeks, he deserve to have his job until December. A reasonable(and dangerous) time to understand what he wanted for this team... Fire him now is unfair.

My Italian isn't that good, but I read in a Italian site yesterday that Galiani&Braida said to Leonardo Hernanes was too slow to Serie A. I hope that wasn't the case and was just a money problem.

I can't believe people are actually considering firing Allegri.

We actually did play a lot better this time. We had major problems up front creating chances, and that has to be fixed, but we conceded very little. Once Boateng and Flamini are around Pirlo (and we shelve Seedorf) we'll be much better. We have yet to see the team click. Have some faith and understand that football isnt a game of certainties, sometimes no matter what you do things just don't come together, but if we stay positive, work on the things we can work on, we will improve immensely.

HAHA yes you say we need to do this and that...

Let's see if Allegri does it.. HE WON'T

Brasileiro.. If Allegri doesn't ever think of Robinho in the "1" of a 4-3-1-2.. then we're in trouble...He's exactly what we need...

Ronaldinho is hurting us,, Seedorf is hurting us.. these two need to disappear NOW...

* Hernanes was quickest player on the field, has great moves

He wasn't actually, I would put Foggia at quicker. But he was so much more technically better than everyone on the pitch. I remember we had 3 players crowding him into a corner, and he still managed to slip out with the ball at his feet.

We totally missed a bargain here, he was about as expensive as Kaka, and just as technically adept.

At first I believe he would try... But at the first chance, he put him on the left as a winger. He isn't a true #10, but is the best chance Allegri has right now to construct a balanced team. Wake up, Coach!!!

Look... as Brazilian, I want the best for Ronaldinho, but I'm preaching it for years, and using Brazil NT as example. The actual Ronaldinho can win for you some games(mostly against weak competition), but NEVER A CHAMPIONSHIP, PERIOD.

Agree... Plus, a class act off the field, too. Great bargain for Lazio...

mamma mia

Ok i have watched all games this season and the worrying thing tonight was, things arent working. i really do believe you can play this system but not with players over 30. for me pirlo has been finsihed for 3 yrs, why cant we just TRY and play a game without him he is the player that plays no matter what and gives our midfield fragility. For me boateng is amazing. i also think ibra has done quite well considering he has had none of the ball. he looks like he will score every chance he gets.

we need one new mid and a decent right or left back. Allegri worried me because when we scored he could of changed the game, i would of subbed flamini for gattuso (which he did) but then put boateng in mid and subbed dinho for robinho and played 442.

for me and im to coach i agree but i think this would of given us a better chance of holding and and countering, just look it on paper any combo of ibra, pato and binho in a 442 would be amazing

let me hear your thoughts!

About Pirlo, I still think he has something to give to this club ... but no more as a "regista". He is now useless by playing so far from the attacking players because, after all these years, our opponents know the way Pirlo plays in Milan.

What should be done is to put him in a more forward position.

They really want a 4-3-3 formation, a bit like Barcelona ? You know what ? We have the players to do it ... but they're not used properly.

I don't rate Xavi as a better player than Pirlo, in my opinion, they are even. We don't have an Iniesta-like player, but we have Boateng who is able to push forward and seems technically good enough to dribble one player when it's needed. Just behind them, Flamini would give us some comfort when we lose the ball, and he's also able to push forward sometimes.

I only write about our midfield because it's our main problem nowadays, with Ronaldinho who seems unable to play well on a regular basis again, unfortunately (I had so many hopes for him after the game against Lecce ...).

Nowadays, our team looks like:
GK
Defence
Pirlo

Boateng - Seedorf (or whoever else)
Attack

We need to try something like:
GK
Defence
Flamini
Boateng - Pirlo
Attack

Anyway, if only we could stop this 4-3-3 ...

Excellent Post. I would have done the SAME thing. Same 2 subs, 4-4-2.. would have been well balanced. Hell, I may have STARTED the game like that...

I just watched Inter v Bari game, and I noticed 2 things:

* They have a World Class RB in Maicon who consistently sends good crosses in dangerous areas.. he burns defenders and opens up spaces being unpredictable in final third

* Cambiasso plays box to box (unlike pirlo) ..sets tempo and makes sure Inter play quickly (esp on counter attack)...

these two things is what we lack.

Pirlo should play as a trequartista or be benched..He played best last night when he pushed up...If pirlo can't, use Seedorf or Robinho, if they can't.. then it's time to buy someone who CAN...

* most importantly, and I apologize because I have respect for Ronaldinho because of his great attitude and technical ability, but I don't want him in this team anymore

We are in an all most identical position to where we were under Leonardo last year. In fact, our first 3 games of the season were IDENTICAL. Win, loss, draw.

There are practical reasons why Robinho did not play, though 88 minute seems odd, but, he wasn't even on the bench for our last game. This was Flamini's first appearance of the actual season, he was injured, and was not even on the bench last game. Those are the practical reasons why they did not play, it is not Allegri being an idiot, it's him being smart, and what a proper manager should do.

As for Ronaldinho being the cause of all of our problems, this is getting ridiculous. The problem is that with the way we are playing, without the full use of our weapons, or more importantly without any chemistry, we are failing. But, this game is a significant improvement over our outings against Catania and Cesena.

The team clearly lacks chemistry and I don't know how you can fault that on Allegri, when his latest weapons all came very late in the transfer window. Zlatan and Robinho did not even participate once in pre-season, while Boateng came in mid/late August. So please, calm down, because it is getting ridiculous.

Clearly a midfield of KPB-Pirlo-Flamini will change a lot of things, but I think there is another major positive from this game and from the Auxerre game. Has anyone noticed the quiet resurgence of a certain Zambrotta? I mean, I would much rather have him as our starting RB with Antonini as our LB, and to be honest, Abate was not bad, still raw on tactics, but I think if Zambro can play like he has been playing consistently, we have a huge hole filled.

I'm with Samaldinho. Let's give them time to find the right chemistry and movements. This is the true start of the transition of Milan. This year is phase 1, next year is phase 2. We won't turn into monsters on the field instantly. These things take time and patience.

See now you guys beginning to feel the need for that type of player. I said it from the beginning, this Robinho guy coming is not a big deal. We needed VdV or Honda etc
