what we learnt? when ronaldinho was subbed out, we played sooooo much better, its time to .bench him. we also learnt that gattuso, flamini and robinho can be very important when match fit.. we also learnt that abate and antonini are average fullbacks at best and we must buy new ones.

forza milan, now we go to Amsterdam..
I'd say Abate has noticeably improved his defensive skills. He should get the RB spot in serie A and Zambrotta in CL. As for Antonini, with a fit Ronaldinho he would have linked much better.

Did anyone else see Ibra vomitting after the final whistle? Or did I see it wrong?

One more thing, I really don't think Allegri is up to it as a tactician. Specially if he can come out making comments like Robinho can't last 90 mins.
Totally crap excuse not to start him. Either that or his assistants really suck at physical assessments.

Pirlo's second half was so much better. With R80 off, R70 seemed much better too. The substitution Seedorf for R80 was a smart move, and both Seedorf and R70 moved around and the entire team played so much better.

Flamini was so disappointing today. A few reckless clearance defensively, and two missed goals offensively. I was thinking if we ended up losing points, I would point my fingers to Flamini. Luckily, I didn't have to do that.

I hope that Gattuso is fine. I think this game has shown that if used sparingly, he and Seedorf could be very useful for us. I am hoping that Allegri would do the same to Pirlo and R80.

One more thing to my pleasant surprise: Abate was quite solid defensively today. Was it just me?

we won ugly when we had to..
come on guys, every player goes thru a bad patch sooner or later.
R80 was great last season and the season before that.. he needs time
to pick up form.. its still early season on.. im not saying that they should
still be starters when they are off form, im saying that yeah they should be
benched when they play bad but to xfer them off just for a few bad games is
being way too harsh..

Regarding the fullbacks, sure they are not worldclass but atleast those 2 were solid
DEFENSIVELY which is their primary role. We have a WC midfield to create chances (atleat by reputation that it) and finally a WC forward that still scores when he plays badly at times. Im not complaining since he did score when we need him to =]
Anyway.. chillout people.. 3pts is still 3pts whether u play bad or great and i'll gladly take it even if we play like schoolkids on the playground =D

Totally agree with that. I think working with Nesta has to improve you even if you're a total defensive douchbag. Abate was good on keeping his mark in check and pretty good with his positioning in the box today. Then again, he had Robinho and Prince coming all the way back to the byline to help him out. If he had 'Dinho on his wing, he might have been eaten alive with the lack of support.

Robinho let's passes run and loves thru balls.. whereas Ronaldinho traps the ball and stands on it forever... Huge Difference..

Nesta made Toni looked like a fool and even Abate & Antonini were good at marking. That means Genoa still haven't found the chemistry. Well, Silva was almost invisible.

Gattuso was great, but I think the reasons were Antonini & Dinho around him and he didn't try many more than 10 m passes

4-3-1-2 is great, we know that, but Seedorf can't play like this more than 30 minutes.

Flamini needs to train more with the ball.

I'm very happy with this win! Also with Robinho, he clearly isnt at 100% but he was very lively today!! He will improve and will shine

Zlatan scored a great goal, he played a bad game but he decides the game, it can only get better.

And come on guys, give Flamini a break, he is only recently back from injury and his first shot wouldve gone in if it wasnt touched by that defender. He should have scored that second chance but it can happen, he also will improve.

EDIT: forgot NESTA WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!

I thought we looked great in the last 10 minutes. Milan visibly looked more in control when R80 was subbed for Seedorf. Robinho looked much more relaxed once Dinho left as well.

Flamini on the other hand...

100% agreed. The hold kills things for us. But the run or quick pass was soooo much better.

I actually thought Flamini did really well! It's not his job to score goals, but he did close down a lot of space and made some interceptions.

Pirlo had a great second half, didn't he?

I think we need to sell Ronaldinho. He's turning into a liability.
