Ryo: the lineups never looked too bad for any game this season... on paper and on pitchi are two very different things unfortunately... we're still playing like a newly formed team.... Allegri's quotes have been good showing us that he knows what needs to be done, but hell even my quotes would be as good if I was Milan's coach... we need to start seeing improvement on the field. In pre-season we saw the youth team playing so well, I wonder what has happened to Merkel who could be very important in this midfield. Flamini - Merkel - Boateng and keep Pirlo on the bench. 3 fully dynamic fast players that can all defend and attack.
I read it in gazzeta, the printed edition...

* Rest Zambrotta and Pirlo for sure as they need rest for Champions League.
* Possibly rest Ronaldinho which will make Midfield stronger in a flexible 4-4-2/4-3-1-2 in which You have 3 dynamic midfielders who can protect our defense from a strong Lazio Attack
* Robinho should absolutely start and play off of Ibrahimovic.
* If goals are needed then we can go to 4-3-3 by simply taking off a MF for Inzaghi or Ronaldinho.
* Keep in mind Antonini should be rested next game so he's ready for CL. He's played a lot. It's also possible Nesta may need to be rested. At his age we do not want another injury. All these things play into it. Now there is no strike this weekend, and Genoa is a good team. We can better decide the squad for Genoa obviously once we see this Lazio game..,

Yupp. We'll look something like this:

Abbiati

Zambrotta/Abate - Nesta - Thiago Silva - Antonini

Gattuso - Pirlo - Seedorf

Boateng - Ibra - Dinho.

....

Gattuso in midfield will mean more cover for the attackers, and boateng in attack will mean one more player helping out at the back. And maybe up top he can have some more freedom to attack. Probably not as good an offensive choice as Robinho, but this team needs more balance. Good choice for me.
Flamini and Robinho will be on the bench, so they'll surely make an entrance later on (or god forbid, early on due to injuries).

Its a sad day if all the talent we have on the bench and we start with gattuso, pirlo, seedorf.

Shocked if r70 doesn't play more then 45 min.

Geo I love my 4-3-1-2 idea but ill definitely take your 4-2-3-1 rather then what we have now. But r80 has to play more in the middle.

Ps. Starting to not like allegri.

Actually, like I said when I posted "my" formation, no matter the system, it's all about the will of our players to give their best and run ...
Even Ronaldinho, with some efforts, could play more in the middle and become a Rui Costa-kind of player (not moving too much, but opening spaces for others with one or two dribbles and doing amazing passes). Just that, would allow us to use so many different systems depending on our opponents, and we could use your 4-3-1-2 formation with an astonishing Pato-Ibra front line !!

Definately agree...but I doubt Flamini is match fit....Pirlo also needs a rest, but who do we have to replace him?

Seedorf can play in that position, but I dont think it will happen.

Lazio 2-1 Milan is my prediction.

We wont start to fire until about late Oct, by which time we will be, yet again, be fighting for 3rd place.

I hate to say it, but 2 goals for Ibrahimovic & ACM to win 3-1 or 3-0, if Nesta is feeling well

what winds me up about this Milan is we now have so much attacking depth and arguably you could say a similar thing for the midfield and yet we start midfielders at RW and have to have a weaker and poorer midfield because of this, i finally thought that this season with Binho we had some Pato cover but he wont even get the first 45 mins of the game, if this goes wrong we could have lost this game by HT

Not a bad formation IMO. I was actually hoping that we would see this, instead of the Robinho,Ronaldinho,Ibra trident. Boateng, no matter where he plays (midfield, or wide right up-front) will work and go back. He will also pressure much more then anyone else in the attacking end.

The interesting thing to see will be how we set up in the midfield with Gattuso/Pirlo/Seedorf.

OR....are we playing a 4-4-2?? 4-4-1-1 with Zlatan the furthest up front and Dinho roaming behind him cutting in from the left. If we are then it'll be interesting to see how that midfield will look like on the field since there are no natural wide players in it.

Let's wait and see. Just hope for a great performance and a win......or maybe just a win.

Gattuso, Pirlo Seedorf....

Why do I even bother?

Well, because sometimes, Milan actually surprise me and win a game.
