View Full Version : Transfers After CL Returning
The first target is the replacement of Adriy Shevchenko, the vote of the other poll is still in progress but we also need the official movements of the team. :3band: :3band: :3band: :3band:

Good thread and no its not one of those threads, this is different.
Now we can have ambition. Berlusconi, its about time you flex your muscle, you have no excuse not to. Players also have no excuse to refuse Milan.
DAMN Oh how i wish zambrotta's transfer to barca was delayed a week.. now i will hope for buffon and hope juve sell him to us.. I want CARLITO TEVEZ..lets see what we'll get..
I reckon we will sign Ze Roberto in days, and will find out something on the Gallas saga.
surly buffon will come now! ze roberto not to bothered about and we won't get gallas
I don't think Gallas is coming, although I would forgive him for his heated comments. But I don't think he has the courage to come.
I am hoping for Buffon, and I am regretting that we missed Zambrotta. Was his transfer finalized? Just want to make sure.
we can forget Oddo now... Lotito wasn't selling him when going to B... and will not do it now that they stay in A...
If I could choose: Tevez, and Buffon... that's it...
Buffon and a new RB is really needed, not to forget a striker. Now we can even try this Torres thing. After all, Atletico owes us money. Aldough he said he will stay, we can try. Whatever happens, with this team we cant win CL. We need RB, CM, and a striker. Buffon and possibly CD would be just a bonus. Im hoping for Buffon, Oddo, Ze Roberto, Ibrahimovic/Torres. It wouldnt be bad to try to sign Bonera or even better Barzagli.
i would go for Buffon , Tevez and Sorin wouldn't mind :)
with Buffon, we could play Serginho-Costacurta-Simic-Cafu. :D
... can we? :tong:
im sure Carlo thinks we can... :)
with Buffon, I could play CB, mrki LB, Xudong RB and we would still be OK :)

Is it official we are back in in the UCL?
If so, I would go afterTevez (he wants out, and his team wouldnt mind selling him).
Buffon. Germany 2006 proved again how much valueable its to have a top tier GK.
A right defensive back, thats for sure.
And some other gift from Berlu. I still wouldnt be that much comfortable with Tevez (assuming we get), Gila, Pippo and Amoroso.
BTW: Is Fernando Torres now an option?
yes it's official :) and we could go for tevez
but Torres just sad that he wants to countinoue his career with atletico mad.
All words are not to be trusted (I mean of the players', not about the verdicts. :D). Not that I like Torres though, I would rather take Tevez than the Spanish youngster. The long saga tires me and I failed his potential even though he did score three goals in WC.
And d@mn SANT :D for closing that 'calciopoli' thread already. :D I still had an open question there un-answered: Will Inter get the 05-06 Scudetto? Zlatanov mentioned that nobody got it; I read (from a Chinese site) that the decision is still pending for a few more days; Some guys in Inter forum already started to celebrate.
Who could answer me please? :)
P.S. Was that CALCIOPOLI thread re-opened? What is going on? :grinser:
sorry, I meant to merge the thread created by Dil Dil into the main one, and by accident did it the other way around... haha, hey, I am new at this...
it's open again... :P
Congratulations on your new job. :D
I will try my best to make it a bit harder for you.... :D :guw:

Well, now our must get to work hard and fast on the transfer department, since we need to seriously reinforce our squad. We need at least a RB, a Keeper, a multifunctional midfielder and a Striker, that is to say, for new players.
My choice would be:
Buffon
Oddo
Sneijder
Torres
I believe we have a serious chance in getting Buffon. He wants CL football and he'll remain in the top flight. Also, we need help on the wings in defense. A replacement for Cafu on the right is necessary and a replacement for Serginho or Kaladze on the left is needed also. A realistic replacement for Cafu is Oddo, and for Serginho or Kaladze would be Ashley Cole or Gabriel Heinze. A central partnership of Nesta and Gallas would also be good. In the midfield I think we are good, but I think we should add offensive minded players. Obviously, we also need a replacement for Sheva and a reliable backup. Luca Toni would be ideal, but I think he's heavily linked with Inter. If Inter signs him other possible guys would be: Crespo, Suazo, Torres, Drogba, and RVN. I would personally go with RVN and Crespo.
06/07 Lineup:
-----Buffon/Dida-----
Cafu/Oddo----------Nesta--------Gallas----------Cole/Heinze/Kaladze
Gattuso---Pirlo----Seedorf/Gourcuff
---- Kaka-----
Crespo/Gila-----Drogba/RVN

I think we will get Crespo back (not that I want him) and maybe bring another striker.
The good thing is we are a UCL club and now that this Calciopoli thing is behind us, we will hit the market.
oddly, I prefer Crespo to Torres. :D OK, I expect a lot of people firing at me now. :D

Crespo for Amoroso will be fine, but as replacement for Shevchenko, considering that we're back on CL, is something derrisory.
Just remember how many goals from Sheva saved us in the last minutes, how many solo shots won us so many points and so on...how many times sheva played AM and not CF! He used to play even RW at some moments when we were defending.Sheva cant be replaced by a non moving striker like Trezeguet, Toni, Crespo and so on...... Think tactically people. Our formation needs a player that can help building AND finishing off the attacks. Players like Torres, Tevez, oe even Ibrahimovic at his best can do just that.
I guess you got what you wished for Grenoli :)
Top Flight Football since we got back to UCL, and along with that, worthy replacement for our only Andriy Shevchenko.....
To be honest, I really don't know who is worthy enough to replace him though.....
well i still say that henry is the only one to replace sheva. but the gone we hope for the 2nd best thing.as for our midfield kaka is staying, pilro is back , gattuso (amazing world cup) , so a new sub wouldnt hurt (ze roberto), a new rb cafu cant do anymore (too bad we missed zambrotta), and buffon.
any i wouldnt mind these:-(offcorse with vogel, janku, kalac , and dida going)
Striker:- Tevez,Torres,Ibrahmovic. plus Cresspo for amuroso
MidField:- Snieder, wilhelmshon, maxi rodrigez. plus ze roberto
RightBack:- Oddo, heitinga, perea. plus anyone but gallas.(cuz i hate him)
GoalKeeper:- Buffon. offcorse with having coppola. but i may be asking for frey as a sub.
would mind
Srtiker:- RVN, Torres, And Drogba.
MidField:- i dunoo just dont try viera.
RB/CB :- Gallas
GK:- Get rid of dida.
btw.... its stupid to sell abiati. even our team is good for qualifying matches.
DIDA
Favali
Nesta
Maldini
Cafu
Pirlo
Gattuso
Gourcuf
Kaka
Foggia
Gila
LOlOL
Gallas isn't a RB or a LB. Many don't understand Gallas wants to play CB!! In the 04/05 season he was forced to play LB because of the injury to Wayne Bridge. That's when he was linked to Arsenal and Barcelona. He flourished in CB with the likes of Desailly and more recently John Terry. First off, Gallas and Terry in the center of the defense once went 16 games without conceding a goal!! So, Gallas will only come if he plays CB.
oddly, I prefer Crespo to Torres. :D OK, I expect a lot of people firing at me now. :D
Also, Crespo is proven to be a good fit at Milan as he played excellent for us.

not just that but we also need to get an experienced striker who would guarantee us CL goals. We can't afford to load the team with more or less unproven youngsters - both torres and Tevez fit into this category as they both lack CL experinece and in Tevez's case European experience in general. right now we have only Pippo who fits the bill as Gila is yet to open his acount in Europe's CL.
No matter wheter we decide to go for Tevez or Torres, and older experineced player like Crespo, Trez, Klose is a must IMO. Ibrahimovic would also be an interesting solution but that's provided that he finds his old self and this could be way too many IFs for a team like Milan, at least in the short run.

That's right, my friend!
But we also need a top flight frame of mind, the desire to really break BIG as we get back on track with a CL spot! I guess the board now will understand that, and we'll feature heavily on the market purchasing top class players.
BTW, Milany mentioned an excellent RB that I forgot to quote on my firtst post here: Heitinga
So I would stick to Buffon, Heitinga, Diarra / Sneijder, Torres.
oddly, I prefer Crespo to Torres. :D OK, I expect a lot of people firing at me now. :D
Agreed as well. I'd rather spend the remaining 20-30M on Gallas and Diarra. We need another world class striker, but I don't think there are any available at the moment. Crespo can help for this year. Perhaps pick up another decent striker for cheap - like Suazo. Torres isn't worth the money, IMO. Henry would be, but he's not available.
oddly, I prefer Crespo to Torres. :D OK, I expect a lot of people firing at me now. :D
no, I agree. Not a long-term solution of course but we have a late start and hernan would be very acceptable to me, and judging by news reports, very acceptable to him as well.
we can forget Oddo now... Lotito wasn't selling him when going to B... and will not do it now that they stay in A...

I personally think Buffon and Oddo are probable transfers.
Suazo and/or Crespo have a good chance of coming here.
We need:
1) A new GK---Buffon is definitely top of the list, but if Juve insist on making it difficult, Amelia would be a great option as well
2) RB---We DESPERATELY need some solutions here. Cafu is not fit enough to last an entire season (or an entire game IMO). Oddo would be a great signing.
3) CB---If Kaladze continues in the CB role (which i think he should), then I dont think we necessarily need a new CB. We already have Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze, Billy...I think that's sufficient both in terms of quality and experience....definitely experience :)
4) LB---Unless we start playing Jankulovski at LB, we need to get someone on challenge Serginho. Zambro would have been a great addition, but we need to start looking around. Grosso would have been good too, but he'll probably flop at Inter and sign for us later :). I cant think of any good LB's at the moment, ideas anyone?
4)MF---We need an all round quality midfielder who can step in and play either Seedorf or Pirlo's role. Or better yet, if we tweak our formation, we can get somebody in to stand next to Pirlo in front of the back four and provide cover. Diarra and Vieira definitely fit the bill, but dont look like realistic options. How about Appiah? I thought he played a great WC.
5) AMC----Gourcuff/Kaka---no problems there....
6) FW---We desperately need a quality forward. Pippo/Gila are great, but not enough to compensate for the loss of Sheva. If we are to spend money, we ought to do it here. Get a young, quality forward who can ensure us a long-term solution. Torres, Tevez, Ibrahimovic would be great.

I have a strong feeling, Viera will come to Milan
The midfield is pretty fine IMO. We need 1-2 strikers.. 1 proven and 1 promising youngster. Buffon, RB, CD, LD
zlatanov

Actually, I think we do need a CB as Maldini's fitness is quite questionable and Billy may be able to play vs bottom Serie A teams but in CL, I doubt it. Hope we do get a CB although I have a feeling we won't. One of Thuram, Canna, Gallas would have been great but they are all gone now.
LB - Sorin I think is a very good choice and I think Villarreal wnated to cash in on him. But I think we are well covered there - Sergio, Favalli, and even janku, Maldini, Kakha can play LB if needed.
MF - Ze Roberto is a player who can replace Seedorf and maybe even Pirlo and gattuso. He is a must IMO given that he is free. Maxi Rodriquez would be a great signing I think but I would consider him more of a luxury. Come to think of it, Appiah would be a very good alternative to defensive MF like Diarra. But that would mean either Ambro or more likely Vogel would have to go first.
So wait.. what'll happen to all the midfielders we have now.. foggia etc.. what'll you do with them ?
For RB -- Perea! :)
He can play the RCB too so that should take care of that, with him rotating with Cafu and Kaladze playing as CB, altho if we wanted to play with Perea at CD and Cafu isn't ready we'd need another RB. So Perea + Rafinha and we are fine........and broke :)
Elsewhere Ze Roberto -- Carlo said he wants him, he should take care of the "all round quality midfielder". Who did Carlito want besides zR? Was it Emerson? He's gone anyway. We're Bill Gates kinda well of besides this.
Ehm, the strikeforce? Anyone :) I like Boriello, I'll back him up in here too, he's worthwilely (I'm sure i spelled worth-wile-ly wrong). GnL? You live in Brazil and you haven't mentioned a young Brailian striker a single time! do IT!! (Sorry if you did, I wasnt following sum threads)...But a young Brazilian striker from Brazil (and some gravy please).

I simply cannot believe that you think we can play CL with winning chances based on an attacking force formed by Gila, Crespo, Inzagui and Amoroso...
BTW: Great post, RT9, that's the spirit: we must have ambition if we want to succeed! Milan will have to spent heavily, there's not other way: we need at least 4 new players (a keeper, a RB, a multifunctional MF, a ST), but 5 or 6 new faces (including a LB, or one more all round MF, and a replacement for Amoroso) wouldn't hurt.

Borrielo? You gotta be kidding, dude...
Emerson? Thank GOD he's already sold for Barça, the guy is a worthless old boar!
A new brazilian striker? Hmmm... Fred or Kerlon, but I still prefer Torres over them.
So wait.. what'll happen to all the midfielders we have now.. foggia etc.. what'll you do with them ?
a daaaark destiny awaits theeem ;)
:djn:
P.S. What a bout Diego Tardelli for a striker?
And Fabio Aurelio or Arne Riise for LB? And Ehmm, Masherano for the MF?
Sign Oddo, Ibrahimovic, and Ze Roberto
We need to sign.. Oddo, Tevez, Barzagli, CD&RB combo.
Milan need the replacement for Shevchenko... Tevez & Ibrahimoivic are great players. Maybe those palyers not good as Sheva, but they still very young...
I think Ze Roberto is great for Milan... If he comes, Milan can play 3 players behind Gilardino or Inzaghi. With Seedorf, Kaka & Ze Roberto...
Why play Ze Roberto when we have Gourcuff/Foggia who can accomplish the same thing ?
Actually, I think we do need a CB as Maldini's fitness is quite questionable and Billy may be able to play vs bottom Serie A teams but in CL, I doubt it. Hope we do get a CB although I have a feeling we won't. One of Thuram, Canna, Gallas would have been great but they are all gone now.

Good point. I completely forgot about Favalli. I guess the management was one step ahead, as always (and especially involving free players :)) I'm hoping that Janku comes good this year and holds down a starting place at left back. I have my doubts as to whether Sergio can give us the necessary consistency over a full season. I would prefer to see him come off the bench or start in our serie a "rest" games, i.e. pre or post major CL games....
As for Ze Roberto. I completely forgot about him as well. I guess the transfer rumours died down quite rapidly once the WC ended. But he would be the answer to our midfield problems. He will increase our quality, versatility, and squad depth. It'll be awesome if we could move Gattuso next to Pirlo in front of the back four (just like Italian NT) and put Ze Roberto next to Seedorf in midfield....
As for Appiah, I've always wondered why a player of his quality cannot find a top club to play for. His Juve days were quite good IMO. It was just that towards the end, he just couldnt get a game. He's too good for Turkish football, I can tell you that...
I want us to play that formation.. only with Kaka and Gourcuff instead of Seedorf/Ze Roberto.. and where Totti played.. play a withdrawn more creative striker(Tevez) behind our finisher Gila.
the whole calciopolli thing made you think you're a fortuneteller, ha? :tong: :D
Hi Zlat,
Don't mind to become an amateur fortuneteller like I did in the Discussion/moggiopoli page 136 which is nearly precise except the - points
Buffon may come as Dida will be sold immediately cause he's "too arogant" not willing to extend his contract which will expired in 2007. So, better get some money or just exchange Dida with Buffon + some cash to Juve :wow:
Honestly say, I personally think that the only striker that can be closely compared to $heva is only Henry...so sorry he already sticked to Arsenal for another season. We do need a good striker very badly cause we can't only depend on Gila, Pippo and Amoroso (who I think is only a "supporter" of Milan and not really a striker instead...no heartfeeling please..)
So, rather than guessing and act as a fortuneteller like you said..we'd better wait for Berlusconi and Braida for their quick and correct action to sign proper players we need to reinforcing our squad. :firedev: :firedev: :firedev:
RB or LB is not too urgently needed if we have Buffon as GK.....we can wait till January mercato for these position.

apparently lotito and our reps were discussing Oddo yesterday, lotito wants a sale to get funds for Di vaio... Defender wise its hard, gallas was keen but went stroppy when france lost.... Canini is very good, when i saw him play he reminded me of a young cannavaro, but he is very young!. Barzagli is also good but Zamperini hates Milan... Bonera is always an option as he can play cb and rb..Pasquale is good as a lb, so much so that Juve were trying to get him last season!
Midfield i would like to see De Rossi, but i doubt that would happen now.. see how things go..
upfront i think one of the best options would be Suazo, he is competely different to Inzaghi and Gilardino... has pace and drive for goal... Torres would still be really cool, renember that sheva said he wasnt going anywhere... Milan just needs to bid and see.. altho Torres costs alot, we wouldnt have to worry about our Main strikers for a while...
Goalies
Buffon, Amelia,
Defenders
Canini, Pasquale, Bonera, Barzaghi, Oddo
Midfield
De Rossi (i doubt he would leave), Diarra,

Negative and intelligence???? Come on, it is everyone's right to be upset and disappoint over the past few months. And I am actually glad to see people expressing their opinions more freely here than just hold it in and just agree with what most people are saying. This forum is made for all Milan fans or other club fans to share their opinions.
essentials are the full backs and a striker.
if we're stretched for the other positions we shouldn't just look to add players for the sake of it. Ze Roberto, Buffon and Gallas should be actively pursued but if we failed to get any of them then it wouldn't be a huge loss.
The defense needs sorting out big time though. A mixture of experience and youth should be brought in.
The other really important thing is that we spend some $$$ on a striker, as much from a marketing standpoint as a team one. Milan's reputation is in tatters, people mock our old defense, the calciopoli, we lost our iconic striker. We need a sign of intent, big money striker should do that. We need people going "oh ****, milan signed Tevez/Torres." or someone equivalent.
Negative and intelligence???? Come on, it is everyone's right
Same old story~~~
IMO realistic sigings :
Goalkeeper :
-Probably Buffon , but I think there is a good chance of us sticking with Dida.
If we buy him I think the sum will be around 20-30mil €.
Defenders :
-RB : I think since Lazio now needs money , they will eventually let go of Oddo.( if we would pay 5-6mil € ) But it's very well possible we don't get a RB , since Berlu is planning on letting Brocchi play RB.
-CB : Barzagli seems very realistic now , Palermo is out of CL and we're in it , I guess 5-6mil € will also be enough.
-LB : A good LB is hard to find , but I think we're fine as it is on LB.
(Janku , Serginho , Maldini )Maybe we could buy a LB from a small club and let him gain experience , so he will be a great LB for us on long term.:)
Midfielders
-I think we will get Ze Roberto , he's desperatly looking for a good club and if he doesn't want a starting spot in the squad , he can come. :rotfl:
He's free and not bad at all.
-Diarra would be a great siging , I don't know what his asking price is exactly , but Lyon knowing , that won't be low.
-Mascherano , some story as Diarra , but also very expensive.
-De Rossi , maybe he has become realistic now , since we're back in CL. :)
We could throw in Amoroso , in the deal. :5love:
Forwards
-Tevez is a great option , maybe even realistic :).
His desire is big to leave Corinthians , if Milan show interest and enough cash , I think there is a chance of him coming. But we'll probably have to spend 40mil €.Maybe we could involve Amoroso in this deal?
-Torres is staying at Atletico Madrid , I think. He would be a great siging but I think he's not fond of leaving Spain.
-Crespo , we could snap him pretty "cheap" , but my idea would be to replace Amoroso with him , but I don't think he's going to like that. :tongue1:

Here is where I want us to reinforce:
GK: Buffon - definitely numero uno, exchanging with dida then...
DF: Gallas - he played really well in the world cup, and as a CB, I think we can lure him away from U.K since he is desperate to play CB
DF: Miguel - he is good at attacking as well as defending, next RB, dare to try him? :w262:
F : Zlatan - he can play upfront alongside Gila as well as playing behind strikers, get him before interna'sick'nale does
FORZA MILAN !!! 2 teams we 're gonna beat this season BARCA & CHELSEA :swars:
:5schal:
All Milan players have been urgently called up to Milanello due to CL qualifications. Galliani will wisit players and he says he'll talk to them and motivate them to catch up the -8 points untill december. On the other side, Juve director said they never spoke to Milan about Buffon, which I doubt its true. ANd, Juve says Cannavaro transfer isnt finished! Now we must react fast and bring quality fullback, midfielder and FORWARD!

Yeah, some pretty curious statements from Juves president. Just wonder what would happen if Juve and Real dont reach an agreement and we move in and sign Canna - whats he gonna say this time: "Milan is the most prestigious club in the world" which is what he said at his Real M official presentation. He would be one lucky guy - to have two childhood dreams of his come true in a matter of less than a week is nothing short of magic ;)
What a curious statement but doesn't surpise me. So then what is the status of Zambrotta & Barca? Has he officially signed?
Nope....i guess canna has been officially presentated in Bernabeu....

If someone can translate this in short note I would appriciate it. Im not sure if Deschamps wants them to stay or he is saying they are all staying.

not just that but we also need to get an experienced striker who would guarantee us CL goals.
I'm not 100% sure if I'd call it a must, though it would be ideal. We already have Pippo whose calibre in Europe is stunning, plus Gila has now experienced Europe (even if he's yet to score) and therefore will be more prepared.
I hope Berlu will now spend big and smart.....
and i'm hoping the team will not be far from this one
--------------------------BUFFON

Fingers crossed
You'd actually take Rino out now?

I think Nirvana was referring to the players we have to add to the already existing squad, not necessarily the starting 11. At least that's what my impression is.
Well I've posted my preferred starting 11 many times.. but this is what I'll like to see. Gattuso deserves to stay IMO. He was one of the first to declare his desire to stay even in Serie B.. and he and Pirlo have developed a chemistry in midfield :)

I agree with Buffon but still Dida is not bad and not bad at ALL !!!!
While Tevez is a one man show. I dont know what happened with Rodreguez i think with Peppo they would make a great duet.
I also vote for Zaltan :diablo:
I was really hoping for Henry :5ok:
Its interesting to notice WHY Pirlo and Gattuso played so well for Italian team..... its becouse itali mostly played in 4-3-2-1 formation, and this is what was happening in there....
PIRLO - pirlo has relatively week defensive effect, but his passing and leadership is brilliant. Italian team had 3 strong players around him ( Perotta, Gattuso and Camoranesi ), fullbacks vere moving really well, so he could spread his passes well. He just needed to follow up a very good movement by totti, camoranesi and mosty grosso and spread his game around. Also, he wasnt always in deeper role, as Gattuso and Perotta covered up . As Carlo said, Pirlo needs more protection to play his natural game of light passing. Also, Camoranesi, Perotta not only play good defence, they can create, and can take the pressure off the pirlo as the opponents cant man mark just him.
Now, in Milan we have some problems with that. Kaka' cant defend, and Seedorf lost some of his old power ( maybe no.10 will help now ). Our fullbacks werent moving well, well, serginho did but Stam isnt RB and Cafu simply cant do it anymore. Pirlo needs moving players around him so he can create game plan. He needs protection and rotation of CM players. That is what we need to do more do get the best out of pirlo. unprotected and unbalanced midfield is not going to help Pirlo work his magic.
Gattuso - in Milan Rino plays in 4-1-2-1-2 team. Along with Seedorf he holds CM of the field. In Italy, Gattuso simply got the ball and mostly passed it to pirlo, camoranesi or Totti, he didnt play as wide on the right side as he is playing at Milan. Milans opponents simplay man mark Pirlo na Kaka as they know Gattuso cant create. Only with exceptional RWB Gattuso can play at the position he is playing right now at Milan. When he is playing more central he becomes more useful. That is why I think 4-5-1 is more usefull for Milan. with Pirlo playint deeper role, and with Gattuso close to him, we can pass better, have more man in the middle, and with offensive Fullbacks we can move the ball better. It is not smart to give Rino too much creative freedom, as he really cant do that. this would be my lineup....
..........................buffon/dida( doesnt matter that much...).............
oddo ( attacking RB, can move well and create )---nesta---kaladze--marek( same as oddo )
------------------------pirlo-----------
--------------gattuso------sedorf-----
-------kaka(this position he plays for Brazil)-gourcuff( if he is such a talent)/ serginho----
--------------------Gila/pippo-----------------
this way we can go down the flanks, through the centre, pass and hold the ball well, play patient game, and still be dengerous.
Its interesting to notice WHY Pirlo and Gattuso played so well for Italian team..... its becouse itali mostly played in 4-3-2-1 formation, and this is what was happening in there....
And that's why people here should stick their head out at the game plan or tactics of each game before they criticize the coach or the players. Look, it's Ancelotti's all time favorite and people hve been asking the management to sack Carlo.

Unfortunately I don't think Buffon is an option, nor is Ibra, but that's a good thing.
I think we should sign Amelia as a backup to Dida, and get rid of Kalac & Fiori.
I think our lb spot maybe more important than rb, as Janku can play rb, as well as lb, but Serginho, as gud as he is, is not getting any younger. Having said that I'd go for Pasqual & Oddo.
Midfield I think we have good numbers, but not enough options on the pure defensive side due to Ambro's regular injuries, and & Vogel's non-selection. I'd go for Diarra & promote a youngster like Piazza into the first team squad.
Upfront IMO we need 5 strikers, possibly 6, but moreso players who can operate good on the channels. Crespo should be brought back, go for Suazo & Farfan, let Amoruso go, and promote Weah Jr.

Very interesting! But Pirlo has another problem: his durability. In a 60 matches season (like our next campaign can last), he just can't play more than 44/45. Otherwise his production will fall and he'll look tired on the pitch.
Im hoping for Tevez (have been impressed with him every time I have seen him and we need a striker who can dribble etc like Sheva could to play alongside gila/pippo who are finishers but not exceptional in aspects such as dribbling and setting up goals)
Buffon would be a great signing but if we don't get him I would be happy to keep faith with Dida who on his day is still one of the best around.
Gallas fingers crossed.
A young centre back with potential would be Canini of Caligari ... very promising
Oddo would be a good sub right back. Its unfortunate we missed out on Zambrotta though.
midfield I think we are well covered especially if the proposed transfer of Ze Roberto goes ahead.
Diarra or Maschenro would not be bad though!

True; but the WC is also a very intensive competition; and you don't see Prlo showing a sign of fatigue. That's another interesting thing to observe.

That's exactly what I've been talking about since ages: the symbolical level is a very important matter on a society dominated by media trends as that of ours, we cannot overlook that.
Well, Tevez just got in trouble with Corinthians... after being down 2-1 vs. Fortaleza, he scored the equalizer and ran to Gavioes Da Fiel (Corinthians Ultras) with his finger in front his lips (ssshhhhhhhhhh)....
the fans didn't like it one bit, and waited for him at the parking lot... they kicked his car, and still ask for an apology from Tevez...
Tevez said he wouldn't apologize, and that if he was not being supported he could consider the options he's being offered outside...
so maybe this is the time...
looks like this is the best time to make a offer to him :) he is not happy in Corinthias and fans aren't with him to at this moment( in base of what sant sad ) ..
he is great and young player and milan need so much the replacement for $hevchenko
I think we will get Oddo in defence, Crespo in attack... these will be this seasons "major" signings... Maybe Foggia will stay...
I read a lot, some i think you demand too much, many in quantity players, others you are too.... "mean" i can say. My opinion is that:
1) Buffon, Buffon said that he wants to stay in Juve but if Berlusconi wants to buy him, he will do it (remember: Nesta, Rivaldo cases). But if we will take Buffon, we must sell Dida, it isnt old, he was in good shape with Brazil, so.... we must take some money if we will not have him in our squad.
2) Defense, someone said we are ok Maldini, Bily, come on.... i Love capitano but he cant play as he used to.. we need at least a good CB otherwise we should go to the hospitals which are for very old men. Barzali i didnt see him even in the Seri A even in the world cup but as far you all believe him, he must be good. As far as Right back the problem is the greatest of all in defence. Cafu is one of the greatest RB ever in the world we must have taken him ealier but he show in the world cup that he doesnt have the stamina.. to play i would propose even let him or sell him or play in a few games. Seitaridis the Greek would be a great signining but he sign for Atletico Madrid, i believe in him very much is one of the most talented plyers of my national team won the Euro 2004 and he is one of the best RB in the world along with Paolo Fereira, Miguel will not be bad. Left back sergihno, Jankulofski, even Paolo, we may need a greater, but the problem is not as big as in the right part.
In the midfield Milan has one of the best lines in the world, but.... Rui Costa went away and Pirlo (was great in World cup), Gatusso, Kaka, Seedorf cant play all the games in three tournaments. We need a quality player... Van de Vaart (i know it's very difficult), someone great, to add even more shine in our midfielder.
In Offense.... Adriy was unbelievable, my favourite. I agree with those taking Crespo for replacement with Inzaghi and buying one of the greatest to play along with Gila. I agree that Sheva was playing all around so we mus take a "mooving" striker or change the way we play and buy Toni (i vote for him), Adriano. Has anybody know what is happening with Cavenaghi? Saviola is a great player but i dont know if he can play in a big team... as Milan.
I didnt have the best of opinions about Ze Roberto, but in World cup changed my view, he would come and he can play in three positions as left back, as left midfielder even as diffensive midfielder,
Carlo after so many dissapointments, he must take into account that Milan needs a bit refreshment to return dunamically in titles. Whatever he has a lot of job to do....

Yeah, Im not feeling good either about this situation. The only positive is that tomorrow we will have the final say...
Speaking about Tevez, this is the latest:
He said its very probable he leaves Corinthians. He stated that his daughter and wife are terrified after what happened last sunday, and they are the most important thing to him. He will never take them again to the stadium.
This being said, the problem between him and the fans has come to an end.
Lazio apparently want 12 million euros for Oddo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wth: WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
How on earth can they justify that price, that's ridiculous. Grosso went to Inter for £4 million and he's a few years younger and was an integral part of the world cup. In comparison Oddo should be a similar if not cheaper price. To suggest otherwise is ludicrous. If we were to accept that or even offer 8 million euros, we'd be taken for a ride.
I'm getting sick of all these stupid complications in our transfer campaign. Why can't it be like this ?
Milan: We want Gorky, we'll give you 3 million euros
Rennes: No
Milan: We'll give you 3.5 million euros
Rennes: Deal.

there was a thing about that on calciomercato.. think lazio will deal at 8 mill euros.. we shouldnt pay more than £6 mill on him really...
I would say £4 - £5 million tops. I'd throw Simic into the deal if it kept the price down. There's no way we should be spending that kind of money on him.

I am not sure how the question with home-grown and/or Italian players in the CL stands, but for this money we could get a younger and better player like Miguel or Alvez, and even reveilliere. Not to mention that Trabelsi is free and I think he still is without a club.
Grosso and Oddo are basically the same age, but I think Lazio is aware that Milan want Oddo for the CL because he is Italian and comes from the Milan youth academy, and they are simply trying to milk us as much as they can.
How many Italians do we need to have in the squad/1st team ? I know there were introductions made by UEFA that after a certain time x amount were needed and then 2-3 years later a larger amount was needed.
Graeme C
27-07-2006, 08:19
we have to have at least 5 italians ( who played in our youth team) in the squad, im not sure about starters tho...
5 Italians that played in our youth team ? That's insane. I take it we have Costacurta & Maldini and then i'm stumped. Foggia would be another one, so loaning him out would be a mistake. Brocchi ? Ambrosini ?
This is a stupid rule in my opinion. A set amount of Italians in the squad is fair enough, but to say they HAVE to come from the youth team is idiotic.

From what I read on http://www.uefa.com/Competitions/UCL/Format/newsId=316773.html (there is a PDF file with the rgilations), there is no limitation on non-Italian players. here is how I understand the regulations:
every club can register no more than 25 players of whom 21 players are "free players" (no restiction on nationality or anything like that) while the remaining 4 players are what they call "locally-trained players", which are devided into "club-trained players" (players who have been registered for at least 3 years - consecutive or not - with Milan between the ages of 15-21) and "association-trained players" (players who have been registered for at least 3 years - consecutive or not - with a club from the same national association as Milan's i.e. players who have played/been registered with other Italian clubs for 3 years between the ages of 15-21).
So, what "locally-trained players" refers to is basically what we call players who are product of the youth academy. The thing is that we need only 2 such players - "club-trained players" - from Milan's youth academy, the other 2 can be "association-trained players" i.e. players, who come from the youth academies of any other Italian club, not just Milan's.
Also, the nationality of these 4 "locally-trained players" is irrelevant i.e. it's not necessary that they are italian nationals.
I couldn't find any info on a possible limitation of the number of non-italian nationals (foreign players), so I believe we can field as many foreigners as we wish.
So, with Maldini and Ambro alone we would fill the "club-trained players" requirement, while with any of the other Italian players, we would fill the "association-trained players" requirement as long they were registered with an Italian club for 3 years - consecutive or not - between the ages of 15-21, which should be the case for all of them - Pirlo, Gattuso, Foggia, Coppolla, Pippo, Gila, Brocchi etc, etc.
Corinthians: Tevez Admits He Could Be Leaving
With Corinthians (20th – 10) beached at the very bottom of the Brazilian first division, Carlitos Tevez has confirmed the Timão faithful’s worst fears and signalled that he may be on the verge of a move away from the Parque São Jorge in the near future.
Despite having met with the huge organised supporters’ group Gaviões da Fiel (Hawks of the Faithful), ‘El Apache’ Tevez has hinted that he may be forced into leaving Corinthians for family motives, although added that he wants to stay and help refloat Corinthians to the top of the table.
“I was really annoyed on Saturday [after the record-breaking seventh defeat in a row], they [angry fans] surrounded my car and I had my daughter [Florência] and my wife [Vanesa] inside. That’s when I thought that I’ll leave Corinthians, and it’s going to be difficult to stay here.”
“They’re [wife and daughter] really scared and these sort of things aren’t easy to just forget”, said the number 10 who specifically called the press conference to announce his intention to leave Corinthians, although he didn’t give any ultimatum nor a specific date.
Seeing the impact of his words and the amount of raised eyebrows amongst the gathered reporters, Tevez mellowed his irritation. “I want to stay, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve also got a responsibility to listen to my family. Actually I think I could stay as I’m the head of the family” he added, turning raised eyebrows into perplexed, furrowed brows.
The Argentine’s current Corinthians contract expires in December, although the MSI backers of the Parque São Jorge team have an option to extend the deal for another three years if Tevez agrees. On Staurday the angry player made a point of saying that he wasn’t short of offers to play in Europe.
“They’re the teams that have already come up in the papers. Chelsea, Sevilla, Manchester and Inter [Milan]”, said the player who immediately denied even the slimmest possibility of going to a rival club. “Palmeiras, River [Plate] and São Paulo; no way. Any other team in the world except those three. I’d prefer to retire than play
So here we are.... maybe we can go for him? He played wonderfull at the WC, his technique is perfect, he can create and would combine well with Kaka', like Sheva did. But I havent seen anything connecting him with us. Carlo and Galliani decided to go for Ibra, he wants Juve exit, so I believe HE will be rossonero.
Well, that clears that up Zlat :googly: :D
I would hope our management team are all over this Tevez situation with Leonardo leading the way. His contract runs out in December, he doesn't have to agree to a new one forcing Corinthians to sell and at a lower price. The teams he mentions all have an Argentinian connection, so that may work against us, but i don't think it would be much of a setback. We should act now, even if it means not getting him until January.
Buy Suazo now for a cheap-ish (compared to others) amount and agree a deal with Corinthians to buy Tevez in January. That leaves Tevez the rest of the year to fight it out for his club to get them back near the top.
THe issue here, though, is not whether the MIlan management will go for ANY player. It's about whether MIlan will play in the all-but-about-luck Champion League.
Granted Jeff, but if we don't get in does that mean we have to settle for sub par players for next season?
Which would really be a waste of money wouldn't it.
Granted Jeff, but if we don't get in does that mean we have to settle for sub par players for next season?

OH of course, but the problem is that you don't want to spend the $$$ randomly on a famous player who can't deliver. In that sense, we buy the player just for the sake of buying, not for the team.
BUt of course, we need 1 more striker. And if we don't (REALLY), perhaps we'll see a year of Christmas tree formation? :)
I wouldn't mind the christmas tree formation. Having two of Kaka, Foggia & Gorky behind Gilardino would be nice to see. Especially if we got Diarra to go along with Pirlo & Gattuso as the midfield 3.
I doubt Silvio would approve though.
If we do somehow get Diarra, I cant see him sit on the bench. And I cant also see Pirlo or Gattuso on the bench, so X-mas tree formation could be a solution.

Milan, pronto ad offrire Foggia per Oddo
http://www.calciomercato.it/dettaglioNewsCategoria.asp?hdnIdCategoria=2&hdnId=3916
____
That note states that we are ready to include Pasquale Foggia on a deal to get Oddo... for cryin' out loud, this is pathetic... why a POWERFUL club like Milan has to sacrifice a young prospect in order the lower the price tag of a transfer?!? Damn, we have the necessary money to pick reinforcements without sacrificing the squad's depth!!!
Its obvious something is vrong with our transfering policy. What, I dont know, but we are not functioning right. This is not a good move. Loaning would be ok, even 50% ownership, but giving Lazio Foggia for Oddo + money is not a good deal.

common sense says that if there is so much money involved, Milan isn't offering Foggia to Lazio in a permanent deal but on loan for a year or two. Let's wait for other sources to come up with more details of the proposal, if it exists at all - note that calciomercato.it is NOT the same as calciomercato.com ;), and then start sacking Galliani.

anyway, giving Foggia on permanent basis to Lazio is not a good move. Foggia could be a really good winger in few years.
I think that even to loan a youngster like Foggia is not only a bad move, but a whole DISASTROUS move... come on, we need squad depth, we need tatical, technical and physical options, don't we EVER learn that we can't face simultaneously Serie A and an european competition (being CL or UEFA Cup) with an old and small squad?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? And why would you hate it when it was so successful? Of course I'm not against using 2-man attack; but perhaps you can explain more why you think the Xmas tree formation is not your favorable one. That will certainly enhance the quality of your post!
It's very simple: 'cause we are AC MILAN, if you for instance had forgotten, we are NOT some abysmal punny side from Guatemalas's fourth division! And I know, I'll say that France and Italy and etc, etc, etc. played like that on the WC and 'yada yada yada', but I don't give a damn for that, 'cause that WC was surely one the of worst of all times, a veritable display of NIGHTMARISH football in terms of creativity and beauty. Football is not only some stone cold dead business, football is an art destined to enchant and entertain the fans!!!

GNL, see I agree with most of what you say. We are not some absmal punny side from Guatemalas's fourth division; and I'm not talking about this world cup.
4-3-2-1 has a unique characteristic that 4-3-1-2 doesn't give. First, you have 2 playermakers who can deliver the ball to the lone striker. That means, if Kaka` doesn't deliver, then the other AMC or MC will do. Second, you have a more protective side for Pirlo; this is because whoever is the second AMC will be able to cover more space in the midfield ( in terms of defense), and which allows more room for Pirlo.
Now of course there is drawback; 1 striker may not be enough to confuse a 4-man defense and whoever is the lone striker will be 'really' lonely.
But I don't see how you cmoe to the conclusino that playing with only 1 striker means that we are 'some absmal punny side'. Perhaps laughably, we played equally entertaining football when we played with a lone striker. I could remember the joy that 4-3-2-1 gave me in CL the year when we won the champion league. Inzaghi just kept scoring and scoring and scoring; he was a lone striker.
Of course, the drawback was in the serie A where we failed to score. WHy? Because most teams, when playing agianst Milan, were defending very deeply. So what's the potential conclusion? 4-3-2-1 maybe more suitable for big games in CL when both teams are willing to win (oh well, we can forget about Lyon who tried to kill games with a draw); when it comes to league game when our opponent is determined to get a 'draw' result, then 4-3-1-2 may perhaps work better.
GNL, what I have typed is perhaps not the most important. the most important thing is how you present your ideas with evidences and facts, or stats. There is really no point in arguing without even some evidence or backup. Looking at your post shows that all what you are saying are assumptions. Don't get me wrong; these assumptions may be right, but you provide no reason for them, and people just won't understand or believe in you.
"WC was surly one of the worst" --- why?
"some abysmal punny side" by playing 1 striker --- why?
"I don't give a damn for that" --- then what do you give a damn? buy some youngsters and don't care about whether the team wins? or your assumption that buying youngsters will automatically help you win?
"in terms of creativity and beauty" --- Italy has no creativity? What's Pirlo doing then? And where is the beautiful football that you are talkinga bout from Torres when he played against France or the 5-star brazilians?

GNL, did u know that even Barca plays with 2 attacking midfielders behind a lone striker? and do you think they play ugly football?
Everytime Milan played with an x-mas tree we had alot more creativity than we had with a 2man attack (mainly because of Rui Costa gettin space IMO). We do play entertaining football and everything but the only reason Berlusconi doesn't want it is because we play with 1 striker.
But now, looking at our formation as it is, it wil be a very very logicial solution to use the x-mas tree formation with Gila up front, because thats how he used to perform well before. I dont think he can play as well in the 2-man attack as we witnessed over the past season.
I think Tevez and Kaka behind Gilardino would be a great xmas tree gift :D
Especially with Gorky & Foggy as subs.

Foggia is Foggia, he doesnt need his name to be shortened to Foggy! :P.. Though im sure we wont use him in that position but instead on the flanks. Maybe when we use a 4-4-2.
Agree, Tevez is a player that can cope perfectly with Kaka', but Torres and Ibra can also create well. The thing about Ibrahimovic, and that is what Cappelo used oftenly, is that you can send any kind of long ball to him when you cant create well, and he can stop it, get rid of defender and pass it well. Its extremly usefull when you need an attacker that can hold on to the ball and play through pass to kaka or Gila.
Listen to this, its possible that Capello did something wrong and that Ibra doesnt like playing iin Juve. He had an interwiew on europsport I think, and he said that he has 6-7 pouns too much. If you look at his movements in the first Juve season and now, now can notice that he cant get rid of defenders by quick tricks any more. That is not becouse he cant dribble, but becouse his body cant move quickly enough. Milan needs to choose carefully, becouse there tiumes are delicate. My choice is Torres becouse he can play deep and score a lot, but he seems to be staying for this year. WE NEED SOMEONE, and Ibra could be the man. Remember, Pippo is 32, or 33, and next year we could see Ibra.Gila, Torres in Milan. Its quite possible.

And I just love cash+Boriello+Amoroso for Suazo and the 40 mill euros bid for Buffon+Ibrahimovic.

But isn't that what Gilardino can do ? That's what he did in the world cup, he got the ball, held onto it and laid it off for others expertly in the Germany game. Inzaghi can also do this, kind of. He makes it very awkward for a defender to get the ball off of him at times.
This kind of says to me why do we need to spend a big chunk of money on Ibrahimovich when they are younger players out there (tevez & torres (although he won't leave this summer)) who offer us something we don't have.
Same goes for Gourcuff. That's his name, not 'Gorky'.

1) "WC was surly one of the worst"
Well, we have only 147 goals in 64 matches, for an average of 2.30 per match. It's simply the WORST goal average of all times on a WC, dude! And since the raison d'être, the sole purpose, the alpha and the omega of football is to score goals, we can affirm the Germany 2006 was the WORST WC of all times!
2) "in terms of creativity and beauty"
One can talk about the eficiency, the objectivity, the lucidity and pragmatism of Italian football on the WC, but in terms of beauty and creative playing I see almost NOTHING - with the noble exception of the extra-time against Germany, when we finally were gifted with some daring, beautiful and offensive minded display of football.
3) "some abysmal punny side" by playing 1 striker
No matter if it's France, Barcelona or what else other side or national team you can name: playing with a single striker is to me the absolute NADIR of football. Barcelona still have a beautiful playing because Messi and Gaucho are wonderful players, not because of it's tatical settings.

Depends on your point of view... In my opinion you win titles not allowing opposition to score goals -specially easy one like Dida conceded last campaign.
And WC 2006 was ok. And a defensive minded team, as usual, won the title, like in 90, 94, 98 and 2002.
1) "WC was surly one of the worst"

And since the raison d'être, the sole purpose, the alpha and the omega of football is to score goals, we can affirm the Germany 2006 was the WORST WC of all times:
Milan scored 88 goals in 38 matches; that's 2.67 per match. the year before? average = 1.65; the year before again? 1.91; and even one more year before? average = 1.62. So what does this number tell us?
1) You are complaining about Milan's transfer policy for almost a year; yet, according to your definition of "WORST", the number of average goals determine it. So, Milan actually played better football last year. A lot better football than all previous year.
2) World Cup occurs every 4 years, and things chg a lot over the course of 4 yrs; tactics, people, teams... did you ever see a South Korea that can draw France 8 yrs ago? They were beaten 5-0 8 years before in the group stage. Now? What does it mean? The standard of each team entering the world cup has improved dramatically. Tactics has also shifted towards a more defensive play as well. Together, WC becomes a lot more sophisticated, if not entertaining (to you), sport.
3) If you don't believe that a 2.36 per game goal is not enough for your appetize, you can try watching the SPanish league or the English Premier League. Wait wait wait; Barca scored 80 goals only last year, while conceding 35 goals. The year before? Barca scored 73 goals. So I bet you are right. You should go and watch Barca instead who keep pumping in.
One since I"m talkinga bout stats, one more thing: Milan scored 88 goals and
conceded 35 goals. Hey! That's the same number as Barca in terms of goal conceded but actually scored 8 goals moRE!!!!!
And you know what ? Milan didn't win the Serie A. Excuse me? You can score like crazy in the SPanish league; go ahead. Serie A is a different world!
2) One can talk about the eficiency, the objectivity, the lucidity and pragmatism of Italian football on the WC, but in terms of beauty and creative playing I see almost NOTHING - with the noble exception of the extra-time against Germany, when we finally were gifted with some daring, beautiful and offensive minded display of football.
That's why I say you are a great football fan who supports the wrong club. Go and support, let's see, Brazil?, and have fun watching the so-called 'creative' football. If you don't enjoy the gameplan and tactics of coaches, the hardwork put in by players but only GOALS and GOALs and GOALs, then I'm sorry. You have supported the wrong team.
3) No matter if it's France, Barcelona or what else other side or national team you can name: playing with a single striker is to me the absolute NADIR of football. Barcelona still have a beautiful playing because Messi and Gaucho are wonderful players, not because of it's tatical settings.
I respect your opinion, and I"m sure, so do the resto f the members here. But, that's all I have for you. With such an absent of mind in terms of game play and tactics, and the naivete that teams will win once the most talented players are brought; I will leave you alone in the same old paradise of thought.
From a report on http://www.goal.com/it/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=101326:
If that account is true, I guess we can send Ancelotti to a madhouse with no way back... damn... so the board is trying to get Ibra or Torres and he prefers Crespo?!?!?!? I cannot believe that!!!
He probably wants to leave things a bit open. One things for sure: he wants a striker. One or two of them is probably his top choice. Amongst Torres, Ibra, and Crespo, some of them might be a "not going to happen this year." And if this fails, he wouldn't wanna snub Crespo in it, who clearly stated he wants to go back to Italy.
In newspapers that Zvonimir Boban is editing there was a big article today about Milan of course, interwiew with Simic and so on.... I'll tell you few interesting things........
1. Simic says he will stay, Braida saked him to.
2.There was a meeting Berlusconi-Calderon that was about to discuss Real's offer for Kaka', at the Berlusconi's villa. But Galliani threatened to quit if Silvio accepts Calderon, Mijatović or Baldini for ANY negotiations. Negotiations never happened in the end.
3. Milan declared war( we all know ), and will not negotiate to Real at all
4. Fabio Capello is the no.1 enemy for Galliani ( they talked about times Galliani and Capello here in Milan )who never liked him,and now sees him as the man who is pulling all the things he can to rob Milan and Juve at this difficult moments
5.Milans unvillingness to give Abiatti to Juve means Juve will not sell Bufon at any price
6. Simic claims that people in Italian football are damaging Milan for years, that there were no evidence for this mass on court, and that Juve is pulling all the strings all the way.
7. Berlusconi promised Milan will spend big money and go for the CL again this year, he said Milan will again be top european club. Sheva is the only sale that happened, and that will happen in Milan.
8. and so on, and on....Diarra, Torres are no.1 targets.

can anyone translate this or its just what he said today during Bonera's presentation????

If Braida tries his best, it will become reality, FORZA MILAN!
Braida also said: "We are strong all over but as in the past this club can pull a surprise for our great fans at the last moment."
I dunno but I think something is going to come up that no one was expecting/predicting, in a good way.
I think we are going after Diarra from lyon
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul30d.html
Diarra will be a fantastic purchase if we manage to get him. I know the figures being quoted in that article are £17 - £20 million ... which is alot no doubt, but if we can negotiate them down and throw in Vogel as part of the deal ... maybe we could get him for £14-15 million + Vogel. Now that would be a fantastic deal. If Oddo is also too much for us, it might be that we go for both Diarra & Reveillere, it is something to consider.
Lets hope the meetings next week go well.

Wow Diarra could be a great signing but don't you think the price tag that Lyon is looking for is to high. Plus I wanna know for which position do we wanna sign him.
Yes, that is the sensational news being reported from Spain on Calciomercato. I do not know if it's Spanish newspapers, Spanish tv or even a Spanish insider at the club.
But they (whoever this source is) claim that we are going to offer 100 million euros for the man from Barca & Brazil !!!!!!!
It also claims that Kaka might go to Madrid or maybe to Barca as part of the Ronaldinho deal.
Now, how real could this be ? If we wanted to send a message to all the other teams around, this would be it. Buying possibly the greatest player around right now. How realistic is this ? Well, i think Berlusconi would sanction the move, it's not beyond us financially and Braida was keen to stress we always seem to pull a surprise towards the end of the transfer period, someone we're not usually linked with.
However, spending this amount on one player would surely mean no reinforcements for the rest of the squad, which as we all know needs strengthening. Again i go back to the cheaper players we've been buying and the cheaper players we've been linked to, all ways to save money for a big purchase.
In the end i expect this is 90% falsehood and nothing will come of it. But it'll be fun to find out.
GavinMilan
31-07-2006, 03:48
to be honest, great news
also teh price tag is not too high considering there aint a lot of good or great two way midfielders, secondly, Diarra is one of those true physical force, and the last time Milan has that was DeSailley. Lastly, Diarra is amazing and play in all the midfield roles plus he is young.
So why not, the thing is, I think there might be others Lyon stars coming to Milan beside Diarra
This is already being discussed in the 'Transfers after CL returning' thread.
Lets discuss it there :)

Well, lets say we sold Sheva for like 60M, and since we are in CL again, there is no need to worry about the loss of CL income. Also, remember that Milan will no longer be paying the wages of Sheva, Stam and Rui Costa the following season.
Now the thing is, would Milan sell kaka in exchange?
If that is the case, it is stupid to trade players like that.
But if Ronaldinho comes and Kaka stays, then man oh man, would that be something. Losing Sheva and gaining Ronaldinho, I will take that anyday.
Heck, Milan should throw in Seedorf + cash for Ronadinho.

MILAN - Like brought back from Tuttosport and the Courier of the Sporta, the Milan strongly would be interested the purchase of Ronaldinho. The rossonera leadership seems intenzionata to spend the entire figure embedded from the Chelsea for the cession of Shevchenko, being arrived to offer 100 million. The Milan, therefore, beyond acquiring a number 1, would be revenged also of the Spanish daily paper that every day they try to approach Kakà the Liga.
This is the babelfish translation... We are not trading Kaka!

YES YOU MADE MY DAY HAPPY!Diarra is an exellent midfielder!Lets get him! :5inter: :5inter: :5inter: :5inter: :5inter:
diarra would be an excellent signing. He is pretty young, tough, and it seems all the bigs of europe have been after him. A better version of Chelsea's Mikael Essien. I am sure if he does sign, Ancelotti will find a way to utilize his talents.
On another note, I know this is a diarra forum, but this morning on calciomercato, the main header stated that milan is willing to make a 100 million euro offer to Barca for Ronaldinho. They are relaying the news from corriere dello sport, which states that milan wants dinho and will make a 100 mill offer and kaka actually may be included in the deal. I like kaka, but though he has pledged his future to milan, why haven't the rumors to him going to madrid died down??? If Kaka does leave, there is nobody better to replace him than Ronaldinho, the true phenomenon!!! I know it is improbable, but one can dream.
mods, can this thread be merged into the 'Transfers after CL returning' thread as Diarra and Ronaldinho are already being discussed there.
40 million euros for Ibrahimovich ... or £28 million ... You're talking a similar price to what we let Shevchenko go for, which is a joke.
I would not put this Ronaldinho bid past Berlusconi, he is crazy enough to do something like this and he (and most of the Milan officials) have always kept tabs on Ronaldinho. But Barca wouldn't sell, i'd be very surprised if they did.

Well, if Milan is indeed offering 40M for Ibra then I guess why not spent double that to get Ronaldinho
Juve seems to have set an asking price of 40 mil euros for Ibra, Milan are not offering it. The last rumours were that we offered 40 mil for both Buffon and Ibra, which means we value Ibra at around 15-20 mil.
Inter also reportedly offered 25 mil for Ibra (15 mil) and Vieira (10 mil).
If Juve want 40 mil for Ibra, this means we are gonna be looking elsewhere as this is a ridiculous price for him.
As for Ronaldinho, to lose Kaka over him is a mistake I am sure our board would never do on a sober head. If he comes as Silvio's next toy, I guess I won't mind but I am sure there are better ways to invest 100 mil in building a team - Ribery plays in a similar position and looks very promising - rather than buy yourself a bunch of useless tricks and disballance the team.
I can only hope that we wouldn't be foolish enough to blow this kind of insane money on 1 player WITHOUT getting strong reinforcements first. 100 million could help buy us Buffon, Pasquale, Gallas (or an equivalent), Miguel/Reveillere/Oddo, Diarra, Tevez, Suazo ...

I wouldn't mind Ronaldinho coming to Milan.
But , it's Kaka' always playing in the shadow of Ronaldinho and always doing the work.
I wouldn't rate him any higher than Kaka' , the only thing Ronaldinho is better at is doing some tricks.
If the management is doing something like this , it IMO means that Kaka' wants out.
They also know that Kaka' is as good as Ronaldinho.
And we all know , lately , that Milan turns around every penny before spending it , so why throw away 50milion euros unless Kaka' wants to leave?
We could use that money better.
Diarra seems fantastic !
I think we are going to sign him.
Is there any chance of throwing Vogel in this deal to lower the price tag?
Zlatanov ... i'll just say ... :d6: :D
Thrust, i wrote exactly the same thing about Diarra on another page. The lowest price seems to be £17 million, if we add Vogel to sweeten the deal i think we could get him for around £15 million.
I dreamt we signed Diarra last night, hopefully it will come true.

Diarra imo would be a fantastic signing if we were to get him. Him and Gattuso in the midfield to protect Pirlo, with Diarra or Gattuso pressing forward if given the opportunity would be like a dream.
As for Ronaldinho, if you offered him a month ago, I would have jumped at the chance. Right now, I'm wary of the signing, as firstly, to consider selling Kaka to get him seems pointless (especially as Kaka imo is already at Ronaldinho's level as a footballer and someone who I expect to surpass him soon). Secondly, our team is very close to being of an almost perfect balance. With the hope of using Ambro more, or maybe even getting Diarra, we'll have the physical presence in the midfield (Diarra), with determination (Rino), the creative force (Pirlo) and the dribbling and pace as we move further forward (Kaka), and coming off the bench, we have creativity, pace and wide men (Foggia, Gourcuff, possibly Seedorf depending on purchases, Janku).
Now Bringing in Ronaldinho isn't all bad, as either him or Kaka can play as a supporting forward and so we'd be very strong up front, but defensively it gives us a greater problem, as neither like to ever really do any defensive work (this was clearly seen in the Brazil side at the World Cup, where the attacking players would never defend). Ideally, we need our supporting forward to whoever is up front (mostly likely Gila) to support defensively, so that whoever plays in the attacking midfield role (currently occupied by Kaka) can return to a defensive position and sure up the midfield structure on the oncoming attack. Without this support from the supporting forward, the opposition will be able to launch quick counter attacks and we'd be hit on the break often (similar to last season). This is why I have been praying for Tevez, as he's a more natural forward than Kaka and Ronaldinho, but his work ethic on the field is superb, as he often chases back when he needs to, which is an element that Torres doesn't provide either. Up till now, we've had Sheva who was similar to Torres, Ronnie and Kaka in that he doesn't chase back much, and we've adapted the team around him to try and make do without this defensive element. Right now, we have an opportunity to solve the problem without having to adapt around a player, which would be the case with Ronaldinho.
OK, I merged the thread on Diarra with this one. Hope there isn't any confusion but the same things were already being discussed in this thread ;)
Thanks Jim :) ... if someone complains, I will redirect them to you :diablo:
lol, guess that explains why I got an error message when trying to merge the threads just now ;)
Having Ronaldinho would surely mean playing the christmas tree formation as injuries or suspensions aside, we would play both Ronaldinho and Kaka behind Gilardino. In that respect that would leave alot of pressure on Gilardino to score the goals. Is that something we'd want ? If Gilardino was injured then we'd have to rely on Inzaghi to still knock them in. Our striking options would be stretched to say the least.
As much as i want Ronaldinho here, Tevez is the better option in terms of his work rate (pointed out by Dev) and his goal scoring capability. Not to mention he'd be alot cheaper.
With all the talk of Kaka going to Madrid and the recent quote of us saying we'd do all we can to help Barca, i can't see us realistically bidding for Ronaldinho (and Barca accepting) unless Kaka is part of the deal to go to the Nou Camp.
Who'd have thought that most of us would be a little cautious of getting Ronaldinho ?

Signing Ronaldinho for 100 million would be total madness. Think of all the great players we could get for that amount, Torres, Diarra, Gallas AND Buffon! I think those 4 would be more worth to our team than 1 Ronaldinho.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure Barcelona wouldn't want to sell him, just like Milan don't want to sell Kaka.

I don't understand why we should be selling Kaká to have the money for Ronaldinho...we already have 50 mil euro from Shevas sale..
we are one of the biggest teams in the world so we gotta spend some cash every summer to strenghten our squad... if we sell Kaká to get Ronaldinho we wouldnt be spending anything.... we would just use the money we got from selling to buying... thats lame...
From what I've read Kaka has NOT been included in the deal. With the English fans money, & the sponsership money from our new logo, and Berlusconi's personal fortune, we wouldn't ave to include any player in the deal. I can't see it happening though. i fear it could be a smokescreen for us fans to say we tried to get the best for most of the transfer window but they didn't want to come, so here is ......

On Wednesday at 14:00 (2pm) Uefa will announce whether we will be granted permission to enter the CL. In our defence Milan officials have produced a 12 page booklet highlighting why we should be in the CL, pointing to the fact that we've been subject to two trials already and found admissable to be in 4th position by our own league and referencing our own comprehensive history and memories in the competition.
In just under 2 days time, we will find out whether or not we've been successful.

why no way? as i said we should be spending cash every summer...and until now we earned much more money selling players than spend on incomign transfers...
we already have 50M from Sheva so there's no point in selling Kaká for another 50M to get Ronaldinho (if available) for 100M and be financialy on level.
Probably only spanish media connected two rumors ...the one about Ronie and the one about Kaká... because it seemed very simple to them...Ronie in means Kaká out...cause we would need money to do that and Real would give out that money. But they forgot we already have money from Shevas sale and that we are huge side that dont have to sell players to buy stars...
Its bs.... no one from the managment would ever let Kaká go to get Ronaldinho...

I dont think there is anyone opposed to that idea, or maybe very few. But what most fear is that if we get Ronaldinho, then Kaka leaves us for Real Madrid. So its a lateral move or worse, since Kaka already proved himself in Serie A and showed what he is all about.
At the same time, people say no because it doesnt seem possible. And thats right: theres no way Ronaldinho comes here. And there are plenty of factors. Maybe in a near future we can make a move for him, but not now.

Milan, caccia a Ronaldinho

FORZA BERLU
There's too much about Ronaldinho, it should be in the thread about him, that's what you all wanted.
Anyway, back to other transfers. Today it has been announced that Chelsea will hold a press conference about William Gallas. It did not give a time so i don't know when it will be held. So far Gallas hasn't joined his team mates in America and this press conference could be to announce that he's decided to leave after all. However, it could also be about alot of other things, like he's taking some extra holiday, he's ill, he's signing a new contract ... etc, etc
Obviously I, and anyone else who wants him at Milan, hope that it's the first option and that he's decided to leave and turn down their new mega bucks contract for him.
When the press conference is announced, I'll post on here ... or at least i'm sure someone else will.

But on the other hand maybe he still wishes to come to us and if he does he would be more important to our team than Ronaldinho.
Josh-Sheva
01-08-2006, 05:26
Ronaldinho, would be more important! The Kaka---Ronaldinho partenrship is a dream!
We should get Oddo + Ronaldinho instead of just Gallas, we would spend more money on Gallas than Oddo, and they are almost equal... PLUS, our t-shirt sales with Ronaldinho will bring a lot of income, unlike Gallas.
With the income, in the next transfer window we coud get Gallas, because Gallas will be playing good for 5 years on, and Oddo wont...

That's my idea of what will happen.. with Torres a little further up and Pirlo in his Torres' current position. I expect Gourcuff to get a lot of appearances. Especially to substitute Pirlo as he most certainly cannot last 90 mins at his peak. He tends to give lazy passes near the end of games. With that formation.. provided that Torres easily adapts and Gilardino gets some more confidence.. we'll be unstoppable for this year and the next.

Yep. Exactly him. But he plays as a CD in Spain - and in the left side of the box! -, when he suits more as a RB.

I think Perea as a RB was an option until we signed bonera as the italian has very similar characteristics to Perea's - can play both as a solid RB and CD. Now, if we are gonna be getting a defender it would either, or both, an attacking RB alla Cafu and/or a CD, which isn't Perea's favourite/best role on the field.

Buffon will be the last arrival of the transfer market, as Nesta was in 2002.
Juventus will tell all their players and the press that no one will leave, so many of the current players don't ponder pastures new.
I sincerely believe Buffon is the surprise transfer of the summer that management was referring to. I know a lot of us have had a hunch he is coming but management have been coy about it.
We will probably sign a striker before that and I have a feeling it will be Torres.
If we sign Ibra (God, I hope not) it will probably be right at the end of August alongside Buffon.
Those are the only two arrivals -- a striker and goalkeeper -- I see this summer.

I see Milan making the headlines with a series of moves such as Diarra(I believe 90% done), Oddo, Barzagli and Ronnie. Then when everything seems to be quiet, Buffon shows up the minute b4 the deadline

I dunno, there has been so much in the press about Buffon being destined to come to milan even before the WC and before the first set of verdicts on calciopolli. Plus Braida himself, at least on one occasion, came out and said that Milan is very interested on Buffon, so it's kind of difficult to see this as a surprise move. If it happens, I know for sure it won't surprise me one bit. Same goes for Torres.
Now for Diarra and Dinho, that would be a different story, especially the latter.

Did Braida say that? In that case, my predictions may be wrong :5130:

yes, I believe he did, soon after Buffon had pledged to stay at Juve in Serie B - this was a week or so after the WC. Braida basically said that Milan is very interested in buffon but there are certain things to be wroked out and we'll see what happenes later, something like that, it was on gazzetta.

Milan still want Juve duo Tuesday 1 August, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------
Milan are still trying to sign the Juventus pair of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Buffon, reports in Italy are insisting.
However, reports suggest that Rossoneri club officials met the Swedish striker’s agent Mino Raiola in Milan, who confirmed Ibra’s interest in leaving the Bianconeri.
Milan will also allegedly try to sign the Azzurri goalkeeper, a fact that goes some way to explaining why the Old Lady are being linked with £7m rated Livorno ‘keeper Marco Amelia today.
Milan’s move for the Juventus duo may take some time to complete and further developments will depend on UEFA’s Emergency Panel decision on Wednesday.
If the Panel allows Milan’s participation in next season’s Champions League preliminaries, the Via Turati outfit will place an offer that is likely to be somewhere in the region of £50m for both players.
Ibrahimovic alone was given a £28m price tag on Monday, presumably in an effort to scare off both Milan and Internazionale.

I have omitted the part of news regarding Vieira who is definitely moved to Inter which I don't really care nor interested. Inter is still Inter who can only win from a court decision :5inter: :5inter: :5inter: :5inter:
If it's true that Buffon and Ibra come to Milan then..would also Ronnie (not the fat one for sure)
be bought ???
I start to think that Berlusconi money have no serial number if he buy lots of top stars with high price tags

I think if we go for Dinho that means, if we get another striker at all, it would be someone less expensive like Suazo or Crespo for instance. Torres, Tevez or Ibra I see as options only if don't get Dinho. it's not just a question of money but also of having an issue to play all Kaka, Dinho, Gila, Torres in one formation. What's the point of paying 40 mil for a striker who would have to spend half of the season on the bench when Suazo or Crespo would cost 1/4 of that and do just as well?
As for Silvio's money, the notes probably have serials but chances are they would all be consecutive ;)

I'd prefer for Suazo than Ibrahimovic/Ronnie/Torres ... i think if we sign Suazo it would be our secret weapon ... he will be like Kaka/Sheva in his first year, cause nobody know about him a lot ...
Can somebody tell me about Diarra ??? Is this True he 90 % join Milan ??? or it's just Rumours as ussual ???
