A great chanse for MU by Fletcher.
Shrek sets up Fletcher, luckily he misses. ManU are attacking.

We started balancing the game.
Gila coming IN for Pippo Why take off our only striker for a defender?? :guw:
Nesta stops Ronaldo! They're all over us :(
Come on Gilardino ... PROVE YOURSELF!
Bring on Serginho too, stretch their defence and peg them back!

Gila was about to cry after a foul on him. YC?
Vidic saves ManU. We had two corners in a row
I think it started in Deportivo... But it looks like an "Istanbul" 2nd half... we're too relaxed...
We are giving long crosses to Gila, but so far he hasn't catched any. ManU in attack again.
dats more like it... ATTACK goddammit!!!
Kaka shoots the ball hits a defender corner, we are back in control. In this type of playing, counter attck we needed S..a. But at the heart of our defense no long shot can pass.

If you have time please come in Thessaloniki we have the first fan club of Milan in Greece and it is authorized.
Unbelievable, fantastic, magnificent, no words to say . Another final in a historic night. Milan's first half performance is one of the best ever produced. Carlo Ancelotti's management to this tie is a masterclass and he deserves full credit. The pressure up the pitch, the width to the attacks, the movement of Kaka and Seedorf, the high tempo the marking from the stoppers were all unbelievable. The heart of Gattusso could not be described definetely this hero doesn't belong to this planet. He totally shut down the so called the world's best player. I hope that all pundits now know who is the world's best the sensational brazilian or the portoguese. It's revenge time now.
some nice lines from the bbc report :D
"The result ended United's dreams of repeating their 1999 Treble, but they can have no complaints after being totally outclassed by their Italian opponents.
Sir Alex Ferguson named Nemanja Vidic in his starting line-up after the defender's recovery from a broken collarbone but the Serb, like his colleagues, was overwhelmed by Milan's superior passing and movement in wet conditions.
The thunderous skies only added to the intimidating atmosphere at the San Siro, and when Milan began at a blistering pace, United were simply awestruck."
Never mind Stezza, at least you have 1 team in the final :) Not to mention an almost certain premiership title and the chance for the FA Cup.

Some scenes in the final stages of the game could have been avoided but still a great performance by all Milan players .... special praise goes to Seedorf, Dida, Oddo, Janku, Ambro and Gila too as they proved their critics wrong, way wrong.

By the way while all the praise would normally go to the trio of Kaka, Gattusso and Seedorf, in my opinion Ambrosini produced on of his best ever performances. A real beast at central midfield. Full credit to him. Waiting for the legendary Capitano to clinch another champions league football. Actually I don't believe yet that we are in the CL final after our terrible start to the season. That is a sign of Champions only who are capable of reviving their fortunes whatever the circumstances.

OMG! We are so so rulez!!
All around GREAT performance by the midfield, Rino is as his usual, Pirlo is awake, Max lends a stable hand, not to mention, Kaka and Seedorf. This is what Milan is all about. They proved that the Italy's midfield marshalls are no flux. There are so great, that Sandro and Kala and Did literally had nothing to do. Special mention to our flanks, especially Oddo, some nice crossess and defending, both he and Rino done their job in keeping Ronaldo quiet. Gila, nice goal, keep his wit and his calms. If you continue this way, then, I'm not worry about the frontline.
Ricardo Izceson Santos, your Ballon d'or awaits you.....

I shall be the first to say yes before the game I did believe we would not progress.
I thought it is a great game, except that Man U took the ball when they were supposed to give it back to Milan...
But then you see the whole line of defense rushing to Gattuso and co. when they started arguing with each other. Hilarious.
What a gmae....
I don't remember when was the last time were all our players played great
Gattuso is real fighter, I was scared at the end that he'll get red card....

I hate to be negative in this great moment, but Dida did nothing to prove his critics wrong. He had some saves that every average keeper would make, asides from that, he had no job.
Another point to note: Vidic was a REALLY bad idea.
78.57% in my poll believed in reaching final for the rest don't bother i was pessimistic against Bayern.
I hate to be negative in this great moment, but Dida did nothing to prove his critics wrong. He had some saves that every average keeper would make, asides from that, he had no job.
All that pressure after last weeks game, just picture your self in his position.
Even coming out to collect the ball with every corner/cross would of felt like a real B***H.. Nice one Dida, now to shut them scousers up

Listen up beautiful members of MM :bri: As I have done so many times....the greatest member of MM has predicted that Gila aka the next MVB willbecome a hero for Milan. Kaka is speaking in Greek TV now.
Guys and gals we are Athens bound. This team has something special. Amidst all the glory to Seedorf, Kaka, Rino, the one player that stood out for me was Massimmo Ambrosini. What a grande performance.
Well, Liverpool have been given the favorites tag? Once again Milan is overlooked, just like every pundit and there mama picked Manyoo tonite......
Our pedigree in Europe is always overlooked. Back to the good news. We won. Rastaman, Jim UK, Zlatanov we are going to the land of Spartans. And one the lion leading the pack is Rino.
Oh! and how about Inter, they win the Scudetto and Milan going to Athens steals their thunder.

Before I get on to us, I want to give my regards to Man U, who never gave up. They made the tie special with entertaining play and were a credit to the football world.
Tonight was absoloutly genius!!! This was easily our BEST performance of the season and played to near PERFECTION! We weren't just good, we were unbelievable, and to say I'm proud would be the greatest understatement! At the end, I was near tears, which is very, VERY rare for me. FIRST for praise have to be the fans! This year we've not always been the greatest of fans, but for this match, prior, during and post match we can be proud of the support we gave. No one, and I mean NO ONE can say that the fans weren't something special.
First half was superb, simply brilliant from the team. We not only pressed back United into their own half (argubly the best team in football this season), but we couldn't have dominated them more. Chance after chance, with two simply superb goals from Kaka and Seedorf. We dropped off the pressure at the right times, pressing United as they would try to attack us. At the end of the half, United had only one good chance, well saved by Dida.
Tactically the second half was very important. There was no chance in hell that we could keep up the pace of the first half, so we dropped back and pressed United. We played a superb counter game to United's waves of attacks!! A few sloppy passes were made, but there was very little threat posed from United overall, and we are the reason, not them playing poorly. We gave nothing to them, physically dominated the game and pressed them brilliantly. At the time United were forced to push with everything they had, we played it the Italian way and pressed in our final third of the pitch. Do NOT make the mistake in thinking we were pushed back, we tactically dropped back to allow United no room to play. You want to know how brilliant this was by us? United's attacking players often had 3 players hacking away at them when they posed any kind of threat, and 90% of the time we came away on the counter with no problems!
Player rundown:
Dida - The opposite of last week. Only had one real save to make, but he was always comfortable, and was very confident in his decision making.
Nesta - A wall, simply a wall
Kaladze - The other half of the wall, his CL experience was massive
Oddo - Excellent, defensively no mistakes at all and never let Heinze forward.
Janku - I've been pretty harsh on him this season, and he's almost never performed in the big games, but in both legs I couldn't ask for more.
Ambro - A rock, whilst Gattuso was a rabid rottweiler tonight, Ambro was huge for our midfield and provided incredible stability
Pirlo - A massive game from him. A few sloppy passes in the second half, but there's no doubt how important he was for our attacking moves today.
Rino - A MONSTER! This man is a lunatic, there's nothing more to say. He pours his heart into our matches and today was amongst his greatest performances EVER in what can only be described as an amazing career. I remember seeing him when he first joined us, NEVER did I think I'd see the day where I'd be calling him one of the greatest bal winners in history. He almost went too far at the end with Scholes, and Carlo was smart to take him off. He was symbolic of everything in our performance today!
Seedorf - Another massive game. I forgive him for everything bad he's done this season! Keep it up for 1 more game Clarence!!!!
Kaka - I have nothing more to say than he is our Golden Boy. He has been huge for us this year, dragging the side out of the dirt and taking us to the CL final. HE IS NOW A LEADER IN OUR SIDE!
Pippo - Probably the least active of all the players, but he didn't have a bad game and was a handful for the United defence. He almost scored a couple of times too.
Cafu - Not much to note. VERY important he came on as Rino would have probably got himself sent off otherwise :devf:
Gila - The boy came big in this match. Great sub by Carlo, not only scoring a great goal (though Man U defence went to sleep), but he held the ball up front which was a necessity at that point.
I want to save the final praise for Carlo! The man has his critics but in this half of the season I don't think anyone can say he's done badly. He has been brilliant, to the point of playing games tactically without flaw. He as much as anyone deserves credit!
NOW IT'S LIVERPOOL!!!!!

Milan will win 2:1.... just wait and see ;)
Well TONY you`re cristal Ball was wrong .....and you`re loosing you`re betting abilities since you`re joined MM. You can not be Objective anymore, you simply love Milan to much, though you try hard to hide it!!! :grinser: :grinser: :grinser:
Nothing special: "He is happy that he will come in Greece, he will see Rivaldo and they have to face a great team like Liverpool". The players generally belive that they are better than Liverpool but they don't forget the final at 2003 but they want to repeat what theam made in 1994 against Barca.
And one the lion leading the pack is Rino.
.
Who has given Liverpool the favourites tag? I just watched the BBC report and the guy reporting was full of praise for Milan and showed no bias at all to the English teams ... saying something along the lines of Liverpool will have to play the game of their lives to beat this incredible Milan team.
Also why are you picking me out in your post? Any particular reason?
They sucked socks on the rocks, better?
don't exaggerate dude, THEY SUCKED!! that's all.. :grinser:

I just heard that Liverpool are going in as favorites. No particular reason in picking you out. Just sheer bliss. What I should have wrote, Milanmania we are going to Athens
My 3-1 prediction isn't too far off except we didn't even give them a goal to make the game exciting. :devf:

It doesn't really matter. Milan was almost the least favorite (just above PSV) before against Bayern, and they were the least favorite among the four teams in semi.
Well, betting companies are going to lose quite a bit if Milan wins in the final.
I just have to :D

ok ... just wondering that's all
I'm not saying i Dont like A.C because i would want any Italian team to win any Cup and lets hope you win Against Liverpool, put it this way you wont have Rooney and Ronaldo pacing at you when you lose Posession, This will be good match which i hope A.C can win. :5ok:
Whose the guy who went to SanSiro from the Forum? Hittingman(sp), make your plans to Athens.... bring us more goodwill
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! we won!!! I told YOU!!! :devf:

can anyone tell me what happened before the fight between rino and scholes? and, is there a possibility that rino will be banned for his gesture after the yellow card?
can anyone tell me what happened before the fight between rino and scholes? and, is there a possibility that rino will be banned for his gesture after the yellow card?
MU supposed to give the ball back to MIlan coz MIlan kicked it out for injury treatment. Didn't happen and they shot (wide). Then if you are watching ESPN you'll see the whole bunch of Milan defensive players rush to midfield and seperate the two out.
can anyone tell me what happened before the fight between rino and scholes? and, is there a possibility that rino will be banned for his gesture after the yellow card?
Kaka went down with cramp so Milan kicked the ball out so he could get some attention, however Man Utd did not return the ball and had a shot at goal (i think) ... that's when Gattuso lost it and had a go at Scholes. I don't see how Uefa could ban him just for gestures, that would just be idiotic on their part. Don't worry :grinser:
Rosso, Hitmanq8 was on about going to the San Siro but i'm sure there were quite a few others who made the journey.
Your casual clothes? :uhm: :5ok:
no, :grinser: actually, the photo is from last summer :)
Rino attacked Scholes becouse United didnt pass the ball back to Milan after Seedorf send it out so the medical stuff can help KAka'. In short, Scholes has been unfair and Rino got mad :) Everything is ok for the final.
Congrats to evrybody... we are the best team in the world...

Thanks for the nice words, Karim. :5ok:
you are one classy Inter fan :)
Double standards, Zlatanov?
The guy uses Italian and you praise him,
the other used Greek and you tried to ostracize him. Hey, be consistent :)))
Grande Milan,
there is something special that separates from other teams like Real Madrid, man.utd etc...
Obviosly it is a time for revenge, but just as I mentioned during the half-time
the words are concentration and discpline. These two words got us to the final in Athens.
Carlo Ancelotti is simply a very smart coach
And Thanks to our faithful moderator-Zlatanov (the bulgarian warrior), he was constantly motivated and lifted up the whole atmosphere here during this tough season!!!

I guess it's not too late to say CONGRATULATIONS ;)
What a performance. Typical Milan ! Deserved to win and deserved to play in Athens.
As for Manchester. :( ... i'm so sorry Stez for your team but they deserved to be humiliated tonight. I'll dare saying this was the worst team performance in this year's CL, even worse than Roma at OT.
Milan can be blamed for ManU pathetic display but i still think it was mostly ManU players themselves that were awful tonight, not Milan's ( brilliant) defence that forced them to play as they played.
Ronaldo, Fletcher, O'Shea, Carrick, Vidic and especially Heinze looked like scared little children touching a ball for the very first time in their lives !
I'll be in Athens. The first time ever i'll watch Milan live at stadium, and what a match it will be. :p017:

I was pretty close with my last prediction before the match ( but still too far)
I predicted 2:0 at halftime ( i guessed it right) but then i said it will end 2:1 , and i was soooo wrong here.
ManU could have played 90 more weeks and they wouldn't have scored !

2005 i guess not 2003.
At the end, I was near tears, which is very, VERY rare for me. agree with everything here. The substitution by Ancelotti to bring in Gila was massive because it does wonders for his confidence. It's just what we need going into the final - a confident striker.
Gattuso will be remembered as a legend at Milan long after he is gone in the vein of ...well, there was no other player like him as far as I can remember :grinser:
This game proved one other thing for Milan fans - Kaka will retire at Milan. There is no doubt in my mind that after the emtions, the expression of love shown to the fans and vice versa, that there should be any doubt of Kaka's departure for Real Merde-rid.

Perfect first-half by Milan, second half typical nerve wrecking until the 3rd goal. So many memories: the rain, the thunders/lighting, milan's passing and relentless pressure on ManU midfield, gattuso's rage, oddo opening the field time after time, kaka made Vidic feel sorry for himself, seedorf once again scored + a beautiful pass on the first goal, janku, kala, nesta, ambro all did what had to be done, pirlo always elegant although he did pissed me off a couple of times with some really bad plays, specially the one where he passed to a ManU player with no one pressing him or anything, that was just horrible but the first goal started with him so it's all good, Dida feeling secure with those crosses, crowd went crazy EVERYTIME Dida catched a cross, that HAD to be a good feeling for him, and gila running 40 meters and finishing ManU hopes and dreams was another cool moment, I kept screaming "FINISH THEM GILA FINISH THEM, GOOOOOOOL" hehe, cool moment, my hat goes off to seedorf and kaka, these two have really stepped up since the quaterfinals, at one point when ManU had the momentum in the second half it was seedorf that screamed and with gestures tried to rally the team to stop waiting at the back and go attack, and last but not least, GATUSSO, the one player you wish you had on your team and you dread to face in a match, his energy is just something that you just cannot teach or even learn, that moment where he took the ball from Ronaldo while the Portuguese fell to the ground was the match in a nutshell. And now the Final, what bigger motivation than to face Liverpool on the finals. Match of the season by far .

Cant wait to see them bro!!
Well, what can I say...I am so happy, I actually had to wipe away a tear or two...Dev has summed it up quite nicely, and tomorrow I may again, but indeed, now, all I can do is savour the moment.
I was really pragmatic in my outlook on the game, because I couldnt bear to have Man U beat us a day or two before my birthday, and so I said, well, be ur pragmatic self Warro...that way, any surprise should be a good one..and what a lovely lovely gift my team gave me today.:D :diablo:
A splendid performance, worthy of the trophy itself, and this game, this game, well, was perfection from us...this is how Carlo wants us to play...this was classic Carlo-Milan...beautiful goals, crunching, but fair challenges, and looking classy while doing it....Dida, who has come in for much critique was as solid as I have ever seen him...truly wonderful in his confidence.
Every single player played at their best, physically, and mentally, we were superior...and from the moment Kaka sent that cross cum shot that Seedorf and Pippo couldnt get to, their heads started dropping.
FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!!!

"simple" and "everyone uses" were generalizations which went too far and became misleading and false. I do not use that "simple" Italian, am I to be ostracized too? take it easy, dude
I was just teasing him. I can care less after such a game!
now let me take it from here although I see any possible comment from me to be totally unnecessary on the matter as I simply don't see any problem here ... but then again the initail "tease" was unnecessary too.
What Karim said has nothing to do with what the MM rules ask for as this is not a case of simple Italian or whatnot or anyone startinga conversation in a foreign language - Karim himself is from Egypt and Italian is just as foreign a lang as it is to most people here - but quite simply UNIVERSAL expressions used widely Milan fans worldwide given the obvious Italian connection to this team ... and quite frankly I am surprised that I have to mention this in a Milan forum.
And Mystik, generalizing or not, like it or not, is right as probably 98% of fans here use words like "forza Milan", "grande Milan" or whatever all the time and these expressions have become more or less "fixtures" in the language of every Milan fan, Italian or not.
If Karim or anyone had tried to make a conversation in Italian - which was the case in that other situation - the same reminder would have followed.
Which leads me to my other point - what I did was not give warning to a member but simply a reminder, that's all ... no reason to call an attempt to ostracize someone and make it out as if I have given someone his pre-ban sentence for such a trivial matter.
Hope this clears the matter.
Back on topic now:
again congrats to all Milan fans ... Athens is next :5ok:

"He's made a few mistakes lately, but when you're a goalkeeper, it shows more than from a different position."
These were from United fans talking about VDS.
This one struck a nerve with me: "VDS hasn't been performing well for a while now, especially since our back four has been so ****ed up." It's not just us, folks. Nearly any goalie is only as good as their back four.

Which is why Seba Rossi rarely got a look in as the Italian national team first choice goalie - even though he held a record back then (which still stands I believe) of most minutes without conceding a goal. The national team coach felt the same way - the goalie looked good because the defence was so frigging awesome - Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta were in front of Rossi.
Ferguson said: "Cristiano had a disappointing night and he knows that. We were up against experienced players. Milan are an example of where we have to go to."
Tell that to any Man U fan that harasses this forum ;)

It doesn't matter anymore about VDS, does it BMWTaylor? Everyone been writing Milan off (and Dida and the defense and Carlito) all season and look where we are now...patience, heart and presevearence is what gets even the worst team in the world to the top and when it's Milan setting the example...those traits become beyond beautiful.
I was eating stale, two-day-old pizza (cuz am cheap like that) in the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) building's food-court watching on a small flatscreen TV, when Seedorf scored the second goal. It wasn't the San Siro; there was no singing, roaring Curva..but there were two fat dudes that kinda half-cheered, half growled when we went 2 up. Minutes later, I had to get back to class with this heavy feeling in my heart, not because we were playing bad, but because I know ALL about our amazing history of keeping leads. THEN I sat through three hours of hell (class) where a Man U. boy told me it was 2-2 at the 76th minute. :stress:
I just caught the re-peat on TLN and I admit that when the final whistle blew and I saw everyone running onto the pitch to embrace each other....I tried to hide my girly tears from my mum who was sitting a few inches away. I told her that I'd like to see Capitano lifting number 07 in 07. Mum wondered if he'll be wearing those tight jeans in the finals...I said, no, and then cried some more. :grinser:
We have to applaud Carlito for taking us thus far. Gennaro "Rino" Gattuso. I thought he was going to bleed red and black. :proud: Watching Rino is like watching Ares, with all the burning passion of a God of War, but without all the nasty broken noses bit. But you know what's really great about this semi-final win? That we WON AS A TEAM. Every Milan man on the pitch was individually a joy to watch; Nesta, Ricky, Seedorf, Janku, Ambro all fantastic. But as a UNIT, we are freaking divine. We played like champions. I guess that's why they call it the CHAMPIONS league. This is the Milan that needs to show up on the 23rd. This is the fight we need to bring against Liverpool. I've been dreaming of seeing our ragazzi and our colours in Greece all season. It's all finally coming true...
Gila and drucurl...would you two please come to the middle of the room and give each other a big hug? :sweeteye:
Oh and...POLISH UP THE BANDWAGON ZLAT! WE'RE GOING TO ATHENS!

Uefa.com says it's his third goal in UCl.
Forza Milan, I haven't been watching as I'm working, just checking the comments here!
Where did you find that?
I was surprized I was sure it was his first ever at CL.

He scored 15 goals this season: 12 in Seria A, 1 in CL. 2 in Italian Cups i guess.

I believe the goal today was Gila's 2nd in CL - his first was in the home win vs Anderlecht (4-1) in the group stages of this same CL season.

I woulld gladly hug gila :nervous: I'm no party pooper. If I was I'd probably say that Gila was gifted a goal on a swift counter attack, and that by then (78th minute (match 87% complete) and Milan already up 2-0 or up one goal on aggregate it wasn't much of a difference made in the grand scheme of things. I'll NEVER SAY such things :D :grinser: I'd much rather hug Gila :respect:
Oh and one more thing.....is it gay that I thought Paolo looked great in those tight jeans too?? :guw:

Not at all my dear Dru. I think it's actually one of Carlito's unused master tactics. Hmm...maybe capitano should wear those jeans in the final after all. :grinser:

Oh, I know that, but I couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for VDS, as he was pretty much the only one who showed up for ManU tonight.
