A player who is about to lose his motivation for doing what he's doing in the Premier League has no future at a top Serie A team. Leave him to Newcastle, I've heard they want him...
no, would have been a gr8 transfer 4 years ago!
Josh-Sheva
31-07-2006, 01:51
Rubbish, let him go to Fenerbahce, but not Milan... Sol Campbell is over and done... now, what Milan needs are some youngsters
Sol Campbell can be a good signing (actually I have mentioned him sometime ago) and good replacement for Stam: very good header, physically strong, free transfer (fit Milan's bill) good use for 2-3 years (he's 34 I believe), much better than Simic, Costacurta now.
Sign him or not is another matter, up to ACM management to decide, not us.
As already pointed out:

well, I heard from a friend that Milan need someone to sell tickets at their gate, so I guess Sol does have a place in Milan

You're a brave person to ask such a question Vickirin :D
But no, i don't think he's right for us.

4 or 5 years ago he was a class act but he has been in steady decline for a year or 2. Physically he is still capable but mentally he has lost concentration and motivation, he even wants to be an actor now

:5schal: :5schal: :5schal: :5schal: how about tevez/kuyt/klose they want to move to bigger club like milan!!! :5schal: :5schal: buffon&ibra is very good for milan&the big surprise is milan ready to buy ronaldinho with 85.5million pounds
IMO Sol Campbell is already deteriorating he isn't worth it even in arsenal he is bench by senderos
I agree Campell cant play in a diiferent type of play in that age. He was good in Premier League, but now he is too old to be able to play good in Italian football, he is not also in a good shape, a movement in an another British club may help him but not to Milan. I was on vacations, i just came back so we didnt sign anybody else except Bonera?
zambrotta wants money and went to barca
I reffered to him when he didnt have signed for Barcelona.

No add'l signings! Haven't gotten out of rumor stage. :55angel:
There has to be more players out there in the market. We've lost a couple of good ones to other clubs. I want more choices =)
We didn't sign Zambrotta because Juve wanted to sell him along with Thuram in a package as Barcelona did. We didn't need Thuram.. so we didn't buy the two.
This is not a player for now, but I think about 6 year later, he can be the best football player in the world:D. What a pity that Milan doesn't have an eye on him.

This kid does not have much talent... he is good with the ball, but he is not the best kid I have ever seen... Beckham was good when he was at Man U, he was amazing...
I don't agree with the file name <future_beckham>, Beckham has another playing style. He doesn't have good dribbling skill. But this kid is so amazing at dribbling, shotting too, I think the file name should be future_ronaldinho:D.
ah, Josh-sheva reminded me. Man U wanted to have the right to train him, but Sao Paolo won:D.

I've never been a big fan of Beckham. For every great play he makes, he screws up twice as much. Was better when he was younger, due to having more energy.
I'm not saying he's a bad player. Just saying I think he's a big liability at times.
This kid does not have much talent... he is good with the ball, but he is not the best kid I have ever seen... Beckham was good when he was at Man U, he was amazing...
Yeah, Beckham at ManUn was great, remember with his crosses how many goals scored Coal and York. He then started advertising himshelf than playing football unfortunately, because of Victoria who influenced him very much.
Sorín is up for grabs on Villareal.
I know he's 30 already, but the guy is hardworker and have incredible lungs, like Gattuso
It would be a nice and cheap aquisition.

He's very good, but as far I remember, he can't play on the right.
and using this marvellous logic, I say we give up on Buffon... last time I checked, he couldn't cross well from the left wing...

About the Veron-Sorin problem, just tell me who was chosen to be captain of Argentina in the world cup...

Sorin is problematic and I know it first hand.
Milan wont touch him with a 10 foot pole.
Sorin played for Cruzeiro in Brazil and I never heard about any trouble or disturb he caused on the team. In fact, Sorin was treated like a god by Cruzeiro's supporters

:rotfl: :D
I like Sorin a lot - just like someone else said, he would be like adding a Gattuso at LB.
I haven't heard of him being a trouble maker but it's curious that Villarreal are letting one of their two best players, along with Roman, go just like that.
With him being available for cheap, however, I wouldn't let that worry me too much as we could very quickly find him another club if he turns to be trouble, it's not like we would be spending tens of millions of euros on him.

To me Sorin is a heck of a lot less trouble than Cassano. And speaking of Veron....was he even on the Argie NT for the World Cup? I watched alot of Argie games and didn't see one gluimpse of him. :haha:
Hello guys,
We all talked a lot about big signins, superstars players we want to see with Milan shirt.
Now I would like to know who you people want to see in Milan team.. but NO BIG NAMES OR SUPERSTARS like Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Buffon etc...
And let's just take 3 or 4 players at maximum to not extend this discussion so much
My wish is list:
Lucho Gonzalez
Maniche
Tomas Rocksiky (czech republic)

it's a nice idea - something that often springs up in the head of every Milan often, especially in the summer - but I am affraid we already have a thread dealing with the exact same subject - "Fantasy Signings: Players milan should buy". So, I am gonna have to merge this thread with that one.
Hope this doesn't create any confusion ;)

Mascherano had again trouble in practice, now clashing with Marcelinho Carioca. I think his days are numbered, he is asking for a move right about now. He is a very good player, with that pro attitude every Milan player should have.

not sure what you mean with "pro attitude" when you say that he "had AGAIN trouble in practice, now CLASHING with ...". Is this what Milan is missing, players busting each other's balls in training? We hardly need an Inter-like environment.
GilAttack [11]

Moreover, he is having trouble finding team. We dont need him.
If we didnt already have too many pensioners I would take him, but I couldnt stomach another old player in the squad.

No, first it was last week with Carlos Alberto and I have to side with Mascherano: they were practicing, two squads, and Masche shouted to him for not moving back to colaborate with his teammates on defence. The rest was a war of words, but I want that kind of players, those who take practices seriously and demand their teammates to do so the same way.
And today Masche went hard after Marcelinho Carioca and the latter went nuts because of that. I have no problems with players playing hard on practice, what can you demand from them?
I want guys like Mascherano, that care during game nights and all week long.
It's practice.. you REALLY don't want to risk injuries during practice. I mean you play seriously.. but no need for hard tackles.

Firstly mzk your team is not better, it's inferior to my team but as this is fantasy we can post up who ever we wish :D
How dare i drop Maldini ? What do you want to do, play him until he's 60 or something ??? Hell we can't drop Maldini !!!!!!!! Get over it ! How can you even think that Maldini is good enough to play left-back week in week out ? Are you crazy ? It's time to move on. Neither Maldini or Zanetti has many years left in them so it's better to have players with their future ahead of them. Plus what's wrong with Cole ? In Euro 2004 he was the second best left-back next to Zambrotta and in the World Cup he again proved one of the better left-backs on display. Plus if you read my post i added players who were all available this summer for the right price.
What's wrong with an Englishman playing for Milan ? I'll look forward to your answer.

I'd prefer Jim_UK's team.
You have a problem with English players?
Cole is a very good LB.
Zanetti is finished.
Maldini is getting older too.
Ribery plays better on the right side.He has more of an AMF role.
Kuyt is not Milan material.
But , it's your fantasy team. :)

I don't know whether you have a problem with Lampard , Gerrard and Tevez or are you just wondering why they are on the bench? :)
I can't stand Lampard , but he is a good CMF.
I should have mentioned I would like to play with a rotation system. :tong:
Like Gila and Inzaghi last season.
Whoever has the best shape , gets to play.
Everybody will do they're best to keep in shape and everybody will be happy.
That way you get a team that is in great shape and without any players who are really tired.
But that's just fantasy I guess. ;)

They are a number of English players that could be very useful to Milan. I won't name them all, but it's a mistake to discount them.
Maldini, while a legend, is getting older and it'd be better for him to sub right now than start. We should get a new left back, but I'm unsure of Ashley Cole. He seems to flashy to me, and not enough substance. If he kept his mind on football, I'm sure he'd do fine.
Ashley Cole.. not Joe Cole. Joe Cole is a midfielder.
there is hardly any chance to sign Ashley Cole with Chelsea involved plus I have never seen any English player shining in Italy. Not to be dreaming our targets are: Buffon, Torres, Gallas and Diarra = BP 60 millions.
Diarra only has eyes for Madrid :moan:

the big three clubs involved in the scandal are out of the Coppa Italia... since Fiorentina & Lazio have nothin' much to look forward to besides avoidin' relegation... maybe we can steal some of their players... Frey... Pasqual... Toni... Oddo... Panchev... to name a few... poor Buffon... missin' the first PK in the shoot-out...
Is there still any chance to get Gigi from Juve?
Buffon will be the best mercato this year if we can deal it.
Also Torres can be fantastic. Young, strong, good finishing.
But both of them will take a lot of money from us.

Dear everyone,
The administrative team has improved the barring system in order to make MM a more friendly place to visit.
We strongly advise you to click the following link to read our updated rules and systems (it won't take even more than a minute to finish reading them).

what happened to milans earlier interest in Vincent Kompany -very promising CB? IS he still a possible target now that his moved to Germany or are CHivu and Barzagli more realistic targets? Keeping in mind that Maldini and Billy will both probably retire at season end. So we'd need 2?

Apparently Dani Alves says he wants to go to madrid. Now while this is a train smash for us its not the end of the world. Cicino would be a good purchase, I bewlieve.
CHIVU and BARZAGLI should be our choices for defence
Barzagli has been linked with a Juve transfer this summer but Palermo has refused a 12 mil offer

Yeah Chivu is as good a LB as CB, which means he can be a 2 player transfer. For barzagli I dont think the thought of Serie B is that attractive
The only problem for Chivu is that he gets injured to often
But in MILANs lab probably that wony hapened

i'll recomand Mirel Radoi , from steaua bucharest , he is not as expensive as chivu is , and i think he is on the same level with roma's defender , very good player, cerebral, strong personality , one little problem though ,he's injured for the moment.
I don't see Chivu as being a good choice for a left-back, there are far better players out there to fill this position.
Sobis played really well for Betis against Sevilla, he showed great movement, positioning and finishing. I think we may have been too hasty in our dismissal of him. Not that i want to bash Boriello here, but he'd have offered us more options and a possible bigger goal threat.
Again, time will tell if we made a mistake there.

Mahmadou Diarra is amazing. I dont understand why we missed out on him. He is one of the best CM in the world. He is better than Lampard and Gattuso. I just saw the first half of Betis-Real and he is outstanding.
Only pussies cry over spilled milk :de3:
Only joking Hitman. Hes a good player, but its not the end of the world. We will sign Emerson of them in two years time. :1whis:
Cicihinio has torn knee ligaments, and will be out for six months. I dont rate him as a player, but I feel sorry for the poor guy
Anyone seen Anderson for Porto?
He is very impressive, hes Brazillian and is being compared to Ronaldinhio but I could have sworn I was watching an eighteen year old Seedorf :) He has the dreads, hes as strong as a horse, a pile driver of a shot, but his passing isnt as wayward as Seedorf's can be.
Iv not seen much of him so I wont start demanding his signing just yet, but if he can track back they way Seedorf can (Im not at all sure he can) then he would be an excellent replacement.

Yeah, Ive seen the guy. Pretty impressive player and just 18 yo. Rumours are that Barca, Chelski and pretty much every other big club, including Milan, is after him ... Barca seem to have the advantage though. There is speculation that his arrival at Barca would open the door for Dinho to Milan.
Do they feed children footballs in Brazil :ilol:
I really hope there is a return to the Zidane type player rather than the show off some tricks type of player. The Barca star is amazing, I just prefer to watch players like Zidane who really impose them selves on the game. Hint hint Gourcuff. For me a wide man like Alves who will cause havoc and make it more difficult for teams to mark Kaka, Pirlo and hopefully soon Gourcuff.
There is just so many young talented players around at the moment. I cant wait to see how many of them actually become as good as everyone thinks.

Tavano is reportedly unhappy at Valencia for not playing any minute. IMO he is better than Morientes and not that far behind from Davide Villa. I wish we can sign him in January if he is not cup-tied, instead of Boriello (if he fails to make an impact). Signing Robinho wouldnt hurt either :)

Anderson played in Gremio at Kaká role, and as second striker. But in the begining of the year, CoAdriansen(sp?), that Dutch coach that was at the Porto, used Anderson as LMD, in the traditional formation for Duch coaches(4-3-3 )...and what surprised me was that Anderson showed that can play in that role. I always saw Anderson as a ofensive mid or a second striker, but as you said(and "COsomething else" coach also show), with some coach, patience, and player will...I can see Anderson playing in Seedorf role...
BTW, I do not remember where I read, but I saw Anderson saying that if it had that to choose, Milan would be his choice :proud:

OFF Topic: For the good of Brazilian NT, Robinho needs to leave the Capello :yuck: Real Madrid!!
BTW, the brazilian answer for Mahmadou Diarra is Lucas, 19yo from Gremio. Diarra is a little more strong, but Lucas is more skilled...if some of you guys wants to see Lucas, it will be in Brazil NT in the next 2 games. I´m not sure il Lucas will play the first game, but I´m sure that against Equador Dunga will test the kid.
We don't want our team to be overly brazilian you know.. they're skilled and all but we should keep an Italian core imo.

We???? Maybe you don´t like the brazilian core(Cafu, Serginho, Oliveira, Kaka and Dida) of Milan, but I like...BTW, as I said several times, I´m just puting news(names) of brazilian players, and I know that the majority of them will not to be in Milan side.
One more thing: Maldine, Nesta, Gattuso, Pirlo, Bonera, Ambrosini, Favalli, Inzaghi, Gilardino, Brochi(sp?)...of these, maybe only Maldini retires. So, even if some skilled brazilians arrives, the italian core will be there...and don´t forget, the possibility exists that Cafu, Serginho, Dida also leave Milan...so, only Kaka and Oliveira will be there.
The 3 brazilians players that IMO Milan needs are Alex, Daniel Alves and Marcelo(Even with Serginho, Janku and Favalli, we can´t let the kid that will dominate the LB position go to a adversary).
Although I respect your opinion, I don´t want a Milan team full of normal players just because they are Italian. I want players with quality to dress the Milan shirt...being they Italian, Brazilian, French, Argentine(here I am lying :haha: :embarass: :kap: )
Alex is one i'd disagree with slightly Brasileiro, the times i've seen him he's been slow, laboured and not overly impressive. Maybe i've just been unlucky in the games i've seen him play.
I have no problem with Brazilians in the team.. but I DO believe that we should keep a basic Italian core. I do like how Brazilian fullbacks attack though :) So we could sign two to replace Cafu + Serginho who are on their way out. We should never have more of another nationaility in our team than Italian though.. but that's just my humble opinion.

Jim, trust me, if Alex isn´t slow. If the guy was slow, it would not have survived to the pace of Dutch football...not there, with so much pace, and where the defenders play without much protection...BTW, Alex was 2 times(in a row) chosen the best defender of Brazilian league...come to Europe and was chosen 2(in a row) times the best defender of Eredivisie...was in the list of the UEFA CL top 5 defenders of the year...Alex can´t be that bad being honored so many times(and his young, 23 or 24yo).
Alex weak point is the first step, where it is only above average. But this is compensated by his speed, leaping ability and the more important, defensive awarenes...and if you have patience and free time, uses AltaVista Babel Fish and read this thread at PSV forum...

Sorry for the misunderstood, Mystik. My bad...
BTW, I have no problem that Italian players being the majority...My point is that the players needs to have the quality to play in the Milan.
Just for example, Bonera is a good player, but the guy is just normal. If Bonera wasn´t italian, nobody would be talking on him in Milan side. Bonera is a good adition for the squad(a typical squad/usefull player), but we can´t be a great squad, and fight for titles, w/ a team full of Boneras...but as you said, that´s just my humble opinion :5ok:
Has he been injured recently Brasileiro?
I'm sure he must have been as i saw him against Liverpool and he was poor. He was constantly beaten for pace against Bellamy and Kuyt, plus when he went up for a corner it took him an age to get back. So i guess he must not have been 100%, which is a shame as i would have liked to have seen him at 100%.
Like i said before, i think i've just been unlucky the times i've seen him :D
I think we need a miedfielder to replace Pirlo or Gattuso from time to time
Someone like Ambro
Diarra whould have been excelent for that
One name i think of is Motta

I think with Diarra gone, Xabi Alonso is one of the few players who could play in Pirlo's role and Gattuso's too, without Milan losing quality on the field. Won't be an easy one to get but don't think is an impossible move either

If you haven't noticed.. Kaka has played like our last 4 games straight in a role that requires a LOT of running. Gourcuff seems to be Seedorf's sub at the moment. Pirlo + Kaka have nobody to adequately take their place. Gourcuff COULD do it.. but can't play 3 places at the same time ;)

Certainly Elano could provide us with a creative midfield option.

Better, not because they are better than Deco etc, but good backups and prospects for the future. Regarding Lucas, he has the same ability as Marcelo, expect he is a midfielder that plays for Gremio, he got a callup in tha Brazil squad, and I assure you there will be a big hype soon abmong the big clubs in Europe- kinda like the intrest Anderson is attracting. He is only 18 or 19
It's a quandary isn't it. Do you go for the players that are better technically or for the players that won't cause as much disruption even though they might be slightly inferior??
Juninho i think would be ok as he's nearing the end of his career and maybe he'd be a little more accepting of a squad role at a bigger club, although equally i guess you could say he might also want as much first team football as he can get before he stops playing. Who'd be a manager! :googly::D
we need some very good defensive midfielder but with some creative skils too, like vieira,edmilson....

pirlo and gattuso is unchangeable!!!The posissions that can be changed are inzaghi, seedorf, leftbeck, cafu,&dida
im really starting to question Galliani's and Berlusconi's plans. Are we preparing and risching all just to sign Ronaldinho?? Isnt that stupid?? Juve is close to sign Mascherano and they are in serie B! And we do need that kind of a player, actually Mascherano is so good he can play in any team in the world. We have done so much wrong things in this mercato I cant even start writing it ( Abiatti to Torino for what????? So we loose Zambrotta and Buffon?? ). Barca and Real are going for Gago, and they already have brilliant DM's like: Emerson,Diarra,Edmilson,Xavi,Iniesta,Marquez,Motta and so on....In our team Pirlo and Gattuso are world class DM's, Ambro, Brocchi are not. Seedorf is 30 and getting obviously slow( his carrer is really long, we cant expect him to play form age 17-32 in same tempo ). Flanks are slow also, that needs to be fixed. Maldini is 38, Billy 40, Serginho 34, Cafu 36, Pippo 33....people do get old and when they do....game is over. ( Except for Paolo the great...)
What are we planning? A Dynamo Kiev striker who is a backup for Rebrov? Prolonging Cafu's contract so we have THE BEST ATMOSPHERE in the training ground? Im not satisfied, and I know its early, but in the past 2 seasons we havent done good jobs in mercato, I hope we wioll do some proper and wise investments in our team. Without fast RB we cant play normal game as Rino is on the RM position. Transition is slow, attack in not tuned in, and so on....

We are saving it for Ronaldinho! We are going to set limits on how to waste money.
I think the whole problems in the team come from the weak defence!!!
attacking problems come from the defence too.why?
because when the defence is weak, the midfielders help more in defence, and not enought in attack!!!
because,in the sistem 4-3-1-2, you must have very very good attacking backs, which we have not!!!and our flank attack is weak!!!
then, milan must buy first of all tree defenders:right, left and center backs!
imagine what we will do with this defence:
alves------nesta------chivu------marcelo

this is a valid point but I am not so sure it's true in Milan's case sinse we have created A LOT of goal-scoring chances in the last 3 games - apart from the 2nd half vs Livorno - and have failed to take them whether because our players were just too wasteful or because we've had goals disallowed.
You could add to this the Ascoli game as well - we had chances for 6-7 goals, instead won by 1-0 only ... don't think this is a case where the midfield is trying to cover for the defense and thus hampering the attack. It's more of our players being wasteful and lacking concentration in front of goal, something that's only a question of time IMO to change.
Still, like it or not, we'll have to make a small revolution in defense for next year with Paolo and Billy on the way out, along with Cafu and Sergio probably as well.

i like it,i like it a lot!i hope we will!!!
but my theory, less or a lot,it's true!i forgot that, the attack is weak too,and the midfielders try to help it more from the usual.
Apparently Capello wants Miguel in January, if not then next summer, to replace Cicinho. So we can more-or-less forget about Miguel, but it could leave the door open for Alves.

There is a few interesting players in Fiorentina that can be an answer to our flanks. Pasqual is a good left back. Not that explosive but does go into attack pretty often. He is 24 and could provide adequate cover on the left flank. Potenza also plays that position for Fiorentina, but not as good as Pasqual. Pasqual is young and ambitious. He is very good already. Why go look in South America for something that is already proven in Serie A. He shouldn't be expensive too.
As for Seedorf, he can keep on going for a few years, although i don't know at what pace. If we bring Foggia back next year, then that's great. We will have a few young options in the middle in Foggia and Gourcuff.
As for a defensive midfielder.......I don't know if we need one. We already have Ambro, Gattuso, Brocchi and Pirlo. But if Brocchi or Ambro are to be substituded, why go further then Fiorentina again. Blasi is a great DM. Tough and good passer. I don't know why you guys are excited by these prospects in South America. Not all the time we get to buy someone like Kaka. That doesn't happen too often. But some of us are excited by EVERY name that is mentioned on the South American market. Blasi is proven in Serie A. He was a great cover for Juve and now for Fiorentina. Proven in Italy, why should we spend money on something that we don't know if it is going to work out. I agree, if the player is so talented like for ex: Kaka, then great, lets go for him. But to go after every young Brazilian talent is not the smartest idea.

for pasqual:that is what we need-not so agresive in attack on the left.because with our sistem of play,on the left we have a attacking midfielder(seedorf, gourcuff) and don't need left back stile "roberto carlos".besides, pasqual is alredy prooved in seria a!!!
for the right,we need a agressive and attacking one stile "cafu" in the time when he was 27-28years old.then we must look in spain-there are alves and miguel(i watch him in WC2006 and he was very impresive)

for pasqual:that is what we need-not so agresive in attack on the left.because with our sistem of play,on the left we have a attacking midfielder(seedorf, gourcuff) and don't need left back stile "roberto carlos".besides, pasqual is alredy prooved in seria a!!!for the right,we need a agressive and attacking one stile "cafu" in the time when he was 27-28years old.then we must look in spain-there are alves and miguel(i watch him in WC2006 and he was very impresive)
for blasi:i did'n watch him play, but if he is good, toudht and good PASSER-so that are the tree important things for the good DM.
something very imaportant:they are italians, and milan is a italian teem.
We need to be carefull w/ this "prooved in serie A" thing...The Milan shirt is heavy. One thing is doing good in Fiorentina, and other in Milan. I´m not bashing Pasqual, just that IMO more important than serie A experience, is to purchase players mentaly strong...to hold the pression of to play in Milan.
See Gilla case...

Well said! MENTAL TOUGHNESS is something we forget when we judge players. We have to avoid the sissy ones so that when the time come comes they are up for it even when many factors are against them. I beleive it should be the most important criteria to look at the player's strength.

Pedersen mostly plays on the wing though rite??
Yes he is but we can use him in the position os Seedorf (if his game goes to hell, which I really hope that it doesn't). I also read somewhere that he wants to leave Blackburn. Surely there will be other english sides ready to get his signature but he also idolizes Van Basten so ...... :bri:
i still think we must get a DM(after we get some new defenders)!
the best DM in italy is de rossi i thik.

Its a good squad, but I don't see anything special in De Rossi. I would rather have Gattuso. And I don't know about the strikers, maybe Pippo has a few years left in him.
Boca Juniors vs River Plate at the moment. Palacio and Higuain have both scored..

By looking at the trends of this transfer season I am so confident that we won't even bother to ask for their prices. At least I got to see a good game after a long time.
Besides they have become "Big Names" now and demanding "Big Names" for our team makes one a phan. I don't want to be known as a phan! I'll stick to Ricardo Olivera. :kap:

Higuain was 'Man of the Match' today...while Boca had one of the worst defensive performance in a long time.
Well, I don't really know how you can find that out (mental toughness) before purchasing the player. After all, how do we know if Elano, Marcelo, Lucas...etc. have mentall toughness. Unless the player has already played for a big club and has done well there, there is no way to know whether he is mentally tough or not. One thing is for sure though. If the player is tallented and good, then he will have confidence to do well in a big club. That is where the "proven in Italy" comes in handy. You have highly talented players like Pasqual, Elano, Marcelo.....but one of them has proven that he can play well in Serie A and that is Pasqual. Therefore he certainly has the upper hand.
Rahul...how do we avoid sissies? How can we possible know who is and who isn't one?
Vadim....I see your point. I would rather have Rino in that squad as well, but if we can somehow squize both of them in there, now that would be something. I think De Rossi is a tremendous player. He has grown into one of the best midfielders in Italy. Just watch Roma and you'll see how indispensible he is in their play. He proved that he can be a great player for the Italian national team and he can certainly become a great one in Milan. Is it possible to put him in the team together with Gattuso and Pirlo? Is our midfield going to get too defensive (Ambro-Rino)? What about Gourcuff? Well, De Rossi gives great ballance in midfield for Italy as he is good at going forward as well. Good passer and a great tackler. But again...I don't know of the chances of putting him in this line-up. I would leave that to Carlo! :D
i think gourcuff and kaka must be in our future midfield.we must think for the other two places!

Football Italia:
Cassano ‘perfect’ for Napoli
Monday 9 October, 2006
Real Madrid’s transfer market consultant has this afternoon sensationally urged Antonio Cassano to join Napoli.
Ernesto Bronzetti believes that the Serie B outfit would be the perfect environment for Cassano to live up to his potential should they win promotion to the top flight this term.
“I think Napoli would be an excellent solution for him,” Bronzetti, the man who looks after all of the Spanish club’s overseas moves, told Radio Incontro on Monday.
“Cassano is a player who needs to feel that people believe in him and needs to be pushed on by the fans.
“For this reason, Napoli could offer him the perfect stage to express his high levels.”
Cassano joined Real in January after a £3.5m fee was agreed with Roma given that his contract had just six months left to run in Rome.
However, the man nicknamed ‘Talentino’ by the Spanish media, has struggled in Madrid – even following the appointment of Fabio Capello as boss.
As a result, Bronzetti feels that the ex-Bari starlet’s time with the European giants may be coming to an end.
“We all know that Cassano gets long faced when he’s not playing and he tends to relax mentally,” he added.
“Unfortunately there is a relatively clear situation in Madrid with Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo the first choices, with Raul and Robinho the second reserves.”
Cassano’s lack of recent use by Capello, his former Roma mentor, has also cost him his place in the Italian squad.

what about he comes in milan?

As I started this(mental toughness), I will try to explain. Pasqual proven that can play in Fiorentina. But not in a BIG club like Milan...In the past I want Gilla or Luis Fabiano in Milan. We purchase Gilla(proven in Serie A) and I was glad. But until now, Gila didn´t show the "Parma level" since arrived to the Milan. So the guy forgot as soccer is played??? IMO, NO!! Unfortunately he is feeling the pressure of play in a big club like Milan :(
And I affirm that, therefore he would be able to be bad in the Milan, and good in Italia NT. But not, Gilla is bad in both teams...Unfortunately, cuz I really want Gilla in Milan jersey.
It´s just question of opinion, but for me, a player is really proven in serie A IF he show his value in a BIG club in serie A(Juve, Inter, Roma). If not, his serie A experience, for me is not validates..but is just my opinon.

...Rahul...how do we avoid sissies? How can we possible know who is and who isn't one? ...
I accept that it is difficult to sort out players according to their toughness. One factor which sticks out amongst the tough ones is their aggresion. Players like totti (talented and fiery), rino (not highly talened but surely agressive, quite similar to Roy Keane), Maldini (no questions about his talent and very agressive on the pitch at least), etc. Fearlessness also can be a attribute of a tough player. But then again only Italian players or players who have played in come to my mind so I guess first class expeience is needed but not neccesarily to part of a first class team. A player can be a part of a team which on the verge of a revolution.
Again I say that it is very difficult but we also have an amazing team of transfer gurus most importantly Braida who has alot of experience so we shouldn't have big problems.
Well, of course a player is proven once he has done well in a top club...as you mentioned Roma, Juve, Inter. But then that would mean that we only have to buy players from top clubs, and that most of the time is not the easiest thing to do.
Personaly, I agree with you......but if a player has talent and is doing well, I think it is worth gambling and bringing him in, expecially if the price is appealing. After all........Kaka, Pirlo, Gattuso were never expected to be the center of a Scudetto, CL, World Cup winning teams. We brought them in and it turned out fine. The point is that mentall toughness will be really really hard to judge. The "proven in Serie A" thing has nothing to do with mentall toughness but it gives you a PLUS on the fact that the player is used to life in Italy and the way the game is played in Serie A. Because I still remember the names like Mendieta, Keane, Rivaldo.
About the Gila case....I agree, but I still believe that he will soon start scoring and never stop. Because he has the tallent to do that. I think he will become one of the best strikers in the world.
The difference between him and for example Pasqual is that one is a striker and the other a defender. The point there is that strikers always have the most pressure in a game. They are judged by goals scored. They can do great, but if they don't score people judge them to be horrible. Defenders on the other hand can slide by with average performances and a lot of times will not be mentioned in the "bad players". That's a start to build on their performances and become better while not having that much pressure on them. Having to score in every game is certainly a big pressure as opposing to having to shut down a player, where you actually have the help of team mates to do so anyway.

Maybe my last text was not clear...I agree w/ you that if the player is showing talent, it´s worth gambling and bringing him to the club. What I was saying is that to be "proven in serie A" in a small or or medium club, IMO, does not give an advantage above a player used to play in a big club in another country(w/ tradition in football). IMO, what really imports(besides the talent), are the physical and mental characteristics of the players...
Said that, I believe that some players just does not have the characteristics for to play in a style of football(Serie A, EPL...), and it was the case of a old Rivaldo. But I remeber when Kaká was brought of Brazil, and people are saying that we need to loan him to gain experience in another club. The guy was the rookie of the year, and a year later, the MVP of Brazilian Championship, playing a big club like Sao Paulo(carrying a lot of pression). Beyond that, Kaká had all the tools( physically and mentally) to be sucefull in european football...and just because Kaká wasn´t proven in Serie A, so many guys preferred another players(just for to be proven in serie A). My point is, if we need to gamble(and every club needs), we need to gamble in the best talent avaliable, independently of serie A experience. But always taking into account if the player has the tools(physically and mentally) to play in determined style of game...
About the Gila case....I agree, but I still believe that he will soon start scoring and never stop. Because he has the tallent to do that. I agree...and as I said, I want Gilla or L. Fabiano here...and I still believe that Gilla will recovery his confidence...and IMO, a second striker to be pair w/ him, will help a lot...
He needs one desperately.. and I'm really for Cassano because him being Italian means he'll fit in more quickly as he knows the language.. and he and Gila will then have better teamwork. They can talk more on the pitch.. etc.

Interesting prospect but overrated if they are going to label him the new Sheva.
He has french passport, and has yet to decide whether he wants to play for France or Argentina.
MSI already is involved with him.
Palacio, who is better, is said to be close to Barcelona (Barca has an option apparently).

Enough with the 'new sheva' talk. Also.. doesn't Higuain strike for Riverplate? What would he be doing all the way back there. That midfield is also too weak physically.

FORZA ROSSONERI!!! :diablo:
Lots of people have Kaka and Ronaldinho in their fantasy squads but I am not sure I would do that... their games almost take away from each other in my opinion. They didn't fair that well together in the WC... both need space and time run with the ball and create. I know Brazil always does well and the WC was an abnormality or whatever people want to say but I think too many key players (Pirlo, Kaka, Ronaldinho) is not good for a squad.
Gaspo....think of Ronaldinho as a Sheva replacement. After all...Sheva,Kaka, Pirlo worked well didn't it......so why wouldn't Dinho, kaka, pirlo? If we play Ronaldinho as a support striker, something in the simular role that Sheva was playing.....then I don't see a problem.
By the way....Raptor, why would you replace Kaladze? He proved that he is worthy of his place. Splashing out money (Chivu would cost A LOT) to replace something we already have isn't very good choice. Barzagli would be a far better option and I think much cheeper then Chivu or Mexes. He wouldn't replace Kaladze but he can rotate with both Nesta and Kakha. I also think that he is a better defender then Chivu and Mexes overall, or if not that then definately on the same level.
Nefremo, I understand your comments but I also think Dinho is best at an attacking mid role, he would be capable of playing the support striker role yes but his abilities are more that of an AM in my opinion... it would be a fun experiment none the less... that is why it is fantasy right?

Except for ronaldinho, we will not need such big money for Oddo and Amelia, and I think we can do it. of course, the perfect solution would be to put Kaladze to LB so we secure our back line and Ronaldinho's and gourcuff's back, but that would mean we need to get new CB. Which im not sure we will do. Or at least, not a new CB that will play in first 11.

thats a good team but i dont think it would be worthwhile to sign Oddo anymore. He is 30 years old. May I suggest someone like Rafinha or Dani Alves? My fantasy squad wouldnt use a lone striker. If milan does go for Dinho maybe Kaka would play seedorfs role. NOt sure though, especially since milan has been linked with a 4 million pound move with Droggie. Emre would be a decent acquisition as well.

i will tell you why i don't like kaladze.because he is too slow.he have slow reactions and reflexes.kaladze play very well for now,but i hate this kind of players.my perfect defender is something midlle from nesta and canavaro!

you are wrong for ronaldinho position-in barcelona play like a suport stricker on the left.messi/giuly do the same on the right and eto'o is CF!

Yeah rarely is it seen that a full back makes marsupials out of players the way alves does
Oddo is 30, but he surely has another good 2-3 year in him. At this time he is the best option. Alves is great, but how much would Sevilla ask for him is the real question. We can get Oddo for as little as 3-4 million. Alves would in my mind cost no less then 10.
joumasepoes.....puttin Kaka in Seedorf's role is hurting Kaka and the team. Kaka is most dangerous when he gets the ball 20-25 meters from goal. He has proven what he can do in that position and putting him back where Seedorf plays would be a mistake because we won't get the most from kaka.

now i watched video of jan huntelaar on youtube and i just can say-this guy will the next big europe star!!!

to compare gilardino with huntelaar is like to compare jan koler with van basten!!!
Raptor, don't say that. Huntelaar is a good player but he is yet to prove himself on the big stage, at to some extend so is Gila. I have seen some videos of him on youtube too and yes, he does look great. But......for your information search for Gila's videos and tell me what you see. An amazing player that scores from all positions in the box as well. It is different when you just look at highlights however and the real thing.
Again........Huntelaar is a good player. Better then Gilardino?....Maybe, maybe not. Untill he proves it however, I would say no for the time being.
Now...I know some people have had it with Gila but for now he is our striker and lets keep our faith in him. If he scores some goals, he will change people's oppinions right away. If he doesn't then...what can I say. You people are right and we can look into another player. But there is no point for bashing him right now and putting him under more pressure then he already gets with the media. If things don't change untill January (lets hope they will) then we can call for his head.

Neither player needs to prove that they are great players. Gilardino just needs to score. Once a striker scores he will make a habit of it. I am sure this will be the case with Sheva.
But there is no point for bashing him right now and putting him under more pressure then he already gets with the media. i have seen the gilardino video from google.videos a compilation from his time in parma and i can say that he scores ugly goals.i have seen him play for milan and i dont like his stile.
if i must compare the gila video with huntelaar video-huntelaar's is better!
It is different when i just look at highlights however and the real thing, yeah thats truth, but i compare huntelaar with gilardino from a higtlights of themselfs.the things are equals!
you say:"If he scores some goals, he will change people's oppinions right away..."
he must score a lot of goals, not just some goals.if we talk about kaka, yeah,"some goals" will be good, but for a man who is our hope to be a MARCATOR of our club-i dont think so

Ok in 2 years time i would like the Milan strikers to be
Guiseppe Rossi ( is a big Milan fan)
Fernando Torres (has alot of the same characteristics as Sheva)
Huntelaar (some of his goals makes me wonder if im watching in or Van Basten)
Gilardino (just needs confidence and then he will do ok)
I like to believe that in 2 years time Milan will have in the first team at least 2 players from their youth team (a defender and a striker)
the best and not impossible soplution in De Rossi, the man who can play perfect role in front of Pirlo. With Oddo and Buffon as addition to our squad. The new name is Vedran Čorluka, 20-year old CB, RB, who played brilliantly against Russia and England and palys for Dinamo Zagreb.
arko Naletilic, man who works closely with Milan was in Zagreb for this man.

De Rossi is a player i wouldnt mind seing in Milan, he isnt shy infront of goal either!
We need players like De Rossi. Others to mention would be Mauri from Lazio and Barone from Torino. Both great players that can be bought for not much money. They both can play in Pirlo's place should he need rest. It is obvious that when Pirlo doesn't play, Milan is a lot weaker team. We lack a lot of quality in the center. We look like we have no ideas and we just give the ball to Kaka. Barone and Mauri are both players that thave creativity in them and they also have that traditional Italian toughness in them. Our midfield would be great if we can add one of them to the team.

De Rossi is a great player that can take on any role in the midfield. I suggest Milan buy him whatever the cost. I think 20 million pounds at least is a fair valuation. He and Sneijder could make a deadly combination in the future

O dear. On
according to eurosport.com, marcelo's agent his busy holding talks with real madrid, and says madrid would be a dream move for him. this is bad news indeed.
20 million pounds for De Rossi? I think it's too expensive. 10 or less would be suitable.

Galliani's teaser on tribal
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani won't rule out the potential signing of Barcelona star Ronaldinho.
"Ronaldinho to Milan? Goodness knows. However, if he does arrive, there'll be no problem: we will adapt the system of the team to include the Brazilian champion," said Galliani.

Considering it the 21st century, and the likes of diarra and essien were bought from a club like lyon for over 20 million, then 20 million for De rossi from Roma seems reasonable. De Rossi is at the very least on the same callibre as those aforementioned, but i dont think Milan will pay up
you should remember the clubs who bought Essien and Diarra were Real and Chelsea:D. De Rossi at the moment can't reach 20M I'm sure. Zlatan was only more than 16M, Joaquin was more than 16M, Carrick was more than 17 M <and 17 M was a overpaid price>, Tevez and Mascherano were about that price too. Though the performances of the players above are not good now, but in last season, who could say they were not good <not sure about Zlatan:D>. With 20M I'd rather see we add some more money <about 5M more> and get Vaart and Sneijder:D.

We will go to real as a replacement for Roberto Carlos!
Milan must do something before we lost another talent.
