THe replacement for Pirlo is D'Go and not Xabi Alonso. Hahaha, just kidding, I know which Spaniard you are talking about.

If Silvio isn't going to be running the club as a plaything, but rather as a business, and money is tight, the best asset Milan had to raise the funds to replenish the squad was Kaka. All the old players you named ("Kaladze, MArek, Seedorf, Pirlo, Dinho, Pippo, Dida, Kalac, Favalli") that you think Milan should get rid of wouldn't, combined, bring in anywhere near the money that Kaka brought in. And it would have left the entire squad full of holes that would have had to be filled by a whole new bunch of players that Milan could afford to bring in all at once or by unproven young players from the reserves or called back from loans. This way, Milan can replace the older players (most of whom have given great service to and been very loyal to Milan) reasonably rather than having a fire sale and acting like Tottenham Hotspur or Portsmouth or somebody. You can moan until you're blue in the face about Milan being in a tight financial position and about the reasons for it, but that won't solve anything. The past is the past. The situation is what it is. Bitching about the past isn't a plan for the future. You, among others, have complained about Carlo's lineup choices, etc., for a long time. Now Milan has a new coach who has a good eye for talent. Let him do his frickin' job this summer and then we'll see how the new Milan squad shapes up. If you want to support a club that's only a plaything and just buys and sells players with no consideration to either cost or loyalty, they're always looking for fans at Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid. ![]()

How is Ferrara going out of his way and acknowledging Santacroce and Milan doesn't even seem interested. I can only hope I am a fool who completely fails to understand B and G. Quote:
The transfer campaign doesn't look promising for this club and it's hard for the rational mind to understand why.

Just want to welcome back Di Gennaro, am glad we held onto him.
As for Santacroce, we surely must attempt to go for him, it's such a shame we simply aren't acknowledging him, instead we're linked to Mertersacker today for 14m euros (wtf!? how can someone so bad be so pricey). About these arguments about Galliani's comments, let's bear in mind they are the minimum objectives this season. Essentially, it's the least we expect to get from the new season. Oh, and Galliani says the Cissokho deal is unlikely. btw, I know people are complaining about Favalli's renewal, but he's been ok and as last choice backup I have no complaints. Personally, I'd say keep him, sell Kala and get Santa. |

even galliani has negative expectations for next season all he wants to do is finish in the top 3. Now if the director doesn't expect to get any trophies that tell you volumes on what he expects the team to accomplish. Let be realistic we sold one of the most promising players in football than we sold our best milan with no one in the squad who can replace him this isn't the best recipe for future success. almost the entire first team is over the age of 30 if milan don't win any trophies we can expect pato and flamini to move to a new club all of our competitors have made some fantastic signings how can you be optimistic. the current squad isn't good enough we are going to win any trophies we will make another loss next year and if ronaldinho and pato get a long term injury than we will be lucky to finish in a Europa league spot.
* Milan During the workshops at Villasimius involving Milan's management and their sponsors, vice-president Adriano Galliani declared what the team's objectives for next season should be, keeping a decidedly low profile. "We want to finish in the top three and go as far as possible in the Champions League," he said to ilcittadinomb.it. "Milan can and absolutely must reach these objectives with these players and this coach." On the transfer campaign, Galliani said: "We are not in a hurry, it's not obligatory that our reinforcements arrive before 6 July [when Milan begin their summer training camp]. "It is my twenty-fourth transfer campaign, in previous years Fininvest always invested a lot of money, but considering the current reality we are taking things easier. Let's hope that next year things will be able to do things the way we always did. |

He had a good season so I dont know why are objecting to him being a back-up. Trouble starts when he's made to assume the role he had this season.

Galliani can say what he wants. I want to see how the beam performs on the field and then I'll make my comments. To me, it makes no difference if Galliani says will go for the Scudetto or 3rd place.......after all this past season was supposed to be all about the scudetto and look where we ended up. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter what Galliani says until we actually see the performances on the field (even though I can see how it is annoying when he says something like that).
----By the way, I haven't read anywhere that Galliani actually did say we'll go for the top 3.....I'm just replying to what I read here. About the market.....I am fuming too, but then I look at the date and realize that the market hasn't even officially started. I guess people await it so much that they can't wait for signings and storm the comments before the market even begins. I already mentioned this before so I don't want to sound like a broken record....but it seems like there are reports coming out every day about Santacroce, and WE ARE NOT INTERESTED!!! That is just simply stupid from Galliani and the management (including Leonardo because he should mention Santa as well just like Ferrara is). Santacroce has a load of potential and everyone knows that. He is a star in the making and if we don't mix ourselves into this one, then I'll really be fuming. In other news, Fiorentina is about to sign Drenthe on a loan with the option to buy for 8mil I think. That is a great deal and another one that we should be mixed in. I don't care what people think of Drenthe.....he has attitude, he failed at Real, etc. Say what you want, but he is a player with great potential and that can be useful for any club. He is an explosive player......something that we don't have in our team. He doesn't have to be a starter (of course if he comes in and performs then why not), but he will be highly useful because of he explosiveness. He is willing to take on players and move the ball forward as well as whip in some crosses. He brings energy into the game........again something we don't have on our bench. So again, no matter what you think of this player he can be highly highly useful for us especially for the price that he is leaving for. Also, on tuttomercatoweb.com we are linked with Mertesacker from Werder today. They site someone else claiming that the price Werder wants is 14mil Euro. Not a bad deal if you ask me, if he is brought in to be a back up. Maybe not one of the big profile signings that people cry for.....but not a bad player at all, of course if he is meant to be a back up. (if Werder asks for 14, he can surely be bought for somewhere around 9/10mil) There is nothing concrete though, and I would much rather spend the money on Santacroce or Bochetti.

Didn't Galliani said that we'll build our team with young players with potential like Cissokho before the negotiation stalled? You're moving to the wrong direction if you still have a player of that calibre in your team.

Sometimes, I just ask myself if people think about what they say (it's not for you Nalx), especially when I read things like "sell Seedorf, Pirlo, Kaladze, retire Favalli, sell Jankulovski ..." in the same sentence. Buying 5 players is already a lot, if we do sell the players some people want us to sell, we will have to buy a complete new team ... it's completely unrealistic (and it's even more unrealistic when we see what are the prices they think we can sell those players). - Thiago Silva, Abate, Di Gennaro are our players. - Dzeko, Adebayor (sic ... but anyway, he can only be better than Sheva so it's an improvement) or Huntelaar will surely arrive. - I think we will have one of the players from Madrid before the end of the mercato ... - we will probably also have a midfielder (maybe he will be a guy from Madrid) - Cissokho seems unlikely to join us but if we tried to take a LB, it's because Leonardo surely stated that Zambrotta will play as the RB who will try to attack and wants a LB who can both attack and defend (what can't do Jankulovski). Add Albertazzi to the team too (backup). The team lost its best player, but the team was too predictable because we almost exclusively relied on our best player. Next year, we will have a more complete team with a new coach (so a new vision), we will be unpredictable again (because with the likes of Abate and Di Genarro for example, we have many possibilities to make our team when we add them to the players we already have), which could mean we will be better next year than this year or last year. And to finish, Galliani saying our objectives are a place in the top 3 of Serie A and to go as far as we can in CL is normal ... he can't put too much pressure on Leonardo: the guy will coach for the first time of his life and they sold the best player. So, if Leonardo can bring a new vision of football in Milan (and can manage to have good results), the results could be better than what is officially expected. If Galliani said "next year, I want both CL and Serie A" (which is quite unrealistic after two seasons like we just had), just imagine the pressure on Leo's shoulders !! I understand our feelings.....I daresay that the people that are criticizing you simply don't take A.C. Milan as seriously as you do. That's why our descent doesn't bother them as much as it does you. I am amazed how much I agree with you one practically everything....it's like we spoke or something ![]() Kaka: To me Kaka is still THE best player in the world. But even if he isn't an say Messi, Ibra or CR7 are better....there are intangibles that are very hard to replace with his sale....Kaka was a gentleman, a family man, a humble man, a quiet person, while at the same time being one of the FASTEST, MOST SKILLFUL and BRILLIANT players EVER.....you know who is the only person I can think of that fits that description?? MALDINI but Maldini had to leave..........why sell the only other like him?? Yeah Yeah we're broke....sure...that's why Galliani came out to the press BOASTING about how much money Milan makes huh .....now even if I were to buy the "poor us we're sooooo broke argument" WHY sell GOURCUFF the only person who could do a half decent job of replacing Kaka?really I have indeed said the above like a zillion times....but I feel the need to keep saying it because people don't seem to realize that with the Kaka-Gourcuff sale we seem to have lost all ambition ![]() Now our ambition is to make the top 3 But AGAIN this means nothing to some users simply because Milan isn't that big of a deal to them...and truth be told that's TOTALLY fine But don't knock Mrki and insult him because it has him upset....Silly comments like if he ever had a girlfriend and other personal attacks are uncalled for.Dzeko: Dzeko is an unproven striker and from what I've seen NOTHING special but then again neither is Milan....Getting Dzeko to replace Kaka is like putting Booster Gold to replace Superman in the Justice League ![]() Transfers: Also the lack of any decent links to the top players.....which has turned every Milan fan into a football scout is heartbreaking ...you'd never hear about us seriously in the running for a Santacroce, Benzema, G.Rossi, D.DRossi, Aguero, Messi, CR7, Torres etc etc....it's always unknown, unproven, unskilled or unfit players........... Adriano Galliani: Galliani is a true Milan fan...I have no doubt about that and he is a VERY intelligent man. That is clear....but he's is forced to do all these shady and sleazy deals because he has NOTHING to work with....Now he's has pulled ANOTHER fast one under our eyes and many have bought it...bringing back our kids..other than Abate (who himself isn't that special but he does have a LOT of speed) none are really that great. None have been lighting it up except Pierre Aubemyang (which meant that we sent him away of course ). So now he has another excuse for failure: "We're a young team" ....But it's not Adriano's fault for our downfall......it's berlu's Grazie for all you have done for us Sr but PLEASE SELL A.C. Milan
