Yes, I would love to see Albertazzi perform well. We need a quality defnder before a goalkepper or striker. the latest signing is a cheap option to simply quieten the Ultras for a while. Fortunantely, we can see through this.....

Generally, a free player won't be good, unless they intentionally hold out to be free, like in the case of Flamini. It is just that I haven't seen anything that convinces me that it is the case.

I'm from Belgium and have seen Onyewu play many times.

He's a very decent defender.
Ok, he hasn't played in a top league, but he's by far the best defender in Belgium, very strong, tall, very good header (very dangerous man in free kicks and corners).

He also played in Europe last season with Standard de Liege, who impressed against a couple of big teams.

He's talented, a decent cb (believe me - better than kaladze etc.), and he's free/cheap.

This could well be a good transfer, but we'll have to wait and see - i have to admit that.

Atleast Senderos and others of the type sucedded in the EPL where he clearly didn't. Better than Kaldaze now? Of course, many people are. But don't expect a clinical and error-free player. this man is more of a meat-head on the field than Senderos, and has the fire in his belly of Gatusso. Bad combination... Putting together the fact that he is 27 as well.

I respectfully disagree. There is no such thing as too physical for Serie A. I think someone joked about having him as CF, but jokes aside, the height and physique can come really handy in many dead-ball situations. I am just worried about his ameteurish (to me) defensive skills which will kill him. I hope that he is not too old to learn. He is a Milan player now, and I will support him 100% - there is no doubt in that.

I am going to leave this thread. I have fulfilled my monthly quota of posting in one hour. Here is a summary of my thoughts on Onyewu transfer:
I am not thrilled as I don't see him turning into Nesta; I rate Bonera much higher than him. If he could become some useful backup, I would be more than satisfied.
I am not angry either, and I agree that it is a risk-free (thus smart) move, and the added benefit might be a good share of U.S. market. so what the heck. This transfer in itself is harmless.
But if our market stops right after this (as some might fear), then I would be angry. and I probably will be annoyed to read all stupid comments Galliani may have on this one. So hopefully he will just shut up and get to work quickly and get us someone else.

Atleast he seems professional and came free. that however, doesn't make up for his lack of quality....

Bit underwhelmed, not a 'young' signing, but hopefully will be good.
I also like Galliani's quote of "I've never said Milan have the third place as the objective, but one of the first three places. So, the first, the second or the third."

Surprisingly, many rate this player highly, some even going to say he is amongst the top 10 full-backs in the world!!!!!!!!!

I am yet to see if the creators of these videos are American at origin.
