Man, 50 pages of this tiresome waiting! I bet he'll end up in Juve in the end! ;)
It's not out of the question. It is rumoured today that Chelsea are going after Trezeguet. So if they sell him they will be in the market for a center forward.

Luca Baraldi is no more the Parma's managing director.
He has resigned, stating his decision with a vague 'personal reasons'.

i think his resignation is mre likely due to the change in ownership at parma. there are claims going round that a swiss investor has bought the club.

We got Nesta instead of Cannavaro, remember? An even better solution...
Does that mean you are afraid we might get Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho instead of Gilardino this time? :dconf:
id rather have ronaldinho instead of gila from that list.... as a matter of fact, id rather have gila, i like ronaldinho but the player in the world we need the most is gila and besides ronaldinho even in his off games always gets the praise (the 2nd half of this season), i tihnk gila is more efficient.
Y haven't we settled the Gila issue yet? After all i don't c Milan buying any other player.Might as well splash the cash on him

Apparently Berlusconi told journalists that Gilardino was too expensive and that anyway he doubted Parma's new owners would sell him.
Quite a bad news... :angf:
At the same time he said the same thing about Nesta in 2002 :rone:

In one word: Strategy, what happens if Milan makes a serious offer for Gila, Parma accepts, changes owners and don't accept the offer??
Galliani and Braida are intelligence, first see the new Parma owners, next, buy Gila at his correct prize.

not only that but also Gila has a contract with Parma until the summer of 2006 i.e. one more year with them. If he is willing to leave Parma, and he seems to be just that, new owner or not they will have to sell him now for next year he would leave anyway without Parma getting a cent for him.

I think we should have bought him when we had the chance. He really wanted to come to us and he's a great young player coming with a guarantee of scoring goals, that's the kind of player we need.
If we don't get Gilardino, bring on Fernando Torres! :3band:

FULL STORY FROM skysports.com:
Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed that Milan will not continue to pursue a deal for Parma striker Alberto Gilardino.
The Milan supremo has confirmed that Parma are asking too high a fee for their prolific marksman and that, in any case, they are now reluctant to sell.
Gilardino, who has also been watched by Chelsea, had been expected to complete a move to Milan but the deal now appears to have reached an impasse.
Berlusconi has revealed that with Parma for sale - a Swiss group are expected to purchase the Gialloblu in the next few days - the future of Gilardino is far from certain.
Italy's Prime Minister believes Gilardino is now to stay at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, with the club's likely new owners reluctant to sell.
''He will remain at Parma and it isn't only because he is too expensive,'' said Berlusconi.
''But also because he is no longer on the market.
''They (Parma) are negotiating the club's sale and so I think that they who buy Parma wouldn't like to let Gilardino leave.''
Whilst a move for Gilardino appears for the moment to be beyond Chelsea and Milan not interested in Jose Mourinho's admiration for Andrei Shevchenko, fresh speculation has linked the English champions with David Trezeguet.
The Juventus hit-man has never expressed an inclination to quit the Turin giants but this has not stopped several sources linking the Frenchman with a move to Stamford Bridge.
----------------------------------------------------
This may be posturing. However, if Gila is off the market and he really wants to come to Milan, then we will get him next season.
If not, then I am sure the new owners will reach a deal with Galliani and co.
Either way a win-win situation.
IMo we do not need a new striker if all our frwards are ready to play... at least we have now even four of them, including Crespo who is likey to remain in San Siro.
Regarding that last season we played only with three strikers [Pippa was injured entire season] we play very very good, I do not see a problem not to acquire any of forwards this year.

Crespo is 30, Sheva is 29, Inzaghi is 32 and Tomasson is inconsistent.

probable options can be Bazzani, Corradi or any other experienced italian guy... though I prefer Tevez or Torres instead ;)

I am not convinced the Gila deal is over. Why would Parma's new owners not want to sell a player they might lose for free next summer?
Furthermore, Gila wants to leave. I think Gila is near.
I hope the same but we have to cope with problems we have now, and look at the future like Gila's case is over. It will make a double benefit. First would be that we do not be so dependent on Gila, as the only striker we can sign. And another would be a pressure on Parma's official to reduce Gila's price because, he is not the only option for us and we can sign another striker who is much cheaper ;)

Gilardino not coming to Milan wouldn't be the end of the world. We really don't need to spend 25 million euros on a player who may end up on the bench anyway. I would be content with Crespo, a full strength Pippo, Sheva, and another striker. I would like to see Makinwa in Milan.
But I really do want Gila next year! :5ok:

Consider this we paid 28 million pounds for Rui Costa, who has largely proved to be average. Yes he was plagued by injuries but he never became the player he was at Fiorentina.
Why cannot Silvio Berlusconi take a chance on Gila for three million less? It would be really infuriating if Gila did not come :r7:
Firstly, Sheva is 28 :)
Secondly, Makinwa will join Inter
Lastly, Gilardino will not leave for free next year. His contract ends 2007.
Im honestly really disappointed that Gilardino is not coming. However, we are now being linked with Il Fenomeno, Ronaldo!
Imagine how Milan Lab can help him back to his ultra-super-genius-wonderful self. WOW!
no no no not ronaldo.
I hope Cassano is the next option.

Hasan, you have to remeber that bubbles economy on transfer market were burst out after summer 2001. Nowdays the transfer market behave more ratioanlly than that time.
Like rae said, we are not desperate in need of a forward with Sheva, a recoved Pippo back to the team. JDT's form started to pick up at the end of last season. Don't forget he had netted 12 goals in serie a (2 more than Crespo did last season) to help us to get the Scudetto the season before. He may just regain his confidence.
If need an young Italian foward, how about Udinese's Iaquinta and Brescia's Caracciolo? Esp. Caracciolo, born 1981, 1.94M high, 12 goals 04/05, 11 goals 03/04.
It is a wise decision for the management not to splash out 25M pounds (37M Euro) to buy a "nice-to-have" rather than a " must-have" Gila.
We desperately need a capable sub old Cafu. I'd like we spend some money to find a young & good Italian in this position.
gila is definatly a must have... and eventhough it seems that gila wont be coming, i believe he will, its probably a bluff (hopefully)
actually, i noticed we go for experience mainly on the defensive end of our team... as for our attack minded players i dont think the management minds alot about the striker being young. gila is the best choice we there is for us in the whole market i believeyeah, but I should amend yer notation... when we acquired Rui Costa and Pippo they were not so young. They are much cheaper, and not so bad comapring to those two.
Furthermore, Caracciolo and Iaquinta are not the last two players to choose. IMO Esposito also can be an option, and a very good option, regading his price declared now £8mio. It is an offer from Monaco. But I guess we are bigger club and more attarctive to him, cuz we are from his native land - Italia.
Inter is not a team for him. If he has two teams to choose - us and perdenti, I bet he choose us unless he is harcore perdentista and do not want to achieve anything.
And what about Luca Toni? He is enough experienced, which is a very significant part for our managers. He has proven his ability to score in Serie A. I guess we can give him a chance to show himself in european arena. What do you think?
Never leave only one striker as an option - we should widen our eyesight and lok around. Gila [and Cassano] are not the only wealthy options ;)
Iaquinta, Caracciolo, Toni, Bazzani and so on are the alternatives, but think that it's possible that Crespo and/or Tomasson don't stay in Milan, so a striker is necesary as like as a backup for Cafú.
With only 2 signings and 4 players out (Abbiati, Brocchi, Dhorasoo and probably Crespo or Tomasson) Milan needs to sign 2 more players to compensate the squad.
The story as reported on channel 4:
Berlusconi shuts door on Gila
Saturday 25 June, 2005
Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi says he won't spend £25m for Alberto Gilardino, but warns even Chelsea might not be able to afford him soon.
“Gilardino is too expensive and at that price I really wouldn’t buy him,” said the Italian Prime Minister.
This is replicating what Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani had explained earlier this week following a meeting with Parma directors.
Gilardino and his agent have made it clear that they would prefer a move to the San Siro, but the Tardini outfit are in a tricky financial condition and refuse to lower his price-tag.
Milan’s position on this matter could push the star striker towards Chelsea, who have also confirmed there interest in him, but Berlusconi suggests there could be a twist in this transfer tale.
“In any case, I don’t think he’s on the market any more because Parma’s new owners will want such a valuable player to stay with them,” said the club patron.
There have been strong newspaper reports over the last couple of days that a Swiss IT company is in the final stages of takeover talks and will revolutionise the Parma squad with the arrival of Coach Zdenek Zeman and former Roma director of sport Franco Baldini.
If Parma’s financial difficulties are resolved and the new owners wish to build a successful side, then even Chelsea’s millions might not be enough to tempt them into parting with Gilardino.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know, I generally don't trust anything Berlusconi and Galliani says. This may be a negotiations tactic.

Yes I agree. But Milan do have an opulent patron in Berlusconi, surely he can buck a trend or two in the market.
As for Iaquinta...I saw him play all season (even in the flesh) and while he puts himself about, he does not strike me as someone prolific. In the end we do not need a Corradi-esque player who can "hold" the ball for Sheva does that well.
We need a prolific marksman. And Gila is prolific. Inzaghi has been plagued with injury and at 32 his maginficent career is on the wane.
If Crespo or Tomasson leave then we will be in the market for a striker. And a club of Milan's stature must go for Gilardino. We have not spent much since 2002.
True fiscal austerity is the phrase of the market but if we want to remain competitive we must have supreme options in attack.
This season we were so dependent on Shevchenko. True, Crespo weighed in big, but in the league we sorely missed the Ukrainian.
If I had to pick 4 players at the beginning of this summer I would go for:
1) Oddo 2) Jankulovski 3) Esposito and 4) Gilardino.
I don't know, I generally don't trust anything Berlusconi and Galliani says. This may be a negotiations tactic.yeah, it must be a negotiation tactic, as well as a shown interest to other strikers, in order to let Parma see that they may not recieve that amount of money they have stated for Gila. That would be some kind of pressure ;) :mex:

Yes exactly. We need also to have more Italians in our team. I mean the stranieri are good, but Milan are located in Italy, last time I checked :u56:
Toni is a good option but we need a wide player like Esposito, especially after Seedorf's late season debacle.
but Berlu's point is that the new owners will want to keep him and build a team around him.

Indeed, that is a possible scenario. Just to point out that we wouldn't necessarily "be in big trouble", as you stated it, even if Sheva suffered an injury.
With that I don't say I would mind a Shev clone :diablo: Only that the quality of our remaining players guarantees competitiveness.

Crespo's move is getting more complicated (from SkySports):
Reports in Italy have suggested that talks to keep Hernan Crespo at Milan could now fail after the breakdown of Chelsea's move for Kakha Kaladze.
The Serie A outfit are still keen to thrash out a deal to keep Crespo in Italy and their preference is another season-long loan.
Talks will continue this week, but it is now being claimed that Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants to take Crespo back to Stamford Bridge next season to bolster his striking options.
The failure of Chelsea to sign Kaladze is also being put forward as a reason the Argentine could find himself back in London, as it is believed to have soured relations between the two clubs.
Crespo is expected to meet either Mourinho or Blues owner Roman Abramovich in the near future to make a personal plea to allow him to remain in Italy, whilst his agent Fernando Hidalgo is desperately trying to keep a dialogue between the two sides open.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Things are getting murky with Crespo. personally I hope the deal falls through and we give Parma what they want. Bring GILA to the San Siro!

Failure? Chelsea has Del Horno!!!! A very promising young spanish left back, so Chelsea abandons the idea of sign Kaladze.
Crespo don't stay in Milan, Tomasson is near of stays in Milan another season, with Inzaghi and... ¿?

At least Crespo showed his worth in Milan and that he can be succesful playing with the rossonero shirt (and play effectively with Sheva as partner). We cant say the same thing about Gila, so first we must extend Hernan's loan and then focus on Gila. We need both. And I wanted Makinwa as 4th striker but he is joining Inter, apparently.

This is how i see this case:
By all means, Milan don't like to wait when it comes to transfers. We always seem to finish our deals quickly like in the last 2 years..I dont know why, but i have always always always had doubts about this transfer, because all the media have been saying that he is certainly going to be joining Milan for next season from a long time ago. My reason might not make sense, but i think if we get him, we need to wait a month more at least...And dont be surprised if he ends up in Juve, he has always showed that he preferred Juve over us..
If I am right, I think there is some sort of agreement between Juve, Gila and Parma already..Parma are lifting his price because they know that Milan dont spend much, they are only doing that to take more time, which will bring Juve into the situation. I think that Moggi is trying to do one of his surprise transfers, he might send Mutu to Parma, and even sacrifice Trezeguet, just to get Gilardino. I could see that Juve are being linked to Cassano only to distract us, to get Gilardino as a surprise.
Personally, I would love Gilardino to come, but i really think that this has gone too far. Its getting like the Cannavaro case. Im not very familiar with Milan's tranfers strategies from the past years, but im very curious, do Milan make surprise transfers? The only ones I have witnessed are of Dhorasoo and Vogel. I know they are champions, but they arent from the highest level. When I ask my question, i mean, do Milan make surprise transfers buying top-level strikers?
Also, another question I have, are Galliani and Berlusconi men of their words? Galliani has stated the JDT and Dhorasoo will stay for next season, and I have recently read a report that we have agreed a deal to sell Dhorasoo to PSG. Berlusconi also said that he will not buy Gilardino at this price. Guys, isn't Berlusconi supposed to be richer than Abramovic? We havent spend much at all in the last 2 years, why cant we splash out the cash this summer?
In the case that we do not get Gilardino, or anyone else, we should not at all be disappointed, as we have Crespo (which i strongly think will remain in Milan, the news will be confirmed in a couple of weeks), Pippo, who says he will be returning to his top form (but he has been saying that for the last 2 years and havent seen much of him at all), JDT, who when is in top form, is certainly useful (but, key question is, how often is he in top form?). The only reliable striker we have is Sheva, I dont want to even think what could possibly happen if he gets injured. True that we did well without him this year for a month, but we certainly struggled every single game without him. Other options we may look at are: Cassano. He is valued at 20million! He is cheaper than Gilardino, and IMO, has a brighter future than Gila. Another option is Robinho which I truly admire, but i am 100% convinced we will not get him as he is valued at 30million and he wants to go to Real. Another is Ronaldo, I really do wish that we could get Ronaldo. I am truly convinced that with our excellent Milan lab, we will turn Ronaldo back into the player he was before. I really wish we will get him, BUT, Galliani did state that we will not sign nor Ronaldo nor Ronaldinho, because they are too expensive.. you cant believe how disappointed I am everytime I see milan say we cant get a player cuz he's too expensive..
anyway, even if we dont get any other player, we already have a perfect squad.. all that we are missing is Oddo, and even if we dont get him, it wouldnt be a big deal. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MILAN BUY CICINHO!

We havent spend much at all in the last 2 years, why cant we splash out the cash this summer?

interesting reasoning...but Gila has maintained that he wants to come to Milan. Anything is possible however...
Nah Gilardino is first and foremost a Juve fan, thats obvious.
He used to sleep at night in a Juve kit :(
He must have had nightmares ever night :( :D
hitmannq8, good post but all of what you say can be explained easily...reports read on websites and most newspapers are just rumours.
Might not be Milan's strategy but Berlusconi can and will spend if he decides to.
Juve and Milan don't usually compete in transfers, one will not drive prices up on a player the other wants.
There have been plenty of surprises but it depends what you call a surprise...for example Rui and Pippo were 'rumours' in those sites and papers but still were surprises to many.
Crespo don't stay in Milan, Tomasson is near of stays in Milan another season, with Inzaghi and... ¿? IMO he is Sheva :rollani:
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MILAN BUY CICINHO!It would be perfect :star: :strong: :5schal:

Nesta comes to mind after all media attention was focused on Cannavaro. Redondo equally so (allthough that didn't turn out like we had hoped)
Also, another question I have, are Galliani and Berlusconi men of their words?
No (remember the "we will get Ronaldo, Figo or Beckham" promise?)
But they don't sell stars :star:
I think Gilla will be Chelsea player! And I`m happy that Kaladze stays! He is good player! But I thought Crespo stays too! Very sad about last news on Crespo!

This just in from channel 4 football Italia:
Milan get back in to Gila race Sunday 26 June, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alberto Gilardino’s move to Milan could still be on after all, explains Vice-President Adriano Galliani, though Chelsea’s competition remains.
This week patron Silvio Berlusconi told journalists that he believed Parma’s new owners would keep hold of their top scorer, even if someone were to meet his £25m price-tag.
“It is true that Gilardino is too expensive right now, but Berlusconi does not know for sure that the new Tardini owners are against his sale altogether,” pointed out Galliani. “All he was talking about was a hunch rather than any insider information.”
This means that the door is still open for developments in this on-going transfer saga. Gilardino and his agent have made it perfectly clear for some months now that his preferred destination is Milan – this could prove decisive.
While Chelsea are distracted by the chance of signing Juve’s David Trezeguet or even Atletico Madrid starlet Fernando Torres, the Rossoneri will continue to whittle down the difference between asking price and offer.
They cannot afford to wait around, however, as Hernan Crespo is increasingly likely to be recalled by Chelsea and Pippo Inzaghi’s injury worries mean he cannot be relied upon to take the strain of an entire season.
Italian newspaper ‘Corriere dello Sport-Stadio’ claims this morning that Milan are instead turning their attention towards Antonio Cassano and have offered cash plus Christian Abbiati and Jon Dahl Tomasson to seal the £13m deal, but it’s believed that if Berlusconi is to bring in one major new signing it will be Gilardino.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Our intuitions were correct and the declarations on Friday appear to be shrewd strategy.
If we are torn between Gila or Cassano then I am extremely happy, even though I prefer the former :dielaugh:

That might be true but he seems to have jilted that sentimentalism by openly stating his preference for Milan.
Many players who support a club growing up rarely end up there.

What a transfer saga. Go on and complete the deal or let it be!
Even if we don't get Gila,we can use that cash 2 buy strikers like Iaquinta and Vucinic. They r value 4 money and they're quite effective. From the way i c it ,Milan won't b affected even if we don't get Gila. We seriously need 2 get rid of Inzaghi. He's injury prone and he is old

i am not the one to privilege star-power over utility.
However, look at the scoring charts. Iaquinta is not very prolific though he is moderately useful. We need a goalscorer to help Sheva. With that said, Cassano is a scorer of great goals but not a great goalscorer. But when given a consistent run -- i.e. when not weighed down by petulance -- he scores and sets up.
I have seen Iaquinta play in person and while he is impressive he is not ready for Milan yet.
As for Vucinic...well a) he is not for sale b) it would be nice to have young Italian talent in our team :smileani:
Iaquinta is not the only one guy. Di Michele, Toni, Lucarelli, Caracciolo, Flachi, Corradi, Esposito are all quite good strikers.
IMO, the worst tie we can get in CL round 3 is Udinese if they keep all those players

well well i spoke too soon
from channel 4:
Despite scoring 50 League goals in two seasons, Palermo admit they are ready to sell Luca Toni and bring in Andrea Caracciolo as his replacement.
“Toni cannot expect to get any more money out of Palermo,” slammed President Maurizio Zamparini. “His current wages will not be increased. It is true that he is now an Italian international, but it’s not as if we cut his salary when we were in Serie B.”
Fresh from netting 20 goals in 35 appearances this season – almost half of the Sicilians’ total tally of 48 – Toni’s agent requested a meeting to discuss his future, but was given short shrift.
“If Toni wants to earn more money then he’d better hope that Milan, Juventus or Inter come to buy him,” added Zamparini.
The notion that this is no mere empty threat came when Brescia patron Gino Corioni revealed this weekend that the club had made an offer for Andrea Caracciolo. “I think Palermo is in his future,” he confirmed.
Caracciolo’s similarity in style and stature to Toni would suggest he is being drafted in as a replacement rather than a partner.
This has alerted all the big clubs to Toni’s availability and the former Brescia man could be a cheaper alternative to Alberto Gilardino for Milan.

I have seen Caracciolo for several times, he made me a good impression especially in matches against us.
I also do not deteriorate abilities of Toni, who is a super striker IMO. Almost 50 goals in two seasons is Gila's worthy achievement.

it pisses me off when i see clubs like udinese now and porto and monaco last season self destruct themselves so easily...
they have a great season and for a second they seem to look like they could be the next big thing to hit european football only to sell most of their stars and especially their influential coaches and replacing them by ones that are completly crap

agree. The changes that are taking place in Udine can only hurt Italy's image in the CL. Under the circumstances, I am sure fans of Italian calcio would rather have Samp as the fourth team in the CL rather than Udinese.

Who can refuse the lure of something called Cash $$$ ??
Udinese would sell their star players in order to get profit from it and to buy replacement players with equal quality ( and reasonable price ). It's like when Juve sold Zidane and brought Nedved to Delle Alpi, the same case.
It pleased me when I heard Chelsea offered Milan 87 million pounds for Shevchenko ( that means Sheva would be the most expensive transfer so far ) but then Milan rejected their proposal. Who in this world don't need cash? even big clubs do! But they must realize in order to live long you need to have a healthy living condition, if you sell the health living condition, then prepare to get sick and die.
Milan is surely a club who knows how to make himself healthy, don't you agree?

Well, I didnt post lately coz i hoped one day ill just read: " Milan sign Gilardino..." But... it looks like something is really wrong and I really dont understand galliani and silvio. We have pippo ( 32 ), JDT ( useless), crespo ( not our player yet!!), and the king- sheva. If we can sell tomasson and net crespo, a club like milan can surely play around 30mil for player of Gila's calibre. He is 23, Italian and worls class striker!! Im afraid juve has something to do with it, and it looks they will get mancini from roma alost for free....i cant believe!!! It really makes me sick!!

well why not earn that money by actually progressing well through the CL and keeping the players u had aswell... oh and for the record, i said the thing that pisses me off about these clubs is that they replace them with crap players so the nedved as zidane replacement at juve example doesnt imply here... god man, udinese sold jankulovski and got a crappy candela for him? while the year before, carvalho is sold by porto and this kid from the B team takes his place, why not sign dellas instead? u get around 20M for carvalho and as i recall dellas cost 4M at that time so thats a big profit

does anyone else think our midfield could use a bigger boost too? I understand the need for a forward, however our Midfield's legs wore out down the stretch and the backup's well they didn't exactly help carry us as we lost the league durring that same period of time, I understand Vogel and Marek will help, I am wondering about a frontline starter . . .

pleaso no ballack. he is a fine player but he is 29 years old and imho a bit overrated. there have to better solutions.
why don't we just play marek in midfield and kaladze on the left side of defense.
@gilardino transfer: of course it would be great to get him but i don't think it is a necessity. if we secure crespo i would ease the pressure for us and we could relax. i don't think we had a striker problem this year when shevchenko and crespo were fit. jdt is not the best striker but a very loyal player who can be very useful when in form. this year he had some bad periods but that can happen to every striker and pippo is when fit again also a great asset. our problem where the flanks.
imo the left side was mostly non-existant when maldini and seedorf played there so we had to go through the middle (which can be closed down quite easily) or rely on cafu. with jankulovski this problem has beend adressed and our strikers should get better support and also the players in the middle of the field more spaces.

Good point...but I really hope the Crespo deal collapses. I might be a little selfish, but I really want a young, talented striker like Gila rather than a 30-year-old Crespo.
Sheva and Gila should be our first choice in attack next year. JDT and Inzaghi backups.
Personally I would sell JDT and bring in Luca Toni (he is on the market) and Gila.
personally i would sell both jdt and inzaghi, and i would sign crespo gila and a diminutive forward like saviola
I doubt that Inzaghi could be sold given his high salary and propensity to get injured. I personally like JDT as he seem to accept being 4th choice and can actually play some very attractive football when in form.
Gila and Sheva would be my first choice. Robinho would be nice, but not likely to happen.
I still think we will end up getting Gilardino, but it will not be before sometime in the end of July.
I still think it would be too much getting BOTH Crespo and Gilardino. So if we have Sheva, Gilardino, Inzaghi and JDT next season, that will be sweet music in my ears. Still Crespo is a great player...
Luca Toni will be a great striker for Milan and for me!
I doubt that Inzaghi could be sold given his high salary and propensity to get injured.
i think u need to rephrase that... because he has a high salary and gets injured then he should be more likely to be sold, i find him practically useless and a complete waste of money.
we should aim at getting both gila and crespo and its very very possible... both as of late have been simply amazing and they must stay, as for 4th choice i wouldnt mind jdt but id rather have a player in the mold of saviola and plus jdt seems to be the most likely one out
Inzaghi must go! And JDT seems to stay! If Milan was not so snoob we could buy Crespo, Gilla, Ballack and so on! We must be like Chelsea!

well today we are apparently getting rid of Dhorasoo. The player is on his way to PSG. I always thought he was useful but if Milan can get 10 million pounds combined between him and JDT then we can surely afford Gila.

I think Henrik means, that he doesn't think anyone would take Inzaghi, given his high wages and injury problems of late.
Why get rid of Inzaghi...?? If he is not injured, he is still one of the most deadly players in the penalty box - I feel he will be back at this best next season!
From TGCOM.IT
Milan, spunta Van Nistelrooy

Milan, dulls Van Nistelrooy would be agreement with the player With the Gilardino transaction in full situation of stall, the market del Milan could reserve one large surprise. The rossonero club would be in fact on the centravanti of the Manchester United Ruud Van Nistelrooy with which it would have already caught up an agreement on one's word. Alex Ferguson asks 15 million euro for the Dutch but the cost could be lowered inserting Jon Dahl Tomasson in the negotiation. The million euro demands are in fact 15, but on this plan us agreement road could be one: Alex Ferguson in fact would have said satisfied of having with if Jon Dahl Tomasson, whose cartellino it would come estimated around 10 million euro. Milan, spunta Van Nistelrooy

Translated in Babelfish....
Tomasson (Grace Black) Of the hypothesis Van Nistelrooy already some time had been spoken ago, when the relationships between the Dutch player and the English club were appeared more and more deteriotate to you. Putting in a corner of forehead to first chosen Gilardino, hour seems to be returned of the present time. They would have been just represents to you of the player to come to Milan to offer theirs assisted to the rossonero club that has shown a lot interested establishing one risen of gentleman agreement. The problem sure is represented from the cost of the cartellino that, paradoxicalally, it is however more approachable than that one than Gilardino. The million euro demands are in fact 15, but on this plan us agreement road could be one: Alex Ferguson in fact would have said satisfied of having with if Jon Dahl Tomasson, whose cartellino it would come estimated around 10 million euro. To the fine therefore Van Nistelrooy it could cost to Milan only 5 million, a true price from balance. In alternative it would have to try to yield the Danish to an other square in order to recover a part of moneies in order to cover the richeste of English. Because the Manchester decides but to leave to leave the Dutch without too many problems is fundamental that the negotia

Now u have read it somewhere else,Here it is:
Rossoneri turn to Ruud Tuesday 28 June, 2005
With Alberto Gilardino’s price-tag still too expensive, Milan have reportedly turned their attention towards Ruud van Nistelrooy.
There are claims that the Dutchman has already given his verbal consent to the move after a disappointing and injury-ravaged campaign at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson would allegedly be willing to part with van Nistelrooy for £10m, though that figure could be lowered by the inclusion of Jon Dahl Tomasson (pictured) as part of the deal.
Italian newspapers suggest that the former PSV Eindhoven hitman’s agents travelled to Milan in order to propose the switch and the Rossoneri are content with the financial package – considerably smoother than the £25m Parma have requested for Gilardino.
A new striker is needed at the San Siro, as Hernan Crespo is increasingly unlikely to extend his Serie A stay. Chelsea are finding it difficult to sign a replacement for the Argentine and are selling Mateja Kezman to Atletico Madrid.
“I am not relaxed at all,” revealed Crespo in the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’. “I am trying not to think about it and wait to see what happens. I want to talk to Chelsea over the next few days, but my agent has told me to stay calm and is trying to set up a meeting.
................................................................
This seems to be true, what do u guys think of this? But i would personally prefer Gilardino over Ruud, but Vanistelrooy wont be a bad choice.Just look at his records.

I agree with snapster and i also hope to god its not true, he's injury prone and can't score from more than 6 yards out either he has an impressive champs league record but only against minor teams (as utd always seem to get them, and up against a decent side they go out of europe) and most of his goals come from penalties, (12 in 1 league season if i remember right)
Milan are gonna lose out on gilla and thats gonna be a massive blow,
What the fu8k are the board doing why are they messing about, Gilla's not just an awesome buy he's an investment too, they sign him for 25 million now and in 2 years he'll be worth 50 or 60 maybe even more with the way football is going, i feel they keep all the money Milan earn to live the rich life for themselves, Inter never win anything but always have the money to spend, luckily up to now Milan haven't needed to be too extravagent in there spending but i think this time they will be making a big mistake if they don't splash out the cash, the simple fact is that Milan are an ageing side and need to buy proven younsters, there's no time to wait a few years for youth from the ranks. Calm down pirlo2004....really now, lets take a deep breath, hold, then exhale, and lets look at these points:
Milan are gonna lose out on gilla and thats gonna be a massive blow,
1. How can you be so sure? Think positively, the negotiations are ongoing, and should be final by July 14, when Milan hope to conclude their transfer season.
What the fu8k are the board doing why are they messing about, Gilla's not just an awesome buy he's an investment too, they sign him for 25 million now and in 2 years he'll be worth 50 or 60 maybe even more with the way football is going,
2. Trust me, I do not believe for a minute that they are messing about, and because we are not a "selling" club, it doesnt matter how much he will be worth in the future, as if he proves as much of an asset to the club as Sheva has, then he will never be sold...look at Weah...he could have been sold, but was allowed to leave on a free, so as to command higher wages at his new club...
i feel they keep all the money Milan earn to live the rich life for themselves,,
3. Now that is a conspiracy theory if ever I heard one...please try to remember that the owner of the club, is also one of its biggest fans, he may be egotistical, but who wouldnt be with all his money? And to let you know, Milan has not, as a club, made a profit for years, and every year, Berlu makes up the difference from...you guessed it, his pocket. Think on this. Long and hard my friend...All of Milan´s recent major transfers have come from his wallet, not from the club´s income. Think Van Basten, Gullit, Sheva, Rui Costa, Inzahgi...and thank Berlu, dont curse him..after all, its his money, not ours, not yours.
Inter never win anything but always have the money to spend, luckily up to now Milan haven't needed to be too extravagent in there spending but i think this time they will be making a big mistake if they don't splash out the cash, the simple fact is that Milan are an ageing side and need to buy proven younsters, there's no time to wait a few years for youth from the ranks. SIGN GILLARDINO YOU SH1T BAGS OR SELL THE CLUB TO SOME 1 WHO WILL AND SOME 1 WHO WILL SPEND SOME CASH
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. :stupid: I would rather Berlu than Mr "Change-a-Coach" Moratti anyday. Or would you want a Glaizer type..who dont know diddly about football, but want a shiny new toy for their sons to play with?...
If we can do the deal, it will be done, and dont count out player power.

You make some good points warro my son, of course you do your a Milan fan and we know our sh1t but back home away from seri A i'm a Leeds fan and i know what a chairman and so called life long fan of a club can do with greed,
You mentioned all the players Belu had bought but over the span of what 8 -10 years its not really spending for a club that earns as much as milan, and like i said in my post its good they haven't always had to but every now and then it needs to be done and i think this is 1 of them occasions and how are you so sure about the Gilla deal and the date you say, Belu already said he's not going to pay the 25 millon asking price and now Parma have been taken over i can only see that price tag going up :5schal:

Your way off. Milan could NOT have spent as much as we done without a rich owner that where prepared to pay. If you don't know it we have been working on a deficit that Berlusconi have payed up for several years in a row now. so saying that we don't really spend much is ridicoulus and stupid.
also, a point of advice, don't take to much heed into what they say when it comes to this. I would suggest you read a bit about the Nesta transfer for instance. they deny deny, say we won't buy any players, say we can't afford any players and so on. that is how it works and how they work. That is why I was very suspicious when Berlu junior said that Gilardino WOULD come, that is only sound business if everything is sealed and signed.
Totally agree with Kris... That is the normal mind games being played during the transfer period...
If we miss on gila and get ruud we really ****ed up!! I mean, really.... Juve just signed maresca, miccoli, obodo and chiellini all of them for less than 5 mil!! How can it happen, now they have players to work with on the market! We have to do the same and not just rely on cash!! It seems like they are gonna buy 40% of robinho and bring him in in 2008 when del piero's contract expires! Galliani....do something smart about Gila, and pay the 20-25 mil for the love of god!! And sell some!! It realy goes on my nervs...

As a person living or from the UK, I am sure you are very familiar with the Harry Kewell saga, and how he basically forced Leeds to sell him to the club of his choice...Liverpool...
Parma, and Santos both run the risk of what happened to Leeds happening to them, though in Santos´case, it is different because of the buy out clause.
Chelsea can offer 100M pounds for Gila, but if he refuses to go to Chelsea, Parma cannot force him to make the switch against his will.
Galliani et al are quite experienced negotiators, and I am not in the least concerned that we will get our man...unless we dont, and even if we dont, it probably means the new owners of Parma dont want to sell him period, which again could backfire if he does something like refuse to go to training etc.
They are playing hardball, ie Galliani and Co...and Parma is attempting to do the same, and both are operating with the knowledge that Gila and Milan already have an "agreement"....so, lets relax, sit back, watch the Argentina v Brazil match today, and await the news that Gila has signed for Milan...with serenity.

While I agree with you k7r, I wouldnt get too caught up in that issue, it is, IMO, just a smoke screen, ie a distraction to send a message to Parma, that Gila is not the only world class striker that Milan can approach, and with a reasonable chance for success...

totally true but there is always the possibility of gilardino changing his mind. it's not that improbable. so we shouldn't play the waiting game too long.
It's better that Milan looks for another player, not Ronaldo or Van Nisteelroy, looks only for Gilardino it's a fail, Parma never accepts the Milan offer, except that Milan gives a player to Parma.
Gila don't like to go to Chelsea but the money is the money, Chelsea or stay in Parma, Milan don't offer more than 25 millions euros and Parma likes 31 minimum...

ture, but chelski are still in the hunt for a striker, i think we`re only going to get one of the strikers we originally intended for.
either crespo will stay with chelsea forcing milan to pay full whack for gila, or we agree to a fee with crespo which would then see chelski go for gila as they have already lost kezman.

well for starters Vieri is nowhere near as prolific as he was. Given his style of play and his injuries he has 2 seasons left in him (2 seasons that might yield some goals).
But I may stand corrected in 2006, as Vieri has netted 12 goals this season in Serie A-- two more than Crespo.
He is free but I think Milan need a striker option for thr future.

No, trust me Gilardino will come... It also been said that Vieri has made a gentleman agreement with Inter, that he will not sign at Juve or Milan!
Inter legend Alessandro Altobelli says he wouldn’t be surprised to see Christian Vieri sign for Milan following his Nerazzurri split.
The striker mutually agreed to cancel his Inter contract on Friday and the race for his signature has already begun.
"If he has decided to terminate a deal worth £17m then it is because he has received an interesting offer, perhaps from Milan," the former striker told Datasport.
"Am I joking? No, I’m being very serious and ready to put a wager on it. I don’t think he’ll join Juventus, I doubt he’ll move to Spain or England. Vieri will go to Milan!"
The Rossoneri could in theory make a bid for Vieri, seeing their problems in trying to keep Chelsea owned Hernan Crespo and signing Alberto Gilardino from Parma.
Vieri scored 122 goals in six seasons for the club, just six less than Altobelli, but his exit hasn’t surprised the former Azzurri ace.
"A love-hate relationship had developed over the past few years and it was clear that it would end like this," added the 1982 World Cup winner. "He was also contested by some fans."
The Coppa Italia holders have undoubtedly lost a good player but Altobelli still sees life after Vieri.
"Inter won’t have a problem in attack without Christian," he added. "Boss Roberto Mancini still has Obafemi Martins, Alvaro Recoba, Julio Cruz and Adriano."
See?

Not sure if it is good news or bad news but the deal for selling Parma to the Ticino Holding has fallen through. Now the sale of Gila looks inevitable.
As for Vieri, www.tgcom.it/sport speculates that he most probably is going to Juve and this will enable them sell Trazeguet for 35 mil euros to Chelski, which could improve our chances of keeping Crespo.
There is also a possibility, although a remote one, he would sign for Milan but if this does happen, he would take Crespo's place in Milan and this in no way jeopardizes Gila's transfer to Milan.
I personally prefer Milan getting Gila and keeping Crespo but if Chelski are so keen on keeping him, Vieri coming to Milan won't be the end of the world for me.

It is here:
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul1d.html
and here is that part of the article - "Vieri will therefore be free to join any club he wishes, despite initial thoughts that the Nerazzurri would ask him to not sign for a title rival such as Milan and Juventus." - looks like pure guessing, although it does make sense for Inter do something like that.
Anyway, by leaving Inter Vieri makes a financial sacrifice for they are giving him about, and even less than, half of what they owe him on the remainder of his contract. Not sure if he would agree to sacrifice a possible transfer to a big Italian club too.

Milan have made a bid. It is 7 million short of Parma's asking price but I am sure negotiations will continue.

Something that our friend from Malta alluded to already :1ole:
from channel4 italia:
The apparent failure of Parma’s takeover bid could have jump-started Alberto Gilardino’s long-awaited move to Milan.
It was believed that the new owners – Swiss Internet company Ticino Holding – would aim to keep hold of their star striker in order to build a new winning era.
However, the proposed takeover did not go through on Friday and the club is plunged back into uncertainty.
“I have said from the start that if I take charge of the club then none of our stars will leave,” said potential new owner Gaetano Valenza.
“That includes Gilardino. However, the current set-up has already loaned Sebastien Frey out to Fiorentina without telling me. If they want to sell Gilardino, then the consequences will be on their heads.”
The need for ready cash could therefore push them into accepting the Rossoneri’s offer for Gilardino, even if it falls below the £25m price-tag.
Other reports in the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio have also suggested that Chelsea have dived back in with a £34.5m bid, but the player has made it perfectly clear he wants to join the San Siro outfit.
“There is no news yet, but everything revolves around the takeover bid,” explained Gilardino’s agent Ciccio Romano.
New claims in Italy state that the key to completing this switch is to hand Pippo Inzaghi over to Parma. It would be a return to the Stadio Tardini for the striker, who has already played for the team in 1995-96, scoring two goals in 15 appearances.
whoa?
the new owner wont sell anybody if he takes control of Parma?

We still continue to rate Milan as our first choice, and as far as we are concerned, Milan also continue to have Gilardino as their main target. I honestly don't see any connection between these two transfers - it is not that if we get Gila we will get rid of Crespo, or that we want Crespo only because Gila's transfer is still an uncertainty. Crespo's staying in Milan is only a question of whether Chelsea back down or go against the player's will and if Crespo does stay with us that doesn't mean that we will let Gila go. If we end up not getting Gila I believe it would be only because he cost too much and would have nothing to do with Crespo's possible stay with us for at least another year.

Although I agree with what you say, I would say that if Milan fails to land Gila they would make an effort to retain Crespo (because at this point I didnt see Milan making a valid push for him).
Funny thing is that I see Crespo's situation being worked out before Gila switches clubs.

true but when Chelsea want to retain a player they actually own, Milan can't do much about that, can they? Gila is seen as Milan's future as for Crespo he is a great option to have upfront but for one more season, two max, and then he would be out of the picture.

That's not entirely true - Milan and Chelsea have already agreed on the terms of a new Crespo deal but these terms would be enforced ONLY if Chelsea do end up freeing him to stay with Milan. In reality there is nothing to agree on with Chelsea - it is not that they are asking for more than Milan is willing to give them - no, the terms of a potential deal have already been agreed, the problem is that Chelsea are having a hell of a time finding another striker (latest news is Chelsea's latest offer for Trezeguet has been accepted by Juve) and for that matter they are very unwilling to let Crespo stay with Milan for another year. In Crespo's case the problem is not lack of agreement between the clubs but availability of the striker and Chelsea's strong intentions to keep a rejuvenated player they already own.
I personally hope Milan will conclude Gila's transfer early next week before Juve or CHelsea have made things worse and provided that Chelski do get Trez from Juve, they will be more willing to let Crespo stay where his heart is.
As for Juve, they already have Del Piero, Zlatan, Zalayeta, and Mutu, not to mention the returning Miccoli. With the cash coming from Trez and the sale of Juve's office in Torino for 15 mil euros, they will have close to 70 mil euros to get Cassano from Roma too, so I wouldn't worry too much about they getting in "fight" with Milan over Gila.

Chelsea isnt having problems finding another striker. Its not like Crespo will stay there if they dont get another reliable striker, since they are better options on the market with a much brighter future than Crespo.
Basically Milan wants Crespo to convince Chelsea about his future, blah, blah...even Crespo said while here he was dissapointed about this and that it may cause him to leave Milan.
For Chelsea, its not like it is Gilardino or bust. They can have Torres, Cassano, Owen, or almost any other striker given their resources.

For Chelsea, its not like it is Gilardino or bust. They can have Torres, Cassano, Owen, or almost any other striker given their resources.
Chelsea had their bids for Torres, Trez (at least their first bid for him), Owen, Sheva, Eto'o all rejected - you see there is a limited number of strikers they want in their squad, it is not just about finding ANY striker but CERTAIN people, who they want/need and all their bids for these certain people have hit a rocky bottom so far. Another striker they have been interested in is Gila and for him they are offering Parma close to 10 mil euros OVER Parma's asking price - the problem here for Chelski is spelled "Milan" - 1) They might not be willing to enter an open bidding, there-are-no-rules war with Milan and 2) Gila wants Milan and not Chelski.
As for Cassano, they have never been repported to be interested in him and giving his disciplinary problems, I am not even a little bit surprised - the last player a coach like Mourinho would be willing to deal with is the ugly primadona from Bari. I am not saying that they can't afford Cassano, I am saying that they don't want him in their squad, as Moratti said - "Cassano would create much more problems than he would actually be able to solve."
And nobody is saying that Chelsea sees Crespo as a player for the future - all they need him for is just one more season until they finally buy a striker they want. If they get their striker of preference this summer, Crespo may very well be given green light to leave for Milan, however, if they keep getting their bids rejected by other clubs, Crespo is the perfect one-season solution for them - why pay more money for some second rate striker, if they already own a first-rate, wonderful, and rejuvenated striker in Crespo.
Now the latest rumours are that Juve have agreed to sell Trezeguet to Chelsea after the Londoners improved their first bid from 35 mil euros to 58 mil euros - at least these were the amounts reported - but Trez was their 4th or 5th choice for a striker after Sheva, Eto'o, Torres, Owen, and Gila, so yeah, even Chelsea may have problems getting the striker(s) they want.
If Juve accept that offer, I really worry that they will go for Gilardino.

from SkySports:
Chelsea and Internazionale have reportedly joined the hunt for Parma's in-demand striker Alberto Gilardino.
Milan are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old Italy international and are set to hold talks with Parma regarding his services on Monday.
Inter are keen to bolster their ranks following Christian Vieri's departure and provide superstar Adriano with a world class striking partner.
The Giuseppe Meazza side are believed to be preparing a €22 million bid that includes Giovanni Pasquale, Julio Cruz and Domenico Morfeo, who spent last season with Parma.
The Blues are also in the market for a new striker with Mikael Forssell leaving for Birmingham, Mateja Kezman moving to Atletico Madrid and Hernan Crespo's future uncertain following a year on loan with Milan.
Milan are aware of Chelsea's interest in Gilardino, but the Stamford Bridge outfit have reportedly other irons in the fire and have yet to decide who they will plump for.
"Chelsea, evidently, have other options and will decide what they want to do," explained Milan president Adriano Galliani to the Mirror.
"Chelsea are looking for a striker but haven't found one yet, we'll see what happens."
Meanwhile, Chelsea have handed a trial to Italian teenage defender Raffaele Schiavi.
The 19-year-old, who is also interesting Lazio, has been handed a two-week trial at Stamford Bridge.
"Chelsea is a great opportunity. The football in England is spectacular," explained Schiavi.

I have a feeling the deal will be done tomorrow. If we do not sign Gila this week then I will start to worry a bit.
But if Gila goes for Inter then god help him.
Adriano cannot play second striker. It wont work.
But if Gila goes for Inter then god help him.
It wont happens NEVER, Gila never go to the Perdenti Team

How true that article is i don't know, probably about 5% true. But it's just so funny how they could think by giving us Crespo we'd stop trying to get Gilardino, where's the logic in that ?? I hope it makes all of you laugh as it did i :D
On a side note, i wonder whether we could try a sneaky loan bid for either Maresca or Miccoli ? I know the chances are very slim, but it doesn't look like either want to play for Juventus, at least Miccoli doesn't. Yes Miccoli is a bit of a firebrand, but he could be calmed i'm sure. You never know until you try, so it could be worth a shout.

1) parma have met with Galliani but there is no agreement yet (something we knew).
2) Inter have also approached the club but no agreement there.
3) The new owners of Parma would be keen to keep Gila but the present set up wants to sell Gilardino for money
4) Gila can be a player anywhere next season, and Chelsea cannot be ruled out, especially after the poor for of Drogba.
So guys, not stuff we did not know. Methinks this is just a tactic to drive the price up, but Milan must tie up this deal ASAP. :lazy:

Goal.com has reported Inter's interests in Gila...The situation is becoming rather complicated now..
http://www.goal.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=71182&idSez=16
Just heard on radio that Real Madrid has bought Cassano for 25 miliion euros (unconfirmed). Thus, Gilardino should be priced similarly although Galliani it seems doesn't seem to want to spend any amount at the moment.
Forza Milan
IF juve sell trezeguet to chelsea for 55mil euro's then they will o for gila and be in pole position, and i think juve already has some kind of agreement with parma but they lack some money. Our advantage is that gila wants milan and he will not go to chelsea. So only juve and milan are in, and it looks like they never mix each other's plans so gila will be here soon if galliani just makes some sense in silvio. It would be disaster to loose gila over few milions and let him play for juve.... When Gila comes to Milan we have to celebrate few days....

http://www.goal.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=71182&idSez=16
I already say as much in the thread above. No need to panic guys. Inter are in the race but really I don't think Gila will end up there. It is just not in the cards of you ask me.
We shuld tie up the deal this week though...reportedly Juve are linked with Crespo (from channel 4):
Milan’s hopes of keeping Hernan Crespo could be dashed with Chelsea ready to offer the player to Juventus.
The Rossoneri are keen to hold on to the Argentine after a successful 12 month loan stay at the San Siro.
But whispers in the peninsula on Monday are suggesting that Crespo could end up at Italian champions Juventus instead.
Chelsea, the club who still own the South American, are prepared to include the forward in a player plus cash deal for David Trezeguet.
The London club are desperately seeking a new striker and have reportedly made the Frenchman their new priority.
Juventus may consider accepting the proposal given that they would not only net some much needed funds but also a proven striker to replace Trezeguet.
Crespo, who is keen to stay in the country after recently marrying an Italian, has already had substantial success in Italy during spells at Parma, Lazio, Inter and Milan.
Should Crespo join Juventus, or not return to Milan, then the Rossoneri will make an attempt to sign Christian Vieri.
The latter left Inter on Friday after terminating his contract a year early and is available on a free transfer.
Vieri is said to be in favour of an Italian stay in order to remain in the mind of Italy boss Marcello Lippi ahead of the World Cup Finals.

Guys more news from tgcom.it.
http://www.tgcom.it/sport/articoli/articolo264719.shtml
For those of us who do not know Italian...this article basically says that with Crespo's situation increasingly murky, Milan are preparing to bring Christian Vieri and Alberto Gilardino in the mix.
The latter remains the prime objective and the deal must be struck before a Parma takeover.
Vieri would be offered a two year contract and will meet with Berlusconi soon.

Actually, from what I understood, the meating between Berlusconi and Vieri already took place on Sunday. Berlusconi can be very, very convincing ... :)
I would have loved Milan to keep Crespo and get Gila, but if we can't keep the argentinian, then Vieri is a great choice, IMO, to substitute him.

Finally, (and maybe its just the Monday morning blues) I am getting a little :moan: depressed about this situation now...
That Inter is now in the picture, makes it an even more sticky situation, and I REALLY hope Galliani and Berlu DO NOT SIGN VIERI...that would be such a waste, and to let Gila go to Inter, would be almost criminal, and extremely short sighted...
What I now think is that Milan will have to get really serious with regard to these negotiations, as the "player power" situation may just result in Gila going to Inter, to rejoin Adriano...and the player gets what he wants:
1. To stay in Italy and as such, under Lippi´s nose
2. To play for a "big" club....
Please Galliani, and even more importantly, Mr Berlusconi...please ensure that you net Gila...I would hate to see him scoring goals for Inter...worst of all, in a derby...

If Gila goes to Inter all he would get is #1 - true, he is a young player but in Italy even children know Inter is a poor excuse for a big club. Well, along with #1, by joining Inter, Gila would get one other thing, as well - a premature end to his career. I doubt he is that stupid though. In Italy there is only one other team apart from Milan that could offer Gila a shot at success - Juve. Fortunately, Milan and Juve avoid interfering with each other's business but one never knows for sure.

the only time i can think juve and milan both wanted a player was the lentini saga 13 years ago.
rememeber what happened?
we entered a bidding war and luckily for us torino accepted our bid of £13M whilst agnelli decided not to bid more than the £12M that was put forward by them.
least to say that agnelli went out and spalshed the £12M on luca vialli...
juve don`t give a monkeys about us, there number one priority is themselves and if that means stealing gila from us because they got rid of trez, well it wouldn`t surprise me!!

Not interfering in some other team's business has nothing to do with "giving a monkey's ass" about them - I am far away from believing that Moggi and Co care about Galliani and Co, or the other way around. Starting one bidding war, however, will lead to a retaliation and so on and so on, and in the end, both teams will be losers for they will artificially drive prices up and will end up paying crazy money for players who just aren't worth that much - something like what Chelsea has been doing for a couple of years now. Having an agreement with another major "market player" has nothing to do with caring about them but caring about the present and future of your own establishment.
Of course, no one can say that Juve will not enter the race for Gila with a serious offer, but I find this highly unlikely. Inter are a different story though but still, is Gila crazy and dumb enough to go to them? I doubt it.

Well lets see what happens, shall we? Somehow, the fact that Galliani has been quoted by numerous sites as saying that he has given Parma the "go ahead" to negotiate with other clubs is quite ominous indeed.
This saga has been drawn out for waaaay too long, and as bad as Parma are for asking that huge amount, in the Chelski inflated transfer market, it is quite understandable.
Milan, with all the doubt surrounding the Crespo deal, and the fact that our forward department is looking quite "long in the tooth", should go ahead and meet Parma´s demands, as if they (Parma) decide to allow Gila to go to Inter (hey, Gila might decide that 60,000 pounds a week is cool with him, even if he has to wear a loser jersey) and he chooses to go, we are fcuked. Royally.
I will strive to remain optimistic, and though I think there is a gentleman´s agreement between Juve and Milan, there is no such thing in place between us and Loser FC, aka Inter.
They will gloat that not only did they (questionably :rollani: )have a "better" season than us, but they snatched our main transfer target as well...that would be a major coup for them...
I wonder how much of an impact the Gerrard saga is having on the Gila issue insofar as Milan is concerned? :d33:

i dont want to see gerrard in milan, maybe only in the place of gattuso in a 3-4-1-2 formation.. or even a 4-4-2..
but anyway, as ive always said from day 1, my guess is Gila is going to Juve, and this is taking too long because Juve are getting cash.. they have sold their premises for a 10+ million (i think 13m euro), and are working on selling their players...i honestly think they are getting funds to get Gila.. and possibly also send Trez to Chelsea (which i think is very unlikely) which will also allow Crespo to remain.. we really need to try to keep Crespo, so much for the *ALLIANCE* between Milan and Chelsea.. all our transfer problems are because of them, they wont give us Crespo, and they wont back off in the Gila case.. fking english ppl

I can see where your fears are coming from, but I think we will get Gila.
We wont get him. I dont want him. If he goes to INTER.... GOOD! We dont need career dumba$$es in our club. Let him learn the hard way! I dont know why some of you are sooooo surprised at the news that he might decide to go to INTER????
Maybe the reality check needs to be done here with some of us.

Ok here is the latest on the Gila saga. I read this on gazzetta and tgcom.it.
Apparently, Berlusconi is willing to give 20 million pounds for the transfer. Milan would then have to finance the rest. Milan want to pay 25 million pounds in total while Parma are demanding closer to 27.
One way they could do that is by using the funds from the Dhorasoo move, belived to be 2 million pounds.
As for our loser blue-and-black cousins...they apparently have stepped up the chase but neither side want a bidding war.
The rumour is that Moratti wants Milan to cool off on Vieri and then they will cool off on Gila.
Guys, don't lose hope. If Berlusconi is putting money up and Braida, Galliani, Ancelotti and the berlu himself are having meetings (which they are) then they must be intent on landing the striker.
At the same time we must be practical. We have to keep our books balanced. Parma cannot hold us hostage over this. I understand they are struggling to stay financially solvent and they are right to find the best price.
I just hope for the kid's future he does not end up at Inter...
dude he hasn't once said he will go to Inter. Inter are intent on starting a bidding war with us.
I honestly dont care where he goes to. I'm content if he does not end up in our camp. What is irritating is that some of us really think he's coming bottom line. All I'm saying is "Good Luck".
The very start of this thread was that he was a Milanista. Wrong.
Then that we had a sealed deal. Wrong again.
I have seen nothing. Nada one bit of anyone really knowing what the heck is going on. It is one thing to speculate... and another by just shooting bvtt darts. I think most are shooting bvtt darts.

Actually I am happy. What I dont like is the unsubstiated rumours going around as if he is ours. Let us not be surprised if he doesnt sign with us. That is what I'm trying to say. It would be more a loss to him than a loss for us.
Milan singed Vieri but I think that Gila will be also a Milan player!

Lighten up guys, as mad as I am about the whole Vieri thing, and the protracted nature of the Gila transfer, there are really more significant things such as world hunger and poverty that we deserve to be mad about. :1ang:
With Ferrari wanting to leave Roma, why don't Milan buy him and loan him to Parma as part of the Gilardino deal ?
I don't think he would be that expensive, plus if he doesn't return to his better days then we could always sell him on again.

Monday there has been a sort of summit between Galliani, Braida with Silvio Berlusconi and Carlo Ancelotti in telephone connection, to decide the to do.
It is easy that Tuesday Gila's agent Beppe Bonetto, who however pushes to close before possible the deal, comes convened for a new meeting again. Up to now it seems Silvio Berlusconi is ready to give 20 millions of euro: the remainder (to arrive an utmost of 27 millions) should arrive from other transfers. The first 3 millions arrived with the transfer of Dhorasoo to the Paris Saint Germain. It lacks 4 m., a rather reasonable figure easy to find imho with still a pair of moved of market.
So, where is the problem? :5schal:

Interesting info Gino. Source?

I will now attempt to set out my views on this saga, clearly and concisely...
:5horse:
First the facts (as I understand them):
From before the end of last season, Milan signs a pre-transfer agreement with Gilardino.
Fast forward to the season´s disappointing end:
The club, pleasantly surprised with new loanee Hernan Crespo, is trying to prise him away from Chelsea, who are disappointed with their current striker situation, and think Crespo will be a short term soloution to their problem.
Meanwhile negotiations with Parma hit a stumbling block, as Milan are loath to match Parma´s valuation of the player.
As the days turn into weeks, on the other side of the city of Milan, Vieri is allowed to leave Inter, while the Crespo deal stagnates, as Kaladze stays with Milan, as Chleski (in a weird frugal turn) think Milan´s valuation of the player is too high.
Veiri is announced by Milan as their latest aquisition, following the club´s recent trend in signing free agents.
Now for my inferences:
Crespo will remain in London, unless Chelsea use him as a makeweight in their pursuit of Trezeguet....fortunately for the Argentine, he will at least be in the same country his wife is from...unfortunately though, he is not going to the team of his choice..but in a WCup pre season, a starting place beats the bench everytime...somehow though, my gut instinct tells me that the transfer wont happen this way...and as mercenary as Crespo is, I dont see him relishing working under Don Capello...so, in a nut shell...he will remain in London...and Chelsea, after announcing the signing of Gerrard from Liverpool, will declare their transfer season closed..
Vieri, already a Milan player, will form an excellent partnership with Pipo in our pursuit of the Italian Cup..where his excellent performances will put pressure on.....wait for it....
Gilardino, who, surprise surprise, makes it to Milan, after protracted, heated, and near violent discussions with Parma´s new owners, and the player...while Milan suits sat, waiting on the pre-ordained outcome...that the player would leave for the club of his choice...
Further on in the news...."Man steals marked police car, and drives it across town to court"...more on this and other stories, after the break...
(An actual headline from today´s Jamaica Observer Newspaper...only in Jamaica!!!)

Actually, this is not a bad idea at all. He does seem to be destined for Everton though, at least these are the latest news I read on him. Price mentioned was ~5mil euros.
Adriano Galliani also spoke on Corriere della Sera: ’ I was like Maspes in surplace, waiting for news from London. When it was clear that Crespo was lost and I saw Gaiardoni start from the distance, I decided to move in adavance. Now with Vieri we have completed the front package. Gilardino? Since Parma continue to ask 30 million euro, we don't sign him at that price. And the more time passes, the more things become difficult.'
So Gilardino is over, he goes to Inter or Juventus...

No, not over at all.
I think Galliani made such statement to built more pressure on Parma to accept Milan's offer.
Milan knows that there are no serious Italian contesters for Gilardino till now, and are keeping their eyes wide open.
Only Chelsea are ready to pay that sum, but Milan knows that Gilardino will refuse to go abroad.
And after all the difference of only 5mlns euros is very small in relation of the whole sum to blast off the deal.

Alberto Gilardino has talked to the press today after returning from Mexico (this is my translation from Italian to English; the original story can be found in la gazzetta and tgcom).
The player has stated that he wants a move to Milan and his will can be a determining factor.
He also said that he has had a great relationship with Parma and he wants to keep it that way.
