View Full Version : Sheva leaving Milan: destination Chelsea

Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi has sensationally let slip that Andriy Shevchenko wants to join Chelsea.
Berlusconi made the shock admission to a child fan this morning, thus confirming whispers that the London club are lining up a bid for the Ukrainian.
A number of fans approached the former Prime Minister this morning as he prepared to enter the Palazzo Chigi building.
Amongst them was a boy who asked Berlusconi to send his regards to the former European Footballer of the Year.
That led to a quite remarkable response as Berlusconi said: “Do you know that Shevchenko wants to leave? He wants to go to England.”
Shevchenko has been continually associated with a move to Chelsea ever since the London club became the most powerful outfit on the transfer market.
Those suggestions had previously been dismissed, but recent whispers claimed that the move could actually occur.
Shevchenko met with Berlusconi on Sunday night in which it was alleged that the pair discussed his future.
Today’s developments seem to mirror that stance even if it is unclear at this stage whether Milan are ready to do business.
Any proposed deal with Chelsea could include both William Gallas and Hernan Crespo moving in the other direction.
There have also been claims that Milan could use any cash they receive from the Premiership side to net Arsenal’s Thierry Henry.

Berlusconi Reveals Shevchenko's Chelsea Desire
“Shevchenko wants to go England ,” Berlusconi revealed to some young kids who asked him to say hi to the Ukraine super-striker.
It has been almost a year now that rumours have been linking Shevchenko to Chelsea , owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abrahmovic.
With Shevchenko now almost certainly a Chelsea player, AC Milan will probably concentrate all their efforts on signing Arsenal king Thierry Henry.
Expect more on this developing story in the next days here on Goal.com

And Mourinho & Abramovich desperatly want him and the latter will make everything to have Sheva. This was clear when they were here in Brazil.
But let's wait. Everything is confused right now...
source please... a young kid is the source huh??? God the media must be desperate. I dont know why??? So much cr@p already in the news.

Such a funny rumor and how the press is twisting all the words.
Most likely the little kid said he is a chelsea fan and would like to see the Blues get SHeva and asked Berlu will his hero Sheva ever play for his fav. team, Cheslea and Berlu just said yes

There is more to this than just that...its becoming more and more clear why Sheva went to visit Berlu post the last game.

No no, the news is true, i've heard Berlusconi's words with my bare ears.
He wasn't jking, he looked a bit sad.
Sadly the news are 100%
A lady told him "....best regards to Sheva as well" and he replied " well, Sheva wants to go, he wants to go to England "
It would be very sad to see Sheva go, but if that's really what he wants, I would wish him well. And if Chelsea gave us Gallas and enough money to buy Henry and maybe another player or two, I would not complain too much.

the blatant silence from acmilan.com is not a good sign. i hope i'm mistaking, but frankly after listening directly from the president sheva wants to leave with an expression of sadness (whil silvio is always smiling and optimist) set his farewell as almost sure

there is nothing on acmilan.com, wtf. all this time sheva had been lying to us. he lied to us about his berlu visit. His conscience will bother him for the rest of his life. All those promises and blha blah.
Its all over!
Sheva is preparing all the Milan folk for the worst.
Sheva has had his press conference and stated that he has informed Berlusconi of his eventual departure from AC Milan.....due to family problems (his wife lives in England and if he doesnt go as well, then there marriage is in deep crap)
He has no problems with Milan, but personal family issues........
Thanks for the memories and I cant wait for Milan to whip your and Chelsea's arse in the future.

This is the sickest day of my life. not sure how much sheva's wife wud be cursed for this career threatening move. family is just a reason, why can't his wife move to milan huh? its all about that abramovic, I juat can't wait for a milan chelsea match. a gr8 liar, I will respect him for what he has done but his leaving us this abruptly will make me go against him. now everybody will laugh at us for his departure.
The day he leaves will be one of the worst in the teams history. It is more than his goals and his on pitch play that will need replacing :(

I can't believe this, I really hope his love for Milan is too strong for this to happen. I thought he wanted to be another Baresi, Maldini or Van Basten in this club...
Anyway, no player is bigger than the club itself. If he leaves, let's forget him and replace him with 2 out of these 3: Henry, Eto'o and Torres. If we replace him with Crespo we're doomed and can give up on next season already.
Come on, forza Milan!

Honestly not to seem opportunistic...but Sheva is 30...he has played 7 yrs with us. If Chelsea want to pay that much for him we can use that to get another striker and reinforcements in defence.
Grazie Sheva for all the memories.

"what a lame reason that he wants to move to his family. In a way his wife is telling that milan suks and london rocks. what abt us fans? who the f#k thinks abt us? for the happiness of 1 bloody person he has walked over millions of milans fans."
You cannot get it, can you. That 1 person, who happens to be the mother of his only child and children-to-be, means more to him than we the fans.
As simple as that. She may be not a good person after all, but I do not know her. Much money spoils even good people.

it was the same when Weah was leaving but see we got another gem in Sheva. And then again someone else will take his place and lead Milan to victories and trophies. It's always like that, problem is that with time you get attached to players like that and it's hard to see them leave thinking that there never will be someone like him again. But life goes on and Sheva's sub could be just around the corner - Dirk kuijt maybe, or why not Gila with the confidence boost of getting used to Milan.

ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO DECLARATIONS
12/05/2006 19:25:20
MILANELLO - Andriy Shevchenko had this to say at the press conference Milanello:
'It's useless to hide the facts. I was with the president and I we spoke about a lot of things. We also spoke about the possibility of changing teams. This is not a decision, we were only talking. I want to be clear, it does not regard my relationship with Milan. There is great affection for the club, the coach and my team-mates. The decision regards my family. I want to say to the fans that they have always been important for me. It is not even for the economic aspect, is absurd for me, it's almost hard work to speak about it. I have been at Milan for seven years, I have to decide well. I am not under pressure to make a decision, I am just talking in these days. There will be another press conference to clear everything up. I ask that rumours don't go around that don't exist, not to twist the facts, there are no problems with the club, the coach and team-mates, there never has been.'

I think that Sheva is 90% already out of San Siro, Sheva is a good man who doesn't like to lie and if he said that there is a option that he may leave that means he is leaving is just he could not say that at this point of the time. I love Sheva, he is a great player who gave a lot to Milan I hope he stays but at the other hand he is 30 and Milan could get good money for him. If Milan sell Sheva for money shame on Berlusconi for that because money should not be a problem for a club like Milan.
If he wants to go, he can F*** off away to Chelsea. Come on, after bringing all his family to Italy and saying that Italy is his 2nd country now he wants to go?!!

who knows, maybe after saying he wants to leave, he will decide to change. Whatever happens, just for what he said, he has lost alot of respect from all the milan fans around the world. I was convinced he would be a great captain and a milan legend, unfortunately I was wrong. Thank you Mr Andriy Shevchenko aka "wannabe maldini" for screwing everybody's day .......or night.
On Gazzetta dello Sport, today 12/5/2006

To replace Sheva we need a proven player. I dont know why, but I want Cassano. Cassano would come cheap, and with Cassano we can get Adriano/Henry but I doubt that will happen. If we cant find anyone to replace Sheva this year, I would be so happy if we get Tavano as I think he can do it. Kuijt is good but I dont know if he will manage to play in Serie A. Ronaldinho is ofcourse the best choice from Warro's list, but it is highly unlikely. Considering Sheva leaving, I think we should change formation, and maybe play with the x-mas tree formation, and bringing in Totti :)
Who knows what'll happen, im just speculating. I just hope for everyone's sake he stays. Milan should get a young talent like Sergio Aguero, Kerlon, Tevez for this year to be used as a sub and learn from the rest of the team, and then can get a starting spot for the following year..
Another thing, I dont want to see Sheva going to Chelsea with us getting nothing in return. And no, we dont need Crespo who is even older than Sheva. They should give us something like 40m cash, and allow us to deal with Gallas, AND include Robben in the deal. That's the only way we should let our once symbol leave.

Ronaldo? - He is too fat to play :haha: he only wants some sleazy sex...and money
Ronaldinho? - ofcourse will be a great addition but freaggin expensive too loyal unlike our "wannabe maldini"
Tevez? - we have to snatch him before the dirty blues make their move
Henry? - he is the most suited guy for milan after "wannabe maldini"
Riquelme? - money again, but he gets injured too often.
Etoo? - attitude problem, will get harrowed by inter for racism.
Adriano - he too wants girls
Torres - a good experiment but not sure if its worth it
Kuijt? - get him asap
Drogba? - he has the blues syndrome, shud go back to france for repairs
Rooney? - attitude, and again eng players don't rock in italy
Raul - he is freaggin awesome but won't be sold coz he likes RM unlike our "wannabe maldini"
Toni - not sure but is a good prospect.

true, he often looks like a father among children. in fact he would make a good captain IMO ... still remember the year of the last scudetto when he asked Sheva to put his arm down from his face in that game vs Roma, I think. Sheva didn't listened to him and he almsot caused a PK vs us, one very similar to a PK Collina had given vs Milan 1-2 games before that.

If he'll go to the big Island, I will never forgive him...
The san siro has had gods walk on it's turf. And Milan fans have dutifully respected them in their own ways. Sheva is no exception - for 7 years we have honoured him at the Milan altar and, even though it sad to see a hero leave, we must accept it as a part of football life. Ultimately, this is not a bad thing at all.
1) He is no spring chicken. He is 29 years old.
2) He will free up a large amount of money in terms of salary.
3) He will bring in a huge truckload of cash to the club since he is still under contract.
4) It will open up doors for other big name strikers to make their way to Milan knowing they will not be regarded as a second tier striker behind Sheva.
5) It will give us an oppurtunity to bring Crespo back to Milan.
6) Milan are finally doing a Juventus - selling off a top player close to the end of their lifecycle as opposed to at the end of their lifecycle.
So Shevchecko, thank you for your goals, the titles, and the gems that will last a long long time in our hearts. For me it was your goal against Real Madrid, and the penalty strike against Juventus in the CL final that will always be with me. You will never be a Maldini, Baresi, Ancelotti, Tassoti or a Van Basten to Milan fans because you're not retiring at our club, but you will be remembered fondly. Good luck!
Now, Even Dario Simic have more of respect of the Milan fans.

Drogba? (God forbid)

Raul? (Had to add him for arguments sake:D)
Toni?
The man is Henry, Warro. Since last week is really clear that Sheva is going to leave us. Fernando Torres is going to replace Henry and Aguero probably will play for Atlético Madrid next season.
Abramoviched tabled a US$ 32 mill bid for Tevez and he'll join Chelsea next season as well.
As I wrote previously, if we get Buffon, Gallas, Sneijder and Henry in return I really think Milan will be a much better team for the next seasons. Gallas made a statement today that he wants to leave Chelsea.
For the right offer, Henry and Sneijder can join Milan and Buffon will be a bit more complicate, like Nesta and Gila, but not impossible to get him.
What is intriguing me is Drogba's situation. Really can't imagine how Tevez, Sheva and Drogba can coexist in the same team.

abramovic - a greedy ***, doesn't know what happens when you have excessive amount of good players. CHELSEA IS GONNA GO DOWN!!! fu CHELSEA
Ronaldo: Fat Chance :D
Ronaldinho: wont be sold
Tevez: not sure, not really a striker, more of a support striker
Henry: was hoping he can be paired up with sheva than replace him
Riquelme: midfielder, not a striker
Etoo: defintatly dont mind, but barca wont sell, or atleast wont sell cheap
Adriano: YES!!! but like henry i would have rather had him next to sheva
Torres: closest thing to sheva, big gamble though
Kuijt: possibly
Drogba: god forbid
Rooney: no thanks, besides man u wont sell
Raul: no thanks!
Toni: maybe, but too similar to pippo and gila and very different from sheva
extra:
tavanno: yes but not as his replacement, just a new striker instead of amoroso
crespo: no thanks

One thing I can say with utmost sureity...well, not that I have any PROOF..but Zlat and Kui..please leave this alone :D...is that Berlu will spend some big money, and I mean HUGE money, to replace Sheva...
Its like a kid whose favourite toy was stolen, then broken by the local bully...he cries to Dad..and Dad goes out and buys him an even better toy.
Now, this begs the question, and one on which I much rather spend my time thinking of, as to who we will buy to replace him...and lets concentrate on high profile attacking players...start another thread if we like! :D
Ronaldo?
Ronaldinho?...(my favourite)
Tevez?
Henry?
Riquelme?
Etoo?
Adriano?
Torres?
Kuijt? (Zlats favourite :D)
Drogba? (God forbid)
Rooney?
Raul? (Had to add him for arguments sake:D)
Toni?
And the list goes on..yaehyaa just like my love...everlasting...and the list goes on...(remember that song? :D )
Warren, are you picking on me, ha? :diablo: :guw:
I will be more than content with Henry, Kuijt, and Cassano - he'd be cheap and if he shows his bad-girl attitude, we can ship him out just as easily and even make some dough out of it ... worth the risk IMO.
OK, here is my take on this:
Ronaldo? - hey Sheva may be leaving, but we aint that desperate :diablo:
Ronaldinho?...(my favourite) - Well, the fantasy novels are in the other isle ;) ...
Tevez? - unquestionable talent, very questionable consistency; He plays like no one else in a game and the next one it's like he's not even on the field. Will also cost 20mil at least. Young player who could still improve a lot but I am not sure if he's what we need - not on technical level but on commitment and consistency level. Not to mention the hot-head he is.
Henry? - not sure how he would fit Italy upon a possible return, but there is no denying the quality of the player. Would love to get him if he's available for say 15 mil euros or so. But if we'll have to outbid Real and Barca for him and end up paying like 25+ for a 29 yo player, no thanks. At the right pricem would love to see him come to Milan, especially with Sheva virtually gone.
Riquelme? - not a striker; amazing Rui-type of #10; Great, great talent and skill in this guy but I would consider him more of a replacement for Rui and not Sheva. one thing I don't like about him - ofetn drops out of games and his commitment to the team-play is questionable. Spends too much time with the ball in his feet and slows down the attack to a full stop at times ... but on the other hand, can always deliver that defence splitting pass out of nowhere. Shoudln't be excesively expensive - ~15 mil or so, should be enough to land him, especially with Villarreal missing out on CL this year.
Etoo? - very good player, not sure if he would fit in Italy but also very easily affected by racial chants (don't blame him) and that affects his game in a negative way. Will be very, very expensive too 30-35 mil easily, and will be only available if Henry goes to Barca, otherwise won't be up for sale.
Adriano? - highly unlikely. very good player, a bit too 1-dimensional for my liking but the biggest issue is getting Inter to sell him to us when there Chelski, Real M, maybe even Barca. It's one thing to get Pirlo and Seedorf from them, totally another to get their star-player.
Torres? - would be a huge failure IMO. Not a player than can survive in Serie A. Great talent but Italian defences would kill his career, I think. Not to mention he would cost 30-35 mil.
Kuijt? - Very good player, can develop into something very special, IMO. Has everything - pace, very good technique, physical presence, vision on the game and some pretty non-standard thinking; can play as a target man and also fall back in midfield to start the attack. And compared to most others from the list, won't break the bank. Feyenoord won't play in the CL next year, so they will need some cash badly.
Drogba? (God forbid) - He could be great but could be flop. really don't know. I personally would prefer getting him over Crespo as part of the Sheva deal. Great talent but seems inconsitent at Chelski. may not score tons of goals but does a lot of hard work in attack.
Rooney? - Highly unlikely transfer. Player for the future without a doubt but just don't see him leave ManU, or be let go by them, unless his game deteriorates considerably and for a long period of time. Otherwise, just don't see this transfer happening.
Raul? (Had to add him for arguments sake:D) - No thanks, past his best, too fragile ....
Toni? - a possibility, if Viola decides to sell. But he could be more of a replacement for Pippo, not Sheva. Won't cost a fortune, but won't come cheap either; plus he is like 1 year younger than Sheva, I think ... not exactly a player of the future but there's still good football in him

Good one , dude!
What I didnt like about todays revelations is that
Sheva started this before his first and only (probably) WC appearance.
he is lamost 30, his team, my Ukraine, is not gonna play that well and he knows that.
he wants the best of both worlds. He wants to sell himself before his value plummets at his last and only WC. My prediction - Sheva will score 1 goal at the WC, against the Saudis. Ukraine won't make it out of the group, I want to be wrong and I will root for our national team, but...
it is in a very poor form now, judging by the UP league.

i just wanted to add a couple of options for other strikers we could consider - players like Tavano and Suazo have attarcted a lot of attention. I personally prefer the latter but they both will cost a lot (above 10 mil easily) and there is hardly any guarantee that they would be able to replace Sheva in our team ... they are more like options for 2nd or 3rd striker but still, players that deserve a mention.

I honestly don't think that the price of players of Sheva's calibre is gonna be affected by a bad WC, for instance. Players like him and Dinho are a known quantity in football and hardly anyone questions their real worth. A couple of bad games on a WC tournament will hardly drop their market value as they've been asserting themselves for years now.
What an absolute joke ... if he can change his mind that quickly then we're better off without him. Not about the money ? Yeah right ...
If i was Berlusconi i'd be playing the guilt card straight in his face, make him feel incredibly guilty for wanting to leave after all that bull about retiring with us.
Get the most for him and Gallas aswell (no Crespo) and lets get all the players we can to make us a better club.
The only drawback is that i'm sure Henry would have wanted to play alongside Shevchenko, which looks increasingly unlikely now ... so we might not end up with him either.
What a big fat mess.

henry had said that he liked teams which are close, now that the odd man will go out in the summer I think there will be a high probability of henry joining us and as said by warro , berlu will loose his best gift and he will replace it with a much bigger gift, so in 2-3 weeks sheva will be off and henry will give his decision. I think berlu is gonna get down and spend big. neway we will get good money by the sheva sale.

Take a look at the man (http://www.acmilan.com/en/InfoPage.aspx?id=25498) for the last time.
He will always remain a bruise in milan's heart. such a sad day, how can he turn out to be so inconsiderate. Either he is really pressurised by his family or he using their name to buy his way out of the club. Match fixing, sheva's departure, nesta's revelation and no trophy. We are in a big mess. We need maldini and our old players to come out give some hope to us fans
Does anyone have a source for all this bullsh*t conerning how his wife wants to live in London?
thats not true... sheva is a better player than henry... this is no way a win situation unless we spend the money wisely
exactly.
we better get a ton of cash for sheva and obviously Gallas, around 50 mil and even at that plus our transfer kitty we're not going to be able to replace Sheva instantly. It's bad timing in my opinion, Pippo can't carry the attack, Gila may be able to but he is still settling, we're going to need pretty much instant results.
how we'll find a player able to do this I don't know. If he's over 28 what the hell is the point of even considering selling sheva? if he's around 24-25 then he might not settle instantly and who anyway?
The only replacement I can think of is adriano and I doubt Inter will sell.
Does anyone have a source for all this bullsh*t conerning how his wife wants to live in London?
This was in the Times of London the other day:
Shevchenko’s wife, the American model Kristen Pazik, is also good friends with Irina Abramovich and after enjoying a weekend’s shopping together in London before Christmas, would welcome a move to Chelsea by her husband.

If its going to happen its going to happen. at 29 we will get a better price than in a years time.
i thought i would be gutted but lets be practical if his heart is no longer there why keep him. do we seriously expect him to be the same Sheva if we force him?

lol ... quote of the year
Listen....I understand that we are all mad and sad because one of our starts...one of our symbols is leaving. Shevchenko is a good man and unlike others, he did honestly stated what he feels. I think we should appreciate that. He came out and told the truth that he is concidering leaving.
Untill now, I never thought about a Sheva departure. Now though, I'm starting to look at the positives and how we can build a great team from his sale. If he wants to go........o well. Bye Bye and I hope he does good for Chelsea(even though I hate them and I hope they don't win anything). However, I am a little mad at how he made us think that he is going to retire with us. He made us put him in our all time gods. Guess what Sheva, If you think Chelsea and the rubbish premiership is better for you.......then be our guest and make us some money.
And guys...don't say that it not a win situation. Of course it is. We should never keep a player that does not want to be here, so it is always a win situation as we get rid of someone that wants to leave and plus that we get some beautiful cash.
Think about it. Sheva to Chelsea = 35 mil + possible Gallas / Diarra = 25 mil.
We will be left with 10 million from the sale plus our own funds that we can spend which most of the time seem to be aroud 20-25 mil a year. Let's not whine about someone that wants to leave and lets try to make the most of it. In other words.........HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE HERE?, THEN LETS USE HIM!
Nefremo, you're right, but it still hurts... it's like breaking up with a girlfriend you still love, or worse...

Well, if/when Sheva leaves, I think the no.7 shirt should be given to one of the players in the primavera squad.
I am honestly pissed off. I feel betrayed, and that @sshole can fvck off for all I care. I don't want him at Milan anymore.
Football, as we all know, is the modern version of the wars that used to be fought between the rivalling kingdoms and city states of Europe. How are defectors dealt with in a war? They're shot on sight.
Now, I'm by *NO MEANS* suggesting that anyone attempts to murder Sheva (God forbid!!!!), but he deserves to be treated like a traitor (in totally non-violent ways), because that is what he is. A liar and a traitor.
I have lost all my respect for him. "Family reasons?" **** off. A football player's career lasts for about 15 years, after which the man will have made all the money he needs to live happily for the rest of his life. He will be free to live wherever he wants, and do whatever he pleases. He and his wife are going to spend the rest of their lives together, so why not stay in Milan now, at the club that has made him the player he is today - AND SHOW SOME GOD DAMN GRATITUDE AND LOYALTY?
If you ask me, he owes the entire AC Milan family so much that he's a ****ing idiot for leaving. This is, by far, the most ungrateful, despicable act I have ever experienced from a player for as long as I have been supporting Milan (and I'm celebrating my 11th year as a supporter now - that's basically half my life).
Andriy Shevchenko deserves nothing but our unbridled contempt and hatred. He is creating massive problems for the club, as we'll only have three months to find a good replacement for him. Not only has be betrayed and lied to his fans by saying that he wanted to remain at Milan for the rest of his career, but he is quite possibly destroying next season for us before it's even started.
I sincerely hope there will be anti-Sheva banners at the San Siro on Sunday. That is the least of what he deserves.

after reading what is stated on AC MIlan.com.
I believe that Sheva wants to move while also he wants to stay. Thats why he went to talk to Berlu about it. Most likely, I believe he wants to ask Berlu what is he planning to do with Milan. Like is he getting more players to be competitive or.... As for why he wants to move, why I guess it could be b.c of his family or he is a bit bored of always finishing second or he does not like the match fixing..... So I believe it is all up to Berlu to take control of this situation as if Sheva really wants to leave, he would just state that he wants to explore his option and not stating we are only talking at this point.
Easy dude... we can't loose perspective just because we're mad right now...
I have the recording of his PK against Juve to win the 2003 UCL in Italian/English in my car, listen to it at least once a day when driving to work/home... I know we can only hate someone we really loved...
We CANNOT, let me correct myself, we SHOULD NOT, forget what he has done for Milan, what he has given Milan... such is life... somethings don't end up the way one wants...
There's a TANGO song that says (translating the best I can) "If for your well-being you decided to leave, for your well-being I must forgive you"
If he leaves, and we face him, I propose something in the following post
Remember when we were an average team even in the Seria A let alone Europe. Sheva could have jumped ship then, but he stuck with us and was rewarded with success. For that we should at least be respectful.
OK, he wont cement a place in the hearts of the Milan fans, for leaving us and most of us will probably become part time United fans just to see him proven wrong. But he has given us his best years and this could be a blessing in disguise as we could benefit like Juve did with Zidane......Forget everything I just said, a picture of Galliani popped up in my head. We are doomed we will replace him with some grannie on a free transfer :1whis:
Silence Protest
The usual way to make a player feel bad is to BOO him - too unoriginal.
Others, like Inter fans, physically attack them - too little class (too Inter).
Others, like Barcelona vs. Figo, throw money at them (and *** heads) - too expensive, ha
I propose that, if he goes to Chelsea, and he visits San Siro dressed in their uniform, we do a silent protest... BOO every name when they're announced, but ABSOLUTE SILENCE when he's named... ABSOLUTE SILENCE when he touches the ball...
that would make headlines... it would be dramatic... a stronger message... like mourning a death...

Sant, I hear what you're saying, and the rational part of me is saying that Milan will go on no matter what, and that we'll be title contenders next season as well.
But even so, I am furious. I don't honestly care what he's done for us anymore. He has disgraced himself by acting like this, lying to the fans and the club and announcing that he is defecting just days before we play our highly important last game of the season.
I won't be able to watch that clip of him scoring the decisive goal in the PK-shoot out against Juve for a long time. If Sheva had announced this at the beginning of the season, it would have been different. But his timing really couldn't have been worse, and his misleading statements in the last six months just prove that he's a twat.
You are right though, we can only hate someone we really loved. This is like a really bad relationship break-up. It's like having a girlfriend that you've done everything for, and then after 7 years she just decides to leave.
But, with that analogy in mind, we should also keep in mind that most people are able to find love again - and so will we. Players come and go in football, and Milan will sign other players that we will love as much as we have loved Sheva.
Not to mention that we still have Kaká, who I rate higher than Sheva anyway, and Gilardino, who will probably show us his true abilities next season.
It's ok. If this is Sheva's choice, we should do nothing more but respect it.
I too feel betrayed to some extent. But as SANT said we can not forget everything he has done for us. Maybe not a true Milan legend like Maldini, Baresi, Savicevic etc but he's as damn close as a player can get without actually achieving legendary status in a club.
I think that this was partially influenced by the ongoing Serie A match-fixing scandal. Many of the rumors started around this time, and Sheva's announcement came when it was announced that Milan was under investigation. But that's just my opinion.
I am beginning work on a Sheva Tribute Thread. Say whatever you will say about him leaving, being a traitor. But I still think in the past 7-8 years no one has made a bigger contribution to the team, except for maybe the immortal San Paolo.

The reason why we are so pissed is because he kept chanting that he wanted to stay at the club, didn't want to join chelsea, be like maldini, baresi, billy blah blah, we appreciated it so much and he was treated like a king. ALong with that he also used ot mention that its good the Chelski rumours kept cropping up, that way milan wud give him a contract extension. lot more stuff after that
and now what the hell has he done? he said he cannot lie anymore( a slap on our faces)...he himself is telling that he was lying for more than a year. gr8 liar. is this stuff champions are made of? hell no, so its just time to make money out of him. We want to make money so that we can repair the damage he has caused to the club and the fans by this shameless revelation. he has become beckham vol. 2. Even if he stays at the club ( which i'm sure won't happen) he wud be treated miserably by our fans. He definitely won't come to san siro on sunday, the way he has brought an end to his milan term is quite horrible. Infact I will be very happy if we have farewell banners for our dear Stam.
He will get a good salary. He won't be a hit at Chelsea at least and the moment that SOB abramovic realises that Sheva won't do good anymore he will end up with a ****ty team. He owes alot to the club. If we wudn't have had his services we wud have had arranged for sum1 else. THere is no way we shud keep him. In fact just tommorow galliani and co. shud call for an auction and sell him off for the best price + players. He will be haunted for this and in the end will screw the only world cup chance Ukraine had ever qualified for.
Berlu came out casualy and revealed this thing, just imagine if he wudn't have done that. We wud have had been in the dark till the next season untill he wud spring up on ur tv holding that nasty blue jersey. godspeed sheva, coz ur just gonna go down and we won't buy you back!
There is certainly lot more than the so called "family reasons". I wud be happy if he wud come out and tell all of them.
I just cant wait for a match between milan and his future team ( chelsea). The joy of winning that game wud be lot more than beating Inter. Biggest traitors of all.
how can he even come close to being a legend, for being 1 you have sacrifice lot more than just on the pitch. when he was with us he was treated as a king by us fans and when he goes to london he will treated the same by that materialistic, blood-sucking and betraying abramovic

Honestly, something interesting that I just notice.
Over the past years, when a so call heart and soul leaves the team, that team usually does very very well the next season.
When Juve lost Zidane, they won like 3 or 4 Series A titles.
When Liverpool lost Owen, they won the CL.
When Arsenal lost Viera, they are in the CL final, b4 that they were only quater finalist at best.

Just thought of another thing, does anyone of you think that this Sheva rumor could be a diversion for Milan due to all the scandals. Thus, by talking to Sheva and telling him to state he wants to move, it will take the attention away from the scandal in Italy.

No, heck NO, it is absurd to think that that could be true.
However, I liked your way of thinking.
God, I'm gutted by all this. But we must respect the man's wishes and remember what he has given us over the years. I just hope President Silvio breaks the bank and gets this minimum in exchange: 25 mil + Gallas + Robben + sloppy BJ's for all the Milan fans courtesy of Jose the Special One and his Sugar Daddy Roman Abromobitch. :hopefull:
I forget who said it first but this inevitable transfer really gives us perspective when you look at players like Maldini :bright:    :star: :rock3:   :5ok: :pp20: :respect: :dcool: (who is THE MAN, ALWAYS AND FOREVER), Baresi, and heck, even Giussepe Bergomi. But Sheva to Chelsea, wearing that blue shirt...it's absolutely not registering in my head. :greed:
But look folks, this is the nature of football these days. At least now we can really, really, really, really, get into the transfer talk, which is our hobby here in the Milanmania forums. :musk:

I fully support that. Farewell banners for Stam, but not for Sheva. And also, Sant's suggestion should be made a reality. That would make a nice point.

Holy crap so I guess it is pretty much official then. Well then I guess the only hope is that Milan better get Henry to replace Sheva, otherwise there will be some trouble. But if Milan spend the funds wisely, they might even be a better team, depending on who can get picked up :)

Shevchenko's plea for Chelsea move
By Jason Burt
Published: 13 May 2006
Chelsea's hopes of buying Andrei Shevchenko received a significant boost yesterday when the Milan striker called a press conference to confirm that he wants to leave the Italian club. The Premiership champions will now offer €50m (£35.7m) for the 29-year-old after having three previous bids rejected.
"I want to leave," Shevchenko said. "I cannot hide my wish any longer from the fans. I have spoken to the president [Silvio Berlusconi]. No decision has been taken yet. This has nothing to do with money. It is a family issue. Once I have made a decision I will call another press conference."
The Ukrainian only signed a contract extension last year, which runs until 2009, but, as revealed by The Independent, the Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has stepped up his efforts to secure his favourite player by personally intervening in the negotiations. He telephoned Shevchenko after Milan were knocked out of the Champions' League and again when Chelsea won the League title and then travelled to Italy to see him and Berlusconi.
By then Shevchenko had agreed to leave. But first he inquired whether Milan would be willing to offer him another extension to his contract but was told they would not.
Milan will be offered Hernan Crespo but are favourites to sign William Gallas who yesterday reiterated his desire to leave Chelsea this summer. "My decision has been taken and is definitive," the 28-year-old said. "I want to leave Chelsea. I want another challenge. I've been with Chelsea for five years. I want to experience another league. The directors of Milan are interested in me and I am interested in the idea of going over there."
This really hurts a lot... I have NEVER thought of the idea that Sheva will be leaving us. Okay, he says it is not for sure, however just that he thought the idea of leaving us, hurts so much!
Please stay Sheva - if we will loose him, it will be a major blow. No one can replace him really :(
Well if he's leaving the only thing left to do is to look at the $$$ aspect of this all. What is our leverage in this deal? 50 mil Euros doesnt seem like any leverage towards our side. We could play hard ball with Chelsea and to some extent with Sheva. Gila was supposed to be the future for our club but the question is if he is ready to take the reins from Sheva? Sheva is a lot more versatile than a goal picker such as Inzaghi and Gila. Besides scoring goals Sheva is very good at setting goals up for any other team mate. A plus, plus if you ask me. Knowing this we cant expect Gila to ever be like Sheva. So what is the game plan for calcio mercato??? Sheva's departure has just thrown in the monkey wrench as our priorities this summer was for the reinforcement of our defense. NOW we'll lose that future equity to fixing that defense to find an equally effective forward. That doesnt come cheap and it is very hard to find someone as equally efective as he.
Boy I tell ya when the news is cr@ppy already, it finds a way to cr@p on you again. I cant wait to hear tomorrows news  Who knows what will happen?!
This soooooo fuking sux ,i dunno if i should cry or break sumthing!!!!!:(
If he realy has a probably problem then just go............
If his moving for the money i hope he dosent score one goal for them, never wins everything ,hope his gonna end worse then figo........i so wish his not gonna leave us:((
listen to this...Abramovic called when Milan lost to Barca, and later when Chelsea won the league....how pathetic was that!!! He wanted to show how Milan didnt won a thing and Sheva can do miracles in London. And if Chelsea get Ballack,Sheva and a RB as they want to, they will have the best squad around.
Well, im a bit dissapointed in Sheva also. Nothing is done yet,and I just hope we can get Henry if Sheva leaves us for that pathetic Russian coward idiot Abramovic.
Good lord, I can't believe some of you! We're all deeply saddened that Sheva is leaving, but all of this hateful crap is just silly. As fans, we like to live in our romanticized world, but as a footballer Sheva has to live in the real world. We need to wish him the best and cherish all the wonderful memories that he has left us. If we think of him as some sort of traitor just because he is changing jobs, how can we possibly enjoy those memories? Milan football went on when van Basten could no longer play and it will go on without Sheva. The club is much bigger than any one player.
Let me ask you this question: how many of you who are married actually love AC Milan more than you love your wife or your husband? If you can honestly say that you do, then you have some serious problems. Sheva has a wife and is beginning a family and if they believe that the family will be better off in London or Timbuktu or Bumfrick Egypt that's their decision to make and we should all have the decency to respect that, even if we don't like it. How many of you would not change jobs to make your family life better or to be in a place that makes your spouse happy? And even if this were all about money -- which I doubt because Berlusconi has deep enough pockets to satisfy Sheva financially and because Sheva would not know what sort of wages Chelsea were willing to pay until he negotiated with them -- but even if this were about money, how many of you would turn down a big raise for a similar job to remain in the one you have now? So unless you love AC Milan more than you love your wife or your mother and unless you would not change jobs for more money, you have no room to talk!
Now please, people, don't put a bad taste in your own mouth over this. Turning on Sheva and hating him is not causing him to suffer the least little bit. You're only causing yourselves to suffer. So lighten up a bit and enjoy the memories and the fact that they were created by one of the best strikers ever who wore the red & black with pride and passion for seven wonderful years. Praise Sheva. Don't bury him.
Here! Here! Rick. Well done son... well done.
I had posted this in another thread. I might as well post it in here as well.
I wont swear at Chelsea or Sheva over this. We've known for a long time their desire for him and Sheva was somewhat candid at expressing his desire to play in Englans and to save his marriage. Please my fellow Rossoneri let this not spoil your Summer. Whatever the conclusion to this chapter, let us be willing to turn the page. Afterall... Milan is a great storybook. We cant be fixated on being at one chapter of a wonderful book as ours. Turn the page and let the drama unfold before us. There may be sad episodes but we've had them in earlier chapters of this great story. I cant tell you what the future holds for us but I knew not the what was once the future when we won our 2003-2004 CL title. Besides if I had all the answers about this story it wouldnt be a good story at all. Promise is ahead folks. But we must turn the page in order to relish the memories of this soon to be closing chapter. Let the story be told.
FORZA MILAN!

FORZA MILAN!
Thanks Kui! And you're right. Milan is a great storybook. And like any great novel, the protagonist has to face some challenges along the way. In the end, it makes the story more satisfying. We must begin looking forward to the next chapter; to take this as an opportunity to remake an aging team that we could not hold onto forever, no matter how much we may have loved it. This can be a rebirth; and if done right, we can build a club that can achieve great things. There are many enormously gifted players out there who would be proud to wear the colors of the Rossoneri. We just have to find them. Milan will go on, as it always has, and it will always be in our hearts. The players will always change. That is nature. But the pride of Milan will never die.
Forza Milan!
Actually, I dont think people in here swear Sheva or would insult him in the stadium. Paople are mostly dissapointed that our best player is leaving us. And not only our best player, but our new captain, man who swore to be "milanista like maldini and baresi", our legend already. Maybe fans can put some transparent on in the sunday game and ask him to stay. If he really wants to leave, he will, but its normal people ged dissapointed. Some less, some more. For instance, if Gattuso,Pirlo,Seedorf,Cafu, serginho or even Nesta leave us, I wouldnt care a bit as I do about Sheva. He is like Van Basten,Baresi,Maldini.
I just saw the interwiew on TV. He looked really sad and disturbed. Sheva is a good person, modest guy, I wish him luck but I will stay a bit dissapointed for him leaving ACM , the club he said he wants to play forever.

I hope not. I hope that everyone cheers him louder than ever. If there is any chance that he will have a change of heart, it will come through love, not hate. Boos and swearing will only make matters worse. I think he is truly torn between his love for Milan and his desire to do what is best for his family. And I could never fault anyone for putting their family first. I hope that all Milan fans will realize that Sheva is a good and decent man and that he is not doing this to be a mercenary.
From The Independent (English newspaper).
"I want to leave," Shevchenko said. "I cannot hide my wish any longer from the fans. "
"
Compared:
It's useless to hide the facts. I was with the president and I we spoke about a lot of things.
I want to leave? Did Sheva say that? I don't think so. Be very careful with translation boy. It seems that even the newspaper can't do the quotation exactly.
How shameful it is
The facts are starting to come through:
Yes, the wife wants Jordan to learn English etc...
> Jordan is not even 2 years-old. Can learn English in Italy (I did)
Yes, Sheva asked for a contract extension with more money
> Berlusconi said no
> Berlusconi is smart enough to realise whats going on (Chelsea's mega-millions) and wont be held to ransom.
Yes, Sheva has said that nothing has been decided yet, he could remain at Milan
> Sheva admitting that he wants more money and a longer contract. If he gets this, he will remain, if not, then its goodbye.
Yes, Milan management have already started the process to find a replacement as ordered by Berlusconi.
The persistent Chelsea overtures have finally broken Sheva and/or his wife.
Not a true Milanista - He can go!

Sheva said that he loves Milan and wants to finish his carriera in Milan...and now he basically proves the opposite...:( Why would he want to leave Milan???! Milan gave him everything and taught him almost everything he can at the moment.
It is very possible that he wont be able to addapt to english style of play...its a lot quicker than italian...and he may not addapt to the team...in this case he ll profesionally die. Stupid thing to do when you are 29...
Berlusconi officially confirmed that Sheva leaves..so I guess its not a rumour..it s serious...:(:(:(

Guys we love Sheva.
He did well for us and spent his best years here. He is almost 30 now and we will get good money for him. Football is a business. Let's see him off in style.
We will need Abramovich's money to reinforce some areas of our team. Believe it or not, management buying Gila last year was an indication that the player is our future...alongside Kaka.
Gila will only get better.

A Ukrainian can never be Maldini or Baresi for a club. I never understood how a foreigner can comprehensively encapsulate Italian values. Totti, Del Piero, Maldini all have one thing in common.

not only that but he from the very beginning simply couldn't be put on one level with those two - Sheva started his career with Dynamo Kiev and was aleady a star when he arrived Milan. He could be compared to van Basten, Weah, etc but not to Baresi, Maldini, or Billy.

"Milan prepare for Sheva future"
GALLIANI: 'Milan will not sell Shevchenko'
13/05/2006
MILANELLO - Galliani on Shevchenko: 'Berlusconi's Milan has never sold a player for money. Shevchenko has a three-year contract and from our point of view he will remain at Milan. We talking about the player who has scored the most goals for Milan in the last 50 years, we are talking about a great player. If Shevchenko asks for a transfer, we will face that problem. I must be clear, for the fans whom I feel great responsibility, that Shevchenko will not be sold. It's been two years since Peter Kenyon and Roman Abramovich asked for Shevchenko and we said no. We don't need the money from Chelsea, we don't need to sell players for money. Sheva not only spoke to Berlusconi but to me, there has been no transfer request. We continue to hope that Sheva does not leave, Milan does not sell Shevchenko but we'll face the problem when Sheva places it.'

With Shevchenko wanting to leave Chelsea has more leverage against us to not pay a stupidly higher fee like they offer every year, which is a bad thing. They are also being funny about Gallas. I can't say I'm thrilled by the choice of replacements linked, Eto, Henry, and Van Nistelrooy. Henry is the best of those 3, but his style suits Spain and will likely go there 'If' he leaves Arsenal, which I think is dependant on CL success. I wonder if the lack of silverware by being runners up in recent seasons also having a bearing on Sheva's decision.
Ac have never been a selling club, especially their best players, but we’ve also never kept players against their will. Gutted doesn't even describe how I feel at the moment as we are losing our jewel. I hope Berlu gets his finger out and drafts in a few substantial players to make up for this. :(

Ok... lets discuss this. Chelsea does have leverage in regards to its $$$ bid. Our leverage would be that we have the 3yrs remaining of his contract with us plus his age. By the end of the contract, a number of things will happen. He'll be what??? 32 going on 33 yrs of age. Perhaps by then he's of no interest to Chelsea. This can go against us as we would hope at 32 yrs of age he still scoring for us and happy even playing for this club during those 3yrs left on the contract. I dont know??? We could be dubious about the whole thing by having someone break his legs permanently thus ending his career come Summer 2009. No harm for us as a free agent player who wants to leave does nothing financially for this club. I wouldnt do this but unless he all of a sudden just sucks come the end of his contract with us, I do not see why we just dont get the best $$$ from him now.

we care abt you family and we want their wish of being with the abramovic family to come true.
we will never think of making money from u, we will give you away for free.
u r greater than maldini, billy, baresi and our other legendary players.
u rock carlo suks, u rock, milan suks.

-why force him to stay with us if doesn't want to?
-after so much respect and applause for him even when he hadn't scored for months, he comes out and says - I might leave milan., he isn't even sure!
-he is detroying our current season and the next season.
-there is certainly lot more than just 'family reasons', if he wud have come out and said everyting I wud have respected his decision. Along with that he has given us such a short notice, its so disrespectful towards the club.
well its time to make money, I hope we sell him chelsea and in return get sh!t load of cash aong with players like gallas and robben. Later buy henry or eto'o

Milan might not sell sheva......but remember if sheva ask for a transfer request there is so much milan can do.
It's hardbreaking hearing this from one of my favourite players.
But no players is bigger than our Il grande Milan.
If he wish to leave, let him go and just hope for his happiness. :depress:
Remember great players comes and go in Milan......weah, MVB, Rivera but Milan always produced great players.
Milan can survive without Sheva. Right now it's about building a team around kaka...Gila :firedev:
But if he decide to stay, I be glad
I`m absolutely shocked. It took me 2 days to actually `digest` this news. Some of you make really good points when saying that we`ll profit from selling him, that he`s already 30,that the club comes first and that this is simply football, but i cannot help but feel terribly let down and pi$$ed off. There`s more at stake,it`s how i see it. I know it`s like that, players come and go,we grow attached to some of them, but it`s not too often that you see someone wearing a captain band, you hear him say his heart belongs to Milan, and then what happens...True,he could never be at the same level as Baresi or Maldini, because he didn`t start at Milan and because he`s not an Italian.I second that. Yet,his presence at Milan has given us so much. I hope he doesn`t leave, i really do.If he does, i`ll be heart broken and it`ll take me a while to overcome that.I wish i had the strength to say that i won`t be mad at him and that it won`t hurt to see him at Stamford Bridge. No matter who starts playing for us, and no matter how well, it`ll take so much time to recover from this wound...

I'm as shocked as anyone about the Sheva comments, but people need to calm down. He's a leader and inspiration in this side and thats why we've all grown so attached to him. Personally, I don't want him to leave at any cost, as although it may be beneficial to build for the future, the club doesn't need Chelsea's money to do that and I think Sheva's leadership and experience will count for a lot when we do build in the way Billy and Maldini are at the moment.
However, if he leaves, I'll thank him for what he's done and wish him the best. I'll still consider him a legend here for his accomplishments over the 7 years, even if it won't be the status Maldini and Baresi have earnt.
One thing is sure, Milan don't lose star forwards without getting a great replacement. We had Marco Van Basten and after his time came George Weah who was eventually replaced with Sheva and when Sheva finally does go (whether it be this year or at retirement), one fact seems quite certain, a class act will follow.

I like the way how most of us have reacted to this news just goes to show on that we are true Milan fans and not the fan of Sheva, because there are not much statments as " If Sheva is leaving Milan I am too". Anyways I myself am a bit dissapointed to hear all this Sheva is no doubt a champ but you cannot hide away from reality.
Now if he is leaving for 30 million and any two Chelsea players apart from Terry and Lampard then be it. Cause we can spend the money to buy any forward the world is open and the two players could be among Crespo, Cech, Essien, Gallas and Robbens.
Now if he is not leaving then no bad feelings we have Sheva.
In the end i would say Thanks to Sheva for everything he has done for Milan. :depress:

I still stand by my theory, that all this Sheva stuff is just a diversion of the match fixing scandal.
For real, if I am Berlu, why would I start something like Sheva leaving when ur club is being investigate on possible match fixing, that is like adding oil to a fire.
Thus, Berlu must have done that for one reason and that is using Sheva rumor as diversion. Beside, if I am Sheva, I would not ask to leave the club at the moment since that is the last thing the management would want to deal with.
Am I the only one here that follow this logic??????

Agreed......i too have the feeling that this has more to it than meets the eye...forget the wife talk and that jordan will speak english or what the hell ever else....i think it's more to it than what everyone is saying...i don;t think it's a problem with the coach...becuase honestly Berlu will quicker allow carlo to go to real than let his jewel go to chelsea.....
it's not about the money...becuase according to the last report of worlds richest men.....Roman is only 0.5 billion richer than berlu.....and when u are worth 0ver 30 billion , 0.5 billion it really not a significant difference
The only thing i can see is that this will be used to either attain a player they really want or used to cover something up....at the end of the day i think sheva will still be a milan player......and if by some chance he really does leave...then we will go get someone like ronaldinho and play with 1 striker and 2 attacking midfielders......
But if sheva really wanted to leave...then this announcement would not have been made....like gavin rightly said...why make such an announcement days before the title could be won and during the investigation ??
"regards my family"?????
come on guys, you can't trust this man anymore, not after he said that he wanted to be like Paolo or Billy then declares his intention to leave.
you're no man if you can't walk your talk! :irritate:
i will find it really hard to have faith in him again, even if he decides to stay.
i got 4 posters of him hanging on my wall, and if he does leave the first thing i'd do is to tear them all down, ONLY Milan players deserve to be there.
nevertheless i would thank him for all those magical moments and goals he gave us. with or without him, we'll be just fine!
FORZA MILAN :firedev: :firedev: :firedev:
i have seen some interesting things here and i must admit that they have logic.i think we should wait for a couple of days before we say goodbye to our beloved hero because this can easily be a trick to cover some other ****,let's just wait a few days and see what will happen and not to accuse sheva like he is worst traitor
I still stand by my theory, that all this Sheva stuff is just a diversion of the match fixing scandal.
The 'problem' with that theory is that it means that the club itself is in trouble over the scandal...and thats worse news than losing Sheva.
Or are you saying Berlusconi (or whoever) is creating a diversion for the sake of Juve and other clubs? :undecide:
triniman

It could be for the sake of the serie A.....if allegations are true then not only will juve be penalised, but the serie A as well could also face trouble...with the league headquarters invloved.....Thus they may lose a place in the champions league, or worse, be banned from the champions league for a while....becuase although there is no direct connection between juve and any uefa competition refs, the fact that the fixed matches means that they besically decide who get to play champions league football and who doesn't.......Thus thus shreading the already worn fabric of the champions league together ( remember that alot of people were against the entire exampsion of the CL becuase they said that only league winners should be involved).
I don;t thing UEFA will take that to lightly...so this can have alot more implications than we think......so using this as a smoke screen would well take some heat out of the situation...or at lest remove some unwanted attention

I buy your logic. We shall see if Sheva stays than this was a great scam of what you described as a diversion of media from the investigation. What a great outcome it would be - Sheva stays and the investigation loses steam, huh?
This has nothing to do with the scandal. Lets not look for reasons of why this is happening. Players come and go all the time. Very few end up like Maldini so lets not expect that from everyone.
To tell you the truth, I don't know if I want him at Milan anymore. Yes, he is the best forward in the world, but he stated that he IS THINKING of leaving the club. I am dissapointed, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. The sun always comes out after the storm and I think that will happen. The club will lose a champion, but will benefit greatly in return as well. We will build a very solid team that in fact can win everything next yea(ex: Diarra, Gallas, Oddo and possibly Henry = Abramovich's $)
The problem is, I don't have a problem with Sheva staying now. He is a great player and he will help the team. However, I will never have the same feeling about him like I did untill 2 days ago. He had a special place in my heart where he was mixed with Maldini and Baresi. Now, if he stays he will only be an ordinary player that is there to satisfy the norm, wich for him = scoring goals. If you really really think objectivly however.......he wants to go, then lets use him to built a squad that can win a lot of trophies.
If this is simply an attempt to divert attention from the match-fixing scandals, it's not working. The reports are everywhere you look every single day. What good would it do to cook up something like this, which basically would only divert attention for a day or so and mostly among fans of Milan? There is no logic whatsover to this argument.
Of course, it's possible that Sheva will have a change of heart and decide to stay. I hope with all my heart this is the case. Last year, Steven Gerrard had actually announced for certain that he would be leaving Liverpool and the Liverpool fans turned on him, calling him a traitor as well as any number of other vile names. It got quite ugly until he had a change of heart. Suddenly the Liverpool fans who had been spewing filth at him came running back like little lost puppies. It would sadden me greatly to think that any fan of Milan could possibly act like a Liverpool fan, so before some of you continue to bash Sheva you might want to exercise a little patience and see how all this turns out.

tommorow, if he is not a puzzy he will come at the san siro and probably make his final decision. At the end if he does wave at the crowd then surely he has moved his stuff to london from milan . I wonder what the ultras might be preparing for him. neway, at the end he doesn't leave, it would be very stupid of him. He screwed his 6 year's reputation with that silly revelation. At chelsea he will be treated just like a robot - deliver at mourinho's will else f# off.
Only a minority of Liverpool fans turned on him ... you might want to get those facts straight before you start trying to make a point.
And for your information the majority of Liverpool fans are genuinely appreciative of good football and good players, whether it's in their own team or in the opposition's.
Don't tar everyone with the same brush.

Now we all know that this is a big news for a football fan and such news usually appears on uefa.com for sure, but it hasn't happened...maybe Uefa knows what we might not. just a thought
now that i have come to me senses, i have to say that some people here are taking this sheva bashing way over the top, i may have been hard on him too but when i read some of the posts here they make him sound as if he killed someone or something! ... im not happy about this, but what if it is true, that hes facing family problems, what if it is not really his son needing to learn english but something else thats bigger, lets cool down with the generalizations a bit, maybe were all reacting like this because it was so unexpected and were not used to it, i personally didnt imagine someone would want to leave the team other than the fact that hes not playing and even still there are those who dont play much but the atmosphere at milanello is too good for them to want to leave, as for his words a month ago about him wanting to stay here for ever and wanting to become a maldini or baresi or billy .. etc, well maybe thats the way he thought about it back then and since he began to feel unhappy and decided to leave, just because he said that doesnt mean he CANNOT leave the club, who are we to force to him to stay based on something he said, we all know he loves the club more than anything, probably even his wife, but its much harder for him to leave his wife than to leave his team... and - to those who think otherwise - dont say you would do so, because half the people here arent even married and dont know how much harder it is to lose a wife... as much as i love milan, but family always comes 1st to me and no obsession should come above it.
conclusion: Thank You shevchenko for everything.... every single thing!! all the good memories, even the bad ones, the great goals, the ups and downs, because i know one way or another it helped me be the person i am today! and goodluck whatever you do or wherever you go, and Forza Milan e Sheva Per sempre
one of the certain things in life is change. without change we can not live life completely or die. if sheva leaves, that itself is a sheva's other form of contribution to milan since we can use the sale to buy other fresh players.
no doubt sheva is good player, but he lacks spark and motivation lately, probably because of istanbul. i think milan need change and to be refreshed.
if he is gone , he will go to chelsea, since there are lots of players in chelsea that we like to have here, like gallas and crespo, and the remaining cash can be used to buy henry/diarra/tevez.

I can't believe people think the match fixing scandal is the reason for Sheva announcing that he's leaving. OF COURSE not, it doesn't have anything to do with this scandal. I know fans of Italian football like to speculate and create conspiracy theories, but Sheva's decision to leave has nothing to do with what's going on with the investigation.
The situation with Sheva doesn't make the match fixing scandal any better, it just makes us Milan fans feel a lot worse about what's going on in the club these days. And I think Berlu, Galliani and the others realize this. They're probably just as worried as we are right now.

dont know how much harder it is to lose a wife...
do you know how hard it is to lose a wife?
Yes, I know, it is practically impossible :-)
i too dont believe in any major conspiracy theory, but i must say that what gavin and the others are saying do make sense. the timing of all of this is very peculiar. why is sheva making this announcement now? we still have a game to play and the title is still within our reach (mathematically at least). the rumours that have been swirling about his departure is nothing new---has been happening over the last two years. so why does he have to come out and make this announcement? why did berlusconi disclose this to the media now? why not wait til the season is over? this is creating unnecessary disruption when there is still everything to play for.
secondly, about the "family reasons" claim sheva is making. we (at least I) know it is bs. some may say family comes before club, but who is saying that he has to make that choice? if his wife wanted to go back to the states, would he come out and say that he would like to join the mls for "family reasons"? there is no family reason good enough to leave a top club, as a legend, and being publicly endorsed by the most powerful man in italy. whatever the family reason is, it ought to be worked out. so unless there is something like a serious illness or death in the family, i am not buying his bs.
And about Galliani's recent comments that we wont sell sheva---as i see it, there are only two possibilities: 1) He really means it and would do everything possible to convince him to stay; or 2) There is no way back. Sheva is definitely going to leave, so he has to come out and make such statements to keep his price high. Can you imagine how much his value would plummet if sheva came out and said that he will leave for chelsea no matter what?
Well, my heart is still holding out for point 1 to be true, but my brain tells me otherwise.

The thing is, I am not here telling everyone there is a conspircy theory, but the timing is really really bad.
IF you are leaving your company, you would not hand in your resignation when ur boss is stress with other things. Since when u resign from your company, u r also seeing how much your company wants you, ie wage increase and promotion. At least thats what I do. I mean, I would not leave my company if they can match what the others are paying me and title. If I go with this logic, I really can't see what Chelsea can offer Sheva that Milan can't.
Anyhow, I would not be surprise Sheva leaves... but just the fact that the timing is really bad. And even if Sheva did become inconsiderate and asks to leave over the weekend, why would Berlu leaks that out now???? Would it be better if he waits till in the middle of the WC?
I don;t buy the idea that Sheva replacment has already be bought and that is why Berlu is annoucing SHeva is going, since if that really the case, Berlu would be still stupid to say anything now.
The timing of this is really really really bad.

another thing could be that Milan and Chelsea is after another stirker, ie Eto, or another star player like Diarra and since Milan wants Eto, Berlu and Co told Sheva to neg with Chelsea and give them hope that he wants to play for the Blues. Thus the Blues will be to occupy with chasing Sheva that they will no longer have the resources or concentration on Eto and Diarra. Since Chelsea would also notice that Milan is really after Eto and Diarra, they would really believe that Milan will let Sheva go.... That way, Milan would no longer be in a bidding war with Chelsea for Eto and Diarra.
That my friend is pure conspiracy theory.

Hi everybody, I am new to this forum and my name is Conti
Now about the Sheva transfer, I dont know if it´s good or bad but it will atleast answer some questions we fans have, in what way will the money be used? paying for Bosmans? Or do we spend it in the midfield and finding the rigth partner for Gila. I hope it will be used on someone as Henry, Eto i know it sounds hard but if chelsea can get Sheva why cant we get someone?

Exactly Triniman! Boy I could have used you in the Moggi thread a week and a day ago when I did say the following passages:
Whatever it is, keep in mind that if it threatens Juve, then it can ruin Milan. If it ruins Milan than it ruins all the other clubs. If so, than it ruins Calcio Italia. If so, it ruins European Football. If so, it ruins what we all thought was "the good game". Expect a big disappointment folks if this is the case.
So if there is a conspiracy, who's involved??? All of us! Meaning Juve, Milan, the entire Calcio Federation and from the alleged transcript some high officials within UEFA.
This can mean our indirect involvement. Whether impropriety is unfounded on Milan's part, by being in the same league as cheaters, we are guilty of association. Doesnt mean we are guilty of wrongdoing but it sure puts a dent on the credibility of the league.
We shouldnt be gloating over this scandal for it may be a pandoras box that will bring down not one club but an entire league. Be mindful of throwing stones when we all live in a glass house. This should worry all of us and no one should be happy with these allegations. Like Tony29 though I dont totally agree with all of his thoughts, I agree with his/her sentiments that if Juve is being under the lights of scrutiny, what is not to hold back on Milan being under those same lights
Well the box hasnt been opened totally. We just took a peek in it and found out so much already.
Now Triniman your theory about the Sheva exit may be correct. It could be connected to this Moggi scandal. With all this stuff going on, I just dont know what to believe anymore. I have my own thoughts, but it is just as questionable as anyone elses.
Who care! Sheva is really a bad boy if they really want to go for Chelsea.

--late 90s to mid 00s - Andriy Shevchenko - will leave us for ****ing chelsea
--late 00s - Ricardo KAKA

he is the problem about sheva leaving us
To think iv been wasting my time for the past two season checking how far off Sheva is from Nordahl's record. How can someone pass up the chance to try and become the all time top scorer for AC MILAN. Imagine the honour and the history, he must have lost his marbles to want to join a club that has a history that started 2 seasons ago.

and why all this. why blame roman for it? why blame him for wanting to sign the best forward around?
Imagine that Roman offered a 30 yo old Paolo Maldini an empty check to join Chelsea. Do you think he would go? See it's not just what Abramovich wants or not, it's also what the other party invloved is willing to do.
If Sheva wants to leave Milan and is unhappy here, Roman's not the reason for it, Sheva would be willing to go with or without him. With or without Roman;s money, he won't be any happier if he stays with us.

Spot on.
All that's happening has nothing to do with roman. it's not like he forced sheva at gunpoint to join milan.

yeah, he did try everything to lure him ... but again, if Milan is all Sheva saw/wanted, all Roman did would have failed. In the end of the day, it is what Sheva really wants, that's what's gonna happen. Again, the same example with Maldini, it's not that other clubs haven't tried their luck with him too.
Roman may have done a lot but even everything would have been enough to get Sheva if Sheva's affection and love for Milan was a true one, Baresi/Maldini/Billy/Rivera-style.
If Sheva leaves Milan, it will be because Milan isn't the only option in his heart but one of several. And it could have been anyone else in Roman's spot - laporta, whoever the Real M president is, Glazer, etc, etc - it's just that Roman turned out to be the one in the right place at the right time, nothing more nothing less.

that's a bit too elastic. the important thing is that it worked. aware of it or not, psychological or not,in the end it either works or not and that's what shows whether "love" was indeed "love" or just a deceptive feeling of one.

look at his face. why is torturing himself so much. i'm sure he wudn't have slept properly since that revelation. btw, who are those 2 fools around. the older guy looks like gio armani ( the man who made sheva meet kristen) :rollani:
I've never seen so many attempts at psychoanalysis in my life! People, Sheva is a footballer. Footballers sometimes change teams. He's not the first, you know. Some of you are being totally unfair to him. Because you are fans and think as fans do, you expect Sheva to think in the same way. But why should he? As much as some may have fooled themselves into believing otherwise, Sheva did not grow up with Milan in his heart and the most important thing in the world to him is not necessarily to play for Milan and only Milan. I have no doubt that Sheva came to love Milan, but he does not love Milan in the same way that we do. Very, very few players love a club in that way. Football is his business. There comes a time in most people's lives when they have to sit down and weigh the positives and negatives of a major life decision. This is what Sheva is doing now, or has done. Most of us have done this or will at some point of their life. It's just that our decision will not be splashed all over the media and aside from our family and friends nobody will really care. You can't expect Sheva to remain at Milan just because you personally or all Milan fans collectively want him to stay. He has to decide what is best for his family and what is best for his career. Some of you seem to think you know better than he does what is good for him and his family. But would you want other people to make your life decisions for you? So you see, when you bash Sheva for leaving Milan you're actually being selfish. You are expecting him to do what is best for you, not what is best for his family and for himself.
Look at it this way: If Sheva had actually ever been a player for whom remaining with the club that was in his heart was the only thing, he would never have played for Milan. He would have remained at Dynamo Kiev, where he had been since he was 9 or 10 years old. He came up through their youth system and played for them for five seasons. So, based on your own ideals of how Sheva should be and what should be the most important factor in his decision, why should he ever have left Kiev? And if he were willing to leave Kiev, why would you be so surprised that a day would come when he decided to leave Milan? There may be only one football club for us, but for players there are many.

We felt pretty much betrayed and abandoned when Sheva left Kiev for Milan.
I am sure all Kiev fans felt the same way, I am sure Lobanovsky was not happy either.

Dynamo Kiev have never reached the Champ. League semifinals since, well ... Andrey has, he even brought the CL trophie to Kiev one day...

besides, I beleive a player can have have 2 or 3 spells in his career, he has had 2 of them which were fantastic and he is heading for the 3 one. I wish him luck. ciao. One thing is for sure he cannot find a club which is as big as milan or fans who are as grateful as milanistas
The difference is the Kiev fans still love him because they all expected him to move to a club like Milan. The whole of Ukraine would have been happy to see Sheva develop at Milan.

look at his face. why is torturing himself so much. i'm sure he wudn't have slept properly since that revelation. btw, who are those 2 fools around. the older guy looks like gio armani ( the man who made sheva meet kristen) :rollani:
The man to the right of Sheva is Giancarlo Capelli, Il Barone, certainly not a fool but the "capo", the Paolo Maldini of curva sud.

And why shouldn't Milan fans still love him? I do. You should never expect a player to spend the rest of his career at Milan or any other club. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment. It's too rare these days. There is too much opportunity to move around and seek new challenges. The game has changed over the past 15 years. There is too much money involved and it's too easy to move around within the EU. And you're still making the mistake of thinking that this is all about you. Or me. Or any fans. Sheva can't live his life based on our feelings and shouldn't be expected to. He needs to do what's best for himself and for his family. Why should we be upset if he does that? He gave us seven wonderful years. Isn't that enough? George Weah was only here for five years before moving to Chelsea. Do you harbor hard feelings toward him? And didn't Milan find a pretty good striker to replace him?
I completely agree that we should not keep a player if he wishes to leave. If Chelsea wants him very badly can they pay Gallas+Robben+GBP35M ? may be they can, let's milk the cow till the last drop.
For us that means Sheva = Gallas+Robben+Henry+Diarra+Chris+Oddo or may be just a very little less than that.
I am very sure if Sheva stays he still can deliver high performace for another 3-5 years but I would not be supprised if he ends up in disappointment there.

minhduc, all ur posts are nice ideas, but none of them is realistic.. what you are saying is what u want to him, but lets face it, Milan will never buy that many players in a season, especially with a team like that we have already.. buying players will cause unsettlement between players, and thats the last thing we need..
so far, the only realistic thing I can see that Milan will do this summer is Oddo or Gallas, nothing else. I know a midfielder will come, a sub for Rino, but I have no idea who.
And why shouldn't Milan fans still love him? I do. You should never expect a player to spend the rest of his career at Milan or any other club. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment. its a very broad generalization you are making Rick. of course, we cannot expect a player to remain at a club forever, of course all players will eventually go. No one is denying that. however, in this case there is all reason for the fans to be upset, dissappointed and quite frankly deeply hurt. this is because of the manner with which all of this has transpired. you cannot even begin to compare sheva's move from kiev to milan. that is a move UP, that is a move that confirms sheva's status as a top player, and no matter how upset initially, it is a move that all dynamo fans knew was inevitable and a move that i dare say is more a source of pride for them than a source of regret---after all, their idol has made it to the big stage---that is the dream of all top players.
sheva's proposed move to chelsea however is a completely different matter. Why? i'll try to tell you: 1) It is a move DOWN!! to all football fans in the world, except for the arrogant chelsea phans, this is a move down in footballing terms. you can look at past or current history, there is no way that chelsea can even be uttered in the same breath as milan; 2) The timing of his move: after securing a new contract and publicly stating his love for the club, it was hugely unexpected that he would make such a turn around. if he had a major rift with carlo, galliani, or berlusconi then that's one thing. or if he was on the bench all the time, that is also a potential reason. but when he is such an idol, a legend, loved and supported by all fans and management, then why is he leaving? any fan would be unhappy; 3) His age and form: he is not leaving us, as weah did, when he was on the decline. sheva is leaving us while still in his prime!! we did not suffer too much when weah or gullit left, but believe me we will feel sheva's absence; 4) the whole "family reasons" excuse: we, the fans, and of course the club are also his family. what family reasons does he have to leave milan? what is so urgent that he cannot work out? or why is it so urgent that he cannot share the details with the club or media? quite frankly, "family reasons" is a bs reason. i dont buy it one bit.
in the end, the ball is in shevchenko's court, but if he leaves, or even by announcing that he may leave, we as fans are never going to be able to accept it lying down. that doesnt mean anything is going to change, but that sickening feeling in your stomach (i get it whenever i think of this), anger, sadness, regret are going to be there for every fan. after all this is sheva leaving, our sheva.....not simic, not kaladze, not seedorf, not pirlo, but shevchenko----such is the place that he occupies amongst the tifosi.

I'm terribly disappointed, even though i reckon Sheva will always be a Milan legend and part of its history.
But i'm honestly too sad and disappointed to say how i will react to this departure.
surely Milan won't allow him go without having secured a great player like Henry or Eto'o before. And Chelsea must pay 70 mill. Not a cent less.
I honestly don't think Milan will sell sheva...
BUT... Once again .. Money TALKS !! Money Sings :musk: !!
70 Million!!! not a cent less !!!
Then we will talk about Henry or Eto OR RONALDINHO !!
OR Even BOTH !!!! Ronnie and Etoo -- Ronnie and Henry ???
Who knows ???
Just like I said MONEY TALKS !!!

Exactly, Rahul: to get a near complete player like Robben will be fantastic, I think indeed that he, and not Gallas, should be our prime target on the whole deal.

yeah i was thinkng about that, i think we should look to buy zambrotta mainly, and we should look at emerson if diarra doesnt come, buffon and maybe zlatan (i think hes had the same kind of season kaka had last season) and maybe cannavaro but hes such a nasty player
grenoli, whos ruy?
as for robben, i think we should try to include him in the deal maybe 50M + robben and gallas, nothing less, we dont really want to sell sheva, but that doesnt mean we have to give him to them on their orders, if they want him so bad, theylle have to cough up the dough!

As much as I love Milan, I can't consider a move to Chelsea to actually be a step down for Sheva -- at least not in terms of football and the potential for success. Yes, they do not have our history, but right now they are probably the club with the best opportunity to win things over the next few years -- especially if Sheva goes there. We have to be realistic about this. Right now Milan is an aging club on the verge of some big turnovers, especially on defense. Chelsea, regardless of our personal feelings about them, is a club that appears to be one Shevchenko away from being the best team in the world over the next few years. Milan is still capable of winning the Scudetto and the Champions League. Hopefully we will make some good moves this summer and do just that. But Chelsea is almost certain to win in England and with Sheva will be the favorite in Europe also. So I can see how a move to Chelsea could be a great opportunity for any player. And hating them doesn't change that fact.
And yes, in a sense Milan has become Sheva's family. But it is not the same as his real family. As I said in an earlier post, anyone who actually loves Milan more than they love their wife or their children is in serious need of psychological help. I don't know why so many of you are so unwilling to accept Sheva's reasons at face value. Why would he lie about it? Until there are some actual facts presented that prove otherwise, I will accept that Sheva is leaving because his family will be happier and his marriage more stable if he does. Why do so many of you want to turn this into something sordid? It's as though you are grasping for reasons to hate Sheva. But when you hate -- whether it's Sheva or Chelsea or anyone else -- you are not hurting what you hate. You're only hurting yourselves. Why not wish Sheva the best and move on? Milan will find another great striker. Or do you not have confidence in our club? Players will always come and go, but AC Milan will be forever.

I would love to see Robben in a Milan uniform. A few weeks ago on one of the World Cup preview shows on Fox Soccer Channel here in the U.S., they had Robben do one of those "Plus 10" things, where he chose the players he would most like to play with him in a game. Several were current or former Milan players! Apparently Marco van Basten was his hero and, of course, Marco is now his coach on the national team. I remember thinking when I watched this that maybe someday Robben would join the Rossoneri.
Unfortunately, it looks as though his father is trying to engineer a move to Real Madrid. And his father was quoted as saying that the only place they would consider moving was to Spain.

So now it seems that, most of u would not mind Sheva leaving as long as Chelsea pays a huge sum with Gallas and Robben, how about Lampard too?
Then with the money, Milan will go out and get Eto and Henry. Now thats what I call a great team.
For real, I still think that Sheva might end up staying in Milan as long as Milan go out and improve the squad. Like adding Gallas, Oddo,Sneijder, Diarra and De Rossi.

There is another possibility, that I havent seen mentioned here(though I may have missed it)...but I doubt it as realistic: Sheva could be doing a "Totti"...
What is a Totti: A Totti is when a player makes this sort of statement: "I love this club, yadda yadda yadda, but I will consider leaving if the I feel that the club´s ambitions dont match mine"...
Could it be that Sheva is sending Berlu a message? Spend big on transfers this season, bring in some younger defenders, or I will leave?
Hmmmmm clutching at straws here..but these are desparate times, and as such, call for desparate measures...
Having said that, I have almost, if not completely come to terms with his departure, and if I am not sure of taking another breath, I am sure that we WILL spend BIG to replace him, and we will be the same, or better Milan come next season.
Indeed, I hope the "UCL Curse" hits him as well...it happened to Viera, and to Owen...and I certainly hope that if he leaves for Chelsea, that they again go out in the semi´s, and we bag #7...heh heh heh...still hurts though...and will continue to hurt for sometime to come...
Ah well...as always: FORZA MIIIIIIIIILAN!!!
Like you, Warro, I am now resigned that he is leaving. It was very hard to grasp, and didn't come without some tears after watching a video of his best goals. If he ends up staying, it will a great moment, something more that expected because I am now 80% certain thay he will leave.
I already wrote a very long 'Tribute to Sheva' thread that I have save on my computer, but I hesitated to post it before it was official. Let's hope that post was just a huge waste of my time ;)

there are these 2 members (kyara and besi) at acmilanonline forum. I just cannot say how much effort they have put in to send requests to sheva.
What did they do?
Someone want Sheva=GBP70M or 60M+Gallas, that would be pretty TOO good for us which will not happen. To be realistic Gallas+Robben+GBP35M would be the max we can get but even that is really a dream-come-true if we can turn that out to:
Sheva=Gallas+Robben+Diarra+Henry+Oddo+Chris(or Chivu). Now I am really excited about this idea.
Hitmann is worried that too many players coming in at a time may creat a mess, that is a reality but we can secure the players first and take in as needed or loan sone of them.
Then we can offload: Rui, Simic, Stam, Voggel or Ambrosini; retire: Billy, and give Seedorf, Pirlo, Kaka, Maldini, Serginho, Nesta, Kala, Gattuso a relief by rotating players so that they are always the best or change the play system if necessary.
Some one want Totti, Zlatan or Lampard... I feel that those players will give us trouble in the dressing room.

[SIZE=5]Hi all i am a new member but an old time fan to milan, regarding sheva. I feel so disgusted by his behaviour, if you want to leave leave but be honest with the club, i think that milan had gave him alot of respect and honour more than he deserves. Sheva leaves so what, we love him? ok sure but why we love him because he is a milan player who gave us a lot not because we are amazed by his personality or sth. Its about his wife that keeps nagging and nagging and he is a kind of a man that cant have a word with her cause seems he loves her more than she loves him so he is surely ready to sacrifice more than her. Let him go and let milan build a team that one day will meet with chelsea's sheva and nesta will partner him and then you will know that sheva is a regular forward that milan made him. Any way good bye sheva and stam and anyother milan player and forza ancelotti for what you have done, at least milan is more stable now with you carletto

there 's a small chance he can stay, but i don't want to fuel the hope of those who're praying for him to stay..let's say he's thinking about it very well, even better than before the last sunday.
anyway, 60 mill+ Gallas are NOT a joke. Drogba was priced 40 mill..shevchenko must be much more worthy than drogba...no excuses, in case sheva leaves we must rip off abramovich, we have a contract with sheva so if he wants him he must pay 70 mill. end of the story.

Rick, in my opinion, moving to chelsea from Milan is without a doubt a step down. This is true at every level. If you want to look at present history, we can. Over the last four years, we have won one UCL, one Scudetto, runners up medal in UCL, semi final in UCL (this year), and runners up (until Juve get relegated :)) in serie a this year. That is FAR more than the two league titles chelsea have won back to back. You want to compare current teams? We can. Look at our starting line-up and look at chelsea's. We are no way inferior, in fact, i believe our starting eleven is better. I must concede, though, that their bench has perhaps more depth than ours.
I agree with you that our side is aging, but we are certainly not on a decline. We are still competitive in every competition we play in. With the appropriate reinforcements, the transition from older to younger players can be made. Now, i won't even comment about past history, because as we all know, chelsea's history started two years ago and will probably end when abramovich goes bank rupt or gets bored.
All that aside, the REAL reason i feel that a chelsea move would be a step down is because it is a club that lacks class, lacks integrity, and lacks humility. For me, winning is not everything, it is how we win (just like sacchi used to say). We will never be remembered as a club that has won the most, that honour is reserved for clubs like Real Madrid (in Europe) and Juve (in Serie a), but i can tell you that we will be remembered as a club that wins and loses with class, with style. THis is why i fell in love with this club in the first place. So if sheva is moving from us to barca or real or man utd, or even another italian club, i might be able to swallow it. but a move to chelsea is for me simply distasteful. i dont care how many trophies they win, but if they do it with that level of arrogance and with such poor class, then for me, thats an insult to the trophy.
after all that rambling, i will say that i agree with what you're saying, but only from a rational, reasonable, objective point of view. but from the point of view of an emotional fan, it will always hurt to see one of our idols move away from us prematurely. and no matter how much money we get from the deal, i will probably still feel this way--the same way i felt when MVB ended his career with us before his time. oh well, such is life. But as you say, with or without sheva, MIlan will go on. FORZA MILAN!!
Yes Sheva is a very professional player, whoever paying more will get his service, that is market reality, we are just fans we don't pay players, let's accept this fact. I feel that even he stay with us ofter this summer, his position in the team and so his form will be effected.
Roman is also a money player, what he wants he will offer to buy, what he can not buy he will offer more to buy. So Milan should be only commerically minded, there is no need to panic of losing a star.
Giovanni, I am very happy to hear that 60M+Gallas is not a joke, can we have that? If so we can ask them Gallas, Robben, Cech, Del horno and 35M while we give them Sheva+Dida what you think? THey want Sheva badly, why not?
It is so true that we can not win anything with current team including Sheva, so let's have a fresh start next season with a new team to build a new era.

from acmilan.com:
MILAN - La Gazzetta dello Sport published the fact that Milan had five players in the Italy squad, with coach Marcello Lippi stating: ''We are finally getting closer to the finals. I await the start with great anticipation and as much enthusiasm.' In the same paper, Billy Costacurta spoke about Andriy Shevchenko: 'Andriy was very moved in the dressing room on Sunday, he had a pretty heavy heart but we told what he had said to the press, that nothing was settled yet.'
Billy also appears in Tuttosport: 'The investigation? It seems pretty clear but I would prefer to wait until the definite truth.'
maybe a small hope. :(

HI! I just watched Chelsea present Ballack. It hit me when a journalist asked Ballack what were his reasons for jouning Chelsea over Man United and he said like Chelsea is a great club, bla, bla, bla... AND "London is really a great city and a nice place to be if you are a family man." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :LoL
...If you offered me Ronaldinho, Gallas, Crespo AND Henry for Sheva I'd say "No, thanx"
I am not sure if this was true, in the past milan rejected chelsea's 70m offer for sheva, i think milan was silly to reject it. now i dont think sheva will cost 70m. Probably it is around 45m now. but that money is still enough to buy 3 great players... i hope they are henry, gallas and one great midfielder(there are alot to choose from: de rossi, diarra, robben, sneijder, vandervaart etc).

i dont think roma will sell de rossi though, he is great.
