It looks like we are an easy source/target to make new articles about players leaving ...

After the fact that the agent of Gattuso said that it was badly translated and so "misinterpreted" and after the fact that Pirlo said he gave no interview these last days (whereas an English newspaper reported he maybe wanted to go ...), I won't believe anything from now until the end of this mercato !!
Exactly, the Pirlo quotes were made up by The Irish Independent, Pato's quotes could just aswell be made up. It's disgusting that these newspapers do stuff like that, surely Pirlo could sue them?

Anyways the Brittish newspapers are just a big load of crap as the Spanish ones, can't believe some of these guys are paid just to sit and tell lies...

Can you link that story?? I can't seem to find it, although there are alot of stories about us being in negotiations. I never seen this guy, but he sounds like a big talent, literally Anyways young Italian prospects are very welcome in my opinion. Now bring over Neymar and we'll have the best young attackers in the world...

So, it seems now that the Cissokho deal fell through, Milan might possibly have turned its attention to Juan Camilo Zuniga, Siena's Columbian right back. A very talented player!

Quote:

Here's the IM Translator English translation:

(AGM-DS) - 19/06/2009 22:50:55 - (AGM-DS) - Milan, June 19 - Mist Cissokho the deal, AC Milan could now focus on the Siena defender Juan Camilo Zuniga. The Colombian, a real revelation dell'undici Marco Giampaolo, appears to be entered in the viewfinder of the club via Turati, looking for an outsider to safe custody in the future perspective. Riccardo Calleri, agent of the defendant, in an interview with Sky microphone does not rule out the track that leads to London: "I can not confirm, the player was presented to rossoneri it is likely that the Siena felt with the club via Turati. About him there is the interest of other companies, some English and two Spanish. An assessment? Approximately 8 million, but for something more accurate you should ask the Siena. "

Thanks, sounds interesting, still a long way to go though, and he's one for the future, not now.

Zuniga is a great player, and like Cissokho still very young. The only problem is that he apparently doesn't have a EU passport as far as I know.

@Chrsitian: It doesn't matter as he's already in Italy... we can sign as many Non-EU players as we want that are already in Italy.

Good move, but he was a right-back. Cissoko preferred playing on the left flank.

So, do we really need reinforcements on the right side, or does this player have equal quality on either side?

Well, Zambrotta can play on either side and Antonini can play on either side as well, so Zambro could go to the left and Antonini could back up on both sides. And it may be that Zuniga can learn to play on the left as well.

As i have stated before, i don't belive that the LB/RB positions are of urgency to be reinforced, as there are far more important positions to secure, such as the CB. Perhaps Galliani already has a CB lined up, and a bid for Dzeko going, so he is looking at other positions? Then again, a back-up goalkeeper should come before a defensive wideman, unless Leo insists on certain players.
Leo just can't buy players to fit his tactical system before filling up holes in fundamental positions such as the core of the defence and the keeper.

It mainly deals with the parent company limiting the subsidiaries' budget to bare minimum and extract as much of their investments from it as they can. To me, that is exactly what Milan is doing right now. And if that's true, then Berlusconi is definitely selling the team soon. I for one am looking forward to remembering him as the former owner of AC Milan.
I totally agree if you, and I have to say this is one of smartest posts I ever saw in a forum.
Lets face the facts, Berlusconi image is very bad nowadays, as a Football Club owner and as politician.
In my opinion he´s planning a back door escape very soon, I belive he´ll sell Milan very soon, retire from politics and command his media empire from the shadows, like a Don.

I´ll never be surprised if we sell Pato and right after that Berlusconi sell the club. All Milan fans should be prepared for very tough and disapointing seasons until we reach this day.

I am hoping that Berlusconi is a man of honor, and will leave the club in a graceful state (that is, not selling the few young stars we have left). However, being a Politician, I highly doubt that this will happen.
I have said this before; lots of wealthier and more willing people are knocking at our doorstep to return this historical club back to its prime, yet Berlusconi still resists. His image as Milan president is now doing him more damage than good due to his recent actions, and if he is not longer willing to invest, then he should leave immeditely and make way for someone else.

I guess how he exits the club depends completely on his passion for the team. If he wants to do what's best for Milan (highly highly doubtful), then he would keep the lone young star in Pato and sell the club as it is. If he just wants to be a good businessman about it, then he will sell everything that is worth something and then sell the club. I read it here a few days back that Berlusconi actually never was a Milan fan but rather an Inter fan. If that is true, then I am afraid we are screwed.

Berlusconi at this stage no longer cares about his image or anyting for that matter. He is already 72 years old, which means there won't be another term in the office no matter what. As a man who is a couple years away from retiring, he flat out does not care about what the people think about him. That is why I believe he is going to stay until he extracts every single penny he can out of Milan and then sell the team to begin his retirement. Afterall, he doesn't care if the team does go down since his kids have no interest in it anyway.

Isn't santacroce Brazilian Italian? I taught with this traits the galliani would have been even more interested in him

I could careless if Berlu sells all the stars and then sells the team. As I am 100% the new owner will then splash about 200Mil on new players. We will think that the new owner is overpaying but hey, if it means getting players like Santacrcoe, Messi, Ibra, Essien and others, I am all for it. It is much better having an owner who actually invest in the club and give a damn about the club then someone who kept saying, SEEDORF IS A CHAMPION.

As I said maybe a hundred pages before, Leo will need more wingbacks as he tends to play wide but not with wingers. That's IMO why our (supposedly) purchase was Cissokho because to play Leo's tactics, we need as many attacking fullbacks as we could buy.

And if most of medias are untrustworthy at the present time, let's have fun and read this! Maybe we could really use this idea to bring Cissokho to Milan! LOL.
