Aren't Modric & Corluka good mates? I'm pretty sure that was one of Corluka's main reasons for joining Spurs.
As we had the Zambrotta deal sewn up, we wouldn't have been looking for another right-back anyway.

When me and mrki are talking about Corluka, we imagine him in CD position...which is his natural position.
Does zapata has an EU passport? santacroche can save us a NE position. Both players are milan quality, their combination remind me Nesta and canavaro pair.

It doesn't really matter. Zapata already plays in Italy so he won't cost us a non-EU place.

Great! If sheva leaves, we can consider zhirkov and adebayor both
Corluka WILL come to Milan and play RB, Zambrotta will play LB and Santacroce will play CB with Nesta! :) :) :) And that will be the strongest defence in the world.

I had been watching alot of Spurs game, mainly due to Modric, but I must admit, I watch the Spurs now b/c of Corluka. Imagine Milan jumping in and sign him for next summer, it will be one of the best signings ever.
Are we linked with Corluka ?
I don't think we'll buy any potential star/rising (or raising, don't remember) star from England, they are too expensive ...
We'll do like we did for years: mainly players from South America and Italy + if there is a good deal to do, a player from England or Spain, but only if the deal is ok ...
We speak a lot about Santacroce and Zapata, we disagree on who is the best for us, so, who calls Galliani to tell him to buy both ? lol
ok man i will call him :P ahahah i will tell him to buy rafinha, santaccroce and zapata.Or njot i will not call him i would say him tonight i will see him cause i have some time free on my agenda and i will him personaly face to face :P hahaha -4-

Who would you take for Milan? Modric or Hamsik or Hernanez?

Who would you take for Milan? Modric or Hamsik or Hernanez?
Although they're not exactly similar players I'd go with:
1. Hamsik
2. Hernanes
3. Modric
Hamsik is the youngest and, IMO, has the most potential; plus he carries an EU-passport. He could replace Seedorf, if we sell Gourcuff, although he'd be very expensive. Hernanes is more of a Pirlo-type player, an alternative to Cigarini. Modric is more attacking like Hamsik, but smaller in stature. I've always thought he was being overhyped, especially by the English media, but in truth I haven't seen him all that much. After he helped Croatia knock out England from the Euro Qualification, everybody wanted him - just like they wanted Arshavin after his first two games at the Euros, after which he flopped in the next two games, and things quieted down.
Modric and Hernanes are two different players, and Milan doesnt need Hernanes, we have 5Dm's. Modric is not a DM, he is a central creative midfielder, the role Seedorf plays now ith Flamini and Rino behind. Anyway, Modric will not ever come to Milan. Endless discussion...

i dont really think corluka is that big a star yet. the big clubs in england arent eying him. ManCity let him walk, he's attainable. Spurs have been awful, wont be in europe (unless they pull another carling miracle) and will probably try to reload.
Midtable english teams never seem to value defenders either. He's alot more attainable then say a chelsea defender..
I'm not sure if you'd have seen the Spurs v Liverpool game mrki, but you might have done because of Corluka. I hope you did see it, if only to see how horrible Dossena has become right now!
Unfortunately for him he was partly/fully to blame for all of the goals.
-Goal 1, he should have been much tighter to Pavlyuchenko, although Hyypia should have been alot stronger in seeing the ball out.
-Goal 2, he could possibly have been a bit stronger on the ball to see off Campbell, but it wasn't his fault the GK decided to go mental and try and tackle everyone at once.
-Goal 3, he let Campbell head the ball almost unchallenged.
-Goal 4, again this was partly the keeper in that he rolled the ball straight to Plessis who was tackled instantly. Zokora took a shot and Pavlyuchenko got the tap in, however in the replays Dossena is seen just standing still and letting the Russian run past him instead of trying to stay in front of the striker. Poor defending.
Maybe the Premier League is just too demanding for him and too quick, he's already been complaining about the lifestyle. Not to mention when the credit crunch first started up he said something along the lines of "If i knew this financial situation would happen i'm not sure i'd have moved". To me that says he doesn't want to really be there. The only comfort he can have from last night is that Degen, Hyypia & the GK were just as bad as him in defence.
mrki, we should not sign Dossena.

Thanx for the info, I havent seen the game unfortunately. I've herad that Dossena has a period of bad games and is benched by Benitez. From what I've seen from him in udinese, fot Italy NT and the beggining of L'pool, he was great. But I believe what you say about his games now... I dont know why it happened. Maybe he is not up to the tempo of EPL...
How did Corluka do in that game? Tottenham was the only club I supported in England, but since the old days, not now coz of Modric and Corluka...I dont know why exactly that started in the beggining, it just happened. So it did with Nantes and Herta Berlin... :)
EDIT:
corluka is ont a star defender, but that is even better for Milan. Burdisso is a star defender :) :)
Breno - hasnt been that good this year, but for sure will be a to class defender as he is only 18!
Hamsik - Napoli would ask for Kaka'+ San Siro most likely for him...
Ancelotti should get Lukaz Fabianski, 2nd choice keeper of Arsenal

because of 1 double save? I think it's a bit early to judge a player who hardly ever plays. Speaking of GKs though, Trappatoni has apparently told Given to move to Italy. I think Given could be a great keeper for us, he's incredibly consistent and i don't think he'd be overly expensive. Just a thought.

How did Corluka do in that game?
I honestly think Benitez wanted him to be his first choice LB, £7.8 million for the Italian is a big investment. But as the season has progressed he's played him less and less in the big games and instead opted for Aurelio. Right now i'm guessing Benitez doesn't trust him and is trying to give him time to settle into England. Wether the tempo is too quick for him (i doubt he'll have faced as many speedy wide players in Italy as he has done so far in the Premier League) or wether he doesn't like the lifestyle in England, i wouldn't be surprised to see him move back to Italy, possibly in January but more likely in the summer.
I didn't see much of Corluka, i only saw the highlights & analysis and unfortunately it was all about the Liverpool defence and Dossena in particular. Corluka didn't have alot to do as he was facing Ngog (too inexperienced to be any threat) and Torres who was starting his first game for 6 weeks, so he was no threat either. Also Corluka was practically in a first choice Spurs defence (Gomes, Bale, Corluka, Dawson, Hutton), Dawson aside (because i think King or Woodgate would be ahead of him normally) so he had a much easier ride than Dossena.
I never quite understood the team that invests 100mln in one summer and has 2 good defenders: King and Corluka. The rest of them are just normal EPL defenders ( Woodgate?? he is not even a defender anymore, he is a suicide!), in my oppinion. And the funny thing is that they bought their best defender for almost nothing compared to forwards and midfielders they payed for. Even more, Gomes is worse then I thought. All of the blame went to the coach ( Ramos ) that created numerous very good and great players with Sevilla, won UEFA cup 2 times and one euro supercup, and played brilliant football... Aguess they just werent clicking with eachother at the beggining and then everything went into depression and here you go. I highly doubt Rednapp is a better coach then Ramos.
And more, to create a big team, you cannot sell 4,5 of your great players. And TWO of yout best forwards and expect Bent and Pavlyinichenko(spelling??) to play as well as Keane and Berbatov instantly.
As a Tottenham simpathiser in EPl, I have to say I dont think thy did such a good job with that 100 mln they spent. Bent, Pavlynichenko, Modric, Corluka, Bentley ( 20 or so mln??)...Gomes... Give Moggi 100 mln and you get a dream team :) You cant go for 1st or CL place in EPL and sell Berbatov and Keane.
Just a quick comment on their mercato and season planning.
Why are Juve playing against Genoa tonight? I mean in the midweek. Anyone knows why?
Btw they are leading 2 goals.
mrki, i think Redknapp is a better man manager than Ramos. He's very good at boosting a player's ego and making them play with more confidence, but i think Ramos is the better manager tactically/technically. You don't do what he's done with Sevilla and become a bad manager over night. Unfortunately it was probably just a communication issue that caused the problems.
Thanks to our management, we don't have all these problems of coach as we have one of the best coachs in world ... :D

I've read it to, he is benched often coz of the stif competion in Bayern, I think it's going to be the same with us.
Is he good?
I can't judge him I haven't seen enough games. But before he went to Bayern he had a solid deal with Real.
But when Real asked him to go an age determiningtest he refused. Why would an 18 year old brazilian defender that get's a chance of playing for such a great team refuse that? Coz he has something to hide! He had the opportunity to prove for once and for all that his age was as he said it was. Coz there were and are rumors that he is in fact older than he claims to be. If you take a look at him back then or even right now it's pretty hard to believe his age. So I wouldn't sign until he gets that bonescan

Karim Benzema: There are many clubs interested, such as Barça [Barcelona] or Real [Madrid], but we should not forget clubs like Manchester [United] or [AC] Milan,” he said, “All are big clubs that footballers dream of playing for.
Lyon president also said that he want to sign Gourcuff.
If there no place for Gourcuff in Milan then put him and more 10 mil and bring Benzema.
I think that Kaka-R80-Pato-Benzema or something like this would be huge!!!

Milan after Zapata! Galliani after Eto...
http://www.sportmediaset.it/mercato/articoli/articolo17992.shtml
I don't understand why Eto'o would come whereas Ronaldinho is there.
- medias lied and the guys are friends or at least, don't have any problem with each other so no prob to try to buy him
- medias were true, the guys hate each other and it would be suicide to buy him for our team

modric can't find himself in totenham how he would play for milan -4- sorry to say but he is not a player to play in a big team like milan. The best choice if we want a midfilder is LORIK CANA he is simply great :D.

Given is an excellent GK. I first watched him back in late nineties when he was a teenager and had Srnicek and Hislop in front him as 1st and 2nd GK. Many young promising GK failed to consistently keep their performance in their later age, look at Paul Robinson (who did superbly for Leeds when they reached UCL semifinals) or Fabian Carini. But despite playing for a --with all due respect-- middle class club like Newcastle United and mediocre players in front of him (from Peacock to Boumsong to Coloccini), he did okay, pulling one save after another every season. In this respect, to me he's like Iker Casillas who many times during the galacticos era single-handedly saved Real Madrid from humiliation caused by their shaky defense

Then we'll have to get the Italian Football Federation to allow to play all our games at the San Siro, otherwise Torres will be no good!

:r11:
The price for Zarate is an agreement in the loan (like Bordeaux with Gourcuff) if I remember and it's around 15M€ ...
So if we want Zarate, we will need to offer more (at least 25M because it seems like there are many clubs interested), but we will for sure firstly have to convince Zarate himself not to sign a contract-pre contract with Lazio, which could be more difficult.
For Diego, don't expect less than 25M to get him, even more because some clubs again will be in competition, especially english ones that will spend tons of millions and kill the market again (if Werder is smart, they can sell Diego for around 35-40M).
I don't know what is the value of Ochoa ...
I don't expect us to buy Hamsik, especially if we want to solve some of our defensive problems with Santacroce !! Do you really think that Napoli, a club that doesn't need money and that comes back to a high level, will sell its best players to a direct competitor ?
It's the main problem for us to get Santacroce: they will surely agree to sell him to us, but at what price ?? His real value is maybe between 8M and 10M for moment, but I'm pretty sure that if we make a bid today, Napoli will ask for 25M ... so when his real value will be around 15M at the end of the season (except if there is a serious injury but we can't hope this), what will Napoli ask for ??
Last rumours are about us making a bid for Zapata in the next winter mercato and about us trying to get Van Persie like we did with Flamini (freely). Just rumours ... we're in November.

Calciomercato but it's just rumours ... that doesn't count in any way for me until there is an official article on the AC Milan website !!

Haven't read about Van Persie's rumour. He's a talented lad, but just like Robben, he gets injured far too often. Zarate has been doing well so far, but this is his first season in Italy where the defenders know nothing about him. Let's see if he can repeat it next year

Are you sure he's got Portuguese citizenship? I've never heard anything of it. True he played for Porto once, but only for less than a year. As far as I know he doesn't have an EU-passport and so can't be bought in January, as we already bought two Non-EUs (Sheva and Viudez). Unless of course we sell Sheva to Madrid :whie:
Anyway, I often wonder why you (almost) never hear of Brazilian players who carry a Portuguese passport. It's always Italian passports. I guess there's a difference between the Portuguese and Italian rules on recieving citizenship?
If its possible, and Thiago Silva has Portugese passport, then signing his for a free would be an EXCEPTIONAL job for Milan. He is a very versatile and skilfull defender, who is able to play as a DM ( so Carlo will like him too :) ). He has great pshisical power and from what I've seen is a very good player.
Of course there is always a danger for brasilian defenders to flop in serie a, but he is a great prospect and for free it would be worth it! Specially since Nesta will come back to Milanello also in january in God knows what condition, Maldini is 40 and Senderos is, by my scale, 2 times less of a player then Thiago Silva. I would go for him without thinking too much. If nothing, we can send Senderos back in the summer and not pay 8mln for that overhyped defender.
EDIT:
Viudez was really a great was to use a NON-eu spot... and the other one, $hevam, was also brilliant... They could have handed me the contract, im also NON eu :)

No,Maldini and Pirlo are well!!Nesta is only major problem for us..Bad translate I think for you becaus.."empty in Milan ambulance for Pirlo and Maldini,Nesta ready in jannuary"..somthing like that!
If Sheva is on loan, he doesn't take any EU slot ...
I say that because we still don't know if we bought him (and for how much) or if it is a loan with an option, etc ...
In FM09, they put him like a loan in the team, but is it a reliable source ??
Anyway, it can be easy to verify if Thiago Silva has an EU passport, play the game and look for him !! lol I'll do it later today to watch if they put him an EU passport or not ...
Oh, so for moment, we are linked with:
- Santacroce (few weeks ago)
- Zapata (from nowadays news)
- Thiago Silva (nowadays news)
- Van Persie (I think it's false)
Did I miss someone ??
Do you think that our management will invest in two players in January for our defense ??
If Zapata is on the market, we can't miss that occasion, and if Thiago Silva is free, we can't miss that too ... two players, not a big economical invest but could be a very big invest for the future of the team !!
Seems like I could be excited for the first time in my life by a winter mercato !! lol
No,Maldini and Pirlo are well!!Nesta is only major problem for us..Bad translate I think for you becaus.."empty in Milan ambulance for Pirlo and Maldini,Nesta ready in jannuary"..somthing like that!
Yep, they say that Maldini and Pirlo are back in the group (that doesn't mean on the pitch of course).
For Nesta, if he comes back at the start of January, we can't expect him to be good before February ... and we'll have to pray for no new injury (even a minor one) !!

Agreed. Although I wouldn't exactly call Senderos overhyped - not because I think he's a great player, but rather because I can't remember anyone hyping him since he was a teenager! Even many, if not most, Arsenal fans thought he was an embarrasment. So much the stranger why we've loaned him?!?
Regarding the van Persie rumours - I don't get them (although I haven't actually seen them yet). How would he fit in? he's not a centre forward, more like: 1) a supporting striker, something we rarely use and when we do it's Pato's role. It would be strange to get someone who'd stand in the way of Pato, our greatest talent. 2) a wing forward (which RVP often plays with the Netherlands NT) which we don't use at all.
I'd say it's a safe bet that he won't come here.
We loaned Senderos as Galliani couldnt find anyone alse and wanted a free player... Weknew Ivanovic is a betrter player but Chelsea didnt want to put "buy option" on him and Milan didnt want to be a feeder club for anyone. And now we have Senderos :)
As far as I know, a loan (for a non-EU player) takes the non-EU spot. So, we can't take any other non-EU player (whatever Sheva's contract, a loan or permanent move) except the non-EU player plays or played last season in Serie (Zapata for example).
Viudez is the other non-EU player for Milan this season to complete the two non-EU players that allowed to come to a Serie A club in one season.

After searching back Brasileiro's post about Thiago Silva (name that always confuses me with Alex Silva), I found (again and again :D) that Thiago Silva was the player whom Brasileiro recommended in certain thread (after David Luiz of Benfica). Brasileiro also said that Thiago Silva is better than Alex Silva when he was asked which one is better between the two's Silva.
But I still have question. Why did Dunga choose Alex Silva in Beijing 2008? Dunga only played Thiago Silva from the first minute in the third match of the group phase (which I think that Brasil has already qualified to the next round in that time).

damn me :wallbang:
why doesnt Sheva have one :D
so that means that Ronnie has either a Spanish or a French passport?
2 solutions for Sheva:
- he has an Italian passport
- he is on loan and loans aren't counted in the EU spots and purchases (like in FM09, when a non-EU player is loaned to your team, he's not counted in the non-EU players bought nor in the non-EU spots).
Siregar, to reply you, I would ask a question too: why did Dunga play Rafael Sobis instead of Pato ??

Are you sure he's got Portuguese citizenship? I've never heard anything of it. True he played for Porto once, but only for less than a year. As far as I know he doesn't have an EU-passport and so can't be bought in January, as we already bought two Non-EUs (Sheva and Viudez). Unless of course we sell Sheva to Madrid :whie:
Anyway, I often wonder why you (almost) never hear of Brazilian players who carry a Portuguese passport. It's always Italian passports. I guess there's a difference between the Portuguese and Italian rules on recieving citizenship?

I don't know if you already know about number of non-EU players that can be signed in one season for Serie A club, GeoTav. Since this season a club in Serie A can buy or take two non-EU players, not only one player like before.
So, Viudez took one non-EU spot and Sheva the other one (loan or permanent move).
With respect to your question, I do think that Dunga didn't play Pato and choosed Sobis instead because Pato was not fit (not in-shape) in that time and Sobis was better. A couple of weeks later (after Olympic) Leonardo gave advices to Pato to take the training more seriously (or something like that) and from what I understand about his saying is that Pato didn't train like what Carlo Ancelotti expect from his players or what italian big team's coach expect from his players in the training.
Yes I know for the 2 non EU purchases now possible in Italy, but this way, there is a problem !!
Cardaccio is a non-EU player ?
Viudez too ?
And Sheva too ?
That's 3 in one single season, not allowed, so Sheva mustn't be counted in it, OR Cardaccio has an European passport hidden somewhere ??

Anyway, let's speak about that somewhere else LOL

I thought France vs Uruguay are playing tonight. :D
I watched the last 20-25 minutes of Germany vs Italy (U-21). Italy played poorly I have to say. No link between defence and forward. Santracoce played also there and he played well IMO. Paloschi and Di Gennaro also had some minutes but it's too little time for them to show what they can do and it's hard for them to play in a team who was playing badly.

This group started like this and will not have any changes in January. We will go forward with these players until the end of the season, and the season is very long. Sheva is in a good condition, he's played well and he's growing. The striker department, aside from Borriello, is without injuries. Sheva really wants to play, he's like Ronaldinho two months ago."

Before wanting new AM or midfielders with an offensive vocation, let's clear the Gourcuff question !!
Let's not forget he will probably come back, so no need to buy Diego or Elano or anyone else (even if these players are great or at least very good).

with the wages and Man City are willing to offer its nearly impossible, and considering they are working on the long term and trying to buy best of the best its becoming even more impossible to buy players from them(unless they are not needed ofcourse :D)..
but hey, we might buy him when he's 34+ y.o :guw:

In a way, I am liking Milan current form of conceding goals in games which we could have won instead of getting a tie.
This way, the Galli and Berlu will really look into getting a defender during the Winder Mercato. I really think this is now or never for Zapata as Udinese is doing well without him. Another striker would be nice too as Pippo, as much as I love him, he is really showing signs of his age. And I really don't want Carlo to over use Borreillo and Pato, since if they are hurt we will end up with Sheva!!!!!!!!!!!!
TO me, a CB and a striker for winter are a must for us if we want to win the title this year.
From goal.com: Galliani also had some words on Milan and he has rubbished reports that they are on the hunt for a defender. In fact, the bald-headed chief has slammed the door shut on the January transfer market altogther.
"Defenders? No we will not be signing any defenders. We are well covered in that department," added the chief.
"We will try to recover Alessandro Nesta and I can assure you that we will not be moving on the transfer market, incoming or outgoing."
While anything that comes from the mouth of Uncle Fester is by definition NOT legally binding, that first sentence sure is a kick in the you-know-what!

In other news:
"Milan Ready To Offer Gallas An Arsenal Exit
No captaincy, no faith from the coach, no support from the fans but it's no problem as the Italians are ready to revive the Frenchman's career.
Milan are ready to make a January swoop for underfire Arsenal defender William Gallas.
The Frenchman's recent troubles after his sensational claims regarding the club have worsened and losing the captaincy has led to rife speculation that he wants nothing to do with the club.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the former Olympique Marseille man is on the brink and Milan are ready to rescue him and his stuttering career.
Arsene Wenger has stated the player still has a future at the Emirates but that may not be for too much longer if the Italians move and shake.
Gallas earns around €4 million at the north London club and his contract runs until 2011. The Rossoneri would have no problem in meeting the players wage demands and their good relationship with Arsenal following the deals for Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos could get the ball rolling.
A team of Milan officials have been sent to London and it is believed they are already locked in talks to try and speed up the deal.
The Italian club need a strong defender at the back. The growing uncertainty with Alessandro Nesta's injury has caused some concern, but on Monday club vice president Adriano Galliani denied that any player would come in or go out during the winter transfer window.
"There will be no transfers, incoming or outgoing," insisted Galliani.
Nevertheless, sporting director Ariedo Braida is trying to find a way so Gallas jumps ship and follow his former teammates to San Siro."
I'd rather have young Senderos here permanently than bring in a 31 y.o. Arsenal reject (which says a lot). In fact I'd rather have us use Ambrosini in defence, than Gallas (which really says a lot).

A Pato-Ramos Exchange deal....not sure about this and it seems unlikely, although the article does mention towards the end that Galliani could launch a bid for Adrian Mutu!!
To sacrifice Pato and end up with both Ramos and Mutu would be extremely hard to resist but its all rumours and you know the credability of goal.com!!
1. It's goal.crap
2. You don't need to think an option like that. You can find player like Ramos pretty easily and also trasnferable but not player like Pato. Milan won't change their importan player with other player. There are DCs in Serie A that are transferable like Zapata, Santacroce, Mexes etc.
The Gallas story shouldn't be a surprise to anyone here. We've been linked with him for many years and now it's all gone wrong for him at Arsenal, we were an obvious target for this rumour. When you factor in our recent transfers of 2 Arsenal players, we need a defender and that he's over 30, it was obvious this would happen.
A season or 2 ago i was saying we should have got Gallas. However, he seems to have a mentality problem and i think he'd be quite disruptive, not the sort we need no matter how brutal he can be on the pitch.
If rumours of Thiago Silva wanting to join us are true, then it would be better to spend the money on the Brazilian, his wages would certainly be cheaper.
Thinking about it though, we may ask to take Gallas on loan. It would give Arsenal time to regroup without his influence and would allow us a chance to see how he'd cope with a change of scenery. Plus of course, it wouldn't cost us a transfer fee.
A slight mention must go to these Ramos rumours, they just don't seem to go away!
Milan definitively needs one more CB. Thiuago Silva is a free player and can join us in the summer when we send Senderos back to Arsenal. And Maldini will retire also, as well as Favalli. But now, in WINTER, we'll need one player in back line...I dont know who could it be: Zapata, Gallas ( GREAT player ) or whoever. Or they know for sure Nesta will be ok so we dont need a player at the back...we cant tell that for sure.
But whatever player we buy, as long as our team plays coward football and Carlo keeps to introduce Emerson and play players that he likes and not that are best for the team at that moment, not even Pele can help us win scudetto. Lecce and Torino, both lost by the coach.

In the report on Gallas In Channel 4 it has been writen that Milan will try to buy Diego Godin from Villarreal.
How good is he?
Gallas is useless to us ... he makes mistakes since 1 year (less than Kaladze but still too much mistakes for a CD), he's not a natural leader, and like everybody knows now, he can cause troubles in a team like he did in Arsenal (there already was a problem in French NT if I remember).
What I think strange and funny is when he got number 10 in Arsenal. What did he think he is? Number 10 for a CD? :)

Even if, God forbid, Nesta retires next summer, I'd rather continue with Favalli if I have to choose one among Gallas and Favagol. At least, Favagol accepts a defeat gracefully.

FYI Thiago Silva is fast. :D
A CB to cover for Senderos needs to be fast as Suzperman. And Gallas is not a bad player, he plays with kids at the back line in Arsenal!! He is an excellent player that finds himself coordinating kids! Put him with Zamnbrotta and NEsta and you'll see...

Gallas is a decent player, but he is not among the world's topest few at that position.since nesta endlessly harassed by back injury,It's time for us to find a replacement, a class and legend potentialist,I definitely see that in zapata, santacrocche, even mexes and tiago silva.

For once i hope Galliani's words are true. He said we wouldn't go for Gallas and i don't think we should, he could do more damage than good despite his quality when he's totally happy.
I'd rather see us spend any money on players who want to come here with something to prove and no egos, i.e. Silva or Ivanovic.
The stories of us selling Kaka are starting up again and for once i think there might be some truth in them. To me he doesn't seem happy and he's been more vocal than usual about going to another league, i think him moving is more of a possibility than it ever has been before. Though i don't think i'd trust Galliani to spend the money we get from him wisely!
Just curious.. beside striker or midfielder are there any players who gets (or was wearing) number 10 or 9 for their jerseys?
Khalid Boulharouz ----> CB of chelsea used to wear no.9
Other unusual shirt numbers :
Hicham Zerouali was allowed to wear the number 0 for Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen after the fans nicknamed him "Zero".
Though it is traditionally the goalkeeper's number, outfield players have occasionally worn the number 1 for their clubs, including Charlton Athletic's Stuart Balmer in the 1990s[13], Partizan Belgrade's Simon Vukčević in 2004-05
Jesús Arellano, when playing for Club de Futbol Monterrey wore the number 400 in 1996 to celebrate the city's 400th anniversary.
In 2003, FC Porto goalkeeper Vítor Baía became the first player to wear 99 in the final of a major European competition.
Brazilian EC Goiás goalkeeper Harley wore number 400 in a single match to celebrate his 400th match for the team.
Parma goalkeeper, Luca Bucci wears the number 5 shirt.
James Beattie and Steven Gerrard both wore 08 instead of their usual 8 in the Merseyside derby in March 2006 to promote the 08 Ambassadors Programme, which they both are signed up to, to signify Liverpool becoming the European capital of culture in 2008.
Tugay Kerimoglu wore the number 94 on his 94th and final cap for Turkey against Brazil in 2007.
Iván Zamorano was allowed to use the number 1+8 in Inter Milan because the number 9 was being used.
Juan Pablo Sorín was allowed to use the number 1+2 for Villareal because the number 3 was taken. This was only used rarely.
Rubén Sosa is known for using the number 100 because of the 100th Anniversary of Club Nacional de Football on 14th May 1999.
During his record-breaking 618th game for São Paulo FC, Rogério Ceni wore the number 618 (written with a red bold on the "1").
Brazilian goalkeeper Gilmar was given number 3 during the 1958 FIFA World Cup
Derek Riordan on return to former club Hibernian was given squad number 01, which is 10 in reverse. Number 10 had already been taken by Colin Nish.
Anybody knows what Galli & Berlu reverted to Calderon when he asked about Pato ??? Real always wanted our superstars....first they enquired abt paolo when he was fantabulous.....then Kaka.....now Pato !!!!!!!
Maldini our hero of the past (still is & ever will be)
Kaka is our present
Pato is our future....damn it...!!!!!!!!
I don't know, jeung. I only noticed it when Gallas got number 10 in Arsenal. Pure strange and of course funny. :D
From what I've read, the number was free after Bergkamp retired. The other players were somehow felt that wearing such a sacred number especially after the departure of the club's legend was quite a burden, so they passed the option. Meanwhile Gallas arrived, and thought that wearing the number 10 wouldn't bring as much pressure to a defender like him as it would have given a striker. So he took it
If Milan sells Kaka' to finance a purchase of 2 defenders Im gonna be really sick and I'll probably lie in bed for two days... then I'll sit in my car and in about 10 hours im in Milanello... After that I will show middle finger to Galliani or Berlusconi and I will not support Milan for that season. That is a promise. Selling players to finance new signings ( and not splashing all the cash at all! like in Sheva's case ) is disgusting for a man like Berlusconi.
Kaka' is a simbol, already a legend. And we want to sell him for money? How can replace him? Dinho cant as he cant play trequartista. Whoi? Lavezzi? Pato? I dont know. But old Milan would never sell Kaka'. I hope that is all just a lie and Ricky will stay in Miulan. We are not Juve to sell a player like Zidane!
Milan should be able to sell players like Seedorf, even Pirlo ( dead serious!), $heva, Oddo etc. And buy players like Gourcuff ( back for loan ), one forward, one CB and one fullback... and for that we need to sell our best player...? shamefull.
Gourcuff, Cigarini, D'Agostino, Aquilani, Montolivoi, Giovinco(!), Santacroce, Zapata, Frey, Benzema, Huntelaar, Pato...those are player Milan needs to rely on ( to add two or three young palyers, not more. ). This sheme with $heva, ANCELOTTI, Emerson, Fvalli...well you all know.
Kaka has been linked with almost every EPL team and every Team in the world, its this time its not different....
unless concrete offers come to Milan and Kaka actually does leave for Man ****ty, its all bollocks.
PS: Ancellotti doesnt play Mrki, he quit like 10 years ago, remember? :guw:
The only problem is that Kaka doesn't seem to deny these rumours unlike he used to. i know he said he wanted to retire at Milan but things can change. Hope he gets back to his best soon.
He has been giving diplomatic answers for a while now...saying that he'll only leave when Milan's goals and his do not coincide anymore...i.e. when the team doesn't want to be competitive anymore. I think he's just watching his back so if he does leave, he won't get a $heva-like response from the fans.
That being said, we shouldn't have to sell Kaka to finance anything...how about we stop dishing out mega contracts to all and sundry...having back-up players earning 2-3 million a year is crazy. Add to that the players who earn 4 million for 8 good games per year...and we have a bit of a problem.

I don't think Kaka' will leave, but the problem is much deeper. To be honest, his behaviour has completely dismayed me. He is turning out to be a complete hypocritical, two-faced media darling. A few months ago he was Rossonero per vita; now he is considering playing in England. Quite frankly, the way he is approaching this in the media is not entirely dissimilar to how the fickle C. Ronaldo did last summer.
There is a tendency to give Kaka' undue allowance because of his generally positive demeanour. With all that said, in my opinion, Kaka' will stay at Milan until at least 2012. However, this discussion will be completely academic. In a few years, the depraved Premiership will whore itself to the best bidder. Arab sheiks and others with tenuous or no links to old Blighty will purchase teams and pay a king's ransom for the best players. Italy and Spain will be left to rue what could have been. Honestly, after Calciopoli, deaths, and the money riven Premiership, what is left of this sport? It is increasingly looking grotesque, and I am watching less and less. Today we can hold on to Kaka', but tomorrow belongs to the Premiership, not because of fundamental changes at the grassroots level, but because of its appeal as a product.
It's true ... what a shame from a business man not to spend all his money in a football team when it's a worldwide economical crisis and when he has to care about it for his country ??
Please man dont be ridiculous. You know I thought about 45mln that Milan got for $heva and didnt spend tzhem but bought Oliveira for 16mln+Vogel... Which means - Milan didnt invest all the moiney from sold player.
Politics of Italia and economical crisis dont have anything to do with Berlusconi being cheep on $heva's transfer ( or rather after it ). Do not make sarcastic drama over something I didnt said, think first please.
World economical crisis will not be solved in serie a mercato. And about Silvio caring for Italy...well...lets just leave it that way...
lets look at it this way:
Milan got lets say 45 million, ok(but they actually got less), and they didnt spend it all on transfers true, but before you talk Mrki, you should take into account that the club has to spend money on various things, such as Salaries, spend at the Stadium, taxes, bonuses, etc etc..
also, i believe Oliveira was considered a talent and thus he was bought by Milan...
Look at the facts Mrki, before you talk
Look at the facts Mrki, before you talk
That will be the day!! :nana:
If Milan sells Kaka' to finance a purchase of 2 defenders [...] Selling players to finance new signings ( and not splashing all the cash at all! like in Sheva's case ) is disgusting for a man like Berlusconi.
Do we speak about Sheva or Kaka' ? If it's about Sheva, I don't see the need of speaking about that here, it's winter mercato, Sheva was sold in 2006 (or 2005 ? I'm in trouble with dates).
World economical crisis will not be solved in serie a mercato
You make me laugh !! So a very important economical sector like football won't be touched by a crisis that touches each sector of economy in the world ?? Telling that is not very serious, I was ironical in my last message (like you noticed well) but telling what I quoted is just ... umh I just hope you were ironical too !!
Just curious.. beside striker or midfielder are there any players who gets (or was wearing) number 10 or 9 for their jerseys?
i remember few seasos ago a goalkeeper from chievo i think it is lupatelli used to wear number 10, how about that hahahahha
Economical crisis was not present in the summer when we sold $heva. Oliveira was never considered a big talent, he was just a very good and not ayoung player. We bought him for huge ammount of money and he was injured and didnt play for whole year before he came to Milan and never played in serie a before... Those are the facts people, maybe you need to check it. And we'll see how the crisis will influence money of Silvio Berlusconi and Massimo Moratti, just wait and see.
El Fre, cheers to you too man. :bri:
Geo Tav, I will quote myseld even if that is not a manner when righting: " Economical crisis will not be SOLVED in mercato..." I didnt say economical crisis will not touch clubs, but I said Berlusconi can pay for his players normally and still lead the country from the crisis...as his money has nothing to do with Italy ( its his personal cash or whatever he has...oil, tv etc.) anymore. Just like Abramovic's with Russia etc. We talked about money Milan earned from $heva and so on... never mind, no hard feelings.
but I said Berlusconi can pay for his players normally and still lead the country from the crisis...as his money has nothing to do with Italy ( its his personal cash or whatever he has...oil, tv etc.) anymore. Just like Abramovic's with Russia etc.
Happy that you use this example !! Thanks !!
Did you hear that Chelsea would have to fire 30% (or 50%, don't remember) of its staff because of the problems that Abramovic has with the economical crisis ... and also the reports that Chelsea would have to sell some players to buy others !!
European billionares (umh people having billions of dollars or euros I mean) have these billions because they own firms, these firms are touched by this crisis, so these people are touched too, and so the ones who own football clubs won't spend a lot I think in the next mercatos ... and especially Berlusconi who has a country to manage, of course it's not HIS money, but do you think that Italian people would be happy if their president spend 30M or more for a football player while Italian people have economical problems ?
Saying "it's his money, he does what he wants" is forgetting context ... Milan will try to spend its own money, so they will have to sell one or two players (Seedorf ? lol) to take new ones, Berlusconi won't help that much there I think, or he will help but not massively ...

I think the moment that Berlu becomes PM of Italy is a statement that Milan is no longer his showoff toy like it used to be. I know we spend huge money on transfer this past summer, but when u put into how much we also made from players' sale, Milan only spent about 10Mil or so, which is alot less than the Spurs. I know for a fact that if Milan actually made it to CL this year, Berlu will probably won't even spend half of that as Galli will come out and say that we are World Champions and now we are in CL....
I think as Milan fans, we really have to accept the fact that Milan will not be signing the greatest players at their prime like before, always signing old and useless players like Emerson(b/c they are cheap but with a huge wages), and always try to squeeze into the top 4. Then once in a few years, we will be proud of being CL champs, but thats about it. We all should be happy that Milan is not selling Kaka to finance transfer.
I really hope I am wrong, but sofar I am not.
The thing is, I remember stating it here way before the Dinho's signing, that Berlu, Galli and co will come out and sign some superstar and we all will be happy and thinks they are the best, but deep down inside that superstar will not solve all our problems.....
For Winter transfer, I just some, some teams can take Emerson, Seedorf, Favalli and Kaladaze away, return Sheva and Sanderous, and let Maldini retire.
do you guys think a straight swap between pirlo and cigarini would be possible? ambrosini + cash for veloso. 2 defenders in thiago silva(more likely to arrive) and santacrocce or zapata or someone. chuck out kaladze and maldini retires. also get rid of seedorf. i dont care what any of these players have done for us. they dont show any loyalty and respect towards us or the team. if they arent performing and giving their all just lets get rid of them.
yesterdays match was just terrible. milan should win. we should win if the referee gives every decision against us, if the opposition keeps fouling our players and plays negatively. we should win if its raining or its under the hot sun. WE ARE AC MILAN. WE WIN. WE PLAY GOOD FOOTBALL.
if kaka wants to go play in epl let him go there and rot and may his child learn english and do whatever. this is unacceptable. get rid of emerson, senderos, favali. i dont care if we lose the scudetto. i dont want to see our players move around like slow headless chickens. without purpose, desire, passion or any sort of imagination, thought and tactics.
why crap old players with huge wages. why not unproven young players. at least there will be some hope. there are more than enough good young players who really want to play for us. they'll be coming here because they want to. there are loads of players who have actually expressed their interest in coming here. who would be proud to be a part of milan.
anybody can confirm this:
MILAN, Contacts with Wenger
30.11.2008 17.28 by Marco Gori
According to the Sunday Mirror, AC Milan have contacted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. The english paper substains that the french manager is intentionned to quit the Gunners and Milan, as well as PSG, are ready to sign him.

hahaha. can you imagine milan under wenger? hahaha. that will be the day! milan under wenger. hahaha. oh boy. guess who'll be on their way out? EVERYONE! the only player we'll have left from the current setup will be pato, kaka, ronaldinho and gourcuff. hehe. i actually quite like the sound of it. oh. wait. we'll get rid of kaka even. his wages are too high.

Wenger is not the answer for Milan, Capello is, too bad we have to wait till after 2010.
capello failed in his second spell with us, so I doubt that he will succeed in his third
If I could choose, I would pick Marcello Lippi

Kaká isn't going anywhere, I'm quite sure of that. If he leaves it'll be for a fee so high that only Man City could and would pay it - and I for one can't see Kaká pulling on a sky blue shirt.
If we wanted to a straight Pirlo-Cigarini swap would be possible. But there's something else it would also be...Madness! I have my concerns about Pirlo's role at Milan now that Dinho is also in the team (there's an editorial about just that at goal.com), but still - it wouldn't make sense to swap an absolutely world class player ('cause that's what Pirlo is) for a fairly unproven youngster like Cigarini. Pirlo probably shouldn't start when Dinho and Kaká do and we play with two strikers (Pato supporting Borriello) - which is my dream scenario - and then two defensive midfielders behind. But Pirlo is a unique sort of player (or at least the best of his kind) and we should be pleased to have him here. The thing is with Ronaldinho here, we have enough creativity, or at least we should have - to give Pirlo the rest he hasn't gotten in years. My concern is that Ancelotti will insist on playing Pirlo all the time, in which case we can probably expect to see the same Pirlo we have in the last several months, tired physically and mentally.
i'm not saying i want kaka to go. i dont. and if anything pirlo on form(or otherwise) is my most favourite player in the entire world. and i'm serious. he's a genius. i have the utmost respect for him. i was over reaacting and i'll concede that. but i do think that at least seedorf has to go. we cant have so many big headed players that you have to play in every game who just walk about and play like they own the spot in the starting 11. my concern is also that carlo is putting a few individuals who already have bloated egos ahead of the team and promoting this kind of attitude blatantly. This is not good for our team. We are also going to lose Maldini who is a father figure and i think is instrumental in keeping the team together.
And this might be a bombshell but i do also think that one of our 2nd biggest problems this season has been DMs. Even with 5 we cannot protect our defence properly. They are slow or tired or injured or just not motivated or just past it.
also we need a younger AM, someone who wants to prove himself. Again, because he wont think he owns a place in the team, he can be benched when required and will give his all when he comes on to replace kaka or r80. playing pirlo, seedorf, r80, kaka in one team is too much. especially if none of them are on form on the day. We already have Gourcuff. We can easily rotate with the number of games we play for each of 3 AMs to play every 7 or 10 days.
i really want milan playing 4-2-2-2 as you said. I completely agree that it is the way forward. That is also the formation i play in FIFA 0x although its not like that matters. 2 good energetic DMs who cover the pitch and can pass when called for. Flamini and Gattuso definitely can. So can Ambrosini.
2 AMs playing slightly wide. running and passing and taking shots.
2 strikers. 1 strong fox in the box. 1 strong striker who can hold the ball and create chances and run at defences.
2 world class CBs. Priority number 1. 2 good backups. We already have bonera and we can keep kaladze for the backup role. I'm not counting Nesta.
3 super fullbacks. WE already have Zambrotta, Jankulovski. Antonini is i think an excellent backup.
And believe it or not i want a new CM/DM by summer. Velosso and Cigarini are attainable.
Madrid has officially signed Klass-Jan Huntelaar.
Bye bye Huntelaar:kap::(:(:(
Don't be upset! There is still Ronaldo! Yes, the real Ronaldo AND FREE TRANSFER!
Is Milan out for Agger as a replacement for Nesta?
Pirlo probably shouldn't start when Dinho and Kaká do and we play with two strikers (Pato supporting Borriello) - which is my dream scenario - and then two defensive midfielders behind. I agree about the formation, the 4222 would be perfect. But it is impossible to play Pirlo in that one.
He's a defensive midfielder who can't defend.
Sell Pirlo and Mr. Injury Prone Borriello, bring back Gourcuff, and buy 2 DCs and a strong striker.
I like pirlo as much as you guys, but i think his time at milan should end.
Nah, according to people in here Guntelaar is not good enough for us, so wasnt Torres...boriello is better - a man that was never an excellent forward, and never will be.
Milan needs to invest in young players like cigarini, Aquilani, Gourcuff etc. Santacroce, Clichy... HUNTELAAR.
Wenger is a cvoach that needs the players he wants to win something. In Arsenal he is working the impossible job -trying to win EPL with kids! In Milan I cant even imagine what would he do with Galliani bringing him players Berlusconi wants.
well, considering you want immediate success, season in season out, i cant see Milan bringing youth players and actually making them play at an unproven level, like Hunterlaar... i think he's a great player but will he really succeed in Real? maybe he will, but then again, maybe he wont.
if Milan was to invest in young players like Assanal then i wont even bother going to Milan forums and reading your awful comments about how awful those youngsters were.
so please, be reasonable for heaven's sake
^^ Just for your information...Huntelaar is actually 25 and when will we stop rating people solely by age but rather consider their output as well? If a 16 year old kid is ripping up the Spanish league or the EPL or Serie A...wouldn't you buy him?

I know Huntelaar, i like him, and I think he's a great goal scorer, but as we've seen, not many players actually can score when playing for Milan, or when playing for a "big club"... Van Der Vaart had played in Germany for couple of years before going to Real, Ruud played for United and Robben played for Chelsea before Real, and they proved to be great players
you'll say Sneijder made it directly to Real, true, but thats due to the fact thats he's a great player...
Hunterlaar on the other hand has been scoring goals vs team that are not as good as Barca, or Sevilla, Valencia etc etc
and I think that Hunterlaar would struggle in Serie A due to the fact that its pretty defensive and he's not the kind of players that will dribble past defenders with ease ;)
dont get me wrong, I would have liked to have Huntelaar in Milan, but imo, Borriello --when not injured-- is a way better player than him!
I really hope that Hunter would make it in the Real and become one of the best, although, i'll probably get abused over this post if he does :D
Blog: Different Klaas
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is on his way to Real Madrid, but Richard Godden is left wondering why no Italian clubs pursued the signature of the next big thing in European football
There are few strikers in Europe who are, excuse the pun, as classy in front of goal as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. So it came as no surprise to learn that Real Madrid will splash out £17m on the Ajax goal-getter in the January transfer window. The only shock is that there wasn’t more interest from the peninsula.
Huntelaar’s record in every form of football he has played in is unbelievable. Don’t take my word for it, just take a look at the stats – 34 goals in 46 Eredivisie appearances for Heerenveen, 76 goals in 92 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax, 18 goals in 22 appearances for Holland Under-21s and 10 goals in 18 senior international appearances.
At the age of 25, it’s not like Huntelaar is an unknown quantity. And having taken so long to make the step-up to a genuine European giant – with all due respect to Ajax, they no longer fall into that category – it’s unlikely he will be overawed by that prospect in the same manner as a younger player might do.
For the fee involved, it seems as though the ace marksman would have been an ideal signing for Milan, who will soon be on the look-out for a goal poacher once Pippo Inzaghi decides to hang up his boots.
Huntelaar was the perfect choice to carry on the tradition of Holland’s greatest players donning the legendary red and black shirt, continuing the scoring legacy of the great Marco Van Basten.
However, I think that Klaas-Jan would have been even more suited to a switch to the blue and black half of San Siro, where Inter seem to be dying out for someone to be a scrappy scorer. At the moment, the Nerazzurri are once again relying on super sub Julio Cruz to do this job, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic seemingly only capable of the sublime.
The signing of Huntelaar by either one of these clubs would have shown the rest of the world that Serie A is a League which is on the up, rather than – as the English Press would have us believe – on a downward slope.
Then again, for every success story from the Eredivisie – such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy – there is always a Mateja Kezman. Only time will tell which category Huntelaar falls into – it’s just a shame calcio lovers won’t have front-row seats…
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/blogs/rg44.html
That should dispel the myth that he only scores against crap teams...he's done it at every level of football there is. Pippo doesn't dribble and he does fine in Serie A...so does Trezeguet and other goal poachers. With VdV as AM, Huntelaar is 180% guaranteed to score plenty goals. Let's wait and see :)

How is "the myth that he only scores against crap teams" dispelled? Those stats don't show the caliber of teams he's scored against. The only good national teams he's scored against are Croatia and Romania (who are good-not-great sides) the others are countries like Iceland and Austria. And I'm not sure how many of his goals in the Eredivisie are against PSV, Feyenoord and such and how many came against Willem II, De Graafschap and Roda etc.
I'm not his biggest fan, but I'm sure he'll do better than Kezman, and Kuijt for that matter. But it's far from certain he'll do as well as RVN, not to speak the great MVB. But as you said: Let's wait and see...
Ace, Im not gonna even talk further with a man that sees Boriello as a better striker then huntelaar...the "young" Huntelaar ( that is 25 ). torres also wasnt good enough for 80% of eople in here.
And further more, I didnt suggest Milan plays with kids like Arsenal, just to add 3-4 yunger players. Players like Aquilani, Montolivo, Cigarini, Huntelaar, Santacroce, Hamsik, are not inexperienced and not kids, but play for their NT's and are well known in whole football world....but obviously not by you.
Ciao. dont read my comments please, you'll just get pissed off as Im unreasonable.
AND YES, Sneijder played well in Madrid right after Ajax as he is an excellent player, and so is huntelaar. So is Gourcuff and so is gilardino. But those people need a decent coach.
So who is worse? GIla or Ancelotti... um...
Why the hell are we so incredibly stuck up? You've all seen the kind of performances our strikers have put in. They aren't scoring against the big teams. They're definitely not scoring against the small team which they should. On what basis do we simply reject young talent and simply uphold our players with a closed shut mind when the results are right before our eyes. I wouldn't say boriello, pato or paloschi has a better record than huntelaar. They are clearly failing to score against opponents both weak and strong. Our midfield has been scoring an increasingly higher percentage of our goals. It is also obvious that he has more talent. Whatever makes you dismiss such talent automatically i'll never understand. And i do think a lot of our players like schevchenko, kaka, pirlo, gattuso had played for smaller teams and scored against smaller oppositions before coming in. What a coach or the management and us viewers need to see is the talent on display. In the case of players like Huntelaar etc it is all there to see. The rest can be sorted out by our coach. How long will we keep waiting for the right chap to come along?
The talent is out there. We must keep an open mind and recognise and nurture it. That's what football is all about. A chap playing in a small local team, getting identified for what he's good at and then making it big. We're becoming no different than the disgusting Real Madrid and are now definitely worse at it than most epl teams. All i'm saying is keep an open mind and don't just dismiss a player's talent and hard work and dedication away.

Exactly. It's terrible! Our coaching and training is obviously not upto the mark and neither are some of our players. We need to start calling black as black and white as white. No grays. We're just in denial and constantly hiding from the reality.

Our strikers don't score against either the big OR the small teams so Huntelaar would already be a step up in that regard. I still can't believe we didn't even attempt to get him...any striker with that sort of record is ridiculous to pass up. A ratio above 0.5 goals/game in every single competition is amazing. Then again Galliani thought Bori was better...

That's called "equilibre of the team".
Yes, what we have now in milan is a fine equilibrium.
From mathematics:
The stationary point of a dynamical system is often called an equilibrium.
From physics:
The state in which the sum of the forces, and torque, on each particle of the system is zero
From chemistry:
The state in which the concentrations of the reactants and products have no net change over time
From biology:
Theoretical state in which a population is not evolving
Some positive news for a change! Should Fabregas ever come to Italy he would choose Milan over the other top sides. Now i know his chances of coming to Italy are small, we all know he'll probably end up back in Spain at some point in his career, but right now i'll take any piece of positive news. A player of his quality saying he'd only join us can't be seen as anything else other than positive news :D
How good would a Flamini-Fabregas-Hamsik midfield be? Just think of that maturing over the next 5 years :guw:

You'll make me cry. Add Ramos to that as RB and Benzema along with Pato as ST. That would be sweet. :5guitar:
But seriously, Milan should go for Ramos this time around since he's shown interest and he's very unsettled at this club at this time and playing very bad because of the lack-of-RW situation over there. Go get him Fest.. :D
There were some reports that Wenger will move on from Arsenal and that Milan will bring him, with Carlo going to Madrid or wherever...
Then Fabregas would be a possible signing, but other then that I dont see it happening. Midfield consisting of Flamini-Rino-Fabregas with a world class coach would be unbeatable.
Some of the players Milan can use: Di Natale for example! Bringing Di Natale would be 10 times better solution then bringing Sheva back. A player that can play as a seconda punta great and is in a great shape for a two seasons, and plays for Italia NT. By my standards a great player.

I would rather spend 25mln on Santacroce then on a player that plays well defensively every 3rd game ( so far in his career...). Ramos is a srat, but for 30-35mln we can get a better defender then him.

think we have a Strasser in our youth team, dont we ?
must be a tech problem in the website
Yes there is a "young" Strasser, but he isn't from Luxembourg ?? lol
So 2 solutions:
- a new Ibrahim Ba in our team (but one who never played with us in the past)
- the website was hacked ?

Who said I wanted him now..? It's WAY too late now. I've been talking about signing Huntelaar for years now and I did say I would have preferred him over Borriello. I also said that I would have preferred that we didn't sign Dinho cuz then we'd have too many strikers fighting for one place. Not that Dinho isn't a great player, but he simply wasn't what we needed.
Now we're forced into playing a 4-3-2-1 and we don't have the personnel for it. We've needed a box to box creative midfielder for a while now and haven't got it...we could bring Gourcuff back to do that job but whether he'll play is another story.
Fabregas......:D:D:D:D:D That's all I have to say about him.
For me if Nesta can fully recover from his injury...then we don't need too much to solve our team's problems. A new CD...and bring back Gourcuff and actually play him, and let Seedorf go back to Ajax or the BPL or wherever he wants to go. He's always said that he wouldn't mind playing in England.
Abbiati; Zambro, Nesta, CD, Janku; Gattuso/Flamini,*Fabregas:D, Gourcuff; Kaka, Dinho; Pato
Subs: Dida, Kaladze, Bonera, Ambro, Pirlo, Borriello, Pippo(if he's still here)
*Just a fantasy of mine which probably won't happen...the more realistic thing is to probably bring Cigarini and have him play when Pirlo's not too effective (pretty often as of late...)

A thoughtful and funny post!
Perhaps at end of season if Arsenal is trophyless and out the top 4, Milan can swap Gourcuff plus cash for Fabregas.
And now that Timo Hildebrand has left Valencia, Milan should sign him to replace 35yo Kalac.
Good to see Sheva score against Lazio and hopefully boost his confidence.
The loss to Lazio should be a wakeup call to Ancelotti that he needs to get rid of Favalli and Emerson and bring in new replacements.
First new signing?

i wonder how much arsenal would want for Diaby?? I think he's pretty destructive but also has very good ability too.

I would prefer adebayor over huntelaar.Huntelaar is a combination of gila and pippo(more gila,I think),a finisher in the box.His score rate is quite impressive, but dutch league is not the top one yet.
Adebayor fits our current system , he is strong and skill enough against any top defenders to hold the ball and creat space for the whole team(which is very crucial for our skillful but little bit energyless midfield),his finish needs more work ,but still quite decent ;his score sheet in premier league is a proof.plus he hustles on the front constantly, helps ease pressure on our ageing and injury-plagued defence line.

This guy is 34 years old, come on now...
Torres is the latest player to say he nearly joined us, even if he didn't have much involvement and it was more meetings between the 2 clubs rather than with the player. The list of players we 'almost' signed is very impressive:
Buffon, Toni, Ibrahimovic, Torres, Ribery
not sure we actually made a bid for ribery but carlo wanted him for sure so that counts, plus it makes my list more impressive :D
Today we are linked with Bruno, another Brazilian goalkeeper. He's 23 and is at Flamengo where he's said to be making a big impact. Would he really be worth going for? The majority of Brazilian goalkeepers just aren't good enough, they make too many mistakes. There must surely be a better European keeper around, mainly so we don't waste a non-eu spot on a keeper and can use it for a defender or a position where it's needed ...

Nooo, baldy is our trademark :tong::tong::neww:
Adebayor is a twunt. Milan doesn't need twunts. And he misses a million chances before he converts one. His last season was overrated.. this season his true colours are coming out. He's average with a physical presence. Buy Crouch if you want that!

If says his we are not buying..that is a great news my friend, with this statement our transfer campaigning has officially started. He wants to make sure that everybody knows we are not desperate. However knowing our management I`m 10000% sure we will attempt to sign gallas. That even god cant argue with me:uhm::D:D
Berlusconi jr. always makes comments that are normal and are sounding like he really knows what Milan needs. He was against Ronaldinho we also must state :) But he was the one talking how Dida cannot go on like this, how Milan needs new defender, how Milan needs to rejuvenate the squad etc. Silvio said his son will take his place in Milan, lets hope so. He also looks scary :)
The player, as I can see we are talking about Arsenal much, I would like to see is Clichy. Perfect modern fullback with the abbility to defend as well as to play forward. With already being in France NT. But I dont see Arsenal sellng him. Reminds me a lot of Lizarazu, but younger.
And I would kill for Lizarazu in Marek's place right now :)
About Huntelaar more, I remember CLEARLY how he said his idol in Inzaghi and how he dreams of playing with him...2 years ago.
The forward that is now open for next summer is just one really - Benzema. That is like our last chance to sign decent forward to play and really score 20 goals per season ( and lets not start the theme " he never played in italy...")
But my dream is this: Cigarini, Aquilani, Santacroce, Benzema and Chichy. :) We have Pirlo to sell, mnoney will be here :)

I agree, its unrespectfull for a man who has done so much for Milan :) But I get pretty pist at him for his mistakes as a coach, and I shouldnt make such statements like that. I respect him as a man and for what he did as a footballer, but I do believe he is a very mediocre coach with little ideas, at least not good enough to coach a team like Milan.

you can judge his worth by demand for his services... how many clubs have expressed an interest in him??? He plays well at Milan because i think Carlo designed the team around his abilities and disabilities... so many defensive midfieelders to compensate for his lack of pace in getting back... Pirlo is a Milan player and should not be sold...one of my fav.
Sell Pirlo and get Fabregas, I don't mind but selling Pirlo and get nothing or worse player just forget it. Galliani co. is still famous for me to bring player that worse than the substituted player. :)

his not a mediocre coach...his only problem is that his "shy" and too quiet, He lets berlu and Galliani to do all the work, that in can be called also avoiding more responsibilities which is another problem itself. i do blame him for this, but on the other hand the guy wants to keep his job..who could blame him for that, he could go on and give ultimatum to Berlu...either I do my job, and u give me x and y players or i leave...the last will happen. U do not play games with enormous ego like Berlusconi`s. Its all the way his word.
In these circumstances u are left with a bad shaped team, added plus two major reinforcments in the shape of Dinho and Sheva...and the masterpiece Senderos.. U miss nesta, pirlo, borriello...bad shaped kaka, bad shaped Sheva, not in form Dinho(first 4-5 games)
What did u except really??? cmon guys be more objective and realistic...on top of that you know we play better in the second part of the season...it has always been like this since carlo joined...why this year should be any different. Hus! Pake sayang2an, ntar yg lain cemburu. :D
I just want to be realistic. Pirlo is not Pirlo like we knew before. His top performance was in 2006/07 (World Cup for Italy and CL for Milan). Since that time his performance is declining. I also look at his age, he is 29 years old, there could be only 2-3 years of him that Milan can use. I doubt Pirlo have the same spirit like Gattuso has to get back to the top performance. I see Pirlo now as a player that is already very satisfied with what all he has achieved or a player who needs new challange, challange that he can get in a new club.
Fabregas, in my opinion, is not star in the making. He is already a mature and experienced player. He has been playing regularly in Premiership for four years (this years is his fifth year) with more than 100 games. If he moves to Milan, I doubt Carlo will bench him even Pirlo is still playing for Milan. Carlo will play him infront of Seedorf, not like Gourcuff's case.
The advantage for Milan is that (news or gossips I forget :D) he admirers Milan. So, this could be the way to launch a bid for Arsenal (to buy Fabregas).
Above all, I do think that Milan, for next year, should rejuvenate their players' spirit by selling some players (Pirlo, Jankulovski, Sheva and especially Seedorf) and introducing new-and-motivated players if Milan still want to compete in the high level in the coming years.
LOL ..:D I thought that you against Cesc Fabregas moving to Milan. I misunderstood from read your first post. But I think it's still hard to get him here. He raised and "found" by Wenger and not a secret anymore that he adores Wenger too. It's a bit hard but impossible is nothing ^^

If Moggi could bring Viera to Turin why Galliani can't do the same thing to Fabregas? But the key of course is on Fabregas itself. If he wants to move then it shouldn't be so hard to get him but if he has no intension to leave Arsenal, Milan can't do anything.

True, but he is out of ideas. we need new things. and i really doubt anchelotti can work with youngsters. that what we need, we need ppl that run and that can be young and hell with experience execuse i dont wanna hear it anymore. u cant have 10 experienced players and a young player that can run 90 mins we need a mix, a mix means 5 experience and 6 machines

Vieira was at near of his peak performance, he's declining. Fabregas, well he's not even close to his peak performance yet so there is no way arsenal will let him go.
Buy ramos at the expense of PATO.........No way !!!!!
Anybody can comment on Simon Kjaer....the young defender from Palermo
Heard that Milan is interested......How good is he?? I've never seen him play for the sicilians....
While some people asked for our club to spend cash, cash and even more cash last summer and now say that we didn't spend and that it is awful from a club like us etc, we can notice that our club seems not to have any credit, and so, isn't really touched (for moment) by the economical crisis.
The big loosers of this crisis could be some of the Spanish clubs (Valencia ... big trouble) and some clubs in England !!
These clubs will have to sell their players, even if there are reports that banks want to get back their money quickly, so at the start of 2009 (winter mercato), I'm pretty sure that these clubs will keep their players until the end of the season, but then, they will have no choice: sell or die.

Ancelotti is a MILLIONARE!! Come on...its not like he is trying to keep his job so he is not hungry and can take care of his family. Carlo Ancelotti is a simply coward and sucks up to Silvio and does whatever him and Galliani say. That is the reason why Milan sacked Cappello second time and why Milan never wanted Mourinho.

What worries me is that he said that he hasnt talk to Carlo since he left, that should change...But I think immediately after the break we will start negotiating a new contract with Yoan, we are smart enough to see that we need to get him back where he belongs.

wenger would leave if he lost fabregas. He captained cesc to keep him, and if im correct he's only player that they broke there wage structure for.....Thats his team and he knows it. Adebayor? replaceable... Anyway cesc will move 1 day, i just dont think itll be this summer....
keep in mind arsenal r in the best financial shape of any epl club
I don't know if Wenger gave captaincy to Cesc to keep Cesc play for Arsenal. Wenger should have given it to Cesc than to Gallas because in that time the news about Fabregas to Madrid was so strong.
About replacable or not, this is an old story from Arsenal. In the past the media said that Emmanuel Petit was half of Arsenal's power in that time but he still could go and Arsenal still could win thropies. The same case applied to Vieira. Everybody was talking that Wenger wouldn't sell Vieira but he still went from Arsenal (with pretty cheap price).
I do think, for Wenger nothing is irreplacble. Wenger is the one who make them good/great players and Wenger still can find new start after they went out from Arsenal. The interesting thing, many of them seems nothing without Wenger. :D
I don't think Arsenal are in best financial shape but I also don't think that they are bangkrupt. But they have to save their money for their new stadium. And the most important thing is that Arsenal have no attractiveness like european big clubs. Star from Arsenal can go to Milan, Juve, Madrid etc but not vice versa. Arsenal have their pride but not like european big clubs have.
Fabregas will leave, itsjust the matter of time. Year or two most. Arsenal cant keep him.

well yes but they are ran well financially. no debt and the new stadium is putting them in position to compete financially w/ the heavyweights of europe. The youth policy was adopted to keep spending low when the stadium was being built.
I can try and dig up an article i read in forbes, but they ran a profit which is rare. And continue to because they dont spend.
fabergas.... he'll leave 1 day. i don disagree with you.... and going to england at such a young age + interviews ive heard, he is type of player who'd welcome challenge of italy as opposed to wanting just to go to spain. But i really dont see it happening for a couple years minimum
But Cesc has already said he wants to move to Barca one day. I doubt he'll take the long way to Spain through Italy. Although there would be no place for him at FCB. Xavi and Iniesta are better than him.

Like mrki said Om Siregar.. as long as Wenger still their coach I think it's possible to get any players from them. Wenger is clearly not typically a coach who like to keep the players no matter how important them to club. He likes to score another brilliant young player and then sell it on the market after they did many to club. Sometimes I think this is the reason why Arsenal is struggled to compete in Europe. But for Cesc's case I think almost impossible to have him now.. but 2-3 years again.. I bet we are :)

Lucas is absolute crap. I mean absolutely crap. He's the last thing Milan needs.
at this present moment i would strongly advise that we dont call Non-Milan players crap... because it have been proven many times that these same players, who we (on this forum) claim are "no good" and are "not milan quality", often play in teams against AC Milan and make us look ordinary...

i completely agree.. that's what i said about adebayor but believe me, the place where i come from, Serie A is not telecasted on tv and La Liga is usually after midnight so i end up watching EPL games for my dose of football.. I've seen Lucas play quite a few times.. not even once in atleast 10 odd performances had he even come close to impressing me. I know i'm not Carlo but i'm not Benitez either..
Lucas is crap..
our central midfield is getting thinner and thinner in terms of options now Gattuso is out for possibly the rest of the season.
I know Beckham will come in, but since Gattuso did so much running we need a player who can add that bite to our game ... Flamini can't do it all himself. I would look to see if we can take a midfielder on loan for the second half of the season (we're not going to buy anyone that's for sure). Ideally i'd say Diaby, Wenger hardly sees to play him but i doubt he'll let him go. I think we need someone though.
Gourcuf did also poorly with Milan but he is not a crappy player. The same happen to Lucas Leiva. He is a young and hotprospect player. There is still many rooms for him to improve. But for now I think we dont need such a player as we have covered very well in that position.

I was watching Liverpool vs PSV. and Lucas is no joke. he had a nice game. from what i saw this guy is a complete midfielder, he aint a joke. perfect passing, good work rate, perfect vision. has to develop in some areas but this guy has a future ahead of him.
Sorry, out of topic. I read this on channel4 : http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/topten/loyal.html
I can't understand why Baresi is on number 8 when kids like Del Piero and Totti on number 3 and 4. What Baresi has won much more than those kids all together.
I thought it should be tough for the write to determine which one to be put in the first position, Maldini or Baresi because if I am not mistaken Baresi played also in Serie B when Milan demoted to Serie B, which Maldini never 'shows' his loyality in such situation.
Edit :
Del Piero is not from Juventus. He is Padova's youth product. This kid shouldn't be on third position. What did the writer drink actually to make such position.

Siregar Probably the writer was young enough to understand what baresi meant and means to ACM

I agree, I was outraged when I saw Baresi way down as #8. And with all due respect to Mazzola (#2) he was only in Torino for seven years (even though he might've stayed there for much longer, wel'll never know if he would have). And it's not as if he should get more "points" because Torino is a small-ish team - they were the top team back then.
According to Danish sports paper Tipsbladet, Galliani has stated to them that Daniel Agger is one of 3-4 defenders that Milan are considering. He says that:
(My translation from Danish to English of their translation from Italian (I suppose) to Danish)
"We need to sign a defender in January. There's no doubt about it ... We have a list of 3-4 defenders and Agger is one of them. We will definately make an offer for one of them in January."
It wasn't too long ago that Uncle Fester said we were absolutely not entering the winter mercato, but I guess tomorrow he might yet deny we're buying anyone in January. I think he just likes to hear the sound of his own voice.
I do think, though, that signing a defender next month is a necessity.

Another case of a defender being overshadowed by an attacker. But i don't agree with looking down upon Del Piero either.

This has been denied on the official website.

Well, then, someone's not telling the truth. The Danish sports paper said that Galliani had spoken (directly) to them. It's amazing how the media will just flat out lie to sell papers.
