Honda is a better player and not only can he be the next Seedorf, he can be a player much better than Seedorf barring any injuries.

Not Mexes again!! Don't we have enough average center backs? We can't take him just because he's "free"... :yuck:

let me ask you this Arildonardo, Mexes or Bonera?. Mexes is better than Papa and Yepes as well imo when he is fully fit and on form.

I don't want to chose between Mexes, Bonera, Papa and Yepes. I want someone who's great, not 4 players that are barely good enough to be backup. We already have average backup players...

Anybody any thoughts on Mathieu Coutadeur? i think he could be a wise investment for us.
Balotelli:
"One day I will play for Milan," he said. "In any case, I am very happy at Manchester City and would like to win the Premier and Europa League.
"Well, there is only one player who is a tiny bit better than me: Leo Messi. The rest are behind me!"
We should sign him in the near future while Ibra and Cassano are still with us, what a collection of players :guw:

Imagine Sheva returns again to fill in the 4th striker's spot.
All this talk about Ganso and Jucilei is getting on my nerves! Seriously, how many times have we heard about one player being the next best thing? and how many times have they actually lived up to the billing? These guys might be good but i don't think they're ready for Milan. A decent club like Palermo or Fiorentina, but not Milan. Maybe in 2 or 3 years but not now. Not saying we can't buy them now ( they can always go out on loan), i'm just saying i don't think they're ready to be thrust into the 1st team.

On top of that, T. Silva once flopped in Europe but Milan still paid about 10Mil for him.
Would you rather paid a total of 15 Mil(including wages for over 3 yrs) for someone like Emerson or someone like Ganso or Jucelei?

They may be UN-affordable in 2-3 years.
Secondly, you can't deny we NEED an ACM. Can you name anyone available, affordable, and ready to play for Milan? (I'm not convinced Cassano will be this player)

According to some sources in England Milan are linked with Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany. Apparently we want to use Ronaldinho in a swap deal, but Manchester City are not interested in getting Ronaldinho or getting rid of Kompany.
I remember Kompany used to be regarded as a really talented player when he was younger. Not sure now though, haven't seen him play much.
Anyway, the rumour is just one in a million... :)

Kompany has been good for Man City since joining them. He's often been used as a DM and has done well, but is now struggling for space this season.

I haven't seen too much of Man City this year but every time i do, Kompany is there and usually (not always) playing a CB and doing pretty well.
After you said that i just had to check his numbers and apparently he has played the most along with Hart, their GK....so much for a struggle :dconf:

This guy should be put in jail for saying that. How many goals this loser has scored yet? I can only remember 1 for Inter. So this coward should first score some goals & than compare himself with Messi. One of the most irritating & over ratted players in the world rite now :yuck:

this post it totally wrong :)
Kompany is in the team every game and always as a central defender. He's their best defender this season by far. ITs even said he will replace tevez as a city captain.

How many times have we seen similar situation played out... as a matter of fact it is not fittingly appropriate or appropiately fitting to say that players are not good enough for Milan... i have seen smaller teams with 11 players who "are not good enough for milan" kick the **** out of milan!!!:3band:

http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/88/spain/2010/12/23/2274317/jose-mourinho-i-wont-be-a-yes-man-at-real-madrid
There are many different styles. Milan seems to want excellent players on the cheap, or they look for young talent in South America.
Some teams buy players at 15-16 and produce them and raise them (Barca, Arsenal)
Some teams buy any random player for top price (Man City)...
Mourinho is very clear of what he wants. He wants players who fit in his 4-2-3-1 system, and he wants Excellent players who work hard. When looking for a striker to buy, he looks for Drogba, Rooney, etc. He doesn't look at Matri or Santa Cruz. He's very picky and always wants the best. I respect him for that, but his style he can only work at 3-4 clubs ( Man U, Chelsea, Inter, R Madrid).
I like Mourinho's style very much as he makes a team good IMMEDIATELY. However, it's also very expensive. Milan is doing a good job and I'm starting to trust Galliani more. He's giving more comments indicating that Milan needs more replacements for their older players. The fact we're linked with Jucilei, Lazzari, D. Luiz, Coentrao, Kompany, Cassano, Ganso, and Honda shows they want to replace our useless or older players. I hope He can come through :3band:

Sorry for the mistake on Kompany, admittedly I've not seen enough of City to know precisely how much he's played, but heard he wasn't always playing (clearly not true).
Filipez, about him playing as a DM, I was referring mostly to last season (I think) where he was often complimented in the role.
My impression...As a unit Man City are a mess defensively, thanks to Canadian TV's love for the EPL I get to see them often. Kompany himself has been good but nowhere near the quality of the defender he was touted earlier in his career (and we talked about here on MM years ago)
One of my sources (a very good source at that) told me that Galliani is very quietly working to bring to Milan Torres in order to replace Inzaghi who's likely out for the season...

^^ I'd definitely smoke what he's been smoking.
Seriously, even after we signed Cassano (one of my fav players) I was very disappointed because we are pushing it with all these strikers that will never fit in... and now Torres? please.....
Coentrao, Fabregas are players that we should be splashing our cash on.. Ganso and Jucilei would also be nice, but even I am now confused with our non-eu status... I was 100% convinced we hadn't used it.....
AC Milan is getting closer to Constant
The Rossoneri have reached an agreement with Damiani, the player's agent, now a deal with Chievo looks very likely. Constant should arrive on co-ownership deal - by SportMediaset.it

Torres seems very unlikely, i can see us signing someone like Matri or Floro Flores to replace injured inzaghi, Falcao from Porto would be nice replacement for inzaghi. but it seems unlikely too...

it seems his ex club s the only problem regarding Constant. Milan wants him in co-ownership with Chievo, 1.5 m euros is a bargain for a player like him...
i like players like him, as he can be better player under Allegri and our coaches, educate and mature his football more...

Fine mock me... I can tell you that the same source told me about Ibra 2-3 weeks before the news even talked about the possibility of Zlatan going to Milan... First of all Cassano is not a striker (he is the ideal replacement for Binho); second of all, according to FIFA regulations, Cassano is not elegible to play in the Champions League. That would leave us short-handed with the lone Binho, Pato Ibra on the attacking front.

Call it coincidence...but I was watching Chievo-Juve last week, and Constant was fairly good and he caught my eye,and I thought to myself if MIlan were ever to take him that would mean he is really good. So he has to be good :ilol:

torres, cassano, pato, ibra, robinho .. how can we find space for all these players?
and possibly constant too..
and kastriot when we played chievo i actually noticed constant he was strong on the ball and showed some nice skill on it good movement and all..he looks like a talented player i would definitely not mind him coming in.. rather then torres who we dontneed
Hitmannq was just kidding Nando but he got a point IMO. With Dinho is more likely to go, you're right about we only have 3 strikers left. But they're all world class and not mediocre ones and that's enough for now. Adding another top shelf one is downright unnecessary especially since we only play at most SEVEN games in UCL. Cassano's arrival and Pato's returning from injury are enough to give Allegri headache as to who's gonna start. Not to mention that Torres, a WC winner and at prime age, will cost a fortune. So why not use it to strengthen other weaker parts of team like some attacking mid or full backs?

sky is also reporting that we have signed Kevin Constant on a co-ownership deal...
he's a player I really liked this season. He's got great technique, he is strong on the ball, he's not crazy fast but he's faster than Seedorf/Pirlo/Gattuso and Ambrosini. Good buy, but this means that we will be giving up on Ambrosini and/or Jucilei. I also am worried we have given up on Lazzari because of Constant. Personally I prefer Lazzari much more, but Constant is not that far behind and he is 4 years younger than Lazzari.

Word is Pato is out the door next season, due to character issues+injury prowess. Allegri is getting tired of this... In fact, in his last few appearences Pato was always benched. Ibrahimovic we all agree is an iron man, but even he will need rest. Plus everybody seems to forget the Coppa Italia. Berlusconi is tired of staying behind Inter 5 years running. Anybody find strange that for the past 5 years societary policy with regards to buying was one of austerity and now all of a sudden he goes out and buys Ibra and Binho? Fact is he and Allegri see eye to eye, while this did not happen with Leo and the last Ancelotti. Also, he recently brought in his daughter, Barbara Berlusconi, in order to revamp the environment.
Plus, who said we are not working on a midfielder (see Kevin Constant and maybe Poli of Sampdoria) or a fullback (Coentrao for example)

I'm not saying Nando is a liar.. I havn't heard from this poster before, although I've been here only 6 months...randomly he posts that we're getting Fernando Torres??
Fernando Torres is between 60-75 Million Euros...Personally I don't like him because he's injured more than he's healthy (similar to Pato).. and that's very annoying. However, he's be probably the perfect guy to play off of Ibrahimovic, as Ibra can play second striker, and Fernando would give Ibra a lot of space. However, it won't happen...I mean, what are we trying to play:
a 3-2-5?
We need a Fullback, another CB, and work on the midfield, particularly an ACM. We can have all of the great forwards of the world, but if we don't have a link from midfield to attack, it does not matter. We need our own (Sneijder, Ozil, Xavi, etc).
I don't know much about Constant as I have not seen him play. I'm not sure who he's intended to replace. Jucilei would have been good..but I'm sure we won't get him now. No news about Honda it seems...
Any news on Coentrao recently?

No, see you misunderstand. Berlusconi and Leonardo did not see eye to eye, as Berlusconi himself declared on the day he brought in Robinho. Because of this, Silvio was not willing to spend big money for the club, he did not like the way Milan played. Galliani, in fact, tried to mediate between SB and Leo but it came to nothing. It was BECAUSE he found a new feeling with Allegri that he decided to invest in the club again.
Regarding Ronaldinho, SB was sorry to see him go but had to bow to the evidence that Allegri and his football have got milan champions of winter, which had not happened for a very long time. Because of this, Ronaldinho leaving is less painful for him.
And it is useless to talk about players like Ganso and Jucilei, since they are not EU citizens, and we already have all of our slots for non-EU citizens filled up.

I don't think they "see" eye to eye. I think Allegri is a :gonova: .. Allegri was trying the same stupid tactics as last year...playing a 4-3-3 with ronaldinho on left, and even Ibra/Inzaghi on the right :ilol: don't you remember that ridiculous game? Allegri even played Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso in midfield, I think against Cesena... He also waits until 90th minute to do subs..
I think Berlusconi tells him what to do, and unlike Leonardo, Allegri's a P***y (figa)...
Sorry to be so blunt, but this is what I think...It is true, however, that Berlusconi is pissed about losing, and can't lie to himself anymore that R80, Gattuso, Pirlo, seedorf, Zambrotta are not good enough anymore to win a scudetto...however, we need more work in the back and midfield,, we can't be so top heavy..we're still without a poaching striker though without Inzaghi.. I'm curious to see how this will all play out.

It is true that in the beginning he was playing the 4-3-3; however ever since he tried out the 4-3-1-2 with the all-muscles midfield we have been winning consistently, and if Berlusconi is telling him how to play, for God's sake let him keep at it! We are winning! Here is the difference, and it is not about being a ***** or a macho, is about being tactically smart as well as diplomatic.
See, you can be as much macho as you want, but if SB does not like it, you ain't going far, since he is the one that makes or breaks the deals Milan makes for other players. Allegri in this regard is very smart, and in fact he is winning and Berlusconi is enthusiastic once again about the team and shows it by making the big signings.
Again, who said we are not working on a midfielder (in fact, I just got a message that tells me Constant is a done deal, Galliani and Damiani (the player's agent) met tonight at dinner at Giannino and are defining the agreement, probably a 50/50 ownership of the player. Poli of Sampdoria is also a possibility as well as Reto Ziegler (given the good relationship between Milan and Garrone, the owner of Sampdoria after the Cassano deal)
Nice to read your information Nando about Torres, Constant, Poli and Ziegler. Waiting forward for next news especially we are now close to winter transfer window.
Any news about David Luiz? And about EU-spot, who filled the spot for this year? As far as I know players we brought this year have EU pass from Robinho, Ibra, Montelengo (spell?) and Boateng.

Torres and Pato are together 100% of a player as they are both often injured half the season. We need both!

Nice to see somebody appreciates... As far as David Luiz goes, Braida has been sent to scout him a couple of times, there have been contacts, but nothing too important. What I know for certain is that for the January transfer window a center back is not a priority, since we have Nesta, Silva (who will be ready for the January 6th match vs Cagliari after the operation) Yepes, Bonera and Papa at that position (Onyewu I won't even consider mentioning). Luiz is a possibility in June-August as well as Sahko from PSG as possible replacements/substitutes for the aging Sandro Nesta.
As far as the EU spot I believe it was Yepes, but I would have to check on that.
PS= The arrival of Torres is linked with the Dinho departure. If Dinho goes Torres will be a very concrete possibility, given that Inzaghi is out and Pato has too many probs mentally and phisically. If Dinho stays then Torres will not come. In any case, Galliani is working on it. If he goes to Liverpool before the end of the transfer market consider it a done deal, since Galliani only moves from Milan to close a deal (look at past instances for Ibra, Dinho, etc...).
If by any chance the Torres deal should fall through, we would either try to find a decent player on loan until the end of the season or stay as we are.
And at the end of the season, there is a 40% chance that Balotelli will come and wear the red and black. This may seem as utopia, but look closer: Balo is a Milan fan, he has already said that he would like to play with Ibra and his agent is Mino Raiola, the same agent Ibra has and that has a very good relationship with our club. There is in fact a clause in Balotelli's contract that says that if Mancini should be terminated by City, the club would be obliged to let Raiola and Balo negotiate with other clubs if they so desire without interference.
As far as the Cassano deal goes, the terms of the contract have not been fully disclosed, however my source tells me that it will be a 1 year deal (actually 6 months) with an option for a second and a third, depending on performance and character. That way, should Cassano display behavioral issues, Milan could release him at the end of this season (basically an insurance policy). The player will be paid 1,5 mln a year and Sampdoria, Milan and Cassano himself would divide the 5 millions owed to Real (in case of transfer away from Sampdoria) in 3 equal parts. With Pato probably leaving at the end of the season and Pippo that could call it quits at the end of the season (given the serious injury), you see why Milan are pursuing strikers so aggresively.
somehow I don't rate Torres anymore. To replace Pato with him would not be a good idea in my book.

I don't have any reason to doubt you. You also, apparently, live in Italy, which makes what you say far more credible. After all, we rely on glimpses of Italian media.
I have a friend who knows people at the Milanello, and at one point I had an open invitation to tour the facilities. Who am I to argue if he were to tell me insider information?
However, you can understand Hitmann's reaction because there are a lot of charlatans all over the web. Further, Torres does seem out of left field, even if we were interested in him in the past.
Hope all of this is true.

I'm not saying it's wrong that Allegri is soft, because if Berlusconi is suggesting the formation, he's certainly right. However, I did not see much difference between Allegri in the first month of the season and Leonardo. Furthermore, Leonardo (And I'm not saying he's a great coach), did not have the players Allegri has this year. Therefore, we cannot compare.
Having said that, I'd prefer a coach with alittle more backbone (Mourinho) who chooses his players, his transfers, and his ideology in regards to the team. Yes, there needs to be some input from Management, but I've noticed in Milan, the coach has very little say.
One last thought, Reto Ziegler has a great workrate, and I find it funny that we're linked to him, because I recommended him about 3 weeks ago, check my posts :D
He's for SURE an upgrade from Antonini, and he can take free kicks too with good accuracy, but does not possess the potential of let's say Coentrao, Cole, Evra, Abidal, etc...
Reto Ziegler (Switzerland)
- 24 Years
- 1.83m
- 79 kg
- Midfielder (winger) converted into Left Back
- 1 Goal on 9 Shots this season
*** I appreciate you too Nando :5ok:.. non ti preoccupare! if you are a Milanista, siamo amici...Just like other posters say, when someone comes on randomly and says we're linked heavily with Fernando Torres, it's normal to be a bit skeptical.... esp when we're not aware of any situation with Pato. It's very surprising to hear there are issues with Pato, although many of us (I included) are quite nervous about his injuries...

Yepes cannot take the non EU spot as his transfer came within the league. Same applies to Papa and Prince.
Prince was born in Berlin, no question of him being non-EU. As for Papa, Greece is part of EU.

Hasan you said it... It seems way out of left field...That's exactly what Galliani wants in order to negotiate quietly in a calm environment without other clubs pressuring him and therefore making the price for the player go way up. Just think about it. Who would have thought that there was even a remote chance that Ibra would go to Milan as close as 48 hrs prior to the deal? Practically nobody. This allowed Galliani to literally STEAL Ibra on a free loan for one year, with a purchase option for 3 more years at 24 MILLION EUROS!!!! 24 million euros!!!! Do you know how much Barcelona paid for Ibra???? Now imagine that everybody had known about the deal. That of course would have brought in more clubs which would probably have offered way more and Ibra would have never worn our jersey. The best deals are done under the radar. So that everybody thinks Torres is way out in left field IS ACTUALLY A GOOD THING.

wow now torres too? if that goes through..
torres, cassano, pato, ibra, robinho .. how can we find space for all these players?
and possibly constant too..
and kastriot when we played chievo i actually noticed constant he was strong on the ball and showed some nice skill on it good movement and all..he looks like a talented player i would definitely not mind him coming in.. rather then torres who we dontneed
I agreed. Constant is the best Chievo player in that match against us. He ran, passed, and crossed, constantly terrorized our backline (pardon the pun), but correct me, is he more of a winger, or CM?
It's great to be a Milan fan nowadays, huh? Several months ago I cannot imagine myself saying "We don't need Torres". :v408:

Torres and Pato are together 100% of a player as they are both often injured half the season. We need both!
Providing they are not injured in same half of a season, I agree. :5ok::haha:
By the way, I don't say I don't believe in Nando. I can see the possibility Galliani & co. trying to force this deal and maybe actually make some offers to Liverpool, but now they need Torres more than ever as they're currently pass through the Europa League group stage and desperately need to improve their position in EPL. The only ways Milan can get him is when we pay big enough so Liverpool feel they could get a proper replacement with that amount of money (which means A LOT, and I can't see Berlusconi willing to splash more than 20M euros in winter, even in his craziest mental condition).
Btw, Torres will also be ineligible in CL, so that STILL left us with Binho, Ibra, and unhealthy Pato upfront.

You seem to forget the fact that the Reds need to sell due to their horrendous financial situation. This is mainly why Galliani saw an opening and decided to go for it. It is not a sure thing that they will pay very big money for him (look at the Ibra deal, 24 mln euros, enough said). Also, Torres is not at all inelegible in the CL, as Uefa regulations clearly state. A player who has played in the Europa League, is still eligible to play in the CL for another club. This is stated in points 18.17-18.18 of the regulations which took effect this year:
18.17 For all matches from the start of the round of 16, a club may register a
maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the
current competition. Such registration must be completed by
1 February 2011 (24.00 CET) at the latest. This deadline cannot be
extended.
18.18 One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club
competition matches for another competing club in the current season may
exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:
− in the same competition for another club; or
− for another club that is currently in the same competition.
Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Europa League,
his former club must not have played in the UEFA Europa League at any
point in the current season.

Just for the record, if Torres was brought in, he would be able to play in the CL.
Nando, feel free to speculate and spread rumors as much you like, we've had plenty of folks coming in here claiming they have inside information.
And for that Ibra case, you were saying that you're friend was the only one who predicted Ibra coming in 3 weeks before the transfer? Well - sorry to disappoint you, but Ibra was linked to Milan ever since they bought Villa 3 months prior. Ibra - Milan was a pretty much predictable move by most people in the football world, the only thing that wasn't expected were the financial details of the deal. Just because you're friend managed to say what most of the people knew, does not make him have any superficial source.
Anyway back to the real stuff going on,
Constant seems to have been bagged on a 1.5m euro co-ownership deal. Good deal if you ask me. We seem to be linked with Ziegler and Poli. I dont want Ziegler, we already have on average left back in Antonini, the next one we bring has to be world-class.

I would more appreciate people with 'inside information' (it doesn't matter if it's true or not, since nothing is exact in transfer rumors) compared to people that only moan and bring nothing except "all news has been covered in many webs, that's old news', etc".
This is winter mercato thread and all news are rumours even coming from Galliani mouth. What fact is offcial thread IF (big if) the players has signed contract (We have experience regarding official news from Milan informed us that we have captured players but the end result was nothing. Example are Chissoko and former Empoli striker who bought by Inter).
What disadvantage from such 'inside information' is that crap websites could use that as main information for their next news. :D

How would he fight against Inter??!!! If we get the 50% from Genoa, than its a 50/50 battle. Currently I fancy my chances against Inter, seeing what a mess are they atm.
Can someone give a report about Constant ?
His level, etc ?
I don't know him and he seems likely to join us ...
How many times have we seen similar situation played out... as a matter of fact it is not fittingly appropriate or appropiately fitting to say that players are not good enough for Milan... i have seen smaller teams with 11 players who "are not good enough for milan" kick the **** out of milan!!!:3band:
Well said. But at the end of the season, these teams end up in Serie B or mid-table. Why? because they lack the consistency to produce credible results week-in, week-out.

The difference is that Cassano has played the CL this season, remember the preliminaries against Werder Bremen still count as CL.
Hitman, you may try to discredit me as much as you like, but you are flat out lying when you say that from the moment Villa went to Barcelona we already knew that Ibra was going to Milan. That is crap. In fact everybody was speculating Dzeko would go to Milan.
And how exactly he will fight Ranocchia's other 50% with Merda. It'll be tough.
Ranocchia is a very good possibiliti for the summer market. This is because first of all, Milan and Genoa have a very good relationship (look at the summer deals between Milan and Genoa for Boateng on loan, Amelia on Loan and Papa; we gave them Zigoni and Half of Strasser). For the record, Preziosi (the Genoa president), is holding Moratti "hostage" because he said that if Moratti wanted the player he would have to pay 6 mln now in the winter market and buy the entire 100% of the player, otherwise he said that Ranocchia would not move from Genoa. This is a strategy that could go to Milan's advantage because Galliani could try to bring the player in taking advantage of his godd relationship with Preziosi.

Mario Balotelli has been axed by Roberto Mancini for being lazy and miserable.
The Italian striker turned in an awful display for Manchester City in Monday's home defeat by Everton.
And Mancini said: "If Mario deserves to play he will play. If he doesn't deserve to play he doesn't play. If Mario doesn't work, he doesn't play.
"It's not important Mario has a good technique and is a good player. If we want to improve we need everybody giving 200 per cent.
"Mario is a special player but you have to put strength and heart into your performances."
Balotelli, 20, has started five of City's last six games but will be on the bench for their Boxing Day trip to Newcastle.
He has bagged five goals in nine games so far, but has also been red-carded and turned in some shockers while never looking like he is enjoying a minute.
Mancini believes Balotelli can be the best player in the world, but right now he has run out of patience with him.
The Eastlands boss added: "He must improve his situation and smile. I do not know why he does not look happy.
"Manchester is not like Milan but he has to accept it."
Mancini bought Balotelli from Inter Milan for £24million in the summer having worked with him at the San Siro.
And he said: "We do have a good relationship but he must play well, must work hard every day, like the other players."
Mancini has hinted captain Carlos Tevez should apologise to fans to help restore his standing with the City faithful.
Tevez withdrew a transfer request on Monday after a week-long wrangle.
Mancini said: "I don't know. Maybe he should apologise.
"It is now important Carlos plays well and scores goals. But the fans still love him."

sell pato get balo
sell pato get balo
Why should we do that? First, Pato is more talented than Balo or at least until now. Age difference play important role but I think they are in similar age (the difference is only 1 year). Second, Balo has problem with his character, just like the news said. So, I will definitely reject the option.
Honestly I don't believe super duper talented player but with low character, disciplined or behavior. As much as I hate Ibra in the past, he was different to players like Balo, Cassano, Adriano etc. Ibra has problem only with his ego (that he doesn't like to be treated without respect and a bit arrogant) which very little in influencing his performance, not with discipline, bad behavior or similar.
Latest News: Galiiani and Damiani have agreed to let Constant go to Genoa as a favor to gain an advantage on either Criscito or Ranocchia.

We're not likely to lose a lot if we get his half. In the circumstance, we either get a potentially great CB, or we stand to get a little money if we play our cards right. Ultimately, getting half of Ranocchia will be screwing Inter over big time, which I'm sure everyone is always happy to see.

The UEFA's new regulation states:
18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA
Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for
more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally,
however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying
round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to
play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from
the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for
the group phase of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa
League; moreover, as from the start of the round of 16 (round of 32 for UEFA
Europa League), a player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs
18.17 to 18.20 below. For the avoidance of doubt, a substitute player who
has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the
UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the
same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in
accordance with the present regulations.

A lot of confusing things going on here...
First, I don't mind someone coming in and saying things about Torres. If we don't have him Feb 1, we'll know the deal.
Secondly, I agree, while I think Ziegler is an upgrade from Antonini, I want a WC LB (ie/Coentrao)
In regards to Balotelli, I'm not sure why the Milanisti want him. He's talented, strong, good finisher, etc. but do we really want Cassano and Balotelli on Milan..not to mention Ibra...:ilol:
Balotelli is another proven trouble maker. He has issues with every coach.
This whole ordeal with Constant seems like it good be a bargaining tool for Ranocchia or Criscito. I really can't say much about Luiz, Ranocchia and predicting their future is impossible. For me, filling the shoes of Alessandro Nesta will be almost impossible. And, it seems he may quit after this season by the stories I've heard...

Ever since Ibra got here, Pato has been upset about it, because he sees Ibra taking the leadership in the attack, a role Pato thinks he deserves. This primadonna attitude has upset more than one of the senators (Ambro, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seed), who have told him more than once to be more humble and play for the team (come back to cover, pass the ball more often) and not be selfish. Also Allegri is upset at his phisical fragility and his inability yo play through the pain (even if he feels little pain he will ask to be subbed), and is apparently convinced that it is more of a psicological problem than a true physical problem. This is what went on behind the scene and why Allegri has benched him in his last few appearances before his injury.

Leonardo spiteful of Berlusconi .....
I don't care if Berlusconi raped his wife, there are some things a Milanista do not do and this is one of them. Leonardo has proven to be nothing more than phony Milanista. He no longer has my respect.

we will never know, I guess. Only Dzeko does.
I have no doubt that he loves Milan, but he was the one that makes everything very difficult. :rr30:
anyway, Forza Milan.
Basically, he did that as a goodwill for the club. That way, Wolfs won't lose him for nothing. Pretty noble if you ask me.
The other thing is, can you guys stop dreaming about Ranocchia, as this will not happen. He is either going to start playing for Inter in Jan or in Aug. Crisito to me is abit over-rated. David Luiz to me is still a much better player than those two.

Wow!! Where did you got this rumor?? What a bunch of nonsense!!
(Btw, don´t take it personal, I´m attacking the news)
Milan is looking a lot like Real Madrid. The player is fried at the press with stupid rumors, making the guy looks bad to the fans and them, a transfer in the next window can be made easily...
Lets get the facts straight: Wasn´t Ibra the one saying(after Real Madrid game) he likes to play in a more free role and not as a CF(asking Allegri to start Pippo and bench Pato and Robinho)?? Have you guys see how happy is Pato playing(and scoring) as a pure #9(his position since the start of his career in Brazil)for Mano Menezes team?? look, one wants to be the CF and the other wants a free role, how can they be mad at each other? This rumor is so stupid...
This part about his inability yo play through the pain is even worse!!
Pato is a REALLY down to earth young man, and anything but a primadonna. What a shame those rumors! It is looking a lot like the strategy to fry Robinho some years ago. The same derogating strategy... Btw, after this nonsense and Cassano purchase, I have no doubt Pato´s days are numbered at Milan.
Another thing... Strange how some of these senators can blackmail Milan always they are benched(Gattuso, Ambro) with threats about leaving the club, and there´s no repercussion. They are always the good ones and the ones that loves Milan :rollani: I hate these double standards:irritate:

No player is bigger than the club, and I also do not like this Pato bashing. Ibra likes to be second striker and Pato as #9...
I want both Ibra and Pato as my starters for next 5 years!!!

Thanks, Elmago...
Pato and Ibra partnership is perfect. Sure they are finishers and will be a little selfish in some games, but imo they complement each other very well.
I just hope our coach uses more pato as a #9 and Ibra free. Can´t stand more to see Pato tracking back as a winger...
I agree with Brasileiro. Let us not forget that Pato has played an entire season as a Right Wing Forward and never complained.

Pato as n°9, with Ibra as second striker, thats what I posted on another Milan forum. but nobody agreed there. glad some people here think the same :D
IMO if pato could play a whole season as our frontman he would bag in 20-30 goals a season. He played this role in his first half season at Milan, he was just 18yo back than. he was fantastic!!
I'm afraid he will leave in the summer , but we shouldnt let him go, he is only true goalscorer we have (OK, also pippo). Ibra aint a true goalscorer in my book.

Don't you notice that, whenever an in demand striker is injured for Milan, while another striker is scoring goals for the team. They will always be rumors about the injured striker wanting to leave or Milan willing to sell him..... It happened when Sheva got hurt and Pippo scoring goals during 02-03. Then if happened to Pippo when Sheva was scoring the goals the next year.
They will never stop.
Personally, I don;t think Cassano is the exit sign for Pato. As all teams need depths. Pato and Ibra will start together and shine for Milan once both are healthy. I actually think that Robinho might be slot into the ACM spot due to his work rate and his will to track back.
Pato will only leave Milan if another top notch striker is sign.

Brasiliero, as I posted in the Cassano thread, I really think this purchase is part of a great project to rebuild the team. Look, our attack is now something like Ibra/Pato and Robinho(IMO, if Pato wants to play, he'll have to take the place of Robinho who is simply becoming more and more important and better for us in each game)/Cassano ... or maybe Ibra/Cassano and Robinho/Pato, I don't know how things will work, who will be the sub for who, the only sure thing is that right now, Ibra and Robinho are our starters and both Pato and Cassano will have to fight to get a starting spot, mainly with Robinho, and sometimes when Ibra is tired.
Our attacking line is simply perfect, 4 international players, 3 with experience and who are not really injury-prone, one young wolf who will learn a lot with them, and the fact these 3 experienced players work hard on the pitch will push Pato to work even harder on the pitch (actually, last year, he couldn't be blamed for not tracking back when on the left side, Ronaldinho was allowed not to move at all off the ball) ...
So I only see positive things in this Ibra/Robinho/Cassano purchases for both the team and Pato. IMO, if Pato doesn't get another injury in the second part of the season (he should be able to reinforce and prepare his body more easily by playing a bit less, and he will have less pressure), he won't be sold. If he gets another injury or doesn't manage to take the starting spot (because not working enough), he will probably be sold (unfortunately), and probably to get another young player, surely Balotelli ...

i like pato i really do , but the fact he's no threat without the ball if he doesnt have a running lane he's invisible , he's not bojan , messi , david silva , who all play up top and can make 1 or 2 crisp perfect passes & complete a attack , pato is not threat as a number 9 aganst who small teams ? fiore , bari , if we would play barca , man united , lol real madrid CF he wouldnt exist he's a real basic 2 # striker robinho looks out of this world with us dribbling , lobbing , shooting ( FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX ) creating lanes , smart deadly even without the ball , cassano is perfect for us , was boateng going to be our sneijder , ozil , probally not , so lets get cassano ? , pato can still be as effective , but can he adjust to a 4321 - 4231 - 433 - 4213 , ? or is he another ronaldinho ( Milan period ) hes useless unless we play a 433 all the time ( LEFT SIDE ONLY ) & not even rotates plays on the left doesnt backtrack ? this is serie a ? , everybody backtracks , you all gang up on me whatever but balo is doing everything he can to join us , people say he's a headcase oh yea just like kpb , robinho , ibra , cassano , get out of here ! , i still want balo for pato , he's more durable and doesnt have to blast past everybody because he's not a threat in the air ,
Cannot believe any Milanista could ask for Pato to be gone!!!!
would never trade this kid for anyone in the world (except Messi)
I don't care about the injuries (frustrating and frequent as they are)
I don't believe the attitude rumours
Pato has the potential (we all know) and will fulfill it (apparently we don't all agree on this point).
his body will get stronger
he will learn to work more for the team (hell if Ibra learned that at the age of 27-28, there is no reason a 21 yr-old will not)
and he will be the best striker in the world
Robinho & Cassano can fight it over for the CAM role for all i care (happy to have them both but not on Pato's expense)
i want to see Ibra & Pato playing together and Pato as the Striker
I will never forget the 1st half season he played for us, i was so happy we found a gem like that.

Pato should be our striker for the next 10 years ...period

Regading Leo...Berlusconi treated him with a callousness that we come to expect from him. I don't think we should expect much from a man who spends much of his time fending off incarceration.
However, after he was let go, Leonardo had a choice. Quite frankly, his joining Inter is not exactly Judas-like, but it is spiteful, something to which he has every right. For me, he has gone down in esteem. The point is that Berlusconi has meddled and insulted many times. The man is himself contemptible and contemptuous of most people's work. However, Leonardo's choice to join Inter is a slap in the face of the fans, whom he has clearly disregarded. No one expects much from a lout like Berlusconi, but we do expect much from an urbane Leonardo.
As for Pato, I think he has been a great servant. He never complains, and injuries are not exactly his fault. He is growing and he has put on a lot of weight. His injuries are unsurprising, but I do suspect that our medical staff is not a good as it is cracked up to be.
I do think, however, that Pato will leave either this summer or the next, and that will prove to be a mistake only if he performs brilliantly at his new club. Then we will know whether it was us that screwed up with managing his injuries etc.
Samaldinho
25-12-2010, 18:35
I agree with Brasiliero and Hasan here.
I don't think Pato's injuries are his fault, its clearly because of his growth and the amount of muscle he's put on alone, and the fact that he's still getting taller, all point to injuries that will happen. I mean, Balotelli is also going through the same thing, so I don't think it's down to Italian, Brazilian, Milan's medical staff, or whatever..
However, if Pato's injuries are something that are more chronic, I actually trust Milan's selling policy. When it comes to selling our "crown jewels" I can't really remember us letting go someone and it blowing up in our face. Yes, there are some examples of players who have left us to do well (Borriello, so far) but when it comes to Sheva or Kaka, symbols of Milan, neither have left to do anything important and Kaka's injuries have prevented him from doing anything of note for Real.
As for Pato leaving, I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel like he's destined to go, and Cassano coming in doesn't help. However, Cassano is 28, and I think he is firmly told where he's going to be. I feel like Cassano is not as long-term a solution, and I would go so far as to say that "long-term" Milan strategy is more based on Paloschi, Pato, and Robinho than Ibra and Cassano. But that's another story.
As far as what happens when Cassano and Pato come into the mix, I think we've seen that Allegri doesn't trust Dinho and we have worked Ibra to the point of exhaustion. Cassano will be useful to play, especially against smaller teams.
So I'm not sure the problem is so much about having all these attackers, I think the problem is that Allegri needs to play them, and it seems clear that without Dinho being considered, Pato's return and Cassano's addition are very important to Milan's future push. I mean, Ronaldo taking on the domestic scoring burden in 2007 allowed Pippo to score the goals to win the CL. I don't see why we should be worried about that.
Quick note: We've been linked to Rannochia, Crisicto, and last I saw, Montolivo. Those would be three DREAM signing for me.

IN GALLIANI WE TRUST!
This is what went on behind the scene and why Allegri has benched him in his last few appearances before his injury.
I'm sorry but I find that hard to believe. Pato's character is one of confidence and while he does need to mature (acknowledged publicly by both Allegri and Ambro), I don't think it's negative or harmful. He's selfish on the pitch and not always working hard enough (same could have been said of Ibra), but these are things which can be worked on and I'm sure Allegri is aware of this given his track record of getting the best out of players. Off the pitch he's had plenty of personal problems like his divorce, something I'm sure the club and coach will appreciate, but has always spoken about being available for the coach, which again I'm sure Allegri will appreciate.
His injuries cannot be blamed either and the club knows this (or else it wouldn't have sent him to the US for further tests). If he kept getting injured for a day or two then I'd think there's reason to believe he's not able to play through pain, but every time he's gotten injured he's been out for a lengthy period, suggesting there are some problems which need resolving.
Finally, you mentioned twice that Allegri has been benching him. That's incorrect as he's almost always started when fit. He's only made two appearances off the bench and I distinctly remember one of those being after his previous injury. In the last match he played when he got injured (Palermo) he started, scored and also was working very hard throughout the match (going back to his apparent attitude problem).
Cannot believe any Milanista could ask for Pato to be gone!!!!

As far as stats go (source: ESPN), see below. I've shown Serie A stats only as that has been our primary goal this season and we're yet to see the same consistency in CL.
Ibrahimovic
Games played : 16 (0 as sub)
Goals : 9
Assists : 7
Pato
Games Played : 8 (2 as sub)
Goals : 6
Assists : 0
Inzaghi
Games Played : 5 (4 as sub)
Goals : 2
Assists : 0
Robinho
Games Played : 15 (4 as sub)
Goals : 6
Assists : 0
Ronaldinho
Games Played : 11 (4 as sub)
Goals : 0
Assists : 3
Ibra is our best performing forward if you look at goals and assists, but Pato has the best goals to games ratio. If we consider that his season has been dogged by injuries until now, then the statistics he has are phenomenal.
We need to have a 'like' function in our website (see http://milanmania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26762&page=2 why we may be losing functions and have you say there!), because Dev's post is classic.

It all depends how much money Milan can take out from sell Pato... If we can take one more CF ( Balotelli, torres ) and one more IMPORTANT player like Ganso, Coentrao...then its ok... But to change Pato with Torres is not a smart move...

The arrival of Torres to Milan, depends entirely on the exit of Pato, who in the case of Milan has seen off we get the amount of 50 million euros, in this case is sure to come Torres, or at least (Edin Dzeko) .
While the rest of the centers must be through the budget and profit club and Berlusconi's own funds, where should I get Ganso (player FC Santos) or Lamela (player River Palte) in playmaker, and in the back must be enhanced through access Fabio Coentrao (player Benfica) .
In the line of defense, there are many options, I personally I think it is better to (Davide Astori of Cagliari), a defender for a young Italian who grew up in Milan Academy, and in this season offers outstanding level....

Ok so let's get this straight; we've had now two members on MM (Nando, Super Sheva) state that not only are we linked to Fernando Torres, it is very possible if not probable that we'll sell Pato and buy Torres. Also, there are rumors that Pato is trouble in the locker-room, a bit upset that Ibra is the focal point of the team, etc.
I can't believe this. Even if I see a source, I've never heard of these issues before. Also, in terms of quality, I believe Pato is better than Fernando Torres. Pato is faster, younger, and perhaps a better finisher. Also, Torres is injured all the time too, and he has no excuse because he's older.
I don't really want Balotelli, I didnt really want Cassano, but I certainly do NOT want Pato to leave. Instead, we must, and this is very important, get a player like Coentrao, Luiz, Ranocchia, Jucilei, Ganso, Lazzari,, and start replacing our Midfield and horrible defenders (Bonera, Oddo, Janku, Onyewu)
I'm not sure where this nonsense about Pato came from, but our forward line is NOT the problem...

Yea your right f. torres is not better than robinho , pato , or cassano do you realize what your saying ? , do you actually watch games ? , omg i swear , a healthy f. torres is as good or better than a healthy drogba or messi , height and strength always beats speed & dribbling , i guess roasting 6' 7" peu mertesacker for germany in euro 08 final is overated when hes barely 6'1" ? , go on youtube and watch the goal over and you'll see if any of our strikers besides ibra can do that , look you dont even have to respond , because i know you'll regret what you wrote .... :finger:

It's silly to discuss this about Torres. I don't know why they would EVER sell him.. they plan to make a come back and get in the CL, they don't want to get relegated, :ilol:

Before being aggressive in your reply to somebody, read the post carefully: "Every single one of our strikers is better than Torres right now, by quite alot to" ...
Torres was amazing in Atletico Madrid, but IMO, he hasn't improved since that time, mainly due to the several injuries he has had !!
Right now, and since last season, Torres has been everything you want but constant/regular, actually, since he's been in Liverpool, he has been unable to make a complete season to high level. Actually, this season, I even think Torres is not as good as when he was in Atletico.
The guy needs to leave Liverpool and England if he wants to launch again his career, because I think that his problem is not only about injuries but also confidence and happiness (Liverpool, except Joe Cole, hasn't bought one good player in years).
So it's not a scandal to claim that right now, today, our strikers are better than him. Of course, a 100% fit Torres is WC, but he's far from being at 100% and as a consequence, he's no more a WC striker (I have no doubts he will be WC again in some months/years).
About the rumours regarding Torres, he's linked with Barcelona nowadays, I didn't see anything linking this player to Milan ...
...
As far as stats go (source: ESPN), see below. I've shown Serie A stats only as that has been our primary goal this season and we're yet to see the same consistency in CL.
Ibrahimovic
Games played : 16 (0 as sub)
Goals : 9
Assists : 7
Pato
Games Played : 8 (2 as sub)
Goals : 6
Assists : 0
Inzaghi
Games Played : 5 (4 as sub)
Goals : 2
Assists : 0
Robinho
Games Played : 15 (4 as sub)
Goals : 6
Assists : 0
Ronaldinho
Games Played : 11 (4 as sub)
Goals : 0
Assists : 3
Ibra is our best performing forward if you look at goals and assists, but Pato has the best goals to games ratio. If we consider that his season has been dogged by injuries until now, then the statistics he has are phenomenal.
thx for searching for these stats....and they are exactly what i was thinking...Pato has an incredible scoring ratio...numbers don't lie
btw, i've been here for more than a yr now and always read everybody call u Dev but not sure why...would be nice to know :)
and for the guy who is attacking everybody for saying Torres is not good enough now...i suggest he watch some football
as for the 2 new members throwing around claims about Torres coming, well I couldn't care less and they can launch any transfer rumour they like....just don't go around throwing claims about Pato causing problems...not sure what the real reason behind doing that is...but i am sure it is not positive for Milan, so drop it plz

Could be Interisti? :5inter:
WTF !? ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT TORRES PLAYED INJURED IN THE WORLD CUP AND RIPPED HIS GROIN AT THE END OF THE FINAL IN EXTRA TIME ?
He got injured rite at the end, so nothing to do with his poor form. If a player is a true world class stuff, then he is useful even when 50% fit, e.g. Maradona-1990 & Totti-2006. Torres isn't world class anymore.
THATS WHY HE DIDNT START ! ? ,
He didn't start because of his pathetic displays in 5 matches in a row + they way David Villa over shadowed him big times & Spain had better quality players in Pedro, Silva etc
FLUKE 2 YEARS ? ARE YOU SMOKING CRACK ?
If some one scores 25 goals in one season & falls down to reality after that, that is called a fluke. Torres's first season with Liverpool was a fluke. Gilardino scored 17 goals in his first season with ACM & after that never really impressed.
I GUESS YOU FORGOT ABOUT ALL OF EL NINOS GOALS IN THE UEFA CL AND STILL WORKING HARD IN EUROPA LEAGUE ?
You will find 10 more strikers who will score the same number of goals if they play with Xavi, Alonso, Iniesta, Gerrard etc
HOW ABOUT WHEN HE SINGLED HANDEDLY DESTROYED CHELSEA THIS YEAR SCORING 2 GOALS BY HIMSELF WHEN THEY WERE ON FIRE ! ?
That's one match you are talking about. Chelsea also lost 3-0 at home to Sunderland. Does that mean ACM should also sign the scorers for Sunderland, Onuoha, Gyan & Welbeck?
I GUESS YOU DONT WATCH A LOT OF FOOTBALL DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MOUTH OFF AND DONT ANALYSE FOOTBALL ENOUGH ! ,
I think I watch more EPL football than anyone else on MM. So I guess I see more of Torres's than any other MM member. Plus you are forgetting the fact that I am the [B]BEST PUNDIT on MM, period.

I agree with many (not all) points on your posts, but seriously, stop using the f**kin all-bold and all-capitals. Others will think you're mental, mad, or something like that, and won't read your posts seriously. Besides, it's annoying.

Torres IMO is the best striker there is. no doubt about it. but he has been out of form for a long time now, mainly becouse of injuries. But I'm 100% he'll find his best form again, and than he's lethal!!
Drogba in england is better than him, but imo I'd prefer to keep Pato as IMO he's a better player at same age and will get better.
He's lost a bit of form and works the line well but as said I think our forwards will work better together than if we had Torres-ibra or whatever.
He wasn't great in Spain either. He was scored alot of goals from penalties.
He wasn't 1st choice for Spain due to injuries, but also because Villa is a better forward for Spain than Torres can hope to be.

Thumbs up to Dev. A wonderful illustration of what a great post is supposed to be.

No worries about the stats, it's something I was thinking about myself.
I'm called Dev as it's my name (well, nickname). Feel free to call me it if you prefer :)
There's a lot of talk of Torres lately and I must say I really see little point in getting him (if the so called rumours for which there are no sources at this point are true).
The player for me is an enigma, and one which I think is a huge risk for us. At Atletico he showed he had talent, but was always considered a player with great potential rather than a star. At Liverpool he took the step up and got himself acknowledged on the world stage. Nowerdays, he's still considered one of the best, but one who is suffering a lot due to injuries.
That's all fair and we all know he's talented, but it's not the complete picture, especially when looking at a supposed replacement for Pato. Torres wasn't a great goalscorer at Atletico, despite all the promise he showed. At Liverpool, his record in the league is outstanding (not far off a goal a game), but there's a considerable drop when he plays in Europe (less than 1 goal every 2 games) and this season his form has nosedived (of course injuries play their part too). For Spain Torres isn't exactly great, averaging a goal every 3/4 games or so. My question is why is this? In the Premiership he's brilliant, but otherwise he's not a great goalscorer (a necessity for a Pato replacement). One explanation could well be he's well suited to English football, but not necessarily other styles of the game. What worries me is if he comes to Milan and isn't the great goalscorer of the Premiership, then he will struggle in Milan.
I also have other hesitations. His injuries are a huge issue. If this is supposedly one of the reasons to replace Pato, then Torres isn't really our man.
He will also cost a fortune, which again is a huge risk for an injury prone forward who may not be a great goalscorer in Milan.
Finally, my doubt in Torres is his age. Pato has yet to reach the heights he's capable of, but he's also only 21. Torres is 26 and soon will be 27. We've already got Ibra, Robinho and pretty much Cassano within this age group, all very high quality forwards. We don't need another forward who is in his prime at this point. For me, a forward who we can build our future around is much better imo.

First off, Merry Xmas and wish that there are more presents from Berlu and Galli beside Cassano.
On the topic of Torres. When he is fit, he is one of the top strikers in the world and might be the best one on one against defender in the world since Ronaldo was skinny.
He is probably the perfect striker in a counter attack system due to his speed, size and one on one skill.
That's probably why he struggles in Spain Natl and will struggle in Milan. As Milan plays off Ibra.
What about Edin Dzeko?
Is he a penalty box striker?
He's an all round forward, much like Ibra in that he has the speed and technique to operate as wide player and also can pass well enough to drop into am.

Dzeko is more like Henry.
I have to say I see no way Pato will stay in Milan next year... I dont know... Maybe if he recovers and plays without injuries untill thze end etc. Galliani has bought too many forwards... It all looks like Pato will be sold for some good money.
If Galliani finds a good way to use that money, on players like Ganso and Coentrao, I'd be ok but also sad as Pato is one of the players I adores as soon as I saw how he plays his football.
Right now we have unbelievable duo up front: Pato-Ibra, where Pato can finnally find his space as a classic no.9, like Romario played. Robinho cannot do that, also Cassano.
------------------------------------------------------------
News say we are in for Montolivo... we'll that would be something. If Cassano is to replace Pippo and Montolivo to replace Dinho we have a team that can win scudetto without a doubt, unless we destroy unrselves.
Montolivo is near the end of his conreact, so is MExes... there are 4eports Mexes could join us... we all know he has been Galliani's favorite since ever. For sure, as a 3rd CB, he is a very good option! Later on he will still be a 3rd Cb as Luiz will arrive and NEsta retire :)
But pleeease.... find just ONE fullback that can play decent football on the left... for now.
Those are all smart moves: Cassano for nothing, Mexes neard the end of contract, Montolivo... good work by Galliani.

I'm all for Ganso, but not at expense of Pato, and Montolivo is not a R80 replacement. Frankly I don't rate that player, not Contreao. Too weak with the ball and defending.
Mexes is scum, a liability, more than Bonera. He can stay in roma or go to buve. Not the player for Milan.
Reports of the day are about Galliani negotiating with Genoa to give them Paloschi in January and keep on a definitive basis Boateng. If we could also take the 50% of Rannochia to them, that would be awesome !!
I watched the guy several times, and he is a lot better than Bonucci who is already a very good prospect for the Italian NT ... Nesta himself told that Rannochia was the player who seemed the most able to be the next great Italian defender.
By taking these 50% to Genoa, we would then have to make a bid to Inter (or Inter to us), and like the guy is worth a lot of money, I think we should give a try for him !! We have nothing to lose: on one hand, we get a new very promising player and Inter doesn't, on another hand, we get money from Inter. It's a perfect deal IMO, win-win situation for us, no matter what happens.
And I also rate Rannochia more highly than David Luiz who could be among the best defenders in the world once he will join a big club ... David Luiz has maybe a little more experience right now, but Rannochia is simply the perfect defender (don't ask him to take the ball and go in attack, the guy simply takes the ball and gives it to a midfielder, no risk): excellent on tackles, a wall in one-on-one, classy, qualities Nesta has had.
Galliani, come on, get Rannochia !! Our defence would be amazing (and what could be better for both Rannochia and Milan to have this player, who plays like the young Nesta, learning along Nesta himself ?!) ...

Not trying to not believe in you but do you watch Rannochia regularly GeoTav? Well, if there is a quality italian CB Milan should chase him even with higher price (as long as not so much higher than same quality of non-italian defender).

Regularly isn't the right word as I'm not a fan of Genoa and as a consequence, I don't watch all their games ... But I watched several games of Genoa this first half of season and he was always excellent, and I also watched him when he was along Bonnuci in Bari and that was a great partnership.

Aha ok.
About the news, I read that Inter try to buy the half of that defender's contract by giving Genoa certain sum of money (10 mil?) plus player.
Is there any news linking us with that defender (what I understand the news is only about Paloschi but you hope that we also go for that defender)?

Not bursting your bubble but it is very tough to get 50% of Rannochia. Personally, I would rather have David Luiz though. Probably bc I seen Luiz played more over the past two years. only saw some Bari games last season and Rannochia and Bonnucci played off each other really well, only saw him at Genoa once and he was okay.

Ranocchia should have been bought last year while he was playing for Bari. He showed very good performances with Bonucci and look how bad that team is now without them...
It seems we won't get him as Inter want him, and we have never showed any interest.
Mexes is not an option....I hope.
Dzeko is also not an option as Wolfsburg want €30-40 Million, and no one seems willing to pay that, certainly not Milan with Ibra, Pato, Robinho, and Cassano in their lineup.
I do not want Torres. As I explained earlier, he is 26, he has just as many injuries at Pato, and Pato has more potential, end of story.
As of now, we've been linked with signing Boateng permanently from Genoa. We're also linked with Reto Ziegler for LB along with Lazio and Juventus.
No links lately with Coentrao, Jucilei, D. Luiz, or Ganso Paulo Henrique.
Juventus are linked with Poli (apparently close), Gomez, Dzeko, Ziegler, and Benzema.
Inter are linked with Ranocchia, and Kaka. Also, Leonardo is trying to lure Paolo Maldini to be assistant coach at Inter, :ilol::scream::haha::rotfl:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In other news, Cassano has apparently asked for Milan to hire his personal trainer, Agostino Tibaudi and they've said point blank NO!

About Dzeko, I also read that Real Madrid was ready to pay for him, but the player would want 6M a year (right now, it seems he earn 4.5M a year) which would have frozen Real Madrid and other clubs like Juventus. By being too greedy, the guy could waste his career by staying for too long in Wolfsburg.

Yes I agree. I said this a few days ago, but because all of this Fernando Torres conversation, I guess it was not discussed.
In other words, Dzeko could have let his contract expire and could have left in June 2010. Instead, he re-signed with Wolfsburg in Aug of 2009 and is now tied to them until 2013. Now, because he costs so much and wants such a large salary, he seems to be stuck there. What a weird situation. As I said, he could have left for free to ANY club he wanted, then he could have probably gotten his €6 Million/year because there would be no transfer fee. Very confusing, and he probably deserves whatever he gets....
Damn, let's forget Ranocchia as TMW reports he left the Genoa camp today and will join Inter when they'll start their winter preparation ...
Lucio, Chivu (as it is reported Leo wants to use him as a CB), Ranocchia, Cordoba: that's a good central defence for Inter if that really happens.
If I were Berlu, I would add a CB too just to show them we will compete on all fronts !! :D
EDIT: Modesto and Palladino didn't join their partners of Genoa, it seems they will go in Parma, and from Parma, Antonelli and Paloschi will join Genoa.

Genoa has spent 7 m euros plus Modesto and Palladino for Paloschi and Antonelli. 7 m euros and Modesto is good price for Antonelli. ex Milan Primavera. maybe they can sell Criscito to us.
Constant could move to Genoa via Milan. We were sleeping when inter signed half of Ranocchia, and we signed Papa. :)
i hope that we move for David Luiz and quality fullback soon. Criscito is good player yet a little bit overrated, still much better than our current options.
Rannochia is an Inter player for past 6 months if you ask me... the talk started at the beggining of the year. We missed on him badly...
It doesnt matter, lets hope Galliani has some kind of a solution for a LB position. If we do not have the money for a player like Coentrao now, we can buy Bale later :) Kidding... We can go for Criscito, who has played well this year. And is a better player then Antonini, Zambro etc.
So Cassano will be our Xmas gift :D
No problem if Mexes & Montolivo come, they both are good players.

As long as they are free or cheap (due to the contract's expiry), I agree. They are good at least for backup. But first we have to let one of our CB go, either Yepes, Sokratis or Bonera (I am not sure if Gouch is counted for Milan player). Montolivo could add creativity in the midfield. If we however have to pay pretty much money for them, we should take better player.

Milan has an agreement to sign Erik Lamela for 12 million euros
Tuttosport reports Galliani worked on the deal while he was in Brazil.... I knew Galliani does not usually travel unless he wants to buy someone.

Sportmediaset are also now reporting this as well and they say that Milan are waiting for Lamela to get his Italian passport in the next couple of months so that he can come in June without taking a Non-EU spot.
Rumors are saying that Cagliari is going to sign Kasami from Palermo. Kasami is a similar player to Lazzari and is 18 years old and is a highly rated youngster, who hasnt found space this year in Palermos offensive star lineup. This could free up Lazzari to Milan.
With Cassano and possibly Lazzari/Lamela in, does this rule out Ganso? It's a shame if we do indeed give up on him, Ganso looks like a typical AC Milan player. His class off the field, on the field, his personality. Oh yeah and if we do indeed get Lamela, I'm pretty sure we will be seeing Pato off to Real Madrid for a good sum in the summer.

That's a lot of money for someone who has only one year playing pro football. But he's not an unknown player like that what's-his-name LB Braida brought. Various scouting sites speak highly of him, and his natural position is a trequartista, something that we lack now. But let's just wait until it's official.
While Galliani is at it, he might as well finish off Dinho's saga.
I think, Milan top priority was Ganso but his injury could however change Milan's interest. After such long injury in young age Ganso needs to prove himself again.
Lamela is also not bad. Barca chased him since he was 12-13 years old and Lamela is still there right now. It should means that he was not a talent that would disappear in the next 5 years or so.
12 mil euros could be a lot of money but seeing the interest of Barca when he was still a kid, I still think it is a good price. About Pato, I don't see the connection between Lamela and Cassano with Pato. Cassano will come almost free (cost only 1,5 mil euros) and his wage will be 'only' 2,8-3 mil euros, far away from wage's standard for player like him. Lamela will cost 'only' 12 mil euros and his wage would be 'very' low, like Pato when he came here, he earned only about 1 mil euro per season. So, if Lamela comes to Milan, I don't see Pato's leaving.

I agree. What does Lamela have to do with Pato. They play 2 totally different positions. Lamela is supposedly a trequartista, Pato a #9.
Looks like Ganso won't happen. I'm really curious how this team will shape up in the next year. We still don't know who will play ACM for us this year (Cassano?), and also what's happening with us in the back.

Siregar is right about Hottor. We signed him from Triestina, so it doesn't matter that he doesn't have a EU passport.
Robinho should have EU-pass if he applied for it. I just found out that people from latin america country need to be a resident in Spain for at least 2 years to get a Spanish passport and Robinho had lived in Spain for about 3 years.

My assumption was that if we get Lamela then we won't be getting another ACM. We will then potentially have 3 (ganso, lamela, cassano). So, I look at Lamela as a direct replacement to Ronaldinho and Seedorf who currently occupy that position. Then we'll have 5 strikers (Ibra, Pato, cassano, Robinho, Inzaghi). We'll see how this all fits into place by August I think.

it seems he is a trequartista like Ganso, so we cant say no Ganso anymore. no Pastore :)
A guy from Brescia (manager ? coach ? other ?) said on TMW that Caracciolo wants only one thing for his career: playing in Milan. He said that if Milan was to make a bid for him, they should consider it as it's his dream to be in Milan.
So actually, by saying that, Brescia makes Caracciolo being available for us ... and if we are really going to buy another striker (in some reports, it was claimed that Cassano was just the direct replacement for Ronaldinho and we could get another striker to replace Inzaghi like it was expected), I'd choose Caracciolo without any problem.

Caracciolo could help beating down these wall of defenses in Serie A. While he lacks class, you know he will put efforts until his last breathe to help the team. A good workman type player in Serie A has a spot on our bench as a sub IMO.

For those of you who don't know Andrea Caracciolo, he's 29 years old, 1.94m, 80kg, and this year has 5 goals and 1 assist in 15 appearances for Brescia. Brescia are in 18th place, but he's their bright spot.
He's never scored more than 11 goals, scoring 11 goals 2 seasons in a row for Palermo. He also scored 10 goals for Brescia in 2006. He's bounced around from Brescia, to Palermo, Sampdoria, Perugia, and now back at Brescia. He didn't play in Serie A last year. He's a big guy, and not a bad 4th striker (penalty box) that can come in when others are injured or for Coppa Italia.
He is 3 years older than Alessandro Matri. I can't see Caracciolo being more than €3 Million or so, and although Geo said Brescia would be willing to sell, that would for sure mean relegation for them. Personally, I'd like to see this:
Forwards: Ibrahimovic, Pato, Robinho, Inzaghi (Matri)
ACM: Ganso, Cassano
Cassano sub for Ganso
Robinho sub for Ibra
Matri/Inzaghi sub for Pato
*** However, as Hitman has pointed out, at some point we have to give our Primavera players a chance (Adiyiah, Verdi)
Many people here talk about Cassano as a ACM but i don't know if I'm ok with that personally. Cassano in that position will pose the same problems to us that Ronaldinho did. Which is no pressure. He will be great when we are in possession but won't be too much of a help when we don't. We will lose our balance again. This is the exact same reason why Allegri wouldn't play Ronaldinho. And the Cassano until this date, (although may have more work-rate then Dinho) isn't much better then Dinho when it comes to chasing the ball and helping out the other 3 midfielders. Now if Cassano changes this in his game, it might be a different conversation but I'm not so sure that he will.
Having said this, it's obvious that Allegri knows this by saying that Cassano is a forward (but adding that things change in football and being very political). Which it leads me to believe that something will go down in Milan this summer because I'm not so sure that Ibra,Pato,Cassano,Robinho can all co-exist fighting for 2 spots. They will all think of themselves as starters. And this isn't "Football Manger" where you can just rotate them and be ok. They need games under their belts as forwards. They will need to play together to learn the movements and get used to each other. So rotation will not be an option here. So then who is the 4th striker there. (keeping in mind that I personally think of Cassano as a forward and given that we'll stick to the 4-3-1-2)
Just my 2 cents on the whole thing. And if Ronaldinho leaves we will probably get someone else to replace him.
Actually, by not using Cassano as a CAM but by letting him play like he usually does, we could play with Cassano, Ibra and Pato together ...
I explain, on paper, we would use 3 strikers and it would be a bad idea.
But on the pitch, Cassano tends to move a bit like Ibrahimovic because he likes to touch the ball, so Ibra and Cassano would mainly stay behind Pato, which would be a kind of new Christmas Tree (more attacking one), with Ibra and Cassano moving well off the ball and being a kind of first pressing wall. By doing that, Pato wouldn't have to always track back (even if I'd prefer if he does it).
Just a thought I had ...
I think there is no urgent need for a trequartista, because if the 4 man midfield is packed with defensive players, Ibrahimovic & the other striker can do the creative part easily. In short, ACM already has hard working strikers so no need for a trequartista rite now.
Ibrahimovic Cassano
Flamini Pirlo Boateng
Ambrosini/Gattuso
Its should be good enough to beat any one in the Italian way :devs:
Also let the management learn some harsh lessons by missing out on a player like R.VdV this summer :r11:

VDV is the sort of player that likes to be the big fish in a little pond, he likes to be the best player in the team, he wouldnt be able to cope with being an average player in our Midfield when played with Pirlo
It doesn't matter what VDV wants. First is what Milan want and Milan don't want him. I agree with Milan. He is good player but Milan should look at better quality to fill in playmaker or CAM spot.

i think that we wont sign both Luiz and Coentraro, if its up to me, i'd sign both of them. Luiz is one of the best defenders of his genaration, would form a steal partneship with our Thiago Silva, nesta is aged, also considering his injuries, we had better to sign him and however honestly, i have a feeling that Milan will go for Mexes and we will end up with him, because his contract is expring and Roma will deal perman. Borriello, in this case, Mexes is very close to us if you ask me.
it seems we are more Criscito, Mexes than Coentraro and Luiz cuz they are cheap unlike them...

Yea I agree. I think Milan's backline has not been really reliable since (Staam, Nesta, Maldini, Cafu)... I think since then Berlusconi and Galliani have care more about Forwards (Sheva, Inzaghi, Kaka, Ronaldo, Huntelaar, Borriello, Ibra, Robinho, Cassano, Pato)...
Since Ranocchia's ship has sailed and the talent pool for CB's seems to be slim, then Luiz is very important to us. Would be funny to have 2 Brazilian CB's as the wall of Milan:D
Criscito not a terrible option, but I prefer Coentrao. Luiz seems a must at this point, given Nesta's age, Sokratis and Yepes' performances, and the lack of other quality CB's around.

What is all the talks about Blotelli?
When Balotelli left Inter for Man City, there were immediate links to Milan. Balotelli and Ibra both were quoted as wanting to play with each other, and Balotelli said he wants to go to Milan one day. Galliani then said Balotelli will be a Milan player one day.... Balo scored a Hat Trick yesterday against Aston Villa, and I don't think he's going anywhere. Plus we have a lot of forwards now. If we get rid of Inzaghi and Cassano, then even still we would have Ibra, Pato, and Robinho (3 WC players)... so as other posters have said, how do you rotate 4 strikers? Seems impossible to me...
The only thing I don't like about Cassano's arrival is that it has completely locked the door for the potential ACM next-stars like Dzeko, Nilmar & G.Rossi. I would prefer all of them to Robinho for sure, to some extent Ibrahimovic & even Pato if continues to struggle with injuries like a 33 year old.
Will we ever see a $hevchenko type striker again in ACM :depress:

Regardless the real quality of both players mentioned by Boban, I don't see any mistake with 'milan material and aren't milan material". Our current and financial willing shouldn't be the reason we decrease our quality very fast. With current financial situation we can still get players that are similar quality with what we have done with of course much reduced price. Examples are how quality players like Ibra and Robinho were brought with discounted price or transfer of talents like Pato and Silva.
Milan is still Milan, is not a small club like Bari, Casena or so. We should have certain level of quality for our future players especially for our starters. With our financial problem we naturally need time to build a team that have quality suit to our level.

I understand what you're saying but it is rare we will be able to pull off deals like Ibra and Robinho. Plus, we let a lot of our older guys retire and never sold them for money (Oddo, Favalli, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Serginho, Cafu)....
Some of these contracts (Janku, Oddo) were overpriced and now we're eating that.. we were lucky to offload Kaldze.
Anyways, teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea can buy who they want when they want. Yes they are in debt but they seem not to care about that. I'm not sure how that will all work out. Anyways, we desperately need a LB and then we will need to replace Pirlo/Seedorf/Ambrosini/Gattuso. Also as we've said a CB and a striker to replace Inzaghi. This will cost money as we have nothing to sell. Players come to Milan and retire here. There are good things about that but also financially, a bad thing, and that is that we don't re-coup any money.
We will struggle in Champions League if we do not buy a WC LB and then an ACM, and also a CB when Nesta goes....I don't see any bargains as answers to those problems.

Agreed... Milan seem to be a place where careers are ended like Qatar etc..players become old and useless and we cant off load them for chips to any club...with that said, now we NEED world class re-enforcements like a heart transplant and if we dont get them we are as good as dead... injuries are inevitable esp for Nesta and we struggle without him and Silva in the line up as the other squad players are liabilities!!! if we need good quality players we have to splash the cash and be competitive in the transfer market... but the million dollar question is "Where is he Money going to come from?" we cant operate in a massive debt like other clubs because our revenue and chances of winning trophies/prizes or gaining TV revenue from long runs in the champions league are very slim (esp without the required new signings)... my best guess it to take the risk and invest in some good players and try to win some prise money eg. CL or league title or both!!! What happen to that 15 mil from fly emirates?

Of course. The key is spending money smartly. No more signing a player like Ronaldinho, a player in rapid declining of performance with huge wage wage. Or old players with big wages. We already know that league like La Liga has advantage regarding tax of player's wages and we did give our players so much money for their wages. If Milan, for example, can spare 5 million euros per year for wages, it means Milan will have about 10 mil euros per year to add into transfer budget due to almost 50% tax in Italy.
Milan could also buy players in which their contracts are ending but again should be careful of their wages since players out of contract normally cost more in wages than players bought with transfer fee.
Spending money for transfer is however still very important. Super talents should be priority since their price will be at least double in just 1-2 years and Milan can't buy them when they already play in big club or even in mediocre club like Palermo since their price will be crazy.
It is hard to make Milan filled with quality players similar like before but it shouldn't be a barrier that block Milan to do that (getting quality players).

I like this Coentreao dude, but conventional wisdom shows that wide-defenders in the Portugese liga aren't really good at defending. Look at Bosingwa for instance. The guy lit up the league with his surging runs down the flanks, strength and remarkable recovery but in England he's looked more like a luxury player most of the time he's played.

BREAKING NEWS: Milan Confirm Ronaldinho Will Leave The Club In January
Adriano Galliani revealed that Ronaldinho will definitely be leaving Milan this winter...
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that Ronaldinho will indeed be leaving the club in January after a meeting with the player's brother and agent Roberto De Assis.
The 30-year-old has been linked with an exit, with many feeling the writing was on the wall after limited appearances this season under coach Massimiliano Allegri and the acquisition of Antonio Cassano from Sampdoria.
"We mutually agreed that Ronaldinho will leave Milan in January. Now he had no desire to train because he no longer felt he was a part of the project," Galliani was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"Now he will return to Brazil and be sold. To who? Whoever offers the most money."
Ronaldinho joined the Rossoneri in 2008 from Barcelona for a reported fee of €18.5 million. He is currently ranked 234th in the Castrol Rankings despite having a minimal impact for the league-leaders this season.

Don't know what to take from this Dinho thing as 8mil for a player like him should be a bargain but somehow there is no takers! If I am a manager on a mid table team wanting some instant impact, I would sign him right away for 8mil as he is worth it at that price. Just the new sponsors, shirt sales and publicity are worth the fees and wages.
8 million for a player who is again out of sorts and allegedly partying too much and not being professional and is not young anymore is no such a great deal. I hear what you ate saying but for million you can get a young hungry Brazilian player.
lol, probably not really anyone besides Reza I think. Most of those who post and XT don't post here anymore, and I only ever read XT rather than join (with all due respect too many idiots and off topic posts there).
Anyway, we have some really good posters even if the forum isn't as busy as in the past.
What about Debs? Is she still around?
Just curious, to people joke aroun here or is everybody super serious about everything?

i've not seen Debs post for quite a while and yeah we joke, usually in the match threads rather than in the Mercato threads
I was just wondering. That other guy said something about not liking XT because of off topic posts but to be honest, so long they don't kill a thread, the off topic side comments can make for some great times.

No offense, but anyone calling some respectable members 'dumbasses' should be banned according to the MM forum rules & you are demanding apology :dcool:
I don't call anyone, read my posts again. Those are only for the people who supposedly don't read my posts completely then jump into irritating conclusions. Maybe that includes YOU, but only if you feel you are.
You were given teeth twice for free, the third time you need them you have to buy!!!:w209: thats the thing i dont like about the internet you can escape a proper ass kicking... count your blessings:rocky: and just let it end here:v103:!!!
lets keep the transfer rumors going...
FORZA MILAN!!!
Taken. Just don't use 'crap' words extensively, especially when commenting another's posts, especially before you know what the meaning is. Otherwise, case closed. :5ok:

The reason XT is so lame is because of those off topic posts. They are absolutely terrible and time wasting. I read topics there to find some info but instead I see them talking about their work life, travel plans, and girls.... This place is good because there is the right place for everything.... Anyway we've already gone way off topic for this thread, this is hoping it never gets to that level.
Sop wats the deal with Dinho? Lamella? Constant? I really like constant n last I heard is we have an agreement with him and Chievo. Negotiations with Lamella still on going, last rumour is 18 m. 2 days ago we were suppose to pay Dinho 3.5 mil to end his contract, now Galliani (fking legend) is saying Gremio needs to pay us 8m to get Dinho (which IMO is how it shudda been).

Welcome Dae.
Good to have some newbies on board.:grinser:
I guess I kind of like the banter about life in addition to the football talk. I've made some pretty good friends that way.
Anyway, I was reading that Lamela was close to done. Problem is the papers and news sites like to take a blip of near truth and write stories.
Welcome Dae.

I assume this is the same Tony75 of XT?;)
Yeah, I am lookin for a new Milan home base. I am not sure what happened with me there, but lately the local sport seems to be mocking me every time I ask something. I don't have time for it. My posting days in that forum (I still like other XT forums) may be done.
Anyone can tell us a bit about Lamela?? I've never seen him play. It seems like he is sought after by many clubs and I've read good things plenty of times. But just wondering if someone can give a better idea of the kind of player he is?!?!?! Thanks in advance
I understand he is a playmaking 10. very skilled on the ball etc. I have not seen him play
Hi Dae, I won't comment about XT, my few recent posts there haven't been very interesting or insightful so if xt's not been good I haven't helped it either.
In my opinion MM is not strict or rough but not way too off topic either.
EDIT: Regarding Debs, she has stepped back for a while, but she is the owner of the site/domain.

Nefremo from the little I've seen lamela is a modern playmaker. He seems really talented (he's been hyped since he was very young) but while a playmaker he is quite different in his approach to the game than ganso (another we obviously talk about). In many ways I would say if people are to compare ganso to zidane then lamela to me seems closer to kaka or pastore. However as I said I haven't seen a huge amount of lamela.
Dae about xt, it's not a bad forum (it has some very interesting posts at times) but I do notice quite a lot of threads descend into off topic discussion. Personally I prefer to just come on the forums to solely discuss/read about Milan. The other thing I really dislike about xt is the number of idiots on there. This is inevitable on a large forum, but personally I'd rather not waste time reading mindless taunts from a bunch of clueless inter fans.
who is gremios most talented player, because, i wouldnt mind a swap r80 for a young talented brazilian, they may not be as scouted as Ganso and Neymar, but a diamond in the rough would be good.

I agree that there are a lot of trolls an imbeciles who only like to talk crap. But you get that in a multiple-team message board.
Ad for off topic some threads get serial that way but some simply run out of football stuff to say and then somebody cracks a joke and off they go.
But I hear ya, many have the same feelings.

I read but don't post often at XT. I think I made perhaps 200 posts in 10 years (I have a different username there). I just don't feel that I belong there. I won't say why. :)

Hey, I used to run the place.....no really, with a few other Admins, and I don't feel like I belong anymore. At least in the Milan forum.

Erik Lamela - born 1992, Argentina (called the Argentinian Kaka)
Lucas Piazon - born 1994, Brazil (called the new Kaka in Brazil)
Two future star, who would be the better signing for us?

Interesting comparison. According to rumors Milan tried to sign him for Primavera but he wanted to stay in Brasil. I don't know if he has been played with first team. Lamela just came up to the first team and only has some games with the senior team.
If we can, try all of them if they are really good. Under Allegri, we can make a team like Barca. :D

We would want to move if we are to get D.Luiz http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2010/12/31/2284313/benfica-reject-chelseas-197-million-bid-for-defender-david ...even though we got Ibra Binho and Cass recently I dont think we will pay 25 - 30 million D.Luiz he is probably out of our range.
Lamela 18 million is that fair what River are asking I have not seen him play. But I honestly think as do you that a CB a LB and an ACM are what we need so Lamela Luiz and Coentrao what would that cost around 60 million ?? I'd imagine that Criscito and Mexes and maybe Lamela is more realistic.
But if our mgt all be it at a different time wouldnt pay 8 million for Pastore or Jovetic will they go 18 for Lamela.Either way Im happy with the way we have gone and they way we look to be heading , but I would love Luiz and a quality LB doesnt have to be Coentrao.

They have Mario Fernandez who is highly rated, who can play RB and CB. only 20 years old.

Yah, I thought so too. Not so sure now.
I'm sure this is a dumb question but who is this Constant fellow we are linked with? I know all about Lamela but know nothing about Constant.

Hiya Dae welcome aboard bro....Constant is a French born Guniea International , he plays for Chievo was at Chateauroux before that he's a midfielder.I have only seen him a few times but the times I saw him he looked a good player with potential to be better if he had top quality players around him....He's only 23 aswell.
Thanks.:).
I found a clip of him playing us this season. He looks ok. I guess for 4 million it's not such a risk
Just out of curiosity, you male or female? :D

sorry to disappoint you all but there seems to be some solid rumors floating around that we will sign Toni... they say an agreement was found from Galliani-Preziosi's meeting in Brazil today....
I was already disappointed with Cassano's appointment because Pato will be leaving... if Toni comes in that will mean Pato out for sure... and will officially be the end of Fillipo Inzaghi :(
Please no Toni! Use Beretta instead!

Oh man. Come on. No convincing reasons why should Pato go if Cassano comes. I thought it has been discussed before?

I am sure that Toni will be gone in May, that is, if we ever get him.
I got this from another Milan forum that Ronaldinho has left Dubai. It is almost certain that he will be gone in no time.

I was expecting (and even hoping) to see this, but still can't help feeling saddened. :(
Toni is a move that should have happened five years ago. Now it is pointless. We don't even need him by any stretch of the imagination.
Cassano at least has some potential upside. I am not a lover of the transfer but ok, fine. Toni is done!

I read the Toni deal is very unlikely with Preziosi unwilling to sell. I heard the meeting in Brazil was more about Boateng.
I don't think Cassano means Pato will leave, and Toni for me wouldn't make a difference (if he's signed it might be to add another striking option to our squad).
I'm not sure, but I also read Allegri is a little concerned with the midfield right now. I think he meant mainly with regards to injuries, but it could have meant signing a new player (we're apparently still pushing for Lazzari according to milannews and Constant seems close).
Dae you will quickly come to find mzk is one of our more colourful posters, one who proclaims himself the best pundit at MM ;)

Happy New Year MilanMania! :djn::3band::3band::3band:
Welcome new members... nice to see the forum a little busier than usual. Last month or two it's been very quiet.
In regards to the news,
* I agree with XUDONG, Ronaldinho needs to leave, and it would be nice to get some €€€ for him in the process. However, it also in a way saddens me that he never rediscovered his Barcelona form and is official done. He was a great player, perhaps all-time great, although it was just for a few years.
* I don't believe these Luca Toni rumors, he's a guy I wish we had bought in 2004-2005, but not now. He's finished more than Ronaldinho.
* Hitman: why do you keep saying Pato is gone because of Cassano??? In fact, why is EVERYONE saying Pato will be gone. All of this negative energy and talking about it will bring on the inevitable. He will leave at some point, most likely he won't stay like Maldini, but hopefully he can stay 5 more years, and win a Champions League with us. If we lose him because of a guy like Cassano, or Toni, that would be a JOKE, and I don't think Galliani would allow that.
* Lastly, I don't know much about Lamela, but we need a hard working ACM who moves off the ball, can create, help out midfield, and shoot from outside the box. Ganso seems like a guy I'd want, but it looks as if that won't happen. Also, Jucilei doesn't seem like a go. If we can get one or two of those guys, I'd accept Criscito instead of Coentrao.
Bottom line is there are a lot of unanswered questions regarding what direction our club will go in ..in 2011 and beyond. We have many players to replace within 2-3 years ( Inzaghi, Nesta, Yepes, Onyewu, Jankulovski, Oddo, Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Ronaldinho, Seedorf) (11 Players), and that's assuming Cassano works out.
What about Acquafresca? Matri? Verdi? to replace Inzaghi... and keep Pato, Ibra, Robinho, and Cassano. Use Cassano as ACM or sell him in MAY!!!!!!
:3band:

I've mentioned this before, but Manchester City has Jerome Boateng, Wayne Bridge, and Aleksander Kolarov. Surely, they can't keep 3 Solid (if not WC) Left Full Backs. They have to sell 1 or 2.
Should we make a move?
and Brasileiro, what are you hearing in South America regarding Ronaldinho saga, as well as Ganso Paulo Henrique, Jucilei, and also Lamela from Argentina?????
Brasileiro? Is the same Brasileiro that posts at XT? Great poster if it is.

Yeah, and all we will get is Wayne Bridge.

Not one of these is solid never mind WC.
I'd prefer to blood De Vito and see how he goes.
Not too pushed on Contreao either. He's weak defensively.
Cissokho would've been a great choice.
