Boating is pretty solid.
Anyhow, Toni is a temp fix and nothing more. Cassano coming does not mean Pato is leaving.

Cassano at his younger years was a striker, a second striker to be more specific. Growing up he came through a few problems at several clubs, but he always has been a second striker at club level. For Italy he played as a trequartista in Euro 2004 (or was it second striker?). I think the first time he has played as a true trequartista was with Prandelli's Italy, and that was only for 3-4 games where he impressed on an attacking level but not so much on the defensive. It's still unknown whether Cassano can play as a trequartista or not, because that role requires a lot of work rate, probably the most along with the defensive midfielder position...so I am not sure he is the one for that spot.
In conclusion, Cassano is a second striker, exactly what Robinho is. Pato and Ibra are also second strikers that can both play as center forwards. Cassano, Robinho and Ibra were all bought in the last 5 months, both Binho and Ibra have impressed so much and seem dedicated to the Milan cause. Cassano also looks like he will impress because it is his last chance here, there's no denying his talent, it's just that little head of his that can cause a problem.
This brings us to Pato, who was bought for 22m, was here for 3 years, and has spent the most of the last year on the sidelines. Milan in recent years has been very tight on budget, and all of sudden went crazy and splashed at the end of the market. We also seem to be willing to splash alot more in 2011 when a lot of players contracts expire. Also, with the financial fair play rules coming in, Milan does not really generate alot of income because we do not own the San Siro, so it will be hard to spend alot in the market in the future. Selling Pato for a good 70m will give us a very good budget to use in the future and it seems as the most likely scenario. That's from the financial aspect, and from Pato's aspect - he's 21 - he needs to play consistently - he's competing for two spots against 3 players who each are leaders and captains of their national teams - and all of which have joined Milan in the last 5 months. Potentially, Pato is better than all of them, but I fear that Milan have lost their patience with all the time he spends on the sidelines and the investment they spent in him, so they want to do the smart thing and get as much cash as they can from him at the right time (a la Kaka).
Selling Pato for 70m and bringing in Balotelli (the future of Italy) for about 30 seems to the most likely scenario. Personally if I was in charge, I would leave my striker department as is and not buy Toni or whoever, and make a decision in the summer of 2012 about whether I want to keep Pato or not. I know he has the potential to be the world's best, and if we were to sell him I'd like to do it at a point where he is the world's best and we can get a crazy 100m fee for him.
Pato could potentially be the fourth choice striker depending on form. His work-effort is also nothing like Ibra or Robinhos. And that, is why I think Cassano to Milan could mean the end of Pato in Milan..especially for a large enough fee that can reinforce our entire team for the next decade.
I'd love to know where people are getting this opinion that the club are loosing patience with Pato. It's ridicolous.
Pato on form is better than all 3 of Ibra, Cassano, & Robinho, and only Ibra is the clear leader for Sweden compared to the other 2.
No way would we get Balotelli for 30 mill.
We don't go crazy at end of market either. We only spent on Robinho and got the option for Ibra which should be covered with the saved wages of players like Janku, R80, etc.
Pato is our future and as soon as his growth spurts stop you'll see a player with limited injury worries, barring the club putting him on a crazy fitness regime not suited for his body type ie his ligaments and tendons not being able to cope.
As for work-rate I think that Ibra, Robinho & Cassano know that they are in last chance saloon for big clubs and maybe winning something so have to work harder. Pato's effort will come when he grows a bit more.
Balloteli is a disgrace of a football player. I would have a heart attack if a loser like him joins a prestigious club like AC Milan. Even if Pato is sold (which I doubt big times :mex:) the replacement must be any 2 out of Dzeko, Nilmar & Rossi. If Balloteli had slight bit of qualities, the greatest coach of modern era wouldn't have kicked him out of the team for a mediocre player like Pandev

I agree with last two posts.
However, saying "Pato's effort will come when he grows more" sounds silly. He needs to work more on the last defender, play as a number 9, but even Inzaghi runs and works more.
In regards to addition of Cassano, I don't link that with Pato's effort. I place our strikers in this way:
Ibra
Robinho
Cassano
--------------
Pato
Inzaghi
I don't like Cassano coming as we already have 2 World Class Second Strikers. I'm still very confused as to why he's here. We need another number 9 as Inzaghi is gone soon, and Pato's always injured. Also, Ibra always plays better when he plays off of a big strong penalty box striker (Adriano)...
I would have preferred Matri, Roque Santa Cruz, or Dzeko (:D)
The idea is when Inzaghi leaves to have 2 #9 style strikers and 2 Second Strikers
Having 3 Second Strikers and 2 Penalty Box strikers may not be the best thing, as someone will be unhappy.

Whats this talk for? What are you basing this on, he is a discrace? Please he is world class.
Balotelli is compard to Pato? Who is Balotelli except player who always makes problem without performance? We give a true gold in Pato for a non-existing player like Balotelli? Even in small club like Manchester City he can only scores in second tier championship ala Cup.
Ibra makes problem but he gives result for the team. Pato has been injured often but he still scored when he came from injury. I doubt Balotelli scored/assisted as many as Pato even Pato spent most of his time sideline every year.
Pato is still young and giving up our trust in a still-so-young player like him is terrible decision. We haven't even get the best from Pato (not like Kaka).

I really don't see any reason to question Pato. He's often described as a second striker, which is a role he can do, but he's good enough to play as an out and out goalscorer and play it to a very high level (statistically you can argue he's better in this position).
At 21, he needs to mature, which is natural for all people at that age, but as long as he's dedicated he won't have any problems. His dedication until now cannot really be questioned either, despite some rumours that have supposedly flying around. He's never been in trouble with regards to training and has always maintained he will be available to do as coaches require.
Under Ancelotti he never had a fixed role and was used in a variety of positions. He had an excellent relationship with Ancelotti and has always held him in high esteem. Under Leo, he was prepared to play a role he wasn't keen on (Ancelotti said this last season) and did so all through last season (again his rapport with the coach being very good). This season under Allegri, he's not had much chance to really get to know Allegri's ideas due to injuries. That said, he's always spoken well of Allegri and likewise Allegri has never spoken of him in a manner to suggest there are any problems at all. Even if there were questions about his workrate on the pitch, in his last competitive match against Palermo he was working hard and tracked back frequently before getting injured.
The player himself also seems to have a good relationship with teammates. The only time there has been suggestion he's had any sort of problem was when Ambro spoke about him needing to mature earlier this season. That said if I remember correctly Ambro was specifically asked about him. Also, he's said to be a fairly quiet and shy character off the pitch, not so much of a trouble maker.
Injuries have been the big question over the past year, but if the club are prepared to have him tested in America in a specialist clinic, then I'd take a guess they're pretty dedicated to getting him fit and injury-free, rather than being prepared to give in and sell him.
Finally, we got Ibra, a selfish player and an obnoxious character last summer. We got Boateng who has a history of problems, and now Cassano who is pretty much plain insane. There's also plenty of talk of wanting Balotelli too, another player who for all his talent is as big an idiot as they come. If Allegri is willing to put up with such characters in his dressing room and even manage to get them to dedicate themselves to his way of thinking, then I can't imagine he wouldn't want Pato, who is potentially better than all of these players.
That's true. We are gathering a group of nutters. Ibra, Robinho, Cassano...add Balotelli and maybe We need Maradona to come in as an assistant. Or Vinnie Jones.:D

It looks like our team will be the following next year:
Strikers: Ibrahimovic, Balotelli, Inzaghi, Pato, Robinho, Cassano
ACM: Lamela, Constant, Boateng
Midfielders: Lazzari, Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Flamini, Strasser, Merkel
Defenders: Nesta, Thiago Silva, Mexes, Bonera, Zambrotta, Antonini, Abate, Criscito, Montelongo
Goalkeepers: Abbiati, Amelia
27 players (15 Italian)
Average age: 27,63
Six strikers all expecting to play? Could be trouble

I agree with Dae. 6 strikers and none of them average. In a 4-3-1-2 only 2 of them play. Will not work. Robinho, Cassano, and Balotelli will not be on bench, they simply won't.
Also, I agree with Dev (ACMilan). Balotelli, Ibra, Cassano, Boateng, you're asking for trouble. Robinho I don't think is a troublemaker, and Pato has never been, even as an 18 year old. Pato may want to leave though if he's on bench. However, for the majority of us, Pato is a starter even with those strikers, and the foundation of our future team.
Lastly, I've said this many times, but I MUCH prefer Pato-Ibra. Pato is a great and will be even greater as a #9 Penalty Box Striker. Also, Ibra likes when he can roam around the 18 yard-box and play in a free role. For this, Cassano and Robinho will be playing footsies with each other on the bench. Balotelli would be a replacement for Pato, but he would never want to be, thus causing problems. For the money spent on Balotelli, we should buy Coentrao, Lazzari, and an ACM.
Mexes Sucks, end of story. He will not be our Nesta replacement.

There are million times better young strikers out there than Nilmar and Rossi. How the heck that you called them definite replacements of Pato, I'd say Lukaku, BALOTELLI, Neymar, and Paloschi are much more suitable replacement.
Six strikers all expecting to play? Could be trouble
Inzaghi won't expect to play. Balotelli won't come next summer, And Elmago, what's up with Boateng, are you implying he's a troublemaker, because I don't see him as one.

And Elmago, what's up with Boateng, are you implying he's a troublemaker, because I don't see him as one.
Boateng made trouble in England, and even admitted doing so (check the thread on Boateng for the quote)... however I agree he's not been at all a troublemaker in Milan.
However, he was the most important player IMO for Ghana this past World Cup. He played as an ACM who was all over the field. I doubt he'll want to sit around on the bench, if we do indeed get Lamela, Lazzari, etc. Furthermore, if Cassano, Ibra, Balotelli, or anyone else is causing trouble in the lockeroom, I see Boateng as potentially putting his two sense in, as he doesn't seem to backdown.
So far, he's been great and has shown a great attitude for the team. My overall point is that if you have a lot of guys who have ego's, you could have a bad situation, and even guys who normally stay quiet (Pirlo) can get upset. Gattuso also is never shy to speak his mind. We're doing well this season, and I do not want this to happen, this is why I was opposed to Cassano and will be opposed to Balotelli. We don't need our version of the Galacticos.... I want a unified squad, ready to win multiple CL's and Scudetti!!!!:p283:
What's wrong with Ibra, Pato, Robinho, Inzaghi (and then replacement)????
Ibra-Pato is potentially the best striking partnership in the world, so enough with the Pato sale already.
As for Cassano, i think he might well be brought to replace Robinho:
- they play in the same position
- Robinho is wanted by Santos and he wanted to join Santos before Milan came in for him
- we want someone from Santos (Ganso)
- we can exchange him with Ganso for probably the same price we bought him for (20Mio) or +5Mio if need be
Then we will have Ibra (financed totally by the sale of Boriello & Huntelaar, maybe with some change left), Pato, Cassano, Ganso, and Inzaghi/Paloschi all for a total cost of 20-25Mio
As for Balotelli, he is an excellent talent no doubt, but he could probably be the most abnoxious player there is, so unless he works on that (or Allegri turns out to be a super therapist), I think he would do more harm than good if he comes...so no for me ...for now
Regarding the midfield, we know we gradually need to replace:
Ambrosini, Gattuso, Seedorf, & Pirlo
we can do that with:
Boateng, Flamini, Constant and Lazzari/Poli
(no one can replace Pirlo as an exactly similar player or role except maybe Fabregas which would be a dream) + more depth with Strasser & Merkel
also this should not cost more than 10Mio (for Constant+ Lazzari) unless we decide to go for Poli who i think is valued over 10Mio
Speaking of Inzaghi; is the plan for him to come back from serious leg injury )a knee, right?) and them return to a spot rotation with Milan at the age of 37 or whatever he'd be? I love the guy but that is crazy.

There's no way Cassano will ever be worth 20 million for any club... Maybe if he's Serie A capocannoniere next season and shoots Italy to gold in EC 2012. Otherwise, no chance.

not exactly.. i agree that he would have to do something amazing to be worth 20 million, but all that is boosting it.. i think being really solid all season long would bump him up to around 15, seeing as man city offers crazily for players thats how you can get 20m for cassano :P ... do you think hunterlaar/boriello are better then cassano? hell no.. although striker/2nd striker are two diff positions id rather have cassano then both of them.. huntelaar is a maybe but boriello definitely not, and how much did we sell him for to roma 10 or 15? after the loan ?
also any new news on constant? hes a good player imo i watched him when we played chievo hes the only player that stood out for them and apart from that i saw one other game of him playing which was nothing special he showed he has class but did nothing to make note of, and of course utube complitations, he looks good dont no if he would be my ideal cam to have but if its a seedorf replacement and we stil have ganso to look foroward to why not

Cassano is one of the best attacking players in Serie A, and top 3 or 4 attacking players for Italy.
2010-2011: 4 Goals, 2 Assists in 7 appearances
2009-2010: 11 Goals, 8 Assists in 31 appearances
2008-2009: 15 Goals, 12 Assists in 40 appearances
* All competitions
Cassano was sold to Roma for 30 million almost 10 years ago.
Balotelli sold for around 30 Million Euros
James Milner sold for around 35 Million Euros
David Silva sold for around 30 Million Euros
Milos Krasic sold to Juventus for 15 Million Euros
Diego was sold to Juventus for 25 Million Euros, then released 1 year later for around 18 Million
Roman Pavlyuchenko sold to Tottenham for between 21-24 Million Euros
Robinho sold to Milan for 18 Million Euros
Prices may be inflated right now, and they may come down eventually just like they did in the Housing market in Europe and the United States. However, these are the prices of players around Cassano's level in the past few years. You cannot tell me Cassano won't sell for between 15-20 Million. He's had 2-3 very good seasons recently for a very average team, and looking at the price of Robinho who some in this forum consider Cassano around the same quality as, You cannot say Cassano is far from my valued price.
And don't be fooled, if Cassano does not fit in from now until may, he will be sold (for a healthy profit). Robinho has shown NOTHING to me that he should be replaced.
However, I understand some of the other points that Robinho can be used as bargaining chip for Santos' Ganso, but if we are to get Lamela, then that theory does not hold water.

Don't think Ozil ever wanted to play with Milan, I think he heart was pretty set at Real. As for Cassano, well, he must be a wanted property for him to be worth 15-20mil. I am sure that if he indeed become a wanted property, Milan will not want to let him go, unless someone offer over 30 mil for him.
Of all the player listed, I think Krasic was the miss. Then again, he will only fit into Leo 4-3-3 then the current Milan 's formation.

Uh oh... Milannews and other websites say that Milan-Genoa have an agreement to send Strasser on loan to Genoa on January 15th, and Toni's agent is waiting for Galliani to return from Brazil to discuss terms.
Ronaldinho wants only Gremio and no other, so this will make it harder for Galliani to negotiate an advantageous deal.
and Kaka, yes your French is correct, that source says Milan are interested in both players but will see if they are available in the summer, not in the winter.
Rumor said that we will play Thiago Silva as midfielder against Al-Ahly.
I am really waiting for seeing him play as midfielder!
Shame if Strasser goes as he shown more composure vs Bologna than Gattuso in any match all season and would be an option for 2nd half of season. Big no for Toni as I can't see him putting the necessary pressure to force our play and has been useless since 2006.
Don't see any mention of Strasser deal on Milannews which I hope doesn't go through. We always find it hard to get/take youngsters back esp the good ones.
Shame if Strasser goes as he shown more composure vs Bologna than Gattuso in any match all season and would be an option for 2nd half of season..
you must be joking! have you really seen Gattuso this season? he is very solid, and from what i saw in 30mins of Strasser, he is just an average player, at least at the moment. Gattuso is miles ahead of that guy, even Gattuso is 10 years older.
while i love to see young player breaks into the first team, Strasser is far from convinced to me. no idea why you praise him for his mediocre performance ....

I disagree with both of you ^^:
I disagree with Tony when he says Strasser shows more composure than Gattuso all season...because Gattuso has been incredibly good this season, maybe not every game but the most of it.
Disagree with nhoxanh when you say Strasser shows nothing to show he is more than average. He shows that he already is ready to play in most the games he gets chances in, he doesn't mess up under pressure and is always solid. He's a defensive midfielder so if he doesn't dribble past 2 or 3 players and score does not mean he is not a good player.

No mexes please,David ruiz is a must purchase for next summer. constant has got potential to be a solid left full back just like abate, same pace ,more skill, but questionable tempo controll capability.anyway,I don't think he can replace seedorf if he plays AM.
If cassano proves to be a success, and with lamela in squad next summer.selling pato might be an option. 60 million means we can go for david ruiz, ganso and balotelli at the same time, that's a backbone structure for next 10 years.

Happy New Year fellow Milanisti!
Haven't posted for a while, but I have been reading some threads.
I'm quite pleased w/ the Cassano purchase, and hope Robinho's injury isn't serious, as it wouldn't be pretty adding him to an ever growing injury list.
At the moment, we seem to be on the verge of a real injury crisis.
I like Constant, and hope we do indeed move for him, his workrate alone for me would be welcome. Any developments w/ regards to his aquisition?

Yes it's important to understand that not every star youngster will turn out to be a Great Player who will succeed at a big club such as Milan, Juve, Chelsea, Man U, Madrid, and Barca.
However, this is also an interesting time where there are not an overwhelming amount of #10's available, or up and coming. Interesting to see how it plays out, and also what direction Milan will go in ..in terms of their ACM position.

I don't think Milan will get nothing from the club who sign Dinho. Even Dinho's agent stated that the club have to agree with Milan first, otherwise Dinho will go back to Milan since he belongs to Milan. At least Milan should be able to cover the transfer fee of Cassano (for Madrid).

good article on dinho, i really agree with him kinda depresses me to know hes leaving.. if only he stayed in good shape or what not whatever made him into what he is now from being what he used to be i would love to see him do that magic for us
just finished watching the game vs al ahli we won 2-1, ibra played amazing, oduamadi played OUTSTANDING the kid has a great potential, finally got to see montelongo play i have to say i dont no y we dont start him in some games hes actually a good player.. beretta played ok imo nice goal.. the rest of the team was pretty solid and there player named hasan scored a very nice goal near the close of the match.. oduamadi probly star player of this game..
I don't know what's up with montelongo either. Man U seem very interested to get the player and now we have him but we ain't playing him...

Look like Piazon going to sign for Juve and now Inter want Neymar...
With Neymar Merda could get him (still I doubt it since there are clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid who can offer more money than Merda).
About Piazon I am optimistic that Milan will get him if the player is really a wonder kid ala Pato since Milan were the first club I read that had interest in him but the kid rejected to move to foreign country in still such young age. I am sure that Milan can fight with Juve financially to get Piazon.

Blackburn admit to bid for Dinho
Blackburn Rovers have made a volte-face by admitting that despite earlier denials, they have bid for Milan star Ronaldinho.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that the Premier League outfit had faxed an offer worth £6.2m to the Serie A leaders, something the club initially denied.
Asked to comment on the speculation, the chairman of Blackburn's news owners Venky's, told BBC Radio Lancashire that the club is doing everything to bring the Brazilian to Ewood Park.
“He is keen to play in the EPL and I think that goes in our favour,” said Anuradha Desai.
“To be precise [it is] €7.6m for the first year and about €8.5m for the second and third years.”
Blackburn manager Steve Kean also acknowledged Rovers' interest.
“I know there has been contact made by the owners to representatives of Ronaldinho, but I don't know how far down the line it is and whether it will actually happen.
“If any Premier League manager was asked if they wanted to sign someone who has been World Player of the Year twice they would be interested.”
If Milan can get some millions euro from Ronaldinho's sell, it would be great! Ronaldinho's transfer fee plus wages (could be around 10-15 mil euros) could be used to bring fullback or Lamela (I just read that Milan offered 6 mil euros, not 12 euros for Lamela and River wants 12 mil euros for the kid).

Dzeko seems to be going to Man City...
Elmago99
04-01-2011, 09:29
Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko has given Juventus 48 hours to make him an official offer, or else he will complete his move to Manchester City, Goal.com International can reveal.
The Bosnian has been the centre of intense media speculation over the past few weeks, with the English press adamant that only small details separate the hitman from finalising his transfer to Eastlands.
The Italian media has long since claimed that Dzeko would prefer a move to Serie A in order to join long-term admirers Juventus, who were very close to signing him last summer before they instead used up their one non-EU berth on CSKA Moscow’s Milos Krasic. The Old Lady did obtain an option on Dzeko, though, as part of the deal that saw Brazilian playmaker Diego move to Wolfsburg for a cut-price fee of €15.5 million.
Goal.com International has now learned that Dzeko – who due to Serie A EU rules cannot join Juventus until the summer – is desperate to move to the Bianconeri at the end of the current campaign and has handed them a 48-hour ultimatum to present an official offer.
If this is not forthcoming, then Dzeko will instead complete his transfer to Manchester City, most likely on Thursday, for a fee in the region of €32m. City and Wolfsburg have already agreed upon a transfer fee, but the Bosnian has yet to give the green light as he clings onto hope of Juve.
A source close to the player told Goal.com: "Dzeko has made it clear many times that Serie A is his favourite league and that he wants Juventus.
"However, he cannot wait around forever. We are talking about one of the best forwards in the world and Edin must think as a professional too.
"He cannot wait any longer than 48 hours. It is in Juve's hands, but they are running out of time."
Dzeko’s heart is almost certainly not with Wolfsburg anymore. Goal.com Germany reports that at the club’s mid-season training camp in Marbella yesterday, the 24-year-old’s body language was very poor and he did not speak to any of his team-mates. Dzeko also refused any interviews after the session ended.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini confirmed in his pre-Arsenal match press conference that a fee with Wolfsburg has been settled.
"For Dzeko, I can say only one piece, that we have agreed with Wolfsburg, but we'll speak after Arsenal," he stated.
"I think Dzeko is a good player, all teams in Europe want him."
Tuttosport claims that Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is considering tabling a bid today of €30m plus Malian midfielder Mohamed Sissoko for Dzeko. Bayern Munich are also attempting a late hijack, but are considered rank outsiders.

I don't care with Dzeko now, we have already Ibra. We should probably get Dzeko considering his age but we got Ibra with very discounted price. What can I say? I am happy we get Ibra and we can't get all strikers. We should focus to strengthen other department. I hope Lamela/Ganso will be cleared by Milan soon.

Dzeko is different kind of player, he first begged to Milan to sign, then he renewed with Wolsburg, then he again begged Milan to sign him, then Milan signed ibrahimovic, who is cheaper and also much better player. then he begged Juve to sign him. then they are about to sell him to City then he still begging juve to sign him. What kind of player he is.
Regarding Lamela, According to reliabre sources, River offered Lamela to Milan and Bayern, Milan with Braida offered them only 6 million euros.
Someone plays with the figures, 6 m euros is more realistic than 12 or 18. Funes Mori is about to join Benfica, Lamela is offering to Milan and Bayern.
One thing I don't quite understand: why did we let Ronaldinho leave the team while the transfer negotiation was/is still ongoing?

Don't worry about midfield. We're very very close to Lazzari, midfielder from Cagliari. He has good skills and is a real fighter. It would be a great stroke.
We're also on Caracciolo, good forward from Brescia, who's been chosen to permit Ibra to rest, sometimes. He's very tall and is a real bomber. He doesn't have lots of skills, but has the most important one: he know perfectly how to mark.
And also Lamela... pay attention to this incredible talent from Argentina. Siregar said it. We're not just very very close to buy him, probably we have already bought him for june...

Saw Caracciolo a few times, nothing special, but nothing special is really needed for that 4th striker spot. However, I'd much rather Beretta as well.
ACM also a must, and now with Zambrotta out for an extended period, Antonini as our LB, and Bonera and Jankulovski as 2 players I don't want to ever see play at FB again, I think it's time we make our move.

The fact that Man City has supposedly signed Dzeko, could mean some interesting developements in the Balotelli area. I doubt that Mancini will play all three of Tevez, Dzeko and Balotelli, so one of them is going to the bench and will be pissed off about it. Somehow, I assume it will be Balotelli who sits, and he is the type to complain himself right out of the team. Perhaps, Milan could swoop in and finally make Mario happy...:)

Don't Milan already have Pato, Ibra, Cassano and Robinho fighting for 2-3 spots on the team. Having Mario on the team will be mad, as I doubt he is willing to sit on the bench. Beside, even if Mario does not have those attitude problems, someone as talented and as young as he is should be playing regularly to improve his skill instead of sitting on the bench. I know competition should brings out the best of the players but 5 players fighting for 2-3 spots is a lot different than 3 players fighting for 2 spots.

Pls explain how our forwards lineup is any less crowded. We must be crazy to sign anymore forwards. Let's try to tackle the back. I deem it a must to do something about it soon. We are ok in MF, good upfront but the back is killing us if we don't do something soon. We can't expect Nesta to be here forever....

Damn I was really warming up to the idea of Constant arriving, I really like that player, I think he is a much better version of Boateng. I am not sure what this issues are, but I think it has something to do with him already transfering twice this season?
Can anyone (Capo_Ultra, Maltese_Charlie) give us more information on this?

Janku will be out of contract in June for sure.
I think Seedorf will also be out of contract too, but he will be renew with like 1 mil a year or something.
Bonera still got another year left after this summer.
Yepes won't be going anywhere unless he wants to leave for first team football, if thats the case, 2mil max.
Papa/Sokratis is on loan, so can't really sell him.
Onyewu, well, I think EPL teams might pay 5 mil for him after he destroys Crouch in CL.

it seems Milan is after a midfield, and the target is Lazzari. i wish Constant could come...
However, Milan needs a midfielder, not a DM or a holder, but a 2 way midfielder, in both aspects very good.
in today's GDS interview, Nesta said something interesting, about renewal and his last year. He said that Silva is still speaking bad italian so he didnt mean that Nesta could retire, and he meaned that its his last year of his Milan contract. so lets not expect David Luiz but Mexes...

define milan material, because if it what I think it is, Oneywu, Strasser, s.Papa, Oddo, Marek, Abate, b.monto, bonera, abbiati, yepes, antonini, oduamdi are not MilanMatterial,
Seedorf Flamini, Zombrotta, Amelia, Pirlo, are not in Milan Material type form.
and i remember people saying KPB is not milan material, yet he is unquestionably one of our best midfielders this season, problably only behind Gattuso (Who apart from this season, was not in MilanMaterial type form or the last 3 years)
SO MY Question AGAIN what is MILANMATERIAL?
now there may be reasons why we shouldnt sign him(Krancjar), but I KNOW for a fact, he is better than alot of player we currently have.
On a last Note look at r80, he is the definition of Milan Material, and look how that turned out.
Gourcuff wasnt MilanMaterial either and we also saw how that turned out.
Krancjar even as more goals for croatia than BOBAN.
my point is not to say we should buy krancjar, but i suggested his name for feedback, i do not not see, He is not MilanMaterial as constructive feedback, especially when arguments can be made to show that he is better than some players currently on our roster.

We need non Milan material for backups or at least to compensate high wages from our Milan material like Pato, Ibra, Pirlo, Nesta, Silva and former Milan material like Seedorf, Zambrotta, Inzaghi. But we can not fill our squad with only non Milan material players. :D
From my side, Krancjar is definitely non Milan material but IF he is a creative player with sufficient football ability AND low wages, we can take him to sub Pirlo or as alternative for midfield department.

OK now this is more what i was looking for. I Know Krancjar is not the best at his positon, he is actually far from the best at his position, but he is definately good enough to play for milan, as you cannot have a worldclass player at every position, thats unreasonable. He isnt gonna make our midfield the best in serie A, but he will offer attributes that could make it better.
We are not even linked to him, but i brought him up for constructive argument, to get feedback from different people, from different sides of the world.
plus i think it is said hotspurs are looking for 4.5 mil for him, which i know is Milan type pricing, seeing that we were not willin to pay 5 mil for cassano.
another point/question, i do not see the hype behind Lazzari, 1 he plays for Cagliari (i guess ill see him for the first tomorrow) but he is 26 hasnt been called up for italy and really has no youtube video, just one really good goal.
Im not saying i based skills on youtube, but anyone who is somewhat good has multiple youtube videos. I saw coentrao on youtube from 2007, when he wasnt even as close to as good as he is now.
I am also not saying he wont be a good player for Milan if we do buy him, because i understand that some players are late bloomers
SO i am asking what makes Lazzari a good buy, because to be honest, i know most of yall did not know him before Allegri said he wanted him here at milan. because based on material i can find on him, he has nothing going for him except Allegri's confidence in him.

Website address will be the same, milanmania.com, we could add a Milan Material section, page or subforum :grinser:
though you are gonna keep the url MilanMania, if you thinking of changing the the theme of the website i like
Milan-ani-AC or (milaniac) is a name ive always liked. AC Milan = Milan AC
other Ideas i would suggest is have a section for NEWS, where u can maybe take feeds from other websites. this would reduce the number of websites we have to go to. its just an idea.
(an example is http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/?search=AC+Milan&searchheadlines=1) where the dont write there own articles, but take feeds from other sites.
this would also bring more traffic to the website i believe, as me for example, i am only active on this website during the transfer widows. if there was news involving milan then i think i would be visit this site more.

One of the benefits of the new format will be that the front page (the non-forum page, what is now milanmania.com) will have news and not just posted by me or one person but others too, we can have editors who can add news. that's true. the difference is aside from nationality (and probably their position or the way they play) is that lazzari got scouted easily especially by our scouted and especially allegri. i don't know if constant had ever played for allegri but i am sure, it is much more easier to get know about certain player in italy (serie A) than from EPL.

We're linked to Lazzari for this month and Matri for June. Lazzari would be a great addition to add depth. High workrate, decent quality on the ball and a notable shot make him a useful player. He's not world class, but his attitude to the game fits Allegri's ideas perfectly (someone versatile willing to offer support at both ends of the pitch, although he is definitely more attack orientated).
Also an interesting article on Lamela...

About Ganso, the thing is Leo already have Sneijder who's among the best in this position when fit, and a young Coutinho in his disposal. Madrid is a different case though, they might have Ozil, Kaka, and Canales but we all know how greedy they are.
If AC Milan can just get Andriy Arshavin, that would be a dream move :devs: :whie: He will set perfectly well in ACM starting line up. The guys was a monster back in Euro 2008 & still a match winner on his day. Its such a shame that he went to a clown club like Arsenal where he has all these infants surrounding him & all his talent works out for nothing with those babies & sick Arsene Wenger.
Somehow i fear that Milan will deteriorate rapidly for the 2nd half of the season....especially after watching the cagliari match...nothing special.....Seedorf is mediocre when there is no pirlo playing alongside him...robinho is wasteful, he needs at least 3 perfect chances to score once-doesnt know why he is so hyped.....cassano can barely run 50 metres, lower work rate than r80.......only positives are that allegri has shown the bravery to promote merkel and strasser, with some more first team action we can really polish these guys up to be used regulary in low profile serie-a matches....
bottom line is that i really think signing robinho and cassano was utter bull ****.....if galli and co is thinking that we have enough firepower with ibra+cassano+robinho and thinks about selling pato---HE IS WRONG 100%, We should have gone with someone like giuseppe rossi or neymar in place of r80 and even could have sold robinho to buy two midfieldes and two defenders like poli, lazzari, d.luiz etc...right now apart from ibra, pato, silva, nesta we are a pretty ordinary team who can realy falter in the season final run-in........to me the team should have looked like below after this winter mercato----
winter mercato
sell--------r80, oddo, papasthapaolos, janku
buy------g.rossi/neymar, d.luiz, a.poli, santon/criscito
promote-----merkel, strasser, montelungo
summer mercato
sell--------robinho, seedorf, roma, bonera, onyewu
buy-------ganso/lamella/pastore, agazzi/seculin, astori
promote-------berretta

k7r i dont agree with what you've said.. cassano can run and his ability to spot out a perfect through ball and/or cross can only be matched by one player in our team - pirlo.. imo hes a big improvement from r80 how he played for us recently.. second off ok robinho has this problem finishing which should really be worked on but you have to appreciate his ability to open up space on the field - his very strong point is that.. he plays a big role actually in our play by doing that.. he opens up alot of space on the field with good movement.. something most people wouldnt appreciate because its hard to realize cus people usualy pay attention the person on the ball rather then the person running off the ball .. i agree with you saying promote beretta, good replacement for inzaghi. also with buying one of lamela pastore or ganso, do u actually think astori, agazzi or seculin r good enough for milan? papa, abate, antonini are in their class. imo abate is imrpoving well though, anyhow there all in that class, if they played for a small team and had room to play every game you'd notice a growth, mainly why abate has been improving recently.. out of ganso lamela and pastore, i know nothing of lamela so basically ganso or pastore - pastore. proven in seria a and big talent. ganso is proven to be a big deal but in brazil, plus his injury so its a big gamble, but im sure ganso would be slightly cheaper then pastore because palermo is probably better off financially, just guessing. neymar would be a dream come true i mean who wouldnt want a neymar-pato front line up, but we have ibra so theres really no space for him or rossi.. and robinho, ibra will probably not be sold for a while. i know 4 sure ibra wont be and he shouldnt be because he's been the backbone of our team this year..
i would buy ganso in the summer, and in the winter end it off with lazzari. in the summer ganso,a solid fullback/cb and we'll be competitve in europe again too.

Great posts guys, but pls stop thinking about Pastore as Palermo will never sell any of their players to Milan. They might sell them to Inter as a discount price just to piss Milan off.

Leonardo strongly interested in Ganso and Neymar, especially They want Ganso, it said that they would let Neymar to go to Real Madrid for them giving up on Ganso.
Ganso >inter
Lamela >Milan

I can't disagree with these statements. Part of me likes Robinho and Cassano but part of me says why do we have 3 Second Strikers? Why not just 2 and a true ACM like Ganso. I really don't think we'll buy Ganso as we've already made a bid for Lamela, and Ganso has Inter on his tail.
We need FB's but I'd choose Coentrao over Criscito although Criscito is better than Antonini for sure. Santon is NOT happening unfortunately.
Striker
Pato
R. Santa Cruz/Matri/Beretta
Inzaghi
Second Striker
Ibrahimovic
Cassano/Robinho
Attacking Central Mid/Trequartista
Ganso/Lamela
Lazzari/Merkel
Midfield
Pirlo
Ambrosini
Flamini
Boateng
Gattuso
Strasser
Defenders
Nesta
T. Silva
D. Silva/Astori
Coentrao/Criscito
Abate
Zambrotta
Oddo
Yepes
Bonera ** (I'd sell him)
Goalkeepers
Abbiati
Amelia
Roma
Squad: 25 Players

Arshavin is a skillfull Winger/ACM/SS, same as Binho & Cassano
So I think only if his contract is expiring in sumer or he has problem with Arsenal, we can get him like Ibra, Binho & Cassano's case.
And he is non EU.

Am I the only one who thinks Dzeko is one of the biggest phonies in soccer today? This guy wanted to leave Wolfsburg so he would confess his love to anyone who would consider paying to get him out of there. And then, he would always choose the one who offers him more money and say he would've done anything to sign for his "Dream Team" even if it meant lowering his wages. This man would call my high school soccer team his dream team if it meant we could pay him.

I must admit Galliani is really clever and a true Milan fan, so he knows what Dzeko thinks. Now we have Ibra, Binho & Cassano with 1/2 his price and will win us everything despite none are "fan".
Real fan is someone like Balotelli.

What you said about Galliani makes sense. If Dzeko is a true Milan fans, he would be here to play with us. You gave good example with Balotelli. He always be our target thanks to his loyal saying or action towards Milan. :D

nah, i think he loves milan, however he realized tat milan could not afford him, however his love for italian football led him to want to play for juve, as he knew ROMA SAMP, LAZIO and other good italian teams could not afford him. however he was never linked to INTER, because as a milan fan, he hates inter.
When the only team that could afford him was ManC, he still went back to Juve to see if they would match, and they coudlnt afford.
NOW as a professional if manC or any club for that matter buys you, you cannot say, i do not want to play here. plus in order for him to grow as a player and win important title, he had to leave wolfsburg.
so i wouldnt call him phony. he just had to settle. and i prefer him at manC with another stiker, the more likely they will be to give up Balo. his agent even said Dzeko's agent: "He was ready to reduce his salary to join Juve"

I think that he only likes Milan or he only likes Shevchenko. If he loves Milan, he wouldn't extend his contract and made super difficult for Milan to sign him due to his increased price after prolonging his contract with Wolfsburg. But anyway I almost forget this player if some people didn't post something about Dzeko. Yeah, our wonderful attack is the big factor to forget him so easily. :respect:

agree om, his comments after signing for mcity:
"Manchester City are playing for first place in the Premier League and that is what I want," he said. "Everybody speaks about City having lots of money but it is not about that. It is about ambition. I have spoken to the manager [Roberto] Mancini and he told me: 'This is the best club for you.' They have been playing well this season. I have watched them a lot on television. Now the speculation is over and I just want to do my best."
Mancini had initially tried to sign Dzeko last summer but City could not agree a fee for the Bosnia international, with Wolfsburg wanting in the region of £45m.
Dzeko added: "It has been a long time that I have been linked with the club going back to last summer but Wolfsburg did not want to sell me until today. There was too much speculation in the papers but my head was always clear.
"It is important that is the case because, if you think too much about what might be, it is a distraction and it can affect your game. I was always attracted most to joining City ... I want to show the fans why the club paid the money for me. Everyone expects goals and I want to score them but most of all I want to contribute to a successful team."

Dont we have any plans of signing any one in the winter???? The only thing we are linked with is the transfer of R80 to Brazil. Apart from that i dont read anything about anyone joining us in d winter. Our midfield is hopless with Seedorf trying to play in Pirlo s shoes. I thought we desperately need someone in that midfield and plus a full back on the left.
How bout Lamela??? Any idea of how far we are from sigining him?? Havent seen him play but everyone seems to have a good opinion of him.

I think we have enough strikers already. Plus the idea of giving up Pato to bring in Balotelli is insane. I respect Balotelli for his interest in us. But we have enuf trouble makers in our squad already(Cassano,R70,Ibra). Losing R70 to bring in Balo wouldnt be a bad idea though.

I thought we are so far doing well in the winter market. Cassano came, right? Some rumor says that Lazzari is close to us. Allegri likes him a lot and he could replace Seedorf.
To be honest though, the best "vice-pirlo" in our current squad is Seedorf.
And yes, we do desparately need LB.

R70 being a trouble boy could be a media creation/exaggeration. I will trust Brasileiro who says that.
Secondly, do you seriously think that Man Sh!tty will sell us R70, then take the same player back just to give us Balotelli? :coffee: :ilol:

We're linked with El Hamdaoui from Ajax. He would have a price set around 6-7M.

He's non-EU.

El Hamdaoui was frequently benched after De Boer took charge in Ajax. If he's not good enough for them he's absolutely not good enough for us.
But then again, nobody here cares whether he's good enough or not, everybody will be happy to sign somebody cheap.

look at some of his goals this season. FANTASTIC stuff. he is a brilliant finisher and he would be a steal for 6/7m. I've seen a lot from him at ajax, almost every game. + I've seen him many times at his former club AZ.
his goals this season, it shows how excellent his finishing skills are. esp the top 3 goals in this movie are one of the best I've ever seen.

For non-EU, "good enough" is not good enough. It has to be used on players like Pato, or Silva, or Ganso. ;)
What is his position actually? Ajax has also Suarez and it seems that El Hamdaoui is the target man and Suarez is the support striker?
Btw it seems that he celebrated his goal similar like Kaka: to thank God for the goal.

I don't know about Ganso. I wish there is a site where we can check it. www.footballdatabase.com used to be really good, but hasn't been updated recently. For example, Robinho is still a Santos player, according to them.

Well, the Dzeko saga is finally over. But he could still play for us one day :)
here is one article:
http://www.sportin.ba/vijesti.aspx?id=24298
from yesterday.
It's in bosnian, translation of the title is
Dzeko: Shevchenko's jersey has a special place in my room.
The article is about him being fan of Milan since his childhood days, when Capello was in charge.
google translation:
Džeko: Shevchenkov jersey has a special place in my room
British Sky Sports, as well as other sports media on the island, and continue to closely monitor Edina Jack and his transfer to Manchester City, revealing its details unknown to the public about the new star ...
Among other things mentioned in the interest of AC Milan and transfer to a year and a half was on the verge of realization. A journalist explains why, saying the Džeko, while growing up in war-torn Sarajevo, has become a big supporter Rossoneri quoting his words:
- I want to improve and play at the highest level possible, but as a boy, I just imagined that one day play for Milan.
- Milan was my favorite club, a magnificent team led by their 90-Fabio Capello has always been for me was something special.
- My home is still in Sarajevo, and there is a room whose walls are decorated with soccer jerseys. One Milanov, black and white, with Shevchenkovim name and number 7 on the back has a special - a place of honor.

We have certainly made an effort to bring in more players than have gone out. We've added quality and also youth. Overall it's going very well, and despite our criticism I am very happy with Galliani and Berlusconi. We obviously need a Midfielder to replace the Senatori (specifically Ambro, Seedorf, Gattuso), but we do have Prince, Flamini, Pirlo, Strasser, and Merkel. Perhaps Lazzari is all that's needed. Also, an Attacking Central Midfielder, and a Left Back. Lastly, a player like Davide Astori could be good for CB, although I don't know if a pairing of he and T. Silva can be one for the next 5 years.
Anyone hear anything about Adiyiah's progress? Also thoughts on Astori? I really have a feeling we'll make a move for a Left Back this mercato or next. We can't possibly go on with Antonini for next few seasons. I'm curious to see how that goes, although Allegri seems to be saying Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder. We'll see...

I think that midfielder (technical one like Allegri said) should be our priority since we really need a creative midfielder. Without Pirlo we suffered a lot like game vs Roma and Cagliari. We have won a couple of games when Pirlo was injured (before his injury in December in vs Roma's game) but it needed a very organised and tactical play from us.
So, I agree with Allegri that a technical/creative midfielder is a must in winter mercato. Such type of midfielder gives us more benefit than a proper fullback.
Do you guys think that Milan have Moggi as a consultant? :D Most of transfer moves this season were extraordinary.
Or just Allegri & Galliani are already very good themselves?
However, I don't mind it too much, as the most important is Milan are getting stronger.

Yepes, Papa, Amelia are extraordinary? agreed on Boateng, Robinho and ibra then even on Cassano.
we were sleeping when inter signed Ranocchia, while we signed Papa for the same amount of money. Amelia is okay as vice GK. We lost Hernanes to Lazio, Krasic to juve. Hernanes was the man for our midfield. We still dont have a solid reserve Cb to silva and Nesta, after signed Yepes and Papa in one summer.
Good mercato yet not extraordinary.

Just saying Inter signed Ranocchia for around 18M (6+12) if I'm correct.
Which is quite a lot for a defender who still has everything to prove.

True, but considering Papa cost 5mil and he is pretty much useless among Yepes, Gouch, and Bonera. That's 5mil wasted. The cb that I think Milan should sign is Santacroce, as he is not being use at all and he should be under 8 mil. He is probably a cheaper option than D. Luiz. Mexes to me is the French version of Bonera.
Of all the plYers that Milan missed in the summer, I think Hernanes is probably the only one that Milan was seriously looking at, but they just dropped him as they thought Slowdorf and Pirlo can do it for a few more years.

PAPA will get playing time, after Bonera's performance against Udinese, he will not play again, unless 1. he is having an affair with allegri, 2. Allegri is an utter uber idiot 3. Only 11 guys are healthy.
even so i would rather go to the primvera for a defender before playin bonera again. i expect a game rating of 1 or less for bonera

we need no more attacking options, unless it is a old guy who can score but doesnt expect to play alot, like what inzaghi was.
oh and if u could find an adjective worse than terrible, thats what bonera is.
I don't like Bonera. I hate the way he plays and i think he is awful.
But suppose you are him. Your only fault is that you can't put on a decent performance. It's not like you decide the starting 11.
My point is, if a coach thinks you deserve to be in the team more than Yepes and Papa and game after game you do nothing to prove him right, then it's not your fault anymore. You can't say "coach, i ain't no good".
Sorry but that's on Allegri. No matter how i like him, it's his bad on this occasion.

Yeah, it was mainly Allegri's fault to still believe in Bonera and play Seedorf in crucial position to be countered, deep-holding/playing position. Bonera shouldn't played as CB (I agree with someone about Bonera as second sub for right fullback) and Seedorf should just play upfront AND as sub, not starting eleven.

Interesting few posts. I agree it's not Bonera's fault he keeps getting chosen. It's very interesting how WE ALL know he sucks, but Allegri doesn't. Maybe Allegri should watch some videos, and see old games, then he'll realize Seedorf and Bonera need to go.
Hopefully Astori and Lazzari can replace these two ...

I am sure that the coach sees them every day and makes the decision that he thinks is the best.
I just wish that I knew why. But I will choose to trust Allegri - I will have to. :)
And what did you think about Yepes, Papa and Amelia in the beginning of this season? We already know all of them are for the bench. Papa cost only 7M €:
http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/ac-mailand/transfers/verein_5.html
While Ranocchia cost 18.5 M
http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/inter-mailand/transfers/verein_46.html
And Inter already possess half of him, mean his value must be 37M.
Hernanes was a miss, but we have Boateng for free and the youngsters like Strasser & Merkel.
If 1-2M for transfering as nothing with big clubs, then Ibra, Cassano, Boateng, Amelia & Yepes are all free.
Even the wise Moggi not only bought world class players but also normal ones.
Elmago99

I read also Sokratis cost €5M. The previous website Aficio gives says €7. Not sure which is correct but it's not a huge deal. I did not think he was that bad in the games he played, his positioning was maybe not great but he was very aggressive, he's big and strong. Bonera is just awful in every sense. Most of all, he looks soft. He doesn't look intense as Silva and Nesta. He looks, frankly, like a scared little girl.
On another subject, could Cassano be that ACM we've been looking for?:D
I hope so, that would be fantastic. It would solve some issues, then Robinho would simply be the first replacement for Pato or Ibra.
Then we can use Lamela (If we decide on him), to work his way eventually in. A guy like Lazzari, Merkel, Strasser, Prince, and Flamini would then be replacements for the Senatori (Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf).
In this scenario you wouldn't need a direct Pirlo replacement if we play with a true creative ACM like Cassano/Ganso/Lamela.
Forza Milan:5schal:

I believe that Inter paid Genoa 6.5 Million for Ranocchia's first half, which means his total value is 25 million.
Boateng didn't and won't come for free, if you consider the lease payment (1 or 2m) and the half of Zigoni, Strasser, and Oduamandi. I believe that we still have to pay for him if we want to keep him in the end. I don't know if it is going to be a fixed amount or current market value.
The only true 'free' one is Yepes who was a Bosman. All others involve either lease fee or future payment.
and yes, we should count on our own youngsters. :pr115: that's the foundation for long-run success.
@Elmago99: About Sokratis
- Genoa bought him in 2008 for 4M.
- He proved himself in 2 seasons, became fan favourite in second year.
- We gave Genoa half of Zigoni, Oduamadi & Strasser (maybe bad idea).
So 7M overall was not expensive.
I also think Cassano can solve our ACM problem though we need a very strong mid to support. Boateng is another choice for another strategy.
We are good at attack, now the mid, def and even GK need strengthen.
agree om, his comments after signing for mcity:
This is a pic from todays match between M.City and Leicester. Pay attention to the scarf ;)

37M is just a number to assess his value now, and 25M is total cost for Inter to get him.
The half of 3 youngsters included in Sokratis' transfer, not Boateng.
We paid 1.5 M for co-ownership of Boateng, not just a loan:
http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/artikel.php?ID=198843
Boateng, initially joined Genoa from Portsmouth in the summer, before at once moving to Milan on loan, although his status is one of co-ownership with Genoa.
That means we will need less money to get him in the future. About half the value for full ownership and not much if we just need him in Milan for another season in co-ownership.
I am also aware of future payment, but for this season, it is stil great.
And... youngsters are the best :D

Is it me or just that Bonera is turning into Mrs. Allegri just like how Seedorf was Mrs. Ancelotti with Carlo.
Elmago99

It's still too early to tell, but it seems as though through Allegri's quotes and purchases that he will want this formation in big games in the near future:
-------------------Ibra------Pato----------
----------------------Cassano--------------
Flamini/Gattuso-----Ambrosini----Boateng
A solid hard-working defensive minded midfield and then allow Cassano to create.
We need, (and I've said this time and time again), a LEFT BACK. I also agree that Seedorf shouldn't play and while forcing him out as we did with Ronaldinho is not what we would do because of his history with us, but he should be sold while we can even get a few millions for him.
I'd also like to see Sokratis or Yepes play a little more, but perhaps they're not doing well in training?:dconf:
Lastly, Cristiano Ronaldo is leading La Liga in scoring (22 Goals), and is on pace for almost 45 Goals in just the league!!! Wow, that's impressive. He and Messi literally own that league, they lead in Goals and Assists and totally dominate all competition.
In Serie A, after tonight the leading scorers are:
1. Di Natale 13 Goals
Cavani 13 Goals
3. Di Vaio 11 Goals
4. Ibrahimovic 10 Goals
* Very Surprised Di Natale never wanted to make a step up to a Champions League club.
* After Napoli's destruction of Juventus tonight, they're legitimate rivals, but certainly look like they want a Champions League spot at the very least. Nice to see some new teams in the hunt.

Btw, it´s confirmed by Gremio President(I saw the press conference yesterday), they were in talks with Milan about Ronaldinho since September. As I thought, Berlusconi silence about his favourite player(Ronaldinho) on the bench was clearly suspect and strange...

The word is that Milan let Ronaldinho free to negotiate with any team here, but after Galliani(when in Rio) take notice of the values involved and the amount of money Clubs would generate with his image here, he changed his mind and wanted a piece of the cake... Damn, what a Vulture:ilol:

Thats my fear, man. Not even Grêmio fans that I know can give details about him:u56:
I really have no reasons(but hope) to think Rodrigo will be good for us. Our last adventures with little known players not only in Brazil, but in Argentine and Uruguai were disastrous.
Do you know how much we paid??

If it means anything, Rodrigo Ely's agent is......... the same agent as Ibra and Balotelli. Surprise surprise... if he can pick players like Ibra and Balotelli, at least it shows that he had some success in picking players...maybe Ely can turn out to be something.
I was disappointed when I first thought Ely was brought in because I thought he would be the one to take the Non-EU spot, but it seems that he's officially signed now that he has obtained his EU passport (can anyone confirm this?).

And according to link Jay mentioned, we're linked with Christian Eriksen, the best Scandinavian youngster out there?
it says that Jucilei is being considered for the summer which i am happy about because that means we save whatever cash we have now for a defender.
i have no doubt that what we really need right now is LB
i just saw the highlights of our match again, and although bonera was horrible, antonini might have been actually worse: he played everybody onside for the 1st goal, could not close his guy who was in a very difficult situation for the 2nd and failed miserably to track back for the 4th when he should have been sprinting backwards :kap:
anyway...among the listed names so far, we know Coentrao & Luiz are pretty expensive and between Criscito & Contento i would go for Contento.
I haven't seen too much of Criscito but every time i do he's pretty awful
Contento i haven't seen too often either but whenever i do he is pretty good offensively, however i would rather some1 confirm his defensive abilities
+ he is still 20 so he has a lot of room to improve

Diego Contento in my opinion is not going Anywhere. He's very promising but he's German, playing for Bayern Munich, and he played in 3 Champions League Group Games, with 1 Assist. He's played in 8 Bundesliga games, and their fans rate him highly. He has started in the last 3 Bayern Munich Games, which they've given up 5 Goals. I hear he is very attacking. I honestly think Coentrao is available, and Criscito as well, because of our good relationship with Genoa, but I'm not sure at what cost. Like you said, just someone who is solid at this point is good for LB, considering our potent attack.

So many very interesting rumours coming out over the last few days.. Apparently we're in talks with Rui costa on whether we want to sign coentrao or david luiz, for around a 15-20mln price tag.. Also by thursday we wil decide between Lazzari or Van bommel , and we're linked with buying jucelie who will start playing in June, then Ganso is in milanello (apparently) read it on a few other forums too, and FINALLY apparently a 19 yr old striker who plays for Flamengo named Diego Mauricio http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=42670 who has been tipped as the next drogba and they call him Drogbinha may come as a return favor for our sale to them of ronaldinho..
THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT -
i was watching soccer report on fox hd and some old guy named gary or jerry something like that summarized ours and chelseas mercato.. i didnt stay and listen for the other big clubs such as inter barca etc, but apparently chelsea are willing to sell bosingwa and want to bring in neymar.. for us he said theirs a big possibility of david luiz coming in, and using van bommel as a temporary for a bigger midfield signing in June and the part that made me so happy especially with these rumors is that ganso is almost a milan player, hes also said the most likely striker to come in is caraciollo.. but who knows these mercato specialists i mean what do they do to guess these mercatos? do they just put all the rumors together or something..

The only amazing thing in my team nowadays is the attendance numbers. Terrible organization from the president to the youth teams.
The problem is... Flamengo team is horrible. They will bring now Tiago Neves and I want to know how Luxemburgo will do to create a balanced team. Imo it will be a disaster...
However, I don't know why Flamengo is the most popular when they are not the most successful in Brazil (behind Palmeiras, Santos & Sao Paolo) and not the most successful in international competitions (behind Sao Paolo, Cruizero, Santos & Internacional). As I know, Rio de Janeiro has only about 16 millions inhabitants and 3 other big clubs: Vasco da Gama, Fluminense and Botafogo. Before the unification of the(old) titles this last month by CBF, Flamengo was on of the most successful clubs in Brazil.
Also, in the final 70´s and early 80´s, when was more easy for people to follow football on radio, Flamengo was able to increase(ALOT) their fanbase at others Brazilian States. Radio Globo(AM) reached almost all of Brazil, and being a Rio based radio, they broadcasted a lot of Rio de Janeiro(Clubs) games. Thats not coincidence that when Flamengo, Vasco, Fluminense, Botafogo will play in the Northeast, North and Center-west of Brazil, in the majority of the times, they have more supportes at the stadium than the local teams. But not against my Bahia:coffee:
Plus, in the early 80´s, Flamengo´s team lead by Zico, Junior, Leandro, Adílio and others won everything from Brazilian Championship, to Libertadores and World Club Championship. That was a amazing team to watch.
Ultimately, clubs like the big 4 of Rio, Corinthians, São Paulo, Palmeiras, Santos, Cruzeiro, Atletico MG, Gremo and Internacional all have national appeal. Thats the reason for the incrdible numbers of supporters.
Brazil is too big, and theres a lot of strong and big teams. Thats what make Brazilian Championship so hard to win(and predict), because every year you have a least 12 team with chances to become Champion...

Diego Mauricio is really called Drogbinha here, very funny nick, means "little Drogba". Imo too early to say what this player could be. Besides the power style, saw nothing to be impressed. One more thing is being overlooked... Now we have a real adversary in Brazilian Market(Leo&Moratti duo). Remember that Berlusca burned many bridges here in Brazil. Well, it is also not easy to take Brazilian player from Milan management's nose since we are already famous with Brazilian before Leo did something with transfer of Kaka, Pato and Silva. No one was unhappy as far as I remember since Carlo era, from Roque Junior until Dida. Milan's experience and good relationship with Brazilian players should play important role for young Brazilian players if offers come to them and one of the offers is from AC Milan.
About Allegri and Brazilian players, I think that he likes Brazilian players but they must be able to play as unit. Ronaldinho was his starter but failed to convince him in the later time due to the need of the team, to play 4-3-1-2 in which Ronaldinho must play in not his usual position and the position itself needs player that can bridge the midfield and forward, not only in the attacking duty but also defensive one, something that Ronaldinho was not that good at.´
The problem is if Allegri knows something about actual Brazilian players. It should be then Braida's job to convince Galliani to sign Brazilian players. The rest will be the use of players by Allegri. If Jucilei and Ganso come here, I am sure that both will start (if they can show that they have showed in Brazil).

Not sure Cassano should be classified as a trequartista, but it'll mostly depend on performances this season imo (I think once fit he'll start there). Robinho definitely shouldn't be called a ACM, as he really isn't suited to the role. He's a second forward and should only be used as such imo.

Let´s see how he play for Brazil in Olympic Qualifier in January 16, since Flamengo was a mess last season and it was his first experience with first team.
No to Bosingwa(too injure prone) and a BIG NO to The Masters of Dirty, filthy, Van Bommel!! Arghhhhhhhhhh:d55: Let stop here before Reza send me a warning.
One more thing is being overlooked... Now we have a real adversary in Brazilian Market(Leo&Moratti duo). Remember that Berlusca burned many bridges here in Brazil. The good and paradoxal thing is that Leo success will make Berlusca spend more and more on Milan imo. He will not swallow Leo and Moratti spending and being successfull so, he will spend, too!!! Lol
It will not be easy to sway players away from Leo(I´m talking about Ganso, Jucilei...) here in Brazil like in the past. He´s really liked by every football people(President, directors, coaches, players) and it will be a war!!!:smileani:
I thought that Berlusconi had good relations with alot of clubs in Brazil (Besides Sao Paolo ;)), and that he had a reputation of treated Brazilian players well? It's just always the impression I got.

Some bad news saw on sky sports espn a few papers and goal.com...that Madrid are close to finalizing the transfer of coentrao...
Not necessarily bad news here. If they get Coentrao, Marcelo is a goner. With our relationship with Madrid and our Brazilian friendly environment, Marcelo could be our LB for the next decade.

Milan to move for Mexes?
http://www.football-italia.net/jan12e.html
Milan are seriously thinking about making a move for Roma defender Philippe Mexes to shore up their defence.
Sunday's 4-4 draw has got Massimiliano Allegri worried that his team are too leaky at the back, especially when one of Thiago Silva or Alessandro Nesta is missing.
Mexes is out of contract at Roma in the summer and though Rosella Sensi has said that the club would like to extend his existing deal, the France international defender insists he is in no hurry.
Sensi spoke with the player yesterday and invited his agent to meet with her at the club's training ground as soon as possible.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Milan are keeping a close eye on the situation with a view to a move either in January or June because there is a lack of faith in Daniele Bonera.
However, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has a strong relationship with Sensi and will endeavour to do everything above board.
If Roma show absolutely no intention of selling Mexes, then Milan will apparently turn their attention to Espanyol's highly-rated centre-back Victor Ruiz.
Any idea about Victor Ruiz???

With this Marcelo thing, MIlan can really build a Brazilian team.

The reason Madrid want coentrao is because defensively Marcelo is average and gets caught upfield too much..I'd prefer coentrao bit Marcelo is an upgrade on nini
.......... When Dinho struggled last season, who can Leo calls to replace him?
By switching from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2. Pato-Huntelaar upfront & midfield of Pirlo, Gattuso, Flamini & Ambrosini or even Abate or Antonini in midfield

The 4-3-3 was the only valid option we could use last year. Allegri now can play with the tactics only because he has Ibra at his disposal who is a major difference from last year. Huntelar was a just a simple poacher, he could never pull an "Ibra".
And a midfiled consisted of Pirlo,Gattuso,Ambro and Flamini can only work with IBRA-DROGBA kind of players. as simple as that :5ok:

Galliani and Berlusca control the majority of our transfers.
Yes but we have our Wild Card...the Ace up our sleeve...
... Galliani...:v103:But they need to respect the coach will, or it will be a recipe for disaster.
I thought that Berlusconi had good relations with alot of clubs in Brazil (Besides Sao Paolo ;)), and that he had a reputation of treated Brazilian players well? It's just always the impression I got.
Berlusconi has ZERO relations in Brazil, Christian. ZERO. Galliani was the one constructing some bridges here, but Berlusca burn that one. Galliani now is a hero for Flamengo(and he openly said here that he is a Flamengo fan), but is "hated" by Gremio and Palmeiras:) I have faith Galliani will construct good relations here, no doubt. He was real nice with everyone here(I didn´t know he has a flat in Rio), but we now are even with everyone... Even more because of our "broke" label.
Regarding your second question, we clearly still have this reputation of being fair with Brazilians. But with the sell of Kaka it became clear that no Brazilian player will be a Bandiera(sp?) of the Club. For the right money, they´re expandable. Plus, these R. Madrid-like rumors about Pato a month ago opened some eyes, too. To be fair, Robinho relative success is a good thing for us Brazilian market wise, but we don´t have that edge anymore.
Yesterday I saw for the first time(in Brazil) the rumor about Inter full court pressing on Ganso. What worries me is that just yesterday too, Ganso(at a press conference) really bashed Santos Mgt...first time I saw it and imo it was really strange. Man, I really don´t want to see Ganso at Inter...
I think Allegri wants talented players that can play to his style, regardless of where that player comes from. I heard Carlo talking about players from all parts of the world. But I´m still waiting to see Allegri talking about the Brazilians we are linked. It´s not like he wasn´t talking about players in Serie A, too... Or he is clueless about SA football or there´s something strange in this silence.
One more time, I want Milan winning regardless of where the players come from. Maybe I´m being unfair, but it´s just that Allegri silence about players we are linked here(S. America) sounds strange for me... NM.
