Depends on whether the quote is true.
Whats the source? If it's Tuttosport, then it's all a crock of shit.
Sorry to post this one here but the deadline for the first match is tomorrow and any one interested might miss it at the members lounge post.

Quote:Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero said Milan “paid €20m for Andrea Bertolacci, so can pay €25m for Roberto Soriano.”

Ah fair enough, I thought that might be the case.

Wouldn't worry too much about Ferrero's comment, he's got a little of the Zamparini in him, he's a bit mental.
A surprisingly insightful piece from Harry Redknapp on transfers. Too often as fans we ignore the human element in football. - http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football...18276.html
Just like how it was Fabregas' girlfriend who convinced Pedro's wife to entice her man to join Chelsea.
Too bad we don't have any Belgians to help out on Witsel.
Professional athletes these days simply have way too many things going on in their lives to make their decisions like players from 20 years ago. Back in the day, a player has maybe two things that he thinks about when making a career decision, money and winning. Money is the salary they get from the team writing him the check. And winning is the team's capability to win trophies.

Nowadays, players have like a million things to consider when making their decisions. There is money from the team, money from the sponsors, money from commercials and other outside ventures such as owning their own businesses. There is family situation, which includes the wife/girlfriend, kids, parents, friends and mistresses. There is still winning somewhere in there too, I am sure. There is the living environment, like weather, proximity to home, shopping, clubbing and all of that. When you mix this many things into one decision making process, it makes things way more complicated and therefore leads to a lot of decisions that seem strange.
So... 13M for Soriano, paid in installments

Seems alright.

Now time to focus on this mercato's Mr. X Big Grin

Maybe we can use Witsel to attract other Belgians then... Sagrin
