Agree. I hate to sound like an old fart, but it's true. I have no problems with tattoos, hair styles, whatever. It's all good. But you gotta keep your professionalism and hard work. There is no denying that there is a big correlation between the cars and the lavish lifestyle and the performances on the field as well as the progression in one's career. It's almost as if once they "make it", football becomes a secondary thing as compared to "free time" and "lifestyle". It's not everyone, of course. But there are way too many examples out there to simply brush this sort of behavior off.

The problem however, is that this should be good only if ALL clubs are in; otherwise, we will have to suffer for many years to come, and even if we somehow hit the jackpot and are able to produce good players and good performance, the players will easily be prized away and it will be hard to remain competitive. Yes, I know that clubs can succeed with this route: Porto, Lille, Atalanta, Ajax, etc. but I just don't see Milan this way. And we will become a feeder, and Porto, Lille, Atalanta, Ajax, etc. are feeders, as good as they are. Hence, I don't think that could work.
I don't mind paying them good salary, but they have to EARN IT FIRST. It is ridiculous that they have not achieved anything (now even CL spot is in danger) and yet they want to get paid like a champion. Those players we should definitely avoid like plague.
I’m talking about internal salary cap, not football-wide. Nobody deserves more, and 2mil is a nice salary these days.
Exceptions can always be made, but not for Dollar or Hakan-like players.
We’ve seen that 4, 5, 7 mil are not making any difference, from sporting perspective. We didn’t have any success in the past decade. We won’t miss anything with having lower salaries, but will be proper profitable business and in line with FFP.
That's what I meant too. If one club adopts this policy unilaterally, it would inevitably place itself in a disadvantageous position in the short run, from the sporting perspective (hard to recruit/keep good players). The "modern" football has seen its most successful clubs on both high revenue and high expense, which is certainly not sustainable, but that's unfortunately going to be the trend for at least a while.
I do agree that whatever we are doing now isn't working, so we may as well just try something new, but I just don't see that happen without a very drastic change in managerial philosophy.
Milan should make contracts but give better bonuses for performance. So the players have to prove and work for it.

#donnanotatopkeeper is great! @freehauge too.
Mirante is apparently joining us on a free transfer

In an ideal world, that would work perfectly, but I can see some top players not wanting to have to prove themselves, because they may find it insulting; just like some top players would refuse to be tried out, if that makes sense.
Overall, I do like the idea and think that it should be the way to go. A relatively lower base salary and a potentially lucrative bonus, as in a true business model.

Italy always labels someone as the "new whoever". There were a bunch of "new Nesta" and I think Bonera was one of them. There were a bunch of "new Buffon", I think Viviano, Mirante, Perin, Meret, Donnarumma, and even Amelia were all among them. (Buffon had a long peak time, so some "new Buffons" already retired before he, lol).
Some players are more fortunate than others. If we picked up Mirante when he was young and gave him plenty of chances to grow without fear of making mistakes, who knows that maybe Mirante would fulfill his potential, become the top goalkeeper of Italy, switch to a top
leech agent, and turn down a salary of 8M.
By the way, I read that Locatelli is making 700K in Sassuolo. What a difference.

Seriously just 700K!!! Fucking 700k
I just took a look at our squad. Why not ditch the wingers, buy Vlahovic and return to good old diamond. We have two very active full backs, the wingers only made crowd there. Also we'd get more compact middle, which wouldn't have to cover for them as much. I'd even put him with Ibra, he is young should be able to cover the defensive duties. And the fire power, long balls, holdup play, that would be a bloodbath.
