Geo, what is the difference between "salary" and "wage"?
Salary is taken from the Latin salarium meaning salt which is what Roman soldiers were paid in back in the day.
I'm not sure of the origin of wage.
jube are losing, donati super goal
im not sure what this says,i dont understand italian but its gazzetta's idea (http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/3751/14305594.jpg) on ibras position
I think they say on the second draw that Ibra is the one who will have to receive the balls of Pirlo to give it to Ronaldinho who will send it to Pato as he will have open spaces ... Very simple, too simple, the guys in La Gazzetta who decided to publish that probably had too much empty space on their page !! :D
And goal by Bari, Donati ...
jube are losing, donati super goal
Milan's Old-boys strike at Juve again :D

Juventus look so terrible, Del Neri's strict 4-4-2 is clearly not working, yet all he did was replace his Pepe and Krasic with Lanzafame and Martinez and then Felipe Melo with Sissoko.
Del Neri will ruin Juventus, I still can't believe they sold Diego. Watching this game (trying to do something to pass the time before the Milan game) just illustrates how poor the Juventus choices were. Motta and Bonucci look pretty good, but they are constantly being left exposed by this old-style midfield of with two wingers, which is a dead system, I think. Wingers seem to only be possible in a 4-5-1 these days.
I hope Diego comes back to Italy, hopefully to us, because I think he was made for Italy. Juventus were stupid to let him go, and watching Bari not just play with Juventus, but actually dominate them, is pretty shocking.

I agree; I always thought Del Neri was an awful coach, not even in the better half of coaches in Italy. It's no coincedence he's failed miserably at Roma and Porto. Absolutely pathetic management for putting the trust in Del Neri. Diego was the best player they had, very stupid by Juve.
So, with 24 mil euros (next year) plus 8 mil per year started this year means Milan paid 24 m (installments) + 16 m (wage+tax for this year) which is 40 m compare to the news spreading in the last couple of days : 30 mil + 12 mil (wage + tax with other 6 mil of wage paid by Barca) which is equal to 42 mil. So, actually it is similar deal with what the news said (30 mil with half of the wage paid by Barca).

The commentators of yesterday said something interesting: no coach in Serie A this season has ever won Serie A !!

I know we're diverting from Mercato now.. now that Season is starting, but I 100% agree. Just watched Juventus play... and they looked simply BAD. No creativity, an old style 4-4-2.. with two defensive minded central midfielders..
Diego was needed...their defense is good.. but rest of team should look like this:
----Marchisio--Melo/Aquilani-----
Pepe-----Diego--------Krasic
-------Quagliarella-----------
They should have sold some of their crap and bought dzeko...With all do respect for Del Piero (i'm a big fan of his)... I think he's holding them back....
Diego sale was biggest mistake...and probably amauri/iaquinta/del piero are not good enough strikers for that team...
Let's hope Allegri is smarter than Del Neri...
The commentators of yesterday said something interesting: no coach in Serie A this season has ever won Serie A !!
Well, hopefully one of them will this season (Assuming the eventual winner is already managing in Serie A).
Another interesting fact - No English manager has ever won the Premier League. Not going to happen anytime soon either...and no Ferguson and Dalgleish (Manager who won it with Blackburn) are Scottish!
----Marchisio--Melo/Aquilani-----
Pepe-----Diego--------Krasic

I agree about Diego, but I think the formation you wrote is still not good enough (who scores ?) ... They've got a good defence, so they could ask to their defenders to keep their positions to be solid no matter what happens, and play an attacking minded game with:
Marchisio (Sissoko/Melo)
Krasic (Pepe) - Diego - Quagliarella (Pepe/Krasic)
Amauri (Quag) - Iaquinta (Del Piero)
If their 4 defenders kept staying in defence, it could have been an interesting team (IMO, Quagliarella can't be counted as a pure striker nor a second striker, he moves a lot but doesn't score nor assist a lot).

Our youth product at Monaco, Aubameyang scored today.
Check out the goal here (http://rutube.ru/tracks/3536185.html?v=0427005414dd9b3c8c6499d79083505e&autoStart=true&bmstart=94389). It's the second goal in the video.
I'm quite excited for our youth coming up. Strasser, Merkel, Verdi, Aubameyang, De Vito, Paloschi, and others all seem to be developing nicely.

You;re right. Bottom line is I don't really like their team.. that's the best formation I'd come up with ..considering what they have but their offensive does not have much. Quagliarella I think was a Mistake. Di Natale would have been better...or a Hamsik (although hes not for sale)

As far as I know, we loan him with the option to buy for the french club, not a good deal IMO even bad deal.

from my understanding, Ibra's salary = 12m + tax(24% in Spain, because he signed last year) = 16m
in Italy, the 12m + tax(50%) would be 24m, however Ibra has lowered his ages in Milan to 8m, which means Milan pays 16m, this basically means Milan pays the SAME amount as Barca paid Ibra, but Ibra gets less than what he got in Spain because of taxes....
I believe the 50% tax rule is not there for contracts after January 2010 ! it exists only for old contracts. which makes even more sense for milan to offload kala, janku etc !
Didn't see the goal, but it's the second goal of Aubameyang this season after the one he scored last week end in Lens.
Pierre Aymeric Aubameyang seems to be the most promising Aubameyang of the 3 brothers (they are 3 ?).
Depending on this season, he could have a role to play sooner or later in Milan (but do Milan really count on him ?).

Milan seem to be playing a 4-2-3-1:
-----------Abbiati----------------
Bonera-T.Silva-Nesta-Antonini
------Pirlo--Ambrosini----------
----------Seedorf--------------
Pato-------------------Ronaldinho
------------Borriello-------------
Pato and Ronaldinho simply look UN-PLAYABLE... Ronaldino will get a 10!
I can't believe how they're burning every Lecce defender..
Pirlo, Ambro, Pato, Ronaldinho, Defense EXCELLENT
Borriello and Seedorf MERDA
If we will use this system.. BUY VDV or Honda...as Seedorf looks to be tripping over his own feet.. he's too static..
Borriello also not good enough..can't wait to see Ibra replace him..will be scary
According to Milanews Kaladze has already done medical examinations with Genoa, tomorrow should be the official announcement look like he is on loan and that Milan will pay him half of salary

Nah I don't think there's a chance of signing another Fullback..and probably not any new players...I think with Huntelaar leaving the Mercato is closed.
I think Ambrosini and Pirlo are FIXTURES in the 3 man midfield.. the third spot is up for grabs (Flamini, KPB, Seedorf, Strasser)....
The offence was amazing and defense had Niente to do....can't wait for Next week..
p.s. HAPPY KALADZE IS GONE..great deal..Loan deal we pay half his wages...

-------------Abbiati-------------------
Bonera---Nesta------Silva-----Antonini-
----------Ambrosini----Pirlo------------
--------------Seedorf-----------------
-Pato----------Borriello--------Ronaldinho
Dinho,Pato, ibra amazing trio. Ronaldinho with this form, is simply amazing. Pato should always stay healthy and however he should step up, he should decide better, pass better, a little bit active on his defending as well. He did well, coming to half of our area when Lecce got the ball. Our front pressing is very good, Small teams doesnt have a chance if we dont miss any key player. its nice to see Allegri is planning to use Kevin Prince Boateng as vice Pato. When missing Ronaldinho, its 4-3-1-2 with Seedorf or Pato on the left, Boateng on the right. it wouldnt be a problem for us as long as Pato and ibra plays in same line up.
we are not playing with 4-3-1-2, wide backs offensive game is less needed in our 4-3-3,Therefore, Bonera can play at RB if he plays solid.
Regarding Midfield trio, with ibra, Pirlo has one spot, he will play better, with inform Dinho and ibrahimovic, his long balls to ibra will be important for us.
we shouldnt miss it. in 4-2-fantasia, Honda is really needed.
We need Flamini at %100, Flamini we saw at Arsenal.
im not hopeful yet, Van Der Wiel and Honda, Please Berlusconi. Please...Please...

Honda to replace Seedorf would make us perfect...so solid..creative..fast...active...
I think Milan played like Milan Ancelotti (4-3-1-2) with his trio Pirlo-Seedorf-Rui/Kaka the difference is Ronaldinho played as left winger supporting two strikers (Bori and Pato who acted like second forward played a bit on the right side).

Berlusconi said we might sign another champion if he is available...
We bought Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
I still can't believe it.
Edit: We might sell Borriello and replace him with Robinho. I'm pretty sure this is a great move, but I hope it doesn't unbalance the side (it means one of Pato/Ronnie/Robinho will have to be benched). Nevertheless, I hope we go for it!
Berlusconi said we might sign another champion if he is available...
Everything comes from TMW:
- Borriello opened the door to Juventus, he said he will have to talk to his agent tomorrow.
- Raoila said the mercato is still open and on TMW, they report he could have spoken about Maxwell in Milan.
- Hypothesis from TMW too: After what said Borriello, they think it could be because we are really after Robinho and would welcome him before the end of the mercato.
If we add that to what you just wrote Tassotti ...
Damn, are they going to make the perfect mercato, the Grand Chelem ?! Robinho and Maxwell would be perfect !! Still 2 days to check the news websites several times an hour !!
PS: I read the whole quote of Berlu, he said "If the player we want was available, we could decide to close the mercato with him" ... That's said !! Another promise of Berlu !! Don't disappoint us !! :D
Sensational rumors came from San Siro.
Mino Raiola:said that summer market is still open for his clients, you could outline a deal that would lead us to Maxwell (by tuttomercatoweb).
Also Borriello's words in the post game could also push Milan to complete the purchase of Robinho
According to Michele Criscitiello of Sportitalia Raiola and Galliani in these moments are having a dinner together, they could discuss the future of Maxwel...
FIFA agent Vincenzo Morabito , speaking of the possible landing Robinho to Milan he confirmed Robinho has an agreement with Milan so the deal is absolutely feasible, It remains only to understand if he may arrive immediately or in January he said
Manschester City ready for a big discount, Robinho's price could be around 10 milion !!!

Vulli, can't you say what you think sometimes about the news you write ? :)
Anyway, just saw that too, I don't know what to think about that, is it real, or is it just rumours ? And why would City want to deal with us ? We didn't sell them Kaka', we stole Ronaldinho, then Ibrahimovic, we refused to sell Ronaldinho and Thiago Silva, each time Milan and Manchester City are linked for something, Manchester City looks like a loser at the end despite all their money.
10M for Robinho is absolutely nothing, we should buy him right now, cash !! :D
PS: It seems everything is done to allow us to live the best mercato of the decade !!

I simply can't believe how this Mercato is playing out..
1 month ago we thought this Mercato was closed and Berlu won't spend a dime. We have Ibra and it look slike Borriello is leaving.
If that's the case, it opens the door to Robinho... any other possibilities? Can't just play with Zlatan and Inzaghi as strikers. Also, if Robinho came, who sits?

Thanks for the news Geo, Tassoti, Vulli, brk... Maxwell and Robinho will be amazing. I will even stop to ask for more midfielder(until January):D
On a side note: I was reading some Lazio forums(mostly in Italian) and they're in love with Hernanes. The guy is class(on and off the pitch) and if I'm not wrong, we have a good relationship with Lazio, right? One can dream... even for the next season:D

Robinho isn't done to play in EPL, it's a waste. And it's a kind of cold ward between him and the club/coach.
Guys, not sure I can bring myself to believe the Robinio rumours. To be honest, I'm note sure I want him at Milan.
He is a great player, but we need reinforcement in midfield and the fullback positions. We need a box to box midfielder to (gradually) take Seedorf's role.
Antonini has showed he is our strongest fullback, but we need backup for him.
If Papa isn't going to play at rightback, then we need someone for that role too.

Well, for this season, we can't get him (you can't play for more than 2 clubs in the same year if I'm not wrong ?). Despite Hernanes, Lazio will surely live another bad season. So he could be available next year, who knows ?
And yes, Maxwell and Robinho would just be perfect ... I just imagine the headaches of Allegri to make the team !! :D
With Maxwell, our LB position is set, and Antonini can, why not, play on the right ... with that, our defence would just be perfect (2 attacking FB, good in defence, and defensive FBs as backups).
I'm just too excited by the game of tonight and all these rumours (few weeks/months earlier, we would have said "only rumours", but after the deal with Ibrahimovic, it seems like everything is possible) to make a clear judgement !! :D

IMO, a player like Robinho can't be refused, especially if the rumours of a 10M price are real ...
Guys is Maxwell any good? He left Inter where he wasn't getting picked regularly. He went to Barca and hasn't been picked regularly (or am I wrong?). Other than Raiola, why Maxwell? Why not just go for one of the many young Brazilians (that Brasileiro suggested) who will become 10 times better than Maxwell.
To an extent, Sacchi had a point. Yes, our mercato has been better this season, but we do sometimes lack imagination.

I'm not convinced. Surely, players should be chosen based on how well they would compliment the squad, not how cheap we are getting them.
He sounds like a low priced, but expensive luxury, when we still need to reinforce other areas.

My god Berlusconi gives us another quote like that and now we gotta live on the edge...everytime he says something its something special. Damn that means I am going to be stuck to the computer all of tomorrow. Problem is I will spend entire August 31 on the plane going to Montreal from Kuwait so all I will be thinking on the plane is the transfers.

Maxwell is IMO one of the most underrated players nowadays ...
In Inter, he was a starter until Mourinho decided to give time to Santon. It seems like the relations between Maxwell and Mourinho weren't the best, and it's why he was sold (there were even rumours at that time that he would join us). In Barcelona, he was used during the injury of Abidal. I don't know why, but Guardiola prefers Abidal who is simply a bad player IMO. Maxwell is twice the player Abidal is. But a lot of the choices of Guardiola look weird to me.
About Robinho, it's just that for 10M, you can have a WC player who is needed (even if it's not the most needed, but I think our midfield will be refreshed next year) as like some stated, we have nobody able to replace Ronaldinho or Pato (Robinho can play in these both positions, even if I would prefer him as a second striker). With potentially Paloschi coming back next year (we tend to forget him with such a mercato), our attack would just be perfect.
With Maxwell and Robinho, we solve most of our problems in defence and in attack. The only needed area to improve would be the midfield.
Okay, maybe I won't be dissapointed if Maxwell comes. Just a little concerned that he isn't favoured by two coaches that have won the last two editions of the champions league.
Im still not convinced on Robinio...unless Ronaldhinio is planning on leaving (I'm not sure he still is)

wow..tough decision...i'm sorry but after today's performance it's possible Robinho is on the bench...and I can tell you right now he does NOT want to be on the bench...
Van der Wiel is too expensive and Maxwell could be a descent option. I'd certainly prefer a RB or LB over a another attacker at this point. Only problem may be if Borriello leaves, then we suddenly lost 2 strikers.
Complicated scenario.

thanks for that post Duco mate
it seems as though both huntelaar and borriello are on the way out.
Huntelaar to schalke/tottenham for around 12-14 million & Borriello to Juve not sure of that price but either way as long as robinho comes in were all good to go upfront
btw is jankulovski sticking around guys ? kaladze to genoa but wb janku
Huntelaar has played his last game for Milan.
Boriello will ONLY leave if Robinio comes, and we won't be lacking that many centre forwards as it appears. If Zlatan is injured in comes Pippo, if Pippo is injured then Pato pushed forward with Ronnie and Robinio behind.
Id still prefer Milan to sign a rock of a fullback, nobody comes to mind...
Geo, you've said almost I wanted to say :D
I remember 6, 7 years ago when we have 4 of the best strikers at the same time: Sheva, Pippo, Giladinho & Vieri and our formations were 4-3-1-2 & 4-3-2-1.
You know what I mean: 4 best strikers competed for just 1 1/2 places, and noone seemed too unhappy.
Now, we have 3 best strikers for 3 places with no good sub. Borri/Pippo for Ibra, Odu/Prince for Pato and none for Dinho. Simply worriable. And of course Dinho-Ibra-Pato can't play together every match.
If Robinho comes, he knows that if any of the 3 not fit, he can play, the chance is great, and the competition is just perfect. He competes with only 1/3 player, not even 1 player :D
Any world class player is afraid of competition? A good team need competition at every position.
In the Champion League final, if any of the 3 get injured or lose form, we are still relieved, and you know, we could really talk about the CL final.
Our defense needs improvement, but it is quite solid already and if the attack is so strong, it can keep the spirit very high and lessen the job for the defense. Simply said: if we score 3 goals, it is OK to concede 2 goals, but I think it is not easy to score against Milan now, we have clear idea how to defend and the mids could help.
Let's welcome Robinho :D

Our defense needs improvement, but it is quite solid already and if the attack is so strong, it can keep the spirit very high and lessen the job for the defense. Simply said: if we score 3 goals, it is OK to concede 2 goals, but I think it is not easy to score against Milan now, we have clear idea how to defend and the mids could help.
Let's welcome Robinho :D
good post :) everyone whos against the robinho transfer has to keep in mind everything he just said^ he can cover for any of our strikers and i wouldnt even be suprised if he did a good job in midfield, that wont happen though. honestly guys our defense is good for this year. we have next mercato to worry about our defense. atm we have bonera whos looking prety solida nesta and silva always solid, milan knowing nesta is prety injury prone either one gets injured we have yepes to cover, if our lb or rb get injured we have papa there. tbh if maxwell and robinho transfers go through and we get rid of hunter and borriello we can actually say we have a complete squad and start talking about cl final and wining the scudetto and go back to the olden days where we'd fool around with inter :p283:
and i think amelia deserves a shot at playing our main gk after his impressive debut in the trofeo tim he made some beautiful saves

more good transfer news..
AC Milan are poised to sign Uruguayan central defender Sebastian Coates (19) from Nacional before the end of the month.
http://www.footballpress.net/?action=read&idsel=68398
sorry i just go crazy on this forum when we sign players:D
Now that you mention Giovinco....did anyone see Parma's game today?? I only saw some extended highlights and it seemed like Giovinco had a great debut and was at the center of most of Parma's attacks. I would love to see him in Milan in a year or two.
About Juve, they will improve and win games and probably be mixed up somewhere around the top. But they were miserable today. Not only did they lose, but they were dominated at times and could barely create something offensively. To me, they look too "mechanical". Meaning that there is no creativity and just hard work. They have plenty of work-horse players that are without a doubt always useful to a team, but where is the creativity going to come from?? I can't believe they gave Giovinco away and sold Diego only to rely on Krasic and Pepe to give them some spark. Both are good players and work tirelessly up and down the flank, but Diego has more creativity in his pinky then these two players put together. And that's exactly what they were lacking today, creativity. Someone to just take the ball off of the defenders' legs and simply make scoring opportunities. Who knows, maybe things will change for them a little bit with Aquilani.
About Robinho, I too am split like some people here. He would without a doubt be another giant signing. Raising the confidence, enthusiasm and quality through the roof. He'll be able to play in any position in our attacking scheme and then we will without a doubt have the best attack in Europe. However, another part of my head says if we actually do have some cash available then it might be smarter to spend it on other parts of the squad that may be more needed at this time. Like a CM/ACM (i don't trust Seedorf and I don't think he'll continue like he did today until May) or a full-back. I can't help but praise Antonini for what he's shown over the last year or so. And he proved again yesterday that he is for real. Our left flank is very dangerous with him there. Now just imagine if we could do the same on the right. Have a flying wing-back tirelessly running up and down overlapping Pato and getting into dangerous positions.
Anyhow, I guess will find out what's going to happen probably tomorrow. Also, we should soon be hearing news on the proposed departures (Huntelaar, Kaladze) as well which should tell us a little bit of what the club is planning to do. If Boriello goes as well, then I think we will definitely go for Robinho. Good part is the wait wont be long as there are only 48 hours left in the market.
@MilanMikey....Ganso would be an immediate star IMO. The only problem right now is that he's out for 6 months with a knee injury. So I think clubs will hesitate to go after him for the time being. Which by the way should be be a great opportunity for Milan to do something with him. Maybe not sign him, but show interest to him. That way we show the player that despite the injury the club still holds him in high regard and is interested. It would work well with the player for future negotiations.

@nefremo great post, id rather just borriello leave and robinho comes in, kaladze and janku out maxwell in. that would be an amazing mercato tbh.. and ur completely right on the ganso situation, hes already said he'd only join ac milan real madrid or barca, if we showed interest in him now he'd give us much more respect and choose us over both if the wages/price to land him is considerable on both parts.. thats always been the problem, every player wants to come to acm ive never heard of a player who said no to the possibility of playing for us.. ALSO isnt our relationship with parma pretty good? im pretty sure we loaned them a coupel players here and their and we bought gila off them for a good price im sure that money helped.. maybe giovinco is a possibility in the next few years who knows.. but tbh in attack IF we do get robinho we have the best attack in europe no questions asked. also noone replied to my post on that guy coates, hes a very promising cb apparently any facts to that? and the article was posted today that we're going to get him by the end of the transfer market which is in 48 hours.

Thanks for putting the english version.
With how Ronaldinho playing now, Milan should keep him. He is not the player we know before: lazy, ineffective (only very effective in 1 moment for thousand of actions), put pressure to the team when he lost the ball. I start liking new Ronaldinho now. :D
Great stuff from Allegri that he can accommodate what Milan have and what Milan need to do. Ronaldinho still can play as left wing forward with in the same time Pato playing as second striker! Allegri also make new players fro two most players I hate (the behaviour on the pitch) Ronaldinho and Seedorf. Now Gattuso seemed also got influenced from Allegri.
About Robinho, Aficio already said it all. If Robinho comes, no need to worry since he won't be a normal substituter but special one who can have ton of games since the chance to play is extremely big!

QUARESMA. he was sold to a club called Beşiktaş for 7.5m, surely hes worth more then that and hes still young and SURELY he shouldnt be playing for such a small club.. we should take advantage of him next year, offer him 10m, small club theyll take it right away and wel try to find his top form again

I am a huge fan for Portuguese wingers, but good god not Quaresma! This guy has been a flop anywhere outside of Portugal, which is why his price tag was so low. In his still young career, he has failed to make any kind of impact for Barcelona, Inter and Chelsea! He has proven to be unable to handle the big leagues. Furthermore, Besiktas is not a small club, they are one of the biggest clubs in Turkey. And in the last couple of years, Turkey clubs has been spending a lot of money to beef up their league. Besiktas probably would be in the top 6 or 7 in Serie A right now, so forget about taking a player away from them for a measley 3 million euro profit.

really? never really looked into turkish league thats why but what you said makes sence 3mil is nothing if they are a good club.. thats like us trying to get him from fiorentina it wouldnt be as easy as i thought.. well scrap that i guess. i dont know, ive always been a fan of quaresma because of his days in portugal he reminded me of c.ronaldo with less pace i love players that run down the wings and take on 2-3 players hence why maicon is in my top 10 favorite players in modern day football.. i love that style of play.so quick and affective.. antonini is really starting to impress :) him and r10 make a lethal combo imagine when ibra comes in.. i was just looking back at last year. all we lacked was finishing, with pato in good form and ibra their i think we already could compete for trophies. if we sign 1 more big name and a good midfielder or fullback bye bye inter
It's too good to be true if we sign robinio.
now we prioritily need a quality defensive midfield, we only got flamini under 30.pirlo 31.gattuso 32,ambro 33, seedorf 34;we will be out-runned.

Isnt he on about £160,000 - £180,000 a week....but I think to play for AC Milan and with Pirlo Dinho Pato Seedorf Silva Nesta he will take a cut to 100,000 - 120,000 euro still alot but again commercially and name wise Binho will make you money before even stepping onto a pitch.
Holy s**t if we got Maxwell and Binho now I'd cry , sure we were used to huge transfers from 1988 - 2005 but the last 9 or 10 mercatos have been more about economics than building a team.
Maxwell is solid in defence and good going forward doesn't have a record of beeing injury prone.Robinho is versatile and can play in midfield as well as on the wings and up front , he wants to prove himself with a big club after Real Merda treated him badly sometimes. He is a hard worker isnt a trouble maker and I do not think he is as huge a party boy as some people think ....bring the two of them imagine a mercato of Papa , Yepes , Amelia , Montelongo , Ibra , Coates , Maxwell , Robinho added to that promising talents like Merkel Odu Strasser and Verdi thats a great mercato new players quality players hungry players ...ahhhhh its going to be an exciting few days.

Marco was my favorite out of two last year. But last night Borriello`s weaknesses we so openly exposed with this "new" 4-3-3 where Allegry asks form players to play fast football and get involved in every action rather than just open up space for pato and dinho. Borriello is too slow for this "new" milan. maybe its time to go fro him, though he deserves a chance for his effort last year.
If bothe Hunter and Borri leave, don`t think we should just go after Robinho..we will need anther CF. Maybe Paloschi???
No, I think three players for that one CF spot is enough, Pato, Ibra and Pippo.

get your eyes around this! from goal.com so believe what you will but to get Kala out and Robinho in, in one move would be genius!
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has said more players could arrive at the club before the end of the transfer window.
Having landed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Saturday from Barcelona in a major coup, the chief is building a framework to sign Robinho from Manchester City.
"If a certain player interests us and is functional to our needs then we will be ready for another hit," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Robinho has been linked with Barcelona, but with Pep Guardiola raising the barriers, Milan have been left with room to declare their interest.
Sportmediaset.it reports the Brazilian has fallen out with Roberto Mancini and is only keen on joining clubs in Spain or Italy having rejected interest from several Greek and Turkish sides.
A loan deal between Milan and City has been mooted and a Kakha Kaladze exit could help facilitate the move.

i almost forgot about Klaas! i think it's in the clubs best interests to sell him, as i don't see him getting serious match time; the competition is too stiff. if we can do this and swap Borri for a young midfielder, i'll be more than happy with this Mercato.

SILVIO BERLUSCONI wants another big signing.
The signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic only made Milan President Berlusconi hungry, as now he wants to sign another World Class player, and rumours suggesting it will be Manchester City’s Robinho.
“I want another champion,” said Italy Prime Minister in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. “If a certain player interests us and is functional to our needs then we will be ready for another hit.”
It appears that Robinho will come to Milan only if the Rossoneri sell Marco Borriello. “Marco will decide [his own future], he knows that this is the situation and his chose will depend on what is right for his career,” he said.
As reported during the past week, Borriello is very wanted in Turin, and he said that he would consider a move to Juventus. Meanwhile, reports earlier today suggested Milan are close to Robinho.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF juventus wants him I think he will go, as he cannot win his place in the starting lineup vs Zlatan. He would have limited minutes here.

Kala is gone, Hunter is worth 14mil, Ibra and Robinho coming to Milan, damn are we dreaming?
i'm sorry guys but i am not as excited as most here about Robinho & Maxwell each for a different reason:
- Maxwell for me is not the solid fullback we are searching for, he is really not good defensively, not sure if he is an upgrade on Zambro in that department to be honest, the only thing is that he is younger. we have enough average players in defense which we are trying to cut down and there is no way i see Maxwell as anything more than an average player...you can make a 5 min vid about all his mistakes with Barca last season and he was not even a starter.
- as for Robinho, he is a STARTER and that's that. He will not be happy to wait for one of our starters to get injured to have his chance and although he might not cost much (if the 10Mio rumour is true), we will be counteracting all the efforts that were made to cut down the wage bill by putting some1 like him on the bench as back-up. I think we should get a replacement for Dinho-Pato but it should be someone who is not such a high-profile player.
The Mercato so far has been excellent (getting Ibra makes a lot of difference) and getting too excited in the last 2 days might not be such a positive thing. I would be more happy if we do nothing and keep our options open for January maybe than rushing into un-necessary deals now. What we really need to rush now is getting rid of Kala, Janku, Onyewu & Oddo.
I agree with all who said that our midfield is still too old (even with Flamini, Boateng, and Strasser) maybe a Van der Vart is the better option than Robinho: lower profile, lower wages, will be more ready to accept the bench, but still he will have more chances to play as he can replace also Pirlo & Seedorf (probably becoming his long-term replacement)
If we are really going to get Robinio, and we suddenly find ourselves with 5 centrebacks (6 if Coates arrives), then shouldn't we play 3 men in defence - They are strong enough!

maxwel robinho????
omg guys,i cant believe my eyes..how is that possible??
i said so many times that we have t stop dreaming the previous days, that i feel an idiot today..
anyway for me robinho is a gr8 playr, that can find a friendly enviroment here, which im sure he needs so as to start performing as he can..BUT i dont think they can all 4 play together(of course anyone can fit them in a line-up),but we would have many problems we would need an essien and a mascherano togehter at our halfs so as to not be totally outrunned..
im pretty sure that binho would have to be benched most of times..
also is this going to be a loan deal too??we already have ibra and KPB loaned,if we have a gr8 season we wont be able to keep them all..unless we we just "re-loan" binho again next year..
ps..if dinho continues with this motivation and this fitness HE will be our gr8est transfer,gr8er thatn both binho and ibra together..
honestly yesterday was like an artistic performance..
ps2 i also think that we dont need a symmtrical system..dinho HAS to play on the left, even if yesterday played some minutes as an AMC he was not even close to what he did on the first half, and pato is better as a SS,although clearly on the right..
symmetry has nth to do with balance,i saw a far more balanced team yesterday than it would be with pato as a clear RF..
ps3 Just imagine pato and dinho with ibra "giving" them even more space and time for decisions that yesterday..
Guys, useful site:
http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_clockwatch
one thin is 100% sure imo..
robinho will not stay at manchester..
so its either brasil again(i m not sure, just an idea)
barcelona
or us
he also said he wants spain or italy..other choices?inter? real? hmm..
what an excellent choice for rotation reasons woyld he be btw???
we always suffer when dinho or pato are out..he can play actually everywhere..LWF RWF SS FW AMC..

Why does everyone assume that Robinho has to be a substitute? Lineups are not set in stone. You don't just send the same guys out there all the time unless somebody gets hurt. There's no reason Milan couldn't rotate the four -- Ibra, Pato, Ronaldinho and Robinho -- so that all of them gets basically equal playing time and equal opportunities to start with each taking his turn coming off the bench. That would keep all of them rested and reduce the chances of fatigue and injury.
yes rick i cannot say that i disagree..
but we have to have a stability, for e.g. in important matches who would be the starters??
imagine we're in ch.l. semis and we dont have a clear plan, and we keep rotating..

with Rotation we then end up like Inter will do eventually with Benitez in charge, i think the best way foward is get a foward lineup and stick with it, with this the players selected will tend to gel quicker and wont need to adjust as much to there new playing partners.
Its hard to take serious people who say we need to play 4-2-4... come on. Allegri is a serious ITALIAN coach, not a clown.
And those who say Robinho cannot be a sub - yes he can and will. Season has 50-60 games. We have 3 quality players up front! Robinho and Pippo makes it 5. Borriello can leave today as far as Im concerned. If one of Pato, Ibra, Dinho cannot play we loose all of our conception and that should not happen in a great lcub. That is why robinho is a good solution. Can play as RW, LW... Pato can play CF of course as he is one.
This move would make us really strong as we could rotate and prepare our team phisically in periods etc. Fingers crossed.

Just messing about obviously , but Im hoping we get Robinho sure some may not want to sit on the bench sometimes but thats the risk you signing for a team with such a powerful attack.

Yes. Agree. Inter have Pandev, Milito, Etoo and Balotelli last season. IMO they're all quality strikers, competing for 1 1/2 place. Competition in the right dose is always healthy.

* Getting rid of so many players will help balance Wage Budget
* Robinho can replace Ronaldinho, Pato, or Ibra..there are MANY MANY Matches to be played and you can guarantee there will be injuries (hopefully minor)
* Honda will provide fresh midfield legs, a clear Seedorf Replacement. Technical, mobile, and opens HUGE door to an ASIAN Market which is very important and will help increase Revenues, Brand
* We can also play a Flat 3 midfield with Flamini/Ambro/Pirlo
* I'm also ok with the idea of keeping Bonera at RB, Antonini LB with Zambrotta, Abate and Sokratis as direct replacements (Maxwell is bonus, not needed as he's more attacking then a good defender)

Gooch is playing for free isn't he?
Gooch is playing for free isn't he?
Gooch is playing free for an extra year. This means nothing more than that if we have him in our squad for the next 3 years, we'll still have to pay for 2 years of wages.
Kaladze, Janku and Oddo gone would be reasonable, they're getting on in age, and could seriously find starter spots in other, smaller teams. Milan is just too big of a club for them now.
Honda in? I'm all for it if we manage to get rid of the abovementioned players. I rate him high based on his performances for CSKA and Japan. Plus, reports in July indicated that Fly Emirates was going to pay his wages should we actually sign him (dunno if it was true though).
Robinho, I'm sure everyone here knows my opinion. I want to see them play Ro-Ro-Pa behind Ibra. I would welcome him with open arms, moreso than Ibra (only because I still think he's arrogant, his bigtalk shows it, but his skills make up for most of that). If he comes tomorrow, I'm gonna save up some cash and splash it on all 4 Jerseys :D
Maxwell...... I know he's been stated as available, and he does seem a good addition, but how come everyone thinks he'll actually be available? He played for Barca last night and even conceeded a penalty. Not too convincing if you ask me. If we added him, then we'd have an ultra offensive lineup, but what we need is balance, not gung-ho-football. if that was the case, then we might as well play ambro in defense and abate or whoever on the wing....

We all know three of the four in this defence like to push up. Who goes back when that happens? You convince me of that, and I'll agree to anything you say about this formation.

Agreed... If we decide to play a 4-2-3-1 which we played last night ...with Pato in a more advanced role. then Robinho would just simply replace Seedorf. You can then take one of those guys out and replace with a flat 3 Midfield of Flamini/Gattuso/pirlo/Ambrosini/Prince
For Defence, I don't think I want Maxwell come to think of it. We're so offensive minded now, I like idea of Bonera and Antonini playing as they're more defensive minded and it certainly poses a solid defensive unit...
Antonini really impressed me last night....

Why is every one so excited about Robinho? Come on guys :stress: We need VdV or at least Honda, not this negative attitude clown, who always is the disturbing figure in any team he plays.
Maxwell is welcome though :devs:
If the simple fact that everyone is excited and you not don't answer your question, well... Never mind.
Btw, Robinho wasn't a disturbing figure in Santos before, now when he come back and never in Brazil NT. In Real Madrid also he just "became" this figure when Calderon wanted the purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo and need to sell him to afford the price. After that, bad press about Robinho started to surface in As and Marca(what a surprise) that are Real Madrid official press filial.
Important to say, that after the first attempt of As and Marca to undermine Robinho started(he coming from Parties to the training sessions), Iker Casillas lose no time to going to the press and defend Robinho and deny the event, saying it was a big lie. I never came up to defend Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Adriano regarding this issue because it was true, they love the night. But Robinho doesn't deserve this label of party boy...
Funny thing?? One of his best(if not, the best one) season at Real Madrid came playing under Capello's orders... A coach know for his patience with antics and unprofessional behaviour, right?

Firstly, Maxwell is a LB, he can't play on the right at all.
Then, actually, this team is too much unbalanced IMO.
I think Robinho coming wouldn't change our formation and that would still look like that:
Abbiati
Antonini - Nesta - T.Silva - Maxwell
Flamini - Pirlo - Ambro
------------------------ Ronaldinho
----- Pato ------------------------
-------------- Ibra ---------------
Robinho would play instead of Ronaldinho, Pato or Ibrahimovic depending on who is the most tired, who is injured or who doesn't play well.
In defence, when Maxwell goes forward, you ask to the 3 others to stay behind, if it's the turn of Antonini, same with the 3 others, and sometimes, you can send T.Silva too with one of the fullbacks. This way, you always have 2 defenders behind, 3 in most cases.
And if you ask me, the subs for each position would be:
Abb -> Amelia
Antonini -> Bonera (good game yesterday)/Zambro/Sokratis
Nesta -> Sokratis
T.Silva -> Yepes
Maxwell -> Antonini/Zambro
Flamini -> Gattuso/Boateng
Pirlo -> Seedorf
Ambro -> Boateng/Seedorf
Ronaldinho -> Robinho
Pato -> Robinho/Odu
Ibra -> Inzaghi/Robinho/Pato
Add Merkel and Strasser if we have a big injury crisis, and the team is ready for a long seasons with titles at the end ... :D
Anyway, no way Robinho can play in midfield at the place of Seedorf like yesterday !!

Yes I would agree. Against bad teams we COULD do the 4-2-3-1.. but in CL and against top Teams I like the formation of yesterday. Agree about everything you said about RObinho...
Honda would be PERFECT direct replacement for Seedorf...
With Flamini/Pirlo/Ambrosini/Gattuso/Strasser/Merkel/Boateng as Defensive Mid's... Honda is important.....
Get rid of (if possible): Kaladze, Jankulovski, Oddo, Borriello, then eventually, Seedorf (1-2 years left maximum)

Mino Raiola, who is representing Robinho, is traveling to Manchester to discuss with the leaders of Man City a possible transfer of Robinho to Milan... The news confirms that the deal for Robinho is ata advanced stage
Seedorf position last night was left-centre midfiel in the three midfielder formation and as far as I understand what Allegri expects from Seedorf is same, to play Seedorf in midfield. Because of this I don't think Robinho can substitute Seedorf aka playing in midfield. Robinho is forward, second striker or wing forward and not a midfielder.

Whoa. This jackas$ is great. :ilol:

We're surely friendly and being generous to Juve. Borriello would improve their attack slightly IMO. Maybe with Krasic and Pepe in both wings he could do something that Amauri (a slightly worse version of Borriello) cannot do.
yes rick i cannot say that i disagree..
but we have to have a stability, for e.g. in important matches who would be the starters??
imagine we're in ch.l. semis and we dont have a clear plan, and we keep rotating..
It would depend on matchups. The best lineup against Real Madrid may not be the best lineup against Manchester United. And I'm not speaking of a blind rotation. If Robinho wasn't in quite as good form as the others, he could play more against lesser clubs rather than the big matchups, or it could be one of the others. Allegri would just have to look at every combination game by game and do his best to balance out the playing time to keep everyone happy. Besides, at some point in every game one of those guys will come off and whichever player is on the bench can get 20 or 30 minutes.
People keep talking about Seedorf replacements:
Robinio, Boateng, Van Der vaart, Honda etc
None of these guys can play in Seedorf's position. The reason why Seedorf was so good was because he had the same creativity as these guys, but he also had the tactical understanding, willingness to defend and strength.
These guys are all playmakers/ wingers. With the front 3 that are never going to defend, we need players who will help the fullbacks. Schneider is a bit of a pitbull and works hard for the team, but hes gone. Hernanes seemed like a box to box player, but hes gone. Asamoah Gyan is another, but we aren't even linked. Maybe Ganso at Christmas - he might be cheaper now he is injured, or is he too attacking too??

Agree. The type of this player is extremely hard to find. Many players have only one or two type of abilities Seedorf had in his old time.

You make a sound case, my friend. I'll happily conceed to your points, bar two points. I just because we have next to the best attack in the world, doesn't mean our defence won't be caught out. I would put Nini on the left and Papa on the right, but thats just my opinion. With Thiago running up all the time, I'd feel a lot safer if we didn't only have Nesta in the back, Godlike as he is or not. Of course, if we change our formation and play total football, then thats an entirely different proposition.... :D
I also don't feel Robinho should be stuck on the bench. I'd rather have Pato as an ACM or SS with Ibra than waste the chance to put Robinho on the wing and watch the magic show. The only thing we would need would be a class Makelele-ish midfielder to play in front of defence and distribute (like he did in his peak for Chelsea and Madrid).

Maybe it is an advice that Moggi gave to Berlu ? Because if Maxwell and Robinho come, that will mean we got 3 of the players of Raoila ... and they're all interesting/great players.
I will name you one: Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Good example even his defensive or strength is not matched (even pretty far) with Seedorf time but I agree Basti could play well in Seedorf position (but he should be told that he has defensive duty too (so that he doesn't play like he showed before he played in WC 2010) compared to his position in Germany NT that his major task is about 50% creating/managing play from defense (offensive/creative task) and 50% defensive one.
You make a sound case, my friend. I'll happily conceed to your points, bar two points. I just because we have next to the best attack in the world, doesn't mean our defence won't be caught out. :dcool:
The problem I see with this kind of formation is that despite the magicness possibly happening with all of them, we also put all our eggs at the same place (on the pitch) and have no more solution on the bench if that doesn't work in some games ... Also, if these guys play well all together, we will mainly work on this formation, and the problem is that there will be no replacement for most of the attacking players. The season, especially when you're in the race for titles, is long, and like I expect our team to win at least Serie A this year, I think sending all our (potential) stars on the pitch is a mistake. One injury and we're dead, we would have to change everything again, while by letting one of the guys on the bench, one injury wouldn't be a problem as we would have a proper and as good replacement coming from the bench.
With some good rotation, we could have a fresh team for the whole season in attack.
About the defence, like I said, it's all about the orders of Allegri. Even if we play with Maxwell and Antonini together (both like to go forward), these guys are not stupid I think, they have a brain and can use it, not like Abate (oups, sorry, I like to say he has no brain :D), and as a consequence, if Maxwell for example goes forward, I don't think Antonini will be stupid enough to go also forward and let Nesta alone for example if T.Silva pushed forward at the same time. Actually, yesterday, it was obvious that Allegri asked to Antonini to keep his position behind in second half for example, and he did it well. We almost didn't see him at all during this second half, there was no need to push, he didn't push.
And regarding your last sentence (the bold one), yes, seriously, that's a pleasure to talk about how to use at best our players, who to bench or not, etc ... I just remember 1 week and a half ago, the only discussions we could have was either Sokratis or Bonera or Abate or Oddo on the right of our defence, and can Ronaldinho play more central.
PS: It's sad that we had to wait for a so long time these new players (well, I'm already counting Robinho and Maxwell in :D), because if it had happened earlier this summer, it would maybe have launched a new passion in San Siro with a full stadium for at least the first games of the season ...
If the Robinho thing goes through as well, I hope everyone will remember what I've been saying for years -- late in the transfer period is the best time to deal. It's when bargains become available. No use putting a gun to your mouth because the transfers aren't done by the end of June. :D

Don't know why u guys would rather have Pippo coming off the bench than someone like Borreillo. If that is based on the game against Lecce, then yes. But if you based their performance based on last year, why would you not want Borreillo coming off the bench. He is the only Tank be aide Ibra for Milan. What if Ibra gets hurt, putting Patoas CF is good when!Klan plays against attacking side, but what about those defensive side? Even with Robinho and Dinho, and Pirlo, Milan can do what Barcelona and Spain do all the time by playing passing the ball around and beat opponent by low pass, as Milan just don't have the midfield like them. Borreillois need in Milan.
I really like Borriello and would be very sad to see him go. Also, I am not comfortable with just having Ibra and Inzaghi as the only two out-and-out strikers in our squad. Sure we could play R80-Pato-Robinho up front if Ibra is out but I really would like to hold on to one of Hunter or Borriello if I could. Unless of course there is a youth team player like Beretta that can make the step up in times of need.
Only benefits I can see of signing Robinho and selling both Huntelaar and Borriello would be a) Money and b) room for Paloschi to come back to Milan next summer.
He's also the agent of Robinho ?!

You know who else he manages that happens to be a Milan fan? ;) In a couple of years, we could work on getting Mario Balotelli! After all ex-Interisti do make very good Milan legends....LOL.
I read from another forum that Kaladze refused to go to Genoa. Is there any truth in it?
I will name you one: Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Yep, good player!
The general director of Juventus, Marotta, is located in Milan where he is formalizing the deal that would be loan with the right of buying for Marco Borriello. The signing is imminent
It look likes that by tomorrow Robinho should be a rossonero but I do think that we still need Boriello
If we do get Robinho, I don't think it is fair to keep Borriello if he wants to leave. But why do we have to LOAN him? instead of getting some freakin $$$?
Still remember Oddo's stint with Bayern.

It's not about preferring Inzaghi to Borriello I think ...
I would also prefer having Borriello coming from the bench to replace Ibra instead of Inzaghi. But Robinho is a player who could fit in all our attacking positions. And it seems it's either him or Borriello. Borriello can only replace Ibra IMO. That means we have 3 guys to play for the same position, and no replacement for both Ronaldinho and Pato.
It's why I personnally welcome this choice of taking Robinho.
Arjun, maybe in a couple of years, but only when Ibra will leave. I don't want Balotelli, Pato, Ibra, Ronaldinho, Robinho, and probably Paloschi. That would be too much ... :D

I like Borri because he really does his best every game giving 110% you can clearly see that. But if asked If i would like Binho or Borri I would choose Binho. If you do go grazie Marco.

With Huntelaar leaving and Borriello probably leaving because of Robinho, at least, these two players show they want to play football. They want to keep their career alive, they want to score, no matter where. Even if it's a bit disappointing to see them give up after the first obstacle (that means they're not 100% Milan players, but who is in our team ?), I say "Respect" to them too because at least, they show they are football players.

On this page, it's the contrary, Kaladze doesn't want to leave to Genoa because he doesn't want to reduce his wages ... 2M instead of 4M, what a difference !! These guys need to wake up !!
What's the news on Huntelaar?? I keep checking sites but nothing new. I thought it would be official by now.
*About Kaladze......then Milan just needs to pay 50% of his wages and let Genoa pay the other 50%. It's not ideal, but we'll cut down 2mil on the wage, which is huge. Much better then paying 4mil to a player that won't see the field at all this season.
We have been discusing one thing, and Id specially like to ask brasiliero about it: What do you expect from Robinho as a sub? We now have 4 players for 3 places. All 4 of them are world class players, but one of them will have to play less, much less. Can Allegri do it? Wil that influence on positive atmosphere etc. Robinho wants to play full time, no? He will not do it in here...

Boriello has reportedly agreed terms with Juve.
Rather than basing our opinions from last year, I would rather say that it's got more to do with the player's decisions. Pippo knows his role and won't mind coming off the bench (he's almost retiring, knows his limits, and accepts this), whereas Borri, as good as he is, does mind (He's at the age where he figures he should be playing second fiddle to no one, and I would agree with him because I would feel the same way). Thomasson was so good for us because he didn't mind being 3rd or 4th striker in all those years he played behind Pippo and Sheva. Borri thinks he's too good to waste away on any bench, even if it's one that will win him the Scudetto and CL :wth:
Geo on the otherhand, has highlighted the technical side of the story, and I would definitely agree with him.

Which is also why I would tend towards having Robinho with us, than without him.
Latest news says Milan has agreed to loan Borri to Juve. Thats the sign folks!
Ready your pompoms!:guw:
We're writing about Robinho, Maxwell, well, good/great players.
Juventus are on Borriello (good player) and Benalouane, a defender of Saint Etienne. Poor Juventus, Borriello will be their best player if he goes there, I'm sure about that, but Benalouane ?! The guy is a VERY AVERAGE defender, and they're going to take him ... They will have 11 new players if I'm not wrong, and there is no high profile player.
Del Neri is building a solid mid-table team, but that's it, when I see the names of these players, and when I imagine the time they will need to start playing well together (11 new players !!), I think they won't be able to finish this championship higher than the 6-7th place. It was the fear some posters had for Milan on this forum few weeks/months ago. Well, it's going to happen with Juventus.

Kind of agree, but it would have been nice to see Boriello battle for a spot and at least become an amazing sub. Who knows he could come on in the CL final and score..oh well.:guw:
I know Juve aren't in the CL, but they should show more ambition than merely accepting the cast aways from their direct rivals. Very dissapointed in Juve's management.

I would prefer to keep Borriello and have the option of going to him or Inzaghi if Ibra needed to rest or got injured. However, realizing that this is not PES, Borriello has ambition and I respect that.
I feel like Inzaghi has been given new life by Allegri, against Lecce he was so active, I remember that one shot that was like a canon that missed the post just barely. But, you can argue that Lecce was a 4-0, his goal against Barca was magical. I think Allegri made a choice, Inzaghi is his backup to Ibra and Pato is capable of playing CF, and he needs subs for his wingers.
I just remember long periods of time last year where we forced Huntelaar to play as a SS or RWF, and clearly we want to preserve Pato and I don't see how getting Robinho would do anything, but help us preserve Pato and Ronaldinho, as well as provide us a great creative offensive option from the bench.
As far as our midfield goes, I'm not so sure I would want a midfielder. Allegri has big plans for Flamini and Boateng and those are two young and hungry players. Plus, I think there are human beings in this squad, and Gattuso and Ambro must be respected. Part of being a great manager is understanding these personal relationships and understanding what will get the best out of the team. Gattuso is clearly one of those locker room forces, so I can understand why getting a midfielder may not be the biggest priority.

The deal for Borriello would be a one year loan (2M given to Milan) and an option to buy him at 13M.

Yes, Robinho can play in Pato and Dinho role, but so can Verdi, Merkel and even Abate. So can Ibra or Borreillo. Point I am trying to make is that, even if one of Dinho and Pato got injured, Ibra can fill in those two roles and have Borreillo plays as CF, or even vice versa. But if Ibra is out, both Pato and Pippo cannot fill in the CF role. I already explained Borri is the tank off the bench, not going to get into that again.
I would not say Borreillo thinks he is too good to be a bench player, rather I think he wants first team football to increase his chance to play for IT. Credits to him for that.
Unlike Kala, Oddo and Janku.
So (assuming Hunter and Borriello are going) who are the players we want to be rid of:
Oddo - Yes
Kaladze - Hell Yes
Janku - Do we really want this, as he is currently our only alternative to Antonini??
Oneyewu - Can't hurt, he is free, we migh even sell him next summer if he makes some cameos
Zambrotta - I would like to see him gone, but we don't have that many fullbacks
Bonera - Can't stand him, played well yesterday, still can't stand him. Has his uses. Can't we trade him for Poli?

Honestly, I know a lot of u love Gattuso and all, but I really think he needs to take a step back for the greater good of Milan. He should be a bench player, the closer so to speak when Milan is up by a goal and he comes in and destroy the other team midfields....Bit not starter, as Flamini and Bpatengg/Ambro should start over him.
As for Slowdorf, he is another sub, that way even when he plays like crap-almost allmthe time, except for his period every month, the damage will be minimum.

It would be great to get rid of Borriello, and how stupid are Juve?
It's like what the commentator (a juventino) said yesterday, Juve are spending so much money buying good to very good players, none are excellent. I believe Juve's downfall is the appointment of Marotta and Del Neri, they are at best at a team that aims for the Champs League.
Martinez, Pepe, Quagliarella, Krasic are all good players and that's about it. They spent 14m + 8m + 8m + 15m = 45m on very average players and Borriello is just the same level as the same. These players would be good for Sampdoria not Juventus, I feel very sorry and bad for the Juventinos, I really wanted them to challenge at the top but that will not happen soon. I bet they won't qualify to the CL this year with that team unless they change their stupid and ridiculous 4-4-2 (they already sold Diego, but at least they have Aquilani).
Getting rid of Borriello IS NOT wrong. After all he is the one who yesterday said he is in his prime and has to consider his future. I say let him go, he never was going to win the Capocanniero or Golden Ball. And most of you are wrong when you say we have 2 CF's, we have Zlatan , Inzaghi, and one more player that could even be better than those 2: PATO. If Robinho comes he can play as a Trequartista in a natural 4-3-1-2, he can play as a second striker in that formation too, he can also play on either wing in a 4-3-3. He CAN NOT replace one of the midfield 3. So many different options with Robinho!
And why is it that everyone here is so sure Robinho can't accept the bench? He can and he will. He is NOT a trouble maker as people say, I have followed this kid since his Santos days and was one of his biggest fans always (buying him in every FM game :D). Real Madrid is a joke of club that are even turning against KAKA right now, so don't believe what they say about Robinho. With him here we will have a phenomenal attack and I just wish we renew Ronaldinho's contract for 1 or 2 more years.
Also, Robinho is DESPERATE to leave City, and theres less than 2 days for the mercato left. IMO, just like how he rushed his Real -> Man City move, he will do the same but this time he will accept much lower wages because he is moving to a better club that matches his ambition, and has the perfect environment for him. He is the one who should take a sacrifice to come here. Don't be surprised if he doesn't get very high wages and a very low transfer fee cause even City are desperate to sell their only valuable asset after a ridiculous spree of spending.
I also am VERY glad we are on Raiola's good side. I remember the first week of the mercato we had a meeting with him and everyone thought we talked about Ibra or Balotelli, but Galliani said we were talking about a very interesting young man: Rodrigo Ely (another promising Brazilian CB in our ranks). My only wish is we stay on Raiola's good side and he will always give us first option on his players, and I am hopeful that another one of my favourite players can join us in Milan in a few years: Super Mario.
Another thing, I say we should not criticize our management because it is obvious that they know what they are doing. If they decide to go for Robinho or ignore him, I will respect their decision. They aren't on the top of the world by coincidence.
However I do agree signing Honda has one million more advantages than disadvantages. He CAN be a good Seedorf replacement. The biggest advantage is off the field: marketing, something many of you seem to not realize. We still have that Non-EU spot open and if we get Robinho I think we are set for next year so we can use that spot for Honda just simply as an investment not a reinforcement.
- Borriello update: Marotta is in Via Turati now. However there is no agreement yet. I say we should accept him for a liquidation price, let's just get him out of here for any price to get our dream front-line.
- Maxwell is being linked - however I remember when Inter brought him to Italy they first sent him to another club like Chievo because he was Non-EU. How is that he now has a Dutch passport? Can someone confirm this?
- Coates seems close too, he has an Italian passport. Non-EU spot still open.
People can we stop disrespecting Seedorf. It is just getting boring now. Every single time someone calls him Slowdorf in the chat he either scores or makes a goal. His experience and composure are invaluable.
And if he is constantly picked by Carlo, Leo, Allegri, its because he works hard in training and competes for his position. Maybe we should criticise the so called fast and young players that can't knock him out of his spot.
'Slowdorf' has consistently been one of our better players and is one of the reasons people like Pirlo and Ronaldinio get the freedom and plaudits they do.
So....can we start showing a TRUE MILAN LEGEND a little more respect please?

Maxwell married Dutch, ahhahahaa
Don't get me wrong, I would love seeing Robinho playing for Milan, and I actually think, he will be just like Tvez at ManU, someone who will come off the bench and make impact. I remembered two yrs ago, whenever ManU is down, they will get Tevez to come in and played with four attacker- Rooney, CRonaldo, Berba and Tevez, great entertainment and They often score right away. Having said that, still wish Borreillo can stay, but do respect him about wanting first team football.

Oddo already got a nickname. That is Nodo, meaning he can't do it.
just a taught, if maxwell doesnt work out i think we should go for drenthe, i know he isnt the strongest defender, but he is very strong going forward, and he is a LB, would be a reaaly good, and young back up for antonini, and can also back up the LM or LW incase of injury or something. and he should be going cheap.
No-go is better.
Speedorf will show his worth this season!

I don' think so. I never saw his play like Juve and Lecce, only in his best age (under 30). Last year or two he played well in certain period because of his creativity or some acceleration AT going forward but in the two games I said he was fast (I mean he tried though, not like his laziness like I always know) and in many times chased the ball from opponent. This is not Seedorf I know for the last couple of years.

Well, I have not seen both games so I cant judge, but if his work rate is up and actually ran, then i demand a Drug test, hahahaha. Just kidding. Good to see, he is willing tonrun again. I think people dislike him mainly bc we all knew he can do it, but he just does not want to, pretty unprofessional if u ask me.
No-go is better.
Speedorf will show his worth this season!
I agree! Including Ronaldinho.
I am the one who often criticized Dinho cause he was lazy and ineffective (except in certain action during 1-2 minutes) and also Seedorf who was similar habit like Dinho. But these two men have opened my eyes that they are now different. Someone should count how many ran to chase the ball Seedorf made, how many tackles Dinho did and how many times Seedorf moves back to cover free space.
If in two weeks or more I opted to have Robinho than Dinho, now I am not that sure, even I have tendency that I agree that hitmann said, giving Dinho contract extension for 1 or 2 year. But of course if Dinho shows in most of games kind of spirit he showed in the games vs Juve and Lecce.
Seedorf is aged and has continuity problem, he cant always play like this, i wish he could o but we must calculate everything in order to not to have any problem in midfield.
Robinho? i'd take him, considering Pato's injury problems and his importance, we dont have a vice Pato or Dinho.
Borriello? i'd rather to sell him instead of loaning him with 2 m euros and 13 m option to buy. it could be better, 13 m euros is not enough, we paid 10 m euros for half of Borriello, he had a nice season last year.
We need to find an alternative for Seedorf, if we focus on midfield problems and wing backs next season or in january, we will be much better.
Maxwell could be nice addiiton, i hope he comes.
Best place for Bastian

That's it, that what I don't like even hate from him in the years. He was fortunate we have Ancelotti and Leo but now Allegri seems playing important role of how Seedorf and Ronaldinho play. Allegri seems not a dictator, I saw a video of a training time showing how he walked with and talked to Dinho with his arm on Dinho shoulder like both are good friends since ages! Sometimes emotional approach is more effective than hard or very strong disciplines.

I agree. Seedorf is over probably already 34 years old and we can't expect durability to play like against Lecce for 90 minutes. For this season we have Flamini and Boateng who seems more offensive than Flamini, to cover Seedorf. Next season we can find good player for Seedorf position since we should have more budget compared to this season in which we have limited budget.

Wow everything is going sooooo fast in these last 4-3 days of the market.
Ibra, Robinho, Hunter, Borriello, Kaladze, Coates, Cammaleri, Montelongo, Maxwell
So far, even if we end up with nothing new I am super happy with what we have. However I have a feeling Berlusconi is thinking 'I am back to show the world who is running this show'. I am preparing cautiously for the Il Grande Finale.
Shame I'm gonna be busy all day on the plane, bet it's gonna be so exciting.

No disrespect but it's not about being able to replace them, it's about being able to replace them and not decrease the level of the team.
Borriello can play where Pato or Ronaldinho play, he can, but it's not his position, and he won't be effective. We saw that with Huntelaar last year.
Merkel is a midfielder, I don't think he'll be able to play in one of our attacking positions. The guy could be a good/great CM, I hope Allegri won't try to push him more forward. About Abate, no, I can't repeat what I say each time I mention him ... :D well, it's about his brain, if you see what I mean ... :hammer:

GeoTav, 19 tall (1.98 m) strong defender with some skill. He will be after Yepes and Sokratis and possibly Bonera. He could be added to the Primavera, on youtube just type his name there is one decent video of him.
Darmian, Sokratis, Rodrigo Ely, (last yr primavera captain that went on loan, i forgot his name), Albertazzi, 2 new CBs bought this summer too, we have alot of CBs right now. Let's hope one turns out to be good enough, my bet would be on Ely because Raiola is his agent.

Agree... There are 2 players(one we were linked) in Brazil that have the skills to do Seedorf role imo. One is Arouca, that imo is a defensive version(little less skilled) of Seedorf, and Jucilei, that is playing a lot as LDM. Just to thrown some names...

Yes.. I'm not at all worried.. Inzaghi would then be Ibra's direct replacement. I don't know why everyone is all of a sudden crying over Borriello leaving. His stay reminded me of Gilardino's. a good backup nothing more. Unfortunately, I think Inzaghi at 37 is a BETTER super-sub than Borriello. He was so good last night. He'll always be fresh too as he won't be a starter. If Ibra were to go down, you have Pato who can CLEARLY play Striker. Robinho would then move to Pato's spot.
As for Borriello deal, I heard it's been agreed upon at €2M Loan. Option to buy at end of Year for €13 Million. Good deal. Sell Huntelaar now and next option should be a FB, or a midfielder such as Honda.
Lastly, there is no "DIRECT REPLACEMENT" for Seedorf. He's a one of a kind player. He's very old school tactically and technically, and Serie A is that kind of league, which is why KPB worried me. Hopefully he'll find it nicely. I still think Keisuke Honda is a great buy for about €12-13 M...
Lastly, Juventus... I just feel bad. I do not think they will do anything this year. Very poor management. I wish Inter, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Sampdoria are all good..so this year is a great year and we beat Great teams. I don't want to beat teams who are awful.

HAHAHA very true about Slowdorf...

Agree on this.
Disagree on Speedorf!!
On Boriello, I don't think anybody is crying. Rather, we are appreciating a player that worked hard for us and gave us the physical strength that Gila never did. Unlike Gila who scored his goals and did nothing else, Boriello scored his own goals, helped others score theirs, did the donkey work that Ronnie, Pato and Inzaghi don't want to, and headed away countless corners.
Thanks Borriello, you were/are great!
If we do get Robinho, then either him or dinho will have to be benched. If we play all for IbraPaRoRo then we will have a very unbalanced team. None of them track back or assist defensively.

Agreed.. Boriello did a great Job.. and he should be saluted as a Milanista. I wish him luck as Juventus although it will be very tough there. He should start with Quagliarella for sure..but with 20 Defensive Midfielders there there's no creativity...
For Seedorf, I also salute him. Obviously he's a Legend at Milan for years and helped us win Champions League. He's technically unbelieveable and we'll always remember him. However, I think he's finished/near finished. I think a player like HONDA although not as strong can be lively, creative, and a box to box midfielder. Schweinsteiger also but he'll never leave best club in Germany to go to Italy.
Also, as HITMAN says, Honda will have us reaping so many benefits as it will open HUGE doors to the Asian markets just like Park ji Sung has done for MANU...
Honda ain't gona track back.

He went to buve. Adding Robinho, Coates and Maxwell and getting rid of Kaladze would be awesome. I wouldn't mind keeping Huntelaar as never got a proper shot last year.
I can't really see Huntelaar getting a real chance in the first team this season either, unless we have a lot of injuries... Especially if Robinho also comes.

If we do get Robinho, I don't think it is fair to keep Borriello if he wants to leave. But why do we have to LOAN him? instead of getting some freakin $$$?
Still remember Oddo's stint with Bayern.
It makes sense to loan at this point. I'm pretty sure a loan deal can be agreed on more quickly than negotiating a full transfer, and at this point time is of the essence.
I'm not brasileiro ( :D ) but this seems to be heavily debated atm. Robinho will not come as a sub imo. We need rotation and Robinho should be used frequently, often used in place of Pato, Dinho and even Ibra.
Also we need a player who can be an alternative to Pato. Last season showed how much we rely on Pato and we need a quality player who can play his role (last season it was meant to be Mancini, but he failed). Preseason also highlighted our Pato-reliance as we struggled to score in every match he didn't play.
Finally, Robinho may well a signing for next year rather than this. This is a chance to get him for cheap thanks to Man City wanting to trim their squad and Ronaldinho's long term future is still in doubt. Having a player like Robinho ready to take over should he leave in January or next summer is very important.
Robinho is one step away from Milan. The Rossoneri emissaries and the new "ambassador" Mino Raiola, are in England to close the negotiations with Man City
It's odd having Raiola acting as our "ambassador" lol. As someone said (I think Geo), Moggi has said it's good to keep a good relationship with Raiola and it looks like that's what our management want to do. Makes me think of the famous quote "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".
Honda ain't gona track back.
Agreed, well at least he doesn't want tracking back to be a big part of his role. The guy wants to play fairly high up the pitch. I think it was at CSKA he was asked to play in midfield but didn't like it.

It's good to have this guy on our side ... But I'm scared of the day he will decide his players need another club, it could explode in our face.
Anyway, it seems he's one of the best to find talent, why not giving him a role in the club ? I'm sure he would be successful, and with all the links he has had (he finds the players worth coming in Milan, and you let him start the negotiations), it would be quiet easy to get new players.
About Huntelaar, he confirmed he accepted the offer of Schalke 04. He said he didn't want to leave but he needs to play, and with Ibrahimovic coming, it meant he would almost never play. So Huntelaar will have failed in Real Madrid and Milan. Sad for him. Good luck in Gelsenkirchen !!

one thing we can say Klass never was and thats impatient or a bad influence, all he did is try and work hard! Good luck Klass!
Agreed, Huntelaar was one I wished had more chances to prove himself on th pitch. Unfortunately, he didn't have the physicality to make it in Italy. Nonetheless, he is a true professional who never complained and gave his all for the shirt when he had the chance. I feel bad for him because he came to us at a time when we were in transition, and never got to see the best of times with us or experience the best of his teammates.
Good luck Hunter! Dispite the short years with us, you will always be respected and appreciated!

i didnt like Coutinho, good player yet i dont think he is the player who can step up so quick.
Benitez is ruining inter, Milito looks hopeless, Eto'o is inform, with Sneijder, they could do something, yet they are not enough, they lack organization, with high line defence, they gave many chances away, their team defence is weak, they dont come to help the defence unlike last season, Attacking four doesnt press in forward line or its not enough. Maicon is so important for them, i hope he leaves.
Branca said they wont make big signings, as they already made last year. Sneijder, Eto'o. i hope Benitez ruins inter more, such a splaying Sneijderr at right, Coutinho at left, Eto'o as DM :) in Benitez we trust.
Hope Maicon leaves, Zanetti cant make Maicon contribution at right. With Milito out of form, They really need a Balotelli for wing forward position where Benitez played Coutinho there. Mariga did solid job, They have Mariga, Motta, Stankovic for one spot, they still want Fabregas. its weird.
We today linked with Grosso-Kaladze swap again, its really hard, Juve wont pay 4 m euros a year to Kaladze, i hope we sign Maxwell or İnsua from Liverpool, though i read some news, he is loaned to Galatasaray, my local team. dont know if its real yet its said that he confirmed it on his twitter account.
As reported by Gianluca di Marzio of Sky Speciale Calciomercato: Robinho will arrive in Milan at 8:30 this morning. The talented Brazilian should have arrived last night at 23:30, but his flight was delayed probably waiting for Borriello-Juventus deal to be closed

10) Zlatan Ibrahimovic replaces Mario Balotelli as the most hated person in the whole of Italy. 'Ibrahimovic' enters the Italian dictionary, with its meaning: "mercenary with no loyalty."
9) Sampdoria are minutes away from reaching the Europa League final as they lead Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in their semi final second leg at Marassi. Domenico Di Carlo then decides it wise to use his third substitute on star man Antonio Cassano. Leverkusen force extra time with the last kick of the game and then win through in extra time as Cassano’s replacement Nicola Pozzi fails to trap a bag of cement.
8) Juventus have more Italians in their starting XI this season than Inter have had in the 15 years since Massimo Moratti took over. There are separate drinking fountains and canteens at both Vinovo and Appiano Gentile for Italians and non-Italians. Amauri and Moratti qualify for the latter.
7) Roma’s canteen runs out of food after Adriano gobbles up a year’s worth of supplies. The Brazilian’s weight rockets so high that Ronaldo visits a doctor fearing that he is anorexic.
6) Claudio Ranieri's Roma finish second in Serie A. They also lose the finals of the Coppa Italia, the Champions League and the Roma City Cup, additions to their gaffer's silver medals in the Capital Tiddlywinks Championship, the 50-metre breaststroke and the John Inman Lookalike competition.
5) Alexandre Pato embarks on a magnificent run, scoring 18 goals in 10 league games and adding 8 goals in 3 Champions League games. Sky Sports’ Phil Thompson says he’s “too small to make it” as a top-class player, Jamie Redknapp admits he's "never heard of Pato", while Martin Keown states that “Pato is unproven because he’s never played in the Premier League”.
4) Rafa Benitez outdoes Diego Maradona by using 103 Inter players during the course of the campaign. The only ones to start every single game are Dirk Kuyt and Lucas Leiva, signed from Liverpool on deadline day for a combined €40 million.
3) Maurizio Zamparini sacks Delio Rossi in September, reappoints Walter Zenga, sacks Zenga in October, reappoints Rossi, sacks Rossi in November, reappoints Francesco Guidolin, sacks Guidolin in December, reappoints Zenga, sacks Zenga in January, reappoints Rossi, sacks Rossi in February, reappoints Guidolin, sacks Guidolin in March, reappoints Zenga, sacks Zenga in April, reappoints Rossi and says he will “stay for a long time”, sacks Rossi in May, reappoints Guidolin.
2) After years of boasting of his management credentials, Silvio Berlusconi reacts to a nightmare start for Milan by sacking Massimiliano Allegri and taking the job on himself. Going with a 2-2-6 formation for the most part, his side pick up one win in the remaining 28 games as the Rossoneri are relegated for the first time in nearly 30 years. When slammed by the critics, Berlusconi replies: "Milan are the most successful team in history, no one has won more than me at a single club.”
1) Italian teams are robbed in Europe for the umpteenth year on the trot. Roma are eliminated by Bayern Munich after Miroslav Klose scores a winner despite being 20 yards offside, and Mark Van Bommel stays on the pitch despite breaking five Giallorossi legs. Inter are defeated by Manchester United after the referee executes ‘Until We Score Law’ and adds on 72 minutes of injury time during which The Red Devils score the two goals they require to progress. Meanwhile, Milan are ousted after UEFA create a new rule that bans teams with an average age of over 40 from participating.

Yes, Fox Sports World Canada are heavily biased towards Milan, they always always show Milan games even when there's Juve - Fio playing at the same time for example. They have an agreement I believe with TLN and Rai International for each of the three to show a different game. Rai Intl has extensive coverage showing every game, then Fox, then TLN only shows Sunday evening games...this year there will also be The Score.

By saying that, we could say Gattuso can replace Pato too ...
:hammer:
