View Full Version : Summer Mercato 2010
2009/2010, a frankly forgetable season, is over. The rebuilding should start now.

The rebuilding shouldve started 5/6 years ago!
Anyway, I dont think anything will happen, silvio and galliani are living in a fantasy world and still believe this is the best team there is!
I expect a very dissapointing mercato!

Inspite of the new sponsorship deal with the Emirates, it doesn't look at all we are going to see any different in the mercato this year. Looks like we are headed for another "non-mercato" for the summer. So far this is what we have:
Confirmed exits:
Dida
Favalli
Leonardo
Possible exits
Jankulovski (he said he was leaving)
Huntelaar (poor season, but they say he's staying)
Inzaghi (they say he's staying, but his contract expires this summer)
Boriello (he was staying for sure until Man Utd were linked, I hope he leaves)
Flavio Roma
Oguchi Onyewu
Gattuso/Flamini (one of them)
Ambrosini (when does his contract end?)
Oddo (recent reports say he wants to go back to Lazio)
Ronaldinho (thought he was staying until last game against Juve)
Confirmed for next season:
Abbiati
Nesta
Silva
Bonera
Zambrotta
Antonini
Abate
Yepes
Pirlo
Seedorf
Flamini/Gattuso (one of them)
Pato
*** Obviously we can see we have a problem with so many uncertainties and no coach yet. We must open our wallets or else we will have a similar fate as Juve has had this year.

5 in a row and possibly a treble for those merda, that alone makes me sick, but considering how neglected our team has been for the last 5 years I'm furious with our management who constantly throw our past in our faces like we don't know it. We are grateful for Berlu saving us, we are grateful for every final, every triumph and every world class player he's given us over the past few decades. We however do realise when the club is being ignored or misstreated, and no amount of 'We have the most titles in the World' quotes from baldy can hide the embarrassments we have had in recent years. Our reputation has gone from #1 to the gutter, particularly obvious when other club presidents around the world can come out and say Milan is broke and make fun of our purchases year after year there is something seriously wrong at the core.
The #1 transfer of summer for me has to be a new owner who has a serious project outlined for us. It's not about throwing money at the problem, it's about proper planning and continuous time and prudent money investment. Fininvest however are a joke of company, expecting a bunch of 30 yo train wrecks to win them titles year after a year and think they don't need to buy decent replacements. Like any business you have to invest to get results and make cuts when needed. Example: Real Madrid invested 80m in Ronaldo and got 100m+ back in shirt sales in one year!
We constantly pay 5m-15m for useless rejects who have no market value or potential and don't offer much to us long term. We also continue to renew huge contracts for players who are past their best, leaving them even more unmarketable to others if we wanted to sell them. Yes our league is not as marketable as La Liga or EPL, but I've seen our shirts all over the world so it's not as if we are not marketable.
Unless things change, I expect further humiliation next year after a non existent mercato, a mid table finish and watching everyone get their hopes up based on one transfer but then realise the rest of the squad needs replacing too.
Leo, you performed a miracle this year with what you were given, Grazie e buona fortuna.
I think Kaladze is a confirmed exit too.

let's hope so.

If I was in charge, and with our middle team budget in mind, I would come to Brazil tomorrow and purchased Arouca, Jucilei and Mario Fernandes(Italian passport). 3 players that will be on Brazil NT after the world cup, aren't expensive(little hype) and has all the qualities to become WC class player in Europe.
Also, they play(and good) more than one position, giving us amazing versatility. A thing we will need a lot this upcoming season, since you can't buy 10 players in a market for several reasons.
We can field a mid of:
----------------------------Arouca---------------------
----------Jucilei-------------Pirlo-----------Flamini------ and be creative, because Arouca and Jucilei are also great going forward.
Mario Fernandes can also play RB and CB(even LB if needed) without compromise the team.
A team of:
-----------------------------Abiate--------------------------------
-M. Fernandes(Abate)--Nesta(M. F)--T. Silva(M.F. and Yepes)--Antonini-
--------------------------Arouca(Pirlo, Flamini)----------------------
-------Jucilei(Abate/Arouca)-----Pirlo(Seedorf)-------Flamini(Ambro/Jucilei)
------------------------Borrielo-------Pato-------------------------
... Would make a great start for a team with little money to spend. Insert some 1 or 2 Primavera players(if the show the mentality), and some squad Italian players and we can make a real good season. Sure if Lippi is the coach, you can forget about my plan, as he will go for the vets...

Since we are linked to him(Jucilei), for the ones can watch, it's about to start Grêmio X Corinthians on TV.
Nice chance to watch Jucilei(Corinthians) and Mario Fernandes(Grêmio). Both are in the start lineup.
i watch the game and MArio fernadez have got injured...
corintias are betrer team they are good organized and have good midel. and Jucilei is veryy powerful player and very creativ for a this tipe of player...

i watch the game and MArio fernadez have got injured... Yep, the reporter of Globo TV(in Brazil) was just saying that Mario Fernandes was a doubt for this game, because of a shoulder injure(in doubt for a surgery), and the poor boy just injured the shoulder. Now theres no doubt he will need the surgery...
One more time very strong in one a ones, but fail in Corinthians goal when he didn't jump and let Ralph score. To be fair with the lad, Falcão(Brazlian legend and now a pundit) stated after the goal that Mario wounded shoulder, was a know problem for Grêmio's coach in aerial game. Because he wasn't able to jump and compete with the opposite player.

It's because Grêmio is playing with a mixed team, DUCO... They are saving players for the clash against Santos wednesday. Only 4 players are starters(less one with Mario now).
Back to Jucilei, I'm glad you take notice. From last season, what you stated(powerful) was a thing he was lacking imo. He was far from soft, but wasn't also playing with the powerful a big lad like him can do. Shame Corinthians coach loves a catenaccio, and are holding him and Ralph a lot. But you can see every time he goes forward something good happens.
Now, the bad news: Falcão said a guy from Fiorentina is at the Stadium, and said to him Jucilei, Mario Fernandes and Vitor(Grêmio GK) are the ones he came to see live. I can accept we didn go for Neymar, Ganso and Giuliano because of our budget, but I hope we don sleep on Jucilei and Mario...

Yep(1990), and he's also very strong for his age. Very composed, calm, rarely booked. Like you said, he plays like a veteran. And plays with a attitude... play strong without to be violent. Plus, if the press is right, with a Italian passport.
Some Brazilian young CB's are good, but will clearly need to change their style in Europe. to play tough doesn't mean to be violent, and Mario show this in every game that I saw. Most important, the guy is hard to beat in one a ones... very hard.
On I side note: The injure that took him off of the games appears to be less serious than people thought. I hope he's able to play Against Santos Wednesday night, because different of last game, besides Robinho, Ganso, André, Léo it will be also Neymar testing him.

At the start of Brasileirão, several teams are playing with mixed lineups because Copa do Brazil and Libertadores are in knockout stage. São Paulo, Internacional, Cruzeiro in Libertadores, Grêmio, Santos, Vitória in Copa do Brazil.
Like I said in another topic, there's no such a style of play here. Today Corinthians put a 4-3-3 catenaccio(his coach love it). São Paulo also play defensive, the new Inter also. Grêmio is very physical, but play for the win, and the list goes on...

Just a thought, it is funny how a lot of teams nowadays are looking at Brazil for defenders or DM/CM instead of forwards and attk mids.
I am not dissing Brazil defenders by any means, just interesting to see that happening.
Cigarini, Lanzafame, Santon, Aquilani, Rossi will be made available in the market this summer.....I would not mind signing one or two these youngsters...

Yes to Santon and Rossi, no to others.
Cigarini is talented but I think his style is not suited for the modern game unless he is playing on a team with TRUE WINGERS.
Aquilani is a very over-rated player. I think the fact that he is young and on occasion showed glimpse of brilliance is giving out false hope that he can become a WC player.
Have not seen enough of Lanzafame to comment.

Yep... I got your point.
Funny you talk about it, because yesterday I saw Lippi on TV(in a interview to a Brazilian channel), and when was asked about his thoughts on Brazil NT, the first thing he praised was Brazil's defense. Saying that with that defense, they are his favorites. A Italian coach praising a Brazilian NT defense first is surreal...
DM we always produced, and some amazing ones. But imo Dunga risk to much in not call and develop at least a young DM(#5) for the W. Cup. He had time to develop Sandro(after call him), but chose to not give strong minutes to the lad, and now is stuck with G. Silva and Josué. Huge bet as the one with the LB's that don play the position like Michel Bastos and Gilberto.
Thats(and a Kaká or L. Fabiano injure) is where lies our problems(early elimination)...

for me, cigarini and aquilani would solve much of the creativity problem. both aren't as highly rated as a few seasons ago but no-one can doubt the talent.

I am not a fan of Cigarini (not good enough) nor Aquilani (inconsistencies with form & fitness). I really doubt that Inter would want to sell Santon, almost impossible as they are in dire need of Italians and they have currently have 2 gems that are not 21 yet (Balotelli and Santon). They will do everything in their power to keep these two. I saw a report yesterday after the final whistle of Balo saying I am not sure I am going to say in Inter.
Another player that will not be expensive and can be very interesting to us is Fabio Santacroce. There will also be a handful of departures from Palermo who did not make it to the CL. I think Kjaer will leave, Bresciano & Simplicio have already left, Cavani wants to leave, Pastore, Miccoli and Hernandez should be staying but I'm not sure about it.
Udinese also have Di Natale with 29 goals, personally I wouldn't take hm as he's a tad bit too old but an interesting player from them would be Inler and Alex Sanchez. Lazio have Kolarov and Zarate [amazing player with a terrible season last year, we should sign him for 25m and forget Dzeko, this kid has more.
From Brazil there are quite a few talents that Brasiliero mentions regularly. The ones I like the most is Jucilei and Robinho. Also keep in mind City failed to make it to the CL and will be doing alot of offloading this summer, it might be wise to keep an eye on Robinho and Micah Richards. Tottenham have an interesting player in Bale but given that they made it to the CL and he's had a great last 2 months in the season, it would be safe to assume that he is out of Milan's reach.
Real Madrid will be adding some more Galacticos have another failure of a season so expect a few departures at the very least. We should keep our eyes on Lass Diarra (one of the best players in the world), Drenthe, Ramos, Higuain, and Van der Vaart.

Aquilani and G.Rossi are both available this summer... wouldnt it be nice to see them in red n black next season :)
EDIT: true hitmann, also Santacroce would be a great buy!!! Aquilani, G.Rossi and Santacroce, all are REALLY talented, they havent totally lived up to expectations so far, but If we could get the best out of them we would have 3 brilliant italian players.

Traditionally there's a stigma surrounding Brazilian defenders (and to a much lesser extent DMs) because of the nations naturally attacking football. This has lead to stereotypes about Brazilian defenders. However, the reality is there have generally always been quality Brazilian defenders, with many succeeding in Europe. From around the 80s (mainly the late 80s), which is when Brazilians started coming to Europe frequently, we've seen Aldair, Marcio Santos, Mauro Silva and Dunga all play much of the career out in Europe. Many played in Italy, which during those times was overloaded with quality defenders and midfielders, which shows irrespective of stereotypes, quality Brazilian players have always been sought after.
now if only there was a way we could communicate our suggestions to the big wigs at the club, does anyone have any ideas?

Dev, I am not saying that Defensive Brazil players just began popping up over the past years. I am saying that when people think of Brazil players, they are no longer thinking about just attackers but their defenders too.
When you think about it, Brazil pretty much produced a top five players in each position over the last ten years, not to mention always having one to two top five players in the world.
GK: Marcos, Dida and Caesar
RB: Cafu, Maicon, D. Alves
CB: Lucio, Alex(be was a beast in PSV), Juan
LB: R. Carlos, Serginho, and thats about it but not like there are any top LB these past 2 years.
DM/CM: Emerson(b4 Milan days), Gilberto Silva(back then), Ze Roberto
ATTK mid: Rivaldo, Kaka, Dinho, Diego,
Stk: Ronaldo, Adraino, Pato, Fabiano, Robino, Denilson.
Only three years from 1999-2009, where there is no Brazilian in the top three of the World Player Award, and Brazilians had won 5 times in that span. Just amazing how Brazil can keep continue to produce great footballers, where every other country works in cycles.

Dinho again has created doubt over his future by admitting he has no idea what the club plans. I'd be happy to sell him, but would want a player like Krasic to replace him.
For me, Krasic, Mario Fernandes and Jucilei and some good squad players would be just enough to make us highly competitive next season. I still think we'd need a new striker to replace Borriello, but it's highly optimistic that we'll get anyone.

At this point drenthe is strongest and depending on new coaches tactic's he can be VERY useful in midfield (I Think he's like vargas in thesense... **** at FB, BUT in midfield he can work well for team). He also follows milan's favorite policy... score v. milan, get signed

No problem, my friend;)
Wednesday(21:40 of Brazil) second-leg of the semis of Copa do Brazil(Santos X Grêmio). First game was 4 x 3 for Gêrmio and now Santos just need a 1 X 0 to go through. But since this Santos team doesn't know how to play for just one goal(they always go for 10), you can expected a thriller. Shame Arouca is out(3rd yellow card) and possible Mario Fernandes too, with a shoulder injure. At the same time will be playing, but this time for Libertadores, São Paulo X Cruzeiro. First game S. Paulo won way(2 X 0) so, you can expect a very conservative team even with São Paulo playing in their own home.
There's no doubt I will be watching Santos X Grêmio. Even more after the outcome of the first leg... Even the "bad" game of Santos are fun to watch.
You know, when I saw him he reminded me a little of Maldini at that age. I'm not saying he'll be as good, but his physique and playing style seems quite similar from the little I've seen. Tactically, he might need a bit more discipline, but for his age he's far beyond what I would have expected. I understood... Rafael Toloi also play at a high level, but he doesn't appear a European player. I don't know how to explain it, but Mario has a Italian style... or maybe is my subconscious knowing he has Italian passport:)
Quite frankly, I'm certain him and Jucilei should be the two players we get from Brazil this summer and they must be of high priority for our list of targets. Unbelievable there's so little interest surrounding them.
Yep, as you said, there's little interest surrounding them, and to be honest, today Jucilei is more valued by Europeans than Brazilians. The press(and majority of the fans) here only get caught if a player is scoring. Even the more defensive players. When I started to hype Jucilei in MM last year, I did the same to my friends here, but no one agree with me. For them, the good one was Elias, that was scoring a lot. Despite the fact I think Elias is a very good box-to-box mid, Jucilei will be 3 times better and turn into a star the day he start to play in Europe, because he will be asked to defend and attack all game long.
Yesterday against Grêmio he was clearly "hold" by his coach, almost didn't go forward. But every time he take a risk, good things happened, like in the second goal of Corinthians that he set up with a run and a through ball. Plus, as DUCO said here, he's becoming more and more physical and powerful, without to be violent and get booked.
It worries me even Fiorentina(Napoli and Lazio) are sending people here to watch him and Mario Fernandes as Falcão(The King of Rome) said yesterday. I hope we don't miss on these guys... At least, not for middle clubs :depress:
Brasiliero, could you also please give the right GMT for each country to know when the game will be played ? :D
Just kidding ...
Anyway, it's also a part of our mercato, what's going on with our players:
Galliani, who announced that Pato would stay next year for sure (what Pato confirmed several times), announced today that Ronaldinho would also stay ...
Storari said today he would meet Galliani to know what to do in the future. His main will is to play, so that means he wants the #1 spot of GK where he'll be. I wouldn't mind giving him, especially after this year (excellent in Milan before his injury, and then amazing performances in Sampdoria, without him, Samp wouldn't be 4th).
Jankulovski probably sold this summer in Russia: http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan/?action=read&idnotizia=24945
Brasileiro, 1st thanks for the gr8 informative posts... everybody knows there is talent in Brazil year in year out and they could be bought for "reasonable" prices...like Leo used to do...I'm sure we will miss him.

So after making it into CL, Samp will be losing their No.1 Keeper and their coach even before the transfer season even begin. Great way to start CL. If they don't reinforce, that would only make Serie A into a second tier league.
I know some of you are hoping a fire sale at Viola and Palermo, but I really wish that does not happen. As I hope they keep their teams together and build on them as thats the right way for a club to be more competitive and challenge for titles. I mean as much as Valencia struggles and loses money, they actually managed to keep Silva, Villa and others for two more seasons and maybe more.
I know some of you are hoping a fire sale at Viola and Palermo
I am not hoping. Any good players they have are at most 10% likely to come to us. If anything they will be sold to Juve or Inter which is of course worse.

You know what, can't deny I was hoping for a Ronaldinho departure. The guy was one of the best I ever saw in my life(and I watched Maradona era in Napoli), but today he unbalance any team. Today he's a situational player, not mobility enough for a second striker, nor work rate enough for a winger like he likes to play. Brazil NT become a real team after get free of Ronaldinho(even with less talented players), and I was hopping the same of Milan. Also, thats appears to be a signal we will not go after a #10:(

The players that I want from Brazil(personal opinion), until today, will not cost that much because they are out of WC hype and are from "non sexy" position(no pun, no nothing), and from Clubs don't ask for much. Keep in mind it's all guessing:
- Jucilei(8 Millions Euros):Could have be less a few months ago. But now, with teams like Fiorentina joining the race, the price raised.
- Arouca(3 millions Euros): Until August-31, this is the price São Paulo tag for Santos buy the the player. I don't know if it is a clause only for Santos, but the team(Santos) is without money, and are trying desperate to raise the 3 million for the buy. São Paulo normally ask for much more, but Arouca would not want to come back there. I think with 5 million to São Paulo we could make a deal. Problem? Without Leonardo, I really don't know who will be the guy to talk with São Paulo Board. Let's not forget Berlusconi is hated in S. Paulo MGT for the banana's comment.
-Mario Fernandes(5 to 8 millions Euros): This goes to depend of his Italian passport. They sell Douglas Costa for less than 10m and he was much more hyped. So I tend to believe Mario can be bought for less.
I would love to go for a Giuliano, David Luiz, Ganso or Neymar, but they are out of our reality. With a little less than 20 millions, you've got 3 players that will be on Brazil NT in the near future. I know thats not a sure thing, after all, Kleberson is going to WC:) But what I mean is that they are REAL Brazil NT material, but also will have no problem to play the European game. High character(workers), strong, skilled, modern and versatile. Three player that can play 3 or 4 position each one. I have no doubt about these guys...
So after making it into CL, Samp will be losing their No.1 Keeper and their coach even before the transfer season even begin. Great way to start CL. If they don't reinforce, that would only make Serie A into a second tier league.
they have Vincenzo Fiorillo, he is supposedly the next Buffon.

Reading your post I start to think about one thing. Why is so hard(money wise) for big clubs in Italy to buy young talents of small and middle clubs internally? Or it just happens with Milan?
Every prospect(proven or not) price in Italy is severally overrated. Even in Spain where Real and Barça pay outrageous money, they still can get reasonable prices for good young players(prospects). Keep in mind I'm not talking bout Vila's, Silva's, Daniel Alves type of purchases.
Just the young player with a good potential...

It's probably more because of Milan and what happened in the past ...
Don't forget that players from Inter won't come to Milan now, because we have become again their rivals (for a big part of the season), and because I don't think they want to do the same mistake as with Pirlo or Seedorf.
A club like Palermo just refuse any deal with Milan.
We have a great relationship with Roma (and if I'm not wrong, Lazio), which instead of making the deals easier, makes us trying to get no player from their team and vice-versa (more with Roma than with Lazio in our recent history) ...
I don't think a club like Sampdoria is friend with Milan.
Genoa is very linked to Inter nowadays.
I don't talk about Juventus as there is no player I'd want in our team nowadays.
You see, we are in a situation allowing us to deal with clubs like Parma or Cagliari only ... but it's because of our behaviour on the market.

So, by what you told me, the situation is even worse than I thought. These "closed doors" to us really hurts. Now(less money), more than ever we will need to do better at youth teams.
I know Milan bought several promising prospects to youth teams some time ago, but from my experience seeing development of players in Brazil, I will hold my breath on these kids. Thats a tough science, and the odds are that just one or two make it to first team, and this is considerate a great result.
Also, the future coach will need to "embrace the cause", because without his confidence, even the good ones will fail...

Actually, if one or two primavera players are included in the first team each season (and are at the right level), it would be amazing.
If only we could include one defender (I don't know who, De Vito is the one who had his chance, Albertazzi is the hyped one, seriously, I don't know who could deserve and could possibly do well in the first team) and one midfielder (Verdi for example) during this summer, that would already be a great job.
I don't know why all clubs are able to insert some Primavera players and give them some minutes here and there and why we are unable to do it ? Especially when we bought some of the best young Italian prospects last summer ...
Colombo (GK from ... umh), Pulzetti from Livorno and Manfredini from Atalanta will join our team for the US tour.
TMW claims that if Pulzetti (25yo midfielder) does well, he could be taken by Milan ...

Other teams have better or even a lot better youth teams than us. For some years we were so bad at youth development, only Allievi Nazionali (U16) succeeded a couple of years ago (with Paloschi is the product) and Beretti last year but with some Primavera players played in the final.
Like you said, we only started to give more focus to the youth team since last year summer by buying some Italian talents but many of them are still so young even they couldn't get chances in the Primavera.

Ever since that, I rate Gouch higher now. Wish all players can do the same.
Anyhow about Milan's relation with others.
From my stand point, I think Berlu and Galli basically screwed everything up with other teams by either insulting them about players offered to them, ie Toni, or always glow about how this player becomes a superstar in Milan....ie: Pirlo. On top of that, they always tried to low ball the other team, although I think thats fair play. I think it is the glowing and mocking the other team that's hurted the most. Lets say you are the GM of Atalanta and you got say an Italian Pato playing for you. As he is already doing okay and you and everybody else know sooner or later he will be the next big thing for Italy....Milan came and said they want him for 15mil or so. Once the transfer went through and that IT Pato become a WC player, both Berlu and Galli will be screaming at people that they were the ones who knows talent......they can always get the best players......How would you feel then? Where as, guys like Morratti, or even Moggi will never make such claims, or at the very least not to the extend of B & G.

Wow, respect to Onyewu !!
As he didn't play one single game this season because of his injury, he asked the club to renew his contract until 2013 (instead of 2012). During that extra-year, he will not be paid.
It looks like it was his idea and the club accepted.
Again, respect to him.
Yeah, I really respect actions like that. Credit to him, a class act which reminds me of Redondo.
Geo Tav, interesting post... But interesting as well that Pulzetti was named in the worst Serie A team of the season in acordance to Castrol rankings... this may not mean much to some. Colombo sounds like another Flavio Roma to me... But Manfredini looks good
IMO, if Storari returns and DiDA leaves it should be ok, but here is some names to consider:

i hope people agree with me that the quoted market prices are underpriced by Goal.com
Without having seen much of Onyewu (just the Confederations Cup), what I know from now, and it's a quality, is that the guy is smart ...
By doing such a thing, he probably knew he would be rated a lot more higher by fans and the club (suddenly, we don't care anymore about his level, like if he had a great season and showed to all of us that he was as good as Nesta or T.Silva on the pitch :D), and this way, he just allows himself to stay in a "big" club (some could claim we're not big anymore, I will reply it's just a matter of time, maybe even after this summer if the right moves are done) one more year.
After reading the article, I even thought it would be good to have Onyewu as vice-T.Silva or vice-Nesta without any particular reason !! :mute:

For Pulzetti, I don't know him so I can't say anything more than what I read: midfielder from Livorno who was born in 1984 ... :D
We'll see in the friendly games.
Actually, these players are brought in the USA with the team because the players who are called for the WC can't come to the USA for the tour, nor can the Primavera players as they still have games to play. So these 3 players join our team just to allow us to have a "complete" team (Storari has a surgery at the nose or eyes, don't remember, during the tour, so it's why Colombo was called).

Inter will earn €100m from the treble
Tuesday 18 May, 2010
If Inter win the treble this season, it's estimated that they will earn €100m in prize money and gate receipts.
The Nerazzurri have already won the Coppa Italia and wrapped up the Scudetto.
They are now preparing for the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich, which will be held in Madrid on Saturday.
Il Corriere dello Sport understands that as a national champion Inter earned €200,000 then €7.1m for the group phases, and €2.8m for the results that they got in the first phase of the competition.
The Nerazzurri then cashed €3m for qualifying for the last 16, another €3.3m for the quarter-finals and €4.2m for the semi-finals.
In reaching the Final, Massimo Moratti's side earned another windfall of €5.5m, and if they win the trophy, UEFA will award Inter €9m in prize money.
That amounts to €35.1m, but if you factor in TV money, gate receipts, their season in Serie A and the Coppa Italia together with the prospect of playing in the European Super Cup and Club World Cup, Inter could earn up to €100m.
It could really be the summer of all changes for us ... the decisive one that will say if we're going to be back at the top or not !!
Players are going to leave, like it was already said on this topic.
We don't have a coach right now.
And there's now even some trouble about the owner:
- a 350M bid from Squinzi, the boss of the bike team Mapei, would be to be done ; http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan/?action=read&idnotizia=25007
- Berlusconi admitting that selling Milan would be bad for his image, and that it's difficult to find someone rich enough nowadays to buy the club because of the crisis (but more important is the "I don't know what do to" part which sounds really bad to me, especially in such an important summer) ; http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan/?action=read&idnotizia=25023

just like Filipez said, his image is on its way down.. even his own Milan fans have turned against him in recent years. Ahh how things would change if we had a different president with alot of cash willing to spend..that alone could be like winning the Champs League for me. Having someone like a new Roman Abramovic for Milan, willing to go crazy in his first year, bringing Brazilian talents here and there, getting rid of the Pirlos and Seedorfs of our team...ahh well one can only dream.
Talking about dreams....I had a dream last night that we sold Huntelaar for 12m Euro as our first official sale... I couldn't tell who bought him but just that he was the first person out.
Can anyone give us the status of these coaches and how likely can we get them?
- Hiddink
- Capello (can we get him for a third spell? maybe only if Berlu leaves)
- Rijkaard
- Spaletti
im pretty sure Spaletti has a HUGE contract in russia. not sure about the rest..

-Hiddink might be available, part-time, but I can't see us going for him.
-Capello as you said, no way in hell, unless berlu is gone. If Leo can't even work under our management, don't even think about Don Fabio.
-Most likely out of your list, though being linked to Inter lately. :groan:
-Spaletti, yes, but can we match Zenit's wages?
I'd say its going to be Tassotti. Cheap, experience, he matches our "family policy" well, ..

Right now the favourite for the coaching role is Allegri according to the Italian media. Galliani has hinted at Galli taking the role, but let's not rule out Allegri who Galliani specifically pointed out as someone who played with Milan for a very brief spell (it was only some friendlies or something), so I think it's probably between those two.
Without having seen much of Onyewu (just the Confederations Cup), what I know from now, and it's a quality, is that the guy is smart ...

The way I see it, Onyewu is doing a very nice gesture, despite not being a quality player. However, to have him for free for a year cannot be complained about, as it means at least having an extra player in the squad.
However, I see him as nothing more than what Kaladze was for most of this season. Basically a player in the squad who is the final point of call in defence.
It could really be the summer of all changes for us ... the decisive one that will say if we're going to be back at the top or not !!
I don't think this summer is going to dictate whether we remain a top club or not. Rather, it will signal how competitive we'll be in the short term (say around 5 years), but what I think will be important for our long term future is how much we can really get from the youth development, as we will rely on it unless we get a major cash injection from a new owner or something.
That said, a part of me doesn't want a new owner that will just pump in money as it is against what I believe ethically.
I read that it's possible that Adiyiah will leave, if at all true it only means we can not rely on the current structure to promote youth, after the two Ecuadorians, etc.
The high wage problem is being sorted naturally with the contracts expiring one by one, let's see if this team can do better than finding Bosman players who are 'happy to join'.

WOW Adiyiah going what a shocker , Cardaccio Viudez , beside De Vito Albertrazzi maybe Verdi none of the rest are going to be good-great .What ive seen of Zigoni only 3 games as a sub but he did get 10 - 20 mins in each he looks slow and awkward very slow I know nerves play a part but they dont make you slow which he is.
Im writing off this summer not expecting anything or anyone.Dida and Favlli are gone everyone else is still here and i fully expect them to be next season Onyewu back for Favalli , Storari for Dida im being logical I cant see too much happening , I just hope that we can make the CL next year and if no changes happen next summer then we will be gone as a club.
Its only may mercato has not yet opened but lets be honest , its not likely anything will happen this summer , Tassotti to take over im 100% sure of that if he has a year like Leo CL qualification and not a disaster then Galli will take charge the next year...lol
Im hoping that sume sort of rebuilding will take place next year but im expecting nothing this summer expect Gooch Yepes and Storari same team as this year with Flamini playing moore for rino , thats my 10 cents.

I don't disagree but the end result of your sentence I emphasized is the same, and it is where we stand right now.

With some paycut and only a year long, this is still a good one :nana:
However
After Kaka had gone, there were not any overpaid contract, Hunter deserved that and Rino at that point worth the renew with paycut. So I think it is hard to get Gallas (request more wage at Arsenal), Henry knows Barca still need him and more trophies won't do any harm, he is another Hendrik Larson. For Trezeguet, I think even Galliani prefers renew Pippo contract :D
Somehow, I really like your idea, it is fun to guess. This mercarto is very unpredictable.

Don't mix the sentences !! :D
He said firstly that if there is a player able to bring more quality to the team, he won't quit the market, he will try to get him (well, not entirely said like that, but that's the meaning).
About Cristiano Ronaldo, he just said that if he was transfer listed, he could do something crazy to get him ... Does that mean that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a Milan player in 4-5 years ? Maybe, who knows, but right now, that's not realistic and it was just a way to say he has a new "dream player".

the quotes by berlu today didn't really do much to indicate how milan will spend (if at all this summer). berlu said the squad will pretty much remain the same and 4-5 players from the youth team will be promoted. he said if there is a player out there who could make a difference he would buy him but at what price? will they be willing to buy dzeko at 30m or krasiac at 15m? i doubt it. i have a feeling this summer's market will be as bad as the last.

Yesterday he said we are ungrateful now we a spoilt. Wel fuk you Galliani , Milan were a sleeping giant Berlu took over spent money and we started winning , this is the reason that Milan have so many fans , do Madrid say there fans were spoilt when they dont win NO NO NO , they try and make the team more competitive.
We were successful not spoilt , he goes on as if we want 200 mil spent when the truth is all we want is better management smart signing like 3 or 4 players for 8 - 12 million.
He really is a class A A$$HOLE.
So is he implying that Milan were succesful and be happy with that well I tend not to live in the past , if he is trying to get the point of be patient then say it don't attack the fans , because without any fans there would not be any Milan d1ckwad.
You know what? Galliani is right. We are so spoiled and so ungrateful to what he and Berlusconi has done. But instead of this whole shouting match Galliani and Berlusconi are having with the fans, I have a much much better solution to the problem. And the solution is just one word "LEAVE"! You guys don't have to deal with a bunch of spoiled brats like us! You have your money, your career, family and everything else! You don't HAVE to be running Milan! Just sell the club, get the hell out and forever leave us ungrateful morons! If you don't got the balls to do that (and I am looking at your, Berlusconi), then my advice to you is to STFU!
the quotes by berlu today didn't really do much to indicate how milan will spend (if at all this summer). berlu said the squad will pretty much remain the same and 4-5 players from the youth team will be promoted. he said if there is a player out there who could make a difference he would buy him but at what price? will they be willing to buy dzeko at 30m or krasiac at 15m? i doubt it. i have a feeling this summer's market will be as bad as the last.
p.s. - once again the financial crisis was blamed
Yes but for the first time since the crisis has started, he also said that if he was to spend some money for a player adding quality to the team, Italian people would understand ...
Seriously, in all these quotes, there is at the same time nothing interesting but also some small reasons to keep some hope ...

he said that but there seem to be some players of that quality (david villa, maybe torres if he decides to leave liverpool, lloris, even dzeko) on the market but do you think berlu would actually spend the money to get these guys?
or how about just getting Criscito, Bonucci, Krasiac and Hernanes for a total of 40-50m and making the team vastly better while promoting youth and getting rid of the old guard.
i hope they spend but i dont see it happening.

Mate, I know Berlusconi well, we have his real son at the head of France (Sarkozy said many times that his idol was Berlusconi) ... :D
What I say is that for once, something is said that can give some hope, even if it's again some fun with medias and to earn some points of popularity ...
Let's not forget we started last year summer with the sale of Kaka' in few days. This year is already better as none of our best players is sold after 3 days ... :D

With some smart moves this year we can rebuild the team:
-----------------Abbiati------------------
-Casseti------Nesta---T.S-------Antonini
------Hernanes-- Flamini--Simplicio------
-------------Krasic------Pato-----------
-------------------Dzeko----------------
Bench:
Storari
Bonera
Albetrazi
Yepes
Zambrota
Abate
Pirlo
Seedorf
Straser
Ambro
Verdi
Pipo
Borriello
Players out:
Huntelar - 13 mil
Dinho -22 mil
---------------------
Total Revenues 35 mil.
Players in:
Dzeko - 30 mil
Hernanes - 18 mil
Krasic - 18 mil
Simplicio - 0
Casseti - 0
---------------------
Total investment 64 mil
Difference paid 29 mil
With only 29 mil investmnt we can have all our Midfield and Attack under 26 years old. This line up has it all: youth, experience, flair, technique, tactical awarness, can transform easily from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2, and most important we have a bench which can make difference in a game.
If Berlu decides to splash an extra 20 mil than, we can have Jucilei and Aogo. and we are set for the future.
The only department needing help will be defense, which we can rebuild during the winter mercato and next summer.

I can`t believe that with only 50 mil we can rebuild in a year, still be very competitive and our mgm can`t see that.

Edit: I bet with this team It wont be hard to lure Gus Hiddink.

i would like to get a new GK and would prefer Criscito over Cassetti, even though it would cost more, but i agree with you. if they manage the team with some intelligence they can build a very strong squad without spending too much.

Well, I don't know the situation for Cassetti, but I never thought about this player as a potential starter in our team ... Same for Simplicio, I know several posters here rate him quite highly, I don't know him enough to do the same thing, so I'd like to know if he's really that good ?
About Hernanes (25M) and Dzeko (35-40M), regarding the interested teams and what announced their clubs/agents, I think you can add some millions to their price.
Well, if you want to be able to keep playing 4-3-3, just pick one between Simplicio and Hernanes (so if Simplicio is really good, he would be the smart choice as he seems to be free) and buy Krasic, and keep Ronaldinho ... This way, you have one more player in each area of the team (Pato for ST, Krasic for RW, Simplicio for CM). But it's only if you want to still play with the formation we used this year ...
And again, here is the problem of having no coach: we have no project on the pitch and so no indication of the needed players. Until a coach is chosen, we won't buy anyone ...

I wan`t Dinho out..not only because I know that he can`t replicate this season, but also because we need players who move. I know Pato is not and will never trace back...but we can allow ourselfs that luxury, but not 3 forwards not tracing back at all....in modern football thats suicide.
U have to look which teams play in CL final this year and u`ll understand my point.
I know this sounds crazy, bt massive changes aren't really neccesary. 3-4 new faces, preferably young, should do the trick. A new LB, who can slot in at CB when needed. One AM, one CM/DM, and a versatile attacker should be enough cos frankly the team isn't as bad as we like to think. Also easing in 2-3 Primavera players into the squad as replacement for the old guard wouldn't be such a bad idea. Bt as Geo pointed, it all depends on the coach that comes in.

even if this won't happen anytime soon, it would be interesting. Silvio tonight (after the meeting with Gayliani :D ) said Milan won't spend much thi summer either, but he could make one big purchase for a player that would give us 'a leap in quality', someone as Cristiano Ronaldo.
If this is true (and I want to believe it is), I think if he can bring us Dzeko, we could sell Huntelaar and buy Krasic for the same amount of money. That can be two major purchases for the future. That would be very nice, and besides that getting Aogo/Taiwo would be fantastic mercato considering what they have done during last few summers.
The other solution would be getting Krasic and Aogo, leaving Huntelaar. Instead getting some young Brazilians like Jucilei and Mario Fernandez that were mentioned before by Brasileiro.
Taye Taiwo!!! He's not rated that highly anymore even in Nigeria!

Don't get me wrong, I've said I want Dinho to be sold if it's possible (to play again in the good old 4-3-1-2) since a while now, but what I said is that if you plan to play in 4-3-3 again, selling Ronaldinho is weird ...
Yes he can't run for 90 minutes, yes he doesn't move enough, but in this formation, he can do some good things. You plan to use Pato there to replace Ronnie ? I don't understand your point: you'll ask Pato to learn again another position for the second year in a row.
It's why everything has to be clear from the start: what kind of tactics do we want, and then, depending on the tactics, who are the players who are still needed and who can't be used in this project ?
If you say 4-3-3, despite all the negative effects on the team of using Ronaldinho, it would be better to keep him (because he can still deliver several good performances and selling him would mean buying someone else to replace him, pointless).
If you say 4-3-1-2, Ronaldinho isn't needed anymore, he can be sold and we'll need to buy a classical AM/Trequartista.
Can't wait to know who will be our next coach wand what he plans ...
EDIT: No way for Taiwo shegs !! Antonini is a better LB overall, and Ronaldinho is a better left winger ... and if we use 4-3-1-2 tactics, there will be no place for him !! So no need to buy a player for the bench !! :D

No my friend, don`t get me wrong...i put the players there loosely, I was not implying tactics ore schemes.
To me is important that we play like a team. When u have players who run a lot tactics tend to matter less.
I hope its someone that employs the 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 most times and uses 4-3-3 only when absolutely neccessary (and please no wingers, only supporting strikers). i know it won't be easy, but Dinho should be converted to the trequartista role, as it would give us more balance.

Some concerns about the line-up above:
1. Hernanes, Krasic, Dzeko are all non-EU right? Or one of them has EU-pass?
2. Like has been said, who is Casetti? We already have decent fullback, Antonini. We can't add another average fullback. Antonini is good but he is not great fullback. He does rely his ability on his spirit and motivation without sufficient skills for fullback.
3. How could be Simplicio plays over Pirlo? If he is that good and free, he should be already signed by a big club.
The line-up of fullback and midfield are decent, only Hernanes the creative player. But combined with Flamini make the midfield tend to be defensive, that's why I like the left side midfield played by Pirlo or by other offensive/creative player (with Pirlo play as playmaker behind two strikers). I also prefer 4-3-1-2 than 4-3-3 since the 4-3-1-2 is more balanced especially with the team we have and/or will have (from fullbacks, midfielders and forwards) and we can use Pato as (second) striker and not wing forward.

It's better for Milan if they sell him since his price should be still high, Milan need to change so much only because of him and there are better players for wing forward with Ronaldinho's price who still can run (either only for attacking duty like Pato's style or both defensive and offensive duties).

Ok for the first part, sorry for the mistake ...
For the second part, I disagree with the end. Your players, when running, need to be organized, because if they "only" run, even a team with average players but well organized will beat them.
So I'd tend to say that tactics are maybe more important than the number of kilometers the players run (with good tactics, I'd even say that players can run a bit less as they will do no useless moves on the pitch).
Anyway, nowadays, we are with a team who can run but not that much and no coach: damn, we're in a bad situation !! :D
About Strasser for the first team, I don't like the idea. Strasser is not a real creative player (like Seedorf, Pirlo, etc.) nor pure defensive miedfielder ala Gattuso. He is more like Ambrosini, decent skills for defensive and offensive duties. For this type of player he needs so many experience since he doesn't posses special ability; he relies his play on his ability of reading the game (gained from playing many games).
Bringing Odumadi to the first team is also not a good move IMO. He is very rough of talent and depend a lot on his speed without sufficient finishing, dribbling and game-play passing skills. I do think that Milan first team player is not right the place for him where he can find many games to play, something he missed to make him a decent player.

It seems he can do it ... Against Juventus, Ronaldinho, for once, let his left side alone and moved on the pitch.
It looked to me like he played more in the centre than usually, allowing Pato to also play more in the centre and not as a right winger.
If the guy can do that during a whole season, then he can be kept, but it's a huge risk to try that ...

I have seen once how GREAT he moved and run back to help the defense by chasing the ball (even he failed if I remember correctly) but does he want to that again and again? :D

I agree, perfect example is pirlo. He barely ever runs yet the tactics he uses and the precise passing is what sets up the goals . even ronaldinho, sure he runs i mean he really has no choice down the wing but even when he does he's not really at his best form so really his running and skill at crossing players isnt as efficient as it used to be.. what makes him still a decent player and worthy to be in the starting line up is his abilitty for acurate passing crosses and shots. so really, tactical play < kick and run.. anyways this is a thread for the mercato so ill put my 2cents into it.. as we all know berlu and galli aren't big money spenders and berlu would rather sell the club then spend money if it wouldnt somewhat ruin his so called "reputation". I don't expect any big money spending, i just expect them to use their brain. We've made over 150mill in player selling over the past 3-4 years. I don't ask them to spend 150m on players and be another real madrid, but being smart and spending 40m on a young midfielder with potential and a good striker that can guarentee goals won't hurt that much.
I think everything needs balance - you have to have the proper effort to go with tactics to be a successful team. With a bunch of slow, immobile players, you are limited to play certain style. You can't hit anyone with counter attack, which Inter is so good at, when needed. I think that's one major weakness Milan is facing. So, I would mind dropping Dinho for someone with a little less tricks, but runs faster and more to balance it out.

Well, apparently Berlu told reporters last night that due to the financial crisis, etc, Milan's squad would be supplemented by 4-5 young players (three of them from the primavera side), and then, apparently, he said: "But since I have supported this club since I was a child, I will act if the opportunity arises to sign a real champion, someone who can give the team a step up in quality.
And then, according to another source, he mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo as the kind of champion he was talking about.
Makes me wonder if the protests from the Curva have made him react. He is a politician, after all, and I'm sure it won't be good for his image if he lets his "dear" Milan fall apart completely. If he can't even run a football club properly, how is he supposed to run an entire country?

I think if Strasser main ability is his reading of the game then that is a big plus. We haven't had a mid like that since Vogel/Redondo, and if Strasser is a box to box then he is what is needed.
Oduamandi in recent weeks looks great, and I think him and Verdi will give opp headaches if they get the chance.
Thought De Vito would get a chance, but we might buy Aogo, and switch Antonini to rb.
I'd like to see Donnarumma as 3rd choice after Alves (if signed) and Abbiati.
There is mention of a loan to Serie B, but imo that's a waste ground for our youth. Either go to a smaller Serie A club, or outside of Italy to gain experience.
I thik our best summer movement would be berlu out.
He;ll sign a champ if they become available, then mentions fag boy as the type of player he wants.
The only club with financial difficulties who want to sell are liverpool, and only Torres would be the player to capture the imagination, even if Gerrard, Mascherano, Babel & Agger would be good additions.

You can forget Torres, first he is out of our price range, secondly, Man City, Cheski and Real are all keen on him.
Hmmm... DeVito should get his chances anyway regardless of whether Aogo or Outamendi come in... Looks like Albertazzi will be our next back-up CB after Yepes, and I am not so fussed whether Astori leaves or returns to Milan. His buy-out clause is a fair amount, and we will have to pay through the roof to get him back.
Shame that the youth team is still playing and that Storari wil have surgery, as I was hoping someone besides Dida would be gieven the nod for the US tour.... He is leaving right?!
As for Strasser, why not, bcs I can't see Rino doing much better....
Personally I wouldn't mind Robihno coming to milan as long as he doesn't cost us over 20 million... Tactically he would slot in well, but I hope "Dihno and Bihno" off the field is not a deadly cocktail of Samba partying....
Gazetta dello Sport as quoted by goal.com said that Inzagi's on the verge of penning a one-year extension. Much as I adore you Pippo, I think it's already one season too many..

It depends on who we replace with. If say we get a player like Krasic, I think we can play 4-3-3 with Pato moving to the left, which I'm sure Pato can adjust to without too much of a problem, as he's played a similar role in the past and has shown he's quite versatile.
That said, if it was up to me I'd probably base the team next season on a loose 4-4-2, without Dinho and with a replacement like Krasic (who I think could be great for us if used correctly).
I want a striker, and did think it was of absoloute priority a couple of months ago, but quite frankly I'd be happy with just a new fullback (Mario Fernandes or Cristico being ideal), an all round powerful midfielder (Jucilei definitely tops the wish list there) and a new replacement for Dinho (Krasic seems the best option around) for the first team. I don't think that's unrealistic as we should be able to get Krasic with the money we get for Dinho and the others shouldn't be expensive.
With that, I'd want some squad players. A decent defender, a midfielder like Simplicio and a replacement for Huntelaar (someone who is of more use to our side) wouldn't go amiss.
It seems he can do it ... Against Juventus, Ronaldinho, for once, let his left side alone and moved on the pitch.

Dinho was tried as CAM and failed earlier this season. However, what he can do when he feels like it is start on the left and cut in to central positions. However, I doubt we'd be able to successfully use him in just CAM in 4-3-1-2.
This Pedro Leon guy, has anybody seen the guy play, regularly? I saw him play once, against atletico on sunday and he had a good game offensively, but didn't help in defense at all. i can't even remember seeing him in Getafe's side of the pitch during the 2nd half! In fairness, his team really controlled the play bt still......
Also he was almost always on the right, like a 'right-wing junkie'.
What i'm trying to say is, if this is hw he plays all the time, i don't think he's the kind of attacker we need. We need an offensive player that's willing to track back and help defend too.
Are you suggesting there coming ?? info if its true my god that would be awful now its not 2005 anymore
Thankfully, no. Unfortunately, maybe.
Berlusconi is clever. In a couple of quick statements he has sent the fans a few messages.
1. New coach should have experience with the youth team i.e. that is the new focus of AC Milan, despite none of our youth being good enough to start matches.
2. I will TRY for a champion i.e.TRY for ONE champion. So expect only one REAL signing this summer. And dont forget, Berlusconi promissed us an established worldclass striker last summer before we got Huntelaar, so dont expect a real 'Champion'.
3. He mentioned Ronaldo, to get pacify the fans. Hopefully we are not that stupid and hopefully he doesnt mean a player like the old Ronaldo i.e. an old player i.e. Thierry Henry lol
4. He has no intention of selling the club. AC Milan is over. Its one thing building a team around Maldini and Baresi. Its another thing building a team from scratch, in a a modern day era where there are 5 or so teams looking to build the best teams they have ever had i.e. Barca, Inter, Real, Chelsea etc.

If only that was true, never thought of Robinho...but he will be sold at a discount price. We can even trade Robinho for Dinho...IMO that would be perfect.
We can exchange Hunter with Dzeko plus add 20 mil. and get Simplicio for free.
Jucilei for 6 mil will be the deal of the season.
Can I day dream??
----Jucilei----Pirlo----Flamini----
---- Pato--Dzeko-Robinho-----
We would still lack replacement for Pato or Robinho. cuz I don`t see us getting superstar player as a substitute for the flanks(if we play 4-3-3 in the first place.) Thats why a direct exchange btw Dinho and Binho is very welcomed by me.
All this with 26 mil investment.
Facts:
Replacing Dida by Storari, Favalli by Yepes, Kaladze by Albertazzi, Jankulovski by De Vito, Gattuso by Strasser, and Oddo by an empty seat in the lockers is a huge improvement on this year’s squad in terms of Quality, Age, & Wages…and not only will it cost ZERO, it might actually generate whatever few millions Kaladze, Oddo, Gattuso, & Jankulovski are worth…I’ll be conservative and say 10Mio
Argumentative:
Sell Dinho, Borriello, & Huntelaar and don’t renew for Inzaghi and get Dzeko & Krasic & promote Verdi + 2 of Adiyiah/Zigoni/Oduamadi/Paloschi
Again, being conservative, I’m sure we can get an average of 15Mio for each sale…so that’s 45Mio and Dzeko+Krasic should not cost more than 55Mio, so we can use the 10Mio from the sale of the 1st bunch.
We will have a squad of:
Gks: Abbiati, Storari, Roma
Defenders: Nesta, Silva, Yepes, Bonera, Albertazzi, Onyewu, Antonini, Zambrotta, Abate, De Vito
Midfielders: Pirlo, Flamini, Ambrosini, Strasser, Seedorf, Krasic
Attackers: Pato, Dzeko, Verdi, Adiyiah, Zigoni
Line-up:
--------------------Storari-------------------
Zambrotta------Nesta----Thiago------Antonini
-------------------Flamini--------------------
--------Krasic-------Pirlo-------Seedorf------
-------------Pato-----------Dzeko-----------
I’m not saying this is my dream formation (especially having to keep both Pirlo & Seedorf as starters, one is enough) but I think that with a ZERO budget, that is the best I could hope for and I think it will be good enough to offer a season better than this one and more importantly build for better seasons in the future which is a promise we have heard since winning the 2007 CL.
P.S: i don't know anything about Jucilei and if he plays in the same position as Krasic or if has an Italian passport & we can get him along with Krasic...Brasiliero would probably know better

Jucilei is holding midfielder, but I think the MM scout in brazil Brasiliero would agree that he can be a great box-to-box player...smth what we need badly for years now, cuz or midfilders have been either to technical or to "holding" .
If we can not pay Jucilei (i can`t believe i`m saying this ,cuz he won`t cost more than 10 mil) than Simplicio is a must purchase. He might not be a first team material, but i`m sure that he will be a great upgrade to Gattuso, plus he is free.

Good dream and still possible to happen if Ronaldinho is exchanged with Robinho. Like you said the problem will be the sub for wing forwards. I would choose 4-3-1-2 with Dzeko is changed to an AM. This means we still have good subs for player behind two strikers (Pirlo, Seedorf) and for strikers (Boriello/Huntelaar, Verdi/Paloschi, Inzaghi). One biggest problem with 4-3-3 is the subs for the wing forwards (we need two players as sub for the positions).
By the way, can Krasic play in right-centre midfield (Gattuso's position or Jucilei's position in your formation?
David Villa is officially Barca: http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/88/spain/2010/05/19/1932075/official-barcelona-sign-david-villa-from-valencia
So with Villa, you think they either have to get rid of Ibra or Bojan. Maybe we can swoop in there and help them out :devs:
Whats up with every one here on MM? Why every one wants Huntelaar out? 12-15 mil for him won't bring you a Franc Ribery or Messi, but keeping him and getting the best out of him is better option than spending big of Dzeko or loser/problematic player like Robinho. If he can score for Ajax, surely he can do the same for ACM.
I am sure Uncle Fester, despite some negatives is still not mad enough to let him go easily.

Yes for Bojan and No for Ibrahimovic. His big nose is not an ACM material. Kind of looks bad in Red & Black :tongue1:
But Bojan on the other hand is very welcome

Robinho would be amazing, but only if it is not only him as our summer reinforcment. We can´t spend much in just one player. If the budget is only 20 or 25 millions, I would be more happy if we go for Jucilei, Mario Fernandes and Arouca.
If there´s a special fund for a big name player, it´s ok. To spend big value in just one player is a big mistake for us... We need a LOT of help!!!

Yep, Jucilei is a DM here in Brazil, but he is his best as a box-to-box. In Europa he will be asked to attack and defend all the time, and thats will only elevate his game...

Double post, sorry...
as much as i hate ibra, i think he would still be a huge improvement for our current team. but i wouldn't lose sleep if we didn't get him or didn't try to get him, and don't forget that barca hasn't exactly said that they will sell him either.

All depends if Ibra wants to play absolutely or if he will agree to be benched ... We can't know, look at Henry, the guy accepted to be benched this year and did several modest announcements (happy to be in Barcelona despite being on the bench, Pedro is better, ... the kind of comment we would hate if one of our players with huge wages did them) whereas he is actually one of the more pretentious French players.
Henry will leave and it looks like after the WC, he will do like Beckham: leaving for the USA.
So that leaves Barcelona with Villa now, Bojan, and Ibrahimovic for one single place, and they have Pedro alone for the left attacking position ... that means that Barcelona plans to use Villa on this left side OR they will buy another player.
This way, I don't see them already selling Ibrahimovic, and they stated that Bojan is going to stay in Barcelona next season.
Anyway, back to our mercato: I think the rumour about our interest for Robinho is just some built news by medias ... Think about it, Manchester City is supposed to be interested by Ronaldinho, they have Robinho who is supposed to want to leave this club, isn't it easy to say "Milan wants Robinho" just to make an exceptionnal "story of the summer" including two Brazilian stars at the same time ?!
On TMW (source: MilanNews), they report that our next coach is more and more likely to be Donadoni ...
I don't like these news ... and Donadoni tends to use the same kind of tactics as Leo did use. I don't 'see the point as Berlu criticized the way Leo made our team play.

Honostly doesn't Robinho exactly fit the bill for what Berlusconi said?
"I won’t pull back if there is the chance to buy a real champion who can give us that step up in quality."
There's obviously a chance at buying Robinho for a discount price, so Robinho fits this.
“By champion, by the way, I mean someone like Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Well Robinho fits that bill as well... But maybe this is the reason that there are these rumours anyways. Who knows, wouldn't be surprised if we're linked with Ibra in not to long, seeing as he'll most likely be leaving Barca it seems.

We should be getting both Jucilei and Simplicio. Getting one would be useful, but with one free and the other coming at a small fee, there's absoloutely no reason we shouldn't go for both.
By the way, can Krasic play in right-centre midfield (Gattuso's position or Jucilei's position in your formation?
I think he should be able to, even though it may not be his best role. If he did play it then he'd be similar to Seedorf in the past.

If we were to get him, it would definitely elevate the quality of our attack. In every respect he's better than Borriello and would be much harder to stop than Borri, making space for others like Pato to take advantage. However, there's pretty much no hope of getting him imo.

He did a good job at Livorno! And to replace Lippi after the world cup victory is not an easy job!!! Especially not with all players being on the wrong side of 30, and at the time there were not too many players who could step in. It wasnt brilliant what he did for Italy national team but it wasnt a total disaster also.
I really like the Don, it may be just a feeling, but I wouldnt mind him here!
But like I said before, it doesnt matter who will be our next coach, if we are not going to spend every coach will fail here!!! Players are again a year older and most of them are already WAY over the hill.
EDIT: forgot his time at Napoli, that was not so good :D but still, I like him
Donadoni, would be a nightmare.
Next manager will be possessed by Berlusconi i.e. a complete puppet. Why do you think Galli is being favoured over Tassotti?
Berlucsoni only wants a manager that will do what he wants.
What a dream job - Do as your master says, when it goes wrong, get the sack!
++EDIT Donadoni is a waste of space, and for that reason is perfectly suited to this management and set of players.

I dont think Donadoni is a yes man.
But its true what you say about berlusconi only wanting a manager that will do what he wants... probably we'll get a very low profile yes man, someone who can be blamed if it goes wrong.

I liked Donadoni as a player, but I hated him after he became a coach. He is the biggest 'yes man' there is, take a look at what he did with Italy (exactly what the press wanted) and at Napoli. He sucks big time. He is a worse version of Del Neri (who sucks big time and will get sacked by Juventus come October/November I bet).
Robinho has always been a hard on for me. He doesnt want City and wants to ret
edit: what happened to half of my post?? where'd it go?
was saying that Robinho can play as CF, SS, and trequartista and is definitely a world class player, and 5 years younger than Dinho... knowing Galliani he will be cheeky and ask for Robinho + 10mil for R80, when infact it should be r80 + 10 mil for robinho... anyway if this happens I will go crazy..... but then again, B&G have driven me crazy a long time ago so it doesn't make any difference really what we do...
Jucileu rumours are increasing..... Nice!

They need Dinho for the prestige..so they can say we have a former best player in the world playing for us...Same as Berlu did two years ago.It was obvious that Dinho was not the same guy, yet he was the happiest man on earth when we signed him.
They have already lost Roinho, they can only gain by exchanging him with Dinho.

i think for some reason we'll go after ibra maybe it's just wishful thinking but, he's a
6'4" striker who creates his own shots and knows italy well, imagine sell ronaldinho, klass keep borriello 2 wide backs and 1 or 2 midfielders and we're set, i just don't want to sell pato but for 60 million? hmm the reason i say this because pato doesn't create shots, could create space lanes but no passes assist,

Interesting question... If it was up to me, and we get Robinho and Jucilei and others like you said, I would play Pato and Robinho up front. Pato more advanced as CF and Robinho as a second striker, but playing free(left, right, deep). The secret to take the best of Robinho is to let him play all the field up front. He has great mobility and thrives getting the ball in stride... as winger he become a little predictable.
I really don't believe in this Big CF dogma. I want a CF(big or small) that can create his own chances and for the others. Thats why I wanted Luis Fabiano last season. But Pato was a CF all his youth career and already show he can do it in Serie A, even when played alone in Carlo's C. Tree...
Also, Robinho playing free(like in Brazil NT) create a lot of space for the CF, midfielder and fullbacks. But I will not hold my breath for Robinho. He is improving game by game here, and if he will have a good(or great) WC that I am expecting, we will be out of the race(budget).

Well, anyway, Manchester City, by becoming a big "buyer", will have to sell ... they can't keep 15 strikers in their roster.
Ibrahimovic or Torres going there ? Adebayor leaving ...
Balotelli ? Bye Bellamy and/or Adebayor.
Chiellini ? ...
About Ronaldinho, he is still a good value marketing wise, like you said, and a club like Manchester City needs this kind of player right now. Why ? Because taking Ronaldinho means more sponsors and a signal to other "good" players that the project is serious. It's why they took Robinho at start, to be able to then approach other stars (well, with Robinho, that failed a bit after his first interview !! :D I loved his "happy to have signed in Chelsea" at his first day in Man City ...).

If we can not spend big money, I am sure we will not (Berlusconi said so) then let's make our squad younger and more italian so we can prepare for the future!
The time is come to rejuvenate!!
Based on the squad list (Official webpage)
Out:
Dida, Favalli, Kaladze, Jankulovski, Oddo, Beckham, Mancini, Adiyiah - 6 foreigners, 2 italians
In (replacement):
Marchetti, Astori, Albertazzi, Otamendi, Aogo, Strasser, Lazzari, Jucilei, Verdi, Oduamadi - 5 foreigners, 5 italians, (5 milan youth product)
Coach: Allegri or Galli - Tasotti (Italians)
These are cheap changes, and can give us quality, youth, commitment and hunger, what we need for the future if we would like to build a winning squad for the next 10 years!
And if Berlusconi can give us a gift (Robinho, Ibra etc.), who can make the difference then it will be ice on the cake!

Ronaldinho "was" a good player, there is no guarantee he will perform as well next season as he did this season. He is also in his 30s, he has one everything there is to win, there is no possibility of him playing in another world cup, so there is no incentive for him to push himself anymore. He can no longer run or take on players, he is limited to picking out passes. Robino is still young, he can run and take on players. He has potential but has not reached the heights of Ronaldinho, so he has added motivation to push himself.
Ibra is Ibra, he was the king of Serie A for the past 5 years. The fact that he has not risen to the occasion at Barca doesn't mean anything, he is still a fantastic player.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A REMINDER: I know it will be late for most you guys, but there is a amazing game to watch today(21:40 Brazil) Santos x Grêmio. Fist leg 4 x 3 to Grêmio so, Santos need just a 1 x 0 win. But they don't know how to hold a lead without to attack. So, expect a crazy game like always happen with this Santos team...
My friend, Im not trying to be boring, but my question was about Milan with Dinho-Pato-Robinho as an attacking trio. To me it seems Milan will hold on to Ronaldinho, and - lets say Berlusconi really pays for one player and that player is Robinho - we'll play "tridente" up front. But nevermind it... I'd also play Robinho as left second forward and Pato up front.
People suddenly started to talk about TALL CF's, while its all about SISTEM of the team, not about phisical power. Milito has a brilliant season, and his space was opening coz of Eto'o, who played wide with Mourinho. Eto'o played pure CF in Barca... In Barca now, Ibra plays pure CF, and he is not doing so well coz their sistem is not made for his football. They bought Villa, who is now perfect for the way Barca plays.
Ibrahimovic was always a perfect player for Milan, and if we had him while we had Kaka' ( like we almost did!) we'd won it all without any doubt!
Our hope is that Silvio will really pay for one player ( fully ) and that Milan as a club will do some smart things like sell 6,7 players we dont need anymore.
Im also against neccessarity of a TALL and bih CF. Players like Ibrahimovic and Drogba are extreme players, but its not a must to have a 190cm CF.

my ideal situation, sell ronaldinho and hunter, get ibra and robinho and we will have the best attack in the world
Do you believe that's possible or is this basically your dream? I doubt we'll ever be able to pull that off. Ibra alone is too big a problem as Barca spent a fortune on him last summer and to lose him for even half of that would be an epic failure.
Robinho is a little more realistic, but he's probably worth at least a similar amount to Dinho and quite a bit more than Hunter.

I think is MGT would swap Dinho Hunter Abate Rino for Dzeko Robinho a good RB and Jucilei they would but they cannot and are not able/willing to spend so its pointless , Dida Favalli out Storari Yepes in Onyewu back , De Vito Verdi Strasser Albertrazzi promoted that has us with a 28 or 29 man squad with Pippo renewing this realistcly what our squad will be next season as the talk is just that talk.
We listen to Galliani talk about I could of signed Ibra Torres Lloris but didnt does he realise what a colossal idiot this makes him sound......Galliani saying aint doing.
Im prepared to write off this mercato as I think next summer there will be no way they can't invest , unless they renew Zambro Janku Kala Rino Ambro Seedorf and whoe ever . If they all get renewed or extended next summer then really it is over i think.
I really would like to talk to them as Jucilei Krasic Bonucci Robinho this year with Dinho Hunter going and saving on wages would be great and the youth coming up if two of them became starters it would be awesome another couple next year and maybe 1 the year after , that would be possible it possible but they really have to put in the effort or else say that they don't want to do anything.
I mean 4 years ago people were laughing and joking at how old our squad was and now its pretty much the same squad but 4 years older Cafu Stam Cap Billy gone the rest are the same. They must of seen what would happen and where they were going , I'd love now to have Tommason Vogel and a couple of others .
We can't run can't go the distance are easily run over by way worse opposition just because they a younger and faster. And our team is so susceptible to Injury .
krasic would be incredible. hopefully savecivic did his part and talked up this club to him.
but i just dont see it happening... hopefully 1 of the 4 you mentioned will come.

more of a dream. I was talking about an ideal situation. Even if we got both players free, their combined wages would be too much for Milan to handle.

In my opinion, they can be effective, but we would need a overhaul in the midfield. Robinho helps a lot, but he's not a winger that will track back with the opposite fullback, all game long. Ronaldinho work rate is -10. If only Ronaldinho become a 20%(I'm not even asking for a 50%) in work rate, and accepted to come back to AMD, it could work.
As I said before, we need to get rid of Ronaldinho(and get a replacement) fast. Dunga's Brazil is the live evidence that Ronaldinho(NOWADAYS) is situational player. He's that 3-point specialist on BB team that can come in and win a game, but at the same time, if put as starter, will unbalance the team and make us weak and vulnerable.
Ronaldinho has more pure talent than Robinho(and everyone nowadays), no doubt about it. But I would exchange both without think twice, and our team would be much better and competitive. I know people love Ronnie, but like I said before, even Dunga realize it(after give Ronaldinho thousand chances), and won everything after snub him... and for the record, it's not like he changed him for a WC player. It was Elano or Raimres...

I have said a few times lately that I would like to see us adopt a loose 4-4-2, with Krasic, Jucilei and Mario Fernandes as our main transfer targets. I have a little time so figure it's a good time to elaborate on my thoughts.
Basically, I want the team to built on a stable system that utilizes both technical ability but also takes advantage of physical presence (which the players I suggest would most definitely add).
My thoughts on the GK position is Abbiati should be kept as first choice with either Storari returning. If we can't keep Storari, another keeper will be needed as Roma can't be relied on.
The defence should get reinforcements, but I think they will be limited as Albertazzi will come into the first team squad, with Onyewu returning and Yepes coming in. That would leave us with Nesta, Thiago, Bonera, Yepes, Onyewu and Albertazzi for CB positions. It's enough, but the question remains how much quality is actually in that list. Fullbacks need a reinforcement, with my choice being Mario Fernandes, who I've been really impressed with. Cristico is another option, but unlikely. That would leave Antonini, Mario Fernandes, Zambrotta and Abate as fullback choices (with Bonera and option if need be).
The midfield needs some refreshment. Jucilei is without a doubt a top target for me as he adds physical presence but also solidity with good ability to go forward. Alongside Flamini or Ambro, we could see a very stable midfield that's dynamic enough to push forward and attack opponents. Given Simplicio is also available this summer, I'd take him as a reliable squad player, though it could be Strasser gets the chance to prove himself.
Pirlo would remain an important part of the team for next season, offering creativity and distribution further up the field. Krasic should imo replace Dinho for the wide areas as he offers more defensively than Dinho, which was a big weakness this season. Off the bench we have Seedorf and Verdi offering backup with Abate also able to come in to midfield to add depth. Ideally, we'd see maybe another creative talent added to the squad, but it's unlikely imo (though Andrea Lazzari of Cagliari has been linked to us).
The attack would be Pato and Borriello. Ideally, we'd get a world class striker to replace Borriello, but I think it's unlikely. Hunter should be replaced with someone who is more capable as an all round forward than a poacher (which I'm sure we'll keep Pippo for). I don't have names for the striker at this point.
So the squad would look something like...
GK: Abbiati, Storari, Roma
CB: Nesta, Thiago, Bonera, Albertazzi, Yepes, Onyewu
RB: Abate, Mario Fernandes
LB: Antonini, Zambrotta
MF: Jucilei, Ambro, Rino, Pirlo, Seedorf, Strasser, Flamini, Simplicio, Krasic, Verdi
FW: Pato, Borri, Pippo, New Forward
With us lining up along the lines of:
------------------Abbiati----------------------
Fernandes----Nesta----Thiago----------Antonini
---------------Flamini---Jucilei-----------------
------------------------------------Pirlo-------
---Krasic--------------------------------------
---------------------Pato----------------------
---------------------Borri----------------------
The concept behind the system is to attack and defend as a single unit. The defence is made of two solid defenders, but one of which (Thiago) is very capable of pushing forward if need be to add a dimension to our attack that opposition aren't prepared for. This is why Jucilei and Flamini are important as they provide the stability to free Thiago. Fernandes and Antonini would be attacking fullbacks to offer options in wide areas.
The midfield needs to be stable, but also dynamic, and that's why I like Flamini (though Ambro is also capable here) and Jucilei. Both offer a solid base to build on, but both can push forward frequently and with effectiveness. In recent years we haven't seen enough runs forward from midfielders from deep so I think it would be a refreshing change.
Pirlo would play as a creative centre as he has through the years. I'd offer him freedom to move around the pitch as he reads the game, though working mostly within the inside left, right and central channels.
Krasic meanwhile would offer width to our side, offering strength, pace and a drive on the wings. Therfore, whilst Pirlo primarily works more central channels, Krasic would ideally work the wings and inside left and right channels.
Finally, I think Pato would be brilliant playing as a free forward who works off of Borriello. His ability, pace and shooting ability make him ideal to run through from deep or shoot from distance, and with freedom to move into wide areas, he would be extremely difficult for defenders to track.
I think this is a realistic view of the kind of summer to hope for. Krasic's transfer would mostly be covered by Dinho's sale. Jucilei and Fernandes shouldn't be too expensive and Hunter's transfer could cover the other signings, not counting the freebies.
Has Ganso scored that 1st goal for Santos Brasiliero??!!! Mamma mia... :)
Cant believe I constantly miss Santos games, its becouse my mind is preoccupied with different things lately probably! Stupid exams, Im gonna miss all the moves by Santos stars :)
Too bad we are Lazio so we cant pay for anyone like some clubs like Milan, Inter, Juve can...

i 100% agree. The only team robinho, ronnie, pato would be a weakness towards is small italian clubs who don't come out and play. In those situations we still have borriello who does his best vs. bottom half tables... being physical creating space... either scoring or letting pato score.
however if people remember, milan always played well v. bigger teams who would attack w/ kaka, pato xmas tree because of counter attack possibilities.
Robinho and Pato would present Ronaldinho (who is more of playmaker these days, and a brilliant one at that) with two extremely mobile, always moving, fast, targets who are pretty clinical.
I love the idea. People are too set on idea of 1st striker, 2nd striker, trequarista..... with that trident Milan could have beautiful interchanging attack. And then Borriello (who i love as squad player) for situations where his work rate and skills are required for tactical reasons
I still believe, Borriello didn't get hurt in 08-09, Milan would win scudetto. They were first when he got hurt. His presense vs. certain teams was missed

I'm not suggesting Pirlo plays on the left, it's the basic structure of the system, but as I said I'd want him to be more central (covering the inside left, right and central channels) with Krasic focused on the wings.

well the 57 mil a year does not mean for transfers it means he had to cover the wages too, this is why we went in red, because let us say our revenue was 200 and our expenses are 260 mil. so there are 60 mil. berlusconi covered that. and there is no lie about this.
about 7 players going on tour because we cant take any primavera players they are still playing in the championship and our squad will be - 7 players for international duty so we need 7 players on trial, it does not mean we are going to sign them but this way they see america and maybe have deals in MLS

I agree. Somehow I think that Berlusconi blamed Galliani for that. 57 mil pounds per year and what we got? Almost nothing!

He is not prepared to buy or cant , but as Reza said his comments are vile and ridiculous he is going mad and will do no good from now on I think , i hope im wrong but 5 years of horrible MGT and bad signings and its getting worse , sure you may say Galliani runs the club but sh1t its Berlu's money and he was happy with Emerson , Zambro , Oddo , Ronaldo , huge contracts for Kala thos already mentioned and Dida Pippo Rino Seedorf Ambro , he must of known 30 + 4 mill a year doesnt play often no way but it happened and we lost money lost Kaka Gourcuff Paolo Carlo now Leo and no1 to help fill the void.

I don';t want another party by at Milan.
We NEED midfielders - Jucilei, Leon, Goulan, Simplico - 2 of whom are free, then we can 1 def & 1 att, and another keeper.
I'd sell Storari, promote a youth keeper to 3rd, and get Alves.
I'd like to see Dzeko in Milan, but it won't happen with the prices being mentioned.

Abbiati, Alves, Donnarumma
Abate, Albertazzi, Antonini, Nesta, Silva, Yepes, Bonera, Zambrotta, Aogo
Ambrosini, Flamini, Goulan, Jucilei, Pirlo, Seedorf, Strasser, Leon, Simplico

They spend fortunes every year, often needlessly. However, we must remember for Spanish clubs like Real and Barca, the debts are often going to be covered, so it's not a huge deal like for Man Utd.
Robinho > Ibra, Dzeko, Krasic.
I disagree, he is nowhere near Ibra. Dzeko is a different type of player and a consistent goal scorer, so you can't compare the two. Krasic is also a totally different type of player, its like comparing apples and oranges. imo, both Ibra and Dzeko are more valuable than Robino. Robinho has skill but he has not really proven himself in European football, perhaps he doesn't have the mentality and discipline for it. He is a good player nonetheless and would be a valuable addition to this Milan team.

I don't know if we'll go for anyone we have a 29 man squad now with Dida and Favalli gone the 4 youth team players promoted thats 29 and alot of players but honestly another 10 should because they are useless to us.
Hernanes Krasic Dzeko Otamendi maybe Robinho Jucilei would all come if we made a realistic offer to there clubs , however we will have to wait probably until after the world cup to see any action but I doubt that it will happen for any of them.
I mean we got humiliated by Inter this season and they most likely will win the treble , we got destroyed and humiliated against Man Utd and found it impossible to play at times against Samp Palermo Napoli even Bari for periods , the MGT know the guy's will more than likely do sweet F**K ALL next year but are prepared to ride it out on this group of players , next year Rino Pippo Zambro Oddo Janku Kala will still be hear picking up about a combined 20 million in wages and probably not play alot , this 20 mill could get us 2 players to improve our squad and 2 players that will play it would get us for example Otamendi and Jucile sell Dinho or swap him for Robinho sell Huntelaar and get Krasic with that money + 2 or 3 mill more .
I know it may not be that easy we dont know how the MGT really do but from the outside it looks crappy at best.
Milan has officially extended Pippo's contract for another year.
If you guys think that nothing can be worse than last year's mercato, then think again! The sooner you stop thinking about our buying Ibra, Dzeko, Robinho, and the likes, the better it will do you.
Berlu is pissed off and he'll do anything to make us, Milan fans, feel the same.

That really is awful news I mean really thanks Pippo great years many trophies but he was awful and i mean AWFUL this year he cant run , shoot , head , dribble , pass or even anticipate anymore.
Well we are the idiots Ibra Robinho Jucilei Hernanes Bounucci Marcelo Dzeko etc.... and all we have done is signed Yepes who isnt quality and is nearly 35 we signed we actually sign a 35 year old to 2 year's , and extend a 37 year old striker who can't score , I do not care who say's its only may then it will be the world cup is on and then it will be the players are holiday and then it will be sept......Im not annoyed or pissed I didnt expect anything but held out some hope , what can i do i'll still get excited before a game like i always do even when we are scraping for a europa league place.Im not even going to bother looking for any news anymore i'll pop by hear to see if im wrong and we sign some players that will add to the team.

This with Inzaghi is a SHAME.
They will do the same and with other players like Seedorf,Ambrosini etc.,which contracts expired next year.
Tomorow Inter will win CL 2010,and for us is just begining of the end.
I know it's only one article but the news keeps getting better. Guess who is the LB on the CL team of the season? The guy who wasn't brushing his teeth.

Galliani and Silvio are doing their best to let us look ridiculous once again, we are the joke of european football.

seems like we are interested in and are moving for Otamendi (argentinian) and Jucilei/Hernanes (brazilian). this would fill our non-EU spots (unless im wrong and one of these players is a euro citizen). that being the case we would have to find someone from euro for the attack (Ibra or Robhino who has a spanish passport) and rules Dzeko out.
anyone no what the latest is with these players regarding Milan: Bounucci, Criscito, Mario Fernandes?

Honestly my friend the latest is four players from the youth team Yepes Onyewu back Storari back and Pippo 1 year etension , thats all the news now and from all reports and interviews with B&G that will be all......So unless an official statement from the club say's we signed so and so and there is a picture of him with a jersey/he actually plays then don't expect too much.

thanks, and believe me, my hopes for this transfer market are not high. i hope we sign Jucilei or Hernanes to help with the midfield but this team desperately needs someone to help Pato score goals (Borriello, Huntelear and Inzaghi are not reliable). I wouldn't waste a non-EU spot on Otamendi, who at the moment seems to be the most likely to come here, when we can get good young defenders, Bounucci/Criscito, from Italy.

inzaghi renewal is as sad as it might get, renewing a contract for personal record is just sick, i thought the team comes first. but instead he wants to break gerd muller record, what a sick team we are becoming. and he did us a big favor by saying that breaking the record with another shirt would be unfair,
the only unfair thing is seeing inzaghi wearing our shirt from now on. he helped us with his goals and we helped him with unreal contract for 30+ striker

well, if we got Otamendi and Jucilei/Hernanes, then I think we shouldn't complain. Things could be much worse - we might get another Adiyah or Shevchenko or Grimi. Galliani has shown us in the past years that he could fill those two non-EU spots up with some surprise signings. :5dito::o

exactly, man. everybody seems to think that we are already at rock bottom, so the only way is up.
keep watching. we could still go down, further down. :nana: After all, extending Onyewu and Inzaghi's contract (official) and getting Yepes for free (unofficial) aren't exactly the start of summer that fans are wishing for.

from what i have heard those players have tremendous quality and i will be happy with those moves but a new forward must be brought in this summer.
I have a feeling that Moratti, with putting Milan into his hands, wouldn't do as much damage as our management did :hammer:
If Allegri does end up being our new coach, then we'll go back to the 4312. If that happens, I hope we sell Ronaldinho and get a real CAM.
edit: But we'll most likely just end up like this:
-----------Abbiati
------Nesta-----TS
Zambro-------------Antonini
------------Pirlo
------Flamini---Ambro
---------Seedorf
-----Pato
-------------Borri
.....Ugh
If Allegri does end up being our new coach, then we'll go back to the 4312. If that happens, I hope we sell Ronaldinho and get a real CAM.
I do hope that B&G read your comment. :D
Come on lol. If Allegri or any coach puts Seedorf in that role he should be demoted to the English conference. That won't happen, you can be sure, no coach is that bad.
I don't know what's your problem with Ronnie. He broke his mental wall and started using his technique and he also started to organise game in his area. He well co-operates with Ambrosini and Antoni. His problem is, that he goes centre not very often and he rarely takes responsibility for scoring goals. He'd rather play milion passes to Borriello than try to do it on his own. That's why opinion about Dinho is better, when we have got Pato on the right side. Xandre is more-creative-thinkig player, so he can easily predict Dinho's thoughts. Against Juve I saw Ronaldinho playing not only on the left side, but also going to the centre and playing in other areas of pitch. He should work on loosing weights and improving speed. Hope that Allegri won't waste Leonardo's work after bringing back Ronaldinho we all loves.
I can't see Pirlo in the long-term plan of team. In the midfield we need someone better in tackle. All these opinion about Andrea as a well organiser, deep playmaker seems to be a bull****. We don't need a man who isn't useful during defending, but can play "so fu**** elegant ball" to the partner who is 10 metres from him. We should look for somebody similar to Gokhan Inler or Daniele De Rossi, ekhm... someone like Hernanes.

Come on Milan, bring Jucilei. I would be very happy with cheap but smart transfers. The more we wait, the more the price grows... Damn, since last year I'm talking about this guy. :5horse:
How we can pay so easily for Grimmi, Carddaccio, Viudez and delay on Jucilei?!:wth:
Brasileiro, from 3 for Jucilei, Arouca and Hernanes who would you choose if Milan try to buy two of them (if Milan have the money)? Tuttosport (said football-italia) talked about Hernanes.
Hard question, my friend... Imo all of them will be great in Europe(if used right). Jucilei comes first for me, but the other two a rate REALLY righ too. Three very good persons and high character players. A dream for any coach to work with and for a club to spend money.
Between Hernanes and Arouca, it will depend on the price, imo. If São Paulo ask for too much(as last season), I'm all for Arouca and Mario Fernandes (Italian passport) with that money. If not, I would pay for both(plus Mario) and loan one of the them(because of non EU spot) to a Serie A team.
Since the world isn't fair, and we are struggling to pay 6 millions for Jucilei... With my heart broken, I would chose Hernanes because of his shoot from distance... and he can do better as a #10(if needed) than Arouca. But thats a very hard decision to take since Arouca is a amazing player. Think about a little less skilled Seedorf(but more fast and with a amazing work rate), playing as a DM... thats Arouca!
One more question, what are the differences among those 3 players, what are the advantage and disadvantages from those players?
Man, all can play several positions, all can play: DM, Holder, box-to-box, RMD, LMD. Arouca and Hernanes can do Pirlo's role(I don't like Jucilei there). Jucilei play some right-back. All are skilled, but Hernanes is more natural as AMD...
Disvantages: Hernanes price. Also, he has a little of Pirlo mentality(but much more athletic). While skilled, can't picture Arouca and Jucilei in AMD position. But since Simplicio manage to do it in Serie A, I think they can do too... Who knows?!?!
Imo any of Arouca, Jucilei and Hernanes are worth our precious non-EU spot. A summer with Jucilei, one of the other two and Mario Fernandes(Italian passport) would be a amazing(and realistic) step to the right direction.
I just hope we don't spend the non-EU spot on Otamendi, with a guy like Mario Fernandes(Italian passport Milan mgt!!!) on the market... and for half of the price. Watched Otamendi a lot, and can't understand the hype... and I'm not even tanking in account the game against Brazil in Argentine...

i think for some reason we'll go after ibra maybe it's just wishful thinking but, he's a
6'4" striker who creates his own shots and knows italy well, imagine sell ronaldinho, klass keep borriello 2 wide backs and 1 or 2 midfielders and we're set, i just don't want to sell pato but for 60 million? hmm the reason i say this because pato doesn't create shots, could create space lanes but no passes assist,
NO ibra... even if he is for free!!!! we dont want a "big show pony", "coward", "big game no show", "unriliable in may" :5horse:... get any one else!!!
DREAM MILAN...........for a 40K investment
i would certainly make pato the CF which is his best position, with krasic on the right & gaucho in the left...who said CFs should be tall n strong, if we have a guy like pato (who is best at CF .....and wasted at RF)
that with a midfield trio of pastore/hernanes ------ pirlo --------flamini
& a defence of mario.f-------nesta/mexes-------t.silva--------antonini
& a world class gk ---i would spend a fortune for lloris......he is a sureshot contender for future world's best gk..

Non-EU players
Unlike La Liga imposed quota on numbers of non-EU players on each clubs; Serie A clubs could sign non-EU players as many as available on domestic transfer. But since 2003-04 season, quota was imposed on each clubs for signing non-EU, non-EFTA and non-Swiss player from abroad each season, an provisional measures was set in 2002-03 season, which only allowed Serie A & B club to sign 1 non-EU player in 2002 summer transfer windows.
In the mid of 2000-01 season, the old quota system was abolished, which no more limited each team to have not more than 5 non-EU player and used no more than 3 in each match. Co-current with the abolish of the quota, FIGC had investigated footballers that using a fake passport. Alberto and Warley, Alejandro Da Silva and Jorginho Paulista of Udinese, Fábio Júnior and Gustavo Bartelt of Roma, Dida of Milan, Alvaro Recoba of Inter, Thomas Job, Francis Ze, Mekongo Ondoa of Sampdoria, Jeda and Dede of Vicenza were banned in July 2001, for 6 months to 1 year. However, most of the ban were reduced.
Since 2008-09 season, 3 quotas will be awarded to clubs that do not have non-EU players in their squad; Clubs that have one non-EU player have 2 quotas.
Those clubs which have 2 non-EU players, they will be awarded 1 quota and 1 conditional quota, which awarded after: 1) Transferred 1 non-EU player abroad, or 2) Release 1 non-EU player as free agent, or 3) A non-EU player received EU nationality.
Clubs with 3 or more non-EU players, will have 2 conditional quotas, but releasing two non-EU players as free agent, will only have 1 quota instead of 2. Serie B and Lega Pro clubs cannot sign non-EU player from abroad, except those followed the club promoted from Serie D.
Big clubs with many foreigner, usually borrowed quota from other clubs which have few foreigner or no foreigner, in order to sign more non-EU players . Adrian Mutu joined Juventus via Livorno in 2005, as at that time Romania is not a member of EU. Other case likes Júlio César and Maxwell joined Internazionale from Chievo and Empoli respectively.

Man, I wish they read too... When I started to hype Jucilei here, I was taking in perspective our new budget situation, since he was a "nobody" even in Brazil. The first game that I saw him(debut against Internacional, if I'm not wrong) I was shocked! Who is this lad? Can't believe it's his first game at Corinthians(where several good players choked) and against a big team like Inter... and the boy was coming for a team that play the 3rd division of Brasileirão.
I just needed to watch 2 more games, hear about how he is a really good boy(with high character), hard worker to know he would be a steal. Also, the big majority of you guys, when had the chance to watch him, also became impressed. So, I need to ask... Where are our scouts in Brazil?!?! It's easy to "find" Ganso's, Giuliano's and Neymar's, but we don play this game anymore...

We're not prone to buying fast, simply because Uncle Fester always wants to push the price down. Best we can hope for is that there'll be decent talent come August, because it'll just be like the Fabiano-> Dzeko -> Huntelaar situation of last summer.
Unless someone can point a gun to Galliani's head right now, or unless Berlu wakes from his slumber once Merda win the unprecidented CL treble (I puke as I type this), I just don't see us buying so early.
Even if we to manage to get the player, we have to re-check their teeth again :P

Brasileiro i have to give it to you bro, i read alot about Jucilei over here, but i never watched him or even never watched youtube clips for him, now i just did, and honestly i am very impressed and i think he is a #1 priority target for our mercato even if he costs 20 mil, i would take him over any midfielder in europe except de rossi.
from what i have seen this guy is a gem, he is very talented for a defensive midfielder and imo i think if he comes to milan he is a gurantee, very clever on the ball and off the ball. his decision making is really impressive, he holds the ball when he has to, he make a quick pass when its time to, he really impressed me, i am sure you covered all this but with jucilei our midfielder will look 100% different and more effective, with him pirlo can play more advanced role and we can rely on his presence in the final third which we rarely see him there except for corner or free kick taking. imo he is a perfect box to box midfielder who has physical strenght and good engine flamini pirlo Jucilei is a very good combination
this is the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC73p3SHqC4)i have watched and he left me in a shock and for him 10 mil is a real steal.

Jay, as annoying as Mourinho is, what he does seriously doesn't matter. He is nothing to me and most of us fans.
What really hurts is the fact you just mentioned, Merda have "more financial clout". It really pains me to see this team, when we all know what could be if Berlu would just loosen his purse strings a little.
Merda sold Ibra and brought in Eto'o, Lucio, Milito, and Sneidjer.
Where are they now? 2-0 up against Bayern currently and 20 minutes away from a League, Cup and CL Treble. 5 League titles in a row to be exact. By the looks of it, they'll be the second most winning team in Italy after next year (seeing how lacking our squad is).
We sell off Kaka for much, much more than that, and what do we do? pay off a stupid debt and end up barely 3rd in the league with an ageing midfield that will only get older. :P
Regardless of whether an Italian CL place was on the line, the plights of both clubs at the moment just makes me sick.
Now I know what Merda fans must have felt like in early nineties, watching us dominate Italy and Europe while they're drowning in obscurity.
