For me, if we want a midfielder, then get a DM to replace Ambro and Rino along with Flamini. A modern midfielder who can protect the back four but start moves and move forward. Jucilei or Kwadwo Asamoah are my picks to really strengthen the engine of our team and have a starting point to build on this mercato.

i tend to support flamini as a DM he never actually got the chance to play at that role here since pirlo always play there as a deep lying md. anyways, even if we purchase a DM i don't think Kwadwo Asamoah is the best man to play there. i love the guy but i think he is better off as a tranquartisra

Hi everybody.

I hate to be "that guy," but I think we all need to tone down our expectations. To be fair most have. I honestly think Honday etc. are out of our reach. We should aim for modest players because currently we are a modest team. Our management will not get us any quality players. This is a business decision. Currently, financial solvency and finishing amongst the top 3 positions is the most important thing for management.

I don't think this will change anytime soon.

We are not amongst the European elite currently. Until Berlusconi changes his philosophy or gets lost, we are not going to be near there either.

To me, Flamini is like van Bommel. Can be very useful if well managed, otherwise, just plain reckless and will hurt the team. That's why we need a long run planning. If we "decide" that we are not going to use him properly, we should let him go while he has a good market value.

I agree also , but maybe to the extreme I don't think anyone will arrive unless thay are free or on loan....and if they are free they will not want anyone that expects more than 40,000 a week at most.
So that would most likely rule anyone like J.Cole.

Next year our team will be .

.............................Abbiatti...........................

Zambro/Abate......Nesta...Silva...........Antonini.

........Flamini.....Pirlo.........Ambrosini

...Pato.............................Dinho

............Borri.........................

I just cannot see it any other way.And on the bench and our game changers will be.

Oddo
Yepes
Janku
Bonera
Seedorf
Gattusso
Pippo
Amelia
Zigoni
De Vito
Strasser
De Gennaro
Onyewu
Adiyiah
Roma.......Thats 27 players.

Thats correct I predict Hunter will leave and no1 will come in to replace him. They care more about profit or breaking even which isnt a bad thing. But I don't think the old legs will carry us to 3rd or 4th next season. And in the long run the lack of ivestment will hurt alot its mis-management.They are definately happy with 3rd in the league but are in for a shock as that will not happen next season.

Correction, Milan already World Champions in Dinho, Pirlo, Gattuso, Oddo, Zambro, Nesta and Pippo. That's more World Champions than any other team in the World.

AC Milan have snapped up Luca Santonocito from Celtic.

The former Inter junior moved to Glasgow with Celtic last year, but has now returned home.

Milan confirmed Santonocito's signing late last night, having landed the left-sided midfielder outright from the Hoops.

Official: Milan sign Santonocito

Posted by Meytar Zeevi on Jul 08, 2010 | 1 Comment

LUCA SANTONOCITO is a Rossonero.

The 18-year-old left-back has grown in Inter Milan’s youth department but moved to Celtic. Now he returns to Italy but in Rossoneri colors, as Milan continue to strengthen their youth system and their Primavera team in particular.

The player had been playing for Scottish side since 2007, but Milan, who are looking for alternatives in the defense following the probable promotion of Michelangelo Albertazzi to the first team, have concluded a deal for him.

Berlusconi: Time to get more from Galliani
Milan’s summer

The season of AC Milan’s Primavera will start soon and they will be trying to overachieve last season in which they won the TIM Cup and reached the eight-finals of the Primavera Championship.

Santonocito, however, is expected to be a second-choice as Primavera Coach Giovanni Stroppa has Andrea de Vito on the left-back side, who is doing a great job.

Yup it's all over the news.... however it's only a signing for the youth team.

Rumor has it that Bayern have bid for both Coentrao and V.d.Weil....both of which are very young and excellent. Both are fullbacks, one is a LB and one is a RB. Asking for both would be like asking to be a billionaire overnight, but I'll hope the milan management consider one of these at least.. Neither of them is Non-EU and they are definitely worth the money. These are the investments we should be looking to make, not 15-16 yr olds! I kinda rate these 2 fullbacks ahead of Honda, Dzeko, Ganso. I think our main problem for a while have been the lack of attacking fullbacks...with them I believe other plays like R80, Borriello, Pato and especially Pirlo can benefit from their movements.

Berlusconi is like Sokratis Kokalis(the last president of olympiakos here in Greece)
He made Olympiakos a great legend for the last 20 years wining almost every single year the greek league.I think 10 years in row winning!
Now that he recognized that he can't splash anymore the money like in past he gave the club to a new president, who has many dreams and moneys for Olympiakos.
The same its with Milan.Ok thank you Silvio for all the good you gave us, but Milan belongs to the fans, we have 101 years history he can't be forever our president.
He must Sell the club, and AC Milan will rise again.

So does anyone know much about Luca Santanocito? Can't say I've ever seen him.

I've read rumours on goal.com and milannews that Robinho could be a possible replacement for Dinho. I wonder about how good Robinho would be for us, but at the same time I think it's a deal worth doing if possible. The potential of Robinho partnering with Pato sounds devastating and he will work more for the team than Dinho. That would mean we lose our EU spot though if I'm correct, meaning no Jucilei (no big problem for me if we get Asamoah).

i tend to support flamini as a DM he never actually got the chance to play at that role here since pirlo always play there as a deep lying md. anyways, even if we purchase a DM i don't think Kwadwo Asamoah is the best man to play there. i love the guy but i think he is better off as a tranquartisra

I might be wrong but I think you misunderstand what I meant in my last post. I want to keep Flamini and use him as one of two DM's in our team (so Flamini along with the new player should replace the ageing players like Ambro and Rino).

Asamoah since breaking into Serie A for Udinese has always played as a deep CM who drives forward when attacking. Essentially whilst I say I'd like him to play DM, more specifically I'd want him to offer protection to the defence but also link the defence to attack, playing to a role closer to Sweinsteiger for Germany (and Bayern) than similar to what we expect from Ambro.

Berlu wants Galli to do something....But then Berlu needs to say here Galli go buy some new players heres the money , and bad Galli has been in the past 5 years he really can't do anything without money.
Eder is a no go says Galliani , Jucilei who is a good player with lots of potential and isnt expensive isnt even being looked at.Honda is too expensive they could of got Ibra for 7.5 million a year for 4 years too much they said....A lack of signings isnt whats bothering me , whats bothering me is the fact that there is no plan no sign of effort just talk about how great we WERE in the past.....Italy were great in 2006 but they will not playing in a WC final on Sunday so what does the past matter.

Allegris doesnt know if Dinho Huntelaar Oddo Gattusso Janku Kala Adiyiah or Onyewu will be there , how can he plan for anything ....and Im guessing he knows that there will be no new players.Taking over the reigns of AC Milan may not be the best thing for an up and coming manager.

Everyone is looking for the same thing and investment of about 50 million but selling Oddo Kala Janku Rino and Huntelaar would account for half of that .Get 4 players for about 10-13 million if they are good enough take Caceres on a loan with a view to buy. But who knows what will happen but I think we all have an idea.

We have next to no budget at all (even though Berlu is in the top 10 richest in Europe) and will sign 1 player MGT want it to be Ledesma who they will bid 6 or 7 million for (is that enough ??) he will play in Pirlos role and Pirlo will move up behind the front 2 as a trequartista...Does this mean Dinho is out ?? if Dinho gets sold for say 15 million and his 9 million wages and the 4.5 of Storari and the money for Oliveira from Zaragoza and Fly Emirates money that will be about 30 - 40 million. And they only plan on spending 6 on Ledesma.

There are the most fuked up bunch of ba$tards , I never thought that they pocket the money but you have to wonder.

Robinho has Spainish as second nationality, you only need 3 years in Spain to obtain one. So Spain is a good place to buy :D

Lotito wants 7 million for Ledesma a figure Milan are willing to pay but only if Gattusso gets sold.

AC Milan have 100% become a small club I not talking smaller Im talking small .Madrid Barca Inter Chelsea Bayern are big clubs who spend alot and buy great players , then you have second level clubs like Lyon Arsenal Porto etc.. who spend money to imrove there squads....Genoa Tottenham Napoli Benfica are outspending Milan , and while I know that spending does not guarantee success HOW THE F**K HAVE WE BECOME A CLUB THAT HAS TO SELL PLAYERS TO BUY A 7 MILLION GOOD PLAYER NOT GREAT ONLY GOOD. We need to sell Gattusso for Ledesma we get about 10 million a year from Emirates (is that correct) and we got 4.5 million for Storari.Where is that money gone really ???

I give up , I mean Galli says they want to sign Ledesma lotito wants 7 million...its now 12:40 here I bet you that by 16:00 GMT that Galli will say something about cooling the link .

Lazio and Palermo fights for Hernanes. Lazio wants Kevin-Prince Boateng. One of the players who impressed me during the WC.

if we continue to play with 4-2-3-1, i'd rather to take Honda/Oezil/Boateng and Thomas Muller from Bayern. Pato on the left performs better, Muller is amazing player, Germany missed him so much during the semi final, very important for them, both defensively and offensively.

Frederich and Kjaer will form a very good CB pair together, Wolsburg finally had a nice CB pair.

Arsenal signed Koscielny, very good CB.Thats what they need. Arsenal should improve on team defence, defence and destroying rival's game. Otherwise The scudetto is a dream for them...

City is doing great job, Boateng, Silva and Yaya Toure.they are overpaying much Though. Great signings. i dont rate Boateng much after i saw him on WC. Good player but never close World class material...

Asamoah costs much, i doubt if we can sign him. What about Khedira? He would be an upgrade to our midfielders. Basti is so unlikely...

We need quality, young and world class signings...Not gambles or finished or ex champions...

Robinho can make great contribution to us. All we need is a player like Honda or Ozil in midfield then a fighter in front of the defence with very good offensive skills such as Ledesma. Then focus on wing backs...Then we are set...

Financial straightjacket that there is no money will be no money and we will be trying to swap players instead....the one he wants is to swap Hunter for Podolski , Hunter will not go to koln and Podolski is not good at club level.

The size of the club is determined by its success. Not its budget. That is why so many players passed over Man City (Kaka, for one) and only when they got Mancini as their manager, did anyone actually take them seriously.

Clearly because of the political realities surrounding Berlusconi, it seems pretty clear that we are not going to be spending. I think its funny that we want a youth program like Barca's, but are not ready to go through the pain of that transition. Frankly, I like seeing more and more young names come to us, while not guarentees, I would love to see more players like Abate, Antonini, and Borriello playing for us.

Milan is a big club, its a team that makes quite a bit of money (top 10 in revenue) and other clubs aren't stupid. Milan might have a tighter budget, but they still have some money. I don't see the point of Galliani to pay over-the-top prices for players that have the post-World Cup added price. Furthermore, if clubs want to see us as being on a smaller budget, that puts us in a better advantage. Its the same negotiation skills that merchants use in bazaars and markets in the developing world.

I agree with the frustration over Milan's "revolution" always being "next year." However, 2011 really is that year. That is when those contracts we are stuck with actually expire. It seems obvious we're trying to move Kaladze, Oddo, and Janku but we can't. Fine, they'll be gone next year. Dida and Favalli are gone, and I don't see us resigning the terrible trio. Pippo still has some worth to him, those goals two seasons ago were great, and while he frustrated me this season, I have learned not to doubt him.

With Ronaldinho, Pato, and Pirlo; Milan still has that bit of star quality. What we were missing last year was stability in the back (injury wise) and the depth that could carry us through tough spots. Keeping Ambro, Zambro, Seedorf, Nesta, and the like aren't the problem, it's that we are relying on them as much as we are. Games like the Chievo game where Seedorf came up big, show that these players are still valuable. Scholes, Giggs, and Van der Saar provide that quality for Man Utd, for instance, the critical element behind their longevity is the reliability of their back-ups.

We are going to focus on youth, that's clearly the case. Last year and this year will be painful. Because we're going through transition, does anyone remember the dark times of Barca before Ronaldinho came? I do.

Plus, I don't see why you guys think debt is so awesome. Barca just had trouble paying for their players wages. Taking a loan out to pay wages, simple wages. So, no, I don't want that model. If it takes a few years of pain to get back to being healthy on all levels, then I don't care. You can't run a team properly without financial stability, the German clubs are strong examples of that.

While I am also frustrated at the lack of new players, I also understand the sort of tough position that the management finds themselves in, whether it was their fault or not is not the point, the fact is that they are trying to deal with it as well as possible. I mean, if we get a coach who has won Serie A coach of the year twice in a row, then grab a keeper on loan who might just be on poor form, and get an experienced CB who was one of Serie A's best CBs to provide us depth that killed us during our scudetto push, I don't see what is the problem considering that it is still July.

If a new stimulus is all it took to get Ronaldinho from dead-weight, to one of the major protagonists of last season, I think that Milan is looking on path for a strong foundation. I'm looking forward to more youth injected in, especially as they've been doing so well. I just don't know why we have to continuously yell and scream about the mess Milan is in. It is, but I think the bigger question is where this club is going long-term, rather than next month.

I don't know why we are taking the word of goal.com and others. I just see what is happening, and so far we have made a few smart moves, and I think we'll be seeing what happens. I just don't know why some random swap deals and made-up theories over Milan's deep strategy is being put forward by bored journalists, and we seem to love taking the bait and believing the worst case scenario. Until critical injuries, Milan was actually going after the scudetto. I'm sorry, its pretty clear that the problems are not as deep as many here think. That's the difference between us and Man City.

Fair enough Samaldinho , but if a club is judged on success then we have not been anywhere near being successful in 3 seasons...even last year we came good for awhile but I didnt ever believe that we would win the scuddetto just didnt have that feeling of confidence.

And youth is great but while Barca have been the best at it this decade just look at the quality of players they signed to blood in with the youth and not all for ridiculous money.
If there plan is not to buy players and just snap up promising young players and think that they will slot into the first team and we will be one of the best clubs around again then they are wrong. Its great if you can have 4 or 5 players playing a vital role for your club that are home grown but you still will have to sign players. And nobody here is talking about paying players 200,000 a week and paying 80 million for players. We are talking about players that at most 10 - 15 million and will be good additions that will make our squad and team better.

I see your point but I disagree Milan are no longer one of the top clubs we have not been past the CL last 16 for 3 years have not seriously challenged for any trophy in that time. Are constantly losing games to sides like Fiorentina Roma and Inter , our players look tired after 60 mins when they play , Guys like Borri Abate Antonini Bonera are only good players .Our youth team players some of who are 20 and 21 are still not good enough to play in Serie A that is not any good , if they want to try and copy Barca , then looking at guys like Messi Pique Busquets Bojan Iniesta Valdes Pedro Jeffron, we have nothing in our youth team even close to any of those guys.

Thats another thing those are the best Barca have produced in the last 8 years thats 8 players are we going to play with 8 players and no bench ??? Youth development is great but you stil need to buy playes and not overpay .

Anyway, I just thought about something ... everyone praises the way Barcelona works with their youth sector.

What would we have thought and said if Milan did like Barcelona did and will probably do again: letting Piqué leave when young and having to buy him few years later (the fee isn't known, but I don't think they just paid 5M), or other example, letting Fabregas leave when young, and now, look at how much they are likely to spend for him ?

Just a post to say that even the "perfect with their youth sector" Barcelona makes mistakes. So we should prepare ourselves to see these kinds of mistakes sooner or later too as we're newbies into the management of a youth sector.

The size of the club is determined by its success. Not its budget. That is why so many players passed over Man City (Kaka, for one) and only when they got Mancini as their manager, did anyone actually take them seriously.

Agreed, but Milan needs to rebuild before we can expect success.

I agree as I've stated in the past it would be a dream to see more youth players coming through to the first team. However, we must be realistic and be aware that we're still probably about 5 years away before many of our youth players are likely to play an important role in the club (most are in their late teens and unfortunately not everyone is Pato).

We need to invest in the generation that will play for the club in between the current generation and the generation where we actually get to reap the rewards of our youth setup, and even then we will still need to invest, as it's very rare to see teams have the majority of their team made up of youth players.

The argument you put forward here is sound, but only has any real value if we see some actual investment in the mercato. Unfortunately, given what we've witnessed in recent years and the sounds coming out of the club, this seems quite unlikely at this point in time.

In addition, it's important to note that even when we've had money, poor management has led to flittering it away. The contracts we've offerered are ludicrous and some of the purchases made were either unnecessary or poor (e.g. Oliveira, Viudez, Cardaccio, Brazilian fullback whose name I can't remember, Onyewu and I'd also add Ronaldo and Ronaldinho to the list).

I agree 2011 is a huge year for us, as we will have the chance to really see the old generation finally being replaced. My worry is are we leaving too much work for one summer. It's not just replacing older players that we need to worry about, but building the squad to compete for the next 5 years or so.

You've hit exactly where our problem is here. Besides Pato, every star name you mention there is over 30, with the majority being in their mid-30s. We have "champions" over 30, and we have potential future stars around 20, but we have only really got Thiago as a champion player who we can rely on for the next 5 or so years (maybe Pato, but he shouldn't be burdened with such pressure imo).

Agree with you in principle. However, our management has acted far too late and made this transition extremely difficult and risky. Maldini has said that Milan should have rejuvenated after the 2007 CL win, which was now 3 years ago and we've done very little.

I said years ago on this forum that our transition to youth should begin immediately with continuing investment (even in cut down form) in the first team until we can see the results of the youth. This gradual transition would make the change much less risky and manageable. It's simply a massive bet to just go cold turkey as the club has done.

I think it is important whether the club's situation is the management's fault. They are supposed to be experts in this field and haven't acted appropriately. The fact is, if their gamble fails then the club's future won't be what we've come to expect. We shouldn't really be in this situation, and quite honestly fans have every right to be angry given what's led to us being here.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with a lot of what you have to say. However, I do also think you're letting off the management too lightly in your comments when in reality, they have been really poor in recent years.

Were those 'players' not stolen from Barca? I may be wrong, but they couldnt be signed to contracts as they were under 18 and hence Man U and Arsenal offered big money (to them) contracts. I dont think Barca could have done anything about the situation.

Which means that Arsenal and Manchester United believed in these young players more than Barcelona as Barcelona could have given them some more money to stay too ? So IMO, it's a kind of mistake by Barcelona as they didn't notice the talent of their own young players when other clubs did ...

My point is that we should prepare ourselves to see some mistakes from our club too with the youth sector (not this mistake of letting players leave as the rule changed, clubs can't "steal" anymore players who are under 18 if I'm not wrong). Some money is surely going to be wasted, which won't be a problem if we manage to have some players like Pedro or Iniesta emerging from our youth sector at the same time: if we can't manage to have some good/very good players emerging from our youth sector, it's just going to be wasted money and nothing else.

I hope they are aware about that.

You may be right, Im no expert on the issue. But Barca couldn't legally offer the players contracts - and contracts made in secret can't be enforced because noone should know about them.

Lazio were fuming when they lost Mecheda, there are many other examples. The laws work in favour of English clubs and against Italian and Spanish.

They couldn't sign contracts at their ages in clubs in Spain, Italy etc, whereas the non-development country of england can offer them contracts from 16.

The rule hasn't changed but now the sterasling club will have to pay a lump sum t get the player even if said player could be worth 20 million in the next 3-5 years.

Didn't UEFA make a rule about clubs being forbidden to offer contracts to U18 players of other countries to avoid that ? I thought it was planned, but I don't know if it was only rumours, if it was done or if it was cancelled.

Nope, pretty sure they didn't.

The English end up hurting themselfs though. It's clear that when non-English players push English players out of the best football acadamies, then it's gonna affact the number of good English players.

If the English FA really wanted to do something about the English NT then they'd do like Spain and Italy and not allow this kinda poaching.

Kaka’s brother leaves Milan and joins Penafiel

DIGAO has decided it is time to depart from Milan.

Ricardo Kaka will be remembered in the history books of AC Milan, his brother on the other hand, will not be mentioned anywhere in relation to success with the Rossoneri.

Digao joined Milan in the summer of 2005 and was sent to many teams on loan – featuring only in one Serie A match for the Rossoneri. The center-back is tired of it and he has decided to take off.

Rodrigo Izecson dos Santos Leite, who is responsible for the nickname of his brother Ricardo (Kaka) has joined a second-division Portuguese club F.C. Penafiel.

The 24-year-old has played in the lines of São Paulo FC, U.C. Sampdoria, Rimini Calcio FC, Standard Liège, U.S. Lecce, F.C. Crotone and AC Milan. His new adventure is Penafiel.

If Ronaldinho goes then we need a replacement that's potentially just as big a personality and threat. I must say I've warmed to the idea you and hitman have about Robinho.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned we're on the verge of getting 2 Genoa youth players for our Primavera. The first is Diego Polenta who is 18 and appears to be one of the new generation of solid Uruguayan defenders, whilst the other is Richmond Boakye who is 17 and has scored for Genoa in Serie A.

Basically, getting these two means some of the Primavera last year will either get promoted or be moving out on loan.

Wasn't he almost certain of leaving the team this summer? Why the FK have we renewed his contract? My gosh Galliani is killing us. I hope to see him sold just like Storari after he renewed with us (Storari renewed to increase his value, hope its the same with Massimo).

Brasiliero: I really hope R80 would get sold to those teams, it would be great for Milan. I believe he could be sold for 12 million at least, and save 9 million of his wages for next year. That amount in itself can bring in a player like Coentrao or Van der Wiel. About Van der Wiel, I will be hoping to bump into him in Johannesburg tomorrow and tell him to join Milan. I like to take credit for bringing Pato to Milan, because when he played the World Cup in Canada I told him to join Milan and he did later that summer :D. Your welcome guys.

With all these 2011 summer transfer thing. I think we are really hoping for the best, as soccer is not like Basketball where players are free agents. Like what Miami did with Bosh, James and Wade or other teams creating spaces just to have a shot in signing them.
Lets say, Kala, Janku, Zambro, Dinho, Ambro, Seedorf, Pirlo and Pippo are all gone in 2011 summer. DO you really believe that Milan will be out splashing huge amounts on players then? If so, why don't they do that this summer or last summer?

I'm not sure if I'm honest. Either Galliani's out of his mind or it could be a clever move given the situation. As you said it could increase his value for an eventual sale, but more importantly I think it depends on what he was previously earning. If he was getting 4m a year like many players, then paying 3m over 2 years lessens the cost a lot, especially if we can't sell him.

I'm not in the slightest pleased about him staying on. However, it may be a necessary move to try and cut costs on the whole.

We said if the old players were renewed that it would show MGT were not prepared to attempt to get rid of them...Check
We knew we needed new blood and said last summer if nothing happens mercato wise it will be bad for the future looking even worse this year ...Check

Using youth is good its great but how many of these guys are they thinking will become good players ??? all the Barca guys , Rooney , Pato , Fabregas and all othere Arsenal guys were getting 7-10 games a season at 16 & 17 ad were regular at 19 because they were/are very good players.

Our youth guys are all 19 & 20 and have never played if they were good and really promising they would of got game time , but between Zigini Verdi De Vito and Strasser Albertrazzi Adiyiah (the guys that we think could step up) they have played what about 30 mins...Im not saying they are bad but i dont think they are very good either.

I have this feeling that we will sign Ibra...Barcelona names his price at 35 mil wich is fair for a player of his quality. He is very marketable so I believe that berlu won`t have problem spending that money on him.

Ibra for 35m is expensive imo for a forward who will be 29 in the new season. In the past I wouldn't have questioned the move, but right now it seems a crazy move given our money troubles and our needs in other areas of the squad.

Sakho again linked with Milan and Inter according to Milannews, so maybe something to be excited about.

At the current state of Milan, I think it is stupid to splash anything over 30mil on any players even if tat guy is Messi. Since there r just too many holes to fill. Galli should really sign players who are around 10mil max, that way he can fill two to three holes in this Summer and again next summer.

Guys I would like to see and can really come for cheap are Santacroce, Jucilei,Tulio Rommedehl, Santon, M Richards and that N. Korean striker. If Milan managed to sell Hunter and Dinho, then sign Honda and someone like Forlan.

As it stands i really don't think Milan will be doing any business until August when there generally is more value in the market the only exception being a player which is milan no 1 priority on the transfer list possibly ibra who knows. These rumours generally never seem to pan out we must of been linked to over 35 players so far this summer so far the only recruits are amelia yepes and santonocito 2 which came as complete surprises to me as the rumours only surfaced about them when milan had completed the deals. To assume that ibra and co are realistic transfer options will only break you heart especially with a financial monster which is mancini man city buying anyone and everyone man city would probably jump at the opportunity to bring in ibra if he became available.

In any case i would rather assume that Galliani priority is defence and midfield rather than another striker we should even attempt a move for ibra unless we are able to sought out the basic problem occurred in the fullback positions in particular the rb position and as for the midfield please can have a alternative to seedorf we were lucky he stayed injury free and in form last season. If there is a budget available to buy players are first two objectives should be honda and van der wiel than if we have any cash left over sakho or ranocchia should be a priority. My personal view is we should only seek out a new striker if are able to get rid of klaas and borriello for a healthy amount otherwise we will just be encouraging another debt crisis and a team which is top heavy.

Kobe and the Lakers are still the strongest. Beside, I doubt Miami get even get any decent bench and role players due to no more money.

They are already getting Shaq, Mike Miller and Raja Bell. That's a pretty decent supporting cast right there and they are still not done. I pray to God my Lakers do something else to improve their bench and beat this team of ring chasers.

About the Oddo situation:
- Without signing the new contract, we would pay 4M for 1 year
- With the new contract, we'll pay 3M for 2 years.

So we'll save 1M (not a lot) after 2 years, the best about this deal is that this salary will be cut in 2 years (so we'll spend a lower part of our budget on him), but that means we will have dead wood in our team for one more year.

So I'm not really convinced by this new contract.

Actually, we're doing what the guy from Cagliari said he would do with Allegri (keeping him, so paying him for nothing). We all thought it was quite stupid, and now, Galliani does the same thing with Oddo (for a different reason, but the result is the same: keeping a player and paying him for nothing). So, after writing that, I'm not convinced at all and I even think it's a stupid idea.

PS: About Oddo, I don't criticize him, he accepted to be paid less, so the only stupid part is the one coming from Galliani.

Pato won't be sold this summer, period.
Why am I so sure about that ?

Go on the official AC Milan website, you'll notice something: Pato is everywhere on the website, in the news ("Pato will be in Milan in 11 days" for example, well, who cares ?). If you went on the website some weeks/months ago, you would have noticed that the star of the website was Ronaldinho, and suddenly, he totally disappeared from the site. For me, that means that the situation with Ronaldinho isn't clear right now and as a consequence, all our "marketing" is done around Pato.

I may be wrong, but if the website has some kind of importance ...

Pato costs around 55-60 m euros at least, İbra failed at Barcelona and however they want to sell him, their asking price is 35 m euros if i remember correctly...Lets keep Pato and loan İbra with an option to buy. Only City can pay that amount of money to Barcelona for ibra considering Mancini, considering Juve wants to sign Dzeko, Who's another city target.

Oddo's wage was 2 m euros a few years ago. Who renewed it with 4 M euros a year. Who can be? Off course SOB Galliani. his magic continues...

Loaning Mancini is a bad move, inter would give him free to us, as they want to get rid of him so bad...We need young and quality players who can improve first 11, not the bench. Why we allways improve the bench first then we say, we have Oddo, first we should send him away to sign anyone.

Galliani should be replaced first...Then Everything will be okay. Roma is doing very good mercato without money, Adriano and Simplicio are very good signings. Juve is doing bad mercato with money. İnter s in silent, as they dont need to strength the squad to win scudetto, they could have 2 first 11 which both of them are much stronger than ours.
They have many world class players, while we dont have much. maybe they can sell Maicon, if Real offers what they want. 30 m euros.

i dont see the logic playing Pirlo as trequartista, Come on Allegri, Pirlo cant play there,
you have to find a way to play Ledesma and Pirlo together or rotate them. Pirlo is not effective on further area, its better to sign a player like Honda, who is effective there and has great finishing. Playing Pirlo there, will make us so predictable and slow, and ineffective in attacks.

İbra's wages are around 12 m euros, its an amount we cant pay. so ibra is very unlikely.
Fabiano's ages makes me think and he costs much considering the age. Then we dont have much options there. Melo wont add anything to us. Veloso wont add anyting to us.

Pato and Silva are our only young and quality world class players. i really cant understand everytime someone link with them. if we sell them, we will be finished. They want to sink us or something. we just link with rejects.
Robinho, ibrahimovic. still world class players but rejects. we dont link with for instance, Mesut Öezil, who costs less than ibra, Honda, Muller, Lahm,
Khedira, Basti e.t.c.

But we, ibra,Robinho, Melo, Veloso, Mancini.

Did I read that article wrong? It said cash plus Pato for Ibrahimovic.

If that had even a tad truth in it, it must be the most humiliating deal we would have. Can't believe even Barcalona wants to screw us over. Are they getting better or we getting worse and worse? Remember they bought Zygrynsky (knowing his ineligibility for Champions League) for 25 million last season and sold him back already at 15 million. Then there was the cash (was it 40 million?) plus Etoo for Ibra deal which pretty much gifted Inter Milan the Champions League trophy. I even thought that Guardiola made those two purchases out of spite.

And that Barcelona? cash plus Pato for Ibrahimovic? the goal.crap must be f*cking kidding me.

Rabia mentioned Pirlo as a trequartista. Has Alegri said he would do this? I think it would work, Pirlo is one of the few players in the world who is able to receive the ball at will. For years teams have tried to stop him getting it, and he has always slipped markers.

Put him behinf Pato and whoever else, and there will be assists galore. It would be an upgrade from Ronaldhinio, in my opinion - mainly because Pirlo wouldn't go missing in the big games like Ronaldhinio did last season.

On Ibrahimavich for Pato. Its simple maths to me:

Add lazy, but talented Ibra to a slow and talentless Milan side without Pato = Frustration.

Keep Pato, and use the money we would have to pay Barca (shouldn't they be paying us anyway??) and get a partner for Pato = Something to look forward to.

Jankulovski spoils Sokratis move
Saturday 10 July, 2010
It’s reported that Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ transfer to Milan collapsed because Marek Jankulovski rejected Genoa.

According to Italia 7 Gold, negotiations were at an advanced stage and ready for completion.

Greek international defender Papastathopoulos was lining up his move away from Genoa towards San Siro.

However, the deal collapsed because Jankulovski turned down the switch to Genoa in exchange.

The 33-year-old Czech full-back had also rejected a move to Inter in January and is heading for his sixth consecutive campaign at Milan.

-----

I have seen this guy a few times, and he is pretty good. Strong, aggresive, quick, good on the ball, clever, can play at rightback too from what I have seen. Kind of like a David Luiz type player. Interesting thing is, whenever I saw him I always thoguht he was above 30 - he doesn't look young. I have just checked and he is only 22. Looking back at the games I have seen, his game is much more mature than his age.

Shame the signing fell through - Come on Genoa, what wrong with you? Take one of our 'Champions'

If Milan can get Ibra, it is a first step toward rebuilding. Yes he is 29 and says he still has 4 good yes in him. In these 4 hrs Milan can really focus on Youth while still manage to get into CL due to the weak Serie A with Ibra.

GeoTav
11-07-2010, 05:49
I'd also tend to say about Ibra that even if he has failed in CL so far, he has probably matured and this experience in Barcelona will make him eager to show what he is worth again ... so it could be a kind of "career launcher" for him (I mean, he could become great in CL for example all suddenly, it's just about confidence: look at the career of Toni, of Forlan, etc).

If there is no player from our team involved in the deal, I'm all for Ibra to come in Milan (even if in my head, I'll always see Ibra as a former Juventus and Inter player).

An Ibra-Pato attacking line, well supported (or not, as Ibra could be there to distribute the balls to Pato who would turn around him) could be destructive, and with Borriello and maybe Huntelaar as subs, we would have an amazing attacking line for both Serie A and CL.

Jay Crisp
11-07-2010, 07:16
Apparently now we are giving an option on Pato to Barca to tempt them into giving us Ibra (doesn't say how much) not including him in a deal. But when Milan eventually think of selling him on then Barca will have first Refusal.

Isn't it sad that its now a fore gone conclusion that Pato will be sold , I mean we knew that he would be but to let it be public knowledge is kinda sad IMO...and pathetic. I know aswell that we will probably not see the best of Pato in a Milan shirt he has 4 year's left on his contract and Id think he'll move on in 2 .

He may need to move on if he wants to start winning trophies while I don't think we'll be relegated I also cannot see us challenging for the scuddetto or CL , not with Ibra anyway .If Ibra arrives we still need those wingbacks we talk about , box to box mid and a creative midfielder...and maybe a solid confidence inspiring keeper.

Ibra - Pato-Borr-Hunter does look great , on paper but if 30 million will be spent on 1 player its clear that no1 else will come in and i'll be a bit sceptical about success . So I would prefer to spend 10 million on 3 very good players or 15 million on 2 or 30 million on someone other than Ibra.

But they way our funds are and the way mgt is thinking nowadays id really think that while 30 million over however would be spent on Ibra but not on anyone else. And the one thing that does worry me is Ibra can do some amazing things he also can go missing , he isnt the quickest guy and do we really want Ibra leading our attack until he is 33 or 34 with Pato gone ???...and then there will be the obligatory 2 year extension when he is 34.

K77SH C

I don't agree. For a striker normally their peak will be only until 31 years old. His price should be still so high and IMO for our current situation it is a waste paying 35 millions only for a striker that can we used optimally for 2-3 years. I would better reinforce our offensive midfield and still believe in Bori & Huntelaar until we have found the optimal option for our striker.

What can the club do ?
I mean, did you read what Pato said ?

He said that he wanted to respect his contract in Milan, and that he would like to end his career in International, his club of heart.
While the comments of the journalist were that the fans should calm down and relax as Pato will remain in Milan, when I read that, I just see a player who'll play for Milan for 2-3 more years (his contract ends in 2014), I see no intention to stay for a too long time here (actually, I don't know a lot of star players who stayed in their initial or second club until the end of their career) and when you add that to some quotes (Premier League would be interesting, etc), I just see a player considering Milan like a first step in Europe.

So Pato will leave, it's sure, not this year, but maybe in 2 or 3 years (before the end of his contract): we should try to use him properly right now, make his value increase, and why not using him undirectly in deals (an Ibra-Pato swap would be stupid, giving an option to Barcelona to buy Pato next season to have Ibra would be stupid, we need Pato to stay for at least 2-3 years, but if we give a 40M option to Barcelona for 2013 to get Ibra cheaply, it's worth doing it, and you never know, maybe in 3 years, Barcelona won't have enough money to buy Pato and we will manage to keep him one or two more years) to get players as we know he will leave someday.

Ronaldo played in PSV, Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid and Milan in Europe. Ronaldinho played in Paris, Barcelona and Milan (and maybe somewhere else soon) in Europe.
I just use two of the best Brazilian players of late as examples, but it would be easy to do the same with 99% of the other South American (as a whole, not only Brazilian) players when they come in Europe. The last quote of Pato just made me remember that we shouldn't forget that these players firstly played in their country and their real club is there. In Europe, for most of them, the clubs are just a step in the career.

It's why I don't believe we will have both Thiago Silva and Pato in our club in 2015 for example.

PS: The same can be said about European players, for example, a French player going to England won't play in the same club forever.

Im not saying never sell Geo Im stating why it make it public knowledge ??? UTD were never going to keep Ronaldo but they never made it known he would be leaving , Its just sad that its common knowledge that Pato will be here play 4 or 5 years learn off of great players maybe become one of the best players around at 24 and be sold as soon as it happens. Its the workings of a small club like Benfica Porto Genoa Napoli....not a tiny club But not something That I ever would of Thought Milan would be doing....and I think it is sad.

But this "public knowledge", if you don't read between the lines in the quotes of Pato, only comes from rumours ... Galliani or Berlusconi or any other official of the club never said "we'll use Pato to get Ibra" or "Pato is going to be sold in a near future", fortunately.

For Ronaldo, while Ferguson never said he would sell Ronaldo (he even did like Milan with Kaka' by saying he will never sell him and finally sold him, the same is probably going to happen with Fabregas), Ronaldo always said, like Kaka', that his dream was to play in Madrid someday.

Report: Milan paid Inter €7m for three youngsters

Posted by Meytar Zeevi on Jul 11, 2010 | 3 Comments

THREE Nerazzurri players will be wearing Black & Red soon apparently.

Sky reports today, Sunday, that Milan have made an acquisition with bitter rivals Inter Milan and this time for young lads and not first-team players.

While Amantino Mancini looks set to return to Inter after half season on loan with the Rossoneri, Cristian Daminuţă (20), Attila Filkor (22 tomorrow) [pictured] and Marco Ezio Fossati (17) seem ready to make the opposite way.

Tottenham monitoring AC Milan’s vice-captain
‘I want to stay at Milan, but not on the bench’

It is rumored that Milan paid Inter €7 million for the trio. From the information Rossoneriblog.com has collected about the three players, all of them have bright future ahead of them, Fossati in particular.

Milan continue to reinforce their young sector and this time with Daminuţă (defender/midfielder), Filkor (midfielder/second striker) and Fossati (midfielder) as reported by the Italian press.

I like us signing youngsters like this, but its time they get their chances! we have soooo many old over the hill players so its the perfect time for the primavera players to step in. I hope that will happen a lot next season. I was already expecting this last season but not even one of them got a decent chance.

Why would Inter help us by selling us their best young players? This deal has moronic written all over it. And we paid 7 million euros! The same 7 million euros we appearantly don't have to complete the major signings like Dzeko, Fabiano or Ibrahimovic.

The scouts of our youth sector didn't make mistakes last year, so they maybe noticed some talent in these players ?

Why did Inter sell us Pirlo and Seedorf ?

Before condamning these players, let's wait to know them a bit more and look at what they could offer to the club.

PS: 7M seems a lot, but if one of these players becomes a real talent then, these 7M will be peanuts.

Totally agreed! Why not give our own young prospects chance to flourish? And why would Inter sell them cheaply if they were that good? It looks like another Viudez-Cardaccio's (whom we paid 0,5 and 1,5 millions) saga to me.

Anyway from football-italia, Lazio's 8 million offer for Hernanes was rejected by Sao Paulo. They said that they received a more lucrative offer from other club (it's rumored to be Villareal who are willing to pay 11 millions). The negotiation itself is at advanced stage.

Last season our offer was, what 2-3 millions less than what Sevilla had asked. And now the genius Galliani squandered 7 millions for what's-his-names when by adding another 4 millions we can get a much more decent and proven player whom we've been following for some time and who can substantially improve our midfield.

Back then Pirlo had shown glimpses of what he's capable of in Brescia, Seedorf had won 2 UCL. These kids, especially the older two, never even played.

Like I wrote above, Galliani bought Cardaccio and Viudez for peanuts not so long ago, taking one of the non EU spot as a bonus. So don't underestimate his stupidity either!

I wish robben could come to milan.. although there is a difference between how a player would preform in the world cup and on small week in week out games at a club team, i still love this player.. he played great the hole world cup and although missing two great chances in the game it shows he can at least go for those attempts, i love the fact that he has great pace and hes constantly on the ball he rarely fails to cut through the defence aswell. Anyhow dreams never become a reality nowadays with milan, more realisticly speaking i wouldnt mind the transfer of ledesma :) better then nothing tbh and it could add until we start ACTUALLY rebuilding the team when italys out of these times of "crisis" even though berlusconi still hops in the back of a different rolls royce/audi everytime he has to go somewhere :(

We're again linked with Cristian Ledesma from Lazio. Haven't seen him play much, how good is he? I mean, Maradona have tried like 150 players for Argentina the last few years, but not this guy. He hasn't played one single match for the national team. Is he worth signing? We can't sign him just because he's got Italian citizenship...

I think we should take each case/transfer separately otherwise, no offense buddy, it almost seems to me that all these squad full of champions BS from B&G have gotten into your head. Okay, those two were amongst our greatest signings in the noughties. But that took place EIGHT YEARS AGO. And as sliffersd pointed out, Moratti learned A LOT from it. Much as I hate them, it's a fact that they're the team to beat in Italy (and have been for some years) AND Europe. When was the last time we can say the same thing about our club?

Good if it happens. If nothing else, the fact that he's younger than anyone in our midfield rotation makes this a good transfer. It is, however, a big IF for this to happen.

I never said that 2011 will FOR SURE be the year that Milan will rebuild. I said that that is the year that many of our older player contracts will expire, and whether it actually will be or not, we will know in 2011, because that is when the contracts actually expire. So, please, if you're going to put me in the category of someone who is an "optimist" or whatever, at least get my arguments right.

As for potential transfers, I don't see how we constantly miss the details that come up. Pato said he will stay here until 2014, and I think if we can actually build him up (his salary is 1 mil, for instance) and get him to extend, I can see him staying here for a while. As for Thiago Silva, he said he wants to stay here until he's 40. So, seriously, calm down.

With Leonardo leaving, I thought that Milan had sunken to a new low. However, seeing him as the favorite to take over the Brazil job, it makes a lot more sense now. I'm not sure if it was as one-sided a deal as it looks, just like how I doubt whether Kaka was sold against his will. If Milan had appointed Tassotti, or someone like that, then I would have agreed, Milan is destroying itself. However, Allegri has won coach of the year, twice. So, he can't be that bad, can he?

As for transfer rumors, who knows whether we paid 7 million or not? And to talk about how we took Vieri and Mancini, so we're stupid, I laugh at this. We took them for free, tried them out, didn't work out, ciao. No harm in trying.

As for Galliani being stupid, for the Emersons, etc there was also hmm, the Kaka, the Pato, Thiago Silva, Pancaro, Stam, Cafu, Flamini, Beckham, and it seems that our youth sector is becoming incredibly strong.

As for Inter's stupidity. Yes, they might not have sold US anyone like Pirlo or Seedorf since, but, I think for a team that has just won the treble, to go out and replace Mourinho with Benitez, that is a stupid team. Benitez will destroy Inter, and I cannot wait for him to get to work. The sort of money he's wasted at Liverpool, for average players, amazes me. Honestly, how terrible a manager he is, literally, shocks me. He did great work at Valencia, and perhaps Spain is where he should be, but, my Lord, he has an uncanny ability to destroy teams.

I am worried that we won't sign anyone. In fact, I'm more worried about Ronaldinho going than anything. What is really funny about this forum is that we look to interpret all sorts of information but rarely listen to quotes that haven't been twisted with headlines. Pato said that he wants Ronaldinho to stay, he underlined that when asked about his future with Milan. Yet, so many here want him gone? Clearly, Dinho is Pato's mentor, and I don't see how it would be in our interest to let Dinho go, especially after his last season.

Replacing Dinho will be difficult, especially on our budget, and considering the sort of marketability he has, I really hope we don't lose him. He was in the Nike ad for the World Cup, yet had slim chances of making it. That tells you everything. Not Robinho, Ronaldinho.

We have to wait and see, but what I can't stand is how we construct soap operas out of nothing. If Oddo can't be sold (for whatever reason) and we currently pay 4 million for his salary, then signing him for an extension for less money is the smart idea. Paying 3 million to let him go is not smart, because you lose a player. Remember that spot in the season where everyone wanted him to play? Who knows, maybe he'll provide some valuable cover next season? Regardless, this choice was the smarter one for Milan, on a business and sporting level. Not ideal, but required.

As for Kaladze and Janku. Janku may provide midfield cover, but, Kaladze clearly is not trusted at Milan. They are difficult to deal with, but they also are part of the 2011 camp. The problem with them is not them as players, but their salaries. If extensions are given with severe pay cuts (like Oddo) which saves Milan money, then I support it. Obviously it is not ideal, but the point is to save money. Oddo is probably seen as more useful than those two, so the dynamics are probably different.

As for our youth players, I think we will see Allegri do something. Looking at the players he's taken under his win at Cagliari, I have hope for what he can do here. I mean, Cossu, Marchetti, and Biondini were not Italy candidates before he came, so who knows?

And the last bit of my long novels (sorry I don't get on as much during the summer.. okay, okay, I write too much..) is the issue of Flavio Roma. Has the guy played for Milan at all? I don't think so, and he's supposed to be a third string keeper. So, seriously, can we stop hating on the poor guy? Even Abbiati mentioned that Roma should be a player that people factor in when looking at the GK duels, he has played for Italy before. In fact, we have three keepers who have.

Stars of the Future - Marco Ezio Fossati: the 15 year old who betrayed Milan

May 20, 2009 by Francesco Federico Pagani

________________________________________________________________

June 2007: Massimo Cellino, President of Cagliari, and Massimo Moratti, president of Inter, find an agreement for the transfer of Suazo from Sardinian society to that of Milan. The player then goes to Appiano Gentile for medical Rite before formalizing the transfer to Inter. In that week, though, something happens and June 19 Milan officially announced the conclusion of negotiations in their favor: Suazo will then move to the Rossoneri.

After several days of confusion, however, Suazo expressed his desire to go play for the club via Durini that, by paying 14 million euros to Cagliari, then free, according to a special purpose clause in the contract that he signed with David Sardinian society, the player can move to Inter.

What do Centra l 'affaire Suazo, who monopolized for more than two weeks the attention of fans, with Marco Ezio Fossati, young talent to the students under the National Inter?

Center all right: in the same summer, in fact, the boy, still fifteen, the young leaves National (They were coached by Steve, who tries in every way to restrain the power of knowing this guy) Rossoneri to move to bitter rivals AC Milan. Were the case, decided to leave the company to join the Via Turati youth cousins Inter.

A choice that does little stir at the time: Mark is a kid who only know the passionate conscious.

Choice, the magazine today Fossati treading in very good light at the last European under 17, an impact very different and marks a very marked difference between the two companies: one is the Red and Black, veteran of two decades of huge wins, which seems have now overshadowed the importance of its nursery and focus on young people (with the exception of sweet Pato) to rely on experienced players, able to stand now at the best stage in Europe, especially dear to executives via Turati . On the other hand, the Nerazzurri, who is doing a great job on his own youth: Santon Balotelli and are now holding almost fixed, despite his young age, and both have a past in Inter's youth. Krhin, Naples, Right, Obi, Caldirola, Lamb, Beretta and many others are interesting prospects that could be aggregated to the first team in the coming years.

Well, not officially know the reasons which prompted Fossati to "betray" the most bitter rivals AC Milan through to the company's Red and Black, but it does not seem to be encouraging news, especially for fans of the Devil, that Milan points so little on their own nurseries, not protecting his best pieces.

Marco Ezio Fossati, in fact, is one of the best prospects of all Italian soccer, I would say European. About Europe were closed Monday for the championship under 17 category where he was one of the best players of the competition, which is not negligible. In a sort of virtual top 11 of this tournament include the whole life, that's for sure. All this confirms the fact that today few games to his level, not only in Italy.

Fossati is a midfielder with good time directing, but the "easy" compared with Pirlo would be wrong. The two, in fact, have very different tactical and technical characteristics, which are such a comparison possible.

Pirlo, in fact, a very different way of being in the field: since it was moved down to the role of director, he was born playmaker, has a style of play that led him to be very static, occupying only a certain area of the field . All also provide a reference point to their comrades, who always know where to find him to hand over the ball and start the action.

Fossati, however, play different: much more dynamic director Rossonero covers a much larger portion of the field, going over and over again during a game, to move into in attack in areas of the field that Pirlo is to occupy much rarely. All this to go shooting at the cross, to search for the last step or just give an alternative to carrying the ball more.

At the tactical level, therefore, does not seem to be "one dimensional" as his fellow AC Milan: Pirlo if several years now occupies almost always only a certain position on the field, in fact, had seemed to be more flexible, being able to find placement in different forms and, above all, different positions, could then adapt to most game situations.

A feature that can unite them is the one that sees them both good shooters kick, although this is certainly higher than the fundamental Andrea Inter young athlete.

Technique, style and dynamism make Fossati a player capable of launching offensive in the area with much more vehemence than does Mr Milan, who to boarding at breakneck prefers to dictate the timing with the geometry of which is capable of.

Fossati then, now, could easily be used both as internal and as mezz'ala midfield or even just in a position more suited to a pure film, as he is today.

His talent, however, absolute.

Being a boy not yet 17 years old would be rash to make a prediction about the goals that can be achieved, but the route taken seems to be that good surely.

After moving to Inter, in fact, was once the aggregate National Cadet, one year earlier than the normal schedule. Everything to seal the precocity of his talent. After last year, and was confirmed in training, which became the captain. But there is already talk of his promotion in the spring, that seems obvious. Perhaps he could then follow in the footsteps of Santon, ending with the first-team debut soon.

Certainly is an interesting talent, and the whole bit much there. Mourinho has also been shown to have no worries in deploying young boys, unlike what we usually do our coaches. For Mark, then, a future in Serie A could be far away.

Meanwhile, more immediately, there is also the national fixed point of the Under 17 finished third (a tie with Switzerland since the end part was not played) to the last European Championship, will play in the Championship so short World under 17, yet another showcase in which to showcase their talent.

And Mark, you need to scommertici, if you do not say it twice.

How do you deduce Benitez 'has an uncanny ability to destroy teams'? He was a success at Valencia and he had some success at Liverpool. Yes, his last season at Liverpool was awful to say the least and there have been some patchy moments in between but don't forget he continually led Liverpool into the latter stages of the CL for quite a few seasons in a row.

I think you're getting carried away with things. How do you know he'll be bad at Inter? He's astute, clever, intelligent and his tactical knowledge of the game is better than most managers in the game. At Inter he'll have the backing of a president who can give him £40 million to get a single player. He won't have to deal with boardroom politics and two yanks sniping at him every week or approaching other managers to do his job. He'll be in a stable club with a good set of players.

Mourinho set Inter up to be hard to beat, they didn't play expansive football. Benitez did the same with Liverpool, they were hard to break down, so in some respects there won't be much initial difference to how the teams play.

I think your comment that he will destroy Inter is a bit far fetched and lacks any kind of supporting argument, though it is your opinion which you are obviously entitled to.

Is RB a better coach than JM, the answer is no. But if Inter can stay as a team with strong additional signings like Torres or Mascherano... The team will only get better. They might not win the treble again but I doubt any teams in Serie A can even challenge them for the title.

Hello all, I'm new to these boards, but I've been a Milan fan for many years. Glad to find this place! Now that the World Cup is over, my attention turns to the summer market. Abate/Zambro...Nesta...Silva...Antonini

Flamini/Ambro.....Pirlo......Seedorf

..Pato........................Ronaldinho

..............Borriello.............

Oddo
Kaladze
Janlu
Yepes
Onyewu
Bonera
Gattusso
De Gennaro
Inzaghi
Huntelaar
Zigoni
Roma

Maybe ...Verdi , Strasser , De Vito , Mancini, Adiyiah

Can't see anything else at this stage to be honest.Unless something happens like a change of philosophy by MGT.I wont rag on the guys from Inter but as someone said , Seedorf had 2 Champions leagues and played in a WC Semi Final , Pirlo showed great promise and had played for Inter aswell. These guys at 21 and 22 have never played that is a big ? in my book .

Well RB DOES waste a lot of money so hopefully Inter will be skint some time soon.
I predict him to do well, probably win the league this year. And then he will build 'his own team' which will bring Inter down to where they were 10 years ago! lol. The guy is a decent coach but he is someone who would benefit from a director of football or a chairman (like ours) who buys the players and leaves him to coach.

How are you Jimbob, long time?

I don't think Brasileiro was ever too convinced by him and hadn't really heard of him before he came if I remember.

I'd like us to keep Abate, the guy did quite well last season and should be kept at least to add depth to the squad.

Thanks to Rick for the news on the new youth player. Also read today that Strasser will be our primary backup to Ambro, ahead of Gattuso.

Caceres free on loan.
Hernanes 11 million
Ibra 7.5 million a year over 4 years.
V.d.Wiel 12 million
Ranochia 8 million......and still have 8.5 million left , I know mgt are not looking at these players save Ibra , and even if they offered the guys may not want to join....But a mercato like that is okay imo and at the same time complete fantasy....IDK what to think.

Van Der Wiel has impressed me so much at this World Cup. He didn't attack much during the tournament, but I've seen him attack at Ajax and he can do some great things in the attacking end. I was just never convinced of his defending ability from the few times that I had seen him with Ajax. But for me, in this WC he showed that he can defend and hold his ground in the back.

Just wanted to relay some info I found on Fossati. This is a google translation of an Italian blog. There are also some videos of him there.

I don't exactly understand. Was Fossati a Milan junior player when he was 15 years old (which means we just bought him + the other two players for 7m)?

I just read an article in Italian (better than with a translator, I didn't really understand too the translated article): Fossati comes from Monza, came in Milan and left us. He didn't renew his contract and will come back in Milan for free.

On TMW, they wrote again that Honda could arrive thanks to Fly Emirates really wanting him. And Joe Cole would still be in our plans ...

So, he was a milan junior player.

Somone posted news that we paid 7 millions for 3 young players including Fossati which means he was not free like the news said (you wrote above)?

i don't know if that's just me or does anybody think that pirlo (my personal idol nevertheless) is becoming tactically a stumbling rock in our plan of moving on and forming a good team. his deep lying midfielder role forces us to play with a CMF who can defend and that is usually the weakest link (gattusso/ambro/flamini) and a CMF who can help the attack (seedorf only!!/ambro sometimes). what i mean is that if we can develop a game plan similar to that of lippi's with the national team with two DMFs flamini and ambro (with strasser/gattusso as backups) who protects the defence and help the full backs to go upfront. then we will have an AMF infront of them who links the midfield to the front line. this player would be pirlo/seedorf. the fact that they will both fight for the place will increase their level of preparness and will accomodate for the lack of consistency/fitness which appeared from both players last season. I can't say that this is a perscription for victory but it does seem a better solution given the current squad. it would also help identity the weaknesses easier. if a goal enters it's either the 2 CBs or the 2 DMFa. not because pirlo mis passed the ball and is too lazy to run back. also if we want to strengthen our squad now. we will get back ups for both positions. a DMF and a tranquartista.

Regarding Ibra, it's a big yes from me. If Ronaldinho leaves, and he will, it's an open door for Ibra. Yes, he's a big game flop, but he can score 25+ goals per season in Serie A and make 5-10 assists.
Beside that, he's one of the most skilled players in the world, together with Totti probably most technically skilled and entertaining and that kind of players were always welcome in Milan.
Also, I think he would fit perfectly into Allegri's 4-3-1-2, as he loves to move around, he can play the ball and he's fantastic at quick exchange of passes.
And forget his Barcelona adventure, he wasn't happy there and he was played in bad position. I don't know why Guardiola bought him at all because he isn't the kind of player for center in 3-men attack.

Regarding world cup and promising players, well it's all fantasy football, but I want to express my opinion anyway.

Salcido form Mexico impressed me a lot, I remember him as center back but he was great as LB, fantastic shooter from distance especially. But, he's not young, he played in 2002, if I remember correctly even in 1998. That keeper from Ajax is good, it would be great if we'd go for him, but that's fantasy football. Oezil would fit perfectly in here as trequartista but I don't want to get overly excited with German players playing good for NT. Anyway, Schweinsteiger has grown into one of the best all-around midfielders in the world, imho.

http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/67/world-cup/2010/07/12/2022117/world-cup-debate-what-will-brazil-england-italy-spain

Here an interesting article on goal.com and I think we should go for Italian youth more. When you see these players, Motta, Santon, Santacroce, Rannochia, Bonucci, Aquilani... all very promising, some of them great already. Juve is doing great job buying young and promising Italian players, look at their team now, they've bought Motta and Bonucci, they have De Ceglie, Candreva, Marhisio, Giovinco, I mean in 5 years time when 6+5 rule should be applied, Juve will most probably have a great team.
And Milan, well now we have only 2 Italian's considered as starters, Pirlo and Nesta. Both in the thirties. The only Italian player connected to us is right now Lazzari. But, it's not just for 6+5 rule, it's for Italian NT. I remember how De Rossi's generation won under-21 Euro with a treble. And just notice where are most of that player now, just because there's too much non-Italians and they can't make an impact, so they sit on the bench for 2 years and their progress is gone after that.

Thanks very much Jay!

Welcome...without being funny I believe our starting lineup will be as follows.

.............Abbiatti/Amelia....................

Abate/Zambro...Nesta...Silva...Antonini

Flamini/Ambro.....Pirlo......Seedorf

..Pato........................Ronaldinho

..............Borriello.............

Bench
Oddo
Kaladze
Janlu
Yepes
Onyewu
Bonera
Gattusso
De Gennaro
Inzaghi
Huntelaar
Zigoni

Don't know if it was posted before, if so, sorry...
In Brazil they are saying Lazio or Vilarreal are near to sign Hernanes. Lazio bid with 8M but it was said Viallarreal offered 11 million and it's almost sure they will get him.

It 's been said several teams are asking for him but only Villarreal and Lazio sent a real(official) offer. CSKA and a Arabian team offered before but Hernanes said not because he wants to play in a big center.

For the first time I heard a São Paulo director talking about to sell him, so it appears they now want(need) the money. Huge steal for Villarreal if they get him for this price...

First of all, I don't blame Zamparini for disliking Milan.
Secondly, I am surprised none of you are starting rumors like Darmian going to Palermo will be a lead in for Pastore coming to Milan.....

To be honest, there are a couple of ways you can view this co-ownership deals.
1. Milan is so desperate to loan out Darmian that they are willing to sell half his rights to Palermo, or begged Palermo to take Darmian.
2. Zamperini saw something in Darmian and knew that Milan doesn't thus, he wants to get Darmian but MIlan is afraid that Darmian will become the new Kjaer, thus only co-ownership deal with Palermo.
3. This is just a normal co-ownership deal that we should all leave as that.

Personally, I think it is stupid to do co-ownership deal, esp on someone whom the team thinks will be a good players and playing at a position of need. Don't Galliani learn anything from Borreillo. I have not seen Darmian over the past season, but from those Milan games that he played, he is okay with potentials. Thing is that, why give out a new contracts to Oddo, and not recall Darmian to play in Milan. If Darmian makes it at Palermo, Milan must give out at least 8 mil to get someone whom they already have toi begin with.

hitmannq8
13-07-2010, 03:04
Darmian to palermo is good 4 both clubs, palermo in particular.

If its a co-ownership then Palermo has "bought" Darmians half for a value that Milan has agreed on (ie more cash for Milan). If he turns out to have a good season, his stock will increase, so either Palermo or Milan can sell his 50 percent for more. Loan would be better, but think of it as u were Zamparini, getting a player on loan would just mean you need to buy another next year. However if u invest in him, you would be interested in buying his half to sell it at a better price in the future.

I hope Dinhos rumors about wanting Flamengo are true, and I hope Hunter finds a new home asap. I do like Ibra but let's not kid ourselves, he is 29 (just 2 less than R80) and Hunter 26. Letting go of these two just for Ibra alone isn't wise. I hope instead they look into world class younger players in the form of Fabregas and Robinho. These are guarantees. Worst worst case scenario they flop and can be sold for the same price without any losses. Same cannot be said about a 29 year old.

-- question for the premiership followers, is it true that the tax for footballers in England has increased to 50 percent? When will this law be effective?

-- Anyone know the latest on this deduction of NonEU spots? I heard rumors of postponing when will it be effective, is that true?

Not a good deal for MIlan in my opinion if Darmian made it big.

Anyhow, as for EPL. It really does not matters if EPL tax as much as Serie A, as teams in EPL receive more money from TV than Serie A teams. Last year the payout for collective TV deals per team was about 45-50M Pounds, it was rumored months ago that the new deal will bring the payout to aroun 60M pounds. Thats close to 85M Euro a season, not including CL, Europa, FA or League Cup.

It matters ... as EPL clubs pay a lot more their players than Serie A clubs (with the exception of ... Milan: actually, we have had the tendancy to pay a lot some decent players, like clubs in EPL, probably because of our English origins :D).

But that won't solve any problem, anyway, not at short term (and even if EPL clubs had trouble to pay their players because of this tax, Spanish clubs still have their tax advantage too ...).

I do think its looking highly unlikely that anyone (no name in particular) that will improve the team in a position we need will arrive. The club simply has no money I wonder where it goes 86 million for the wage bill , what happens to the other 150 - 180 million because we don't sign anyone ???? is the rent for the san siro that high ??? the travel to and from games flights around europe for CL matches ??? advertising paying everyone on the coaching staff the milan lab the offices , I suppose it all add's up.

And means we have no money , they also mention the 20 million tranfser budget for the first team and added to that the Emirates money (although thats maybe just like in the BWIN money and was already factored in) 4.5 million for Storai and his wages , whatever Palermo gave for Darmian.I know that there is not 50 or 60 million but I do find it hard to believe that there is no money.

Galliani and Berlusconi and Berlus c**t of a daughter said players must leave or we must sell before we can sign someone , Dida -gone Favalli- gone Storari sold (FOR MONEY) gone.So I thought maybe now we will actually sign a resonable priced player who will add to the team....Ameli , Yepes maybe Mancini and 3 young guys one who is 22 and has never playerd , the other 2 may be good but will be playing primavera.

Its not the end of the world obviously but its hugely disappointing . We have young players who will just go into the first team sit on the bench and never play.I honestly do not see us finishing in the champion league places next season.I think Inter Roma will , Juve really should and one of Samp , Palermo and Napoli are better position than us.

Its just down to squad depth , 4 years ago we could of won everything with this team but not now.And added the inevitable loss of Nesta and Pato to Injury the lack of motivation for Dinho and the age and fitness of Pirlo Seedorf Ambro Zambrotta, the uncertainess of Abate Antonini Bonera Abbiatti Amelia , the baffling mediocrity of Huntelaar and Oddo Janku Kaladze Inzaghi our squad is not well positioned. As I said 4 or 5 years ago it would of been and was a great squad but how there was no slowly weaning out of the older players and a few signings year by year is ridiculous.

I'm not too bad thanks mate, just looking for a new job so i thought while i have some spare time on my hands i'll come back and annoy everyone :D

I wonder what's taking Juventus so long to sign Krasic? I still think if we went in there with a determined offer he'd join us (much like how we waited for Ibrahimovic and he went off to Inter).

Speaking of strikers, what do people think of us signing Eder? I don't know much about him other than he was top scorer in Serie B last season. Can he make the jump up?

As for Van der Wiel, i think he's off to Bayern so i guess we can forget about him. Coentrao is still a possibility but i guess after his successful world cup, Benfica will want to keep hold of him.

Well Jay, people have different view on the situation...I myself agree with you that money is tight, most probably will end up with nothing, but on the other hand i do believe with some smart moves mgm can make a good mercato.

Have in mind that both Robinho and Ibra are for sale, both of them want out..that fact alone gives us the right ti believe that we can get them. Not at the moment, but if we sell Dinho and Hunter which is not that unlikely, than we can compete for Ibra and maybe get Robinho on loan with the option to buy next season. this is doable even for our situation(read no money).

Dinho + Hunter + Sotari+ wages can finance Ibra(even better if Barca agrees to 3-4 years payment) plus don`t forget that Dida`s wage is half of what Ibra would ask.

One more thing, I`m sure that if we had last year 15 mil to spend on Hunter, now we have at least the same amount of money, taking in consideration that we play CL and we have a new sponsor. So IMO Robinho is very valid option.

maybe the club are the ones who told him to go find a buyer :diablo: there will be no way in hell Galliani will let R80 go for free...not after coming off a great season.. not whilst he is still 29 (relatively young for Milan).... we will definitely look to get at least 10m euro, at least... plus free'ing his 8m a year wages for his last two years = 16m. That's 26m saved that could be used for a player like Dzeko.

One thing we always seem to forget, we have no clue what the Milan management are thinking and planning, and if they sign someone it will come out of the blue (onyewu, amelia) etc... All we can do is just wait and be patient I guess..

maybe the club are the ones who told him to go find a buyer :diablo: there will be no way in hell Galliani will let R80 go for free...not after coming off a great season.. not whilst he is still 29 (relatively young for Milan).... we will definitely look to get at least 10m euro, at least... plus free'ing his 8m a year wages for his last two years = 16m. That's 26m saved that could be used for a player like Dzeko.

If I'm not wrong, Ronaldinho didn't get any new contract, so it will end in June 2011 (one year).

http://www.calciomercato.com/mercato/milan-tradimento-ronaldinho-ha-detto-si-al-flamengo

In this article, they say that Ronaldinho has agreed to join Flamengo, but not now.
His contract would have an option, a free release clause for January 2011. If that's true, it's probably one of the most stupid things the management did: putting a free release option in the contract and then not renewing it to keep pressure on the player in his last year of contract, which means they forgot the free release option.

Let's wait and see, but I think something's going to happen with Ronaldinho in the next few days.

Koti, good to see you too my friend!

My job was only a contract and in marketing & communications for a government funding agency. So when the new gov over here came in, they set targets of a 25% cut in government costs in marketing so my position was one of the first to go. Shame it was a couple of weeks earlier as i could have watched all of the world cup at home! :D

Well Borriello is a 10 - 15 goal a season player nothing wrong with that but not an ideal player for your point of a 3 man attack.Pato is quality and hopefully can stay injusry free.Podolski great for Germany but has never even come close to that form at club level and he has scored 17 goals in the last 4 seasons at club level and has moved to a winger position where he has less assists....Id prefer to spend 12 million on someone else although the article did say that 12 million was too much for us..But if we don't get anyone else i'll take Podolski. But he isn't a prolific scorer and he isn't a guy that creates lots of goals either.

GeoTav, i'd be quite surprised if Suarez signs for Marseille as that's more of a sideways move if anything, but it'll be interesting to see how much he does go for.

Koti, i would be tempted to sell both Boriello & Huntelaar and bring in two new strikers. I'd also query Podolski as i don't think he'd make much impact here.

And when a player manages to do a good season or several good seasons in Ajax, he generally has open doors in big clubs, so I wouldn't understand his choice to go to Marseille if it had to happen !! :uhm:

-------------Borriello------------
-----Podolski---------Pato------

I think thats a step down, unless you get Dzeko to replace Borriello....I'd say sell Huntelaar and buy Dzeko, sell Dinho and buy Honda,...then play a 4-3-1-2

----------Antonini-----T. Silva--Nesta-----Van der Wiel-----

Sell Dinho, Sell Huntelaar, Sell Seedorf, Sell Kaladze and Jankulovski (if we can)

Subs: Borriello, Inzaghi, Verdi, Adiyiah, Strasser, Gattuso, Onyewu, Bonera, Abate, Zambrotta, Yepes

Good team! :p283::p283::p283::p283:

Why did we gave up on Hernanes so easily? He could play everywhere in midfield in Allegri's system.
Regarding Podolski, a big no from me, a player who couldn't get into Bayern's first 11, then he struggles to score in Koeln... no thanks.
If we eventually lose Ronaldinho, we need some superstar to lead this team, and Ibrahimovic only is up to that. Attack of Podolski, Pato and Borriello is not the way Allegri plays and it's ****ty attack, worse than last year. If Allegri knows what he's doing, we need an attacking midfielder who can chase and defend and who can run with the ball and make final pass. I think that will be Joe Cole. He has what's needed and he's free. Hleb is another option if Barca lets him on loan. Considering Lazzari is probably coming, midfield 4 would be set with Pirlo and Flamini and only other player I could see arriving is a side-back.
I think that's realistic target with 20 M budget + money for Ronaldinho and Huntelaar.

Jim, I think Juve are considering Dzeko too so Krasic isn't necessarily going now.

I read Milan are after Lucas Biglia who has been likened to Pirlo. I don't know much about him, other than he's Argentine and 24 and there are a few videos of him on youtube.

http://www.rossoneriblog.com/milan-eye-anderlechts-24-year-old-new-pirlo/

edit: I forgot to ask, Brasileiro, do you know much about a player called Bernardo Vieira de Souza (Bernado) who plays for Cruzeiro?

I read about him on milannews and apparently he looks very good.
Dev, I remember when this kid started to make a name in Brazil. Played some amazing games in youth teams, and was starting to get first team playing time at Cruzeiro.

First of all, I read some rumor yesterday in a site, and as always, they miss the point with clueless comparisons. Bernardo has nothing of "the new Pirlo" they said. He was more of a AMD in the games that I watched... can't understand where they found the Pirlo comparison...

Back to the point, this kid(if I'm not wrong) had a serious injure, and isn't playing for a long time. What appears to be a curse for Cruzeiro young and talented AMD's, as Kerlon had his career(and game) hurt by serious injures...

My opinion? I hope it's only a rumor. Despite be talented, I never saw Bernardo being the man in his short tenure as starter in Cruzeiro first team. Aslo, the kid still need more first team experience before the jump to a big in Europe... Jucilei, Giuliano, Hernanes, Ganso, Arouca, Neymar, Mario Fernandes are the type of player we need to look here in Brazil...

Btw, can't believe we paid 7 millions for youngsters(sure they can turn into stars in the future), and are letting a guy that would be a priority go to Napoli, PSG or other team because of money. Jucilei should a priority for us, even more for 8millions...

I've heard the rumour about Podolski. IMO, this is not a bad idea.

Poldi is versatile, but I think the best position for him is support striker. With a strong left, quite fast & skillful, good movement, he can creat chances for himself and help the team in attack. He is capable of passing & crossing, not so tall (1m80) but physically strong & tough. When the burden of scoring was on his shoulder, he failed, both at Köln and NT, but as second striker, he help his CF partner very well and even have some for himself (in the way Bayern play, they need prolific forwards than supporting type).

If we want Pato to become one of the world best CF, Poldi is a very good partner, maybe Ibra is better but he can be more useful than Borri in this job.

However, if only Poldi comes, the chance he fails again is very high because the lacking of supply. We need a very good ACM.

for example. This trio is quite interesting.

Regarding non-eu spots, is the following correct?

We get one automatically and then will get an extra one if Ronaldinho goes?

Also, as Luis Fabiano has been in Spain since 2005, would he still take up a non-eu spot or is that 5 year rule only an Italian thing?

I've also read a couple of things that have linked Robinho to us, but only very loosely.

thanks for your opinion Brasileiro. It's difficult to say who we can get from Non-EU this summer. Personally, my real hope is one of Ganso or Jucilei (depending on our needs), though it looks unlikely at this point.

As for our other rumours, Ibra again tipped to replace Dinho, which is fair though I fear how much we'll spend elsewhere if we get Ibra. That said, Berlu is apparently prepared to block the move for Dinho.

Papastathopoulos of Genoa has been again linked to us. Previously it was said we wanted to give one of Janku or Kaladze in exchange, but our failure to get rid of them means Strasser could be included in the deal (presumably on loan or co-ownership).

Fossati has made his first comments since rejoining Milan and has said he hopes to play an important role in the club in the future.

Finally there are the rumours about Podolski as many know. Not a favourite for me, but certainly if he came he could be a useful option to have in the squad, maybe even as a starter if we can get the best out of him (he's talented but never lived up to expectations imo).

The president of Flamengo said that Ronaldinho can come only if Milan lets him leave for free ?! Isn't it from public knowledge that we need money ? :D

Anyway, isn't there any good or promising player in Flamengo who could play for us ? If there is, why not swapping Ronaldinho with 2 players from this club for example (with no money in the deal) ?

Both clubs could win from such a situation: Milan with a big salary cancelled and new players, Flamengo with a star player (who would surely play well there, I don't know why, a bit like Adriano, surely the fact of living in his country again, near his family, etc).

http://football-italia.net/jul02w.html

The Italian Football Federation have reduced the number of non-EU players Italian clubs can register each season from two to one, sparking outcry.

The move comes on the back of Italy's poor showing at the World Cup in South Africa and seeks to prioritise the development of homegrown players.

...

Lazio President Claudio Lotito is one of the first to condemn the ruling.

The Biancocelesti had deals lined up to sign two non-EU players this summer and will now have to shelve them, hindering their pre-season.

“This decision penalises some Serie A clubs who had table bids that now cannot be concluded,” Lotito said.

“Perhaps it was better to postpone the decision until the next transfer window [in January].

You're right, Codino...
Mario, Hernanes, Jucilei, Arouca are battle tested and can give us versatility too. I can't see us paying the money Santos would ask for Ganso or Neymar, and Internacional for Giuliano... Would be amazing one of these players, but our reality changed.

Regarding Mario, his ability to play in a high level at all defense positions is invaluable. Plus, has or can get a EU-passport.

It's 8 or 80 with us nowadays:stupid: We came from a team that only got veterans, to change for a team that is only spending in youth players. I'm really concerned about our CL spot next season.

You don't have money, ok... Even with only 2 non-EU spot, go for guys tested in professional teams, but with potential to be world class. But all I read is we are linked with middle players(without much potential) used to lead middle and small clubs from Serie A to nothing!!

I heard about that mate, but i thought it just applied to the amount of new non-eu players a team can register each season not the total amount. It's a big limitation if it's the latter! Which also means we can't buy any non-eu player as Ronaldinho currently has our non-eu spot :googly:

I assume buying non-eu players from within Italy still stays the same though?

No i don't think Italy has any limitation on the total number of non-EU players that the team can contain..the limitation is on the number of new non-EU players that you can sign in the year. Recently I believe you could have signed up to two new players providing you let one go..but with this rule you would only be allowed to sign one player period. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone..but I think that is how it works now.

its very sad for me to read Galliani's comments, we needed to sell to sign a player like Podolski...we dont have economic power to sign a 10 m euros player.its not easy to accept, thats not easy...

We signed a inter 20 years old Primavera player for 5 m Euros. Fossati and another player for 2 m euros. its normal becuz Fossati's contract with inter ends next season.

We are strengthing the Primaver and however using all money we have for there, and renewing crap, finished and very old players's contracts one more year. We linked with a Genoa player, a rotation defender at most...its not Milan's style...i could accept if we signed Krhin...we even cant sign Obi and Destro for that money...inter is very intelligent on the market.

Daminuta, 5 m euros player, loves partying, Ronaldinho wont be alone anymore, party, women, alcohol e.t.c. Fossati is called as next Pirlo by inter fans, inter has a great primavera, Krhin, Destro, Obi, Donati e.t.c. Cristeg...

if we have to sign inter youngsters, Please go and sign them Galliani Donati, Cristeg and Krhin.

Podolski is a good player yet i dont expect much from him as he can fail as well, very risky move. On that Germany formation, Everyone would play better and he did better than his normal season perfonmances. Muller and Basti are the players we should sign and add Oezil and Honda to them...

-Honda
-Mueller
-Basti
-Lahm
-Coentraro

------------------------Abbiati--------------------------
-Lahm-------Nesta-------------Silva------------Coentraro
---------------Flamini----------Basti---------------------
----------------------Honda-----------------------------
-Mueller------------Borriello------------------Pato--------

its all fantamercato, we have money yet we are using it stupidly...instead spending 7 m euros on primavera kids, go and sign Honda and strength the first team. They dont have any intention to strength the first team. we are fine as we are...it was always like this...

Van Der Wiel, honestly, first time i saw him at WC, i watched 2-3 games, also the WC final, he didnt impress me much, Offensively he is not good, at least he didnt convince me about it, he makes so many bad passes when he is on attack and this all returns with dangerous counters...Defensively he is good yet definetely he is not worth 17 m euros or more.

No to Podolski he is good in the national team but you cannot sell Huntelaar (even with a bad 1st season ) to buy a player who as a striker/winger has 17 goals in 4 years and less assists .Its clear that he is not a great goalscorer or provider at club level even with Bayern in Germany when they winning 4 5 6 7 -0 some games and winning the league by huge margins he couldnt hit double figures in goals.

I just do not see what he will add to our team , surely if Hunter and Dinho leave we can get more than Podolski , but the Kaka and Gorky left for alot more we balanced the books and a good bit of money and only got Hunter for 5 million over 3 years...and whatever Hunter goes for 5 of that will go to Madrid or 10.

Im still hoping to wake up or come home from work and login and BANG!!!! good signing , Im delighted that they at last are concentrating on youth but you cannot let your 1st team hit an average age of 35 while you do so , and even if 8 of them ( an enormous task by the way) you will still have to sign players.

They report that Dzeko refuses and said to his club to refuse all offers not coming from Milan.

If that's true, that's just amazing ... if it was confirmed, two thoughts come to my mind:
- respect to Dzeko, he must be as fan as us, or even more, to refuse everything just to have a chance to play in Milan
- sad for him and for the club that all happens nowadays and not 5-6 years ago because he would already be a Milan player

Is anyone else against the whole if Ronaldinho goes we'll try for Ibrahimovic thing? I know none of the Milan hierarchy have actually come out and said it but there are constant links. I just think that if we are going through a season of austerity then we should stick with it. Would it not be more beneficial if ronaldinho goes with the money we save on his wages to spend that money and a little more to try to get someone like ganso (who may command a high fee but not as high as ibrahimovic) is younger, will cost less in wages and will be a natural replacement? I just think if we have to put up with the whole "we want to rejuvinate, we want to balance our books" then we should do just that otherwise what was the reason in selling kaka in the 1st place. I know there were other reasons along with it (could have sold ronaldinho and saved on his wages and kept a model professional but.....). As much as I hate the fact we're not spending at the moment if it really is for the good of the club then so be it it just hints that the management have no real long term plan. I've always stuck by this management and still do as they have bought us a lot of success but they are starting to lose the faith of all fans. We can really only judge them at the end of August and I hope they will prove us wrong.

Ps Were Ronaldinho to be sold, I wouldn't be too upset. Think there are other players out there who can offer more effort.

reports in greece say that we agreed with genoa for papastathopoulos for 4,6mil,with a 4 year contract..it will be anounced tomorrow or the day after..although most of u know him from genoa,i am not true if u can apreciate him "correctly"..i ve seen him many times live too,i dont have much time right now,the only thing i am sure of,is that he has gr8 potential for a stopper, not an lb or rb as gasperini used him many times this year..he is really decent on man to man marking(just watch greese-argentina his marking on messi, where he played as a dmc btw)..i will write more, when the deal is official..

ps i think a dinho-ibra "swap" would be ideal, due to i dont trust dinho's motivation at all,and because it would be cool to see ibra-pato together on serie a..

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Edin Dzeko has said that he either joins Milan or stays at Wolfsburg. I know that doesn't mean that he'll actually join us, but at least we won't have to see him in a Juve shirt...

Thanks, I spotted this a few days ago. It is the only transfer we seem to be making a real effort on. I have seen him, and it would be a refreshing departure from our current scouting.

In today's world, it is all about money, if Real offers him 8 mil a season, he will be there

I think it will more likely mean he won't be playing for another Serie A team.

I was gonna suggest 'Papi' but someone in the club might not like it.

They call him the "Big Papa..." I would be very happy if this guy came in, probably on loan like Amelia.. Very versatile defender.

Not so keen on seeing Abate going the other way though. And I am not quite sure if Genoa will be stupid enough to accept Kala or Oddo in the deal !

Galliani also hints that a Hunterlaar move to the EPL is realistic now, and that Podolski should arrive if Hunter leaves..... Podolski is like Hunter in many ways, and has failed in the past to perform at the highest club level. Yet his international performances suggest he is worth buying. Bad club form will keep his price realistic!

Probably we could get both Dzeko and Podolski for the same price+wages as Ibrahimovic so I'd rather have them. They would probably fit into our wage-structure. Seems like maybe Huntelaar is off too, so we'll have some more money there. With Ronaldinho gone then we could have this:

Podolski - Dzeko - Pato

I would approve that attacking combination. With Borriello as backup as he's not good enough to be our 1st choice striker.

Midfield, Midfield, Midfield.

A STRONG MIDFIELD is what Milan needs more than anything at the moment.

Why r u guys so sure that selling Hunter and Dinho means Podolski and Dzeko. I for one think that even selling them, Milan will not sign anyone who is good enough to replace them. As if Podolski is really 12Mil, a lot of teams will be sending in offers. The only way for Milan to have a solid season is Pato, Nesta, T. Silva and Borreillo staying injury free for most of the season and the continue improvement from Abate and Antonini along with those newly promoted youths.

It will surely be difficult (not to say impossible) to find an "assist maker" like Ronaldinho was last season, but depending on the chosen formation by Allegri, the replacement could be as good.

About Huntelaar, a replacement can't be worse, I mean, Huntelaar didn't have a great season here, he was often on the bench, he didn't show a lot of things, so even a decent replacement could do as well (staying on the bench) ... :D

And I am still hoping to come home, open the door and BANG! Megan Fox is naked in my bed. It is fun to think about it, but sooner or later, we have to accept the reality that it is just not gonna happen.

Happened me last week oddly enough came home Megan is a Fox lying on my bed I personally was delighted , my girlfriend was furious .

Yeah I wouldnt imagine that if Huntelaar and Dinho leave all the $$$ will be spent I mean didnt we sign Hunter for 15 million over 3 seasons so we still owe Madrid 10 million ??? or 5 this year and 5 next.

Reports that Insua has joined the Viola for 5 million .And Sammi Khedeira will sign for Real Madrid.

Reading about Liverpool and how Hodgson wants the core of the team to be English and geeting rid of alot of the foreign players my god they may be worse...lol....happy for that.

Will Allegri actually play 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 , Im not sure about Ibra either the money although Barca would take a deal split over 4 years , if we signed Ganso Honda and a def those clubs wouldnt accept the deal over 4 years they would most likely want all the money now or half now half next year.

Kala Janku and Rino have to go now while we still can get money for them .

We may still have hope of Dzeko if Ronaldinho goes and Hunter can be exchanged in the deal....finger crossed.

Napoli sign Cavani for 16 million ...that i did not expect a real shocker.

Dzeko's desire to join Milan and we can't do anything about it (while he seems to be the ideal striker for us) is very embarassing...however if his price doesn't reach 20m then I would agree with Milan, he is not worth it.

Papa (22) is a good defender (as good as Bonera), but he will never be a starter here in Milan. He will have a role similar to Kaladze's. Maybe for one season one of the defenders gets a serious injury, then he will step in. That being said, Milan are rumored to wanting to loan him and buy him for 7m. That price is very expensive for a squad player, especially considering our low budget. 7m can be used to buy a player like Jucilei who would in all likeliness walk into the starting lineup.

There's a big article about Berlusconi on Milannews, does anyone know what it says? Talks about the budget, R80 and Gazprom's interest.

Gattuso's agent said that Rino wants to play regularly and doesn't want to spend another season on the bench. He wants to speak to Allegri and then make a decision (I am optimistic that we can get rid of this 1 useless player at least). His replacement is rumored to be Lazzari. Olympiakos and Al-Ahly are linked with Rino.

Zico (Flamengo's coach): Ronaldinho coming here is a dream. I have only spoken to his agent a very long time ago but I was not present for the two meetings with the president. Surely, he can only come if Milan release him on a free contract.

Lazzari: "Allegri is a suitable coach for a big club, he makes the players feel less pressure even in a very demanding field (like Serie A). I think I can do well in a big club."

Napoli pull off a surprised and sign Cavani. It must have cost a lot because Zamparini was asking for quite the some. I really really don't like Cavani and think he is very over rated. I feel bad for Napoli who really deserve a world class team and Cavani is a step down in my opinion. With that money they could have bought so many other betters options like Podolski or Huntelaar.

Cavani cost 16 million , and there is no way in hell that we will just simply release Ronaldinho thats 110% certain , I think 25 million huntelaar would get Dzeko but damnit thats too much close to 40 million and when you see Villa only 28 going for a little over 30 million its not right I know he is younger but not 10 million better and actually don't wolfsburg want 50 now.

Oh yeah I agree Cavani is overrated doesnt score alot or create alot maybe he'll get better and judging him unfairly but I do not see much in him to justify the hype and high price tag.

Okay do we have to forget everything again we are in debt already without spending a cent http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2010/07/15/2026330/milan-president-silvio-berlusconi-warns-spending-on

Totally agree with Gabriel's comments about a strong midfield, you can't underestimate how important that is to us.

It's unfortunate but the majority of our midfield/attacking players just don't cut it in terms of graft and effort, only Flamini can really be counted here. Gattuso & Ambrosini have the desire but their legs can't do it anymore, not for 90 mins anyway. Pirlo is far too soft to be at the base of our midfield, it's time he was moved further forward. Seedorf & Ronaldinho just don't do anything full stop.

We all know the names of the players around who could do a job for us, but we won't get far without some new legs for our team's engine.

About that, some officials of Milan said Ronaldinho has no agreement with any club and that the only real and interesting offer they received comes from the USA. It seems Olympiakos also made a big offer for him but it was refused by Ronaldinho (from what I read, then, is it true ? No way to know).

Papastathoupulos :D seems more and more likely to join us (http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan/?action=read&idnet=bWlsYW5uZXdzLml0LTI5ODQ4).

They also report on the same website that if Gattuso leaves (Olympiakos), they will get Lazzari as Allegri really wants him in Milan.

Adiyiah should go on loan (offers from Germany and England).

Damn, I missed your post and wrote the same news (with less details :D).

About Dzeko, it is reported that he gave a kind of ultimatum to Milan: he will refuse everything during 7 days if it doesn't come from Milan, then, he will take into consideration other offers.

yeah Geo, but seriously, Hunter can take Napoli a step up if he finds his form, Cavani can't.

Fucile, Uruguay's RB (or LB?), (alot of members here like him) said that he would like to move to Italy.

I don't think he has an EU passport so it will make the move very difficult.

Well, maybe he would allow them to step up, and while I think it's what needs Serie A, is it what we need and want as Milan fans, another potential rival ?
