Gilardino has to understand that he is not a palyer that is worth 4 mln per year anymore. His real walue Is 1.5 mln as Viola pays.

Im sure Gila is off from Rossoneri and Im glad that will happen.

Now I feel really sorry we missed on Marcelo ( Madrid) as Brasiliero was really right when he said that boy will be something special at the LB spot. And he is becoming just that. Also Lucas who is still to play as well as he can for L'pool.

Sagnol - Oddo switch seems ok. Aldough Im not sure Klinsmann is blind... :)

Would bea real shame to see such a great player only 2 seasons back retire early.

Anyone else think Vargas could play in this position?

Oddo -- Nesta -- Zapata -- Zambrotta
----- Flamini --- Pirlo --- Vargas -----

He could be good there, he has the stamina for it and a good shot on him.

Vargas plays for catania , and he is tearing the left flank and makes life miserable to any right back and the defensive midfielders honestly i would pay 20 m to get him is essential to our squad more than any one else ... his crosses are really amazing , shooting ability , he can be a watch dog also . he played every possible position on the left and that would be a very smart move to get him, forget any target and starting getting this one if milan want to gets old serghino days they must sign vargas

but i still think we need to sign:

1 - keeper (Lloris or Frey)
2 - a fullback or two
3 - A CB (Mexes or Zapata or maybe even Barzaghi)
4 - A Utility player, like what hagreaves is, a player that can play in any position (like Bodmer of lyon)
5 - A Creative Midfield player (R10, seems to be the favourite)
7 - A striker or two.
8 - A wonderkid, could also be signed

remember we are going to be losing many players
1 - Cafu
2 - Simic
3 - Dida
4 - Brocchi
5 - Maybe Gourcuff
6 - Gila
7 - maybe even oddo,as recently he has been in rumours
8 - maybe Maldini
9 - Emerson
10 - Serginho
11 - maybe, but hopefully not, Gattuso
12 - Ronaldo

I agree....

...and people(few) was mocking and bashing me here when I said that Marcelo would be amazing, mrki. :rollani:
I saw the begining of Roberto Carlos career, and as I said in the past, Marcelo has everything to be a better player. I realy can´t remember a fullback with the skills of Marcelo since I started to watch football...the boy have the drible skills of Robinho!!! And like Daniel Alves when cames to Sevilla, has everything to be good in defence also...talent + work ethic + character is a sure bet.

Now what hurt is that our managment(Galiani with Kaká´s father, the title of a thread here in MM) was here in Brazil to watch Marcelo to play live and the boy delivered in that game...and that was before any Real Madrid manager came here. The coach that promoved him to Fluminese first team said for everyone here in Brazil, that only when he trained Kaká, he had the sensation of have a phenomenon in his hands...this is a compliment for any player, and even more for a fullback.

To be fair, Marcelo would be bought by the Sevilla after that, but when they(R. Madrid) had known Monchi(Sevilla scout director) was after Marcelo also, Real Madrid puchase the boy for only 8 Mill euros even against Capello will and they ignorance about Marcelo as a player...now they have(IMO) the best LB produced in Brazil in 20 years, and for just 8mill...talk about luck.

Lucas is another great example...and a example with italian passport.

Regarding Gilla, and after I read that Inter is purchasing Aquilani, I realy hope we can send Gila + money for him. It would be better than Gilla + money for Amauri or Frei...

Year on year the EPL is getting better defensively by buying better players from abroad with all that SKY money and finally learning how to defend better as a team in Europe has seen them get further in Europe.

I had my doubts a few years ago on whether Torres could play in Serie A having been used to Spanish defending :p but he seems to keep stepping up his game.

Goal.com
Gattuso’s future at Milan has been uncertain for a number of weeks now, with the Italian press speculating that he will quit the club in the summer for a new challenge abroad.

A number of big European clubs have been linked with the 30-year-old, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, but it is Bayern Munich who had really made their interest known.

Yesterday it was reported in the media that the Bavarian giants had drawn up a huge contract offer for Gattuso.

Controcampo now says that the midfield hardman has accepted these terms, and he will sign a four-year contract at the club worth just under €5.5m-a-season.

All that remains now is for Bayern and Milan to agree on a transfer fee, with the Rossoneri said to be demanding at least €12.5m.

Milan have accepted that there is no chance of persuading Gattuso to stay, although they may ask for a cherry in the deal, in the form of French full back Willy Sagnol.

Sagnol has had a miserable season at the Allianz Arena, having fallen out with Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, and like Gattuso, may seek a new challenge following eight years in Germany.

Bronzetti: Milan Should Buy From Valencia

Milan’s transfer consultant and super agent, Ernesto Bronzetti, claims that the Rossoneri's bid for Ronaldinho may be over and they should also look elsewhere for reinforcements.

It seems highly unlikely that the Brazilian playmaker will end up at San Siro following Silvio Berlusconi’s comments last week where the former Milan chief claimed that the Rossoneri didn’t need ‘Dinho.

Bronzetti has backed this up but he insists that there maybe be other arrivals from Spain.

“They say that the transfer of Ronaldinho to Milan is off? Well, to be honest I don’t know, it might be” said Bronzetti.

“There are many young players in Spain who are potential targets.

“Look at Valencia for example, they will need to sell up following a poor season and they may be forced to get rid of some of their prized assets.”

Valencia have a squad full of great players such as Joaquin and David Villa but it remains to be seen whether Los Che put them up on the market. Milan are on course for the Champions League and they will be looking to conquer Europe next season following the disappointment this term and thus they will
need to reinforce their squad with some new talent.

I remember this, kris...and as I said, few(2) people was mocking me at that time.

You´re right, Marcelo didn´t play in a position really needed in that time...but as i wrote in another thread, one thing we need to learn with Inter. Even if the position isn´t a priority right now(and the price is fair), we can not let a talent like of Marcelo level scape in the future...

Imo, we need to do what Inter did with Julio Cesar and Maxwell. To buy, and then loan to another italian club...if they delivered(like Inter duo) great.

If the Gattuso rumour is right, is one more reason to try a Gilla+money trade with Roma.

Many major rumours everywhere today, most provide little answer to what will happen in the future.

Gomes of PSV looks a possibility after he apparently became our number 1 choice to replace Dida (goal.com). Can’t say I would mind him, he’s a good keeper (a fan favourite at PSV) with a pretty long future ahead of him (he’s 26yrs old).

The Ronaldinho transfer looks less and less likely if we are to believe Berlu and Galliani. Bronzetti is playing ignorant now (goal.com), saying “if they [Berlu and Galliani] say it’s off, maybe it is”. He’s also said that there are many good players in Spain, mostly from Valencia who need to sell.

However, then there are the other rumours coming from Dinho’s side of things (goal.com), with his party last Monday where he apparently said he’s coming to Milan and the rumours today of him speaking in Italian to people at the club. What to believe, I don’t know, but this transfer saga is getting pretty annoying now.

Vargas has again been mentioned with our name (goal.com) where it says 3 Spanish and 3 English clubs are vying for his signature. Catania seems keen to sell to Italian teams though.

Then there’s the ongoing Amauri saga, with which Juve fans are probably as fed up of as Milan fans with Dinho. Apparently, amid rumours yesterday, Juve are still interested in him and Secco (the clown) may be willing to part with half of Giovinco in a co-ownership (in another of his clownish moves). On our part, apparently Braida has met Palermo officials to discuss Amauri and Simplicio over dinner, with apparently a swap with Borriello on the cards. This is after Palermo apparently said they would only talk to Juve. Amauri himself has been talking, but has revealed no more since he said he would like to play half a season in Milan and half in Juve. Now he’s said he may stay at Palermo, only later to say that he doesn’t know where he’ll be next season, but that he only knows he’ll play CL (meaning he won’t stay at Palermo after all). Somehow I get the impression that Amauri’s trying to be clever and leaving his options open (should Milan qualify go to Milan, or try to convince Juve to up their salary by saying he’ll stay at Palermo). Only problem is, he’s made himself to look pretty foolish with contradictions. As for Simplicio, he’d be a good squad player to have, technically sound and tactically aware. He had a big future in Serie A a couple of years ago when at Parma (when Sacchi said we should buy him), but has since disappeared a little. (all courtesy of goal.com)

Finally, Mexes isn’t coming to Milan according Galliani (tribal).

Missed one, goal.com says that Dida may have his contract terminated and leave with us paying 16m euros. It would make more sense to sell him, surely someone will be willing to buy.

I seem to be lost..Vargas...who is he again, and which team does he currently play for?

Forgive me, but I dont know who he is.....:dontkn: :sigh:

Warro, Vargas is a Peruvian International and probably the best LB in Serie A this season. He plays for Catania and is known as El Loco, is good defensively and a massive threat going forward, with good running and ability to run at defenders and an excellent cross. He has a lethal left foot and his shots are well known for power. He’s often compared to Roberto Carlos.

Against us, he’s always been a major problem for us all year, both in Serie A and the Coppa. If I remember correctly, against us he scored a great left foot volley and provided a perfect cross for a teammate to score.

I rate him as a shotstopper extraorinaire, as proven over our many matches in the UCL vs PSV...and if he can be trained to improve his perception of/reactions to crosses...then we will have a keeper who IMO would b world class.

What can make Gattuso leave Milan is the need of new challange IMO. But I doubt he lacks of challenge. There is thing that can make football players keep motivated : Champions League. Players can be bored of winning the leauge but not the CL. He cant find other clubs like Milan who treat their players so well and also make their marks in CL every year.

Gattuso wont leave for money. Milan dont underpay their players. Bayern cant offer better than Milan. Maybe Bayern can offer more wages to Gattuso but the difference wont be so significant. Players wont leave because of small difference in wages if his club have more tradition, chance to win the CL, better environment, etc.

What Gattuso needs is competition to fight a spot in the line-up. His position is very safe in Milan especially when Carlo use 2 real DM in the formation. With Flamini in Milan, Gattuso will have competitor. And I am sure this will make Gattuso play better than what we've seen this year.

Since bayern are desperately working towards Gattuso why cant we include Lucio and Lahm/sagnol in the deal put giving them few cash. I think this will be the best deal for us. If Lucio is about to leave, there will be a big competition after his signature from clubs like Chlesea, Man U, Baca, Real, Inter, Juve, etc. This is the best way without competion to get his signature. He would be the best in that position.

It's why I don't want him: putting Dida out to take Gomes has no sense ...
The last rumour is that Dida would cancel his contract for 5.5M € (if I have understood the report): he had a contract of 4M €/year until 2011 so we would have had to pay him 4*3=12M € ...

Bayern cant do nothing for Rino deal unless Galliani agrees to sell him, Rino has 3 more contract years with the Diavolo :) And those contracts are hard to break off...

Milan needs to keep Gattuso or we didnt do anything with Flamini deal except for exchanging one of the worlds best DM's with an excellent one and a bit younger. To have more QUALITY players is our need, so that players like Brocchi, Emerson can stay at home more oftenly.

Motivation? Firstly, a job is a job. And secondly, Berlusconi should motivate players by actuallysigning somebody so that players like KAka', Rino, Pirlo, Nesta have someone to play alongside! Start with Ronaldinho! :)

They can offer more, cuz they wont to lure the player from our team, thats normal thing to do. (flamini case)

Dont get fooled by the size of the german league. Bayern is in a league of its one. After their worst season ever, where they missed on CL(read A lot of money) they went and bought RIbery,Tony and Klose, two of which we could not afford after CL victory.

With regard to the value of Gattuso, Bayern than must offer more than Milan buat I am sure the difference what Milan and Bayern offer wont be significant.

I am not sure if TV rights, tickets and marketing of Milan are better than Bayern. I've read about the CL's TV rights that german clubs earn more money than other club. I dont know why but that's the fact I read.

About tickets, it seems here in Germany that the stadiums are always/often full like in England but I've no facts about this. But we've also to look at the money from the tickets from both clubs in one season.

About the marketing I have no idea.

As for the second part, we rejected both Rebiry and Tony not couldn't afford (at least according to what I read on the news) and BTW I did not say that we must be richer than them but at shouldn't be poorer.

So...Amauri, Adebayor or Drogba are the three CFs we're linked with today (channel4).....hmmmm...can't say I dislike any of these guys, but each has an advantage:

Adebayor: young, good box player, strong, good in the air, UCL experience...

Drogba: experienced, strong, good finisher, UCL experience, not bad in the air...

Amauri: young, excellent player in and out of the box, good in the air, good shot, Serie A experience....

A lot of positives for each, with few negatives as well.

Couldn't complain really if we were to get one of the three....

Never a fan of Adebayor as he reminds me too much of Anelka. Not playing wise but attitude and only excel under Wenger.

Drogba is the MAN at the moment and I think he is a complete striker, and probably the only striker in my book that can come close to the last complete striker-Batigol.

Amauri, lack of finishing skills reminds me of Gila.

exactly. I don't like him. Of those three, I'd go for Drogba, (although a bit old, he is maybe the best striker in the world at this moment), Adebayor (not proven enough, and I somehow believe that he is good only under Wenger (Henry/Anelka)), and I believe Gila is better than Amauri, so we don't really need the Brazilian.

I think Drogba only has another 1/2 good seasons left in him, Amauri reminds me of Gilla and Adebayor needs 5 chances to score 1 goal.

Should really look to other alternatives.

I can't wait for this season to be over. We have had plenty of chances given to us by Fiorentina, but we blew them all. Frankly speaking, we really don't deserve to be in the champions league, not with this team playing like this. Our defense hasn't been reliable for a couple of years now and our offense hasn't been the same since Shevchenko bounced for Chelsea. If we keep getting what we wanted (getting in the CL), our management will just sit back and refuse to work hard on bringing in new players again, just like how they started talking about how we are world champions right after we beat Inter. Hopefully, this season will teach them a lesson hard enough not to mess with the golden rule of soccer "no investment, no reward."

If Mourinho comes, I will only be happy if he' willing to adapt, and play football the Milan way. Because aside from his cautious style of play, he is one of the best man managers in the world. If he comes, at the very most we will win trophies and at the very least, if we lose, we will lose after giving it our all and fighting. Aside from Gattuso, I feel sometimes the rest of our players need a bit of a kick in the backside sometimes.....hmmmm, which makes me think, what will happen to "jogging" Seedorf if Mourinho is our next manager? :)

Milan and Palermo are near at the Agreement for Amauri. The rossoneri offers 15 million euro and some interesting youngsters like Abbate and Marzoratti now to the empoli, against the 10 milion euros plus Nocerino and Lanzafame proposal from Juve, that seems surpassed. Milan has the advantage in the negotiation for the clinging Brazilian, that would perceive 4 millions to season. (Gazette of the Sport)

Other steps before the negotiation with Juve, Amauri confirms them. Zamparini: "The Milan is alone a hypothesis". Ranieri: "Chosen because it is an intelligent boy". Today the CdA bianconero will decide on the hiring of the bomber. (Tuttosport)

Are we giving them Abate & Marzoratti or just loaning them to Palermo? I'd be disappointed if we just handed those two over, especially after Abate was a major threat against us when we played Empoli in Empoli. He would have been a good squad player for us.

Still at 15 million euros, that's a good price and would surely leave us enough money to get Gomez as well?

I dont know Jim wich is the offer about Abate and Marzoratti.
I think it is no loan but a transfer plus the 15m.
I think also is a good price for such a talanted player.Plus we have Gila+Oliveira where we can get a lot of money from them.
If next year we gonna have Amauri,Gomez,Pato,Pipo i think our attack would be fine.

Amauri is really overated. If were getting Borriello back i dont see the point in Amauri. And at the age of 28 i still would prefer Toni at 31.

Even if we get Borrielo back we still need one more excellent striker. Marco might score many goals this season, but the situation won't be the same next year, people will expect a lot from him. The same thing applies with Pato, the second year is always more difficult than the first one. But people can excuse him as he's still very young.

But not with Borriello, he's on the mature age as a footballer. Next year we will decide if he can play for such a big and demanding club like Milan. If he fails to score regularly they will start comparing him with Igor Protti. If he somehow is able to be a starter and play like an average striker then the media will label him the new Gilardino. The pressure is sky high and considering how he handle it two years ago (i.e. by using drugs, though I doubt that he'll do the same mistake again) we must find another reliable signing to share the burden.

Gabriel489

Amauri is over-rated. And for 15Mil +Marza + Abate and 4M a year contract, Milan can get guys like Gomez or Toni for sure.

Just b/c we lost a game and might miss CL, we should not offer the world for second rate strikers like Amauri. After all, b4 the derby, we all thought we will play for UEFA anyway.

One more thing, if we are really doing that much for Amauri then Barcelona has every right to ask us 40M for Dinho and Zambrotta.

I know what I said about Amauri might offend people and I really hope I will eat words for next year today, but I really think it is abit much for someone who scored only 8 goals this year.

A few rumours today, most of which have been covered here. The first is Amauri apparently coming close to joining Milan (Gazzetta), after the Juve negotiations are continuing on and still little progress in them. Juve offer Palermo 10m euros plus Nocerino and Lanzafame, Milan 15 and Marzoratti and Abate. Though I would be happy with Amauri (it wouldn’t be shocking if he pulls a Luca Toni and suddenly explodes next season), it’ll be disappointing to lose two young players in our Empoli boys. However, though both are impressing at Empoli, I can’t ever see either reaching the very top in football or coming back to Milan anytime soon. Marzoratti is fully owned by Milan, whilst Abate is co-ownership, so I presume we’d only give half of Abate and Marzoratti completely. Altogether, I think that would probably add up to around 20m euros, not a particularly bad price for one of the most wanted forwards in the world.

Some people here have suggested we try to get both Amauri and Gomez (18 goals in 24 appearances this season in the league). Although a dream strikeforce (Pato, Pippo, Gomez, Amauri and Paloschi), I can’t really see it happening. However, should the Dinho deal fall through (which at this point I’m thinking I wouldn’t mind so we don’t waste time negotiating over Dinho and worrying over his fitness), then I guess it’s not impossible to see this.

Zambrotta spoke after Barca’s most recent loss (goal.com). However, when quizzed about leaving or Milan he kept his lips tightly shut, simply saying he’s looking to end this season which is horrible and only then think about moving.

Finally, Dida may be willing to terminate his contract (which would mean Milan don’t pay ridiculous amounts to get rid of him) to move back to Brazil. This is from La Stampa.

edit: Gabriel, Amauri has scored 15 goals this season in 34 appearances.

GeoTav

Amauri is not, from my point of view, a world-class striker ... he is a very good one, not an excellent one.

Anyway, he could be a great addition to our team because he's the kind of striker we don't have (powerful, good head-playing). It's about the same for Borriello who is younger and half-owned by us ...

But again, they're not world-class strikers, not yet at least ...

Jim_UK
12-05-2008, 09:02
not that we were ever linked with him (don't think we were anyway), but Bosingwa has joined Chelsea for £16 million ... or there abouts.

They've finally got a decent rb after the flops that were Belletti & Ferrrrrrierrria ... guess that means they won't be going after Alves, unless they push one of them to right wing (which i doubt).

Amauri Close To Milan Move – Report

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Palermo have scrapped negotiations with Juventus to sell them Amauri, and the striker will now move to Milan instead.

Brazilian striker Amauri had seemed almost certain to sign for Juventus, however negotiations then hit a snag over two main points.

First of all the Bianconeri have refused to meet the 27-year-old’s €3.75m a season wages, only offering €3m.

Secondly both Juve and Palermo have failed to reach an agreement over the players who will be included in part exchange.

As a result, the Gazzetta says that Palermo are now ready to accept Milan’s far superior offer for Amauri.

Milan are willing to pay €15m, and also include Lino Marzorati and Ignazio Abate in the deal, both of whom are currently at Empoli this season, the former on loan, and the latter in a co-ownership deal.

Palermo are ready to accept this offer, as they look to finally close what has become something of a long drawn-out soap transfer saga.

Juventus meanwhile could be left disappointed at missing out yet again on a top transfer target to a close rival. However, if confirmed, club supporters may be more relieved by the news that Giovinco, who had been rumoured to be on his way to Palermo, looks likely to stay now.

So it seems they wont be giving the players in full ownership deals to Palermo - Marzorati on loan, which is good because Zaccardo is going so he could start there and a co-ownership for Abate - so we can get him back if he has a good season.

Gabriel489
12-05-2008, 10:27
Thanks, did not know Amauri scored 15 already.

As for what goal.com said, I believe it stated that status of the two players now instead of what will become of them. Personally, I think it is a bad deal and Milan should just pay the cash for Amauri.

If he is clever, he'll join Milan without looking how Milan are now. If Milan fail to get the spot to CL next year, there is another year. He is ?28? and still has time not only to participate in CL but also to lift up the CL's trophy. We are not other clubs who just participate in CL once in 5 years or so.

mrki, it's boring ... always the same comments about Ancelotti that you hate, about Galliani and Berlu.

Will you never think that some of the players from our first team can be responsible too (Dida, Oddo, Janku, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka', Gila, 8 players from our first team at the start of the season who were in poor form during almost all this season) ?

Also, don't you think that supporters like you (not you especially, you're too far from Milan, but the ones who think like you and go to the stadium to whistle our own team) have a part of responsability too ?

And why is it boring ? Simply because there is still one match, it's not over, we can win and Fiorentina draw/lose, and so we would be qualified for the next CL, but no, for you, it's over, we won't qualify, whatever happens ...

And to finish, if the 8 players (umh, not the 8, Dida will leave for sure, and Gila, if he stays, will be our 3rd/4th striker, so 6 players) play again at their logical level, not the highest like Kaka'/Pirlo last year, just their real level, do you think we will need 15 recruies ?

Just think about what you're writing about and the reasons of our failure this year in CL/Serie A (even if we are 4th, it'll be a failure) ...

GeoTav

For the article, it's not written that Pato will be sold or anything else, it is said they will discuss how to manage him, that would mean that Berlu doesn't like the current management of Ancelotti with Pato.

Anyway, it's only newspapers ****, last week, after our victory against Inter, we were again a very good team with few recruies needed, and now, we are an horrible team with many players leaving, that has no sense ...

Gattuso’s club season with the Rossoneri is already over as the yellow card he received in Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Napoli means he will be suspended for the final match of the campaign this Sunday against Udinese.

Controcampo says that the game against Napoli will prove to be his last-ever in a Milan shirt, as a summer transfer to Bayern Munich has all but been agreed.

In accord with similar reports in the Italian press last week, Gattuso has agreed a four-year contract with the Bavarian giants, worth just over €5.5m-a-season.

The transfer fee has yet to be completely fixed, but both sides are prepared to settle on a sum of around €18.5m.

Gattuso has had a disappointing season at San Siro, and is keen for a fresh challenge abroad to reinvigorate his career.

The 30-year-old will hook up with Italy national team-mate Luca Toni, who has had a magnificent first year in Munich since his move from Fiorentina.

There are also reports that Bayern are looking to sign a third Italian, in the form of Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli.

Cech has denied that he is set to leave Stamford Bridge, after his agent claimed that a top European club were interested in signing him.

"Contrary to numerous press stories over the last couple of days, I would like to make it very clear to the Chelsea fans that I have no plans to leave the club," said the goalkeeper.

"I am very happy at Chelsea. I still have two years left on my contract and I believe the club will sit down with my representatives at the appropriate time to discuss an extension."

I dont really watch Celtic football, so i dont kno how good Boruc is, but i guess he may be fromt runner, and @ 28 he is still young. Lloris and Akinfeev are still my faavourits, but there age and experience may not make them the best options.

I think Amelia should also be under consideration as Livorno is going to be relegated, and his price may be low.

Well i think all of these might be a reason for him to go.
If Rino leaves it will be Galiani's,Carlos and finaly Berlu's fault.Rino loves Milan very much and if he wants to leave i don't think its about the better money from germany, but the fault moves from our managment wich have made our team in big crisis.
If Rino leaves i think that is a very differnet situation from the Sheva's situation.Sheva leaved us just for the money.

For the good of Milan before all the transfers or the big changes i think the best move for our team is to suck GALIANI.

And all our managment do is earn money for their pockets by lying, not buyinga and keeping coach that has no idea what to do simply becouse he listens to them.

I told you before that Boban wento to Milanello and talked to Maldini who confirmed to him that he would like to change things and that he in principle doesnt agree with this strategy. And that the atmosphere is too relaxed, guests walking around, family members and so on...

Pato?
"Starting from next season Kaká will play as a second striker. It's an excellent solution, but there can only be a striker in front of him. Inzaghi's doing well right now, so Pato has to alternate with him.

Does this mean we are going to play with one striker next season and Kaka as secunda punta? does this mean Pato is on the bench?

We seem to b getting mixed signals from mgmt in this regard....or from the media...or from wherever.

With the club facing a relatively unfamiliar scenario in not acheiving a UCL spot, almost everything is open to conjecture...including Carlo's tenure.

Plus I am not sure that this is Kaka's preferred position.

Regardless...a lot of our questions will be answered over the course of the summer...as if Donadoni does well with the Azurri, who knows? He may well lead us into the UEFA Cup, if he decides that winning the Euro title means he has reached the pinnacle of his international coaching career...and be replaced by Carletto...again if rumors are to be believed.

Maybe a lot of questions will be amswered this coming Sunday!

Lets say we made the CL, do u think Galli and Berlu will think the team is good enough, and it was just bad luck and injuries that costed us this season or will they really invest on players to strengthen the team.

From what I had been reading after the Inter game, I really think they believe the team is fine and only need fine tuning.

Quite frankly, I am really sick and tired of Milan losing and struggling to small teams on a weekly basics. On top of that, a lot of players really did not show heart and passion on the field over the past two seasons. And that is what bother me the most.

If (big if) we do make the CL, I would bet money on that they will talk about how we are world champions and doesn't need any major signings. Sooner or later, we all have to realize one thing about this Milan management, which is they do not have any long term plans for this team any more. This team is not built to stay on top for years to come but much rather to squeeze every single ounce of energy out of this current group of guys.

Look at Man Utd. They are putting Giggs, once the best winger in the entire world to being a part time player while we still rely on Serginho to produce for us in crunch times. Whether Man Utd does well or not, they are always injecting new blood into that team. They understand that no matter how good a team is, standing still will only make them worse. They invested in many young players, some of them worked out well (Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic) and some of them didn't (Kleberson, Djemba). They didn't put all of their eggs in one basket the way Milan management always do (Gourcuff, Pato) and it paid off for them. That is how you build a long lasting championship team. You have to sign plenty of young players because some of them just won't do well. In the meantime, you never ever think you are too good for more reinforcements. You can always get better because everyone around you are getting better all the time.

DIDIER DROGBA has stunned Chelsea by revealing: My dream is to play for AC Milan.

The striker’s confession comes just a week before the Blues play Manchester United in their first Champions League final.

But Moscow looks like being Drogba’s last game for Chelsea after he admitted meeting Milan legend Paolo Maldini and officials at the start of last term before daring them to buy him.

Drogba said: “All footballers dream of signing for AC Milan. I explained to Paolo Maldini that Milan is a club I would love to join.”

In his explosive autobiography, Drogba reveals he flew to Milan in a private jet.

Upon arrival, he bumped into Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani, who allegedly asked him ‘When would you like to play for Milan?’

Drogba replied: “Whenever you want, it’s all up to you — get the money ready and go see Chelsea.”

The next day, Galliani called Blues to make an offer.

GET HIM!!!!!!!

I also read a similar article, if not the same one, on channel4.com.

It brought to mind our fwd/striker situation, and what we need to do both in terms of sales as well as purchases.

This revelation means nothing ultimately, as his (ie Droba's) mind may have changed since that autobiog was written and published.

Let's assume though, that we do get him...

So currently we have: Pato, Gila, Pippo, R99, Oliviera on loan, and part ownership of Borriello.

R99 is not coming back (IMO), and neither is Oliviera (again, IMO)....combine the removal of R99's salary, with the $s we will get for Oliviera, and we should, on the face of it, b able to buy Drogba, especially since it seems he is set on leavin Chelski.

So: Pato, Drogba, Pippo, Boriello?

Personally, I would take Amauri over Boriello....but these are as the Chinese say: "interesting times", and a lot of things are possible before the window closes.

(Left out Paloschi because I see him on loan next term, if he is too old for the primavera)

not that we were ever linked with him (don't think we were anyway), but Bosingwa has joined Chelsea for £16 million ... or there abouts.

They've finally got a decent rb after the flops that were Belletti & Ferrrrrrierrria ... guess that means they won't be going after Alves, unless they push one of them to right wing (which i doubt).

Villa is a world class striker and Benzema would be also a world class striker.

those are all things coach needs to worry about, and when after 6/7 years you win 1 scudetto and you still have vote of confidence ( that goes to PLAYERS and coach ) you can say: " we are relaxed".

rinogattuso, this is the article you want, I think...

Ancelotti quells revolution

Carlo Ancelotti has silenced those who suggest a total revolution at Milan is needed, including a change of management.

The very likely failure to qualify for the Champions League is set to prompt a clear-out at San Siro with some suggesting current Italy boss Roberto Donadoni or Barcelona’s Frank Rijkaard as the next tactician.

“I will be on the bench again and I don’t think there will be a revolution of the squad, but there will be some necessary adjustments,” commented Ancelotti on 7 Gold television.

Much of their future depends on Sunday’s results, as the Rossoneri must beat Udinese and hope Fiorentina fail to win at Torino to recapture fourth place.

“We hope to reach the Champions League because it is very important for us. Clearly it doesn’t just depend on our efforts anymore, but we will do our duty to the end.”

Milan face Udinese without the suspended Gennaro Gattuso and Alessandro Nesta, but Andrea Pirlo returns from a ban.

And we want evolution in the team. In other words: development!
And I don't see how players in mid-30 and older can develop, not even mentioning players that reach their maximum.

So, bring the players that can evolute.
Alves, Benzema, Vargas, all fit the description :hmmm:

- Luis Fernandez revealed that Hugo Lloris was in Milanello (he is injured on one of his hands, so he is free for this end of season lol) and asked to Gourcuff if he saw him, he didn't want to answer lol ...

Carlo should get the players he wants, if he fails with this then we can consider a new coach. He wanted Toni and Ribery and look what happened....

Ancelotti's biggest problem isn't that he isn't good with the team but rather his attitude toward the management. This guy has got to be the biggest coward I have ever seen in my life. Every single summer, he doesn't get any of the players he want but he just sits there like a good puppy dog and say the BS management fed him to say. I am not saying he should have an all out war with the management Mourinho style, but having a little backhone certainly wouldnt hurt. For that reason, he should leave and let somebody who can deal with the management the right way take over.

Few owners have an ego as big as Berlu, and any coach, ANY coach who voices that sort of displeasure would be out of a job in a few days after making statements as you indicate slifsrd....c'mon bro....please understand this.

Now for one of the most ridiculous stories thus far re the mercato:

http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may15b.html

If ever there was a story channel4 should ignore, it should be this one.

Why would we trade the next symbol of the club, whose idea of a night on the town probably includes one glass of merlot, and bible study, for two party men who skip training more often than a 8yr old girl with a jump rope?

Gosh....the crap has really started already....and we can thank the Spanish "press" for this ridiculous rumor.

great point warro, i said the same thing many times...

I think that carlo loves his job so much that he is willing to take that crap from berlu and galliani just to stay at milan....

I totally understand him, it's a dream job...once you got it, you do your best to keep it!

And saying that you totally disagree with berlu is a sure way out od milan!

So the problem is not carlo, it's berlu.
If he decides to spend or not to spend big, no one can convince him otherwise. Except Mrs.Berlusconi. :D

The answer is here under....(tgcom)

If indeed Barca wants Kaka, this will be a better swap deal for Milan:
Puyol, Zambrotta, Eto, Deco and Rhino equal to Kaka plus 10 million. All those players wants to leave Barca and I believe Barca will be tempted to accept that swap deal.

julsesay, no, you're mad ?! lol
How can you say that ?

Kaka' won't leave, even if a club offers 200M € !!
Kaka', if he stays until the end of his career in Milan, has still, at least, 8-9 good years !!

All the guys you want to swap have
- Puyol: 3-4 good years
- Eto'o: 4-5 good years - injuries
- Deco: 2-3 good years - injuries
- Ronaldinho: 5-6 good years - parties - injuries
- Zambrotta: 2 good years maximum

And they all come from the same club, club that didn't win anything those last 2 years ... In that group, I would only take Puyol (I'm even not sure actually) or Zambrotta (not sure too) with Eto'o. But no way a swap with Kaka' !! lol

With Lloris coming, now we are sure we will have a real goalkeeper lol, we have played without a decent goalkeeper for 3-4 years ... what a change, we won't have to be afraid anymore of taking easy goals everytime !! lol

Flamini (free), Lloris (to confirm officially of course, price will be approximately 7M €), who are next ?

He looks like a tv goalie, pulling reflex saves off for the camera. Any videos of how he deals with crosses, corners and commanding of the box.

It would be nice if we can get a gk who can actually come and claim the ball again and calm defenders, rather than punch and more likely flap at the ball. :)

Maybe we can get Seba Rossi back again, super experienced and free right, perfect for us with our current transfer policy.

Great to know that Gourcuff has been loaned. Any idea whether it's to a french club or an Italian club? I hope they actually MONITOR him while he's on loan and not just leave him to rot. I agree 100% with this move...the guy was playing really well when he just came yet hasn't improved in two whole years. In fact he got worse! What's that about!? Nice management :rollani:

I'll definitely try to watch all his matches next year and see how he progesses. Now we need TWO creative midfielders...let's hope the management realize that and don't plan on making Seedorf start next year.

Gourcuff will be allowed to be loaned, but it's not done yet ...

In France, Lyon (not a good choice despite CL), Marseille (average except if Nasri goes, but a lot of pressure in that club and perhaps no CL next year), Bordeaux (excellent choice as Micoud will stop and Bordeaux will be in CL) and Lens (depends on their last match that will put them in Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 next year, no European cup).

Also, Lyon seems to have an agreement with Metz to buy Pjanic (7M €), that's sad ... he is/was typically the kind of young guy we could have bought for our bench.

Oh, Mystik, I've missed something: if Gourcuff goes in France, good luck to watch all his matches !! lol ... it's so boring.

Ok lets tackle the questions one at a time shall we? :D

I was just wondering, Carlo wants a player/players but the Big Bosses say no...for some silly reason as usual... Carlo gets fed up with not getting the players he wants and quits or get fired... a new coach comes and gets the same players that Carlo was denied... Then this will reviel many sides to the Milan Underworld... is every one with Carlo?

That I think is open to conjecture, even if:
a) He has himself said he will be there next season
b) Berlu and Galliani have also said it...

Why then is it still undecided? Because of several factors including:

a) The still undecided 4th place finish and
b) Donandoni and the Azzuri´s performance in the Euros

do they have faith in Carlo with managing these players? I think if Carlo remains next term we then have to see who in fact does arrive. Flamini´s arrival I am sure is some evidence that they do have faith in Carlo, and that Carlo is going to be there next term...

r they too good for Carlo He has managed some of the biggest names in the world of football...from Zidane to Kaka...I dont think this is an issue yuzzimi?

or some1 thinks its time for Carlo to go? If Berlu wanted Carlo out, he would be gone from the loss to Napoli, or from even earlier in the season. IMO Berlu considers the major objectives for this season met: European Super Cup and World Club Cup. I think as far as anything else is concerned, thats just "brawta" [gravy...or maybe icing for those non patois speakers]for Uncle Berlu.

Memba Berlu dont ramp fi fire managers who he dislikes, or considers underperforming, or both. Just ask Terim...who Ancelotti replaced, or Zaccaroni..aka Zaccerphony...who lasted an unbelievable 2 seasons, and I believe was replaced by Terim after Maldini´s dad did a short "interim manager" stint inbetween.

The long and short of it: There are no machinations going on IMO...Milan cannot be compared with Madrid, Barca, Inter or other clubs where there are always plots afoot, and power struggles going on...and great uncertainty.

In the fiefdom that is Milan, Berlu is all supreme, and rules with an iron fist in a velvet glove. Berlu has simply not spent much on the team, and has had mixed results from that...

There is no question that he understands that reinforcements are needed now, but he isnt at the Abramovitch stage of his career..where he thinks he has to spend 100M pounds every season to keep the side competitive.

He has seen Alex Ferg at Man U, and has stated publicly that he wants Carlo, or some other exMilan player to do something similar.

We will buy, but we will buy smart...and I think Carlo will stay, and R10, prob Drogba, Zambrotta, the French goalie mentioned, or Gomes, and a few other players will arrive, and we all pretty much know who will be going, either on loan, or to be sold.

zeen?

I like amelia, earlier on somewhere prolly on a page in the teens, i used to ask the same question, and i think amelia is a good keeper (i think italy produces the best keepers Toldo, Buffon for eg.), but he just isnt linked with us. It's why I say that, I don't know, I don't feel any current young goalkeeper will be the next big thing, the next Buffon or even better (who knows), but I will perhaps be surprise someday, I hope with Lloris ...

Obviously Buffon is currently the best GK in the world now and there's no doubt about it. I'm not comparing Buffon to any other GKs simply because they won't match. What I'm saying is Lloris is a perfect move for our team now, in terms of potential, and finance. IF he can move to Milan this summer I consider it a wise move after Flamini, much better than Drogba (if happens), or Amauori (if happens), and plus, he's fairly affordable now. Buffon can only last for another 3-4 years at high form, but Lloris can last for 13-14 years. Let's face reality, we can't buy Buffon now. Even if we can, I still prefer Lloris because in the next 3-4 years we won't have to worry about the GK position, not until papa Berlus die, which is 13-14 years later. That's called future investment :)

Edit: I'm quite confident about my sense. About 10 years ago, I saw Buffon played and I thought he would be the top GK in the world (although he didn't reach his current ability now at that time). A few years later, I saw Frey played and again I thought he would be one of the best GK in the world and now he has proven it. Looks like we should buy Parma's youth GK dept. :)

The way Buffon plays, I really doubt age is a factor. Buffon has great reflexes and reactions, but it is his positioning and smart that sets him apart from other goalies.

If you watch Buffon plays, he is rarely out of position and he does not allow huge rebounds.

GK like Dida for example relies heavily on reflexes and thats why once he gets older, they will decline.

I haven't really commented much in this thread for the past few days. Mostly there's not been a lot of news, another reason is I've had other things (Napoli match, upcoming Udinese match) on my mind.

Anyway, seems both French press and Italian press (Controcampo) think Lloris is almost a Milan player for £4m (7m euros I think). An interesting move by Milan for sure, as Lloris has a lot of potential from what I've seen. I don't think he's the next Buffon or anything from what I've seen, but certainly has the potential to be a world class keeper. A few things I've noticed about him. Firstly, the negative, he does seem a little Dida-esque, mostly with his shot stopping. Like Dida on more than one occasion I've seen him save a shot only for the ball to fall in front to another opponent (can't say if he does it as regularly as Dida). Good points include his quick reflexes, his commitment (he always seems fully committed when he goes for the ball), his calmness with the ball at his feet and his speed off the line. The last especially impressed me, as I don't think I've ever seen a keeper so quick off his line. If he does join, I think there are a few areas he'll have to develop, but he's an interesting talent.

Amauri's made his usual u-turn comments. This time he says he'll love to play with Kaka and thinks they'd be super together. He also thinks the Brazilian contingency at Milan is a big bonus for him to settle in. Quite honestly his indecisive comments and flirtations with both Juve and Milan are getting tiring (and clearly Juve fans are fed up with him). Personally, I don't think he's worth the effort right now. That's partly because I'd much rather we get Gomez.

I think Galliani's comments yesterday of Kaka playing as supporting forward, which were later backed up by Kaka himself gave a pretty clear indication that we're still in for Dinho. I don't think either the management or Carlo will rely on Seedorf as a regular starter now (it'd be insanity). There's also talk of a new 25m euro bid being made (someone listed the sources earlier), which is the kind of price I was expecting in the first place. I would still like Dinho in Milan, but I hope the drama ends very soon, as I simply don't think we can afford to waste too much time trying to get him (he's not a necessity, he's a bonus). We already have Pato and Kaka who score goals regularly and with Dinho, who is another with an excellent goals to game ratio on par with a solid forward in his Barca history, we will have a dangerous forward line.

However, I think these transfers need to be concluded quickly (and a reason why we're conducting talks well before the market officially opens), because we still have necessities to buy. For example, we'll need at least one new forward (possibly two). This would leave us with Pato, Inzaghi, Palo, new forward.

It looks as though we're looking to loan out Gourcuff, so there's a strong possibility we'll have to replace him with a squad player. Then of course the defence needs the most work. Lloris would be the start, and Zambrotta is expected, but if Bonera plays as RB (which I hope), we'll need two CB's (maybe 1 if Maldini stays), with hopefully one being Zapata.

At the very least, we're still looking at 3 more signings on top of Dinho, Lloris and Flamini should we get them. We must get a new forward, a new fullback and a new CB, these are bare essentials that we cannot do without and the CB and fullback positions are probable starters that we must find.

Gourcuff has apparently said the Milan have agreed that a loan might be good for him (i think it's after his dad spoke to the club), but it's too early to say where yet. I think it's good though, he really needs to play more (he's not really figured at all this season).

We could need two creative midfielders. One I think will be Dinho, dropping Seedorf to the bench and the other I think will either be someone like Di Gennaro recalled or someone like Brocchi used as a backup (more likely).

wHAT YOU HAVE SAID NOWIT THE EXACT THING mILAN NEEDS TO DO:

1. Buy new and promising/young enough goalkeeper - Lloris is a good choice and for a keeper he is very young, his time is still to come.
2. Buy one world class fullback - Zambrotta
3. Flamini - very good central/defensive midfielder, done.
4. New creative midfielder - Ronaldinho. Personally,Im keeping my fingers crossed becouse this player is not a normal and excellent player, he is a true phenomenon. And with just a LITTLE BIT of training ( and players tend to react positive to new surroundings, specially to Milanello ) Ronaldinho would be a FANTASTIC player again. without a doubt, in my eyes, the worlds most talented player at the moment. the most TALENTED ( so we dont start the debate who is the best - Ricky of course :) )
5. Forward - Didier :)
6. central defender - Zapata
------------------------------------

If this was about to happen then it would be a real mercato with real players brought in. unlike past 3 years. I still claim Carlo cannot lead Milan properly, but the new players are some kind of a start at least :)

What about Sammarco for our midfield ?
There were rumours we would get him back to home lol ...

For Bonera, he has been called in the 29 players list for Italy ?

I think we'll have some official signings after the next Tuesday (let the championships ending lol) ...

Ah yes, I mentioned Di Gennaro in my post, but I'd rather we let him develop elsewhere for a year (as he's barely played this season). Sammarco is definitely another midfielder we could bring back and one I forgot, he's a good utility man who's more DM than AM, but can contribute well going forward.

Bonera is looking a strong candidate to take Oddo's spot in the final Euro 2008 squad. He's in the provisional squad yes.

I noticed I said 7m euros for Lloris in my last post, should be 5m euros.

So if Brocchi leaves, we could get him back ...

Pirlo-Ambro-Gattuso-Flamini-Sammarco + Emerson
better than
Pirlo-Ambro-Gattuso-Brocchi-Emerson + Gourcuff

Milan in advanced talks with Lloris

With Nelson Dida to be released on a free transfer, and doubts still lingering over the quality of Zeljko Kalac, the Rossoneri have identified the capture of a new number one as their primary transfer target this summer.

A host of goalkeepers have been linked with a move to San Siro, including the likes of Sebastien Frey, Artur Boruc, and Heurelho Gomes and Alexander Doni. Controcampo says that Milan are in advanced negotiations with Nice for their young goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Diavoli have been following the 21-year-old for the last couple of seasons, and are now close to agreeing a transfer fee of just over €5m.

Lloris, who has won three caps for the French Under-21s, and two for Les Bleus B team, will become the Rossoner’s first choice between the sticks, ahead of Kalac.

The youngster came up through the Nice youth academy and made his debut for his hometown club back in 2005 whilst still a teenager.

It isn't possible !!
We will get only one striker + maybe Borriello ...

So don't dream about these players all together in Milan, it's too much !! Even in Football Manager, you couldn't buy them all and manage them !! lol

Inzaghi-Pato are sure to be there.
Palo will be a sub I think.

So there is only one place available for a striker, but like Kaka' will be used as a second striker, that would mean: Kaka' as second striker + Inzaghi-Pato as first strikers + Palo sometimes.

So if our interest really goes to Eto'o for example, that would mean, I think, that Gila will be sold and Palo will be loaned ... (Kaka'-Pato as second strikers +Eto'o-Inzaghi as first strikers)

But I can't understand why we would get both Eto'o AND Ronaldinho whereas there were many reports saying the 2 guys don't like each other ?

All of things above are gossips. :D

Today Eto'o, tomorrow we will link with Villa, next week with Robinho.

At the end we get only playes who are either free or without clubs. :haha: :haha: :haha:

I don't like Etoo.....................................,I mean his is a trouble maker, a time bomb if he was left on the bench, has been suffering from injuries in the last 2 seasons and probably has problems with Dinho and refussed to join Milan in the summer so why would we go for him? I hope its just another rumore, in ampother subject D.Alves seems closer and closer to Barca every day and I read in an Arabian site (Aljazeersport official website) that a 25m Euros bid is yet to be made, so no more dreams to see him as a right full back.
bye bye Alves

so after flamini ... we are negotiating rony ... & lloris ... this leaves out three positions ... right / left back , forward and CB ... for right back we need zammbrotta and for left back we might get grimi back as a sub ... we must get either drogba or mario gomes for CF and zapata for CB ... i think we might give catania 2 youngsters (pozzi and marzoratti) + 7 mils for vargas ... so finally flamini + ronaldinho + sammarco + grimi + zammbrotta + zapata + lloris .. veeeeeeeeeeery good
