El Fre and mrki please don't fight :( We all want the same thing here (milan to do well) Now let's all sign a petition to get Quaresma, Alves and Gomez :guw:
i don't want gattuso to go either but i think that if we had better players with more technique, better passing and shooting in place of gattuso and ambro we would be in a much better place now...
I think that ambrosini should not be a first team player. His whole career he's been a bench warmer, to took care of the towels and cold water for the boys. He did a great job but...if we could find somebody who could be as good as they defensively, but better offensively...
Once again, I want rino to stay!
Ambrosini have pretty much never been a reserve for Milan as you claim. Him missing over the years have never been a quality issue, it have been a issue of him missing often more than half the season due to injuries. This current Ambro being free from injuries is something I didn't think I ever would see. Is it then a surprise if he starts? I often said to some Milan fans that they overrate him due to some important goals he scored, but he have talent and his heart is in the right place. It is not his fault he is placed in a role were he isn't as effective. (he can't really cross for instance.)
@kris:Point taken, you are right when you say that his career was plagued with injuries but my problem with him( and gattuso for that matter) is that he isn't very useful when we are on the attack, right? He can't dribble, can't cross, can't shoot...His passing is good, great header but....
If ronaldinho arrives, our formation will be similar to barca's 4-3-3 but i see a problem in the fact that their 3 man midfield of deco-iniesta-xavi can both defend and attack while in milan ambro and gattuso are useless in attack and pirlo is too slow for defense.
as i wouldn't drop pirlo out, the only solution is to give him 2 players who are equally good in defense and attack like flamini and aquillani who can do the running and defending for him, and still be useful when we attack.
Of course i would keep rino and ambrosini in squad for rotation, and throw brocchi and emerson out.
If ronaldinho arrives, our formation will be similar to barca's 4-3-3 but i see a problem in the fact that their 3 man midfield of deco-iniesta-xavi can both defend and attack while in milan ambro and gattuso are useless in attack and pirlo is too slow for defense.
I can't remember they ever played that midfield. Iniesta have been used even as a wide striker when Deco played. Back then they used Edmilson and Marquez in midfield, now they use Toure.
Now I said before I rather use Seedorf in midfield than both Gattuso and Ambrosini and that is still my stance. Pirlo is not to slow for defense, unless he ends up wide protecting against one player. In the middle of the park speed is needed less.

Both Ambro and Rino are quality players for Milan and I am sick of people putting them down b/c of one bad season.
Flamini might be the next big thing at DM but quite frankly nobody knows how well he would adapt the Milan system. Just look at Sisosko, look at how he is playing now compare to the time he was at Pool. I actually watched Sisosko played live in HK and even though he was everywhere, I still think he was crap b/c he was against players that not even close to him and yet he failed to dominate. My point is that a team tactics might dictate how well the player's perform. Pls also remember that Wenger always get players that fits into his system instead of the other ways around.
If I have to choose players that can beat Rino or Ambro for their spot, Essien is one of them and the other will probably be De Rossi. As those two are the only two clear cut better DM in my opinion.
xavi-iniesta-deco was their standard midfield formation last year, this year they just rotate toure with them. These are some of the games this year in which they played together.

But it is not important who played, it is important that the players who featured play both ways, attack<->defense.
All of them score often and i cant remember when gattuso&ambro scored or produced an assist or dribbled past somebody to create space for kaka.
Aren't midfielders supposed to do that?
Marquez = no thanks.
Deco = maybe, but still undecided.
Deco-Pirlo-Flamini ... could that work? :googly:
I'll admit i've not seen Deco play for a while, but the last time i saw him he still had some strong running & aggression in him. So maybe he could do it, though i'm not sure.

I really don't get this deal, it wouldn't leave us in a particularly fantastic position at all.
Zambro is a signing I support, only if we get other reinforcements too.
However, Deco and Marquez don't make much sense to me at all. Deco, who I've personally never rated that highly, isn't really a forward thinking purchase as he's 30 and his career's been on a downward slope. The only realistic reason I can see for his purchase is to play as a squad player should Seedorf or Gourcuff leave this summer. Even if this is the case, why look at players who are struggling (physically, form or both). I'd rather go for someone like Montolivo (who was also linked to us), who may not have had a great season, but is potentially a great buy (and Fio look willing to negotiate for).
Marquez makes little sense to me as well. He's good, but not great, and like Barzagli I can't really see him being a great improvement over either Kaladze or Bonera. He can play DM, but really if we're getting a DM, we should look for a long term solution, not a 29 yr old who only has a couple of years left at the top.
I hope these rumours aren't anything more than just that. The management themselves made it clear we need to look for young and upcoming talents this summer. Instead, all strong rumours (and comments from management)are for ageing players (except R10) who are currently on a downward slope in their career.
3 or 4 players from the same big team? How likely is that? I would say zero percentage chance. I hope Zambro comes and Ronaldinho is still 28, the rest no. There are plenty of other name mentioned in this thread and other rumours that would be better.
Anyway, it is something stupid if we really do that ... 4 guys: one in poor form, one "old" and two who lost their place in first team !!
Taking Ronaldinho is ok, but taking these 4 guys from Barcelona is a real lack of ambition on the market !!
Barcelona will probably sell these 4 guys, it's why if a club like us want them all, Barcelona won't refuse, it is simpler for them to sell them all to the same club instead of negociating with many clubs !! And that's the reason why I think this rumour could be true ...
They would be anyway a good addition for the bench, that would even improve our bench, but don't we need 3-4 first team players (one to replace Ambro or Gattuso, one to replace Kaladze, one R/LB to replace Janku or Oddo, and one for GK) instead of 10 bench players ? By adding 3-4 first team players, the ones being starters this year but replaced next year would be a kind of recruies for us: they would go on the bench but could enter at anytime, whereas buying guys directly for the bench means that they don't know the team, and won't have time to usually play good (Gourcuff, Brocchi, Emerson for example).
All the rest are crap (Ronaldinho included :guw: ) But I have always been a fan of Marquez. He can play a variety of defensive roles and is a decent left back.
LEFT BACK PEOPLE!!! WE NEED A LEFT AND RIGHT BACK :wth:
hahahaha ... Marquez a decent left-back ... haha, thanks for making me laugh Dru :ilol:
I don't think he's the answer to our defensive troubles buddy :D
It's difficult to know which full-back to go for. Deep down we all know we won't get Vargas or Alves, so beyond those 2 who is there for the full-back slots?
Well if Zambrotta is used as left-back, that leaves us with Eboue (who's quite inconsistent right now), Lahm (plays both sides), Lell (is he good enough?), Bosingwa, Rafinha (probably going to Liverpool even though he's signed a new contract) and now i'm struggling a bit.
However, if Zambro is playing right-back, that leaves us with Pasquale (is he consistent enough?), Lahm (again), Emanulsen (is he ready for a bigger move?), Taiwo (is he consistent enough?) and that's about all i can think of.
GeoTav will be able to give a better opinion of the players based in France, maybe he knows better players from Le Championat. Struggling for names really.
laugh all you want at Marquez but in the beginning he was amazing. A lot of Barca's players are underperforming not only Marquez and Ronaldinho.....but I agree that he isn't Milan material...it's just that the universe won't implode if he pus on a red and black shirt
One of the things we need in order to fix Milan is to change our mentality.
Many if not all of us are shooting down dream transfers with the line "playerX" is too expensive let's get slightly older/$h!tt!er/riskier "playerY" who would cost less. I think I made this point already but it needs to be made again.
In terms of the transfer market we should be going for the best or at least "one of the best" out there.
Alves is or seems to be the best fullback out there. In terms of PACE he might be the best. Other good fullbacks are Rathino (potentially better but more risky), Ramos, Rafhina, Raggi, Vargas, Lahm, Lell
Quaresma is imho the second best winger in the world...and not very far behind Ba. If we're getting a winger he should at least be comparable to Quaresma or CR7 and not a "great for the price" player or even worse "decent squad player" All I can think of is Quaresma, Nani, Rosina, Ribery, Malouda, Ben Arfa & Schweinsteiger
As far as strikers go the best young prospects are Gomez, Aguero and Benzema
Instead we are perpetually linked with a bunch of "free", "bargain", "pre-schoolers" "not-much-more-left-in-the-tank" or "past-it" players of the Caesar Apreciado, some crap epl nobody, Zambrotta( the least past it of the bunch), Boriello, Drogba and Sheva
When you contemplate that Inter,ManU and Real had Championship winning teams and they BOTH heavily invested in the transfer market as well as Barca's and Liverpool massive investments every year as well as Chelsea's stupendous acquisitions every transfer window...it would be simply an outrage to end up with only a few $h!t transfers.

Has everybody forgot about Grosso?
he could be some use at LB and then Zambro can cover the right and if zambro dont come Oddo can keep his place
I am afraid those who do not accept or want Zambro, Drogba and the likes are almost certainly in for a disappointment...
Except from Pjanic, Cana, Nasri (not sure), maybe Valbuena too and some Lyon guys, there is no "Milan material" (apparely we have to say like that ??) in French Ligue 1 ...
Perhaps also Niang, a very versatile player (he is a forward, but can play on the wings, as a central offensive midfielder, etc) who has good dribble skills and often scores. He's, from my point of view, the best striker in France after Benzema. His problem is that he has the same kind of career that Drogba had: it is his first real very good season (I mean, good from the beginning) and he is 28 if I'm right.
Taiwo isn't good: he isn't that good when he goes forward, everyone tells he has a very good shoot skill but he maybe scored 2-3 times only in 2 years lol and he isn't very good in defense. I never understood why everyone says he's a good player ... and anyway, he said once on TV that Valencia was his favorite choice.
laugh all you want at Marquez but in the beginning he was amazing. A lot of Barca's players are underperforming not only Marquez and Ronaldinho.....but I agree that he isn't Milan material...it's just that the universe won't implode if he pus on a red and black shirt.
He was good once, but not anymore. However you're wrong about the universe imploding if we buy him, it will happen! Nostradamus even wrote about it:
"The devils of red and black shall make friends with the lords of Catalunya and the passing of a green skinned native shall take place. Though the completion of the act shall result in the planets colliding, the heavens to fall spilling angels of mercy upon us and the earth shall open up and swallow everything in mass destruction. Beware you devils of red and black!"
See, Nostradamus said we shouldn't, so there :nana:
I've only seen Grosso once this season and that was against Man Utd in the CL at Old Trafford. He was excellent in that match, didn't put a foot wrong and had Ronaldo in his pocket the whole evening.

Musics to our ears:

Silvio: Dinho and a hitman
“Ronaldinho wants to come to Milan and another top centre-forward is on his way too,” announced President Silvio Berlusconi.
The patron – this week elected Prime Minister of Italy – made the statements on Sky Sport Italia.
“Ronaldinho wants to come to Milan, that is clear. First of all because this club is the world champion, secondly as there are so many Brazilians and third everyone knows how well we treat our athletes.
“Perhaps we pay a little less than other sides, but we give them a lot more glory.”
The dig was at the other teams vying for Ronaldinho’s signature, as the Barcelona star is also a target for Inter, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The negotiations for the former World and European Player of the Year are confirmed and well known, but Berlusconi hinted at another transfer well on the way to completion.
“Another very important player is on the way. He is a powerful centre-forward who I shall not name.
“We are ready to sign two world class players for next season and there will be world class players in defence, too.”
The description of this centre-forward does not fit Andriy Shevchenko, who has also been tipped for a return to San Siro after his disappointing Chelsea spell.
“He had to bow down to a decision that his wife considered indispensable for the good of their children and so I supported him,” revealed Berlusconi.
“Among the fans there is a confrontation between those who believe he was a traitor and those who want him back. He did not cheat on Milan, he had to put his family first and I understood his decision.
“Now I believe that if he came back, we would welcome him with open arms. I am the first to support a return and hope he does.”
This week transfer guru Adriano Galliani also stated that Shevchenko’s arrival was “possible.”
Milan President Berlusconi concluded by leaving the door open for another comeback – former Rossoneri player and current Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni.
“I think he has done very well for the Nazionale and can see his future going in that direction. But if Milan needed a change of management, then he would be a great option, someone who was a key player for us and gave this side many victories.”
It is bound to spark further rumours over Carlo Ancelotti’s future should the Rossoneri not qualify for the Champions League.
-------------------------------------------------------------
World-class defence? well it depends on what he considers world-class because aparently to them Favalli and Kaladze are both world-class. But its nice to know that they are looking at the defence too..
and about the Dinho and a striker, hmm if its not Shevchenko who could it be? He says im not going to name him, to tell you the truth I think thats all BS and they do not have their man. He then talks about how Sheva is welcome back, so I dunno, could it be Dinho + Sheva + new striker?
and besides, I know who it is... i'll give you a hint, read the title of the thread and read my user name :D

Ok, I am going to ask all those people who have imbibed too many mushrooms, inhaled too much smoke, or drank too much before posting, to sober up prior to typing...
Its not even official transfer time yet, and we have quotes from Nostrodamus, posts with smileys doing the wave, and rumors we are going to take 4, not 3, not 2, but 4 players from a club, Barca, no less, in one fell swoop.
Seriously, please, ease off the hard stuff before posting...or else heaven help us all.....as silly season hasnt even begun!

You're a world class striker ?! lol
We don't have many choices, if Berlu has the same point of view that we have about "world class striker", that would mean:
- Van Nistelroy (bouuuuh beeeeerk), Tevez, Aguero, G.Rossi (soon a world class player), Drogba, Eto'o, Benzema, Villa, Torres, Ibrahimovic (to be nice with our Inter friends umh umh), Huntelaar (soon like Rossi), Lavezzi (I think he is !!), Boriello (I think Berlu thinks he is now lol), Toni, Amauri (I personnaly don't think he is a world class player but others do so), ...
It's a big list, and weirdly, the only ones having been linked to us are the older !! lol
Drogba, Van Nistelroy and Toni ...
I smiled when I read "world class playerS in defense" ... but from their point of view, Zambrotta is still a world class player, isn't he ?!
Anyway, we'll be active on the market like we all expected we would be ...

I think Drogba might be going to Inter, especially, if "the Special One" goes there to replace Mancini...which is what I think will happen to facilitate the switch....
So, for powerful strikers, that leaves: Benzema, Berbatov, Toni, Huntelaar, Abendayor, Vucinic (sp?), Borriello, Amauri (???)....and rules out Rossi, Tevez, Rooney, Aguero, and anyone under 6ft.
My listing above is far from exhaustive, and reflects only those I think would be willing/able to make a move to Milan...even if ideally I would have to remove the Arsenal and Bayern Munich players, as I doubt they would be "willing" to leave clubs where they have settled in, and are sure starters for.
Berbatov I like...and hope we get, if not, Benzema, if we decide to break the bank.

Are you sure of that? That is indeed a very, very nice option and would be a typical Galliani intercept. (more typical if Evra was 29-31, how old is he?)
You see they mention us getting world-class defenders, but you see I think the problem is in the fullbacks, they are not good enough offensively. Oddo/Favalli/Bonera/Jankulovski are all poor compared to Cafu of a few years ago and Pancaro if you remember. I wish they get someone who is good defensively and great attackingly, someone in the mold of Marcelo, Alves.
Gio, haha Dario Hubner, where is he nowadays? did he retire yet?

i dont think so vulli because evra signed with Man U in 2006 for a 3 and a half year contract...which means he still has 1 and a half more year to go on his contract..if he was at the end of his contract he would be a awsome option exactly what we are missing in our fullbacks but unfortunetly he still has sometime to go

If this deal is true, then that must mean we are getting Frey. No other major club in Europe is looking for a new starting keeper at the moment except for us, and we have been in contact with the player for quite some time now. To me, this is a bigger deal than the Ronaldinho signing as it actually solves one of our biggest problems in a reliable goalkeeper who doesn't give goals away like it's free lunch.

he is a good player but plays on the left side as a winger ever since his lyon days...and as we all know we dont play with wingers he wouldnt really fit anywhere...he isnt so much of a player to play terqurista(sp).....
Bezema's price is 38 mln, that is what calciomercato says. not much :)
I dont like the idea that Milan is ready to sell Gattuso and Seedorf, our strenght sjhould be a number of quality players that can rotate and all stay fresh. But I also dont see Seedorf accepting bench role like Rui did. Seedorf knows he cant play in front of Ronaldinho and that he hasnt got the CM role in his legs any more. He could really leave us.
Roma's Mancini will 100% leave Roma and he could be a great player for Milan.

I just wrote the news I read on calciomercato, I didnt invent it. The player will not be sold by more then 40 mln, like Essien for example. Andough I can see Benzema staying in Lyon for next season. But if he goes it will be Barca or Real becouse of the money power they have. Chelsea eventually, as we can see they have good connections with Lyon.
Ronaldinho wants 12mln per season, accordin to calciomercato again. 12 mln? I dont know if that is ok to pay him... We will see aguess.
Some person in the comments below says Bronzetti was talking in the Milan Chennel and said Milan offered 30 mln for Ronaldinho+Zambrotta and Barcelona refused. We will see aguess, but if we have any chance to sign those 2 players it would be such a shame we fail in the end.

Benzema won't go in England ... dixit Benzema himself lol.
He said that Spain (first) and Italy (second) would be more his kind of championships.
And, just remember what said Aulas ... in September, he said "won't be sold, but if I had to sell him: 40M €", then there was all the rumours with big clubs wanting him, and an official interest from Real Madrid in December-January, so Aulas said "won't be sold, but if I had to sell him: 60M €", and now there is plenty rumours that ALL big clubs want him lol, and he said once on French TV "won't be sold, but if I had to sell him: not at less than 70-75M €".
His real value is around 30-35M €, but with Aulas, you can double the price. It was the same for Essien (sold 38M €) or Malouda (sold 20M €), Essien's value was around 15M € and Malouda's value was nothing more than 10M € ...
I am not a geometry genius, but doesn't 360 degrees means we end up exactly where we started? If that's the analogy Galliani used, then it sounds more like we are going to get the similar team to play next season. Their main targets Shevchenko, Ronaldinho and Zambrotta would be good evidence that we will be seeing the same old team philosophy next season.
If you talk strictly in geometry terms you are right
But I think that Galliani meant that this mercato period will affect every department of the team
defence,midfield and forward
Yesterday Berlusconi said that Milan will buy fuoriclasse in defence too(Ma noi siamo tesi all’acquisto di due fuoriclasse per il prossimo anno. E naturalmente i fuoriclasse saranno anche in difesa)
so maybe it won't be only Zambrotta, and forward Sheva, Ronaldinho and another striker (Gazzetta - Adebayor, Gomez or Drogba)
Hoeness(Bayern) said it's not true that they offered a contract to Gattuso
Uli Hoeness ha però ammesso: "E' comunque un giocatore molto interessante".

Why zambrotta and not Dani Alves? is it because Dani Alves is too young, great going forward, can score with both legs, or is it the price? Zambrotta is 34 Alves is 24... if we sign Zambrotta we will have to replace him before Alves reaches 30 and that would mean spending more in the long run with a next signing... If Zambrotta is signed because of price then it is "penny wise and pound foolish".
I am no genious at comparing and buying stuff but Dani Alves is a better buy than Zambrotta.
Noone is able to say if Zambrotta is really a target or not ...
Simply because a guy in our management saying "this player is interesting" doesn't mean we're going to buy him !!
And medias ... medias ... medias ...
Actually, I'm strating to tell myself that we will know who we were really targetting only when these targets will have signed officially. It's my point of view, everyday, we have a new target from medias for all our parts of the team, that's boring lol.
PS: Except when the deal is almost signed or is signed, why a club would say in medias "we want this guy", that means other clubs, rivals like Inter for example, could act like if they wanted the same guy (even if it is not real) just to increase the prices ...

Dani Alves should be a target Ho Young...of that I am certain...but whether we will attempt to buy him is anyone´s guess.
Berlu, as PM, will spend big on his team, as it would hurt his "image" for the club to be unsuccessfull during his term of office...success begets success...so I do anticipate a big splurge in the summer mercato...who we actually will buy, outside of R10, whom Berlu himself has indicated is a top target, is open for speculation.
Personally, I would love Alves AND Zambrotta, AND R10, and Berbatov...but since I lost Galliani´s cell #, I havent been able to tell him whom I want the club to target.

Zambrotta is 31. He's the better defender of the two and can play on both sides, which Alves can't do. He costs 1/4 of Alves and he's a world champion, so let's not start to bash Zambrotta before he actually plays. Deco is IMO, the REAL reason why Barca won their title, not R10...the industry, passing, scoring, assists and yes, defending done by Deco won them several games...its always good to have players of R10´s quality, but he was the heart of the midfield, and we all know that its in the midfield where games are won or lost.
He is, when on form, the best replacement we could find for Pirlo, even if he plays slightly more advanced.
He is a complete midfielder, and if rejuvenated by milanlab and his "new" team-mates, I can only see him making a stellar contribution to our "treble" winning season next term:
Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and UEFA Cup :D
I would welcome the Portugese international with open arms, though I confess to being undecided about Marquez...who isnt really a bad player...:dontkn:
Marquez is a great CB, and very good playing "the Pirlo" position... only problem has been that this past season he had a few injuries... but that field of Camp Nou must have a curse, or a technical problem because everybody gets injured there...
every day its somebody new, today its robinho.
as far as alves goes, i think milan are looking @ him, but its not everything that we do will be reported.
and i dont think he has anything against milan, and with this large brazilian body, i dont see why he wouldnt want to come. And we can afford him.
Some one else asked why zambrotta over him.--> personally, as i saode b4, we are looking @ them both. Honestly i think the best move is to get them both, with zambrotta playing on the left and alves on the right. Jankulofski and oddo to back the both up, and bonera as the utility defender if there is any injury.
i also said on an earlier post that seedorf must leave if r10, is here, now goal has an article on it.
Seedorf MUST leave if ronnie is here, and we need a young(which seedorf is not) player to back ronnie and kaka, who is fast(which seedorf is not), and also realyy skilled on the ball.
as far as deco goes, im not really interested in us getting him. to me he is washed up and 30, we need some young players.
Deco.................................................I would welcome the Portugese international with open arms,
if you want a portugese look @ veloso and JoAo Mounitho, a DM and AM repectively, both are great, and play for lisbon. We have grimi, who lisbon wants, so i dont see why we cant get one of them. Veloso would also be great expecially if we dont get Flamini and Gattuso leaves.

The Perfect person to play in the midfield, is Luka Modric, Or Ibrahim Afellay, both can play anywhere in the midfield, and are young great buys.
Modric can back, R10 or Kaka or Pirlo or whoever else will be in our midfield next year.
i can also suggest we can carry brian lara, and kobe bryant to milan, i hear their both good @ football.
We need a change of Players and ADMIN people
First Silvio needs to sell the club to Bruce Golding.
Replace Galliani with Portia Simpson
Replace sponsers Bwin.com with Cash Plus or Maybe DigiCel
Also replace ancelloti with the great brazilian SUPER COACH Rene Simoes.
We dont need ronnie, when there is ricardo Gardener.
we dont need Benzema, Berbatov or Gomes with Marlon King, Deon Burton and Lucton Shelton,
WHo needs frye when there is donovan Ricketts, '
and dont forget the defence specialist Ian Goodison.
Looking for youth, I have a answer for that to, Jermain Jarrett, the next Cafu.
Too slow, theres Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt on the wings.
Kaka better watch out, he may lose his starting XI spot to the LEGENDARY Theodore Whitmore.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
all player in this post are real players, check them out, you will hear all about them in WC10. Well not KOBE, OR LARA, or Powell or Bolt. but you will hear about Bolt and Powell in Olympics 08.................
I have no relation, or do i agree with what cash plus has done, incase i offended anyone that has money in cash plus.

What was that about?
I think the media is having so much fun these days and will have more fun in this year transfer season.
1. There is the Euro 2008 where a lot of talented unknown will make their name and also a lot of one hit wonder will also make their name.
2. Milan, Barcelona, Pool and even Chelsea are all clubs that will most likely spend, spend and spend some more due to either aging squads, trouble players, and Management problems.
3. Not to mention teams like Roma, Arsenal, Real, Inter, Juve and Bayern making headlines as they all want to strengthen their squad to win the CL, since their most hated CL rival Milan(because we r the best) is not in the competition.
4. Then there are teams like ManU who r just so rich that they can afford to overpay all the time and gets away with it.
Well, personally I think a lot of players will be switching teams this summer, not sure where they will be, but they will, and here are who I think.
Drogba: NOt sure where he is going, but he is going somewhere.
Possible destination: Real Mad, don't care where he goes just as he does not end up at Inter.
Lampard: He says he wants to follow Mourihno but I doubt Chelsea will sell him to his former coach as there are loads of teams that want his service.
PD: Juve or Barcelona
Sheva: I really don't think any team wants Sheva except for us.
PD: Milan, and he better comes out firing or else everyone will turn on him.
Malouda: Don't know why Chelsea wants to sell someone like him, but he will be gone.
PD: Barcelona, they do need people to replace Dinho and Malouda fits in perfectly as he will be playing with Henry and Abidal.
Deco: He is leaving but to where
PD: Milan or Arsenal, I do wish he comes to be Pirlo'sub but with his ego, he will probably wants to start. Wenger with an eye of bargain, I just can't think of a reason why Wenger won't go for him.
Marquez: Have no clue
PD: MIlan, he is the perfect Galli buys except that he is not over 30. CHeap, was once talent and great leader.(I can just see Milan striking deals with Mexican sponorship)
Dinho: I think he has MIlan written all over him.
PD: Unless something dramatic happens, I doubt Dinho won't be scoring goals for us next season as Berlu named he is coming. And as Milan fans, when Berlu name something, it is bound to happen.
Zambrotta: Some teams in Italy
PD: Milan or Juve. I know he is coming back but to which teams?
Edmilson: Who wants him?
PD: Milan, another typical Galli buys but this time, he is also a World Champion, I just hope that the World class defender Berlu was mentioning is not him.
RVN: Only if Real got Drogba
PD: Milan, read Marquez's comment
Baptista: He is so gone
PD: MIlan, I swear if Milan signs the beast, thats the final blow to a great team, first Olivera, then Emerson and now Baptista. Thats the trio of Brazilians reject.
Robino: He is going no where unless Real sign a superstar upfront.
PD: Chelsea, he actually should do well there.
Cannavaro: He will most likely leave after this season
PD: Milan, he actually might be the World Class defender that Berlu was talking about.
Lucio: He wanted to leave Bayern
PD: MIlan or RM, as I don't see any other clubs that would want to pay for his service
Kompany: It was mentioned that he wants to leave ages ago
PD: Unknown
Seedorf: He is gone the moment Dinho signs for Milan
PD: Somewhere in Spain as he will suffer in the EPL
Gila: Nice player but just does not cut it in Milan
PD: Juve, maybe a swap for Chellini???
Emerson: NOwhere
PD: back in Brazil and try to pull a ZeRoberto
Brocchi: Just not good enough
PD: Some lower teams in Italy and he will play well, and then all of us will be screaming that Carlo or Galli sucks for letting him go for nothing.
Simic: Somewhere in England
PD: Hopefully he will have a solid Euro 2008 and his price will go up and Milan must cash him in.

Add in a big striker (Borriello or Drogba are my guesses) and that's pretty much the kind of mercato I'm expecting (not sure if we'll get these exact players).
If Gattuso and/or Seedorf do leave, then an extra midfielder (possibly 2) will be added to the list.

:D Let Merda have Drogba as he wont do anything
he will take a season to settle in, a season where he will cause trouble and be benched most of the time for Ibra to play and the 3rd season he will be 33/34 and useless.

It is a news from english paper Times
Liverpool has 40mil euro debt towards some english bank and they have to pay it in a year
Maybe that’s why they were pushed with the help of the referees up to CL semifinal
Regarding this news another rumour is Gattuso on anfield for Mascherano
In a Gazzetta article about Milan's refounding(Rifondazione Milan) it says about Pato, Kakà, Inzaghi e Paloschi that they are Confermatissimi
But i have doubts about Milan's team for next season if we'll play in uefa cup

So let's buy Mascherano (25M €) or Gerrard (30M €) and Torres (40M €) ? lol
Liverpool will be happy, they will be able to pay their debt !! lol
I really don't think, even if they have an enormous debt (MU will be in the same case in some years), that they're going to sell those two players (Torres and Babel) ?! It sounds to me like it is impossible ...
PS: Would it be possible that Torres is our "powerful world-class striker" ?? I stop there, people are going to be mad with such news and rumours !! lol
Are the Kaka rumour believable?
there all over again
I don't think so ... he has a contract, after Sheva sitcom some years ago, it won't be possible for him to leave with so many years still signed !!
And like he always says he will stay even if we go to UEFA Cup, that he wants to be our captain, etc etc etc ... I think we can be confident with Kaka', he seems to be a great guy, like we say in France, he seems to have "the head on the shoulders", that means he isn't going to leave us because of one poor season. And I also think it's truth when he says he loves Milan and his life in Milan.
So, from my point of view, we don't have to care with all these rumours (only a bis repetita of the last mercatos).
Friday 18 April:
Gazzetta dello Sport
Milan's ins and outs: In - Frey, Zambrotta, Mexes, Flamini, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho, --------------------: Outs - Dida, Cafu, Simic, Emerson, Serginho, Gourcuff, Gilardino
That would almost be too good to be true. If it is true I'd be really happy.
We'll see...
I want Gila to stay one more year ... Sheva not to come, and the mysterious powerful world-class striker to join us (Pato, mysterious guy lol, Gila, Palo + Inzaghi the joker).
Yes Liverpool probably have borrowed money to pay for Babel & Torres but they won't lose those two players and to think that's why referees have 'pushed' them into a CL semi-final is absolutely ludicrous. So is the suggestion Liverpool would swap Mascherano for Gattuso. People believing these rumours need slapping with a large fish!
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Van Nistlerooy is the target striker Berlusconi is talking about, it's clear it's not Shevchenko.
Ok, i have my fantasy hat on now so i can think about a 4-2-3-1 formation with Robinho, Kaka & Ronaldinho playing behind this 'target' man :rotfl:
I like that fantasy :D :D

if you want to play 4-2-3-1 ... it's asif you want pirlo to leave and you want us to buy robinho + ronny + that striker + 2 dmf s who can adopt quickly and fill the gaps
Ok, i have my fantasy hat on now so i can think about a 4-2-3-1 formation with Robinho, Kaka & Ronaldinho playing behind this 'target' man :rotfl:
Nobody knows ... it will be Rafael Sobis !!
Yeah !!
We're going to buy Daniel Alves too, Lucio, Ze Roberto, Marcelo and Diego ...
All non-Brazilian players who are not in the first team will be sold.
So next year:
--------- Dida ----------
Alves-Nesta-Lucio-Marcelo
------- Ze Roberto -------
Kaka - Ronaldinho - Diego - Robinho
-------- Pato ------------
Who will be the guy to sell the following year ?!
So let's buy Mascherano (25M €) or Gerrard (30M €) and Torres (40M €) ? lol
Liverpool will be happy, they will be able to pay their debt !! lol

If they will sell only one of these players it won’t be Torres or Gerrard
I think that too
But Mascherano(they also have lucas) or Babel maybe are not so impossible to sell
Mascherano can be a good addition to Milan but only if we buy him not swap Gattuso for him (I’d rather change Ambro than Gattuso)
Anyway Liverpool still has to play CL semi-final (because of the referees they had) so I think that their transfers will depend on the result against Chelsea
if you want to play 4-2-3-1 ... it's asif you want pirlo to leave and you want us to buy robinho + ronny + that striker + 2 dmf s who can adopt quickly and fill the gaps
oh boo hoo ... poor little Pirlo might have to sit on the bench if a line up i was joking about came true ... for goodness sake, get a grip :rollani:
Besides, if Pirlo is a DM he should be able to play in a DM position which is what would be required in the 2 of a 4-2-3-1 line up.
@Marcovb, why would Liverpool sell Mascherano after they just shelled out £18 million on him?
@Marcovb, why would Liverpool sell Mascherano after they just shelled out £18 million on him?
Times said that liverpool might be in the situation to sell one of their good players because they need more money and they mentioned Torres, Mascherano and Babel
I said Mascherano because they already have Lucas and Gerrard and other valuable players they don’t have
But I know this are only rumours and from all the names that I read (Diarra, Deco, Schwainsteiger) Masche is better

last year he said that his dream is to play for Milan with Pirlo
in this video you will see some of Cana's ability

Hihi I already talked about him some days/weeks ago but I saw no rumour linking us to him ??
He is a defensive midfielder who can rely the ball, so he's more efficient than Gattuso. He is very physical, actually, for me, it's Gattuso with more physical skills (yeah yeah I don't lie lol) and with more technical skills ... so a perfect player for us. And he likes to motivate his partners and also the crowd ... like Gattuso !! lol

Yet I read where we r linked with Torres on channel4 this am.....
Go figure!
You all speak now about players like if nobody spoke about them before ...
Pjanic wouldn't be a guy like Pato but more an offensive midfielder ...
I really doubt that L'pool will sell Torres in any case, but even if Babbel is up for sale I wouldm take him to be an offensive atatcking forward as he palys for Benitez on the right wing.
Pjanic I have never seen play so I dot know, maybe Bosniaco has seen him closely??
People you need to realise that if Milan manages to buy Ronaklinho and Zambrotta we will get 2 brilliant players from which one is an extraordinary fullback who cant be passed by, and the other is the most talented palyer right now ni the world who just lacks some fitness, who is NOT injured and in 28 years old. And CAN PLAY WELL WITH KAKA?. Fingers crossed for those two.
Another thing has come up: ;aldini is ijnured quiet harsh and this could mean he had played his football for Milan, we can also expect new CB.
I dreamt two nights ago that Milan bought Torres, C. Ronaldo and Favalli's twin brother. Rather freaky as I seldom dream about Milan transfers, but to see us linked with Torres this morning is rather........intriguing :D

To replace maldini, I would prefer Lucio from bayern, tall and good in the air, good ball possession, aggressive, overlapping ability. I dont mind to do business with bayern on a swap deal between Lucio and gattuso provided if we can lay hands on De Rossi or Michael Essien
Let us go for the following:
Lucio, Zambrotta, Ronaldihno, Drogba/Eto/Adebayor, Frey or Abbiati. This will be a very good summer transfer

Well Pjanic is a very young guy as you can see, he is 18 years old. I know that Olle Hunass ( I cant spell his name) he is like a sporting director for Bayern, he invited Pjanic to visit Bayern Munchen and see how things work at Bayern. I know that Lyon President personaly congratulated Pjanic an his preformances and has requested permission to talk to his dad (who is his agent).
Here is a link from tuttowebmercato all the club that were reported interested in Pjanic
http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=search&word=Pjanic
I never saw him play live, I know people who did and they say he is great for a 18 year old. Great vision, great passing, very good power, great free kicks. There is also a video on youtube of Pjanic taking a free kick against Coupet and it was a very good free kick, gave a lot of problem to Coupet.

Thats exactaly that Pjanic is. But if you look at Lyon, this year they got Ederson (great player). But I know, of course, the best players of the Ligue 1 because there are plenty informations on them in medias etc ... so even if you don't watch them, you know them and see them someday !! lol
Ederson, I don't know him that much, and he's been bought by Lyon, so I won't try to know anything more about him, because he won't be a Milan player ... lol
Well we will all know him next year :)
I really dont follow French 1 that much I only follow Samir Nasri and Miralem Pjanic, I like Nasri he is a good player and Miralem Pjanic is Bosnian so am I.
']Torres is so overrated, I would love to see how he performs in Serie A. And he is fragile, you have to keep him "fresh" cause he cant tolerate playing sunday-wednesday-saturday.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Torres is a striking genious!

Letting Gattuso go ? No way ! Let's not joke. Gattuso won't go anywhere. He's the soul of this team, and he played poorly this year along with Pirlo because he played too many games.
The club should find great backups.
Robinho to Milan ? Don't fool yourselves. With Ronaldinho, Kakà, Pato and Sheva + Inzaghi and Paloschi and Mister X, we don't need Robinho. Robinho is just worldclass in losing 60 balls per match.
Mister X : i think he's Drogba. He bought home in Milan, and that's why Carlo said "we know his address". But Chelsea asked a ridiculous amount of moneys for him. Another Mister X could be TREZEGUET: with Amauri coming to Juve i think he could leave.
We dont need Sheva, we would be more than fine with KAka', Ronaldinho, Pato, Drogba, Pippo, Boriello, Paloschi.
And I also think that selling Rino would be idiotic move as Rino is a heart of this team. He played too many games and one croatian site brought news that he was dissapointed by the fact he needs to run for other people like Brocchi, Seedorf, Emerson and so on... Rino is right, whatever this is true or not. Milan managment needs to realise you cannot have someone work for 2 players at time. With Flamini in the middle things for us will change a lot, and in a good way, we cant letthis man go to Juve.
Also, I dont see Calrence being ready for a bench role and I dont appriciate his comments about Ronaldinho, no.10 and so on... Seedorf will leave in my oppinion, but the time will show aguess.

Borriello doesn't come for free. We own just one half of his tag.
Sheva will come back. It's 100% sure. To each one his own opinion on him, but his return is almost a FACT everyone has to deal with.

And Gattuso-Pirlo do well in this end of season, like Kaka' ... they play better at each game !! So if they can be let on the bench sometimes next year (so if we buy good players able to replace them), they will do great again.
I would say more Iaquinta leaving Juventus than Trezeguet ... Trezeguet won't be sold, they didn't want to sell him even in Serie B. Iaquinta is always on the bench and enters on the pitch around 75th-80th minute, not enough for a guy who needs to play to be in the national squad.

What a unfair quote...Robinho is the one that plays great with Kaká in Brazil NT. Is the one that doens´t desapear in the finals when Brazil and Barça needed...Robinho was instrumental for Capello(and Capello dislike him) late run for the Real Madird title last year, and was the best player of Real Madrid this year until his strange injure.
If it wasn´t for him, Schuster woud be fighting for just a spot in Champions League this year. Robinho also was the MAN in Brazil title of Copa America...and in a team that besides the defense(Daniel Alves, Maicon, Alex Juan, Julio Cesar...) was full of scrubs. A team with a midfield of Gilberto Silva, Julio Baptista, Josué and Mineiro  and pairing in the atack with the ones of Vagner Love and Afonso Alves
C´mon man...you have all the right to chose Ronaldinho over Robinho any day, but to say that Robinho is "just worldclass in losing 60 balls per match" is at leats unfair...
BTW, as we brazilian are able to see in Brazil NT EVERY match, or Ronaldinho change his behavior on and off the field(I don´t believe), or we will regreat a lot his purchase...
We need a first striker, Geo. Iaquinta isn't.
Oups I didn't explain my thought very well ... lol
I don't want Iaquinta in Milan, I just say that if one of the strikers is going to be sold in Juventus, it's going to be Iaquinta and not Trezeguet.
No way that one of them come to Milan !! lol
Milan had a great match today, winning 5-1 (Kaka 3, Inzaghi, Pato). Played well, Cafu looked young, Gourcuff, Pato and Simic came of the bench.
When we have a RB playing well, Milan plays well, and to me oddo, just doesnt make good crosses. Or maybe it not oddo, maybe because we do not have someone on the other end of the crosses as how cafu had inzaghi.
I think Alves is a must, he would be great, he is the next Cafu. I would even take Ramos, though i prefer him as a CB, i know he also plays RB, and with him falling out with Madrid, i would love to have him in Milan.
As for MR.X.Stricker i would prefer Eto'o to Drogba, and eto'o has played with Ronnie, and would have a history playing together, i have never been a fan of drogba, but i have seen many time where he is linked to a team in Milan. (if Mr.X is Drogba, it is a step up from Gila, as i acknowledge that Drogba is worldclass, but i just dont like him. I guess i would just have to deal with it.)
(Gila to me needs to leave, however said he must stay a next year, is mad, and should see a therapist, i personally blame it on him why we are in this position. I know we are an ageing team, but when paloschi, pato, even ronaldo is there, its different, we are able to score. Our problem is age, but more so lack of the ability to score, and who played most of the season, as the lone striker, GILA),

Btw, I can´t put a link here, but today in the transmission of the game between Milan and Regina, Neto, ex-Brazil NT and Corinthians player and currently TV commentator was talking about a trip to Milanello that he did some weeks ago for a TV special with Milan(brazilians) players...
Neto was asked about the rumours here in Brazil about Thiago Silva(Fluminense very good defender) going to Milan. He said that in his trip to Milanello, the only defender name that he heard there was of Alex (Chelsea). Since it wasn´t in any Italian newspaper(these weeks), and Neto didn´t elaborated more, I think this is a inside information(of a brazilian player)...who knows???
BTW, here(http://china.goal.com/br/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=634446 ) Alex is saying that he prefeer to go to a Smaller club and play every game, than to be a 3rd choice in Chelsea
If he wants a smaller club, then it is not Milan :)
Kidding, Alex is VERY welcomed in Milan as he is a fantastic player. To have him and Nesta would be like a wall.
Giovanni I do understand that Sheva will be back its just that I dont see how we will play Kaka', Ronaldinho ( ? ), Pato, Sheva, target man, Pippo, Seedorf... and keep a good atmosphere inside the locker room. Im not sure that it is possible. Unless Silvio is simply lying and our forwards will be Pato, Sheva and Pippo with Dinho and KAka' behind and Seedorf wearing his no.10 in Ajax!
a few pages ago someone was talking about having a dream about milan mercato :) well, last night i had a dream about Juve buying Sheva :eekani: and I was perfectly happy :)

If Sheva arrives we can say goodbye to Alex as he is also a non eu player, I think he is ??
EDIT: NO ONE IS A BETTER DESTRUCTIVE PALYER THEN GATTUSO. fullstop. In Europe there is no better player for that role. No Diarra, Vieira, Essien, no one. I think Berlusconi wasn't lying. Shevchenko is back at the condition to accept his new role: bench warmer. If he's better than the other players he will play, but he knows there are other players ahead of him.

A keeper and a target man, ok. But we both know that that will solve only 50% of our problems. Carlo is still ready to play Seedorf for 50 games per year and play Brocchi instead Yoan in San Siro small games...
Also, I dont thing that it is possible, or good to have so much forwards. Since so many people are online now, what are your taughts on Veloso and Moutinho
my take on chelsea's Alex, he used to play for me in Fifa 07, never bought him in 08, nor in Football Manager, though i did scout him.
Even though its just video games, i mean i dont think he is th best option, and really i dont want any other Brazilians except Alves.
If you are looking for a CB, look @ Kokampy, Metasacaker, Mexes (my 2nd choice), Ramos (my first choice), Barzaghi, Zapata, just to name a few.
Also every body talks about torres, and we all kno Liverpool os gonna do everything it can to keep him, what about David Villa, he is spanish and to me he is on the same level as torres

Commentators on French TV (they showed for the second W-E in row a Milan match !! Youhouuuuuuu lol) said Ancelotti will speak about mercato and the needs of the team with Galliani and that our "targets" will be known only at the end of this season.
Anyway, Galliani does exactly the same thing than last year lol: Ronaldinho comes, Ronaldinho dreams about Milan, BUT it's not sure that Ronaldinho will come and he won't meet Laporta on next days ... and there's a new Mister X, world-class striker, like last year.
Galliani just said on our official site during his post match interview that we are really in negotiations for Ronaldinho and Zambrotta but there's a significant difference between what we're offering and what they want. He also says for this reason, the negotiations will take a while. Not that we aren't used to that of course...

I don´t go to jump in the "brazilian" question...but reading your list, I´m sure you are evaluating players by the video games and not in reality:
Ramos: As a offensive RB he´s one of the best of the world, but as a CB he´s rubish. Always out position, low defensive awarenes. One funny thing about Ramos: He´s a better header in the offense than in defense, and this is horrendous for a CB...and I´m not even talking about the several times he leaves teammates in a bad situation because of stupids yeallow/red cards.
Mexes: Good player, but nothing more. Juan in one year plagued by injures is outplaying Mexes in every aspect of the game. Promising youngster that until today, doens´t full fill his potencial.
Kompany??? C´mon, the guy WHEN PLAY, is more of a DMD than a defender. Maybe in your video game he´s amazing, but in real life he´s an above average defender at best. Until today...
Metasacaker: Another one...can´t outplay Naldo(a brazilian defender) in Werder and he´s great??
Barzagli: It´s like me to say that Afonso Alves, a brazilian bald CF, goal scorer in Eredivisie, and play for Brazil NT is the new Ronaldo...
I just saw Zapata play one time, so I can´t judge him...
In real life, Alex played 2 year in Santos and was chose 2 times the best CB of Brazilian Champonship.
Three years in Eredivise, 3 times Champion and 3 times chose the best defender. BTW, after years without go to knockout rounds of Champions League, in Alex era, PSV goes 3 times to the knockout round, with PSV best weapon always being the defense. In the year after Alex leaves PSV(this year), the team didn´t go to knockout rounds...it´s not for kidding that Alex is a hero in Eindhoven.
Now in Chelsea, in a type of game that several thoughts would be hard for him because of the pace, and because players needs some time to adaptation. Besides that, he´s the defender that more played at Chelsea(injure´s help) this year. And until last week, Chelsea was the best defense of all big european leagues. Playing behind 2 Chelsea legends(Carvalho/Terry) Alex is outplaying Terry and with Carvalho is the best pair of the team(the numbers tell this) this year.
look, don´t take this post as a ofense, Payne...but since Alex was at Santos(and we linked to him) I was here in MM defending Alex of this prejudice with brazilian defenders...in the begining it was hard because he was unproven, but now, after all his achievments in Europe at only 25yo, the facts are at my side...and not only the facts, but respectable people in Football like Carlo, Capello, Mijatovic, Van Basten, Juve board, etc...

[QUOTE=mrki]If he wants a smaller club, then it is not Milan :)

Yep, we need a real big defender to pair with Nesta or Maldini. It´s unbelievble how weak we are in aerial game also, and Alex will help a lot in that area. The problem is, Alex is a non-euro player, and if this Sheva come back is real, I don´t see Alex coming even if Carlo wants, because Silvio is the boss.
This will be a BIG mistake, since imo, our big problem are in defense(RB, LB and CB) and in the midfield. We are always outrun and outplayed in the mid this year, and without a in form Gattuso because of injures, and a Ambrosini more slow, teams are really dominating our side.
Sure we can improve in with a great CF(Tony would be a dream), but if our purchases will be only for the ofensive side, it will be another nightmare season. We can score, period!! But we just can´t hold a lead, even against smaller teams...
I agree, We dont need more then Ronaldinho and one good forward. Our problem is that running potency of Rino-Pirlo-Ambro wasnt been good this year. Flamini could help in there.
Our fullbacks are horrible, period. they can play in Livorno and Siena, not milan.
If we, as Brasiliero says, do not change our fullbacks and our GK, and the tempo of our midfield, we can score as much as we want when we always conceede...

i'm pretty sure its Drogba.. right after Mourinho left Chelsea Drogba said he wanted to leave Chelsea and apparently he said he wanted to go to Milan to all his team mates, but it was only mid-way through the season, so he decided to take it back and stay put until the transfer market comes... it was also reported that he was in Milan having a cup of coffee with his agent and Galliani/Braida twice this year... he recently hasnt said any comments like that he's going to stay at Chelsea, but I think he is the guy they are talking about.
I don't like the fact that both Sheva and Drogba are coming, it should be one or the other and I think it should be Sheva for many many reasons. And besides does Drogba have European citizenship?

You´re right, mrki...
It´s curious how people see our flaws around the world. Here in Brazil, the majority of the press think like us. We are atrocious at fullback position, and very thin at CB. As we agree our mid can´t run with anyone in Europe or Serie A.
Goalkeeper: IMO Dida isn´t bad as people paint. He was amazing in our last run in Champions league and in the final against Liverpool. Said that, he´s old(for football) and as we saw this year, only deserves to play if 100% fit. So, we need a new keeper. Fiorentina will trade Gila for Frei, but for me it will be a mistake. Gila still has more value than Frei, period. BTW, the player that Fiorentina will to buy to replace Frei is Diego Cavallieri of Palmeiras. Diego is now a Eu-player(italian passport) and imo will be one of the best in Europe when start to play there...Milan needs to look at him.
Defence: kaladze and Bonera are good backups. With the purchase of Alex(15 MIL) and a italian youngster or squad player, we would be very good. Send Oliveira and CASH(he´s worth) for Daniel Alves and bring Zambrota for the left(where imo he belongs). A FIT Janku is a very good backup, and Cafu and Oddo also.
Alves(Oddo/Cafu)---Nesta(Alex)----Alex(Maldini, Kaladze)--Zambrota(JAnku)-
This is a amazing defense for any team in Europe.
Midfield: Roma needs money(and a CF) badly...so, trade Gilla and money if needed for Aquilani. Amazing talent and ready for our firts team. Like in NBA, you don´t trade big for small, so to trade Gila for a keeper and not for Aquilani will be a huge mistake(Giovanni, it´s true this rumour??). Get Flamini also would be great..one of the few players can match Gattuso running. A player to keep an eye is Keita of Sevilla, great atlent but isn´t a eu-player.
BTW , Renato is underused with the new Sevilla coach...class DMD and very underrated. He has spanish passport and would be a amazing backup.
Fowards: Pato will be even better, a real star. Pippo can play a few games and Paloschi also will be better. My dream purchase would be Tony, spend the money there!! If not, and Fabiano price and spanish passport is right, bring him. I´m not sold on Borrielo...he´s worth a look, but Paloschi has much less chances and proves more than him. Some players just don´t have the mentality for big clubs
We need to spend to be competitive, and imo to bring Alves, Zambrotta, Alex, Aquilani, Flamini and a CF is realistc(money), and would not hurt our chimestry.
GK: Diego Cavallieri, Dida/Kalac
Fullbacks: Daniel Alves; Zambrotta; Oddo; Janku and Cafu few good games like today and the trasition to retire. Besides, he´s Pato mentor in Italy
CB: Nesta, Maldini, Alex, Bonera, Kaladze and one italian youngster.
Midfield: Kaká, Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Aquilani, Flamini, Seedor(if he accept his new role), Gourcurf and Brocchi.
Fowards: Pato, Tony or L. Fabiano, Pippo, Paloschi, Ronaldo.
Imo, this is a amazing team :)
These Gattuso rumours are getting worrisome. There has to be some element of truth to it, it's even being mentioned in interviews (kaka) on the official site. It certainly doesnt seem like the club is pushing him out, seems like he wants to leave and teh club are trying to console him and talk him into staying.
My personal feeling is if he wants to leave, then we should just let him go---shows you how loyal he is, esp for a guy who's 2nd or 3rd in line for the captaincy. I know he's a great player and all, but surely we can get a more "complete" DM to fill his spot (Flamini and Diarra come to mind).
Any news from Italy about this? Gio--what are they saying in Italy?
guys i am having this thought that mr x is henry, he wants to leave 10 m is the estimated price tag, we were after him last summer, i guess he is the man in galliani's radar, honestly am not sure he is the right man in for us but still henry
o well.. great. we need another traitor after the last one is gone :rollani: lolz.. joking.. the main reason is more like i don't think that Henry will suits to play with Milan. he did played with Juve right? and Serie A just not suits his style. he needs to play fast football like EPL. but still great player IMO :respect: and never heard about he'd been linked to us :)

Back after my short trip and even though the market is quiet, it sure ain't here.
Gattuso, to be honest, if he really wants to leave, leave u pitbull, since there is no point for us cheering for a gloryhunter like you. If he does leave, it really shows what colors he is.
For defender, I really doubt Alex will be sold since he is doing well at Chelsea.
My dream purchase for defense are Canna and Zapata. With Lucio being third.
There is something I think might happens is that Mournho is going somewhere and he does want to bring Lampard and Drogba and both of them wants to follow him. But if I am Chelsea, I will never let the players follow JM. Thus, if Inter did sign JM to be their coach, Chelsea will probably sell us Lampard and Drogba and who ever that wants to follow JM to Milan just to piss Inter and JM off. Wouldn't that be interesting.

I must say that if we don't get Ronaldinho, Galliani should quit and never show his odious mug in public. What a loser. Not that I would be depressed if we don't get Ronaldinho, but failure to do so will heap more shame on this ridiculous management. Why does this imbecile Galliani get hopes up? For one summer, I wish we would just pay a bit more to land some decent players. You see what happens? The management pinched pennies last summer, and now we are struggling to make the Champions League, which could cost us more in the long run.

Ronaldinho move to Milan in doubt
Ronaldinho
Ronaldinho's season has been ended by injury
Ronaldinho's move to AC Milan could be in jeopardy as the Italian club have failed to agree a transfer fee with Barcelona during preliminary talks.
The 28-year-old Brazilian playmaker, who has been linked to Manchester City, has agreed personal terms with Milan.
However, the European champions' chief executive Adriano Galliani told Sky Italia: "We had a conference call. The figures haven't fallen into place.
"Maybe Ronaldinho won't come and a main striker arrives."
Former world player of the year Ronaldinho has had a difficult season at the Nou Camp.
He has been dogged by injury and fitness problems, starting only 13 of Barcelona's 30 league games, and earlier this month a leg injury ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
606: DEBATE
Is Ronaldinho past his best?
Milan need to boost their attacking options as Brazil striker Ronaldo is sidelined for a lengthy period with a knee injury, while 34-year-old Filippo Inzaghi is in the twilight of his career.
However, they face competition for Ronaldinho's signature as city rivals and Serie A leaders Inter Milan are also reported to be interested in the former Paris St Germain player.
Galliani said he did not believe Ronaldinho would be deterred by the prospect of playing in the Uefa Cup next season. AC Milan are currently fifth in Serie A, outside a Champions League place.
"Ronaldinho went to Barcelona when they were in the Uefa Cup. It happens to all the great European clubs, I hope it doesn't happen to Milan," added Galliani.
"Anyway, Ronaldinho is a Barcelona player, not a Milan player."

Just watched the highlights of Ricardo Oliviera in action with zaragoza where he scored 2 and assisted in 1. Looks like he's regaining his form and I think milan should bring him back next season. Wrt to ronaldinho - is Galliani so naive that he thinks he can sign the most marketable player on the planet at a less than hefty price ? For 35m pounds we can get a much younger Benzema !

From theguardian's Rumor Mill:
Even then that's nothing compared to the splurge Silvio Berlusconi has been contemplating over in Milan. The Rossoneri's lengthy shortlist currently features Sébastien Frey, Gianluca Zambrotta, Philippe Mexès, Andriy Shevchenko, Ronaldinho, Pele, Roy Race and several other players they won't end up signing. All of which will be thrown into sharp contrast when former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho rocks up at the San Siro, takes over Internazionale and immediately signs up Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba from Chelsea :D
Looks like they kno the Milan mgmt quite well :D

it seems Barcelona demands 50m E for both Dinho and Zambrotta while we offer just 20 m euros for both of them.it will be really long mercato for us in summer market.
if we cant manage to sign Dinho,we should sign a complete midfielder and a striker like Eto'o or Adebayor or Torres or Berbatov.
our priorities should be world class gk and world class side backs before strikers,Kalac is not WC also considering Milan doesnt think Dida in the squad next year,Cafu,Serginho and Favalli should leave and we must rejavunate the side backs with Zambrotta and one more side back like De Silvestri,Lell or Corluka or Rafinha.
off course we need a world class leader typee defender in defense as well, then a complete midfielder then a top class striker.

The more I read about this R10 saga, the more I believe we will actually land him this mercato...
The soap opera is playing out as predictably as they always do:
1. M indicates a love interest for R
2. R at first flirts, then says no to M´s advances, as R is happy with B
3. A whole year passes, with M still looking longingly at R, but no dice...R is "committed" to B
4. R falls out with B, and starts to flirt with M, as R is upset by all the younger more attractive people that B is so-called "working" with.
5. M and R try to get together, but B tries to win R back...or to make M´s life difficult, or both.
6. Finally, M and R do get together, leaving B to look for a younger, better version of R...or to play with the younger more attractive people B was already "working" with.
Plays out every week on ABC, CBS, NBC, or other free-to-air channels with soaps, on a tv near you.
Currently, we are at step 5...dont worry, stay tuned...in another few months, M and R will be on a honeymoon!!
You heard it hear first!!
:D
Oups I didn't explain my thought very well ... lol
I don't want Iaquinta in Milan, I just say that if one of the strikers is going to be sold in Juventus, it's going to be Iaquinta and not Trezeguet.
No way that one of them come to Milan !! lol
Actually, Juve are simply looking for another attacker, not for someone to replace the current attackers.
With Del Piero and Trezeguet being 34 and 31 when the new season will start, and with Iaquinta obviously not being someone who can lead the attack, Juve are after another attacker of top quality who will be rotated with the other three attackers.
The priorities in serie A will be set higher while Juve will have to play at least 8 more tough matches in CL next year. That's why, just like Inter are doing, Juve will need 4 attackers of top quality.
Inter and Juventus don't have players like Kaka and Seedorf so they can't allow to play with 2 or 3 attackers during the season.

Diavolo from xt has said that this is the latest news,
Galliani: "Never suggested in the past we were close to signing a deal with Barca, I simply pointed out we were very close to the player"
can anyone confirm this? Galliani really has some balls playing around with the Milanista's hearts.. after giving the fans a very mediocre team that will probably fail to make the CL, he is deceiving us and playing around with words with us.
As i said in the past, Juventus will go for Amauri, Flamini, Grosso and another one who i don't remember...

Ok, Hasan and hitmann....u guys are both intelligent, mature individuals, yet you seem to keep being upset by Galliani et al´s statements/activities with regard to our mercato....and I dont understand it.
Galliani, it must be remembered, says nothing without Berlu´s approval...puppet yes, unintelligent, no...Kaka, Rui Costa, MVB, Weah, $heva, Pippo, Pirlo, Seedof, Pato, etc etc, more than make up for the few Rivaldo´s, Simics, and Guglielmienpietro´s we have aquired in the past...so their track-record for me, in terms of overall quality of 20 years of aquisitions is still good.
Good ole "Uncle Fester" may have simply been telling the truth. We may have an agreement with the player, but as long as the player is under contract to a club, negotiations have to be successfully completed by the clubs, or, the player forces a move under Bosman, or some similar ruling in the past (where players over a certain age can buy out the remainder of their contracts).
Basically, R10 can buy out his contract and up and leave Barca for where ever he so chooses...so the most important thing is to have an agreement with the player, in this particular instance.
I am sure that Milan are trying to go this route as an absoloute "last option"...because of the damage it would do to relations between the clubs....and also because we are trying to get Zambrotta as well.
Its premature at this point IMO to make any judgement, or statements like:
must say that if we don't get Ronaldinho, Galliani should quit and never show his odious mug in public. What a loser. Not that I would be depressed if we don't get Ronaldinho, but failure to do so will heap more shame on this ridiculous management. Why does this imbecile Galliani get hopes up?...I mean comon bro! We have agreed terms with the player(s?), we now need to negotiate with the club..of course Barca didnt accept our first offer...they arent stupid either...and so we will haggle...I am sure we will...thats why they call them "negotiations"...and the window isnt even officially open yet, and I can understand Barca´s reluctance to confirm anything, with several important matches left to play in their season.
Galliani really has some balls playing around with the Milanista's hearts.. after giving the fans a very mediocre team that will probably fail to make the CL, he is deceiving us and playing around with words with us.
Bro...Galliani has told us that we were close to an agreement with the player..he has never mentioned being close to an agreement with Barca...I credit you with a tonload more intelligence than this post gives you....dont misconstrue things because of "what you want to hear"...
The bottom line for me is that the mercato isnt officially open yet, Chelski and Man City havent entered discussions with Barca either (as far as I know) so there is little, or nothing to worry about. If R10 has made up his mind to go to Milan, there is nothing Barca can do to stop him.
NOTHING.
These are just ordinary negotitions. I don't know why some of you guys are flipping out in mid April.
This is normal in every market not only in football. Ronaldinho wants Milan and Barca knows that. We have an agreement with Ronaldinho and that has been confirmed. Now.....it is only normal that Barca will demand double than what we offer. In the end we will probably meet somewhere in the middle of both numbers.
What do you people want to hear from Galliani........ooo Barca is asking for a lot but we can find a solution!.??? Of course he won't say that and he will go to the press and say that "numbers don't add up, we might not get Ronaldinho, we might change our objectives." These are all things that will lower the price and the deal might not be done untill later on in the summer.
It's easy for us to say just pay the money or if not be honest whether you are going to buy him or not. But for Galliani and Berlu it's a business and 10 mil Euro does make a lot of difference.

I hear what you're saying...but Galiani should just shut his mouth and get the deal done instead of saying,"Ronaldinho is 180% our player."
That makes it sound as if Galiani already had a set price in princile with Barca. When he hadn't even talked numbers with them. He should just shut up and get the job done, especially when we're talking about such a high profiled player.

That reason is to let Barca know exactly what the situation is regarding the player, and importantly to let the fans of both clubs know as well.
This places Barca in an unfavorable position, and one they will want to resolve as quickly, and quietly as possible....why are Barca in an unfavorable position? Barca gets 15M pounds (R10´s salary for the remaining years on his contract)..and egg on their faces. :diablo: ...where they could have earned 5-10M pounds more, and offloaded Zambrotta as well...

Fiorentina will trade Gila for Frei, but for me it will be a mistake. Gila still has more value than Frei, period. Like in NBA, you don´t trade big for small, so to trade Gila for a keeper and not for Aquilani will be a huge mistake(Giovanni, it´s true this rumour??)
I read your post, and i think your choices were good. But the flaw in your scenario is that you don't consider that many of the clubs that owns the players (for ex. Alex) won't let the players go.
I think Gila right now has not the same value he had three seasons ago. Now his current value is lower than Frey. If we'd get 15 millions for him i'd be satisfied.

Hasan, calm down. We must pay attention to the market protocol. Now Barca is asking the moon, as we say in Italy. They asked big moneys, but they know they can't ask for such a big amount. They know it because Ronaldinho can use the FIFA art. 17 rule, and get free for 15 m. Milan won't use that clause, but surely they can't ask for more than 25 m. It's market strategy. Things will get clear in the next weeks. The deal is long, but Ronaldinho WILL leave Barcelona.

Is that the same strategy that led them to tell us last year that Suazo was on his way and then ended up like :dontkn:.
Further, I really think we're going to land him also. But don't under estimate Moratti and Nike. Their offer is/will be massive, and as quickly as a player says I want to play here, he can just as quickly state he's changed his mind and play somewhere else. And where would that leave Galiani and his 180%? Here... :987:

Maybe Moratti, but no way Nike will influence the deal. Name me a player that moved to a club for sponsors influence. This is a urban mercato legend that pops up when big players move to other clubs.
Another urban legend: players won't come to Milan cause we play UEFA. Ronaldinho went to Barcelona when they had to play UEFA. Toni and Ribery either. You just have to pay them 15% more.

I don't think it works exactly that way...I think what happens is, Nike is commiting lets say 180 million over 5 years, (I just through out that number I don't know how close it is) I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for them to say we'll give you an extra 15 million (or whatever) to help you catch Ronaldinho to make sure he keeps on wearing the Nike Jersey on the field.
Because as soon as he dawns the Milan Jesery Adidas sales will go through the roof selling his shirt and Nike will feel it.
I could be totally wrong, but big business works just like that behind the scenes. We don't see it or hear about it but we'd be silly not to think it happens.

If I own my company and in the past I was amazing at delivering the service/or product and then now there is a drop. People who are getting taking in my service or product would stop and say this is not what it used to be what happened.

On this part i agree, but i have something to add.
From what i read, Ronaldinho's sponsors, not just Nike, want a maximum tv coverage for Dinho, where he'll be seen by billions weekly, and that is something that only ChL and the EPL can guarantee.
This is why it was said in the press, during the last week, that they are all waiting to see will Milan qualify for CL or not.
For the money they are paying to him, his sponsors want him popular, ever-present on the screen, winning a lot and selling their products.
Eventhough it's true what you say above, it's being said that Ronaldinho is a different case and that he's indeed a slave of the corporations that pay +80% of what he earns yearly.

[QUOTE=Giovanni]I read your post, and i think your choices were good. But the flaw in your scenario is that you don't consider that many of the clubs that owns the players (for ex. Alex) won't let the players go.
To be honest, I took this in consideration.
Of my list, I have my doubts with Tony and Aquilani. All reports I read has Tony saying that he want to go back to Italy, and I remember a quote of Galianni saying that last year we have a agreement with Tony. Sure for B. Munich money isn´t problem, but if he wants to come back...
Aquilani: I read that he and F.T. aren´t the best friends(true??), and the periodicals are saying that Roma has a debt balance of 300 Millions of euros. They are saying that despite the father Sensi wants to sell the club, he´s daughter don´t. So, Gilla(they need a CF) and money makes sense for a club in a bad financial situation. Of course if I was talking about toti and De Rossi this would not count...
Regarding Alex, last year I read Chelsea didn´t accepted a Real Madrid and Juve bid for Alex, because Mourinho wants him in London. But I can´t see Alex staying one more year being a 3rd choice. He already said before Brazil X Sewden game in London that has great relationship with the coach, club and teammates but wants to play the BIG games. BTW, Chelsea just bought CB Ivanovic(sp?)...so, or they will sell Carvalho or Terry(2 Chelsea legendes) or Alex will ask to go out. IMO it´s impossible for any team to keep 3 great CB happy if you don´t play a 3 man defense, or one of them play fullback.
I think Gila right now has not the same value he had three seasons ago. Now his current value is lower than Frey. If we'd get 15 millions for him i'd be satisfied.
While I agree with the bold part and in the price, Frey isn´t a Buffon or (old) Dida level of goalkeeper. Fiorentina is already talking to Palmeiras trying to buy Diego Cavallieri and will trade Frey for Gilla in heart beat. Despite Gilla bad form in the last 3 years, he also show glimpses of his Parma time, and I think that in Roma or even Fiorentina he will produce one more time.

I dont agree with Tony that sponsors can influence his decision, maybe they can help the EPL clubs or Inter to higher their offer but it will not change Ronaldinho's decision to join Milan even if it is the UEFA cup.
I agree with Anonymous that Galliani should never say things like "Sheva and Dinho are 180% Milan players"..one, because his maths is embarrasing...two, we are supposed to be a team that never takes anything for granted, I mean even after an agreement with the club and player is in place, Galliani should still say "We are still working on it, we will see what happens".
Warro you are right maybe we over-reacted at such an early stage, but I think this anger towards Galliani has been looong coming after his transfer policy in recent years. They chose to ignore the riots of the Milan fans when they said Milan isnt doing anything in the transfer market because they thought they were right, and now look where Milan is. Galliani's poor decisions on the market last year has not only harmed Milan for the 2006/2007 season, but also for the 2007/2008 season and some historical records have been broken.. for example, Milan used to be proud to be a team that has never been eliminated at the San Siro in the CL, that record is gone now..
I am not saying he has been an utter failure at Milan, I am just saying he should start managing more appropriately.. He should do his business and keep his mouth shut instead of giving false hope. Him saying Dinho is 180% our player can only have a negative affect, as now Barcelona know that Galliani will do all he can to get the player, so Barca will try to milk as much money as they can off him. I dont see any good Galliani is doing when he says Ronaldinho is 180% our player or we are close to Ronaldinho.
I dont agree with Tony that sponsors can influence his decision
That's not something i say. That's something i've been reading these days.
Frankly, i have no idea how much the sponsors can influence a transfer :)
People, " Shevchenko and Ronaldinho are 180% Milan players" means that they are 90% Milan players each...
If Milan has an agreement with Ronaldinho, and it really looks like it has, I dont see Ronaldinho moving else. milan is not just a club that plays in EUFA cup like Smapdoria, Everton, Sevilla... Milan is the most titled club in the world with brazilians and Berlusconi's money to pay wages. If Ronaldinho has decided Milan will be his next club, the clubs will eventually find a balance and everything will be ok. That is what I think. We have offered a sum that noone can accept!!! Ronaldinho and Zambrotta are two WORLD CLASS PLAYERS, and we need to pay more.
My fear is that we will spend hwole summer doing that and will miss on players like Flamini, Frey, Aquilani, Toni ( ? ), Alves, Mexes...

Besides Mexes and Frey, I agree 100%...Ronaldinho, Zambrotta and a new CF will not put us in the top again. Our midfield can´t steal the ball or compete with the pace of other big teams(mostly in second-half), and our defence is a joke.
I hope that like in the past, Galliani&Co are keeping our real trasference police hide...because if we don´t revamp our defence(CB and FB) and MID, it will be hard to win anything

Its premature at this point IMO to make any judgement, or statements like:
...I mean comon bro!
NOTHING.
This is all fine and dandy, but we're not a club that pays a little more to get our man--at least not recently. Barcelona are asking for too much, I know. So, don't be surprised if another club swoops in and buys Ronaldinho. Yeah, and I know how the game is played. But I also know that last summer was bitterly disappointing for Milan fans, and a lot of it can be attributed to management talking without delivering. We needed some serious reinforcements, but we got a talented 18-year-old not yet ready to bear so much responsibility. All I can say is that I don't trust anything Galliani says. He is the right hand man to one of the most dishonest men in Italy (I'm sorry if this offends anyone). I don't mind if we haggle, but in recent summers we have lost players as well. Hopefully it will be different this time.

Hasan, a suggestion. Talk about football. Talking about other countries politics is always dangerous.
Fair enough. It was a passing remark. I am sorry if it offended your sensibilities, political or otherwise.
It's a very technical and difficult subject.
I couldn't tell you until i accurately study the subject for the test.
Basically i can tell you that sportive societies and associazioni sportive have a favourable fiscal regime.
Regarding plusvalences, normal societies can choose between an immediate declaration of the plusvalence all in one time or to split the same plusvalence over a certain number of years, at the condition they owned the good which produced a plusvalence for three years.
Sportive societies can split the plusvalence even if they owned the good for just one year. The "goods" in this case are football players and it is a favourable fiscale regime for them. Don't ask me more.
They fool the fiscal authorities because they own a player for just one year; then they sell him to another club, getting a plusvalence. But they decide to split this plusvalence over a longer number of years instead of declaring the plusvalence for the years it was realised.
My english knowledge can't go farer than this, and this is a very technical subject. That's all i can tell you.
I read this just now.
Being more than a week late.....Thank you Giovanni

He shouldn't even say that. They freakin posted on the official website that Suazo was ours, his agent even said he was coming. I don't want to hear no 50%, 180% or 200% from these clowns. Just surprise us on the last day of the season with Ronadinho & Zambrotta (who I think will flop here and be Oddo part II) sitting next to Berlu in the luxury boxes. And when the game is done, present him to the fans. Or something like that.
At the same time like I said in my earlier post...I believe Galiani is doing the right thing by not paying Barca's asking price. We need to purchase so many other young "quality" players to through the bank for Ronaldinho would be foolish.

I have read again with surprise the continued disquiet about R10 and Galliani....
The consensus seems to be that:
Galliani should shut up, and present R10 when he is already signed, and that by not meeting Barca's demands, Chelski, the Merda and Man City, will all swoop in and make. 50M pound bids for the player....and get him as a result.....
What, if anything did we learn from the Suazo debacle? That Galliani and co are idiots? No. What u all should realise is that even if u have an agreement with the club, it means nothing without a deal with the player.
Now, we have this agreement with R10 and his agent...(the correct way fwd IMO)....but are haggling with Barca over price...which again is prudent...as why should we pay what they are asking, when if worst comes to worst, they will be the ones more likely to lose?
R10 has made it clear that he wants Milan, and not Man City, not Inter, and not Chelski...therefore, unless he isn't a man of his word (don't kno, but going to take the risk and say he is), we have nothing to worry about.
For, as the Suazo case shows, in this era of player-power, a player can refuse to go to a club not of his choosing, come transfer time...
Further, by making some aspects of the negotiation public, Galliani has put more pressure on Barca....
But no...he talks too much, we r going to lose R10 to Man City, and we r going to get only out of contract over 30s in this mercato.
Oh, and get relegated next year since Kaka will leave us because we will be in the intertoto cup (Samp will overtake us for 5th)....enuf doom and gloom for yah?
Chill out. Its only April.
Im confident we will sign Ronaldinho, but even if we dont sign him, we cant let Zambrotta go to other club. To have him in Milan would mean great strenght on one of the flanks. Gattuso and Zambrotta on the right would mean no passing through :)
To conclude what Im trying to say, and Brasiliero also, beore I go to class ( aldough its raining and I really dont feel like it...) :)
Milan has a team that lacks at least 6 quality players, and if we want to have competitive team, considering that next year refs will probably be the same as this season, Inter and Juve will be stronger and so on...we need to invest properly. We cant fool uvrselves that buying Ronaldinho and Drogna will solve our problems.
I will say again: we dont need any new CB's for next seasn, we have Nesta, KAladze, AMldini, Bonera. its enough.
We need 2 new fullbacks and Ancelotti's game has always depended on fullbacks since we dont have a single winger. Zmabortta is one, and we need another one, I dont know who. Flamini can laso play as a LB, but he will refuse that for sure.
------------frey-------------
-zambrotta-nesta-kaladze-LB---

--------------CF( Toni is my wish )----------
Depth is what wins scudetto. In this team we have Seedorf, Pato, ambrosini, Gourcuff, Jankulovski, Oddo, Pippo, Bonera on the bench, and that is the real team. If we rely on players like Favalli, EWmerson, Brocchi, Gilardino, Paloschi we can say goodbye to scudetto before it even begins, its clear. 6 new palyers is not too much for AC milan, even if one of them is Ronaldinho. We have some players to sell also: Oliveira, Boriello, Gilardino, Emerson, Dida... Sergio, Cafu, Ronaldo cant play anymore, Simic and Digao are useless ( aldough I love Adrio as a professional).
We have a complicated situation, but Silvio made it so by his own (non) reactions at mercato. To invest 100mln for palyers like Frey, Vargas, Zambrotta, Flamini, Ronaldinho, Toni is normal thing, as Bayern did this year. Milan's backbone is world class ( Nesta, Kaladze, MAldini, pirlo, rino, Ambro, Kaka', Pippo, Pato), but they play too much and the level of fitness is not right becouse of that.
News about 2 players Milan are after.
The first rumor is a complete BS one because Juve are not after him and imo the deal is done and the player will go to Milan for sure, but there might be some true in the second one, even though Blanc could have done it without the comment about Milan.

Juve consider Zambro return
Tuesday 22 April, 2008
Barcelona defender Gianluca Zambrotta could be set for a sensational return to Juventus according to the Spanish Press.
The 31-year-old left the Bianconeri for £9m in the summer of 2006 after the Turin giants were relegated for their part in the Calciopoli scandal.
The Catalan daily newspaper Sport has revealed that Juventus have, along with Milan, registered their interest in taking the World Cup winner back to Italy.
The former Bari star has made 75 appearances for Barcelona in two seasons and has only a Spanish Supercup medal to show for it.
Zambrotta, who was made honorary President of hometown club Como in December 2006, has been itching for a move all season.
Milan are still favourites to sign the two-time Scudetto winner given that many Juve fans still feel betrayed by Zambrotta's hasty departure two years ago.

Blanc Confident Of Signing Flamini
Juventus managing director Jean-Claude Blanc says he is confident of pippin AC Milan to the signing of Matthieu Flamini, and reveals that the Arsenal midfielder was a supporter of the Bianconeri as a child.
It is looking increasingly likely that French star Flamini will be leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old, who is now regarded as one of Europe’s best defensive midfielders, has still to sign an extension to his Arsenal contract that runs out in June.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, who has given Flamini a deadline to sign up or leave, is now almost resigned to losing him.
Juventus and Milan are the two main teams tussling for his signature, but it is the former who are believed to be in pole position.
“We have the advantage,” said Blanc.
“As a child Flamini was a supporter of Juve. We have a sporting project in place, and we will be in the Champions League. Milan will not.”
Flamini, who has Italian ancestry, has stated on numerous occasions in the past that it is his intention to play in Serie A at some point of his career.

Interesting Tony, but it is just media talks in my opinion.
I do agree with you about Zambro as he probably signed with Milan and as for Flamini, I really think he is heading to Spain where the money is.

A few things on today's mercato. According to tribal, Braida
is looking to strike deals for Zapata and Pablo Granoche. Zapata is fairly well known on these boards but I presume a few may be wondering about Granoche. I don't know too much about him myself, but he's been successful in South America prior to joining Triestina in Serie B, where he's scored 5 goals in 7 games so far. He's a 24 yr old Uruguayan.
Looks like Juve are hot favourites to get Flamini, which I can believe could be possible as it seems he wants CL football next season and Zambro is also targeted by Juve (I don't see it happening tbh). Both have been sourced by Tony.
Finally, there's rumours (goal.com was where I read it) about Adebayor coming. Apparently us and you guessed it, Juve, have both shown interest in him. According to his agent, who spoke of the interest, he'll provide similar
qualities to Drogba, but at 24, has time on his side.
Onto discussions here about Dinho. I've said some of my thoughts about the Dinho negotiations in the thread dedicated to him, but figure i'll give my two cents on the argument over Galliani's comments. I think one factor that has been missed is the timing of when all the rumours sprang up everywhere along with Galliani's comments, both of which came around the time of the elections in Italy (as we all know Berlu has since won). Berlu has always used Milan for political gain, and he seems to have done it again, and I'm pretty certain that's why we heard such strong rumours of Dinho and Sheva. That isn't to say the comments may not bite him in the backside later on (should the deal fall through), or gain a stronger position during negotiations, but i think most likely the comments were to strengthen Berlu's electoral campaign.

This kid has been exceptional at Milan and however scored 8 goals until now and most of them were decisive for us getting 3 points or 1 pont, why we need to bench him?also consideiring he needs to play with regularity to be better player year after year.he is still 18 off course i also doubt if he can play as a wall in attack but he is the prince of the Ancelotti and i dont see him benching Pato.
also i'd rather to have a player like Aquilani or Moutinho or Hamsky than Flamini in first line up,Gattuso and Flamini same typee of players and however there is no need to play them togehter,if Rino leaves,i dont believe if Flamini is at his calibre to replace Rino,Only Toulalan and Essien is capable of replacing Rino if you ask me.
Our midfield needs a complete central midfield who can play 2 part of the game and have continuity, creative and quick than Flamini typee player,as Kaka Leite is less decisice when he doesnt find enough space, considering this factors,Milan had better to sign this kind of player.

Finally Zapata, hahaha, the people have finally spoken, now all I have to do is convince everyone here that Milan should sign me. It will be a free transfer, I will be turning 30, (just like Drogba), I am 182(tall), 224pounds(power) and I don't mind sitting on the bench. That actually sounds like one of those Galli's signing.
Back to Zapata, if he comes, that would be really great as it will complete the defense as it will allows Carlo to move Kaladaze back to LB. Thus, with Zambro coming.
Milan will have Oddo and Zambro as RB, with Bonera as emergency.
CB will be Nesta and Zapata with Maldini and Bonera as backups.
LB will be Janku and Kaladaze with Maldini as emergency.
And if Milan calls back that kid from Empoli and with Darrian maturing. Milan defense will be set. Well, if Milan sign Grosso, that will just be better.
No more comment from me from Flamini b/c I wrote about it half an hour ago.
As for Adebayor, I think he might be the one that people here will want instead of Drogba b/c he is younger and just as good. Well, I will be happy to have either one but I think Milan will end up with Drogba, as Chelsea would just like to piss Mournho off by offloading Drogba to us and Lampard to Juve.

Good points Dev....the first post IMO to make me have any doubts about my position on the R10 soap opera.
While I totally agree with u re Berlu possibly using him as a ploy to get more votes, I will continue to believe my version...until such time as its proven wrong (i.e. R10 signs for Man City etc.) :D while holding on to the more positive visualisation of a Ka-Pa-R10 trident in our scudetto winning season next year.

I don't disagree that he said those things to put pressure on Barca (I said the same in the Dinho thread), but I simply think the main objective of the 180% comment was to help Berlu first and foremost.

I've heard today that Lahm from Bayern Munich have turned down a new contract offer from them and is set to leave. His contract runs out in 2009. Good alternative to Zambrotta.

Zapata ??? GREATTTTTTT BRING IT !!!!!
Is this lad good enough to be a starter? In recent years Udinese has a tradition of bringing unknown players from all over the world, yet nobody really turn out to be a real big name. A couple of years ago some major clubs were closely watching on Felipe, including us, but after his injury's healed he's just not the same promising player anymore.
I'll humbly say this. We will sign Zapata and Drogba.

Of all the players linking to Milan, I must admit, the R10 is great, Sheva coming back is good, Drogba signing is unreal, but the one I want the most is actually Zapata.
B/c I believe he will be a great CB learning from Maldini and NEsta.
Imagine this is what will happen in the summer for us.
In: Frey, Zapata, Zambro, Grosso, Diarra(well if he is links with INter, why not us!), Aqualini, Flamini, R10, Drogba, Borrellio and Sheva
Out: Dida, Simic, Cafu, Serginho, Favalli, Brocchi, Emerson, Seedorf, Gila and Ronaldo.
Cheers
Is this lad good enough to be a starter? In recent years Udinese has a tradition of bringing unknown players from all over the world, yet nobody really turn out to be a real big name.
Zapata is only 21 and he played more than 100 matches for Udinese (around 80 of them in serie A).
I'm not surprised at all that Milan want him because the kid plays like an experienced 30 yo defender. Tactically and tecnhically Zapata is perfect defender and in many aspects he reminds a lot of the greatest Milan defenders.
He's calm, always on the right spot, close to impossible to pass through him and yet he plays clean, without Matrix-like fouls.
Last year he was pure brilliance. This year i didn't follow him much but i watched few matches that Udinese played without him and i noticed how their defense falls apart without him.
If he stays injury free then there is no doubt at all that his name will be put among the best defenders of the next decade.

and about the players leaving.. why including Seedorf and Gila?
i know the reason about Gila.. but SEEDORF??

Every day I read how Flamini is "closer" to Juve....and Milan are mentioned less and less....I confess that this worries me.
Indeed, I would b more disappointed if we don't get the young Frenchman, than if we don't sign R10, as Rino and Max are getting on in age, and a more youthfull option is necessary....and unless we have some promising primavera player that I don't kno about, Flamini represents for me, the best option in this mercato.
Well....let's see what the rumors are on about today.....
Who knows, maybe we will hear that Cambiasso and Mascherano both want to join Milan :D
I can clear that out for you Warren. Flamini is Juve.
We will get another one that is equally good. So I've accepted it.
Being linked with Zapata was really great, i hope we sign him. A Zapata & Nesta partnership would be fantastic.
I also read (in Italian i might add, so i might be getting this wrong) that we offered Ramos 7 million a season and he apparently said this was a tempting offer. How crazy would that be!
Anyway

Today's there's some interesting news. It seems more and more realistic that Flamini is Juve bound after yesterday's comments from Gigli.
Something I missed off in my post yesterday is Gattuso's agent's comments, as he feels confident Rino wants to stay.
Lahm almost certainly won't be renewing his contract at Bayern (Bayern official site) and has said he wants to play abroad, though I've not seen any rumours about him coming to Milan yet (probably be reading about Milan's interest tomorrow).
Ramos is the big story as far as we're concerned today (story is from Corriere Dello Sport), as he's been disappointed with Real and apparently we've prepared an offer. To the rumours about us going after him, he has said "The interest of Milan makes me happy". An interesting rumour and response.
Tuttosport apparently says Braida has held talks with Adebayor's agent and Galliani wants to go ahead with the transfer, apparently as it is a compromise between what Berlu wants (Sheva) and what Carlo wants to progress with (Pato and Paloschi). The compromise part doesn't make any sense to me if I'm honest, but the signing I feel would be positive.
Again from Tuttosport, Milan is apparently interested in Hleb now. Doubt there's much to this one, but again an interesting rumour (vice Kaka? or maybe an alternative option to R10?).
Finally, I'll go back to the Zapata rumours yesterday. There's more said about it today, but the interesting part is Braida's conducting the talks. For those not in the know, Braida was an ex-Udinese player and apparently has excellent relations with the club. Personally, this is the rumour today that I hope has most truth to it.
A couple more to add after reading calciomercato.com
The first is we're apparently after Robert Aquafresca of Genoa.
The second is about Vargas, who many (including myself) were hoping Milan would go after. Apparently he looks almost certain to join Napoli now, at a cost of 8 million euros.
lahm is simply great and he is 27 i think .... but anyone tell me the seriousness of his injuries
He's 24.
Signing Lahm for free would be so good transfer that it can even be described! Having Lahm and Zambrotta on the flanks is a really super power. This solution I've never thought of as I've never thought Lahm will leave Bayern so soon. If we have any chance we need to go for this player.
Zapata reminds me of Ivan Cordoba from Inter, a player that, for a 21 year old, play extraordinary defence. We will see aguess, but those are all great players that are better then Oddo, Marek, Cafu, Sergio, Bonera, Simic and so on...

Thats ACMILAN1983 for the updated.
Why Napoli Vargas, why????? We could have sign him and Zapata.
The one thing I find interesting is that Brida is the one who is being link with Zapata and not Galli, which from my records, where ever Brida or Leonardo name is mention with a player, that player will play for Milan. Lets just hope this streak continues with Zapata and Adebayor.
As for Flamini, I know he is great but I don't see Juve needing him, as they already have Zennetti, Sissoko and that new kid. Anyhow, I think Aqualini from Roma is better, lets hope we get him instead.
Lastly, why Helb if we have Dinho????
Cheers guys

mrki, Lahm's contract runs through to 2009, so he won't be free (unless we wait, but there is likely to be a lot of competition for him).
No problem Gabriel.
I've mentioned why I think Vargas wasn't a target for Milan before (Roma were after him), but I think Napoli are favourites as they seem to have a great relationship with Catania, who openly admitted Napoli will be given priority as they like the way they are headed.
Galliani and Berlu do the big name transfers, but Braida tends to do most of the dirty work of our transfers, meaning he is usually the guy that seems to negotiate and manage smaller transfers (not the megastars so to speak, though he will often get involved), after which Leo usually sorts out the paperwork. Kaka is a prime example, where Braida oversaw the transfer process and convinced Kaka and Sao Paolo (according to Kaka), with Leonardo later stepping in to seal the deal. Leonardo's part can't be diminished, but Braida laid out the foundations.
Zapata reminds me of Ivan Cordoba from Inter, a player that, for a 21 year old, play extraordinary defence.
Zapata at 20 is twice the player Café Colombia were at that age...
Zampa eyes Amauri-Gattuso swap Wednesday 23 April, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has sensationally proposed an Amauri-Gennaro Gattuso exchange with Milan.
The Rosanero have had confirmed negotiations with Juventus over Amauri, but their patron thinks he’d be better elsewhere.
“I don’t want to judge Milan’s transfer policy, but with Kaka and Alexandre Pato, I don’t think Ronaldinho can be a useful signing,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“We are talking about a player of undoubted value whose name excites the fans, but when you focus only on making the supporters happy then you don’t work for the good of the team.
“Perhaps a hitman like Luca Toni, Didier Drogba or Amauri should be a priority for the Rossoneri.”
Zamparini said this week that the only offer he had received was from Juventus, so this was a clear public invite for Milan to join the race.
His interest in the Rossoneri does not limit itself to strikers, as the patron also commented on reports Gattuso is ready to move on.
“We must keep our transfer targets hidden so they do not escape, but I dream of Gattuso in the Rosanero jersey.”
The World Cup winner has been linked with a new challenge at Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Manchester United, but could be tempted into a surprise switch.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, he's certainly changed his tune hasn't he. One minute Zamp says we'd be the last team he'd sell Amauri to and now he's encouraging us to bid for his star player.
Obviously this is just a ploy to make Juve pay more money and although he talks about Gattuso in a Rosanero shirt, it's nothing to do with a swap deal at the moment.
It's clear what we must do if Gattuso wants to leave. We swap him for Amauri and still buy Ronaldinho & Adebayor. Playing Kaka, Ronaldinho & Adebayor and having Pato & Amauri on the bench! :delol: :rotfl:

I will bet that the transfer window will close and we will still be in negotiations for players...35 mil is too much according to the people who said they had 100 mil put aside for R10... Gone are the days when Milan gets who they want... We seem to cant fend of competition in the transfer...
Who did we compete against for KAKA, Sheva & Nesta?

Is it true that Berlu is stepping down?
Yes. Due to his election to Prime Minister of Italy.

Going back home for a couple of weeks, I bet you guys when I'm back here that you guys will be still be cursing Galliani for not having signed Dinho and Zambro yet. Let's hope we win the next 2 games against Livorno and Inter... we haven't won anything this year but a win against Inter will do just fine if it costs them the Serie A :)
but a win against Inter will do just fine if it costs them the Serie A :)
There is another side of the coin here. If Inter beat you they will officially win the scudetto with these 3 points and they'll 99.99% (or even 100% if Fiorentina win the next 2 matches) take the CL away from you.
They can win a lot with this match. They can officially win the scudetto and officially put you out of CL.
Actually, they can't stop talking about this option in their forums. :p1510:

Milan need a big Mercato this summer. First of all regarding the possible transfer of R10 coming Milan. I think its a done deal. As soon as the mercato begin he will be unvielled. He will be a massive signing for the club and will enjoy huge revenue from this signing. And like many of u guys mentioned R10 arrival will help brasil.
I hope that we can include Zambro in the deal. He had a great day today.
After R10 is sealed I wanna see additions made to the back line . Zapata would be a great signing. He would cost the world and would bring plently of Serie A experience. Now being linked to S. Ramos is something that really excites fans. Great player. Would solve our right back problems.
One things us fans need to do is remain calm as the mercato has not yet started though I do hope the Milan board are working hard on our transfer targets.

Nah, they need another 10 years like that so that we stop laughing from the past 20 years on inters shame :)
Piersilvio Berlusconi:
He wouldn't take Ronaldinho ... and would invest on more players in different roles on the pitch (exactly what is said here generally lol).

Rumours of Milan being interested in Real Madrid's Ramos are back. I think he would be, although quite expensive, a great signing for now and for the future.
This would be ok for me, regarding players in during the summer:
Frey, Ramos, Vargas, Aquilani, Diego, Ronaldinho, Drogba.
Is it true that Berlu is stepping down?
But don't mistake yourselves. Silvio will still have big influence on Milan.

Quieter than the last few days today, but a little news, most of which has already been mentioned here.
Aquafresca isn't likely to join Milan, both him and his agent dismissed the rumours (tribal and goal.com). Can't say I ever wanted him.
Amauri has been offered to us for Gattuso (pretty much on every football news site around). Amauri is a decent player, but I'd rather we didn't deal with morons.
Zambrotta (I think I read it on tribal) has said neither him or Dinho have packed their bags yet, and nothing will happen until the season is over. He's looked positive of late when playing (especially last night), so there's still a lot of hope to get him to his best if we get him (still hoping we can get him).
Finally, all sorts of comments about the Dinho transfer. Apparently we won't pay more than around 30m euros for him and Zambro, but of course Barca are asking for much more. Then there's Man City apparently outpaying us for him, Inter apparently still in with a shout and now even Spurs are apparently back in the running. Then there's Piersilvio's comments of us not needing him (though he will welcome him), and to be fair, he's right, as Dinho is not a necessity. That said, we've never been a club to just buy the necessities under Berlu, we always look to buy the necessities and then add the cherries on top.
However, the big news today (pretty much on all news sites, I saw it on goal.com) is Bronzetti's comments about the transfer, as he is saying the transfer is far from over. Bronzetti says the Barca officials spoke to him first and he broke the news to Milan management. He agrees the price is way too high, but says that after dealing with Barca in the past, he knows they tend to initially ask for double of what they're normally looking for. The comments from Berlu and Galliani don't sound promising, but Bronzetti, who's generally been pretty honest when questioned in the past, clearly thinks there's a very strong chance it will go through.
I will bet that the transfer window will close and we will still be in negotiations for players...35 mil is too much according to the people who said they had 100 mil put aside for R10... Gone are the days when Milan gets who they want... We seem to cant fend of competition in the transfer...

R10's market value has plummeted in the last year, so much so that he isn’t worth half of what he was a year ago. Barca are clearly more desperate to sell after the problems this year and that puts Milan in a strong position, as we know if Barca keep him there’s a strong possibility that at 29 next summer he could go for peanuts if he has another year like this one, which is a strong possibility in Barca (never mind the insane cost on his salary). Last summer was different, as he was coming out of a less than brilliant season by his standards, but one where he was still amongst the top performers in La Liga.
It’s a little like the stock market. Back in 2006 when Dinho was at his peak, his market value was incredible, and for Barca to sell him would have been pretty much insanity (like shares that were worth a fortune but it still being too early to sell). A year later, in 2007, his market value had suddenly dropped, but he was still a highly valuable asset that still had potential of recovery. However, since then, his value has been dropping rapidly, with no signs of recovery and is essentially in freefall. In such a situation, most people who are involved in the market would look to sell their shares immediately, before they’re bust and all is lost. Barca are in essentially the same situation.
For Milan, who clearly know the market well, it would be just plain stupid to pay his previous market value.
I have never followed the story, Dev, and will be great if you expalin it to me: What happens to dinho this year exactly?
I believe Ronaldinho's value is right now around 30-35 mln. Yes, it is not too much in my honest oppinion. Ronaldimnho is probable the most talented palyer in the world who is not seriously injured ( like Ronaldo ), is 28 and can play in every club in the world. Also, the player will pay for himself through attendance, shirts and so on...
Zambrotta has shown ( to those who didnt believe me and Giovanni ) that he is one of the best, if not the best, fullback in the world. He cant be beaten 1 on 1. Out of 10 duels he wins 8/9.
Those two players are unbelievable palyers and I hope Berlusconi will pay what Barcelona ios asking for. 40 mln for both would be somewhere in between and it is a afir price, if not even too low.
Seedorf has palyed his football as a starter, he cant play more then 20 games per season at the highest tempo ( if is rotated). And if he is not rotated he can play TEN games at the highest tempo, which he has shown this year. Yes, he is a player of true quality and vision, but the tempo of the game eats him alive.
Players like Cigarini, Dessena, Aquilani, Montolivo, Flamini are welcomed as our duo/trident Pirlo-Rino-Ambvro cant play whole season long and Brocchi and emerson dont belong here.
milan needs freshness and quality so that our real stars can shine ( rino, Pirlo, Kaka', Pato, Nesta, Kaladze, Ambro...).
Adebayor - no. Savage player that doesnt belong in Milan class behaviour. But a good player indeed.
I think it is quite sad to see Gaucho decline in Spain. He has been so happy there.
For us... God, if we can restore that talent. Who knows? Scudetto maybe...

Hopefully what we're all hoping. :ilol:
I totally agree with ACMILAN1983's last post ...
Other thing, I didn't know Piersilvio Berlusconi before 1-2 weeks ago (I even didn't know he was on Earth) but it seems like he has a very critical vision of the transferts, I mean, he analyzed what was needed etc and seems to know what he speaks about ... now I understand why some people want him to be the next owner after Berlu senior lol.

Even during this season he said few times that some players do not belong in Milan naymore. he even mentioned some names: Dida and Gilardino, in the middle of the season.
tough guy :)
EDIT:
But another thing that is ahppening, and Piersilvio is obviously not in that business, is that managers and manager circles are selling their old and injured palyers around to their friends, making profits and dont care about the club. We bought 3 cronicaly injured players from Madrid: Redondo, Ronaldo, Emerson...now we want INURED Nistelrooy? Dont say we didnt know those players cant play anymore. We have the best medical facilitys in Europe. Money goes around regarding the results, managers sell their players and share the money and so on... That is what is happening in Galliani's circles. I know it sounds excessive, but to me it saounds quite normal.
now its time to pay for real players and not mediocre old players that have only name that has worth as a historical monument. We want Sheva only for 0 euro, that is the latest.
Modern football needs fast, young and strong players.

mrki, I would agree with you valuation of Dinho's value, except for a critical factor, which is him having the option to buy out his contract. This option would mean Barca get 20m euros, anything more is really a bonus. Based on that, anything we pay over 20m is in excess of his real market value. As for Zambro, I think he's still a risk (we need regularity of performances like last night), but I'm positive. The two together shouldn't in reality cost more than around 25-30m euros and I feel certain we can get it done for under 40m.
How come you call Adebayor a savage player? His behaviour hasn't ever really been a major issue as far as I remember (although he's apparently quite arrogant).

There's been numerous issues/rumours surrounding him. Basically, it all began last season (loss of shape, form etc) and now it's gotten much worse, where his form is very poor compared to the past, physically he's considered out of shape (not Ronaldo levels mind) and seems to be picking up injuries all the time, which many believe are fake to hide backroom issues. He's fallen out with the fans, the management it seems and apparently the dressing room is divided (with him one of those being at the centre of it).
