There is a serious possibility that next year Milan has only 5 brasil players ( Kaka', Pato, Ronaldinho, Emerson?, Digao ). We need some more!! :) Alves and Alex! :)
the certain leaving players for now are Cafu and Serghino.
the offcial AC Milan website has confirmed it.

Weren't we linked with german youngster Marco Marin (19 years old) before? Seems now that he has reaced the 26-man german preliminary squad for Euro 2008. This even if he played in 2nd Bundesliga this season with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Must be pretty talented...

...as I want young players in every department too, I don't want ALL of the 'above 30' to go...
Maybe it's time Cafu and Sergio to leave, but definately not from 5 years ago.
It'll be an interesting summer to say the least. Let's hope Galliani finally delivers this time.
As for the forward line, I too think we'll land up getting Dinho and probably move Kaka further up, which still leaves us with a problem----we need a powerful, strong targetman to finish off what Dinho and Kaka manage to create. That should be our priority after Dinho.
Secondly, I wonder what would happen with sulkly Seedorf if he had to spend most games coming off the bench. Don't know if he will take it too well...

If he doesnt like it, he knows where the door is. He made his own bed with his consistent play year after year and now he will finally be replaced with someone who can play well two games in a row. Now if the good of our team means less to him than his own minutes, he can leave whenever he wants to.

I wouldn't cream my shorts over Lloris coming to Milan just yet. Even though Kalac deserves as much as I do to be the number one, no way in hell will some 21-year-old relative unknown just waltz in here and into the starting eleven, as the Goal.com article suggests.

Wow...thanks BMW for bringing some normalcy back to MM...don't kno how we could have a discussion on goalkeepers without your input!! ;)
I tend to agree with you though...I doubt we would buy such a youngster with Kalac as his only understudy....but stranger things have happened.
I think if Gila does go to the Viola, that we will get Frey, and this youngster will be on the bench, 3rd choice would then b Kalac...what think u MsTaylor?

What great servants Serginho and Cafu have been.
I think Dida will be the next one to bid farewell, and we must not forget the good work he has done in the past (I know it seems like an eternity ago). Hopefully we get a solid goalkeeper like Boruc or Frey.

thats alot of players, Seedorf, Kalac, Emerson, Ba, Gattuso, Favalli, Ambrosini, Fiori, oddo, Kaladze is also thirty, plus loaned players like abbiati, storari etc (even though some prolly will never play for milan again.)
That will never happen, well not this transfer season @ least.
i have a questios, was donati loaned to celtic, or sold?
why cant we just let Bonera play LB, if we cant get Vargas.
he played there recently, i remeber cafu came on, and bonera switched to the left, and if i recall correctly he played well there also.
based only on comment made about him by Dunga and Thomas Schaaf, Naldo seems to be pretty good, but even though ive seen some Bremen games, i never really have notcied him.

That is precisely the problem. Honestly, with Seedorf, I do think that his minutes mean more than the team's performance. I also think that's probably the reason he pulled out of the Dutch squad. Oh well, let's see what happens, but if Dinho comes, someone will have to accept the bench, and it aint going to be Kaka.

Seedorf is a prima donna, and I really doubt he would accept the bench role kindly.
The thing is that what made us great over the years was the fact that we had great players off the bench. I remembered for about two years, the following were our bench players: Tomasson, Kaka, Sheva, Ambro, Simic(was still great) off the bench.
Thats what Seedorf or even Gattuso need to accept for next season or the one after that, if indeed Milan is getting Dinho and another CM(to replace Emerson and/or Gourcuff).
IF not, then they can just leave as I am sure there are plenty of players who would love to play for Milan.

Naldo is very good. Some people do not understand the concept of the position in football. Just been able to play as LB is not enough, you have to do it well. Bonera can play there but thats not his position he is not best at it so you cant relie on that. Bonera is best as CB but very decent on the right flank. Left side not so much, you have to be able to attack and defend
Have you often watched him play Bosniaco? I mean 90-minute play (not only clips).

Yes I have. Gol TV broadcasts a lot of Werder games. He is tall good heading, good defending, attacking is not the best but decent I mean on the flank but you cant get everything. He also played as CB.
I personally would play him as CB because of his height. He looks tall on TV. :)

Good defending sounds great. How do you compare his cross with serginho cross (of course not comparing with Oddo's one :uhm: )?
About CB, when did he play as CB? When he's already in Bremen?
EDIT :
I cant find his weight in Werder's official website. But i find it in other website. Guess what?? He is 198 cm! :D
Looks like Cafu and Sergio are out.

maybe we can move for Drenthe from Real Madrid if they go for Vargas
and how can we go for him? I mean how match money Real Madrid will ask? I don't remember how much did Real pay to get him but I remember it was big tooo big indeed, not to talk about the quality as he did not show something impressive, I would love to have him if he cost only some thing like 10\12m € which is science fiction.
it looks like madrid will have marcelo, drenthe and vargas fighting for one positiion....wow
EDIT: Heinze also plays LB :pom:
I have also seen Naldo play a lot of times. But I dont think that he is a player Milan needs. Our real solution for CB is Zapata, or some young and class defender that our scouts have in sight.
And for us to have a good and strong SQUAD, we need to keep both Gattuso and Seedorf and play Seedorf as a rotation player, like we played Rui. While Rino-Pirlo-Ambro-Flamini will play central midfield roles, in which we lacked one quality player last season.
To win scudetto we need strong bench with players like inzaghi, Seedorf, Ambrosini, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Bonera on it... not players like Cafu, Serginho, Favalli, Brocchi, Gila...
Boruc again linked with Milan...
Milan Ponder Boruc Bid
Sat 17 May, 10:09 AM
AC Milan could make a summer swoop for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc - even if the Bhoys demand Ł10million for the Pole.
Boruc is under contract at Parkhead until 2011 but has been heavily linked with a move, with the likes of Milan, Bayern Munich and Spurs reportedly interested.
And with Milan No 1 Dida set to leave the San Siro in the summer - and understudy Zeljko Kalac also a possible departure - general manager Ariedo Braida admits a move for Boruc could be on the cards.
Quoted in the Daily Record, he said: "Boruc is an excellent goalkeeper. He has been outstanding for the past few years for Celtic in the Champions League.
"We are going to lose Dida and maybe our No 2 'keeper Kalac too so we need someone new.
"Boruc's valuation is high - Ł10million is a lot to pay - but I cannot exclude anything and it might still be possible to sign him.
"Soon the transfer window will be open and then we will see how the market is."

Guys, Seedorf is crucial in this team for a tactical reason that many have overlooked in the last posts. Seedorf is the only Milan player that can hold the ball up there and let the team find the proper position.
He's tactically crucial, that why Carlo puts him in the team even when he's unfit.

Alot of strikers are available out there so we should definitely be ending up with a good player..here are the ones that are rumoured to be on the market,
Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Saviola, Drogba, Sheva, Amauri, Boriello, Gomez, Berbatov, Crespo (??), Ibra (you never know), Adriano (I always wanted him here, still do)
The most likely that we will get is Ronaldinho, probably the best buy would be Sheva/Eto'o. If I was incharge I'd get Sheva and Adriano cuz they are cheap, and then Eto or Ronaldinho. However there is one player I want more than all of them but it is unlikely - Cassano.

OK We can accept that he's good at holding up the ball. However I'm 100% certain we can find other AM's who do that PLUS MORE. If Seedorf is a starter next year we'll have the same problems in countering with speed. Also Seedorf barely does any play-making so Kaka has to drop even deeper to help him out. Is that what we need?

Ok, but you have to give names.
1. Who is better than Seedorf, and can realistically join us plus all the other players and investment we'll have to do?
2. What do you do with Seedorf ? Do you sell him ? Who signs him ? How much would you sell him ? How many moneys would you give him to break the contract ?
Let's reason on a realistic ground. If not, there are only empty words, like "let's sign a better player". What's the meaning of this sentence ? My question is : who is going to get Seedorf with his heavy wage ? who do you want to sign that can realistically substitute Seedorf ? how many moneys will you get for Seedorf and how many costs will you have to release him ? how many moneys will you have to invest in this position, given that we have more urgent position to strenghten ?
The only issue with Cassano is his attitude. We all thought that we could change R99...

Good points Gio for Seedorf.
But if you ask me i would say.........He is a 32 years old midfielder! He can't play like he was 25-28!
And i would say that there are many many good players like him who can play better of him and be payed less than him.
If our managment see our players like their children instead of professional players then they would keep the palyers as old they are and pay them as much as they want renewing their co(Roanldo,Dida,Seedorf,Cafu,Maldini,Inzaghi)
I understand what Mystik is trying to say and i agree with him 100% about that.
And i will give you an example i can't compare Ribery with Seedorf.Ribery is a player with future, Seedorf is a player without future.
And if Seedorf is payed more than he deserves to, then is from the managment fault. They can offer him a contract that he deserves, and if he says no then a big club like milan can't cry of loosing Seedorf, then can find many players like him.

I'm not saying we should sell him off because he can have an impact of the bench with his vast experience and ball handling skills, thereby helping us kill off games. I just don't think he should be a starter anymore. That is all. Kaka should be our starting CAM and Seedorf the substitute.

Well Viola are after Rossi and at the bottom of the Article says that Milan are also interested and we are willing to offer Oliveira. Rossi would be a very good signing. Very talanted player.
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may17r.html
In my oppinion, the right player to play alongside KAka' as an attacking midfielder is of course Ronaldinho. About holding up the ball - its not the biggest tactical variation we need Seedorf for. We need Seedorf in Carlo's conception becouse he play in deep left side role and coming back to play as a left midfielder ( in big CL matches when he feels like running). Of course, Seedorf is one of the players you cant get ball from, but so is Ronaldinho.
I really hope Milan will find agreement with Barcelona and not be so stupdi to lket Ronaldinho go elsvhere. At 28 and after a bad season, with a low price, this is a perfect opportuniti to buy the most talented player in the world. Soimehow people easily forget how is Ronaldinho. Its not like he is 33 or something...
Seedorf - he will be more usefull in milan as a sub as we can use him with quality and not only quantity as we do now. he is a professional and has to accept bench role, same goes with Inzaghi.

i'd be very surprised if Milan doesnt sign Ronaldinho.
Laudisa said that Sports is very close to Barcelona and the demand of the Barcelona is 25 M E while our offer is 15 M E.10 M euros is nothing compared to ex difference also considering the player wants only Milan.
mrki,i agree with every part you say about Seedorf also adding that he doesnt have the continuity and very inconsistent.
So far we have a LOT of players off in the summer: Dida, Kalac ( suggested by Braida), Cafu, Serginho, Brocchi, Gilardino...and who knows about Simic, Oddo, Oliveira, Boriello, Abbiatti...
The thing i like is that Del Piero will finish serie a as a first striker so Galliani will have no chance for his BS how Boriello is the best no.9 in itali and so on...
Boriello is not a choice for Milan's box striker, he is not that good, never was. Right now Drogba is the only solution that is possible ( aldough expencive, but the money IS NOT OURS!), and that can match the quality Milan needs from box striker. Pippo is 35 and Pato is 18...
ill finally get to see, zapata play for the second time.

They are reliabre, also i read the same declarations in other websites such as sports.it
6-7 new players except Flamini, one great name in midfield, one great name in defense but its probably Zambrotta and the great name in attack is Ronaldinho if you ask me.6-7 quality players,3-4 for first Xl and 2-3 quality for the bench complete the squad.Ronaldinho,Zambrotta and Lloris, hope we add a quality CB and one more side back.in addition vice Pirlo is needed as well.Carlo said that Deco could come to Milan,i dont know any source who or which is more reliabre than laudisa, but honetly i would go for Hernanes, who could also play in Ambro's place and however who could put Ambrossini to perform better, otherwise get this shirt.could play as vice Pirlo when needed.he would appeal to me,he is really good with the ball, his shooting, stamina and tecnique impressed me.for striker,we linked with different names in recent weeks,Amauri,Borriello and Eto'o,its said Barcelona asks for 40 M E for eto'o yet at most 25 m euros that we could pay for Eto'o(Source:Laudisa),most realistic for me is Borriello considering we continue to play with 4-3-2-1 with Dinho and Kaka.for one spot, you cant sign Eto'o or other big name when you have pato.

Tuttomercato just published an article concerning milan's transfer market saying that milan are about to spend around 90 m euro on the market excluding the fees to be recieved from gila-gattuso moves. It also addresses names to each position at the squad.
Out:
1- dida 2- cafu 3- serginho 4- simic 5- maldini (still unknown)6- oddo 7- brocchi 8- gourcuff (loan) 9- gattuso (not sure) 10- ronaldo 11- gila
Possible in: lloris, zapata, vargas, zambrotta, luis felipe, rafinha, apodi, kompany, thiago nevas, vidal, hamsik (part exchange with borrielo) ronaldinho, mario gomez, huntelaar, ben zama, etoo
Quite frankly its a huge list to depart the milanello but still there are names to leave like fiori, diago, emersen, if this report about the players to leave is true i believe we need more than 200 m to rebuild the squad plus most of the possible in players are a non-euro players we are only allowed to sign 1 aside of those who play in serie a like vargas and zapata. I think its unrealistic and still only time can tell who we sign and who to leave.
Another thing worth mentioning seedorf just expressed how impressed he is by EPL, and he regrets how he missed such experience, maybe seedorf is hitting on a team like arsenal he has been linked with them in the past. I personally feel that we are about to see new milan with new faces only 5 from the current line up add to them our main transfer targets... Its really getting crazy this summer

I pray for Villa,Benzema,Loris,Vargas,Miguel,Ribery,Barzagli!
Galliani: "Whether Gattuso leaves or not depends on Gattuso. We will get a big name in defence, midfield, and attack. There will be 6-7 players coming in."
Considering how good Galliani in math, we can expect that the 6-7 players he mentioned about will include Darmian, Marzoratti, and Abbiati. So with Flamini's deal was completed, we only need to find 2-3 new players :coffee:

Well he said a great Defender,a great midfilder and a great attacker. Darmian,Marzoratti are not great players!
I hope he is not joking with us again!
Zapata, is he coming?
Vargas, we have to beat Real for him?
Dinho and Zambro, they are coming but when?
GK, I really don't care who will that be, as I know he will be better than Dida and Kalac?
Drogba, just come to Milan if he really likes Milan that much?
Thats the 6 players, maybe with another midfielder too.
Adding Hernanes or a decent creative midfielder to those players will be perfect! :D

I wouldn't count on it. This is the same guy who said our biggest target up front is Borriello. If he can put Borriello in the same class as guys like Drogba, Villa, Eto'o and Gomez, would it really be too much of a stretch to think Darmian and Marzoratti are counted as "great players"? I have personally given up on this current management because I just don't see them changing their ways for any reason. Now maybe I am wrong, but with such a perfect excuse in only playing the UEFA cup next year, I am not convinced this management will change their ways now.
People crying like girls because of our management make me laugh ... because they are the same who probably applauded them for the last years, I don't write about the last 3-4 years, but the 15-20 years before !!
Our management is managed by the duo Galliani-Berlu since many years now, and we had such success ... and because we don't win anything one year (ok we didn't play very well last year too, but we won CL), this management has become, from some of you, something to change absolutely ...
They built up some of the greatest teams of all times in world, but it's cycles, you can't win every year, so now, don't expect us to win all titles for 1-2 years because they will try to build again a strong team for the years after ...
Look at past, near past (around 2001-2002), they didn't buy 10 new strong players in one year, they bought some young (Kaka' for example, the same thing last mercato with Pato), some confirmed players (Seedorf, Nesta, etc for example, Flamini and probably one defenser this year), and some players who didn't seem very good (Pirlo wasn't known as a great player when he was in Inter, and now who is he ? One of the best midfielders in world), but they bought them in 2 years, not in one mercato.
They just do the same things again and again since many years ...

Flamini + Boruc + Zambrotta + Vargas + Naldo (or Zapata) + Ronaldinho + Drogba + Sammarco + Borriello - Gila - Brocchi - Dida - Simic - Cafu - Serginho - Favalli - Oliveira = Scudetto
Roma won't sell him to us ... or they will do but at a very high price !! He's young, promising, and already a confirmed talent, not possible to take him at less than 25M € I think.
Yeah, it's too expensive and we and Roma have agreement that among us never make a bid except the club want to sell the player.
I'ld rather take a CM that are not yet so expensive like Hernandes, Cigarini, Montolivo, etc as we already have Pirlo, Ambro and Flamini as starting line-up. All we need decent backups.
Keep in mind that we will play same arrogant football with too defensive starts of the matches, and with same stubborn play through the middle of the pitch where you need magic to score.
milan needs different tactical approach to win scudetto, easier way to create chances. Better corners, normal action plays, not super magical goal attampts thatcome in once in 20 shots like Pirlo tries with his free will free kicks and passes. We need discipline and clear plan that includes scouting of every single opponents, we need tactical variations. And of course, we need some quality players to play with Kaka', Pirlo, Ambro, Nesta, Pato, Pippo, Seedorf...
Unless we have clear tactical vision of next season, soon you guys will hear this, around march: " our prime target is UEFA cup, we miss that trophy..." as Inter and Juve will be 15 points in front.
We cannot contionue to play this circus football without concept, its ridiculous.

Lebanese, can you tell me where you saw the name of Apodi linked to us? I went to write about him in the other thread...This guy is a amazing talent, but it´s also huge prospect. Very raw and needs to work a lot on his defensive skills, but he has all the tools to become a good defender also...The seed(and skills) with that Apodi attacks is surreal...think about a young Serginho´s speed. To be honest a think he´s even more fast with the ball on his feet...As I said, RAW, but a Daniel Alves type of talent at right-back...since we bought a player like Grimmi, it would be nice to bring Apodi to develope in a above average team in Italy...his raw talent and price are worth the investment.

its easy to talk the way you do right now. By saying nothing.
Now please tell me in which part of my post you quoted I said something that isnt true. In the last part of -15 points I was exagaratting of course, but the rest, the technical part - isnt it true? Didnt we play like I said in the past 4 years in serie a? only raw talent scored for us, it was almost never a product of firm sistem.

Mrki has a point is saying that our domestic tactics must be revisited, but i think Carlo is more than capable to do that. He deserves to coninue his work.
Much is due to the quality of our players. Having no goalkeeper (every shot is a goal) and no big centreforward is a great limit, even with the most creative tactics in the world.
Carlo probably should make the players play more first touch. I can see why he doesn't: first touch is more risky, you risk to lose more balls. He's not completely wrong though. Looking at our back, i can't blame him.
For the mercato news, my opinion is that the great defender Galliani spoke about is MEXES.
its easy to talk the way you do right now. By saying nothing.

I quote one of my messages:
2004-2005: 2nd place in Serie A, 2nd in CL
2005-2006: 2nd place in Serie A, Semi-finals in CL (lost against the winner)
2006-2007: 4th in Serie A, CL
2007-2008: minor trophies, maybe 4th or 5th
So why do I post to say nothing ? Simply because you post to always say the same thing ("no more Carlo, bad management") ...
Keep in mind that we will play same arrogant football with too defensive starts of the matches, and with same stubborn play through the middle of the pitch where you need magic to score
There you know how we're going to play ...

In italics, I agree ... I would even add, we need to improve our head-playing because we're really bad at this (only Ambro who is average-good because when he kicks a ball with his head on midfield, he gives the ball to our opponents, the question isn't asked for other Milan players as they never kick the ball with their heads lol).
EDIT: lol all is italics when you quote, I missed that ...
Then I can't agree for tactics etc, these tactics are perfect as long as you have the right players, look at what Carlo did the last years ... furthermore, this year is exceptionnal, our best players played poorly, and when they came back to a decent level, we won everything (except Napoli but there were players out).
Then I don't quote, you admit yourself that you exagerate ...

based only on comment made about him by Dunga and Thomas Schaaf, Naldo seems to be pretty good, but even though ive seen some Bremen games, i never really have notcied him.
Naldo is a good defender, tall(1.98m) and bring one thing we lack(aerial game)...but imo his aerial game is better in the offense, than in defence, and this isn´t that good. Btw, there´s no way he can play a fullback spot and be effective...and more worse would be as left-back.
To be straight, despite Naldo´s potential for to be a great defender, I´m not sold on him...and also don´t give him our no-Eu spot.
We(Brazil) are producing a lot of young defenders now(for the desperation of the prejudiced ones :) ), but if Galliani ask me, the only brazilians defenders that I can say that are able to come here and to make the difference are: Alex, Juan, David Luiz and maybe Luizăo(of 1 year ago). There´s the young ones: Sidney, Henrique, Léo, David but I can´t say they will help now...
EDIT:
Just watched a reliable journalist saying on TV that there´s a principe of conversation between us and Săo Paulo to bring Hernanes to Milano. The guy said we maybe send Oliveira to them to make the purchase easy...Now, it´s better than what the other(Silvio Lancelotti) with several italian connections since said in the middle of the week. The other said maybe Hernanes will be on the same plane as Adriano headed to Inter...I hope this is not true.

Galliani said that 7-8 new players will arrive, except Flamini its 6-7 quality players, also he said that he agreed with Kaka on the challenging the scudetto with 12-13 players is not enough and we want 17-18 players,it seems he got his lessons from Brocchi's,Favalli's,Emerson's.i have a feelling that we'll have a great mercato this summer.
Ronaldinho,Zapata,Zambrotta,Vargas,Hernanes,Borriello,Lloris=scudetto+Uefa.
And our great campaign will start by selling our simbol and world class midfielder Gattuso. Press conference will be made and Rino will announce that he is leaving us, like Sheva did. according to italian press...
I cant believe this is gonna happen. I dont want Flamini, Hernanes, Diarra or god himself to change Rino, Rino is a simbol and a passionate player todays football lacks.
Ronaldinho,Zapata,Zambrotta,Vargas,Hernanes,Borriello,Lloris=scudetto+Uefa.
I think, we can buy all those players with 90 mil euros. My calculations are :
- Ronaldinho = 20 mil (Milan's offer is 15 mil, I'd say Barca will accept 20 mil)
- Zapata = 20 - 25 mil
- Zambrotta = 5 - 10 mil
- Vagrgas = 15 - 20 mil
- Hernanes = 10-15 mil
- Boriello = max. 10 mil (as we own half of him)
- Llioris = 5 mil (according to the news)
I cant believe this is gonna happen. I dont want Flamini, Hernanes, Diarra or god himself to change Rino, Rino is a simbol and a passionate player todays football lacks.
It's already said by Galliani, it depends on Gattuso. So if he wants to go, there are players who can substitute him (even better).
Gattuso is not yet Milan symbol. He is not an irreplaceable player like Kaka or grande-captain like Maldini. In this case, I'd say Milan will/would miss Sheva much more than Rino.
Mexes is my ideal CB, i prefer him to zapata.

so lets lock him up n throw away the key. remember what happened last time we sold our symbol? this isnt a move milan is making, its gattusso's doing. if he wants to go, let him go. it looks like he will be replaced by diarra, but i would personnally like another italian to take the role like de rossi.

Nice list except for Boriello IMO.
Zapata is a must, that guy is fast and would be great with Nesta. Zambrotta IMO is also not needed. Add that money for a Vargas Bid.
I think the question is, which top name striker would come to Milan knowing there were not playing in the CL? I think that's the main reason that we're going after Boriello at this point!!!

i heard cigarini is leavin to villareal since rossi is out there...i read it in another forum..is there any chance for us getting him....?
Too bad really that w are not looking up for Vargas, to me he does look like really good player. Aldough it is hard to watch him in Catania since the players he plays with are not good enough.
I understand Gattuso can be changed, tactically speaking. But the spirit will be lost without him. Its not the same looking at Rino slappiung coaches after Milan wins and looking at Diarra playing well...Rino is Rino :( I hope he will stay in the end and Galliani will promise him new players and new challenge ( uefa :) )
Ask fans that dont support Milan do the ywant Rino out - everyone will say YES. Becouse Gattuso is a brilliant defensive player and will always be a BETTER player then Diarra...
Giovanni once said Rino is stuffed with the way club has been running in past years, and I also heard it from some Milan fans...too bad :(

read on an arabic milan forum that tuttomercatao has a report on Braida meeting with Diarra's agent as recent as May 3 in the Nice game. They talked about Diarra unofficially but Milan is yet to offer something to Madrid. I know for sure that Braida is a big fan of Diarra from his time at Lyon but he was too expensive, now that he is 26 and that Real is fully loaded with midfielders of high calibre, maybe we could sneak an offer. Diarra is certainly a very very very interesting player that would be an upgrade over Rino.

If we buy 8 "star" players, how are we going to fit all of them into the starting XI? "Stars" don't want to keep the bench warm, they want regular game time.
If we change the starting XI overnight the first half of next season will produce the same results as this season.
I agree with Geotav, small regular incremental changes are required, not massive clearouts. I also agree that Ancelotti hasn't done that badly in serie-a over the last few seasons. We must remember that the Champions league has always been the #1 priority at Milan, and again Ancelotti's record in Europe speaks for itself.
Last season we managed to win the Champions league, and finish 4th after starting with negative points. This season we finished 5th after a disasterous start to the season, we were near the bottom of the log for most of the season.
Despite all the injuries, lack of form, lack of goals we did relatively well imho.
Our end of season performances highlighted just what Milan are capable of when the players who score consistently are fit and in form. We lack depth and another striker who scores consistently.
Following stats for this season are from Wikipedia (probably not 100% accurate)
Name App Goals
Gila 30 7
Inzaghi 20 11
Kaka 29 15
Pato 18 9
Kaka, Pato and Inzaghi averaged +/- 1 goal every 2 matches, Gila didn't. Inzaghi missed most of the season through injury and Pato only played since January. Things might have been different..but thats a case of could of, would of, should of.
We need a target man who is good in the air and can also average a goal every 2 games and if the other strikers also maintain the same kind of form and we close up the holes at the back, we could do well in serie-a next season.
Just my 2cents worth

Quite a few interesting rumours, mostly based on Galliani’s comments since yesterday’s match.
To start, Gattuso’s future needs to be discussed according to Galliani, and so he wants to find out asap whether Rino will stay. La Stampa suggest should Rino leave, then our primary target for a replacement is Diarra of Real (a player I’ve mentioned before after Carlo said some good words about him). If true, I would be very happy, the man’s a big time player, although it would be sad to see Rino leave.
Galliani has also said that we will get at least one top star in each of defence (rumours suggest Mexes, I hope Zapata), midfield (Dinho?) and attack (my dream is Gomez). He’s also said he’s already started work to get new names in Milan since yesterday evening. His idea reiterates what others like Berlu and Carlo have said at the club, which is we want a competitive squad, both first team and a players on the bench. What’s positive is that everyone at the club seems to be in agreement with targets this summer, unlike last summer where there were a lot of mixed signals. All comments are on the official site.
Lloris is apparently almost ours according to L’Equipe. The player and Milan have agreed on a 4 year contract, though I’ve had mixed messages about us agreeing with Nice. Some say we’ve agreed a price of just over 5m euros, others say no agreement is in place yet.
Laporta spoke of both Dinho and Eto’o (I read it on goal.com), both of who we’ve been linked to in recent weeks. As for Dinho, he said he needs new challenges and his problems aren’t his party attitude (apparently he’s always been professional), but rather fitness problems. He hopes that he leaves through the front door like Rijkaard. On Eto’o he says that he leaves with dignity and in a good way. Both definitely seem to be on their way out of Barca.
Laporta [...], for Dinho, he said he needs new challenges and his problems aren’t his party attitude (apparently he’s always been professional), but rather fitness problems. He hopes that he leaves through the front door like Rijkaard.
Quite logical anyway: if he says the guy isn't professional (problem difficult to clear, if the guy goes partying rather than training, what can you do except deleting some wages), he will have to sell him cheaply, whereas by saying it's only fitness problems (so possible to clear this problem with adapted training sessions), he can sell him at a high price to any club ...

Regarding Naldo, I've never seen him play. Is he fast? I would assume that he is not considering he's about 2 meters tall. If my assumption is correct, then I say we are better off without him. We already have a relatively tall CB in Nesta and coupling Nesta with Naldo might come at the expense of losing speed. Better to couple Nesta with a smaller yet faster CB (someone of the Cannavaro mold) so that our backline is versatile enough to deal with both fast attackers as well as physical attackers.
I'm not 100% sure yet but i think Juventus have just signed Amauri.
12 m euro+ Nocerino+ one youngster who plays for Bari on loan

I liked your reaction when it seemed Gattuso was leaving, earlier this morning. I like this approach. Players aren't objects, that you can substitute like tools or puppets. Their personality is unreplaceable.
Maybe you ignore you touched a very important phylosophical issue: the unfungibility of the human nature. The modernity is bringing us towards an economicistic conception of human beings, like they are objects on a market. Players aren't fungible. You can't replace Gattuso with Diarra, because you can't replace the guts Rino put in every match.

Again Galliani came out to say that we are BUYING 7-8 players he did not say we are recalling from loan or anything he said buying. i believe we are having a very hot summer, Gattuso didn't go because i guess he got what he wanted ... a real squad whose able to compete. from my point of view i dont wanna see milan participating i want to see them contending i dont care if we win or loose but at least show us milan dont show us atlanta , sampdoria , fiorentina even inter... i wanna see the real milan breaking the hearts of opponent's fans. Gilliani said we need 7-8 players to break the gap with inter ... our management finally thinking of scudetto as a primary objective for. Kaka and gattuso must be working hard to convience the management that we need a full squad and it seems they've got it .... i now expect milan to keep the friendly enviroment and also to hit with a fist of steel, i want to see our coach caring about his post and our players caring about their spot, i really wish we mess with other's transfer target as same as they mess with us. i hope we get a target man a man who can handle calcio thugs with the same method they handle him, a mark man who is not affraid crashing on 3 defenders to win the ball or to score ... let us hope this year will leave a psychological impact on the team and management.
Im sure the reason for Rino to stay was becouse he was confirmed Galliani will bring in quality players. Rino said it wasnt about the money...
If Juve is now to sell Palladino I would take him right away. Just a thought of mine...
I read, I heard from many people that Palladino was going to be the "next big thing" but he didn't confirm this year (Ranieri putting Del Piero instead of him) ... and I didn't see him a lot, so here I go: is he really as good as everybody says ??
PS: It's a question because I don't really know him actually ...
i now expect milan to keep the friendly enviroment
So Brocchi is going to stay too ... lol he's Gattuso's best friend.

We need some one like skurhavy :musk:
Who is he ?!
Palladino played mostly as a winger this year. But I see him as one of the most talented young Italian players. I dont know why Ranieri didnt play him as a striker, but you cant blame him as Del Piero, Trez and Iaquinta all had brilliant seasons. For me Palladino would be welcomed in Milan any day.
I hope we will choose our players wisely and not be cheap. that doesnt mean we need 5 super stars, we just need to pay if we want quality.
Players like Zapata, Boruc, Zambrotta, Vargas, Drenthe are players that are actually not that expancive for Milan.
Players like Drogba, Ronaldinho, Alves, Mexes, Aquilani are more expansive but...to pay 20 mln for dinho and 30 for Drogba is not impossible and it is worth it.
Our strenght for next season should be midfield consisting of: Pirlo, Flamini, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Ronaldinho, Seedorf, KAka'.
Still, the fullback issue stays open and I expect even Oddo to be out -and rightly so. Sagnol promotes himself as cheep and ok soluiton for a long scudetto hunt.
I will writhe down the squad we need and Giovanni you print it and send it to Milanello please :) Or go there by car...
GK: Boruc, Abbiatti, Fiori
DEFENDERS: Bonera, Sagnol, Darmiani, Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini, Zapata, Zambrotta, Favalli, Jankulovski
MIDFIELDERS: Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Flamini, Emerson, Seedorf, KAka', Ronaldinho
FORWARDS: Inzaghi, Pato, Drogba, Palladino :)

Skurhavy used to be genoa's hitman from 90 to 96, winning silver boot in 1990 world cup, 193 ... simply a beast. if you know Jancker the german striker same body but long hair and really a beast
GK: Boruc, Abbiatti, Fiori
DEFENDERS: Bonera, Sagnol, Darmian, Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini, Zapata, Zambrotta, Favalli, Jankulovski
MIDFIELDERS: Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Flamini, Emerson, Seedorf, KAka', Ronaldinho
FORWARDS: Inzaghi, Pato, Drogba, Palladino :)
I underlined the guys who could be replaced:
- Boruc => Lloris ... cheaper, but probably as good if not better (and younger !!)
- Sagnol ... I definately don't think he could be a good player for us, we should have taken Zaccardo but he goes to Wolsburg. And even if Sagnol comes, we need Oddo for the bench, Sagnol can be injured again.
Emerson or Brocchi, it's same for me ... but Emerson is paid more and never came back to a decent physical condition this year, so ... bye Emerson.
I would add Montolivo for midfield, I won't change my mind with this player, he deserves to play with us lol !!

Mrki Palladino indeed is a fantastic player already i really would love to see him at milan
i really believe we should be working on a proper right back, left back and a Goalie that the most position we need to spend on.
Boruc is a proven goal keeper in champions league but he is somehow injury prone, its more safe to sign him instead of lloris but lloris has showed a great potenial woth risking.
milan should do the impossible to sign vargas, this guy is a world class player soon enough we will all see this. zambrotta is a good choice for the next 4 years, so to be wise we should get zambrotta and not dani alves, i know dani alves is the best right back/ right midfielder out there but zambrotta is a class too
we are desperate to sign a striker we should really try to get toni ... this guy is a machine and he is italian  ... i would love to see drogba wearing our jersey but drogba really has a problem with his attitude, he is not a professional he is a cry baby he wants to do everything him self even the throws . so an alternative to toni i think we should go for Mario gomez he aint one season wonder he is scoring 20+ each season and he is only 23 we can use his figure in our formation and he runs and has a nice team work rate.
BIG DEAL :faint:
At the risk of sounding devoid of all emotion/team spirit this is merely a good thing...NOT a great thing.
1) Gattuso is getting up there :1old:
2) He isn't technically sound...but he IS overrated.....we could have sold him to some club like ManU or Bayern to get the funds to get things that we DO need like A LEFT BACK OR A POWERFUL STRIKER
3) I'm sure Flamini feels wonderful about this.....unless he is the default choice for Left Back he'll have to fight with Pirlo, Brocchi, Emerson, Gattuso AND AMBRO for a starting spot.....great job Milan Management If Carlo's "Pirlo must play until his blood runs into water" policy continues the options are even more scary because Ambro may well be our next captain.....meaning that he'll have to fight it out for ONE available spor or else Carlo plays the fans favourite 3-DM's in the formation
4) I want to address the issue of Gattuso's intangible contributions like to team spirit, morale etc etc Sure it might impress us when we see him getting all fired up for battle behind our TV sets....but let's be serious how much of an effect do you really think THAT has on the performances of world class players like Nesta,Kaka, Seedorf, Ronaldo? Do you think he keeps us together the way Maldini does?? And if they are playing **** isn't it better to have another PERFORMER to take up some of the slack? I am NOT underestimating it don't get me wrong, but heart and spirit only take you so far these days. This is top flight Italian football not "the little engine that could"

Sincerely, I think it can contribute to some kind of winning spirit in the team !! When you have guys who don't express any emotion or look like they don't express any emotion in a team (in our team: goalkeepers, our defensers, Pirlo, Seedorf, Gilardino, etc), someone like Gattuso is a must-have to the team because it can really motivate the partners ...
i pray for Drogba or Adriano + Ronaldinho...zambrota as well...some central defender...and one Gk...Frey or Boruc..but i always dream about Adriano in Milan...if we cant get drogba...maybe Barzagli as cd

I havent seen his emotion recently. His good emotion and great spirit has been decreasing since 2005 and the worst is this year. He will be soon 30 years old, if he can give his old-style, what can he offer to Milan?

Dru you know I respect your posts but I simply cant agree in here.
Gattuso is a unique player. Milan is a club with heart and we need to take care of our champions and legends like Maldini, Ambro, Rino... Technically he is horrible, yes. But the thing he represents on the pitch you cant replace. GATTUSO IS THE BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE WORLD - period. If we had normal fullback like we had Cafu years back, you would see what does Gattuso mean. If next year Zambrotta takes his place next to Gattuso that side of the pitch will be like a wall.
Gattuso is a simbol, every fan in the world respects him. We as a special club need to work on clubs soul, this is not NBA. Dont worry about founds for mercato my friend, Im telling you guys that all the time: Milan has so much money you cant even imagine it.
And Gattuso DIDNT leave Milan, nor did he want to go for money like Sheva, he asked Galliani for reassurance that Milan will bring in new players and play for trophyes. I told you before, and Giovanni did also, that we heard from Italia that Rino was not satisfied with our mercato's and lies from Galliani. Rino stayed becouse he wants to play with real team and not play 50 games per season for Brocchi and Emerson...
dont worry about Flamini, he will play enough. Gattuso, Ambrosini and Pirlo are in front of him, that is normal. But I think, tactically, that Carlo should mix Pirlo-Flamini-.Rino, or Pirlo-Ambro-Flamini, so we have an extra midfielder that can pass normally.
This year Gattuso (I feel) didn't play with as much emotion. Don't know why...

This year Gattuso (I feel) didn't play with as much emotion. Don't know why...
I think a lot of our great players didn't play with much emotion this year
they were playing too much and had no rotation at all, that is why Kaka' and Gattuso are saying we need 20 good palyers and why Galliani said we will buy 7-8 new players.
Gattuso is not a superhero, he cant play 100 games in 2 years and always run the way he does. With Flamini playing regulary, and Seedorf rotation with Dinho and Kaka' we will have fresher midfield. Espacially concerning the fact that UEFA cup in on thursday! Maybe even another midfielder is needed, like Cigarini, Dessena.
I trust your judgement too mrki :respect:

As we look at the mercato, and the even more eminent UCL final, this article sounded a cautionary note for me:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/may/20/premierleague.chelsea
It shows that these two clubs (Man U and Chelski) together are over 1Billion pounds in debt!!
Milan on the other hand, posts a relatively diminutive 20M+ pound loss (unsure of our actual debt obligations) when compared not only to those clubs debts.
Now many fans would argue that its worth that much debt to be in the UCL final....but I beg to differ.
What good is it to do a Leeds Utd?
How wonderful to win a UCL title, but to remain half a million pounds in debt? :dontkn:
I much rather our present condition/status, as I was taught as a child: the bigger they are, the harder they fall....and debts don't come much higher, or bigger, unless one is talking about a small countries' debt to the IMF or World Bank.
I much rather a club that will be around in the top tiers of football, than one relegated due to debt, or somesuch.
Can't believe that Abramovitch "loaned" money to Chelski!
LOANED!!
What is interesting about the terms of said loan, is not that the loan is interest free, but that Chelski is obligated to repay within 18 months of Abramovitch's say so....
18 months to find half a BILLION POUNDS?
Ok firesale check list:
1. Sell the club stadium,
2. Sell the stars: Essien, Lamps, Drogba, Chech, etc
3. Sell youth players snapped up from other clubs youth programmes....etc etc.
Now I am not privy to Berlu's funding policy with regard to Milan, but I have never once read that he "loaned" the club funds. What a difference a genuine fan makes...as opposed to someone just in it for the publicity and the profile.
Bear these things in mind ladies and gents when we clamour for this or that signing, and be thankful to whatever God u worship, that we are Milan fans, and have the owner that we do.
Good in a way to see Amauri out of the picture, as he was a bit too mercenary for me...he will leave Juve the minute they start to founder on rough seas...the first to leave a sinking ship are rats....nuff said.
Holding out hope for Vargas, and would love to see the official price tag for Alves.
To be honest, guardina knows s... about who is loaning money to whom in Abramovic's business... Abramovic cant loan out money to himself as Chelsea is his club. To you know where chelsea village is in London and how much that part of land is worth? Players are worth nothing compared to that...
chelsea will not go to bancrupt, Abramovic is too rich, and United has oil fields...OIL FIELDS.
Clubs are not what they used to be ( Leeds ), now its something different. Business that has 20 mln supporters ( any big club ) doesnt crash down, trust me.
Graeme C

it would be interesting if uefa banned clubs in the champ league who are in too much debt. Even though chelseas amount is huge, for Abramovic anything is managable debt.
Warro sorry bro but I agree with mrki
Case in point are Real Madrid(rumored to be laundering illicit government funds) and Barcelona. Since I have been supporting football they have been in tremendous debt.....doesn't seem to have any net effect on 'em :d33:
ManU's most recent indebted status has coincided with the greatest success period they have enjoyed for a long time. The same applies to Chelsea. Then of course there's always Inter :yuck: who are usually hundreds of millions in the red. Leeds is by far a MUCH smaller club with a waaay smaller fanbase and they made huge investments that didn't pay out.
Maybe if Berlu in his new :w154: mode doesn't want to spend...loans the money to get Quaresma, Alves and Gomez we'd be better off than staying in the black up front and continuing to lose ca$h earners like the CL and big name player jersey sales

I think mrki, that u missed my point.
My point is, if, for whatever reason, Abramovitch decides to ask for his money back, Chelski would have to find it...and half a billion pounds aint chicken feed...
And as Greame C pointed out, what if UEFA says: "No UCL if ur in "x" amount of debt"...?
A lot of "ifs" in my riposte, admittedly, and while I appreciate that Man U especially won't do a Leeds...the precedent has beed set.
And that is the point.....debts that high cannot be sustainable in the long term....(In Man U's case specifically), unless ur profit is gigantic year in, year out.
That I am sure, is not guaranteed.

Poor example dru....Madrid is the exception that proves the rule.
I can readily believe that there are Milan fans who would, in pursuit of silverware, have no problem with us being billions in debt....
Sorry, I disagree.....I want Milan to be the same mighty institution we are now, when I am taking my Grandkids (or they are taking me LOL)to see Milan play in a UCL final or two.
No one can predict what the future holds, but one can kearn from the mistakes of the past, and what has been proven tine and time again, is that massive debt, while not a death sentence, certainly aint a good thing.
I 100% agree with you Mrki besides now that he stays this could reasure other players and possible transfer targets that we only look up and want to do beter. How? Revolution? yes but only in our transfer policy not in our squad. I believe we still have world Class backbone with Nesta-Gatusso-Pirlo-Kaka. I honestly believe every team in the world would want these players.
Now its up to management to fill in the gaps.
The next players will certainly get their share of time on the pitch next season Kaladze, Bonera, Ambrosini, Flamini, Pato, Jankulovski and I believe we will give Oddo an other chance and with some oldies such as Seedorf, Pipo, Favali (He signed an extension so it's unlikely he will leave allthough I don't think he is good enough, it doesn't have to be a bad thing but only as a last back-up, if he plays 10-15 or more matches as a starter than I will feel like we didn't get the right players in the mercato).
Who should come? Well the discussion seems endless but I think we all agree that we should get:
1) GK I don't know that LLoris but if management thinks he's ready why not. Abbiati is also an option although I could understand why he would want to leave. Kalac could stay as a sub. Question is should we give a young keeper the chance? Yes if management really think he's up to it.
2) LB or RB these positions seemed to be cursed for use in recent years but we at least need to have one new player coz our current players don't seem to deliver. Zambrotta could fill in the gap depending on injuries of other players, he could be RB or LB however I haven't seem him play for the last 6 monthes is he still up to it? Bonera, Oddo and Janku, Kaladze also could play these positions but they have failed to convince me that they are te best available option. Flamini could also be an option as I recall he did pretty good with arsenal on the flanks or was that part of the reason he left Arsenal? I don't know? Anybody?
3) CD with our without Paolo we need another worldclass defender, Bonera and Kaladze are good but I don't think they are world class besides maybe Bonera can fill in our RB position who knows, Who should come? Zapata? most likely Udinese doesn't play CL and Udinese isn't Milan to be honest. Mexes is another option but without CL it will be hard to persuade him to come.
Another question mark is Maldini's future, I don't think this should change anything on our transfers. If he stays that's fantastic but I wonder how his knees are doing I'dd prefer to see him to hang up his boots now than he plays another season and in 5years from now to see him in a wheelchair or something. If he plays another year I don't think he will play that much anyway allthough when he is fit to play he still has his place in every team. His pension would really be the end of an era.
Bottomline wheter he quits or not, we can use a great central defender.
4) And we do need a striker. Who could it be? This is a real nutcracker it depends on how Carlo wants to play that is if he stays (Allthough I think he will). If Ronaldhino comes I think we won't get a world class striker (maybe Boriello will come back but I don't reckon him to be that good (yet ;))). There are so many question's that need to be solved.
Will carlo stay? He will probably stay but what formation will he use?
Will Ronaldhino come?
Will Boriello come back? I don't think so
What shall we do with Gila? (cf. infra).
So I think it's way to early to think to far ahead for us fans.
That should be part one of our 'revolution' another part is that we should change our policy and also get some really good youngsters. Darmian, Digao, Mazoratti, Gourcuff, Paoloschi why not, but they are not so special just yet. (They should be used in a good team it's stupid to play all our Bplayers at the same time coz that situation isn't real. How can Gourcuff prove what he is really worth if we only use him in 'our worst formation' or any other youngster for that matter. It's much easier for youngsters to play good if they are surrounded by fantastic players as it is for their selfconfidence and to keep of the presure.)
But we should also try to get others, Montolivio for one, of course it will be extremely difficult to lure him to san siro but why not. We could buy him and loan him out to fiorentina so he can gain more experience in the CL, play the 'harvest' year with fiorentina and Pirlo will be a year older when we get him next summer. But I'dd rather have him straight away and give him minutes to play for sure in the copa and in the Uefa cup, this would also mean that we finaly have a decent back-up for Pirlo so we could finally play a good game without him. I do think Montolivio will get enough minutes considering there is also a European Championship and OG (is Montolivio going to Bejing aswell since he is going to EC?) coming up and Pirlo isn't getting any younger although I believe he is still on his peak. But this way we have pirlo and a his heir. Aquilani same story as for Montelivio but I think it would be even harder to get him. He could be the succesor for Ambro or Gatusso or more likely even seedorf it depends on how our formation will look like. Allthough since Flamini signed and Rino stays I think he will remain a personal dream. Rossi could also be a good youngster I like to see with us. But the striker question has to be sorted out first.
For our objectives I think (like everybody else I gues) we should focus on the scudetto and being runner up=failure, but I do think we should aim for the Uefa cup aswell maybe not with all our best players but we should have valid alternatives, that was our main problem this season with all due respect for Brocchi for example but if we rest Pirlo and use Brocchi for either the copa or the Uefa cup then I don't think we can get very far. Our midfield was our strongest line this season but it lacked depth.
I have no doubt that we can conquer Italy next year but I we will have to buy more and more expensive players than we did the last 3 years. Bayeren did the same and it proved a succes. The Uefa cup should be an objective to but scudetto is more important.
As for outgoing transfers Gila is the biggest question mark that needs to be sorted out. I wouldn't offload him for cash only (unless it's a really good offer but I doubt well get any) I'dd prefer to swap him with priced assets of another team. Maybe we could break the bank and offer Roma a good deal (lots of cash) and Gila for Mexes and Aquilani since they have a certain intrest in gila. Another interesting deal might be Gila and cash for Frey and Montelivio.
Another option is that he stays put and I still think he has the potential to succeed unfortunately our current scheme doesn't fit him at all and a partnership with pipo is out of te question but maybe a partnership with Pato could fit him better but I'm affraid he ran out of credit...
Pipo's future is a blur aswell I don't think we should chose him as our main man upfront if he however maintaines his current form than he could still have his place in our line-up.
The rest (Simic, Dida, Emerson, Ba and Brocchi should leave the club as did Ronaldo, Serghino and Cafu) I would like to say thank you for everything but milan can't use you anymore on the field maybe as coaches or scouts etc. I don't think we will get money for those players but I think we should accept wathever we get for them. I hope to sell olivera for some cash and depending on arrival maybe others might probably follow. Anyway that's how I see coming Mercato

I read, I heard from many people that Palladino was going to be the "next big thing" but he didn't confirm this year (Ranieri putting Del Piero instead of him) ... and I didn't see him a lot, so here I go: is he really as good as everybody says ??
PS: It's a question because I don't really know him actually ..
He is overrated IMO, probably the most overrated Italian player and he will be very expensive, I rememeber that Arsenal were intersted in him and that 20m € bid was offered if they are crazy to pay this amount in him then good luck.
I am a Milan/Juve fan and I would love both of them to have the best players in the world and that's why I don't want to see Paladino in the starting XI of any of them, he is a squad player nomore than that.

What about Diego Milito? His team went down (Serie B) and he is a nice player that probably wont be that expensive. Maybe we can arrange some kind of loan. I remember many top italian sides were interested in him. He has scored tons of goals since joining Zaragoza, isnt injury prone and has good dribbling skills and ball control.
Maybe if we were Champions League bound, we would target someone better but I think he is a nice cheap option for us to win Serie A plus UEFA.

I always rated D'Alessandro, as I do most Argentine playmakers, such as Aimar, and 2nd support strikers like Kun, but it seems Berlu doesn't like Argies, his two previous Argentine aquisitions, both had minimal impact though for very varied reasons.
Guglielmienpietro, who really just wasn't good enuf, and Redondo, who was good enuf, but whose tenure was blighted by injury.
D'Alessandro though undoubtedly talented, appears too frail for the European game, and has flattered to decieve at the end of big expectations on his arrival in Spain, a country where Robinho, of similar build, has thrived.
He could arrive as an attacking midfield option, but I doubt Milan will look his way, with the Barca treasure chest open and ready to be plundered...and Deco is a better option IMO.

Nothing much about milan rumors today, only that bronzetti will be tomorrow in barcelona to finalize zambrotta deal. And to re-open talks about R10 . Hope everything will go smooth, some sources say that we are intrested in frank lampard, and others said that lampard already signed for inter a 4 years deal worth 30 millions pound , it seems we already promoted 3 youngsters from our primavera , paloschi, darmian and alberatzzi? And tuttomercato said that sammaraco and antonini returned to milan, again abbiati's agent said that its a possibility that the keepers, talking about keepers tuttomercato said that gomez or lloris will be milan keeper. Lloris requested 2 weeks to think the offer over. After all its only internet news nothing offical

Well, if Gila can do it better than Milito, then we wouldnt be looking for options in order to unload him.
Milito never failed in his carrer, he was very good in Racing, Genoa and Zaragoza. Three different styles.
And I suggested a loan, since Zaragoza may be up after one season and we would upgrade our roster once we get back to Champions League.

i dont think that milito is the striker we are looking for with respect to him, and to his fans but really i cant find milito is different from gila, same mould and that mould did not work for us, gila is a great player but he would only show it in the proper atmosphere... milan is way too big for him and for milito he cant take the pressure and this guy doesnot really have one objective, no ambition nothing at all... boriello proved us all wrong and i really wish the best for alberto because after all i think he did his best in milan and deserve to be where he belongs....

i Heard that Valencia might put Banega on the market after the beat us to his signature in January,
would you be interested in signing the young argentine
Valencia is having difficult time right now and following that Koeman had been sacked few weeks ago and replacing by Voro. but not long after that they being humiliated by Barca 6-0 i guess. lucky for them not being relegate this season. they were relegated in season 85-86 i think. they are in 10th place at La Liga now last time beat Atletico Madrid. i also read some rumour that they will sell the likes of Joaquin and Villa. but that's a good news if they also put Banega on the market :D even though it's hard to believe considering Banega just being transfered from Boca Juniors this season. he is awesome. i was exciting for his performance during the WCC against us. but at that time the one who catched my attention was Rodrigo Palacio. he is awesome.
ps. can they add Alexis and Moro too on transfer market list ? :tong:

"Trebalo mi je pet minuta da odlučim. U pitanju nikada nisu bili novci. Zajedno smo sjeli Carlo Ancelotti, Adriano Galliani i ja, te smo ostali prijatelji kao što smo bili" - rekao je Gattuso i opisao kako je prošao razgovor u kojem je utanačen njegov ostanak:
"I needed 5 minutes to decide. Money was never the question. Ancelotti, Galliani and me set together, and we stayed friends as we always were." and then Rino described the rest of the conversation process..."Kako je bilo? Ušao sam u sobu i sjeo.
Nisam mogao."
"How did it went on? I entered the room and set down. Galliani went to the door, put the lock on it and said I can only leave Milan through the window. And, it was pretty high...
Every time you wear milan shirt you want to win and we didnt do that this year, so there was certain "negativities" within us all. It didnt all go as we are used to. But, becouse of that I didnt want to leave club that was great towards me and my teammates.

Crespo did good with us to I still don't understand why we didn't get him permantly a couple of years back since chelsea let him go for free anyway and inter snatched him up while he could have be the right answer to our problems (at that time anyway).
But it seems indeed that berlu or Galliani has it in for argentines.

In Barcelona probably for Ronaldinho, or the surprise Eto'o ?
Nothing new from Zambrotta.

Apparely, Lyon would have made an offer for Lloris too, it's what I was saying once on this topic, Nice was waiting Lyon to be able to sell the guy at a higher price ... and reports say we hesitate between Lloris and Gomes, for me, no doubt, we have to take Lloris, Gomes is too similar to Dida.

i dont milan will do make such a step especially that milan wants more than one player from barca.

i say milan try to sell gila to an english side we will get more money plus . gila is an azzuri striker and he is rated high even if he had a bad season

Abate is empoli midfielder he plays on the right ... ways better than brocchi, had a decend season with empoli has a balanced kind of play attacking plus defending. he is 181 cm, 21 years old, blonde like ambrosini
regarding london trip i think milan are manuvering over the attacker but i believe we cant afford to buy drogba so we are getting the traitor back and we will resign borriello

sorry to say, vargas deal seems impossible especially real is intrested in him so areroma and fiorentina. i say we can get any player we want but with our current mentality not to get dirty with other transfer targets,
zapata is really the best central defender in calcio offcourse after nesta, Braida wants him, but GALLIANI WANTS mexes. i would take zapata over puyol, marquez, mexes, barzagali and lucio. i think its easy to deal with udinese but the most important thing Does milan want zapata ?
Gabriel489
21-05-2008, 06:10
Thats the sad part. I read that Vargas and Barazli will be heading to Viola. And the price for Barazli is 7M pounds with a 1M salary. Quite frankly, even though I think he is over-rated, thats not a bad price, and I would assume that Zapata is about the same price or lower. Since ITALIAN DEFENDERS IN ITALY ARE ALWAYS going to be more expensive than non-Italian defenders. Therefore, why don't Milan sign them(Vargas and Zapata) as I could see them be 12MIL pounds for both and their salary will be 3M/year max for both. For god's sake, thats how much Emerson and Brocchi each makes.
Sometime, I really don't understand the Milan MGT for signing players, on one hand they don't want to pay transfer fees but on another they seems to not care about over paying players' salaries.
Come on Galli, get Vargas to replace Serginho and get Zapata to replace Simic.
Another thing is that if Milan signs both of them it will not have an effect on the non-EU spot since both had played in Italy.
The non-EU spot is another thing I don't understand, how can Milan sign Marquez as he is a non-EU?? Who will leave? And if they are going to sign a non EU player, that person better be a starter or else that will just be a waste of a place for a bench player, unless he is Messi.
The sad thing is that, if Milan sign Mexes, whom I think is great and Milan might just begin a French connection with Flamini and Gourcuff and maybe even try to lure Henry or Trez, but the amount that Milan will be spending on Mexes, they can spend them for both Vargas and Zapata. Two equally good players compare to Mexes.
The other thing is, I really don't think CL is that much of a big deal to players since we were the Champions last year and that only got us Emerson, Pato does not count as he is an unknown and could be a bust or boom. What matters to players as Gattuso puts it best, the desire of a MGT to win it all year in and year out. And thats something I did not see Milan do ever since the lost to Pool three years ago. Yes, I know we won the CL last year but be honest, who would have predicted that in the fall of 2006. We never found another playmaker in Rui Costa's role off the bench and we just lost Sheva and was replace by Olivera(someone who just came off a year of injury).
To me the most positive news sofar is the comment Gattuso made, a promise that the MGT will be signing good players, so pls be Zapata, Vargas and Drogba.

In treno.

I really don't care if Prandelli can turn Gila into a top scorer and Brocchi a solid starter as both of them just cannot cut it in Milan. Therefore, IMO, those two are extras at Milan and if MIlan can turn these extras into someone like Frey, that will be the biggest deal for Milan since getting Pirlo from Inter.

Tuttomercato just Interviewed Vargas' agent and he confirmed that there are many clubs intrested in Vargas including milan, fiorentina, roma.... and he said that vargas wants to play in champions league... and he is also confirmed that vargas is to be transfer listed under the 15 million price tag. and he said that his client does not really care about how much he is gonna earn.
Galliani Go get him tiger :)
I am glad Milan is finally being link with Vargas.
As for the CL part, I won't worry much as I think everyone(including players) knows that Milan will win the CL in 2009-2010. Just like we did last time after one year in UEFA CUP.

Has anyone noticed that once the season ended Galliani has been making sense when talking to the press?? Keeping Gattuso, saying we'll get 6-7 players, main objective next season is the Scudetto, it's like he has been reading Milan forums :)
Prandelli is an exceptional coach people...have that in mind.
i hope, alves is the one we negotiate with sevilla about.
also, it is official, Ibrahim ba has retired.
Thats three gone; Ba, Cafu and Serginho.
Nasri looks to be headed to Arsenal, R10 may not be arriving in Milan, so i think, and i want your opinion on this.
Joao Moutinho of Lisbon, as a target if we fail to land R10, one he is really young, and has UCL expierence, and has excellent leadership capabilities as he is 21 and already captain of Lisbon, and playing at a high level, 2 he reminds me of the best and my favorite Portuguese player of all time, Rui Costa, and Lisbon wants Grimi, though not of hign value, he can be used for negotiations. Ive always like this dude, even though i do not get to see him play very often, but i know he is a CM, AM can play RM or LM and also versatile enough to go to DM, though i wouldnt play him @ DM, he also reminds me a little of Fabregas, who Flamini is accustomed to play with.
Please, everyone give me your honest opinion on him.

It's a logical thing ... Galliani isn't a stupid person, our management is smart (anyway in football lol), they know what to do. We are the most succesfull club in world, and one of the reasons is this management who has made an amazing work each time it was needed.
For the season, try to be in a player's life, you know your season isn't a success, and your management says in press that they don't have confidence in you anymore, they want to replace some guys in the team ... the season could only be worse lol. So he played with medias by saying everything and its contrary, but now, it's time to work, not to laugh, so they work and do their job.

Weird choice ... Atletico Madrid is the same kind of club that Fiorentina, an historical good club that has had difficulties and tries to come back to the highest level ...

yeah i like him to, and MU is getting both Moutinho and Veleso, and Veleso is a beast.. playing everywhere. If Milan can get both of them i would be the most successful Mercato in the last 10 years.

miguel velosso is certainly a purchase ... he is priceless as his skills combine with his great physique and cool nerves + great shots to result in a prolific midfielder who plays with both legs (really) ... anyway drogba in my opinion is leaving chelsea as they lost his ungettable title and so let's step in ... orelse there is mario gomes who scores amazing 28 goals in 31 starts this season ... a real phenomenon

After the defeat of Chelsea in CL Drogba signing will be easier. I was woried cause if he scored the winner, i couldn't see Abramovich letting him go.
last time i saw Udinese play, Dossena was playing on the left-hand side of a 3 man midfield!
I'm still unsure about Drogba, he spent far too much time slapping people and moaning than playing football. Is he the kind of mercenary disruptive influence we want in the dressing room?
Maybe if Inter get him we could make a move for Adriano? So many possibilities!

Jim we need a bully upfront...someone to deal week in week out with the likes of Loria, Carrozzieri, Bovo and all the other thugs of Serie A. Someone to command respect and physically teach them a lesson.
today Italy U21 played against Ivory Coast. And all I can say is that Cigarini is THE SAME player as Pirlo, he comanded the midfield exactly the same way Pirlo does with exactly the same passing and movement. Of course he is not as good as Pirlo is now, but Milan should really look to sign that kind of quality passer in midfield.
Drogba is still my 1st choice and I hope Galliani will sign him, I dont care about the prices, they have the money but they just dont want to pay.

Exactly that was what i am trying to say long ago, Weird thing to say that flamini said that he would be glad to play along side with sheva at milan, please tell that galliani is not telling ppl what to tell in interviews,
other things about drogba and his attitude, i am sure that milan wont let any one whatsoever to cause problem among players and any player who would try to cause such problems will think twice while being at milan

Cigarini is really essential for milan sooner or later you need someone to replace pirlo, pirlo needs to rest sometimes, Cigarini wont be this expensive we can struck a deal for like 8 mil, which is a very good price for such a player like him. i say we sign him and pay parma as much as they want but the problem is that inter and juventus wants the player. but i believe we can get him because we are having a good relation with parma.

I believe milan can use rui costa in portugal if they want to sign players from bwin league, he is an idol for the most portuguese players and he is professional we can use him in our management, i mean serginho is becoming the head scout. and ibrahim ba will be scouting africa :D maybe we can use rui as well

No more possible: he has taken a place in Benfica's management ... and he seems to decide who comes, so he won't give us keys to help us then because he will want to recruit too.

forgot ivanovic ? the best time to assault on alex is now, get alex and forget any other non-euro, he is a top central defender if milan is looking for the future he is the best choice nice choice but still i would take Zapata over him :D

It seems like ETO Wants INTER, strange that is the case, as I remember he once said he is a Milan fan and would love to play for Milan. Maybe thats the indication that R10 will be with us.
I think this is a good time to sign Drogba from Chelsea, since I have a feeling he wants to play for Milan. Beside I really think Eto will end up in Chelsea as Roman will spend more money to grab talents.
Mario Gomez and Cirgani are great young talents, but I really don't think it is time to get them to Milan yet. Well if Milan does not call back Boreillo, which I doubt, then maybe Gomez.
Dossena or Dessena, the one from Udin, is a solid LB or Left side player, it would be also to get him and Zapata in a combine deals, but that would mean less play time for my MVP Favalli.
The Frey-Gila+Brocchi swap really wants to make me laugh, I mean if Viola really done that, that would be the deal for the century. The sad thing is both teams will think they pulled a fast one to the other team.
Oliveria is a wanted man in Spain, that does not surprise me one bit, as his style is more suited for Liga. Getting him for Rossi is not a good deal in my opinion as I don't think Milan got room for Rossi-type player, esp if Drogba and/or Gomez is coming.

Dossena would be a good add to the squad specially if he comes with Zapata in 1 package. but i prefer to get Vargas over Dossena. we can put him as DM too beside the LB role. he is versatile. not to mention his dribbling ability is very good. Madrid is eyeing on him too. must be a quick step to get him. he looks like flower amongs bees now :D
and for the rest summer mercato:
the idea to get Barzagli i think should be dropped off. Barzagli wants to play in CL and apparently Viola gets the higher probability to get him. and with out from CL next season i think we got blessing in disguise by not getting Amauri. never like him. also we can forget about Nasri, he will join to Arsenal. and i still couldn't believe about Gila+Brocchi swaps with Frey. for God sake.. give them that package ! Gila is a good player actually (those days at Parma will always remain great) but probably not in Milan. so it's good for both (Milan and Gila), and Brocchi? with Flamini arrived i think we should forget about the idea for playing him in Milan. too many players for 1 spot. but i am not believing at the same time we also chasing for Lloris. so the result gonna be we wont get Frey but yes to Lloris, because i think the only GK leaves is Dida. Kalac still remain number 1 GK position at Milan.
and i think whole Valencia garage sale is only a dream for me. i love their players. specially: Joaquin, Villa, Banega, Alexis, Morientes.
and above all i dont think we will spend so much money for those names :D 2 or 3 good names will arrive (from 6-7 players that Galiani promised) but rest will be only young talented players or mediocre players. but who knows... who knows.. all might happen in the future :)
