I agree the formation isnt bad. no formation is.... The execution of it is... IE the players. if you play with 5 midfielders and you have kaka, ronaldinho, joao moutinho, pirlo, gattuso its a different different thing. than seedorf, kaka, pirlo, gattuso, ambro
(and i want to emphasize in there current form. Seedorf is a legend and sti a useful player, but he is not the player he was 4-5 years ago. He doesnt have the legs or pace to play 35+ matches a season between all competitions)....we see what happens when pirlo tires...ambro has never been great, although he works hard and does offer something to a squad. and gattuso has lost a step.
Well, I just have an attachment to Seedorf and I always liked how he plays... he's a beast when it comes to attacks... but yes it's true his form has slowed. We will have to get another Pirlo type... as hard as that is to believe. Ambrosini offers a lot of quality and is a great in the air.
But yes I agree with you on Gattuso... he has lot his step... that's why we got another DM in Flamini. I really don't want to see Ronaldinho in Milan though... he's so badly out of form... and it looks as if Thatskin at Man City has got him.
According to channel four Viola is intrested in Simic and he is willing to go. If the deal goes threw it will be pretty funny to see two Milan rejects playing CL next year while we have to be satisfied with UC... I hope he goes but I wish him all the best...

I think that the fast player sould be David Silva!
simic stated that he may snub a deal from celtic, to go to viola.
I think that the fast player sould be David Silva!
Silva, may be really expensive, and knowing Galliani, he may not be willing to spend so much on him. a cheaper, but nopt far of talent wose player, could be Daniel Carvalho of CSKA.
so instead of the famous Ka-Pa-Ro, it would be Ka-Pa-Ca

I've actually heard now that Fulham is now interested in Simic. I don't really like Simic... he's never been that good. If the Viola want him, that's fine. Simic has three teams going for him now... Fulham, Celtic and Viola. If he goes to Celtic he'll play in the CL too right?

I really dont want to see drogba in milan, even though i know he will score, he is just not my type of player, i just dont like the dude, i prefer Gomez or Eto'o as the Top Striker, since Benzema is out of the picture. as for Berbatov, he may be a good striker, but he is definetly not what milan should be looking for.
Youth isn't everything. We need to focus on tactics and skills I think.. while mixing in youth (as we are doing with these transfers). But focusing entirely on youth and speed might not get us far either (just ask Arsenal about that one). While we need to re-energize our squad, we have to be careful.I agree completely....but what you are saying is also my point....ManU is like a cross between us and Arsenal.... experienced/ skillful players (Giggs, Scholes)...a lot of young guns...and emphasis on speed and fitness (Tevez, CR7, Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves, Rooney, Evra)
We need some very physical players like the Essiens (strength, stamina, speed), the Quaresmas (speed, skills) the Dani Alves' (SPEED, stamina skill) rather than simply good players who play their position well else we'll keep getting roasted by the likes of Arsenal and Co.
Football is (sadly) evolving to the point where simply being very skillful and technical is no longer enough. If you're not strong enough or fast enough you are either going to spend most of your season out injured or on the bench. Players like Riquelme, Seedorf and Pirlo are losing their value in today's game in favour of the Cambiassos the Yaya Toures and the Essiens....players who don't have that much skillwise but are vital in running all match to execute a game strategy.

I hate it that you cite ManU, but you're right about that one... heheh... I don't think Pirlo is losing his value at all though... he's very influential in Milan's midfield... his passes are bone crunching and not many can do passes like that. Lets keep Pirlo and Seedorf, but putting in some youth around these players may help them out.

Not sure about Riquelme, but I'm positive that Pirlo is not losing his value. Granted, he is definitely not fast; but his vision, creativity, and long passes are deadly such that any moment it can make a difference.
Seedorf is difficult to judge, so no comment.

And not only that he's the free kick specialist. The best in the world. His passes to younger players cause them to score often...

yes, and having an organizer who is slower and makes plays is great to have. but we dont need pirlo, seedorf w/ gattuso and ambro all in same line up. If you have pirlo + gattuso... and added 2 (dare i say it) WINGERS not only would the team be better... but pirlo would player better. Same could be said if u subbed seedorf for pirlo
I honestly think that Milan lack someone who can both defend and attack. Maybe not as strong in terms of defense as Gattuso/Ambro who defended the whole game, nor llike Seedorf attacking most of the time.
I think Milan is missing the 'connection'. Is Flamini going to be the one?

Lets keep Pirlo and Seedorf, but putting in some youth around these players may help them out.He has not lost his value to us....we love him and appreciate his qualities...but in a broader perspective.....his usefullness is limited without the right personnel around him as was CLEARLY demonstrated in the Arsenal game......If we had a bone crushing speed/fitness demon like Essien who could have cleaned up and protected Pirlo we could have done Arsenal some damage....but as it was Gattuso with his failing physical abilities and our poor backline meant that all of his creativity remained in his mind and not on the field....he didn't even have the energy to take a decent free kick. Seedorf has it a bit easier because he isn't built out of 1mm thick cotton candy sheeting like Pirlo so he can't get hustled off the ball as easily...but Seedorf is far too conservative and less visionary so the net effect isn't much better.
Sounds like MIlan is in deep trouble!
Well, probably not as bad as Italy now ;).

I don't think Milan is in deep trouble... we have a great visionary of a manager... and he can adapt to other formations. I think we should keep Pirlo and Seedorf.
We are reinforcing our squad with new players. We do have a new defensive midfielder though... with Flamini. Flamini was often called the replacement of Gattuso... but it seems Gattuso will still play. Maybe this will give Gattuso more of a chance to rest and such... so he isn't playing so intensively all the time.
If we have a deeper squad all the better. It won't put so much pressure on a few of the players.
And you must realize this last season was pretty intensive with the trip to Japan and everything... if we had a deeper squad, we could have rotated the squad the first few weeks...

If Gomez is getting bashed after one game at Euro08 by certain members here, then why aren't they bashing Benzema and Toni at the same time. Imo none of them played better or worse than each other in their first game.
Yeah, I don't understand that either. More importantly, does Gomez deserve the criticism? His was integral to both goals in the build up and he regularly got in good positions. He had two chances, one he wasted with a scuffed shot, the other he couldn't reach as Klose passed too far ahead of him (can't say that's his fault imo).
As for Gomez.. loew put him where he belong. But in my perspective, i give a good credit on how he perform in the pitch :)
Gomez didn't play his natural role other than for about 10-15 minutes in the second half when Klose went on the left (at which point Germany weren't putting together any real coherent play). Other than that, Gomez was playing off the front man (Klose).
in case you dont know carvalho, there are many youtube videos on him.
he is a left midfielder, who is also considered a winger, he is a brazilian, playing in Cska, along with Jo Alves and Vagner Love, i knoe Inter was very much interested in him last year. For any brazilians or russians on this board, you may put more information on him, and comment on whether he would be a fit in Milan.

daniel carvalho is a very good player however to play with carvalho we must stick to your 4-2-3-1 formation which i see unrealistic as pirlo is not that much of an anchor man an he will lose much of his ability not playing a deep lying playmaker so we play 4-3-1-2 and flamini will fill ambrosini's clumsiness and allow pirlo to push forward whenever he wants
Sounds like MIlan is in deep trouble!
Well, probably not as bad as Italy now ;). Yes we are....I could almost throw up every time we were losing and the FSC commentator noticed that "we had no width" :yuck: mostly because he was RIGHT :googly:
I HATE TO BEAT THE SAME DRUM BUT QUARESMA IS SOOO IDEAL FOR US (in theory of course) THAT IT BOTHERS ME THAT WE HAVE NO RECORD OF EVEN SENDING HIM A NICE E-MAIL OR SOMETHING :(
Just putting him in the squad adds so much to our team if we get our tactics right. Milan has tradditionally been a centrally attacking team and Quaresma's arrival isn't to change that....he is just there to absorb defensive pressure and help advance the ball to make life easier for the Central attackers Kaka and Seedorf/ Pirlo and to provide decent crosses to the striker
It's so perfect in a fifa 08 sort of a way :D But what we have done is to concentrate our players in a very small area of the pitch making us extremely vulnerable to counter attacks and long high balls.

think that movie sold me on berbatov :D.... jk, however it shows he has quite some technique on that last goal :D. 27 and good for like 5 more years. - not optimal, but....
did a search regarding our transfer targets and thheir goal scoring ability:
Drogba 329 (matches)/ 141 (goals) = 0.43 goals/match
Eto'o 334 / 169 = 0.5 goals/match
Gomez 112 / 52 = 0.46 goals/match
Adebayor 105 / 46 = 0.44 goals/match
Berbatov 360/173 = 0.48 goals/match
---
it would seem that eto'o is the best and drogba worst, bust they are all pretty similar.
they are not up to the same day, but they are all updated some day in may... doesnt make a significant difference. maybe later i'll post one for when they played in decent clubs (not second division clubs at the age of 18 etc.)

first 2 years in epl. 23 goals each season in all competitions. Remember this year he started awful cause of whole jol situation where they started like 2-9 there tactics looks awful and NO ONE scored. He is rare, a big CF w/ skills who can also score.
He's not ibrahimovic is thats what ur thinking. In all actuality i think his game suits italy more than epl
btw BRING JOAO MOUTINHO!

I'm warming to the idea of Drogba or Berbatov. If I'm indeed Galliani or Berlusconi I'll try my best lol. :v103: Berbatov though plays for Tottenham... this is not exactly a top class club...

The problem is that Ronaldinho and Kaka almost never play well together... we just have to look at the various national team games they have played. Or the last world cup. And I don't think Ronaldinho will ever gain his old form back...

Gattuso was 20 or 21 i believe then. Antonini is 26. Zambro is great but 4-5 years is stretching it. Name another FB who is still class at 36 aside from maldini. Cafu certainly wasnt. I guess u could say zanetti from inter. But its definately NOT common.
boriello is less accomplished that gilardino coming over. I really think his stas r inflated too 1 season 19 goals. 5 from pks. so 14 goals. he's not VERY skilled. He was force fed the ball... something you dont have happen w/ big clubs. I just think he'll be like gila, fade outta most games. He's a typical small club striker. iunno, it just doesnt impress me. I'd rather have hurt ronaldo uptop

Giancarlo, we arent pissed off because they diidnt make any transfers we wanted, we are pissed off because they made no transfers, period. They made that mistake in 2006 and we suffered badly in the league and hardly made it to fourth, but then we won the CL because of the great effort of our players..that CL win blinded our arrogant management and lead them to believe that the same eleven can do it again next year. Their problem is that they didnt learn from their mistakes and repeated it.
And most of the posters are right, this is definitely the worst moment in the Carlo era so if there is to be any worrying then it is now. I aint doing any worrying because I'm confident the management will reinforce well, one season out of the CL wouldn't hurt but it would probably be a blessing I say.
I think we need 3-4 more world class players and not just a striker. Dinho would be nice, but I think there are players that can't be depended on again - Kaladze, Oddo, Jankulovski, Gattuso. We've already got in Zambro and Flamini which are two good buys, but I want one more midfielder for Seedorf's spot. Two DMs formation is something we need to get rid of fast.
ya'all need to just be patient. Good players will come.

He was force fed the ball... something you dont have happen w/ big clubs. I just think he'll be like gila, fade outta most games. He's a typical small club striker. iunno, it just doesnt impress me. I'd rather have hurt ronaldo uptop
Yes, Gattuso was 20-21 then. Zambrotta is great and has a lot of experience backing him. Italian players generally have greater longevity. Look at Inzaghi and Maldini. Cafu was great till the end... he gave us a lot... and even on his retirement date, his physical shape was in good form. So much so that even some Brazilian clubs were looking to sign him.
Borriello has better positional sense than Gilardino and I have confidence that he will do well. He's pretty skilled... better than Gilardino... he won't be anything like Gilardino. He's not a small club striker.

Wow some people in here are really unbelievable.
Don't you remember a few years ago we had to play in the UEFA Cup... Bayern had to play in the UEFA Cup this year (which they didn't even win) but they did well domestically...
Who is to say next season we won't be able to contest the Scudetto?
You people need to stop crying when your team doesn't acquire the players YOU WANT, and DO WHAT YOU WANT. What makes you think you're so much smarter than Milan's management?
I have know problems having to play in any Cup, if Milan is playing I will support them. But when I see a lack of preparation for an upcoming season like I did last year...I'm gonna voice my displeasure.
After finishing fourth in the league the same year we won CL, change was necessary. They waited and got burned.
They should have put their coat on last year and not suffer with Pneumonia this year.
How is Ronaldinho anymore outta form than Seedorf.
And then the describing word/adjective "badly" infront of it. come on...you're talking non sense.

I understand all of you, but the management was forced into making reinforcements. I just don't understand what they have to do... they jumped on the transfer season ahead of everyone else because of exactly what you said.
Yes, I think everyone does have to be patient. I hear the negotiations for a big striker is under way... and there should be a few more players acquired... Christian Maggio for example... has anyone heard anything about him? He's an inter fan, but Milan is after him...

Very well, you do have a point about finishing fourth, but how far did Inter get in the CL? Case in point.
How far did Liverpool get even though they were what? 4th too in their league?
Ronaldinho is injured all the time, and Seedorf is just all around a better player on the field. He does more attacking.

So the management should do nothing? Yes the moves they are making are reactive... but it's better late than never to fix mistakes that were made, or to fix the lack of action.
No they should...but prevention is better than cure. But on your coat and don't catch the cold instead of convincing yourself otherwise and spending a month in bed.
So don't stick up for or support management in the way they've handled the transfer markets in the recent past given our performance in the league.
Even North American soccer pundits were saying that Milan has to make changes in the transfer market last year. But since they had their "World Class Champion" squad they were perfect and didn't need changing.
Pride is before a fall, and I believe that management's pride are the reason that we are being laughed at.

Indeed. I agree with you. We should have bought more than just Emerson. LOL. But hey if you make a mistake, it's best to correct it. And perhaps learn from the mistakes... and lets HOPE that the management does.
I think that Milan is making good changes this transfer season though, so I think they may have learned. They are reinforcing the flanks, and the attack... but the buying is not done yet.

I use my eyes ears and sense of reasoning.
I was cheering as hard as anyone else when we took it to Man-U and got our revenge on Livepool. But I kept on saying..."Kaka & Seedorf are single handedly winning this thing for us, if they don't have a season like this next year or we don't get quality rein-forcements we're screwed."
How could management not see that. The CL Champion blinded them to how poorly we did in the season.
Inter:5inter: are just under acheivers that can't get it right. It might be a different story this year.
Yeah Emerson last season (my goodness)...Pato too though. Anyways...good talking to you Giancarlo take care.

Yeah Emerson last season (my goodness)...Pato too though.
Imho management thought Ronaldo would deliver this season. that's why I think we didn't got anybody else. To be honest after seeing him last year I'm pretty sure most of us thought he could be of great use this season. I mean we had a strike force of Ronaldo, Gila, Inzaghi, Pato and Kaka. Pretty good on paper but with the injury's of Ronaldo and Inzaghi, Pato unable to play half of the season, kaka's poor form (considering last years) and Gila's struggle to prove himself milanworthy we could say none of our forwards had a decent year so we could say management gambled with a to young player and an injury prone one and lost.

All VERY predictable though. pippo was 34 and off multuiple seasons of not being healthy. Ronaldo too has had a VERY checked injury past and we knew was hurt over summer. We knew pato wouldnt play till january and at 18 not alot was expected from him.

All very predictable in hindsight.

Have had Milan finished fourth last year a lot of us would already be praising Pippo Inzaghi for doing such a wonderful job toward the end of the campaign.

---------drogba-ibrahimovic---------- (Cruz, Balotelli)
-quaresma-deco-cambiasso-zanetti-- (Viera, Jimenez, Maxwell)
-chivu-cordoba-carvalho-maicon- (Rivas, Maxwell, Samuel, Materazzi)

Just saying we could use more attacking and defending

Seems like we are quite needy huh?
Guess in the absence of any rumors of consequence, the discussion has gotten a bit cyclical...a bit staid...a bit tiresome.
Vent all you want, post all you need to to assuage your angst...but c´mon guys...this makes for reeeeeaaaaaally boring reading.

I don't understand what you guys keep saying or doesn't that imply on my post Jeff? In retrospect we had a very bad mercato last year true. But in the defence of our management I said that in the begining of the season we had a strong strikeforce on paper, yes there were some potential problems but the board gambled it would turn out just fine. So our lineup didn't need real new reinforcements at first sight. To be honest I would've made the same mistake, I really thought Ronaldo would really be helpfull. I wouldn't say that if I wanted to say told you so. I'm admitting that a mistake was been made that we could have foreseen that was worth risking, we gambled and lost.
I never intended to bash pipo at any point, I surely didn't to it direct did I?
But we shouldn't forget that he only got back on his feet at the end of the season (thank god he did). We couldn't rely on him for a big part of the season (same for pato, ronaldo) so imho he didn't had a good season coz we lacked options. I won't underestimate pipo, in fact in previous posts (not on this thread) I said on several occasions that we should be very gratefull to have him. For 2-3 seasons in a row he started as thrid, fourth choice and every year he ends the year being our undoubted first choice. But we can't rely on him for an entire season, as the last 4 seasons show that (I hope we could, but that would be another gamble). It's not his age nor his 'fading' ability it's that he tends to get seriously injured once a year. (But he came a very long way with his injuries, he got treated by Belgian dokter Martens and physio Maesschalk, pippo stayed with them in Antwerpen for several months and they said it's a miricale he got back on such a high level. They threated Pipo AND Maldini, I think 3 seasons ago, with a new method without it, both of them were history a long time ago according to them).
But I agree each time he get's injured he recovers and regains his full potential like a true feniks. So pippo will/has to stay but as some sort of supersub. To step in whenever we need him. I wouldn't mind him in our starting 11 but there is a good chance he will get injured again.
That post is not directed to any of your post, and I agree with your first paragraph wholeheartedly. I suspect that you have misinterpreted my post. Cheers - J
my bad ;)
Anyway that's my opinion about Inzaghi and last mercato and that's also my reason why I think we need and we will get another striker, that's isn't a real risk. allthough we should be aware every transfer is a risk (especially if we buy someone form Real Madrid, anybody knows a good player we directly bought from them? ;))
Giancarlo

Well we are buying, warro. It's quite obvious that this transfer season is quite different. I don't understand people on here frankly.
And Milano84, you are honestly telling me that Inzaghi is useless? He's been a sub many games, of those you didn't count. He's always useful and has great precision. I am counting on him, as are many other milan fans. I don't know where you get the idea no one is counting on him.
Indeed yes, I do think we need a new starter striker, but Pippo can always be a Schillaci type for Milan.. a sort of super sub.
I think I may be convinced by David Villa... I'm still reluctant about Spaniards coming to Milan to play... because of the history of them coming and not playing well... but I'm willing to push that reluctance aside.

Adebayor agrees terms with Milan
[Arsenal striker Emanuel Adebayor has agreed terms with Milan, according to Sky Sport Italia]
Milan have been after the player for a while and they were impressed when Adebayor played against them in the Champions League earlier this year.
The Rossoneri have been linked with the Gunner’s hit-man and it seems as if they are favourites to sign him even though Arsenal are playing hardball.
These reports surfaced last week, but were dismissed by both the player and Arsene Wenger, who had some harsh words for Milan. However, the Rossoneri have not backed down, at least if Sky Sport Italia are to be believed.
Adriano Galliani met with Adebayor’s agent Stephane Courbis on Tuesday night and it seems as if Milan have reached an agreement over the player’s personal terms as they try and tempt him to dance and jig all the way to San Siro.
Milan will now have to make a formal request to Arsenal to try and prize the hit-man away from the Emirates stadium and reports suggest Milan are willing to offer €30m.
Galliani already managed to take Mathieu Flamini from the Gunners and it is likely that he will do the same with Adebayor.
Adebayor recently revealed that Arsenal should increase wages and give players what they want.
However, the club’s reluctance to do this has seen a few players leave, Flamini and Alexander Hleb are such examples and Adebayor could follow suit.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Adebayor would be a top signing for Milan. I believe he would fit into the tall, powerful striker mould that our coach has been craving. At 23 years old, he has a long future ahead of him.
30 million euros have been mentioned. While I believe the prive might be slightly high, I honestly believe money of that proportition would be better spent on Adebayor then a 30 year old Drogba.
Adebayor still has room for much improvement while Drogba has already hit his straps.

No! *Puts head in Bag*
Not that guy! He's so wasteful in every sense...
Even David Villa is more proven than him. Villa at least scores in tough high tension tournaments...
And I'm not about to accept a guy who trash talks Milan...
Good god... if I was Galliani as some of you say, I'd dismiss these reports in a millisecond!
I wonder why we havent linked to Trez by media. :D
Just look at Juve buys... Sissoko... :eekani:
If Milan had Sissoko last season, instead of one of Gattuso/Ambrosini, i'm 100% sure they would have conceded at least 10 goals less and i'm just as sure that Pirlo would have been a different player with Momo covering for him and giving him all the freedom he needs (something Ambrosini and Gattuso weren't able to do this past season).
There is a good reason why Sissoko became Juve fans favorite after only 3 matches. The guy wins more balls than the other 10 players combined.
As for your posts about the transfers Milan made, i agree that Zambrotta and Flamini were good buys.
But you say Milan are doing great on the transfer market and the new team is good enough.
My question is : Good enough for what ?
If the goal is to make it to top 4 then i completely agree with you that the new Milan is good enough to do that. Milan have a better team than Fiorentina and Juve and they'll have an easier schedule.
But if the goal is to win lo scudetto, then i'm not so sure that Milan are good enough.
In last 2 seasons Milan finsihed behind Inter by +20 points.
Are Borriello, Zambrotta and Flamini enough to win the scudetto from Inter ?
And i'm talking about the new Inter, not Mancini's Inter.
Even if Milan buy Drogba or some other striker i still feel Milan lacks much more to win the scudetto.
Let's imagine that Adebayor comes to Milan ... unfortunately, that would make leaving Paloschi in loan.
But then, we would have Adebayor, Pato, Borriello and Inzaghi.
It's a very logical plan for our attack they seem to draw:
- Adebayor is technical (I saw someone saying the contrary on this forum, did he watch how he dribbes everyone in each match ?), he lacks some finishing skills but he could learn from Inzaghi ... anyway, he's the "big" (by size lol) striker we need.
- Pato is our young (soon) world-class striker who will probably play alongside Adebayor in Serie A games against bottom-table/mid-table teams ...
- Boriello can replace both as, I don't like him but I have to admit that, he showed some good finishing skills in Genoa, so the two others will be able to have some rest, especially Pato who isn't able yet to play 40 matchs a year I think.
- Inzaghi could be our super-joker playing in last 15 minutes of each match when it is difficult for us (when it's a draw, we lead by 1 goals or are leaded by 1 goal). He's a killer, no other word possible, when Inzaghi plays, you always think he will score, and he stresses the opponents with his continuous movements.
Some excitement for next season !!
This news allows me not to think about Italy and it's a good thing, especially after going out with my friends tonight ... they didn't stop to tell me "3-0" ...(one time is funny, it's the game, I would have done the same thing if France had lost against Roumania, 2 times, ok, 3 times, starting to be boring, all night long, it's ... umh ... no word coming to my mind).
So far, our official singnings are:
- Zambrotta (will probably play on the right) and Antonini (will play as a sub of Jankulovski)
- Flamini (will fight with Gattuso or Ambrosini)
- Borriello (probably our 3rd striker, so probably our first sub as I think we will play more often with 2 strikers in front)
Sincerely, with Zambrotta and Antonini, I'm no more sure that we really need a world-class defenser this year ... we'll have Maldini for some matches (will probably be able to play at least 2-3 months on the season), but we forget our Bonera !! The one we all praised for his last performances ... with Zambrotta and Antonini coming, Bonera will probably be a sub for our centre backs.
So let's buy Zapata for example, but let's let him in his club for one season if we can't give him too much space ...
If Adebayor comes, or Benzema (depends on the rumours we want to believe lol), look at my previous post ...
So all we would still need would be someone to replace Seedorf in the starting 11, or a young and hungry player who would be a sub able to play at Seedorf or Kaka' place ...
I don't think clubs are ever allowed to approach players without the team's permission? And I haven't heard Arsenal giving the permission?
Can;tremember if anyone has mentioned MIlan didn't try hard enough to get Luca Toni?
Anyway:
“Last year there was great interest from Milan, however we sat down with Fiorentina’s owners and we decided to choose Bayern,” Toni told ‘CHI’ magazine...

Giancarlo, I'm afraid I disagree with you again. Momo Sissoko has been absolutely fantastic, maybe a bit too clumsy with his tackles but damn he is a good player. He had a better season than all of our midfielders put together! His spirit, his strength, his work rate..he is fantastic.

He played like that for most of this season (principally after Fred's return from injury) and did well ...
Sorry GeoTav, i reply ur post just now :)
Yep, after Fred returned from injury, Alain Perin put Fred as the main striker-the position where Benzema played awesome early 'til mid of last season.
As for that cameback, Perin gave ben arfa position in left flank for benzema in 4-3-3 scheme while sidney govou in the opposite flank.
i heard few times how benzema moaning for new role play and unfortunately for benzema, fred did great as main striker after he returned.
for me, simply benzema best position is the main striker the one who close to opponent penalty box. if henry fit then domenech keep play with 4-4-2, i think you'll see how good benzema play as striker with henry support a bit behind him or run from left flank to pull out one opponent center back
according to tribal football, Milan is starting their bid for Benzema.

Wow. No. No way. There is no way anyone on here can say that Sissoko was any good. If Sissoko was playing for Milan he would fire just about every long ball he makes into the stands. Milan plays with longer shots... Sissoko is a good player when it comes to short passing... even for Juventus he was lousy. A disaster most of the time. Sissoko doesn't even go near Gattuso or Ambrosini in quality.
But hey maybe if HE LEARNS HOW TO KICK A LONG BALL, he'll be better. He's strong, but very unskilled and technically a joke. He should be loaned out to a smaller team because that guy could cost Juve dearly in the Champions League.
Not only can he not shoot long balls correctly, he tackles way too hard.
He has some of the most inadequate technical skills I've seen of any lousy acquirement Juve has made. As if Molinaro and Grygera weren't enough. And I thought Emerson was bad.
But you say Milan are doing great on the transfer market and the new team is good enough.
My question is : Good enough for what ?
Good enough to win a double and the Scudetto...
But if the goal is to win lo scudetto, then i'm not so sure that Milan are good enough.

There will be a new found approach and initative to win it. Lets face it, Milan and its management were always preoccupied with the Champions League. And Inter was lousy the later half of last season. Oh you're talking about Jose "BIG MOUTH, LITTLE RESULTS" Mourinho are ya? The guy talks too much.

I really like what Tony was stating, Milan signing are great sofar but it is still not good enough for the Title.
NOw, I am not dissing Milan signings b/c I think they are putting the pieces together slowly, I just hope they will keep this up.
At least one more striker is needed, someone who can be a consistent scorer-Drogba or Gomez or whoever that can score.
Another two way midfielder-Dessena, with one wide player-Maggio, another creative midfielder-R10/Mancini
Another CB-Zapata
Another GK-I am hoping for Buffon but I am keen to also give Abbiati one season to prove himself
Thats should be enough to beat off Inter or at least challenge Inter for the Title as well as winning the UEFA CUP

why r we discussing sissoko. we need a creative box to box mf. i mean in mold of Joao moutinho, iniesta... i dont see ether of those coming... but i think you follow the mold of player i mean. someone whowill get back and defend.. but will provide something next to pirlo so teams dont just rape him
stop hoping about Adebayor. he doesnt suits with Milan and he doesnt plans to go outside Arsenal. it's just same rubbish rumours that keeps linked Cesc Fabregas to Madrid even the player always says the same statement that he wont leaves Arsenal. rubbish rumours came because Arsenal didnt won anything this year as they aimed many when the season started. i read Adebayor statement at arsenal.com (reliable source over goal.crap or tribalfootball, transfermaketweb, or even sky and channel4) that clearly said that he doesnt has any intention to leaves Arsenal. i couldnt post the link because it was 1 month ago and the news had dissapeared from the main page. i am too lazy to search over their web :tong:
i prefer Benzema or Berbatov over Adebayor. btw we linked with Jo now from CSKA Moscow:

Pirlo Hints At Milan Exit
AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has cast his club future into doubt, admitting he could be tempted by offers to move elsewhere…
»Comments (1) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom The Rossoneri playmaker was tentatively linked with an exit from San Siro after a disappointing season that saw the club finish fifth in Serie A and fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Pirlo has been integral to Milan’s success since his arrival in 2001, helping them to Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League titles among others.
Many have suggested the 29-year-old, along with many of his team-mates, has lost the desire to win, given his neck could scarcely support the combined weight of the medals he has won.
And while the former Internazionale man insisted he is happy with the Diavolo, he hinted that a change of scene might well be on the cards.
“It would be nice to try another experience, certain proposals are flattering, but I'm fine at Milan,” he said. “I've already won everything there is to win with this shirt.
“Next season our objective will be the scudetto, and since I've only won one, winning another would mean a lot to me. I'm fine at Milan.”
Motivation
Pirlo is currently in Switzerland for EURO 2008, as Italy attempt to back up their 2006 World Cup success by being crowned champions of Europe.
Their campaign got off to the worst possible start, however, with a crushing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Holland, leaving the Azzurri – who must also face France and Romania in the Group of Death – in danger of falling at the first hurdle.
The loss of Fabio Cannavaro could prove decisive, but Pirlo is adamant La Nazionale can overcome their skipper’s absence to clinch their first EURO title since 1968.
"I've come here to win,” said the former Brescia star. “I want to win this cup as well.
“Without Cannavaro Italy lose a big player, but we have the same will to win as in Germany, and also we have the motivation that Italy haven't won a European championship in forty years, it's time to bring home this trophy again.”
****************
From where did Pirlo hint at club exit? The one I bolded?
This shows once again how unreliable, stupid, pathetic, and awful goal.com is, yet again.
THis is really close to a fabrication that i don't know why people are still trusting what goal.com is reporting. SUCH AS? Such as Milan has agreed a deal with Adebayor without talking to Arsenal. If MIlan did really do that, Iwill be very very disappoined; not because I don't like Adebayor (not even related to that) but because that is against the rules and ethics. Doing so will make MIlan lose respect and goal.com is doing just that.
These sources are just so absolutely atrocious that it's just not only worth NOTHING but actually HARM the football community.
Tony29 in 100% right, about Sissoko and more... I was saying to him and people in here that SIssoko is a great player and that he will be class. And he is.
But this problem we have solved with Flamini who is a player that can help Pirlo to play better, at least I think so. Do yu agree Tony?
Wilan needs 4 more plqyers to be a scudetto team: LB, CB, GK, fresh aM ( Afellay for example ), CF.
MAggio, Antonini, Abiatti are all welcomed as the subs, so is Boriello who is not a class player.

I was talking about Dessena.

You know I was having a flash back to the World Cup 2006 when I was there in the stadium cheering and crying... and you know one player I'd really like to see at Milan? Fabio Grosso. I think we should spend a bit to get him to Milan. And I'm sure most of you will agree with me that he is world class, bar none. Attack minded indeed. I wonder if there is anyway Milan can unsettle him at Lyon.. last I heard Juve may have been interested, but not so sure. I think we should get him before they do.

Adebayor is just not suitable to the way Milan plays. Like some of you said, he is the sort of player who need loads of chances to score and Arsenal midfield can provide this for him to be effective. In Milan, you guys have seen sometimes how limited are the chances our forwards got to work with, a clinical striker who can finish chances or someone who can work out a chance on his own is much more valueable and suitable for our tactic.
On midfield, we used to be able to pass our way around tight defences with the 4-3-1-2 formation (if you guys remember the beginning of Carlo era). For this to work, the midfield has to have lots of movement to make the short touches work. Younger Seedorf was key here, both offensively and defensively and at this moment he hasnt demonstrate that he has the pace to do this. I think this is the reason why Carlo has put in Ambrosini to provide some cover and stability. We need a player who can sub for Kaka & Seedorf allowing rotation. Ronaldinho can play this role if he can refind his form. This position is key to how long we can last the season. (Rui Costa or Serginho at times used to provide this cover/option for us) Other names like Moutinho will not give Carlo the confidence to use him as rotation. Quaresma also can be an option.

From how much you have been criticisizing Galliani as of late, you have become like him!
Galliani a month ago said "We have 4 goalkeepers: Abbiati, Kalac, Dida, Coppola and Storari".
I was also wandering why do people think that MIlan needs a player like Adebayor, Drogba... Im sure we could do as well with combination of Eto'o-Kaka'-Pato, or KAka'-Pato-VILLA.
Valencia is in big financial crisis, and I cant believe I didne remember VIlla as a possible forward. Do not use the excuse that Spaniards cant play in serie a,its a myth, not much more.
Technical football that trio of Pato(from who I expect a brilliant football...)-KAka'-Villa can play cannot be stoped, no long balls are needed at all. No crosses.
Also, Van der Vaart - I think the man has finally, for 1000th time, showed he is a class player that can play wherever he wants to. For eample, to take both of then would take our game at a higher level for sure. Giving us more tempo, widh and speed - things we lack. And with both being EU players and young, and not too ecpencive since Valencia is in debt ( as Ive heard ).
MAggio is off to Napoli for 8mln, SKYtv, right now I've heard it.
We need to realise we are SLOW team nad we need faster players. That is what we need to work on.
From how much you have been criticisizing Galliani as of late, you have become like him!
Galliani a month ago said "We have 4 goalkeepers: Abbiati, Kalac, Dida, Coppola and Storari".
haha, ok 5 players :)
But if some of you understand just a bit of italian ( like I do, just an essence of sentences ) just go to Gazzetta or calciomercato.com and read italian comments about Galliani and Berlusconi. People are suggesting not to buy season tickets, not to pay SKy cards and so on...people are not satisfied, we all know what Milan is and this is not hw MIlan works on mercato for the last 4 or 5 years.
Don't worry Tony, i know Sissoko's qualities, you don't have to convince me :D
we are back trailing Matteo Ferrari again.
Sorry GeoTav, i reply ur post just now :)
Yep, after Fred returned from injury, Alain Perin put Fred as the main striker-the position where Benzema played awesome early 'til mid of last season.
As for that cameback, Perin gave ben arfa position in left flank for benzema in 4-3-3 scheme while sidney govou in the opposite flank.
i heard few times how benzema moaning for new role play and unfortunately for benzema, fred did great as main striker after he returned.
for me, simply benzema best position is the main striker the one who close to opponent penalty box. if henry fit then domenech keep play with 4-4-2, i think you'll see how good benzema play as striker with henry support a bit behind him or run from left flank to pull out one opponent center back
It's just that Benzema is very good as a main striker and can do well if he plays on the left (don't know on the right). Anyway, he always tend to come towards centre of the pitch when he plays on the left ...
For France NT, Domenech is an a$$hole lol, he will put Benzema on the bench to play with Henry-Anelka. It's cool, that will help Italy to qualify !!
it also rumoured that munich offfer sagnol, for oddo.
I was also wandering why do people think that MIlan needs a player like Adebayor, Drogba... Im sure we could do as well with combination of Eto'o-Kaka'-Pato, or KAka'-Pato-VILLA.
More the one I bolded than the other you quoted ...
Even G.Rossi or Aguero would be amazing there with Kaka' and Pato.
The main problem is that we would still be poor in head-playing ... I'd really like to see sometimes a goal coming from a head from one of our strikers, and not only "diving heads" from Inzaghi !! lol
it also rumoured that munich offfer sagnol, for oddo.
Rumour that I hope is false ...

This is the first time that I will bash our managament so if some one doesn't want to read he/she can just ignore this post.
I don't understand why our managment don't or want/willing to do they take about the Scudetto next year and want to win it without paying big in the market which is stupid and idiotic, I won't blame Galliani because he can't do any thing without Berlu's approval so I will blame Berlu because he is the boss that rules every thing.
Berlu for some reason looks like if he has lost his passion and love to football, he doesn't want to spend no matter how much money did Milan earn, like last year for example, or how much money did it lose, like this year, he simply doesn't care for what the fans wish or feel, he also doesn't even feel any ebarrassment when he deceives the fans by taking about MR X, Y, and Z just to sell tickets and then ends with fat and useless Emerson and 36 years old Ba, when I remember these details I just feel shame, if he doesn't want to spend then he has to step down and sell the club for some one else who can manages it better.
I can here some of you saying stuff like '' it his club and his money, he has the right to do what ever he wants and like and your are just complaining because its not your money and the 60 or 70 m seems a little amount on paper only bla, bla, bla '' but the fact is that Yes it's his money, Yes it's his club, however, its not 100% his do you know why? Because this club or any other one worth nothing if it has no fan base, its the fans that make the club and its them who suffer, I know pepole from Iraq and Palastine who keep asking about (Milan or any other club like Madrid, Barca and such) and worry and even cry when THEIR club lose or get eliminated from a tournment, I mean these pepole live in a horrible conditions and they should worry more about their families and friends and their own safety but, they just worry about football, and pay from the very little amount of money they earn every month to pay for the likes of Sky and Al Jazeerasports, CNBC and so on, Berlu must realize this and give the fans what they deserve other wise leave.
Its their club and they are the ones who pay money to run it, they are the ones who suffer.
Ok now I have finished with the management and will start taking about another thing which is Adebayor who according to some rumurs is so close to us which is a terrible news to me and don't get why some of you think he will be a good addition, in deed if some of you don't like Drogba for his attitude then they must hate Adebatour the guy refused to play for the national team untill they pay him all his money ( he did this twice, once in the AFN 2006 and once in the WORLDCUP! ) what kind is personality is that, if he did this with his country the he will certainly do it with his club.
The guy is a horrible finisher a and can only score once after missing something like 10 scoring opportunies which is smething we cant afford, I remmeber some years ago that Milan used to win because they turn the only chance they get during the entire game into goals and Adebayor can't do this.
If these rumurs are true then his price will be at least 35 to 40 M € which is ridiculous for a player like. with 40 m Milan can buy:
1 - David Villa
2 - Ronaldinho
3 - Drogba
4 - Benzema + 10 m
5 - Hauntelaar
6 - Etoo ( even though I don't like him he stills a better player)
7 - Luis Fabiano ( spell?)
8 - Aguero
All the above players are better than him IMO and some of them are much cheaper as well and might bring more fans than him so hopefuly we are not going to buy him.
One last thing Sissoko was by far the best Juve player in the last 3 months and if any one doubts this then just watch Jve Vs Roma Milan , Inter, Palermo, Firontena games and you will realize that he was one of the best player in Italy.

I dont think fabiano would cost 15 mil. i read somewhere that sevilla only owns 1/3 his contract, the other 2/3 being owned by some company.

For the first part, it's Berlu's club right now, so he does what he wants ... it always was like that with him, it's just that when he put money in the team, people were happy. Anyway, we don't know yet if they will pay or not for a W-C striker, and think what you want, but 30M € is enormous, it's not because Madrid, MU, Liverpool, Inter or Chelsea spend with madness that we have to do so ...
About Adebayor, there's a problem with their nation, you can't forget their political problems ... and he wasn't the only one to refuse to play, they were a group, they were together ... and finally, they played without being paid (they were paid but after these "incidents"). It's a bit like workers who have revendications, who stop to work to be paid, their firm tell them they will be paid in 1 month and they go working again.

Galliani's latest comments (as on channel4.com) seem designed to provoke reactions in the ongoing negotiations.
Club officials (not Milan, but those clubs with whom we negotiate) deem these "blurbs" to the media to be ineffective, dated means of conducting business, and I at times question the efficacy of such public disclosure....
That said, if it works in ourf favor, I am all for it.

I truly hope that we don't go for either Adebayor or Drogba, as I rather Gomez or Benzema.

To reply to some of you out there always wanting big transfer and Milan does not want to pay for them.
To me spending 20M on a 17 yrs old with one year of pro-football exp is as much as spending 40-50M on a sure superstar. What I am saying is that Milan do spend huge amount of money on players, it is just that those players might not be who you wish they sign.
Lets wait and see what happens by late August.
Having said that I am and still very disappointed about Milan transfer over the past 3 seasons. They are heading the right direction now, lets hope they continue.
Tony29 in 100% right, about Sissoko and more... I was saying to him and people in here that SIssoko is a great player and that he will be class. And he is.
But this problem we have solved with Flamini who is a player that can help Pirlo to play better, at least I think so. Do yu agree Tony?
I do.
Flamini ran more than anyone else in Arsenal. This isn't my impression but it's what the official stats say.
The similarity between him and Sissoko is the way they cover the midfield, being always where the ball is and winning it in 99% of the cases.
Both of them are useful in many ways but i'll use an example to show one of the ways how Flamini can help Pirlo.
You all watched Italy-Netherlands. When the Italians attacked all Dutch players were behind the ball and it was almost impossible for Pirlo to break that defense with a pass, because everyone was well covered and Pirlo always had a man or two covering him.
But when the Italians lost a ball and the Dutch countered Gattuso and Ambrosini couldn't win the ball back and it was always a goal scoring chance for Holland.
Now, if Ambrosini and Gattuso won these balls while 3 or 4 Dutch players went running in attack, we would have seen a different match. Without 10 players behind the ball covering space and every single Italian player, Pirlo would have been allowed the freedom to look and find a free Italian player on the flanks or in the center and we all know what can Pirlo do in such situations. But he never got such a chance against Holland.
This wasn't a new problem actually. We've seen this happening far too many times this season, especially at San Siro when teams defended with 10 players and countered every time Milan lost the ball. What happened to Italy against Holland happened to Milan against Sampdoria, Atalanta and Empoli at San Siro (there are probably few more matches).
I don't know what happened to Gattuso this year. He seemed like a different player from the Gattuso we know. Ambrosini played very good in attack but defensively he was average at most.
What Ambrosini and Gattuso couldn't do this year, Flamini and Sissoko did with ease.
It wasn't a coincidence that Juve were the best team of the second part of serie A (they won more points than any other team, until the last 3 rounds when they secured top 4 and won only 2 points out of 9).
Sissoko was winning every single ball in midfield and he allowed Camoranesi and Del Piero to do the rest of the job. Camo and Del Piero shined exactly after Sissoko started playing for Juve.
We all know what was Flamini doing for Arsenal, so i won't even mention it.
This is what makes guys like Flamini and Sissoko useful to the team. They make the others play better by allowing them the freedom and the space to play their game.
Some people are sceptical about Flamini and say how he only had one good season which isn't enough to see if he's really good or not. Others say he played well because of Wenger.
Sorry but that's BS. Flamini runs all the time and wins balls all the time. He doesn't need Wenger to do these things.
He'll be great for Milan and he'll be the main reason why we'll see a great Pirlo next year.
Don't worry Tony, i know Sissoko's qualities, you don't have to convince me :D

Galliani has spoken: (http://www.corrieredellosport.it/Notizie/Calcio/32959/Galliani%3A+Al+Milan+Adebayor+o+Drogba)
The bolded says: "The quotations of Berbatov and Gomez are declining. It is certain R10 and Sheva won't come anymore. At this point, I'd say our choice is limited to Adebayor, Drogba and Eto'o."
However, as he states earlier, even if Barcelona are willing to sell Eto'o, his price is too high.
----
well well well.... not too surprised, as it's pretty much been about Adebayor lately, and slightly less regarding drogba/eto'o... gomez talks cooled down long ago, and berbatov was never REALLY discussed as the others. Benzema was not even mentioned, so i guess he is out of discussion. In addition, all our relevant transfers are always speculated and spread by the media long before... big exception being Alessandro Nesta (god bless him).

Im kind of sick of this Galliani/Berluisconi bull.... so I will now just wait fot them to sign someone and in the and I will evaluate are we good enough for scudetto.
And another thing, Carlo said he wanted to bring Boruc to Milan but his price is 10mln and Milan cant afford it. If those people dont wantto spend money thenm there is no point of atlking stupid things about scudetto in papers.
I do.

To conclude: Milan OR Italy cannot paly and use Pirlo without moving fullbacks and one midfielder that if fast and CAN pass ( De Rossi, Flamini...). The thing Milan needs is one more fullback and one more "striker", for the first 11.
What happened to Gattuso? He has been playing ALL serie a matches for Milan, ALL CL matches, ALL Italy matches and ALL Italy friendlys...for like 5 years. That is not possible even for Maradona and Pele in one player. So is not for Rino Gattuso.
Him and Ambrosini are players that CANNOT be used at once in leneup ( except when you have KAka' who is playing at Pele level and Seedorf playing at his best - which is possible once ONCE in 10 years!). Carlo does those mistakes over and over again and so Donadoni repeated them now. Results are obvious failiures.
Without one more FAST fullback ( Antonini theory is BS , Sergio was Worlad class palyer! ), normal GK, and one more fast player in Seedorf's place, we have no chance for scudetto. What Galliani says doesnt matter, its clear as the clearest sky.

Galliani/Berlu and CO know far more about football than we do so we shouldn't offer even the mildest of criticisms. Ronaldinho is an overrated bad player.....he won the 2 WOPY'S because Moratti paid UEFA so that Sheva and later Kaka, wouldn't win. Ronaldinho isn't worth even the generous 10 Million that we are offering. THAT'S even more than we paid for MrX (Borriello)
We DON'T need a fast fullback or winger because our tactics don't allow for them. THAT'S the real reason we haven't gone after Quaresma, Alves, Rathino, Rafinha, Vargas etc (P.S. Not that I knew much about him but bye bye Maggio :kap: ).
What we DO need though are MORE CDM/CM'S because as Italy's successful first game in the Tournament has clearly demonstrated...when you pack the midifeld with (preferably slow) defensive minded midfielders infront of ageing or slow defenders..the results are phenomenal.
We aren't spending OUR money for the club (we get tickets, jerseys and merchandise FREE) so we are in no position to voice displeasure over the way the club is run. If Berlu runs Milan like his treehouse club when he was 9 we should humbly bow and say "grazie". This season we'll remain in the bent position when we play Inter- the perennial losers who are hotly pursuing the
overrated garbage player in Quaresma.
Finally Wenger is so stupid that he rejected us- the GREAT MILAN :wow: - when we made an offer for Adebayor (who, if we don't get was surely not good enough anyway).......perhaps the offer was so low that Wenger in his stupidity thought it bordered on insulting :dontkn: Doesn't Wenger know that ONLY GOOD PLAYERS ARE TRANSFERED FOR PEANUTS

Lets rather worry about Jankulovski VS CR7 in today's Czech Rep vs Portugal game.
What I read from channel4 about Adebayor, Milan tried to ask Arsenal by sending letter to them asking about Adebayor but Arsenal havent yet given Milan an answer. So, there is still possibility for Milan. We just need to wait.
It will be Drogba, Adebayor or Eto'o but I am still sure it will be Drogba (and Ronaldinho). :D
We cant just throw away Ronaldinho from Milan transfer wish, he is a player that Milan must buy if the transfer is getting close to the end.
i saw that ancelotti said that Boruc is too expensive, and so did Braida, but Braida stated that, there may still be a possibility.

Adebayor must be a smoke screen..because I dont see Wenger selling him to us..."they will get the answer they deserve" he was quoted as saying....and maybe a "non-answer" is what he means...
If they dont answer, its paramount to us not getting him...its that simple...if he does want the switch, its a different thing. Maybe he does. Still prefer Gomez and Benzema (though not necessairly in that order).
Not too worried in truth if we dont get R10...we do need an attacking midfielder to rotate with Kaka and Seedorf...so lets see...

Warro if we play 4-3-1-2 for the majority of the season, Seedorf and Kaka will be rotating for that 1 spot. I think we need a creative player to play as part of the 3 midfielders rather than a pure CAM. Players of the mould of Fabregas, Iniesta, Anderson, Modric all of which are unavailable of course but I think we need a player of that style.

i hope to god gattuso and ambro get benched rest of tourney. Maybe thatll wake galliani up that they are PAST there prime. Its not an age thing. Zanetti at inter is still class at 35. Maldini was up to 36...and he still is useful to this day. Nesta is also at 32. But each player is different. you cannot deny gattuso has lost a step. and Ambro frankly never was class. Both r now useful squadp layers.... but you have a problem if you consider them 2/3 your starting midfield

So you're saying that since Parma got relegated, Cigarini and Dessena are not as good anymore? I can't say I agree with that logic at all...
Also they wouldn't cost a lot at all and Cigarini is a class player just look at his U21 performances. If his name were Cigarinho we'd be all over him. Let's not forget the importance of having Italian players in the team, with the proposed 6 + 5 rule coming up.

No I'm saying they arent good enough to make a real contribution in our midfield as of now. I said they will be good.
They wouldn't be in our starting 11 next season any way...we could integrate him in the squad during the coming season and if he exceeds expectations then maybe he could start. Better to get him now than wait when he's at Roma and 4 times the price.
We dont need to pay 20 mln for Moutinho, players like Cigarini and Dessena are good enough. Specially Cigarini.
Drogba is right now a better palyer then Adebayor, but Adebayor is only 24 years old and that means 8 more years of top football. Noone wants to play in a club that has no chance to win championships ( Arsenal at this moment, with 90% Hleb ačlso leaving ). But the real hope is that Benzema will play for Milan, that is no.1 dream for me.
And Ronaldinho, as someone said, cannont be let go just like that, he is too good for that.

we have ALOT of italian players. We are not inter. I'm not saying dont buy italian players. I'm saying buy best players regardless of nationality. If our roster was less italian i would suggest buying more italians. But i dont think thats an issue.
First team italians: Boriello, pippo, pirlo, ambro, gattuso, brocchi, antonini, maldini, favalli, nesta, bonera, oddo, zambrotta, abbiati, paloschi
if it were up to me we'd cut 5 of those.... but 15 first team italians is pretty good

my opinion has always been buy italian. All of the great Milan sides had a great italian core.
Im surprised none of you guys have talked about the Benzema rumours flying arround, Mediaset reported it this morning. Well the story goes that if Milan are going to spend 50 mill euros on drogba and Eto we will have to spend a huge amount on there wages. However if we signed Benzema his wages would be alot less. For a 20 year old hes amazing. Also they said there could have been reasons why we let Lyon get LLoris.. I hope we dont sign Adebayor, i think Benzema would be a better player for us.

Gosh, someone agrees with me... I thought I was standing all alone on that one... indeed, I may be so pro-Italian... I'm not against some foreign signings. I was pleased with Mathieu Flamini signing for us...

our current starting lineup could be as many as 9 italians. (kaka and pato being only non) there is NO other big club in the world who is that nationalized. I believe all teams should ahve a core of players of there country. I think the epl is kinda sickening w/ no english players.....however look at there success.
Look all i'm saying is. we will still have a largely italian core. but on a REAL talent level... its not good enough to win. If that means we need to buy non italian, then we do. I am for the BEST player.

There are a few in Argentina that are almost entirely Argentine... I think one that doesn't even have one foreign star. But they are smaller clubs. I think if we have more Italians it will be better for national team standing. I don't want to see our best Italians sit on the bench, like in England where the best English players sit on the bench in favor of international players.
I think with the Italian core we are fully capable in winning. Just a few more signings, including a big name striker or two, and we will be fine. I am for the best player too... but I think we need to recognize we can find the best in Italy too. But dont' get me wrong, I'm all for signing a few big names internationally. I was upset when Milan didn't get Hugo Lloris for example...
Yeah, I know that Flamini is of Italian descent... he's fully welcomed to Milan. I wonder if he knows Italian?
my opinion has always been buy italian. All of the great Milan sides had a great italian core.
I agree 100% I never thought otherwise either....but in the event that
1)the non italian is a better deal (similar skills better price)
2)the nonitalian is MUCH better
3)there are no world class Italians in the opposition atm
We shouldn't let a player's passport blind us to him. Overall you are right....let the selling out go to Inter.....However atm most of the best Italian players are for some reason or the other unavailable. We shouldn't try to force the issue with others who don't enhance the club

Just to turn your attention ( as Ive read here that Dec is no longer a great palyer ) to the way Deco plays for Portugal right now and in the last game, he is brilliant.
The thing Rijkaard did with his players is scandalous, horrible.
Dos Santos was sold for nothing, to a club that will win something in 50 years, and he was considered the best young player on earth. Rijkaard made him look like an average palyer.
Deco - "not fit", out of form...well it doesnt look like that now.
Abidal - himself said today that he plays oor becouse they dont train wel in Barcelona.
Zambrotta - slower then before, not too old to be fast still.
Ronaldinho - ?? Whatever, but he is the most talented palyer on earth nd Milan simply needs to sign him.
Henry - ??????????????????????????????????????????????????
Yaya Toure - Rijkaard sdid what with him? nothing, made him play worse then before he came to Barcelona.
milito - worse then ever.
--------------------------------------------------
We need to sign Ronaldinho, that wil be super transfer as this man only needs 2 months or REAL preparations and Seedorf can forget about starting 11.

Hello everyone, this will be my first post and i would like to say that i enjoy everyones passion for Milan.I only have one opinion about this striker search. While we are linked to players that have become established stars such as Drogba,Eto'o,Berbatov and then also up and comers stars such as Benzema,Gomis,Adebayor and Gomez. That's where the problem is,we are always going to pay higher price for these players.Where other clubs groom them to become stars and other clubs pay the high prices.
That said,Milans best signing have always come on buying a player that have been young and at a lower price.Examples Pirlo,Kaka,Gattuso,Ambro and [Pato compared to today's standards].So why doesn't Milan go back to what works for them and stop wheeling and dealing for players that are too old for the price or too young for the price. How would you like to be on the other side, just like when we sold Sheva.

Milan got lucky w/ pirlo. Kaka was a known talent in brazil. Sheva same in ukraine. Pato was fought over by all the big clubs. I wouldnt call these unknown signings...I do agree we should shoot younger than for drogba etc. bec ause we will jsut have to address this again in 2 seasons.
We have bought EXTREMLY SERIOUSELY injured Ronaldo, emerson, Oddo ( 30 ), Oliveira for a lot of money...
Ronaldinho is 28 years old, not an injured player, never had a serious injury in his life, without a dopught the most skilfull player on earth, and the most talented one. This season was horrible. But I let you know already what Rijkaard did to his players. Ronaldinho is fad up with Barcelona and coach. I assure you, with one summer of Milanello Ronaldinho would play as hell.

What did we get out of Ronaldo and Emerson? Not much. Yes we did buy an injured Emerson, and that was perhaps one of our worse signings. Oliveira? We ended up selling him to Real Zaragoza... he played few games with Milan. At least we got a lot of our money back in that deal.
Ronaldinho is not the most skilled in the world anymore. He's past his best. And not only that even if I'm wrong, Kaka and Ronaldinho have never really played well with each other... just look at the world cup and the games of Brazil with them both.

*sigh*. Dru, not singling you out but using your post as an example.
In my opinion this sums up what this thread has become. This is supposed to be a thread where we debate possible transfers or discuss confirmed transfers in a pleasant manner.
Instead its mainly filled with the following:
- complaints over how the club is managed
- complaints over past transfer seasons
- criticising and insulting current players
- criticising and insulting potential transfers or suggested transfers etc
With all due respect to everyone here, what gives us the right to criticise or insult management/players? What makes us better than them? What makes us experts?
If we were so good at what we do then we would be working for Milan or even playing in the starting XI !!
But no, we are actually sitting on the internet arguing that we know better than everyone else.
In reality nothing we say or do in this thread is actually going to make a difference to who we buy or how things are run.
If people are so discontented with Milan, why are you even supporting them?
If Milan buy nobody for the rest of the transfer window, are you going you to stop supporting them? Are you going to throw your toys out of the cot and threaten to stop supporting them?
Me, I'm a Milan supporter regardless of what we win, who plays for us or in which division/competition we play for.
If we bought 5x serie-b players and were relegated to serie-c I would still support them.
I've stated what I wanted to.
I'm going to attempt to keep this thread focused, civil and pleasant. I don't live in the past, I can't go back and change it.
Dunno about the rest of you?

Second of course all of us would be more than just happy if Milan signed great players whether they were famouse or not for low prices, but the problem is where are these players?
At the moment there are many good players available ( for the right price of course ) so as long as all the other clubs pay big then we also have to do so, espicially if these players deserve whether its because the quality football which they will produce ( like Benzema& Dinho) or for the number of merchandise they will sell (Dinho nce more).

I agree with you. I'm tired of arguing with people about the past. We should only look towards the future and obviously that is what Milan is doing right now, jumping on the transfer season early.
I just don't understand why people think Ronaldinho would play well in Milan. He doesn't play well with Kaka. Either it's him or Kaka out on the field, not both of them.
I am leaving this forum. Apparently my opinions are too negative (this is true they are indeed negative) and too harsh for you guys (mods/management included)
I have just received an infraction for swearing....using the word $#!t (spelt exactly this way mind you) ....and let me just apologise to anyone I might have offended.
It is clear that neither I nor my critical and often sarcastic posts are wanted so I'll leave......at least for a couple days...I just want you all to know that I get upset because I love Milan and don't want to see recurrence of the abyssmal season we have just had. It is clear what is needed and to see us perpetually bury our heads in the sand is frustrating and quite sad. I am of the firm view that not because I love Milan and YES I love our management as well- means I must applaud when they make poor decisions or intentionally deceive or disrespect us loyal fans who buy their stuff.
take care all,
dru.

You bet, one of the MAJOR reasons that we have been losing some top posters is exactly the reason you stated about. WE used to have really cool posters and most of them are gone.
We have been trying to keep a forum civilized, smart, crticial, end constructive. Yet we need to maintain a sense of freedom of speech which, unfortunately, many people have taken for granted and thought that freedom of speech = I can say whatever I like.
WE have really been losing some top quality posters, and that deeply saddens me. We are not other forums where you can swear or say/write whatever you want. If you want to do that, you can go to other forums; they have much less strict rules.
Cheers to all - J
Final note: I disagree about whether suporting Milan. I think there are some who just have a different way toexpress their love for Milan. I beg for your patience.

yeah i agree with the Ronaldinho talks, i think we will be better off with Nasri. Its just not worth the gamble.
I read something else earlier how Belusconi wants the club to pay more for itself, and that he wouldnt put as much money into anymore. If that is indeed true i think it will have massive consequences for the club.
For example without our own stadium we will struggle to generate huge amounts of income. Without money we wont be able to sign the best players to keep ourselves competitve with Inter, Juve and at this point we would have to start thinking about offloading some of our stars just to get enough to buy new players.

I completely agree with you. I am very much disappointed with our performance last season. But these endless bashings of players and Milan make me feel sick. All of a sudden, Quaresma becomes the hottest prospect! They forget that we have Pato. I don't say that we don't need more signings to fight for the double. Sometimes, I feel that I am reading an Inter forum.
Final note: I disagree about whether suporting Milan. I think there are some who just have a different way toexpress their love for Milan. I beg for your patience.
This is what I really like. There are many types of Milan fans. Some people are just happy with the condition Milan whatever the condition are, some upset when Milan are not the best team in Italy and the world, etc.
If some people keep moaning about management, etc they do it for Milan, they do it because they love Milan. It doesnt mean if Milan go to serie B, they wont supprot them.
The same goes to people who are happy with Milan condition now. They love Milan and showing their love just like that.
But they are not better fans or truely fans compare to the other who keep moaning or vise versa. It's just how people act.
Different heads, differenet brains we have. The implication : The chance of having diffrent ideas are so big!
As long as every porster respect other poster, the discussion can go on.

Yes quaresma SUCKS! just like cristiano ronaldo. We had an awful season and a ****ty transfer campaign.
I dont know if you are all blind, but as someone who watches all leagues, and other top teams (aka i dont just watch ac milan, i watch manUtd, inter, Real Madrid if they r on). Milan is simply not i nthere league. Sure we beat inter once this year but our record speaks for itself.
I want only the best for AC Milan and I'm not seeing it. And more so galliani and braidas smugness fuels my fire. In my opinion they both need to go. Galliani should have left post calciopoli...but berlu is a loyal man (not a bad quality). I jsut think milan is in denial of what modern football is and will be left further behind w/ mourinho coming into inter. Juve rising again.
Someone right it earlier, but pride comes right before the fall but its true. I just think after an embarassing 5th place finish in a mediocre serie A (sorry it is not what it was 10 years ago) . This is right time for a rebuild, some major changes and start afresh. But its the same recycled ****...reality is what it is.
but you all ahve a problem when any players are bashed so here... i'll say what i think of our current squad....I'm not going to say they suck ro anything, just give rational logicial arguments for my feelings...
Gattuso is not makelele or maldini. those players as there physical tools decline see the game so well they can make up for it. Gattuso has always been a player based on emotion physical aggressiveness and timing. when your physical tools go away and ur timing goes off... he doesnt have much other than a huge heart. He is still useful, but its foolish to think he will contibute like he did in WC 06.
-Ambrosini has never been great. always been a good fighter off bench.
-Oddo is 32...we saw he couldnt get up field or cross like he used to
-Kalatze is error prone
-Nesta is 32, class but will not go on forever
-Maldini is a legend but he is 40.. anything he contributes ill consider a plus but i dont expect much out of him
-Janku hasnt played a whole season in years
-Favalli is 36 and cant stop any player w/ pace of the edge
-Pippo again hasnt played more than 1/3 of games the last 5 seasons...he cannot be counted to carry us all year
I mean i can really go on... i havent even gotten into the emersons and brocchis....
I would give anything for galliani's job personally. Unfortunately no1 is asking me :-D
edit: my point is we need to start looking at it realistically and rationally. Just so you know I own a gattuso jersey....he is my favorite milan player. I have no hatred of any milan players
Well all i'm saying is let Milan be the smart ones out there and not the likes of Arsenal who don't even reply to our VP Gallani after showing respect and interest in a player.
Milan removed one year is a team that looks like it is a mess to alot of people, but really is not that far from being on top again.Milan are looking for a striker well what's wrong with Borriello ,he can't be worse than Ronaldo who played 14games for us last year and yes Ronaldo did play well with 7goals,but that's where the problem was.We depended on a injury prone player, who sadly injured himself again.Do you guys really think that clubs like Real Madrid will sell a player like Ronaldo for cut price just because he was having problems with the team or more because he was risk at his age.If we are looking for a striker why not go after someone like Jeremy Menez from Monaco,i know everyone loves Benzema and i have watched both players live and on TV the past 2 years and this only a opinion,Benzema plays on a team with alot more talent.Which in result better service for him and more chances at goal.Jeremy Menez plays alone and to me he has more pace and better control. He'sbetter player for Milan because 1 he can play in different attacking roles, that means he can replace Seedorf,Kaka and Pato. And of course he is 21 and is not valued at 50million like Benzema. Now i'm not knocking Benzema because he is a stronger player physically, but i just see Menez being a very skilled player that will be a star on the right team and hopefully it's Milan.

right on jmacpherson..it is really getting annoying reading the same complaints from the same users over and over again.. there are so many things I'd like to do if I were in charge of Milan (like sell Rino Gattuso) but I am not...all I can do is debate - do you guys still think Gattuso has it, I dont think so.
Is it really that hard to keep your cool instead of saying Gattuso can't pass for shyt, Favalli is the most useless player I dont even know why he is alive, Emerson that wild bore has been bought to make our bench more expensive.. some people really need to chill down.

You're gonna tell us that we are blind? I'm going to tell you spending tons of money and bringing in a ton of new players will not solve anything... we need to find chemistry within the team. Milan is far pass Inter, Real Madrid and ManU in my opinion... this season was just a fluke. Stop your complaining. You're not changing anything and you're not convincing anyone by calling people blind. You certainly are not convincing me.
I want only the best for AC Milan and I'm not seeing it. And more so galliani and braidas smugness fuels my fire. In my opinion they both need to go. Galliani and Braida are doing a lot this transfer season. Seriously, modern football? What's that? Become a bordello for players like ManU or Arsenal? No thank you. I'd much rather stick by a family of footballers. Juve signs Mellberg and Amauri... how is that better than who we have signed? It isn't.
And Mourinho is a man of big words, but few results. Anyone knows that.
Someone right it earlier, but pride comes right before the fall but its true. I just think after an embarassing 5th place finish in a mediocre serie A (sorry it is not what it was 10 years ago) . Bayern had a mediocre season and ended up in fifth, and the next season they won their domestic title getting in first.

For one, there are a few problems here. Ambrosini offers a lot of quality for Milan and should stay. Oddo was injured this season and its not his fault. Kaladze is a damn fine defender, but he does need to cut out the one mistake a game thing. Nesta is one of the best slide tacklers... and should stay as long as he wants. Favalli I do agree should retire. But Pippo? Stop criticizing Inzaghi. He's carried a lot for us, and HE DAMN WELL CAN BE COUNTED ON.
I would give anything for galliani's job personally. Unfortunately no1 is asking me :-D
Frankly I'd much rather have no on here on Galliani's job, and especially not you.
Like Milano84 said, some of you are simply blind.
Milan has no team that can compete at the highest level right now. We are old, slow and we have a lously coach and a president that apparently doesnt invest money into the club anymore.
Fine, we will still all support Milan, but lets be real.
Mercato is horrible in past 4 years, we have bought only ONE good palyer - Pato. The rest was mostly failure or mediocre players by agr and money...and quality.
Berlusconi is full of $h!t and Galliani, Braida and Carlo are his puppys that do whatever he says. They work without money and Carlo works without balls. Result is - 5th place in horrible serie a that hasnt been this week in 15 years or so.
Modern footbal is here, Maldini, Oddo, Favalli, Emerson, Brocchi, Dida, Simic, Seedorf cant play it anymore. And Rino, Ambro, Pirlo, Nesta, KAladze need a rotation players to be fresh as they are all OLD! yes, old.
WE can lie to uorselves that we can win by buying Drogba, but we cant.
And, as Milano84 said, Inter hired one of the best coaches in the world ( like him or not, he won uefa cup and CL and euro supercup with Porto, 2 league titles with Cheklsea and hasnt lost a home game at all! ). The fact that you are italian doesnt mean you are god of football, Mourinho is a brilliant coach and if you cant see that then you are not so good in knowing football my friend. With the squad they have now ( which is stronger then ours ) and the players that will Mourinho will bring, plus Juve who is always Juve and was 10 pts in front of us even with a team that objectively novhere close to real Juventus, we are FAR behind.
If you people think that Jankulovski can play a good season, and that Oddo will suddenly play well, that Seedorf can play whole season at the top, that Pirlo, Rino and Ambrosini can play 40 games per season - the you are blind. Sorry but you are.
Hey Giancarlo, you've got an answer for everything, and your posts have become increasingly annoying to me. Just to set the record straight, how is winning Portuguese league twice, UEFA cup, Champions League, 2 Premier league titles, FA cup, not winning anything?
Eagerly awaiting your answer...

This comment is simply ridiculous and comes from a man that is not objective as a fan. Oddo was injured, and even when he was healthy he was horrible in attacking phase. And now he is 31 or 32 and who says he will be 100% fit and better then before? For sure he has not got a big future. To be real - Oddo WAS and Is a real dissapointmena in Milan so far.
Kaladze is good but makes a mistake every game -hahahaha!!! Those players I call - not good enough my friend. A denfender that makjes a mistake per game is unrealable and if he wasnt playing with the best defender in universe - Nesta - he would have made 3 mistakes per match. Kala is a good defender, for a rotation player.
Pippo I agree - superpippo. But he can play 10 games per season and that means he can only be 4th striker right now. Be real, he is 35.

How are we blind if we dispute your constant complaining? Frankly this is getting quite childish. And it falls on you and him.
Milan most certainly does have a world class team. Old and slow? You sound more like an Inter fan. some of you might as well go support inter, because it seems like you criticize our team more than any other.
Our team is no older (our backline and midfield) than any other out there. In fact even Manchester United has a similiar age line-up. A lousy coach? You are calling Ancelotti lousy? How the hell is the guy lousy? He led Milan to more glory than Ferguson has done in what? FIFTEEN YEARS. He's done more in 7 years than Ferguson has done in 15.
Berlusconi is full of $h!t and Galliani, Braida and Carlo are his puppys that do whatever he says. They work without money and Carlo works without balls. Result is - 5th place in horrible serie a that hasnt been this week in 15 years or so.

More complaining and crying. More bashing of players, and most of this is unsupported. Maldini, Oddo and Seedorf can't play anymore? So we should just force them to retire? How the hell is Pirlo old anyways? Nesta is one of the best tacklers in the world, and that still stands. Berlusconi is a lot more decent than you, and he will put money into this.
So what if we had a bad season? Instead of crying and complaining, the team needs our support so it can improve next season and win the Scudetto. Complaining and taking stabs at the team will DO absolutely nothing to help them.
Here is my take, I'm sick and TIRED of this crying and complaining. If it doesn't stop, I'm leaving this forum.

Mourinho is a damn loser that didn't win Chelsea a DAMN THING INTERNATIONALLY. Even Avram Grant got closer to a CL title than that fool ever came close to getting. It doesn't matter what he won with Porto. He won nothing internationally with Chelsea and he has a big mouth. And so far I've seen Inter give up few players, and buy almost nothing. In fact there are reports that they are keeping Burdisso, and that Balotelli might indeed leave.
You guys ought to quit your complaining, or I'm OUT OF HERE.

I'm not objective? Seriously? Are you kidding me? I'M NOT OBJECTIVE? MY WORD. You're you the most subjective individual on here, and I'm not the one calling everyone blind because we don't agree with your pathetic opinions!

I'm not a child. You are a damn child. You act like one and everything you post in here is like one. You're not a Milan fan. Pippo is reliable more than Drogba because he has a goalscoring sense unmatched by him. Makes no sense? Sorry for sticking with my team.
talking nonsence does not mean sticking with Milan. I stick with Milan every game even if we loose, but the truth is above everything else.
Pippo is a bigger player then Drogba, after all, he is a record breaker inewvery sence, he is a legand. But right now to have Drgba in a team is more of an advantage then to play Inzaghi. Its just that the time sometimes does its own things, players get old and that is it. Pippo cant play mroe then 10-15 games at top tempo, that is a fact.
I see yoiu say you know people from managment - should we be impressed? Wow... then call them and ask then to join MM, it would be more interesting.
Ah, the truth comes out...you know people in the management of Milan. Please, give them my warmest congratulations on their awesome 5th place finish. They really must have listened to all your advice in order to make such an impressive achievment. Say hi to Moratti when you get there.

talking nonsence does not mean sticking with Milan.
There you go editing your posts again. You're the one talking nonsense. I almost think you know next to nothing about Milan and what the facts are in this matter.
Pippo is going to stay as long as he plays well and he is playing well. Age is one thing, quality is an entirely different matter. Some players fizzle out in their early 30s.
I see yoiu say you know people from managment - should we be impressed? Wow... then call them and ask then to join MM, it would be more interesting.
Not me personally, but family of mine does.
Editing your posts after I reply to it is extremely childish.

I totally agree !!
I tried once or twice to explain the same thing but you did it so well !! :pr115:
right on jmacpherson..it is really getting annoying reading the same complaints from the same users over and over again.. there are so many things I'd like to do if I were in charge of Milan (like sell Rino Gattuso) but I am not...all I can do is debate - do you guys still think Gattuso has it, I dont think so.
Is it really that hard to keep your cool instead of saying Gattuso can't pass for shyt, Favalli is the most useless player I dont even know why he is alive, Emerson that wild bore has been bought to make our bench more expensive.. some people really need to chill down.
I agree with you. I'm tired of arguing with people about the past. We should only look towards the future and obviously that is what Milan is doing right now, jumping on the transfer season early.
Jeff,GeoTav,Giancarlo,Hitmannq8 thanks but almost immediately the subsequent posts prove my point.
I agree that different people express their support in different manners and one way over another doesn't lessen their support for Milan.

jesus i go on lunch and this board goes INSANE. Giancarlo I have no doubt your heart is in the right place but facts are facts.
Fact we barely achieved 4th in 06/07. Fact we got 5th in 07/08. These are signs something is wrong. And whats more disturbing is. We have a WEAK juve (compared to historical power they were). Roma is ok, but cant compete w/ us financially putting them automatically a step behind. so really it should have just been us and inter.
The facts speak... our team is SLOW.
1) We got killed all season flanks which is why i'm so adamant about young FBs. Arsenal did it w/ eboue and hleb. eboue is not very good. Nothing speaks louder than juve game where Salimahovic scored twice. He is a mediocre winger. bad? no... cristiano ronaldo? BY NO MEANS. so there is problem 1 to address... I love zambro but he's a temporary fix. And that still leaves us vunerable on 1 side. Maldini cannot play LB anymore... he is tooo slow. He is smart enough to play an effective CB though.
2) of MF was attrotious. MY theory on it is this. We start 2 DMs who offer nothing offensivley (minus ambro on corners). They are also slow (netherlands game speaks for itself) Pirlo is a man who given space is genius. but when he is next to 2 DMs who present no offensive attack. He gets shut down. Now in games w/ italy where he's w/ de rossi and perotta or aquilani etc etc... you have seen the results. He does stuff that boggle your mind, but in our current configuation, he isnt able to do what he can
3) attack. Kaka is most effective w/ 2 strikers infront. That is undeniable. However pippo is always hurt. I love pippo and think he has a place in our squad. but you really cant o**** on him to make more than 12 starts. I love him as a game changing sub....Borriello i just dont think highly of. He hasnt proven himself, simple as that. Pato is young and cannot do it himself. Ideally i would have wanted us to move boriello, bring in quagliarella and then sign another striker... berbatov, etoo, jo, **** im open...
4) Goalkeeping... its been documented
I really dont think any of these problems have really been issued enough to see us do marginally better... possibly 3rd place
ps i havent even gotten into problem of players liek gattuso, oddo (maybe even pirlo) who look complacent and bored at milan. Giancarlo i welcome your response to my points. I'd like to think more positively about our team... i just dont

Milan084, I think you are posting in the wrong thread. This thread is strictly about transfers and such. Maybe we should just stick to transfers. Didn't we have a point deduction in 06/07 though? Yes facts are facts and I accept them. And yes I do disagree with you on just about everything, but we really must be getting back to what is important.
This is a transfers thread, so please lets get back to transfers.

Milan continues to look for a great striker. Given the difficulties in meeting the high costs of Eto'o and Drogba, the Rossoneri are focusing on Adebayor. The agent of the Togolese national who plays for Arsenal is expected in Milan to continue with the negotiations.
The Rossoneri are however toying with an alternative. According to English press reports Milan would have joined Manchester City in the race for Jo. The 21 year old Brazilian striker of Cska Moscow, who scored two goals against Inter in the Champions League, has physical and technical characteristics similar to Adebayor.

If we don't buy any striker before the end of Euro, that will mean we are seriously looking for Benzema ... because let's be honest, don't expect a move from Lyon to Milan for Benzema while he plays for the French NT in Switzerland/Austria !!

Has huntelaar ever been mentioned? Multiple 30+ goal seasons. Likens to RVN and the type of player we need. I would have thought management would have been all over it considering our luck w/ the dutch in the past/present
If we get Benzema..that means no Dinho I'm assuming. I'm not gonna be complaining though! With Zambro, Pirlo, Kaka, Flamini and the new fullback feeding them...either Pato or Benzema will definitely break 20 goals in the league!
You may ask why I want another fullback...it's because I don't trust Janku's defensive capabilities one bit. I think they'll keep him though because he's very good going forward but then what do we do against the top teams? We probably won't get a LB this summer though...seeing that we brought in Antonini already.
EDIT: ^^ Huntelaar is a personal favourite and I think he'll do well with a creative midfield and active flanks which we should have next season. He's definitely cheaper than Benzema and has a more consistent record to show as well. I wouldn't mind either to be honest.

And it's also good to have reinforcements. I'm sure that Jankulovski will get better... he was one a great player for Milan. He had some bad injuries this last season... but we need someone to replace him in that recovery. Well, I'm anxious to hear about who we sign.
Milano, Huntelaar's too YOUNG for us right now!
He's actually my top choice, but I don't think we'll get him. Was hoping to see him on display this month but I've heard he picked up an injury. My only complaint of his is during the dutch league he was pretty good, but his skill on the ball is where I get nervous. Lack of control is easier to get away with against Groningen, Nijmegin and Den Haag. Not so easy against Juve, Inter, or Roma. Being Dutch I'm biased, and he could develop into a real poacher or holding forward. Honestly, if the price were right, why not? We've got a year to build and develop and we wouldn't be throwing around silly money for someone who may/may not pan out.
Here's a link to the latest story concerning him.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=545485&cc=5901
As you can see, another MARCA exclusive, so take that as you will.
i would hate to talk about religion or politics with some of you guys, the way you guys go after each other just over transfers and the teams future. What ever anyone says on this forum is never going to matter to Galliani. We voice our opinion because of our love for Milan.Milan is a great club,in fact the greatest club when it comes done to foriegn trophies. We should have faith in a team with such history. We are all inpatient when it comes down to winning.Every great club has had a bad season and that said i believe Milan will not rest without improving our club. The track record speaks for itself.
I couldn't understand we buy a Huntelaar-like striker after having sold Gilardino ...
I think our management is looking for a different kind of striker, a kind of striker who is able to create himself some occasions (Adebayor, Drogba, Benzema, Eto'o can) and/or to play with his head (Adebayor, Drogba, Benzema too but has to improve).
For Jankulovski, I'm still afraid that he gets injuries again next season ... after one entire year like that with injuries, the previous season, he had some injuries too, I'm not confident about him playing the whole season. So Antonini/Zambrotta are welcome !!
Well, Huntelaar is a bit more active inside and outside the box than Gila was with Milan. At the end, Gila was growing roots in the box. For a box poacher, you have to move and make your space *cue genius of Pippo*; Gila didn't do it, Huntelaar, RvN, those guys do it.
However, it won't mean a hill of beans if we don't have people to give good service into the box.

Wow not here for a day and a hell breaks lose.
We all have to kiss and make up, if we haven't done so already.:p3129:
I will start by saying I have had a change of heart, and think that this summer transfer window is going splendid, as right as warm summer rain.
Seriously though, I guess management is doing the best they can in the market to field a winner next year. I personally will try and lay off them:kap:, or at least keep certain comments to myself, until the summer transfer market is nearly over.
However, I think some of the people who defend management also have to come off their high horses in the way they defend management at times.
NO management, including ours is infallible.
So defending them inspite of clear evidence of negative results (IMO) can be just as bad or worse than bashing them, as MILAN FANS should not sit and condone or find excuses for certain things that management does with out voicing displeasure.
Having said that I know personally I have been more than a bit critical of management...but I will attempt to focus on the positive steps they are taking to fix the problem instead of looking at what steps I think management made in the past that got us in this position.

Question...have we ever been linked to David Villa?
I don't think so ... anyway I don't remember so it wasn't a very big link, if a link there was !! lol
I know he's constantly linked to Barcelona and Real Madrid, Valencia even recalled he has had a contract there so speculations would have to stop ...
So let me get this straight.
According to that member with a Pippo Inzaghi avatar, everything in Milan is perfect, all the players (minus Favalli and one or two more) are world class, better than every other player in every other team.
All the other teams are worse than Milan, nowhere near Milan.
All the transfers other teams make are bad, while all the transfers Milan make are great.
Maggio is a great player who'll do wonders for Milan, but he becomes an Interista after he signs for Napoli.
Sissoko, Mourinho, Drogba, Ronaldinho, Amauri are a joke, Borriello and Antonini will be great players for Milan.
Right ?
If this is what he says then i completely agree with him and i disagree with everyone else here who disagrees with him.

Who? Me? You have what I said all wrong, but this is not the place for it. I never said all milan players were all world class. Emerson, Brocchi, Favalli... they are not world class.
The transfers we are making are quite good and adequate. By the way, I never said it was highly likely Maggio would sign. I was the one warning that he was an Inter fan, and not a fan of the Rossoneri obviously.
Don't misstate what I say. And lets get back to the transfers... so far I'm not hearing anything else... we don't need sarcasm either.
I think new signings are necessary in order to do well and contest for the Scudetto.

In all honesty I think management is waiting for the end of the market when we think they're all done to really start getting serious with that transefer. I wouldn't count us out just yet,:r14: despite what management is telling the media.
But...
If we decide to pass on him and he goes to Man City (or anywhere else) and starts tearing it up.:wallbang:
We'll look like Jack Asses!!! :5horse:
Many players drop off in form and then come back to have several years of top class football after...I expect nothing less from Ronaldinho.:p286:
I just think that the transfer is good but inadqueate. We need more.

always been a fan of Behrami and we were also once linked with him I think. Lazio wanted to sue Behrami a few weeks ago because he wanted to use the UEFA Article 17 thing to break his contract with them.. he's a solid midfielder that can play RB too, but in both those positions we seem to be fine.
Galliani has narrowed down our striker options to - Adebayor, Drogba and Eto'o...when Galliani says such things it means that this is Plan B. Plan A is always another secret player that they believe is better, but if that didnt work out they would go for one of these and claim that they achieved their target on the market.
I think Milan will try for Villa and maybe even C.Ronaldo if he declares that he wants to go to Real. At the end of the day I believe we will get Dinho and we will not get Sheva, and I'm afraid I have a feeling that the defence will not be reinforced as we all have wished for. I just hope they get a keeper!
seems boruc is a lost cause, as he is too expensive, claims ancelotti.

lol, so many rumours are thrown around. the latest rumour concerning c.ronaldo is what bugs me the most. my friend walked into a soccer store b4 portugal playd der first game he bought a jersey of manu to put c.ronaldos name on it, and the guy tells us hes not playing at manchester anymore that hed gone to madrid. shows how fooled its got the fans, its really all speculation, he wont end up going anywhere..
