Ronaldinho's match vs Boca (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b-rNe49yqg)

He looks faster, slimmer, and his tricks are actually working. If you look at the amount of through passes he provided that should have been put away, I'm not sure if things look that bleak anymore.

He was awful the two games before and therein lies the problem. He will be up and down this season and if we rely to much on him then we will be just as up and down.

As much as it is hard to buy players for Milan, it seems it's much harder to buy Milan itself :haha:

Suppose the deal really takes on and we see Milan bidding for CR9......150 mil :haha:........have RM get the taste of their own medicine :D

With the current patron struggling to keep the Rossoneri afloat, the club's general administrator is working to become the head honcho...

As the Silvio Berlusconi's Milan continue to struggle for funds amidst the current financial crisis, it seems work is currently underway for Adriano Galliani to mount a takeover bid.

The Rossoneri’s lack of action on the transfer market has caused obvious unrest amongst the fans, who have seen their side begin the pre-season with a run of four consecutive defeats.

With the grumblings set to grow in volume, it is believed that Galliani is working overtime to pave the way for new owners to carry the club forward and bring it from its knees.

According to Tuttosport, the man affectionately known as 'Uncle Fester' is planning to head a group of Israeli businessmen who are ready to invest a substantial sum in the Via Turati club.

It remains to be seen how this move will unfold as Milan continue to struggle in the build-up to the new season.

LOL now what does that make him (Half messiah - Half pariah?):5drunk:

Galliani probably has 1% from this... :)

Its great they decided to sell now when we lost all the possible players. Aldough, I dont believe it will happen. BUT, Ferrero has extremly tastefull chocolates! And my friend works for them also!

On CB's: Juve took Caceres for 0 euro with an option to buy. I know he is not top class, but he is way better player then Onyewu, who is always showing that excapt phisical power he lacks what is needed to be top defender. Caceres is young and has a season in Barcelona, for sure he is a better CB then our man. Galliani also missed in here, as always.

It is abit too late for the takeover now. Then again, Augero and Ribery are still available.

Honestly, watch how Berlu will come out and say that he loves MIlan.....and that he will never sell MIlan to anyone....to make himself the hero, but infact hearing boos all around.

I would not really say Milan dominated during the early part of this decade as they really only won 2 CLs, 1 league and 1 Coppa.

If Milan is taken over, I hope it doesn't mean we follow the current trend of getting into debt. Milan should, and needs to given future laws, stay debt free.

People like the ManC owners don't put the club in debt, they just have a great deficit. Just like Inter have. The reason Inter won the last scudettos is monetary, they had a €200M deficit for years now, while we had about €50M or less. ManU, Liverpool and Arsenal have debts, ManC and Chelsea have not.

Milan Did Not Let Money Talk – Sevilla & Brazil Striker Luis Fabiano

Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has revealed he still wants to play for Milan, but has pointed his finger at the Serie A club for not showing enough money during the initial stages of deal.

The Rossoneri failed to meet the Spanish side's €20 million asking fee, offering only €14m. Sevilla ridiculed the Italian club's bid and the deal went up in smoke after a number of high-powered discussions.

On Thursday, Jose Fuentes, Fabiano's agent, was hopeful that a new deal could be instigated, but the Brazilian international star still has his doubts.

"I would like to play for Milan, even though we have not heard from them for a while now," Fabiano is quoted as saying on Goal.com Italia.

"I am sad that the situation is like this, I don't believe in it much now. Milan did well when they talked, but then they disappeared when it came to the money."

Earlier this week, Milan confirmed the potential transfer was "blocked", leaving little hope of talks restarting.

Marco Storari has returned to Milan this summer after spending last season on loan with Fiorentina, and he hopes to impress new boss Leonardo, who handed him the gloves last night as Milan lost to Argentine side Boca Juniors on penalties in the Audi Cup.

With first-choice Christian Abbiati still recovering from knee ligament surgery and Nelson Dida also sidelined, Storari has been left to fight it out with Australian stopper Zeljko Kalac for a place in the starting XI.

“I am happy with the way things are going,” the net-minder told the club’s official website.

“I am also partially surprised because this is a great opportunity that Milan are giving me. I am here because of Abbiati’s setback and now, due to Nelson [Dida]’s problem, I am among the top two [goalkeepers].

“The club knows my objective - there are four of us and it’s fair to have a pecking order. I don’t know where I stand right now, but I hope not to be the fourth choice.”

Storari could now be in line for a starting role against Inter in an unusual Derby della Madonnina at the end of August.

“It’s too early to talk about that,” he said. “But seeing as it will only be the second match day, anything can happen.”

what is the future for Milan it is plainly obvious that Berlusconi children are more than willing to sell the club they are completely alien to the concept of investing cash into football. i would prefer the fans being able to have the cash to buy the club even if they didn't have the financial resources at least any revenues would be used for players transfers.

Pirlo says goodbye
Friday 31 July, 2009
Andrea Pirlo has played his last game for Milan and will join Chelsea at the start of next week, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

A meeting has apparently been scheduled at Milan's headquarters in Via Turati where the deal will be ratified.

It is as yet unclear how much Milan will receive for Pirlo, though initial reports suggest Chelsea will pay Ł21m over two years.

Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro and England Under-21 defender Michael Mancienne are also likely to form part of the deal, the latter arriving on a one-year loan.

The deal is said to suit Milan Coach Leonardo who has been desperately looking for a striker all summer. Pizarro appears to be the answer to his problems.

Pirlo is expected to sign a three-year contract worth Ł2.1m a year.

If the transfer goes through, Pirlo will be reunited with his former mentor Carlo Ancelotti, who made him one of his first signings for Milan in 2001.

Honostly sometimes I feel like people would praise Inter/Juventus if they bought Titus Bramble or Gabriel Heinze...

Whether it's called a deficit or not doesn't make a huge difference. These clubs are running without being able to sustain themselves. The fact that they all rely on patrons pumping money into the organisation to keep the side competitive isn't good business practice, it's not even adequate.

The reason football is in the state it's in now, with stupidly inflated market values is because these owners (Berlu included) have spent without thinking of the health of the organisation, which is more than just success on the field.

The current approach Milan are taking is correct, in that clubs as businesses should be capable of self-sustainance. I don't agree with our approach to achieve this, as we're just suddenly stopping investment to maintain a healthy financial state (at least for the short term). Instead, we should evolve the organisation, redeveloping and investing more in the youth sector, yet looking to maintain competitiveness for a number of years.

So the Pirlo money go in the bank , and Pizarro Mancienne will come for free , a striker and a wb what we all wanted at the least but not the way we wanted it.

More money for Berlu or whoever and 2 free sub par players , Milan needed investment and new players last year , NOW!!! no Kaka no Pirlo , Sheva , Maldini , Gourcuff , Senderos , Emerson , Darmian (well Emerson Im fine with ).

This is getting a bit much bulldozers cannot win a formula 1 race , a midfield of Rino , Ambro and Flamini cannot do much creative wise and Dibho cannot do everything .

WTF are we going to be like next season dear God I cannot wait to see the chaos unfold , I could be wrong but I doubt it ...SELL SELL SELL , We love chocolate and will buy more to fund Milan wth Ferrero in charge.

Sevilla are looking to cash in on Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano, according to his agent Jose Fuentes.

On Thursday, Fuentes claimed he was hopeful that negotiations could be restarted between both clubs are the initial talks failed. Milan have been on standby, and they could land the hitman after all as the Rojiblancos are looking to sell.

"I spoke with Sevilla and the club have a good intention of selling Luis Fabiano during this summer transfer market," Fuentes told Sky Sport Italia.

Reports in Italy suggest Fuentes has been talking with Sevilla about selling the striker.

It is said Rossoneri coach Leonardo is still keen on Fabiano. Milan failed to land him because their €14 million offer did not meet Sevilla's €20m asking price.

Sky Sport Italia claims the Spanish club may even lower the fee given their willingness to sell the striker.

Milan fitness coach Daniele Tognaccini has tried to reassure angry fans over the physical state of the squad following their fifth defeat in a row.

The Rossoneri lost their Audi Cup clash against Boca Juniors on Thursday to finish last in the friendly tournament, having been defeated 4-1 by Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

With the Serie A season just weeks away from kicking off, fans are demanding answers as Milan had never previously lost five games in a row during a pre-season.

Tognaccini insists the players have had their nose to the grindstone, and they will be ready for the 'Derby della Madonina' on matchday two.

"Milan will be at a good level for the derby," Tognaccini told Sky Sport Italia.

"We knew that the tournament in Germany would be hard, not just because of the opposition, but the logistics involved.

"Apart from the results, everything went well from a physical point of view. We have worked really hard and now we have to see if the situation is at a good point.

"We have expert players, these results will not necessarily affect those of the future. We have time to work and prepare for the league with calmness."

why would galliani want to buy milan?

we havent been winning much the last couple of years..
we ve sold some of our best players the recent years(which means we ve lost some of our fortune)..
and "the books are on minus"

is it because he loves the club??of course not(galliani owns 4-5% of juve too..)

its simple,it is because a club like milan is always a money-machine,one of the most prestigious clubs in the world with hundred thousands of fans is almost impossible to "not having balanced books" at least..and galliani konws it better than anyone.better that silvio too..

he is just another greedy scum..

ps i really hope he(the fascist) eventually sells the club to a man that will have acmilan as his first priority, that will just invest like an honest and decent person (not gr8 amounts of money) not using us for g8er ambitions, and not treating us as his toy...

ps2 pirlo is propably leaving too,and i wouldnt lose even a cent of his value to have pizzaro..

This whole Galliani takeover thing is all a bunch of crap. By the time they finalize the deal, it would be too late to sign anyone as it would be at least September. Until the takeover is completed, the club will stand pat and away from the market (as if we haven't been doing that as it is). This is just yet another lame attempt by the idiots in the management to distract the fans from the real issues, i.e. the crappy job they are doing running the damn team. Wow, these guys are really unbelievable, seriously.

It really is incredible the decline Milan is in, and it's not like we are slowly declining we are travelling 400km/h down a steeeeeeep hill.

I really believe Galliani has intentions to do well, but he's not the main man. And he dosen't make the final decisions if he's told to be cheap, he has to be cheap.

I really hope Berlusconi gets his hands off Milan, as long as we have the resource for money (wether the owner is Israeli, Italian etc) and we have a passionate manager who commits himself to bringing the best to Milan, we will be fine.

And it's SO obvious Berlusconi dosen't care about Milan, if he did we wouldn't be in the pit we are in today. But somehow he still says "I love Milan, and will never sell it".

I really don't understand why we didn't go for him, he was just the player we needed for our midfield even for the attack and he was relatively cheap by our standards.

AC Milan lost both their matches in the Audi Cup, falling 4-1 to Bayern Munich before being defeated on penalties in the consolation game by Boca Juniors.

The coach of the Argentine side, Alfio Basile, believes the Italian outfit have become significantly less competitive over the past couple of seasons.

"I have spoken to [Milan coach] Leonardo, who is worried," he revealed to the Corriere dello Sport on Friday.

"[President Silvio] Berlusconi must assist in buying players for their attack, compared to the 2007 team that won the World Club Cup they are missing a lot, mostly their offensive potential."

Milan won the 2007 World Club Cup in Japan by defeating Boca Juniors 4-2. The Rossoneri have not won a competition since that time. The Italian side have also failed to bring in a replacement for Brazilian star Kaka, who left the club for Real Madrid this summer in a €65 million deal.

Man, I'm getting fed up of checking the news every morning and finding out the usual--Milan still haven't signed anyone. Really, management should just come clean, if the transfer budget is only 14M, then give us some idea so we know what to expect.

Berlusconi did promise to use the Kaka money to strengthen the team---so far, we have done nothing...

If he can't accept other people's opnions, no matter how positive or negative they are, then he should look elsewhere for a place where fans don't express what they truly feel....

Very true mate..... I don't really care if MGT says we won't get anyone, but just tell us fans for God's sake instead of lying..... !

Obviously if MGT can't find one cent out of roughly 80 million to reinvest in players, they should know themselves that it is time to find a new President.....

Milan have lost five consecutive pre-season matches and alarm bells are ringing around the club's headquarters at Via Turati, as coach Leonardo believes he requires a larger squad to compete for trophies.

The club have done little to reinforce themselves after selling talisman Kaka to Real Madrid for €65 million and after a number of failed attempts for strikers will turn their attention back to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to the the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Dutch hitman is now surplus to requirements at the White House after their historic spending spree this summer and Milan are hoping they can prise him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Rossoneri attempted that feat earlier this summer, wanting to take the former Ajax star on-loan, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to sell the player outright in order to recoup part of the €27 million spent on the player last winter.

The 25-year-old reportedly rejected a move to Stuttgart and is now also linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

And lead us on another wild goose chase of false hope Galliani, just to make it appear to us fans that you are trying when you really aren't! You think you can buy players for peanuts? No way!

Do you have a link to this story?

Excerpt from wiki:

In January 2009, Newcastle United invited him for a week long trial with their first team.[3] It was also informed in Finnish IS Veikkaaja, that Udinese Calcio and Middlesbrough F.C. are watching his progress.

In April 2009, Express.de told, that Raitala is 1. FC Köln's top candidate to replace Pierre Womé as their left-back.[4] In April 23, Express.de told, that Raitala is going to meet Köln and he has an exit clause in his new contract with HJK.[5] This was later denied by the Finnish club.

On April 21, 2009, Raitala signed a new three-year deal with HJK.[6] It was also informed in Veikkaaja-magazine, that Udinese had been ready to offer a deal for five-years and also that Italian giants, such as AC Milan, had been in Helsinki studying Raitala.

In May, 2009, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven, Bayer Leverkusen, AZ Alkmaar and Bordeaux joined the race to sign Raitala.[7][8].

I wouldn't mind taking a gamble as he would come cheap. Considering the interest shown by many clubs and his break in the Finnish NT, he might have credible talent. However, I am not sure if he can be the solution to full-back shortage.

A report on the Irish Independent claims that Chelsea have tabled a bid to bring in Andrea Pirlo from Milan.

The Blues have reportedly placed an offer of €7 million plus Claudio Pizarro to bring the artistic passer to London, but the proposal will not include Michael Mancienne going to the San Siro on loan.

The latest news comes just hours after the Blues declared through their press officer that they have not made any official offers.

The club's chief executive Peter Kenyon came back earlier than expected from the tour of America to work on the deal, as the Rossoneri are reportedly willing to part ways with their playmaker.

There was believed to be a lot of sceptical eyes cast on Carlo Ancelotti, when Pirlo was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Many questions regarding the player's age were reportedly discussed, since Michael Ballack, Deco, as well as Frank Lampard are all well over 30.

However, club owner Roman Abramovich has backed the manager in this decision, even though the Pensioners have a heavy midfield.

Pirlo was one of Ancelotti's first signings when he first arrived in Milan in 2001.

Rumor has it that Pirlo told the Interisti "this was our last derby, good bye" and told our players "goodbye, I wont be at Milanello on monday".....

Other rumors have it that Chelski have formulated another offer; speculated between 18-20 million euros.

Receiving this cash, we would look into buying three players:
1) a centreforward, who seems to be Luis Fabiano who Fuentes believes could be sold for € 15-16mil;
2) a sideback, De Silvestri from Lazio, available for no less that 7mil (fiorentina are offering this much) and we might slide Oddo into the offer;
3) a technically gifted midfielder. Possibly Hernanes, less than €10mil, or Lazio's Ledesma, who we could get on discount with the De Silvestri deal.

----

As much as I love Pirlo, maybe selling him would be best for the team. He isnt the same player he was some years back, and if selling him would mean getting De Silvestri and Luis Fabiano (+ getting rid of Oddo, and getting a substitution for Pirlo), maybe it is worth it?

On another note, the people at Telelombardia's QSVS soccer-show, rated Sneijder at € 13 million. I would recommend our management looks into him, as he is just slightly more expensive than Hernanes and one year older, but more proven in Europe. Maybe we could get a discount with Huntelaar (so no Luis Fabiano then).. but this last paragraph was just my own thoughts, not actual rumors :pp18:

When I think about it, there is something wrong in all these stories ...

We would sell Pirlo for 20M and use that cash to buy, like Gio-Mania said, 3 players, more certainly Fabiano or Huntelaar (let's say 20M), Hernanes (let's say 20M too) and a LB ?!

What is the reasonment there ??

We don't have money to buy a 20M player, and by selling one of our players 20M, we suddenly would have 40M to spend ?? I need to know how Milan could do that to do it with my own money !!

id rather take sneijder and huntelaar, reason for sneijder is a attacking midfielder to help r80 and huntelaar is over 6'1" and is younger and i think injury free i dont want fabiano because hes 28 and over priced, i hope pirlo goes for 20-25 million my lowest would be 18 and that's it, i dont think theres a possible way to get mancienne on loan with a OPTION TO BUY that would be great and hernanes is under 10 million maybe 8-6 and that would be our final non EU spot cant depend on dzeko being availible next year anything can happen

It is said that Galliani tries to get Huntelaar on loan with an option to buy him ... the problem is that if Real Madrid accepts that, they won't give a discount on the price to pay if we use the option as the loan itself would be a kind of gift.

Anyway, if that works, we could very possibly try to get Luis Fabiano too then ... if we have enough money to then buy the so-called fullback we need (and more probably a midfielder if Pirlo leaves, what I don't hope).

With Luis Fabiano, Huntelaar on loan, Pato, Borriello, Inzaghi and why not Zigoni + Ronaldinho, we could play the 4-3-3 that Leonardo wanted to try at start ... but we need Pirlo or another creative player to play this 4-3-3 formation or we will have only DM in the 3 midfielders ...

Anyway, it's just a thought, and that won't happen I think.

From what I understand we currently have a 15 million budget (which however Berlusconi seemingly might raise by some few million, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport).
By selling Pirlo we get another 18-20 million. So a total of budget of circa 35 million euros.

16-18 would go to buy a striker (Luis Fabiano), less than five for a sideback (De Silvestri-Oddo swap), which leaves us with about 10 to spend on a Pirlo replacement. Hernanes would work (less than 10 mil, not 20), Sneijder might work too especially since Real are closer to Xabi Alonso, and also Ledesma (who doesnt convince me at all) who could be gotten relatively cheaply in if we get him in a combo with De Silvestri. The math does work out.

But the question is: would our team be better as follows:

OUT: Pirlo,Oddo
IN: Luis Fabiano/Huntelaar, De Silvestri, Ledesma/Hernanes/Sneijder?

Our line up would probably be:

------------------- Abbiati (?)
Zambrotta - Nesta - T Silva - De Silvestri
-------- Gattuso ----------- Flamini
-------------------- Sneijder/Hernanes/Sneijder
------------------------------Dinho
----------------Pato
--------------------Huntelar/LuisFabiano

Whether it's called a deficit or not doesn't make a huge difference.

Yes it does. Liverpool is the best example as they may go under if none buy them or they sell some assets. If you have debt then you must pay interest. We are not talking pennies. Last year Liverpool paid some €30M just in interests and that interest rate is only going to go up.

A deficit on the other hand just means that club is run on a loss that is covered by the owner. If this deficit is not covered, then the club goes into debt.

(in truth some clubs run both on a deficit and debt basis)

These clubs are running without being able to sustain themselves. The fact that they all rely on patrons pumping money into the organisation to keep the side competitive isn't good business practice, it's not even adequate.

I know it isn't good business practice, but that doesn't mean the club will go under. If the owner leaves, then they must sell.Being debt free is important. We currently don't invest because Berlusconi is no longer interested in covering our deificit. (which we had due to bad management IMO)

The reason football is in the state it's in now, with stupidly inflated market values is because these owners (Berlu included) have spent without thinking of the health of the organisation, which is more than just success on the field.

i have a lot of complaints about Berlusconi, but spending without thinking is not among them. If anything how Galliani gave stupid contracts and made some bad transfers... that was spending without thinking. Berlusconi just spend a fraction of his wealth to create a great team. He knew very well what he did.

Is is the same for these arab guys. ManC is a toy for them, a expensive toy. It is not a business.

I agree that it is a good practice to keep finances healthy. and I sure as hell agree that we have approaced that poorly. There would have been no need to sell Kaka if we had been doing this earlier.

We sold Kaka to 'help' the team. I can't see anything happening to help the team if Pirlo goes. If they want to do something good, then get rid of the deadwood, and sell the club.

What that link is saying is that we would invest the Pirlo cash on an attacker.
Since we would be getting Sneijder on loan (for a negligible fee apart from maybe salary, I guess), he has nothing to do with the Pirlo cash. And Riquelme? I dont know the credibility of that (although his value should be very low).

Pirlo will come for 15-20 million I'd guess... and with the prices for players nowadays that will only give us one player.

Personally I hope we stay away from loans. At most I would accept a loan of maybe Huntelaar, since it seems like next year we are going to splash the cash on Dzeko.

Chelsea have seemingly given Milan two options: 16 million + Pizarro or just cash.. It is unspecified how much "just cash" would be, but Milan would like 18-20 million.

As Inter scour the market to find a midfielder capable of satisfying coach Mourinho’s tactical demands, it seems Real Madrid's Rafael Van Der Vaart has found himself in pole position for a move to the San Siro.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Nerazzurri are considering the option to bring in the former Ajax man on a loan deal, with the option to buy next summer.

Given Real Madrid’s desire to raise €100m, however, it is still unclear whether Florentino Perez would be happy with a deal that would only see some cash arrive in twelve months time.

With the proposed switch due for further developments during the week, it is believed Inter will look to complete their squad as soon as possible, following the failure to convince Aliaksandr Hleb to join them as part of the swap deal between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o.

Given the Dutchman is available at a cut price of €5m, an eventual swoop shouldn’t prove too difficult for president Massimo Moratti, should Inter opt to make the move permanent.

if this is true, should Milan also be interested, i mean 5 mil isnt alot.

Thats low/cheap even for our standards :)

Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko has signed a contract extension with the club, expiring in 2013. This is bad news for AC Milan, who had made an offer for the Bosnian which was rejected by the Bundesliga champions, but who were still harbouring faint hopes of signing the player.

"I am happy to have concluded everything before the start of the league," Dzeko said, as reported by Repubblica.it.

"Now I can concentrate on the team, I can't wait to start again with the Bundesliga and the Champions League."

Milan can now definitely scrap Dzeko from their list of objectives for the attack, which now only consists of Sevilla's Luis Fabiano and Real Madrid's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Dzeko joined Wolfsburg in 2007 from Czech side Teplice, and has scored 34 goals since then for the club, 26 of which came last season, when he helped the Volkswagen-sponsored side to Bundesliga glory.

No mention of a buyout clause and they're keeping him till 2013. Well given his young age, I guess that means we won't be able to get him next season either.

Too bad..... next!

Contract extension are meaningless in today's market. All it does is increase the price of a player that may have been near the end of his contract. Sure this means that he probably does not intend to move this summer but doesn't change the fact that for the right amount of money he can be purchased next year. The problem probably is that Milan don't have that "right amount of money".

i think milan should just say F it, and buy from Madrid, Sneijder, Huntelaar and Van Der Vaart (and maybe drenthe)(no to robben, he is too injury prone). Offer something like 30-35mil for all 3. We would get a pretty good attacking mid field and three players who have already built chemistry with each other. (20 mil froom our budget and 10-15 from the sale of pirlo. If galliani is such good friends with perez, he can make it happen for that price).

Just a few comments.

THere is no mention of Dzeko release clause, thus if he has a good CL season, his price will be more than 25mil.

I only read that Sneijder wants to stay in Real and fight for a place even with Xabi.

VDV, Drenthe, one of Diarra and Gago, Heinze(already sold), Hunter, RVN are players that Real want to sell. NO SNEIJDER.

Dzeko may move but at probably will be for another richer club or a club willing to pay 34 million euros. what contract extension does is increase the amount of power that the club has in negotiations this will ultimately increase the cost of the player. i still think there is a good chance of getting him next season for roughly 25 maybe 27 million euros but it depends on how good his season is and how much wolfsburg achieves.

I like your idea.

I don't think Real will sell them for 35mil for all three. If I am them and there is still no real taker, I would just keep them for another year but won't register them in UCL. That way by Jan, there might be some desperate team who would pay the money that they want for them. Even if there is no team, it is a WC year and those three are main players for Dutch. If they have a great WC, their prices will go up.

Prolific Dzeko still has heart set on Milan move

By Soccernet Staff
July 28, 2009

Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko still has his heart set on a move to AC Milan, even though he is resigned to staying at Wolfsburg this season.

Dzeko

Dzeko in regular pose last season.

The Bosnian striker was a crucial part in Wolfsburg's Bundesliga-winning side last season, scoring 26 goals.

Dzeko's prolific form alerted Milan, but his club refused to let him make the switch to Serie A - much to the forward's disappointment.

"I am 23 years old and I receive an offer from the club I have always dreamed about - it was only honest for me to say I wanted to go there,'' he said.

"I stand by what I said. I was fascinated with this club from when I was a little boy. I don't know why, but AC Milan was always the biggest team in the world for me. I always wanted to go there.''

Despite stating his preference to join the Rossoneri, Dzeko was told that he would be going nowhere and that he should instead concentrate on fulfilling the remaining two years of his contract.

Nevertheless, Dzeko expects the opportunity to join Milan to present itself again next summer.

"You don't always get what you want in life, at least not straight away,'' he told the Welt newspaper. "It was the club's right to say no. That's just the way things are.

"I am not mad with Wolfsburg in any way and am not going to cause any commotion. I am staying here and will try to play even better next year than I have up to now. What happens after that remains to be seen.

"I will always dream [about Milan].''

Although Dzeko would still love the chance to join Milan, he remains focused on Wolfsburg and has not ruled out extending his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

"I am happy in Wolfsburg, so why not?'' he said.

Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh confirmed that talks over a new contract are under way and that he hopes a decision can be taken within a week, which is also Dzeko's desire.

"I want the talks to be concluded before the start of the season so that I can concentrate on the games,'' he added.

if we dont really make anymore signings (wouldnt surprise me) would a 4-2-3-1 make any sense-
---------Abs-----------
Antonini--Nesta--Silva--Zambro
-----Gattuso-----Flamini
--Abate--Pirlo--Dinho--
--------Pato--------

we would have ambro, janku, and strasser to back up the D mids
Seedorf, Di Genaro, Young Guy (Harmony & Nmamdi Odu), Flamini (could play up.) could back up the upper midfield
Inzaghi and Boriello could backup Pato

would that work?

It was done that way so we wouldn't have to pay another 12 million per season on the wages of players like Sneijder or Huntelaar.

the sweeper was mostly phased out of the game in the 80s and early 90s. I know a lot of young teams still use it, especially in leagues where there is spotty officating with regards to the offside rule

Sweeper is no longer in the game b/c the modern day CB is not the old tall slow and strong ones like it used to. Those the modern day CB is actually a hybird of CB and Sweeper of old. At least in the top levels of football.

I guess my biggest problem with Gourcuff leaving is that he is young and talented. That in itself doesnt bother me a ton, but he won Ligue 1 player of the year. another young talented Ligue 1 player, Benzma was sold for 40-45 mil. Gourcuff might not have been worth quite that but i think we could have easily made 10-15 mil more on his sale, which could have helped us quite a bit this transfer season.

Honostly I have a feeling that perhaps our slow mercato is actually down to the whole situation at Real Madrid.

They have a HUGE squad with alot of really good players in the same positions and they really do need to unload them. It's obvious that having superstars like Sneijder, Van Der Vaart, Huntelaar, Van Nistelrooy and maybe Higuain sitting on the bench will, first of all, create a really bad dressing room atmosphear and second of all obviously cost a hell of a lot in wages. Basicly Real Madrid NEED to sell most of these players this summer, and so far they've been just as bad at selling players that we have been buying players.

I think that if we come to the end of August, and Real Madrid still haven't found buyers for most of their players, then they'll definetly be willing to let their players go on loan deals, and cut-prices, and we all know that Galliani loves stuff like that.

And about the players, it is indeed a World Cup year which means that those players would be alot more interested in joining us than if it wouldn't, because even someone like Sneijder may face the bench for Holland if he goes a whole season without playing.

The sweeper role actually moved from behind the def to in front of it in the last few seasons.

If you watch alot of teams play, one CB will mark, and the other will cover. It's how Milan are playing with Nesta & Silva alot. Nesta covers, Silva marks mainly, but has switched a few times.

Whereas when Onyewu, Favalli, & Kaladze play the roles become see no play, hear no player, what's offside.

VDV, Drenthe, RVN, Hunter and Gago/Diarra are the players that Real really want to offload. And I have a feeling RB will take VDV in the Xabi deal.
HUnter and Drenthe will most likely end up at Arsenal depending on the price.

Milan is not the only club that short of players. Heck, I bet that ManCity will also end up with a player or two from Real. I would not bet too much on Milan getting all the discount price players from Real. I will be happy with just one(not RVN).

The players and the game is completely different from the time of Sweeper to now.
Back then Sweeper was very important b/c CB were big, strong and slow. It was the job of the sweeper to cover spaces.
But now the game forced the CB to be quick, and strong. On top of that, CBs are usually push up to press.

I just think the game had changed alot. Look at the Dutch's TOTAL FOOTBALL, all top teams play like that now b/c the players are more athletic.

So today's news so far has been:

- Chelsea's 7m + Pizarro offer for Pirlo (and Galliani saying that the offer is not good enough meaning that pirlo is leaving for sure)
- Dzeko officially renewing his contract (a day after they sign Martins?) and saying he wants to have a great season with them
- Riquelme is the latest name for the post-Pirlo era. I highly doubt this is true but Riquelme is not the same player any more, in the past year his performances have declined.

Personally I dont know who to wish for any more in the market...it's getting too late for many players. I guess I'd take Robben and Sneijder.

Another sad day of news in the transfer market IMO....30 days left in the market.

Yes, but let's look at Chelsea who you described as running on a deficit. The last time I heard about them (and it was big news here in the UK), they're covered by Abramovich, but that is viewed as essentially a debt to the owner (maybe without interest, but at something like Ł500m it's a considerable amount). If Abramovich wishes to then turn around and retrieve his money, who's to stop him?

I know it isn't good business practice, but that doesn't mean the club will go under. If the owner leaves, then they must sell.Being debt free is important. We currently don't invest because Berlusconi is no longer interested in covering our deificit. (which we had due to bad management IMO)

I pretty much agree there.

i have a lot of complaints about Berlusconi, but spending without thinking is not among them.

Berlu knew very well what he did when he spent on Milan, but my point was he didn't ever run the club as a business (thus think of the club's financial health itself). What Perez, Abramovich and the Sheiks are doing now isn't too different to Berlu in the late 80s early 90s.

I agree that it is a good practice to keep finances healthy. and I sure as hell agree that we have approaced that poorly. There would have been no need to sell Kaka if we had been doing this earlier.

Nothing to disagree with there.

So that means we will have to pay about 10 million. Sportmediaset (http://www.sportmediaset.it/mercato/articoli/articolo25511.shtml) say Oddo could be inserted into the deal, thus lowering it....

So today we shoould supposedly be seeing a Pirlo sale.....

Real Madrid Giving AC Milan Preference Over Huntelaar Deal

Any clubs wanting to sign 'The Hunter' will have to wait until the Rossoneri have made their move...

According to AS, Los Merengues are waiting for Milan to make a bid, before they consider any other offers.

Meanwhile, according to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Fenerbahce have a €15 million bid on the table for Huntelaar, with a salary of around €4m per year.

However, it seems as though they will have to wait for Milan to make their move, as Madrid appear keen to sell to the Rossoneri.

They've sold many of their players to Inter in the past, so I dont see why they wouldnt sell to us.

But I agree that we wont get him cheap. This guy is worth well over 15-20 million. Probably something like 30+ million.

If we do go for him, we'd be spending all of our current cash plus almost all of our "Pirlo-cash". That would leave like less than 5 million for our other two important reinforcements.

To be honest, even with Xabi, I still think Sneijder will choose to stay at Real.

I don't know where you're getting all this stuff from. The only fact is that Real Madrid have had two months to offload their players and they haven't offloaded a single one of the dead weights. Arsenal and Manchester City might be interested in some of their players, but they know as well as Galliani that the later it gets in the mercato, the more negotiation leverage they will have, afterall, there are very few clubs willing (and able) to spend the kind of money, especially on wages, that these players are worth.

They've sold many of their players to Inter in the past, so I dont see why they wouldnt sell to us.

We have argued the Gorky transfer a lot but we couldn't have got a dime more for him because Bordeaux paied his release clause.

Just a note, I was having dinner with a friend(Pool's fan) of mine last night and we talked about football. He asked me whats wrong with Milan...I just told him Milan has no money, and to think that they are holding their money till Aug 31 is really a HUGE hope. Then we talked about the so call deadweights of Real's players, in which if Senijder, VDV, Hunter, RVN, Robben, Gago, Diarra and Drenthe would probably make the starting lineup in a lot of teams, esp Pool and Milan.
The thing that interested me the most, as he stated teams in England, as he is really on top of EPL news(mainly b/c he is sports writer in HK) are all waiting for Real's players as Arsenal has about 41mil extra to spend on players(thanks to ManCity), Pool will most likely has 45-50mil after the Xabi and Areola sale. ManU had spent like nothing since CR7, and they will at least have 25mil(money for Tevez) still to spend. Then there is INter with 45mil to spend from Barcelona. Ofcourse I said that Milan will probably have 35mil to spend as Pirlo will most likely be gone for 20mil and they still have 15mil from the Dental deal earlier.
I think it will be interesting to see how it going to end, but I am pretty sure that once one of the players at Real is gone, it will be a domino effect.

Nobody expected Gourcuff to do all that you mentioned last year.
It also showed that he is indeed very talented but just showed it at the wrong time(for Milan wise).

Having said that, I do believe that Galli wanted to offload him for 15mil ever since he started playing for France. As Galli or anyone, according to Gourcuff never called or emailed him during the whole season.

I read on some newspaper (cannot remember which, albeit) that Real Madrid are aiming to take in about 100 million euros from selling their deadweights.

The want to offload about 7 players ( Sneijder, VDV, Huntelaar, RVN, Robben, Gago, Diarra and Drenthe)... so thats more or less 14-15 million per player-- obviously some will sell for more and some for less... sounds quite reasonable.

But the further we wait to buy, the lower these prices will get, so maybe we might even steal Sneijder and Huntelaar for 25 million....

Tevez is owned by a private company so any cash from his sale went to the company who owed not man united. I wouldn't be too sure about liverpool they seem keen to get aquilani and silva with cash receive from selling alonso also i would be surprised if they spend any more after all they are in 320 million pounds worth of debt. as for manchester united i think they are after silva and maybe villa in addition douglas costa so i would expect that they would also be far removed from buying real players. as for arsenal now i would reckon that they will go after huntelaar or gago maybe even higuain and also have targets to get drethe/ meltzelder. Inter milan are also in debt to the sum of 250 million euros but knowing how they chuck cash at the transfer market i would expect one bid from them for van der vaart maybe even robben.

the issue is that clubs keep making low bids for real players until that situation changes or real decided to have a sale on the dutch contingent i can't a domino affect happening. Milan wouldn't have to worry about making huge bid i am sure if we made a 22 million euro offer for huntelaar he would be a milan player for sure.

That is assuming that we're going to be the only ones bidding for them.

Given there are 7 players being offloaded and, judging from Gabriel's list, at least 5 clubs that will have more money than we do to buy the same players, whats there to stop this from becoming a bidding match where in the end we'll lose out because we can't top the other team's bids?

You say RM are trying to recoup 100 Mil, so whats stopping Sneijder from going to Liverpool for 18 Mil and Huntelaar to Arsenal for 12 Mil instead? They'd get more money, offload their players, AND gain the goodwill of more clubs than just poor little Milan :P

we should make a 16 mil offer for Huntelaar, we can up that 1-1.5 mil or so if its needed.
then we spend 5-10 mil + Oddo to Lazio for De Selvestri. that would be an amazing deal, because we can dump Oddo, and get on of the most talented young WBs in Italy. Then we just slide Zambro over to the left side, and our defense is set.

2 great transfers for 21-27 mil and we dump Oddo. that would be great

GeoTav

Actually, Bosingwa is a RB who can play as a LB if needed.
Chelsea have Ashley Cole as LB and Zirkhov who can play there, they have Paulo Ferreira as RB after Bosingwa. Ivanovic can play as a RB if I'm not wrong. They also have Belletti.

If needed, Essien can also play as a RB if there is an injury-crisis (a bit like Flamini).

So losing Bosingwa shouldn't be a major issue for Chelsea as he isn't a WC player, he is a very good one, but Paulo Ferreira can as well do his work too.

I think Ancelotti will try to have a very strong midfield (Chelsea have a lot of players in midfield) and in defence, he prefers to have players who know how to defend instead of players who will attack.

Anyway, I don't see them giving this player.

dude please don't be biased. if you remember at the end of last season there were a poll in milano and mostly 89% agreed on selling pirlo. this guy is no longer useful for milan and after the confideration cup there were talk about him losing his place in italian national team... his Salary is 6 mil net (12 with taxes). unlike the players like seedorf kala there is a demand on pirlo so why not sell him when you can or you have to stick with him and pay him until the end of his contract and he will ask for contract extension. thats pure financial analysis.

on the other side pirlo is no longer pirlo. he is still a good player but he is no longer the player that milan needs. he often loses the ball which leads to a counter attack and goals. we need to change our style of play so pirlo sale is a must. we need 3 midfielders not a midfielder and 2 guards.

Hernanes Dreams Of Playing For AC Milan - Agent
The player dreams of playing for the Milanese giants, says his agent...
2 Aug 2009 21:59:42

With AC Milan star Andrea Pirlo constantly being linked with a move to Chelsea, Sao Paulo midfielder Hernanes has been touted as a possible replacement.

However, the Brazilian's agent, Federico Pena, has stated that the Rossoneri have not made a move for his client.

"Officially, no representative of Milan has spoken to us, but Milan is a dream for him" he explained to Sky Sport on Sunday.

"His value can only be decided by Sao Paulo, but I think €13-14 million. Barcelona tried last year, however, at that time Sao Paulo had no intention of selling."

The player's representative also indicated that other Serie A sides have previously shown interest in the 24-year-old.

"There were also discussions about Juventus before they bought [Felipe] Melo
and also from Inter."

ok, i am a bit biased, but i totally accept that Pirlo isnt the player he once was. Losing his spot on the Italian team would be interesting, because he seemed to be Italy's second? best player after Rossi. Ronaldinho however HAS lost his spot on the Brazil team for now.
my problem with Dinho is that he is lazy as all hell, and really doesnt seem to care. he knew that he was going to be Milan's star this upcoming season. i was cool with the Kaka sale cause i thought Dinho would be a more than adiquate replacement. despite all of the pressure on him to be the player he has the talent to be, Ronaldinho showed up to preseason overweight and out of shape.
in the games so far, he has had two or three games where he has played pretty well, and others where he has been horrible. in all of them he has lacked speed and in some his passing has been horribly off. and that really doesnt seem to bother him too much. that is a problem. if we put all of our hope in him this upcoming season, we will be disappointed.
if a good sale offer for Pirlo comes in, we kinda have to take it. I know that and i accept it. however, what he has done for Milan is far far greater than what Dinho has done. There are many players on the team that would do anything for him and have been through thick and this with him. players like Gattuso, Nesta, Ambro, Zambro, Inzaghi, and Seedorf. Those guys are still the core of this team, and selling him would affect morale on the team. he is still a good player, just not a great one. I would buy Hernandes this year and rotate them and give Hernandes the spot for good when and if he proves he is better.
Dinho seems to lack the drive to improve himself from where he currently is. he seems like he would rather spend his time partying than becoming the player he would need to be for us. if we could sell him and buy G. Rossi, he could play the same position and add so much pace and a fire to win. he isnt as talented, but no one is. he would add much more to the team though

Hilarious....despite what is happening Berlusconi is still saying the same old crap. Even if we end up getting relegated, he'll probably still come out and say that we're the best club in the world, and if we only got 30 more points, we'd be champions of Italy.

actually, some posters have become so discouraged and have posted much fewer already. i have noticed that this thread only gains a few pages these days, unlike the amazing number of 20 pages a few weeks back. at this rate, it would be even more shameful if we would still have no major signing when it hits 10,000 posts. :lala:

I don't see Chelsea offering Bosingwa and 18 million either. If it happens, I would take it. Not that I don't want to keep Pirlo, but I don't see us keeping him. I would hate to see Pirlo leave for something like 5 million, but that might as well happen as the management seem to want to get rid of him desparately. I don't know what Berlusconi and Galliani have been smoking recently, but looks to me, they are trying to get rid of everyone that is useful and keep everyone that is useless.

Di silvestri is probably as hot as Santacroce, he was rated in the top 10 talents in the world last year. offcourse he is off standard right now but this young man has alot to learn and alot to offer as well. so i say we take him because he is the natural replacement for zambrotta in the NT

I remember when being asked about his first season in Italy, Pato said that the match was more physical, and he openly said that Ledesma chose to kick him and tried to provoke him the whole match. Considering that, I don't think we'll after Ledesma. After all, IMO he's not the quality player we need

What I find interesting over the past days is the fact that none of you are calling Pirlo a traitor or a sell out, and a lot of you are stating that Pirlo is the reason why Milan's tactic is very static. Although I agree with that, but I still find it strange how some of you still call Kaka is a traitor or a sell out and that the team was relying on him too much for the others to actually perform.

Personally, I just think Milan wants to sell anyone who is still worth something in the market. Yes, they manage to keep Flamini and Pato for now but I won't be surprise at all if those two leave next summer after the WC.

Has Pirlo ever asked for his contract to be reviewed? How many times was Kaka's contract revised (ie how many times has his salary been increased)?

Kaka left Milan because we could no longer pay him what Real or Man City offered to pay him. If he chose to stay, he's still be here.

To me, I think he is abit overrated as he has not really done much. In a way, he just reminds me of all those young IT defenders coming up, always claims to have great potential but only 1/50 of them can actually reach that level. Just look at Bonera, Baragzi, Legro, Zaccardo, Moretti......

Zarate is probably the only one I would take from Lazio, if there is a choice.

Yes, of course agents are going to ask for more money for their clients--that's their job. But I repeat my question: How many times has Pirlo's contract been revised, and how many times has Kaka's?

My personal suspicion is that Kaka's dad shops him around (esp to Real Madrid) every summer and then comes back to Milan with the best salary offer he can get. Then we're forced to match it, or else his son will ask to leave. How else can you explain all those ridiculous flirtations with Real Madrid while he was under contract with us.

From memory none of this happened with Pirlo. I dont think it's fair to compare the two.

He wasn't a starter last season because he fell out with the coach, not because he 's not good enough

He is a 25 year old that is still considered a "talent". He is considered that since he can sometimes do some great things, but mostly does not help the team. There is a reason no big team have gone for him.

I am not that into economics, but I guess what you are saying is that Roman could possibly take out a loan that he puts on Chelsea to take back money he invested and with that putting the club in the same situation as ManU and Liverpool. It probably won't happen, if he gets tired he will sell the club. Now they at least don't have to pay any interest. Clearly the lack of money they invested now the last years is a sign he won't pump in as much, not strange considering how much he lost of his fortune.

I didn't really watch Lazio too many times last season. Is Di Silvestri as good as everyone says he is? I was also wondering if it would make sense for Milan to just make a triple bid for Ledesma, Di Silvestri and Pandev for Oddo + Cash.

Don't listen to everyone praising him as the saviour. He was in fact not a starter for the whole of last season. He's got great athletism and a good offense, but the reason he was benched was because he couldn't defend well. Clearly more exciting than Oddo though, whom can't defend nor attack.

So? It's the players intention that matters. Did Maldini ever come to Milan asking for a salary increase because Man Utd were offering so much? Did Gattuso ever come asking for his salary to be equal to what Bayern were willing to pay him?

Remember what the Man City intermediaries said about Kaka's dad---all he asked about was money, how much they were going to pay his son---that's it. And if Milan really wanted to push his transfer, we'd have forced him to leave for Man City. Instead, we left it up to him. And when he didn't go and pledged his love for the club, we were all fooled....until of course Real Madrid came calling. In my book, both Sheva and Kaka were traitors----but then again, it's a matter of opinion.

Hey guys, haven't posted for a while due to an electricity blackout at my place lol! Hope you have all been good.....

As for Pirlo, it would not seem plausible to sell him and get money plus Pizarro, then use that to trade for Fabiano! I am sure we have the cash already to buy Fabiano, and perhaps pay extra on a performance deal next season...... Sevilla is in a selling mood and will crumble at 18 million plus some incentive! Can't believe Hernanes hasn't arrived either, regardless of whether Pirlo leaves or not. Considering how other clubs have been notching prices up for us, Pirlo's asking price seems very low.....

Also, dissapointed to see Berlu come out once again and claim we are still the best, whilst acting very naive about our lack of transfers.....

Milan Eye Roma Striker Julio Baptista As Luis Fabiano Alternative – Report
The Rossoneri are keen on the Brazilian hitman if their second attempt at Luis Fabiano Fails...
3 Aug 2009 09:26:51

Milan have turned their attention to Roma striker Julio Baptista, who they see as an alternative to Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.

The Rossoneri's striker search is still ongoing. Reports in Italy and Spain claim Ernesto Bronzetti has been sent to Seville for one final attempt at the 2009 Confederations Cup top scorer. However, if that fails, Baptista will be the next target.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the former Real Madrid man is being targeted by Milan. The San Siro-based giants have already made contact over his availability, but no official offer has been made.

'The Beast' represents a more affordable option for Milan than Luis Fabiano, with voices around Trigoria claiming that he could join them for around €9 million, which is around half of what Sevilla are asking for Fabiano. However, Baptista has claimed he is in no mood to leave Roma, a statement backed up by his agent on Saturday.

On the other hand, the capital club are willing to cash in on him and are open to offers. As part of a possible deal, Milan will offer money plus the services of highly-rated midfielder Ignazio Abate.

The thought of that is just absolutely orgasmic. He is incredible. He is the best striker out there, and yes he is better than Milito. Don't forget there is also Aguero who is a great player lurking out there. Both of these players are under 23 and both are going to be really expensive.

If I have a choice, I would have say no to both of them.
Not saying they are not talented but just not the right type for Milan at the moment.

Fabaino will score goals but he is bascially an older version of Pato. While Hunter is the Dutch version of Gila.

Both of them will score but they need a very strong midfield supplying balls to them, in Hunter's case-wingers.

Personally, I think Milan should stick with playing counter-attacking football next year. And set Pato, Borreillo and Abate free upfront. With a midfield of Flamini-Gattuso and Janku. NO need for creative players(like Dinho) as the rest of the team just aint good enough to play possession football.

Thus the lineup will be:

Abbaitti
Antonini-T. Silva-Nesta-Zambro
------Flamini-Gattuso-Janku
Abate-----

There is only one thing I can do, I think Milan should sign Toni or Veiri as target men, as both men are cheap, available, Italian whom stated they love MIlan, and WERE ONCE UNDER 23 yrs old.:1ole:

Pretty much yes to both paragraphs.

About Di Silvestri, he's no way a saviour of any kind to us, but he does have the potential to be great. However, I read someone say he's like Santacroce (in terms of where he is and could be), which I totally disagree with. Santacroce, Bochetti, Santon, Motta, all these guys are developing much faster than Di Silvestri at this point and are all on the verge of breaking through, unlike Di Silvestri. I really want us to test Albertazzi more personally. Given Santon was his understudy at youth levels there must be some potential there and more than anything I want to see what he's actually capable of.

Yes, only if Milan plays a running game than a possession controlling game like they do over the past decade.

As Abate, DiGennaro, Pato, and Borreillo are all players with speed and dribbling skills(not to the level of Messi but good enough).
Then you still have Pippo to fill in the Center striker role here and there.

Also with a midfield of Flamini, Gattuso, Janku, Ambro, Cardacio and even Strussur. They might not be creative like Pirlo, Dinho or Seedorf, but they run and is willing to run. On top of that Janku and Flamini are players who have a good shot from 30 yards out, they just don't shoot it enough.

To be honest, a dream summer mercato would be to buy hernanes (he has a cheap tag this season, but seeing hhim play in previous season gives me the guarentee that his tag will double by the end of next season) anyways, hernanes, huntelaar because honestly real madrid sort of do owe us a favor, plus he has no place in that team. Instead of stacking up the midfield with all these different prospects i say we buy hernanes and since were taking him in at a cheap price i say we also go for sneijder since we were in some sort of contact with him previiously, anyways another cb incase anything happens to nesta and A GK.
So, hernanes, huntelaar, sneijder, a cb and a gk. Definitely put is into a competitive level again, but then i woke up from my dream. lets face it this isnt the year to buy just be content with one or two of those players and let life go on, nexxt season hope for the better!

Hey, people have differences of opinion. You were the one who kept asking again and again, whether people consider Pirlo a traitor and why not. Why ask when you know what answer you will get.

We can have differences of opinion, but we're all Milan fans all the same! : )

man no one is called traitor here. its something you need to know. when you have a superstar and he leaves there will be reactions. but let us get back to the issue. football is like any other business and people move where they feel they can progress in their careers and make more money as well. never tell me maldini baresi or anybody else. when you consider the salary of maldini you will see that no 40 years old player in history of football was making money like maldini. just put loyality aside. football is not a hobby for players its a career.
come if maldini were playing for lecce would he survive 25 years?
same goes for del piero, totti, raul .... etc there is no such thing called loyality and love for the club. as long as you are making him satisfied as long as he loves you. kaka's case is pure financial 9 mil + 1 for digao 2 houses and 3 cars and tickets to brasil. that was his contract.
Same goes for pirlo, gattuso, ambrosini and any player.
