View Full Version : Summer mercato 2009
Summer mercato is here again!!! :) It was time to close the "winter mercato" and relax in the warmer atmosphere, as every summer.
So we have lived through another winter mercato: Ricky stayed in an epic drama, we bought Mattioni and Thiago...
Now its time we make another 5000 pages about almost nothing, start milion fights and change the coach once and for all :ilol::ilol: Madrid will ask for Kaka' and they'll offer 120mln, we'll be on a verge of signing Mexes or Cannavaro... most likely we'll end up with one or two free and old players. Merda will go for Drogba, Mourinho will ask for 600mln for transfers from Moratti, then he'll get fired :swars: People will beg for $heva to leave and for Maldini to stay :) It will be fun.
In the end, I hope we'll all start the summer mercato as scudetto winners :5inter:
And that we can all have fun in fair play and with creative discussions and ideas from our old and possibly new members.
Forza Galliani and Berlusconi!! :rone:
Way too early for this thread. Can we lock it till March at least?

Lets start now, whats the point of locking it till March.
To be honest, I have a strong feeling, Drogba will come to Milan instead of Inter, first of he is over 30, reached his peak, and will be cheaper than his price as Chelsea will want to offload him to us instead of Inter.

What's the point in doing that?
The winter transfer window closed on monday, so actually this thread should have been created earlier if anything.
Well i gotta say Mrki, you've painted a pretty picture.. lets hope it lives up to it.
hope we can land Zarate in the summer, and send sheva to dinamo kyiev or whatever,Zarate Pato and Kaka behind them will be the deadliest forward line in the universe,we allready have Thiago Silva and with Nesta healthy(wich i hope he will be),all we need is a left full back, maybe Taiwo from Marseille what do u guyz think of him,i think he is good an young also 23,i think he would be good investment!
It is weird, but I'm satisfy with the current team ^^
So, do you think Daniel Agger will remain a target for the summer? It seems he's no closer to resolving his contract issues with Liverpool. And I suppose that unless Borriello and Shevchenko step up their games in the second half (which would be wonderful) Milan will look for another striker in the summer.

Bring Gorky First!!!
First, sack Carlo. Then we can talk about transfer. :D
if Mattioni fulfills at least half of the expectations (the new maicon), then we probably won't need another defender.. well unless Agger comes really cheap you know :p1511:
as for Gourcuff, if we wanna get him, we should start as soon as may, cuz given how slow and immobile he is, it will take lots of time to get him here before the season starts :funpc:
New keeper to back up abbiati, and get rid of dida, kalac

AT least he is faster than seedorf, pirlo, ambrosini and beckham combined together, i mean how can this moron anchelotti compare gourcuff to kaka's pace only few in the world can be as fast as kaka thats so fLame... OPSS my bad i mean lame
I asked fLame aka Carlo_Ancelotti publicly and via PM to be a bit more mindful when posting and not revert to personal references, I am asking everybody else to do the same well please :)
Actually, Ancelotti replied to a question when he said that Gourcuff was too slow ... etc to replace Kaka', and the question was "if Kaka' goes to Man City, can Gourcuff replace him ?".
That doesn't mean that Gourcuff is not good enough for Milan or anything else, that just means that he doesn't think that Gourcuff can play the role that Kaka' plays for us nowadays ...
But anyway, it was a very weird way to tell it ... it's in these kind of comments that we see that Mourinho is 10 times better than Ancelotti ... in terms of communication with medias.
Eheh, I won't say that Mourinho is a better coach than Ancelotti, what I think some of you thought I would say in the previous sentence, because I don't think so !! ^^
PS: Mrki, you stole my idea of creating this topic !! :dconf: The war is declared !!

Gourcuff is faster than Seedorf and I think it'll all that is required.
Gourcuff is not faster than Seedorf. Seedorf is much quicker.
Seedorf hogs the ball, but it takes quite a leap to suggest Gourcuff is faster than Seedorf.
In fact, I think Seedorf is one of the fastest sprinters on our team, if I am not mistaken (I think this was confirmed by the training staff).
Seedorf's strengh (IMO) is not that he's fast, is that he's always close to the player with the ball so he is excellent support to keep possesion... he can keep it, turn around with it many times, and move forward with it, or just give it to Kaka' or Pato and let them run as he tries to follow the play...
And he may not seem to run much, but he does... pay attention and he's always on the same "screen" where the ball is... in defense or offense...
Gourcuff may be more talented, but he still gets lost, and doesn't become part of the game... he has improved a lot, but I'm sure Milan (not just Ancelotti) wonders if he can do all that he does in Bourdeaux and France NT once he was inserted in Milan's midfield again.
^^ That's actually not true...Gourcuff touches the ball on EVERY play that France or Bordeaux orchestrate. He's the one switching the ball from flank to flank...he's the one trying the long shot from distance if no one is open. I agree he's not perfect and still lacks a little more composure and calmness in his play...but that can easily be worked on..
AT least he is faster than seedorf, pirlo, ambrosini and beckham combined together, i mean how can this moron anchelotti compare gourcuff to kaka's pace only few in the world can be as fast as kaka thats so fLame... OPSS my bad i mean lame

that joke with my nickname is priceless.. i mean, who else had an imagination to interpret "fLame" the way you did?
I agree that Gourcuff's speed on the ball and his ability is far better than Gourcuff's = it's world class
Wheres the love peeps?

Bannanas and coffee, dont have to be together lol
Gourcuff may be more talented, but he still gets lost, and doesn't become part of the game... .
I am sorry Sant but I dont agree with both of these statemants :diablo: Sorry.
Firstly, Seedorf is more talented player then Gourcuff. You all have to remember what Seedorf was able to do 10 years ago, and what positions Seedorf played before he become an aM in Milan in past few years, and how did he interpret it.
His career at highest levels started with 16/17 years of age, now he is 33. He is a worn out palyer and there fore I was happy to see Dinho joined Milan as I thought Clarence will be used in smaller ammounts with quality and not quantity.
Technically he is also one of the most gufted players in the world, and his possesion is better then Pirlo's, which is something that is not easy to do.
But now Seedorf has readhed a moment where he cant play 5 good games in a row, not becouse he lacks talent, but becouse he lacks fitness levels needed for that. He is slower on his dribbling, and he is late for his open shots... he cant interpret CM role as he could do before.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Yoan, in my oppinion, isnt a player that gets lost during the game. Aldough that is a caracteristics of all young players. Even Kaka' used to get lost in the begginings of him Milan days.
What Gourcuff has now is the movement that Seedorf lacks. He has brains in his movement, its not just about running around, My role for his would be LCM role, next to Pirlo, like Beckham plays now on the right.
Gourcuff has an extraordinary long pass, shot and the ability to finish the plays by playing inside the boy, which Seedorf doesnt do. He also now plays simpler then Clarence as he can move better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
To conclude, I dont think that Gourcuff is more talented player then Seedorf ( remember when and how Seedorf started playing at highest levels), but I think that for Milan the best solutionis to let Yoan play constantly, as he can give us a lot, both technically and also tactically.
-----------------------------------------------------------
But as it seems Dinho is on his way to parties again, we could see both Yoan and Seedorf in Milan next year :grinser:

THe thing with Seedorf is that, not that he is not talented or not fast enough...but it is his will to play the game anymore. Thats something that I had been talking about over the year. Seedorf and others seem to lose the will to win at time and I think thats the reason why Seedorf played like crap against small teams but is briallant against big teams

I think that's a good post about Gourcuff mrki. I certainly agree that Gourcuff's strength for the side would be his movement off the ball. He is very intelligent when he runs.
Seedorf is incredibly strong on the ball, few can get it off him when in possession. However, I definitely think Gourcuff is capable of this and he doesn't lose the ball easily either.
Likewise we're comparing ability of the two players. Personally, I think Seedorf is one of the most technically brilliant players in the world, as we've seen him do some incredible things with the ball. However, Gourcuff is technically brilliant too. Some of the things he's done this season are outstanding, and therefore I don't think it's necessary to compare technical ability between the two, because Gourcuff's ability has never been in question.
Pace isn't the greatest issue either for me. Seedorf's pace is highly underestimated by many people, he isn't slow. However, he is slow when he's playing on the ball and this is often why he appears slow. Gourcuff's almost the opposite, in that his running speed is quite slow, but he is quick on the ball with what he wants to do. However, what we need to get the best of Kaka and Pato is to have someone who will not only be available off the ball for them, but also someone who can move the ball up the field quickly so that they get the chance to run at opponents before they're organised. Both Seedorf and Gourcuff at times have the tendency to hold the ball a little too much, so whoever we play (or even if we play both) must adjust their game in this respect to get the best of their teammates.
Finally, tactically both Seedorf and Gourcuff seem ok. Gourcuff has shown tactical maturity in a Milan shirt on occasions (he needs to do it more consistently), while Seedorf is very mature in his tactical game. However, Gourcuff has time to develop his tactical sense while it would be expected of Seedorf.
For me, Gourcuff has a lot to offer the side. If he can learn to distribute the ball quickly and be tactically disciplined (though not to the point that it affects his creativity), then we will see one of the best additions to the side we can hope for. He and Seedorf are similar in many respects and so I feel Gourcuff can interpret many of the roles Seedorf has in his career.
Yes, Seedorf's pace is underestimated, but its becouse he decides to sprint two times is a game. Its becouse he is not at top fitness levels anymore. Seedorf needs to be fresh.
When we won CL last time, for big games like Bayern away, both United games...Milan rested Seedorf 2-3 games before it, and gave him speciall training regime so he could be fresh. Later on Seedorf played brilliantly in those games. So its about his fitness, he is a player that is worn out in certain way.
Yoan can control the tempo and passing rate in midfield, its enough. Boban wasnt fast, Pirlo is not fast, Prosinecki played for Barcelona and Madrid and was one of the best creators in the game and he could barely run...
Yoan has a first step that can beat the player, and then he has the space for the mvoe: pass, shot, cross. Its important enough.

Gorky, Gorky, Gorky, if I am not mistaken he is not our player any more because of that 15 m clause in his contract so it the player who has the last word whether or not return back to Italy, and to be honest if I were him I would never think of playing for Milan any more, so please lets look for some one else.
Unless we sell or lose someone, I don't see the need in buying anyone. We already replaced Maldini with Thiago. We have a huge squad as it is, 30 players. We don't need additions, we need replacements. So the first question is this; Who do we kick out?
Sheva.
Emerson.
Dida.
Ambrosini?
I would kick Ambro anytime, but he's our vice-capitan. He'll be here for life.
For the rest, I agree.
If Beckham stays, which I hope he does, I think that final pure defensive midfield spot would be a battle between Flamini and Gattuso. It won't even be on the left side anymore, it would be central, with Beckham on the right and Pirlo drifting left. That way, the cross field passes would come from far left and far right to the full backs sneaking in the other side.
What is the perfect number for a side that's competing in the CL? 28? Did Carlo ever mention a squad number that he likes?
Hasan Rossonero

You guys would kick out Ambrosini? Wow. He is immense in almost every game for us, bossing the midfield and distributing better than Matthieu "I was born to tackle shins" Flamin or even Gattuso on his best day.
Seedorf, Dida, Favalli (despite being useful he is a sprightly 37 or so), Shevchenko and Emerson (please, I will book his ticket) should all go.

After last night's game, i think we need a new coach who plays with 2 strikers.
We didn't play bad last night,we orgnized very well actually, last night's game is one of the best this season on the aspect of tactics and intensity continuation;but we definitely lack penalty area existence.
Take a look at inter's lineups, they got ibra, cruz, crespo, adriano, ballotelli, all power centers.that's why they always overcome compact defence.
After last night's game, i think we need a new coach who plays with 2 strikers.
did you watch the game?
p.s. we don't really have 2 strikers to start the match. Inzaghi? - he can't play a full match anymore. Sheva? - not fit, maybe he will never be again. Borriello? - injured

I just love it when people defend Carlo likes that. How do you know Sheva or Pippo cannot last a match?
Everyone knew what Reggina will do and yet Carlo did nothing from the start.
If he started with Pippo and Pato with Dinho and Kaka behind them,Iam pretty sure the outcome will be different.
As for tactics, it was more due to having players that can pull it off then anything else. And yet, do you notice any focal point in our attack last game? I certainly did not and I am pretty sure a lot of people here would say the same. To me it was a great game to watch, b/c it was first Dinho, Pato, Beckham, Zambro and Kaka all had a time that made me jumped off my seat, but they were too individual instead of playing as a unit.
I know some of you might think Carlo is god....but to me he is not a good coach and was lucky to have players that did win for him. What he is good at is kissing Berlu and Galli asses and doing whatever they tell him.

LOLOLLLOLOLOLOL!!!! :guw:
Judging by the last two seasons or so there is a lot of blame to go around and surely Carlo has his share. Lineup choices ala Trap, which Ancelotti has used sometimes, are no way to win against defense packed teams that need a lucky counter or two. Depending on how Bori progresses we need a target man, an overhaul of the defensive side and speedy wide players.
Reza you mentioned Boriello, and Carlo also does sometimes. But Boriello is not a better palyer then Pato. in fact Pato is twice of a player Boriello is. Even though Boriello has a heading advantage.
And when Boriello gets fit, where will he play? In 4-3-2-1? with Pato benched?
Or in 4-3-1-2 with NECCESSARILY Dinho benched, and with Beckham playing well maybe even Seedorf as Pirlo-Seedorf-Beckham cant form midfield trio as they cant defend...?
in any case, I dont agree Boriello will have much impact on our game. We better create some compact plays in training and actually create a strict plan and not just play "pick 'n roll " like they do in NBA.... that is how we play in pasr two years. Im partially joking of course but I think you get it.
With Respact to you Reza, I dont agree boriello is out issue.
Marek and his crosses and passes as a fullback, combined with Ambrosini on the Lm are a different story :)
I am always for a system based on 2 forwards with one made for heading ability because even the most offensive coach/team reverts to crosses and long balls sometimes, its a reality I think. Bori is never going to be at the expense of Pato but some tall target is needed especially if we are to play either with Beckham or use Janku like that. If we get a new way of playing (with or without Carlo) I think the idea of finding space for all (not at same obviously, but you know what I mean) of Beckham, Seedorf, Pirlo, R80, Kaka (and may be even Gourcuff) should be shelved. A proper 4-1-x-x or 4-2-x-x (fitting one or two of Flamini, Rino, Ambro, whoever) is long overdue in my opinion.
Agree,Reza! we should play 4-2-x-x when facing teams like regienna.
when game is on the line and we cann't break packed defence in last 30 minutes, throw in at least 2 power center is a must, that's a bit mouriho-like,but you got to have that feel of urgency .

The thing is that, playing with 1 striker against a pack defense like Regginna is not the answer. B/c even if we have Drogba or Ibra playing with us, i doubt they can score being all alone by themselves. And thats the problem with Milan over the past few years. We had Gila last few yrs and he did not solve our problems against pack defense. I think the key is really to play with two strikers against pack defense and yet Carlo still could not figure that out over the past 5 yrs.
And FLAME, I am not going to start a debate with you as there is no point since you are so in love with Carlo and his GREAT tactics. I can't wait for Carlo to leave Milan and see if you will still be his follower.

i suggest next season will be time to have a new coach ;)
for the players to offload, i think maldini is a certain cuz retirement, loaning players (senderos & sheva) sent back to their owners then favalli, emerson and also dida (considering his high wage aint match up with his contribution) must be sent off
for seedorf, i do think if new coach come to milan seedorf wouldnt get opportunity as much he get these days and probably the carlo successor dont need seedorf in regards of gorky's called back
for beckham, yes he played great so far. though the management so eager to offer permanent contract but imo better for us to invest in other younger players. beckham will be in flopping curve in years to come

this aint the first time we scratch our head thinking how to penetrate into a-9-players defence area.. , this has been repeated over the past 5 yrs (not sure, quoted frm Gabriel489 :devs:)

the solution is to hire a man like mario zagallo to play 4-2-4 then refreshed the old brazil NT in WC 70 :grinser:
Carlo asked for toni and adebayor, but never get any true power center(gila is not heavy enough, boriello is also relative small and injury-plagued).please give him a decent big one(the two I mentiond caliber) and let's sit back and see.

adebayor would be a great addition then playing him with pato upfront and kaka behind them next season. but a thing that could be a problem is kaka late these season became more comfort to play as 2nd striker, not as trequarista like he did in 4-3-1-2 scheme 3 season ago.
so if we have adebayor and coach decide to field him with pato (or another forward), kaka must play the old role to defend down to defense line more than he is used in last 3 seasons.
though carlo played 4-3-2-1 where kaka play along with seedorf/dinho as trequarista, they can manage who run deep down to defense and who stand upper to offense line
Plus the fact that kaka got his player of the year award when carlo fielded him as 2nd striker
Small teams have played bunker football for years at San Siro, with a fairly good record too, yet Carlo & Tassotti who never gets mentioned haven't discovered a way to break them down effiecently.
Tactical question for you all: How do teams attack who bunker in defence?
Peachtot
09-02-2009, 03:21
the easier is you have to have players upfront who can struggle and win the battle in opponent penalty box to score by header
better to have a more physical forward to deal with bunch of defender
Keep play pyhsical inside and air raid their box until they crack.from game against reggina ,we don't lack flank launchers, what we need is someone eats space inside and make pressure on their CD.
for beckham, yes he played great so far. though the management so eager to offer permanent contract but imo better for us to invest in other younger players. beckham will be in flopping curve in years to come

Just tried to teasing you who adored Beckham these days lately. So I made the writting on "Beckham himself" in Italic mode.. which is not literally the real David Beckham.. Got it ? :D :tong:

i got it mam :D
the easier is you have to have players upfront who can struggle and win the battle in opponent penalty box to score by header
better to have a more physical forward to deal with bunch of defender
Keep play pyhsical inside and air raid their box until they crack.from game against reggina ,we don't lack flank launchers, what we need is someone eats space inside and make pressure on their CD.
Good try, but I asked how do the small teams attack us when we're at home?
We attack, and they counter, albeit not all the time, but when they do we need to leave 3/4 players in offensive positions, win the ball high up, and increase the tempo in final 3rd.
Watched Bayern - Dortmund last night, and the 1-2's with Ribery in and around the box makes a mockery of how we play. No invention, no give and go's, no invention.
What was the last big forvard Milan had?? Bierhoff??
Pippo is a classic no.9 but is not huge, Sheva has golden ball striker, but was never a arget man like Toni etc.
its not necessary to have such players, its neccessary that we have quality, the sistems can be changed and the defences can be penetrated. Look at Barcelona.
It is not necessary to sack Ancelotti. It is necessary to strengthen the defence. The problem is not the coach, the problem is the defence which must be more alert in the target situations. This is a problem that can be solved by signing stronger and faster defenders.

This team can win the Champions League. The only difference is Thiago Silva (who based on what little I saw, I hope will be even better than Nesta) and a fit Borriello. The only real transfers I wish to see in the summer are a new left back to free Marek as a LM, and a replacement for Borriello in case the same **** ever happens again. Other than that, we have one the best squads in Europe. I don't know if we really need Gourcuff back. If we sell R80 or Seedorf, which will never happen, then maybe. Otherwise, I don't see him fitting in anywhere.
Some people want a tall target man ... let's buy Koller ? :D
Galliani, if you read that, it's a joke !!

Just some fine tuning for the squad will be fine as long as there is a new coach or Carlo finally learns the lesson of stop playing his fav and start playing in form players.
With T.Silva already signed, recalling Astori and exercising the first option on Canini will be more than enough CB for us.
Another LB would be great.
As for midfield, as long as Beckham stays, Yoann and Abate coming back, it will be more than enough.
Hopefully, Milan will sign two strikers and thats all they really need to compete in all fronts.
As for the players to leave, Emerson is a goner, Kalac contract will expire, Cap will retire, Favalli(I have no objection if he stays or leave as unless there are a huge injury list for CB, Favalli won't get anytime as CB next season, with Nesta, T. Silva, Canini..) Sheva and Sanderous will be return to their clubs, and hopefully Seedorf and Dida will leave.
I really hope that Napoli will struggle and won't be in Europe next year, that way, Milan might actually be able to get Santacroce.
We will need a new LB and a new attacker to replace Shev. That's it. Thiago Silva will be the best signing since Kaka. Yes, better than Pato, methinks; because we need him more.

True guys, we dont really need to sign many players. I hope we'll sign only a few players, but good ones at a good age!
-a defender (Santacroce my favourite, when napoli wont make it into europe we might get a chance to get him! otherwise agger would be fine)
-A midfielder to replace clarence, no need to spend as gourcuff can return. I really hope he does.
-A striker. my preffered option is Giuseppe Rossi. we need to have more young italians in the team IMO. The kid is doing very very good at Villareal and is a Milan fan!! Imagine him together with Pato with kaka behind them :diablo:
And then we can fill in some open spots with for example Abate, Albertazzi, Di Gennaro... Depends on who's leaving.
(dida, Maldini, Favalli, Seedorf, Shevchenko should leave IMO.)
Some people want a tall target man ... let's buy Koller ? :D
Galliani, if you read that, it's a joke !!
watch what u are sayin` because he might be reading posts on this forum, and knowing him we will end up with koller, with galliani sayin`:he is a true champion the player we badly needed since oliver bierhoff!!!!!
The kind of summer mercato I'd like to happen, I put the names of "new players" (you will understand why "") and explain why:
Firstly, we know, normally, that Maldini, Favalli and Senderos will retire/leave for our defense. We also, for most of us here, hope that Emerson will leave, as well as Shevchenko (I don't care if he is just loaned or if we bought him, he has no place here). Then it's my personal hope: Inzaghi retiring (not leaving, he stops or he stays here one more year).
- De Silvestri, why another RB ? To put Zambrotta on the left, we would have Mattioni and De Silvestri as RBs, two young players (but De Silvestri already has experience of Serie A), one Italian, one Brazilian, it's Milan !! :D
- A young LB, I really don't know who anyway ... someone able to replace if needed Zambrotta during the next season and then to take his place in the following ones.
- Bonera ... :D, with a new RB and a new LB, Bonera can be used in CB position each time he plays, and not once RB, once CB, once RB, once CB, ... that lets us with Nesta, Thiago Silva, Bonera and Kaladze there.
- Jankulovski ... :D with Zambrotta on the left and a new LB, Jakulovski can be used in his role, that means in midfield.
- Gourcuff ... :D, I won't say anything, there is a topic about him.
- Borriello ... :D, that would be nice to have him in our team ... because in my head, he's not a Milan player yet as we almost never saw him on the pitch !! I had the same feeling with Ronaldo ...
- Paloschi or another promising striker, why not a star like Eto'o ? Because we know that the formation used is often played with one striker only. So if we bring back Gourcuff without selling Seedorf and Ronaldinho, that means we will still play with only one striker. If I stop there, that looks stupid like idea not to bring someone like Eto'o, but the other reason joined is that our leading star in attack is Pato now, so, we don't need to have 2 leading stars in attack if we only use one. That can only gives problems (ego, lack of fitness and so loss of confidence, etc for one of them).
So, we would only have to pay for:
- De Silvestri
- the young LB
- Paloschi
We can include and try to use more often the young guys (especially for our defense because with all these midfielders, I don't know how a midfielder from our Primavera could play if he's not already a W-C player).
watch what u are sayin` because he might be reading posts on this forum, and knowing him we will end up with koller, with galliani sayin`:he is a true champion the player we badly needed since oliver bierhoff!!!!!

good point i did`t thought about that, but worse than that our genuis of a coach could just put in kalac in ,as we need badly a tall man infront, yeah offensive goalie no one can stop him!!!!!and declaration from him would be:
me and the love of my life clarence seedorf, yesterday after awesome sex at millanello we were sitting in the shade and saw kalac kicking the ball with his head and then we came up eith the solution of all our goalscoring problems,we agreed to bech pato, and to put kalac in starting lineup!!!!

Signa who ever you want and leave the coach and you'll have a chaotic and unorganized team like he have now. A team that relies on individual plays, and rarely plays with complete and strict game plan.
Maybe some people have forgotten how Cappelo's and Sacchi's Milan played. And now they think this is good.
carlo`s sacking would be like winning scudetto for me!!

Not with this group of players, they can penetrate packed defence in our last scudetto-winning season when our core players all hungry and on peak.but since then their running capability ,with desire, are on decline.
Bacelona's front consists of bunch of swift ultra skill players between 1.70m,and they play together long time from same train system, the mode is hard to duplicate.
It's easier and less risk to add 1or2 power center than do large makeover to the whole system.since we have plenty of flank crosses right there, better make full use them.

rumours on goal.com say that Carlo -> Chelsea , Rjikaard -> Milan....only as I was realizing the dream I found out that it was taken from The Sun newspaper. But hey Rjikaard is hardly an upgrade, we need Hiddink!
Btw Carlo is not getting sacked this year, the earliest will be the summer unfortunately. We need to send Jack Bauer to torture Carlo to play 2 strikers. I bet Jack Bauer will have a hard time convincing Carlo to do it, but I think Jack could do it if he started to torture Seedorf infront of Carlo, that way Carlo couldn't say no.

If Carlo goes to Chelsea, do you think he will bring the trio of Seedorf, Kaladaze, and Ambrosini with him.
If yes, then I am all for Carlo leaving to Chelsea.
Let's just hope we don't get a Sheva (permanent)-for-Carlo swap...
Nothing will happen untill the summer. And Rijkaard is as "good" as Ancelotti...

With regards to Carlo and replacing him. While I'm all for it, I'm struggling who we can look to as a replacement.
From top level coaches, Hiddink looks most likely to go Chelsea should he leave Russia, Capello is unavailable, as is Lippi (both of whom were available when I wanted Carlo to leave originally) and as for our old boys, Rijkaard still doesn't convince me (though if both him and Ten Caat come then it could be a different story) and Van Basten isn't looking ready for a task like Milan (his Ajax isn't exactly great). The only option (from old players) I can think of is Donadoni, who I think is a good coach (despite Euro 2006), but I wonder whether he's capable of being the great manager we need.
The only other options I can think of are possibly Spalletti and Prandelli, though they seem unlikely too.
Luis Felipe Scolari
What's next? Christiano Ronaldo? :wow:

How about having Maldini being our coach, that would be pretty cool
Scolari is brasilian, and, in my oppinion, and extraordinary coach. Something went wrong in Chelsea, or he had some kind of problems inside the club, who knows. But you dont fire such coach in half of the season. Now Hiddink is taking over in Chelsea, an expected move by Abramovic.
Scolari would do well in Milan. Berlusconi asks for the football Scolari is playing, and Scolari will have 4-5 brasilians in Milan in any case.
I would say "yes" to him, but Milan will most likely go for italian coach or a former milan player: Rijkaard, Van Basten. Aldough Scolari is 3 times a coach they are.
besides the top 4-5..i would choose benitez..
i read an interview(it was one of the 2 liverpools owner) and he said that benitez was negotiating with 3 teams last year,so i think he is more available than the others..
of course NOT rajkard!!!imo he is excactly the same type with ancelloti with even less tactical knowledge..DISASTER
not scolari, please no, this year's chelsea is by far the worst of the last 4-5 years, even under ranieri and graant they were better..and i think its 99% his fault..i dont even think he did a good job with brasil, dont get me wrong i think wc2002 was a tottal fiasco..i liked him although with portugal..

IF RB is available, then RB should be the one Berlu should sign as he is great in in-game subs and good in developing players also.
How about having Maldini being our coach, that would be pretty cool
I quote you but it's not specific to you, it's just that I wanted to use the same kind of sentence than you:
How about stopping all these posts about what coach can replace Ancelotti (quite boring, we can only see one thing on the forum in different topics and it's "fire/sack Ancelotti") ?
There is no way Ancelotti will go in the next few weeks (we're not Chelsea, we don't fire our coach when we're in Top 4, and that would be very stupid to fire Ancelotti when we're third whereas we kept him when we finished fifth, let's be logical), and I don't think we'll change the coach next season ...
We don't need another coach, we need a power center.
Our whole summer mercato will be about keeping Kaka happy enough to stay.
Sheva, Emerson, Favalli, Dida and Maldini will leave for sure.
What else is almost certain of happening? Lets stop talking about Carlo, and focus on the squad.
I think we can all agree that we should buy a CF and LB.
Who?
Adebayor and zhirkov. if mattioni exhibit his quality potential,I can accept we move kalazhe to left and nursing marco rossi or albertazzi.

Not yet I think, and I don't know anything about him except he stand 1.88 m,quite attactive for a LB.I mentioned his name because there are not many names match milan quality occured to me on the market.

And if there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's never a sure thing as to who's leaving this club and who isn't.
The summer market won't make a difference with current manager, coz he hasn't the guts to stand up for the signings he wants. We'll end up with 2nd or 3rd choice options in August because we are cheap, and Galliani will have excuses book going into overdrive as there no tournaments to use as an excuse. Other than Silva, we'll sign players like Corradi, someone over 30, someone else over 30, a youth product who's good but won't play, and some foreigners that nobody else wants, and maybe a Mardid reject.

I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning. Rafa Benitez is a highly underrated coach by many people and is tactically brilliant. Let's not forget he's familiar with the Milan environment having studied under Sacchi who was his greatest influence. His high pressing game and well organised sides would be interesting at Milan. Plus he's not in charge of transfers at Milan (not his strongest area), so he'll be utilized to his strengths. With his contract negotiations and such it would be a reasonable idea to try and snare him away from Liverpool.
Carlo Ancelotti is a brilliant coach with football vision far greater than people think. He has formed a squad of super stars that has been very successful over the last years winning the CL twice, Lo Scudetto and Super Cups as well.
He is a patient man that believes in the quality of his players. Players that he is training every day which means he knows exactly how their form is. Something no one on this forum has the chance to do which makes it hard to say how and who should play for us.
It is not true to say that he has not asked Berlusconi for the right players. How do you know that? In Milan the management keeps such things secret for the purpose of not revealing things for the opponents in Italy and Europe. I remember reading several interviews on acmilan.com expressing his desire to strengthen his team.
If Carlo, Galliani and Berlusconi went out and said I want this and that player and we don't want that player it would be too easy for Inter and Juve to know our plans. Although sometimes it occurs that they reveal plans for the fans.
When you blame Ancelotti you blame a man that knows football miles better than each and every single of the members here due to his long career as a footballer and coach. He is a football genious and you ought to be more patient in the spirit of AC Milan.
He has made mistakes like we all do. But with the players at hand and the injuries and suspensions he faced he has made quite few mistakes.
Were you not happy in 2003 and 2007 when we won CL?! Were you not happy when we won Lo Scudetto in 2004?! It's not easy to win titles. And Ancelotti has done just that in his coaching career for Milan.
Who is to say that your scathing criticism of him is in line with the truth?? Have you ever considered that you could be wrong because Ancelotti as the coach with all the knowledge of his team knows a lot about our beloved Milan that you simply don't?
Yes. Ancelotti has made mistakes, but he has also giving all of us amazing times with beautiful football, beautiful titles. He is an honest and standup guy who is a football legend and he always will be and saying he should be sacked in the middle of a season is blatantly unpatient.
I hope from the middle of my soul that Ancelotti and Tasotti will stay at Milan and continue the success and stability of the side and win more trophies.
And who knows? Maybe you will take your hard criticism back next Spring if we win Lo Scudetto...

Not going to start an argument here but the yrs that you mentioned, Milan should have won alot more. NOt to mention the 3-0 CL final which ended with us losing. What bothers me about Carlo is that he is horrible at in game situation and not a creative enough coach to lead a championship team. Now I am not saying he should change his formation every game, but he must realise that when something is not working, it is time for a tuneup here and there. Take the most recent example of the Genoa and Regginna game.
In the Genoa game, instead of keep pressing, he began to push back which resulted in Genoa getting the goal. Then when you look at how Roma played, you will know the difference, mind you that Roma played without Totti.
As for the Regginna game, everyone in the world knew what Regginna will do and yet, Carlo still could not get the result. IF Carlo is a new manager or with a lot of new players, I would not blame him one bit for not knowing what to do, but thats not the case and it has been 7 years. 7 years that Milan still struggle against a 9 men defense.
I know people make mistakes but if you don't learn from them, you are useless, and frankly Carlo have 7 years to learn and yet he still fails.
I can't wait for him to leave but certainly not now as there is no proper replacements and not good for the club and players in general.
With what, another contract reworking?
And if there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's never a sure thing as to who's leaving this club and who isn't.
We please him by forging a competitive team that he believes can win everything. He keeps saying that we will always stay at Milan if they want him to stay and if they always maintain the same goals as him. We need to keep him happy. Maybe that new CB could be Digao?
I don't know if we really do need a new CB anyway. We will already have Nesta, Thiago, Bonera, Kaladze. Most likely Bonera and Thiago will be fit the most, and I wouldn't mind that partnership. We might need some cover for those emergency situations, but those players don't have to be bought, they're in the primavera side or already on loan or co-owned.
A new LB is crucial. Marek is terrible as a defender, but he's a huge asset going forward. We need to stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and finally put him where he belongs. Remember when Serginho flirted with LB? What's up with that? I know Zambro started as a winger, and now look at him; but Marek just isn't working for me. He's a liability as a LB.
We have a goal poacher. We have a lightning fast second striker. We have a skillful second striker. We have a strong all-around ball holding striker. We need a battering ram. Someone to spearhead a 433, like Adriano back in Parma. Throw him on against Reggina in a cold rainy night and get him to crash into every Beckham or Pirlo cross. Not someone for every situation, but strictly for those times when nothing else would work. Who could that person be? Luca Toni is the best, in my opinion, but Drogba and Adriano fit as well. Is there a younger, cheaper option i'm not seeing?
A new LB is crucial. Marek is terrible as a defender, but he's a huge asset going forward. We need to stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and finally put him where he belongs. Remember when Serginho flirted with LB? What's up with that? I know Zambro started as a winger, and now look at him; but Marek just isn't working for me. He's a liability as a LB.
I agree, and I would also say that Marek is good only in the transition phase of the play, due to huis great running capacity. But he almost completely lacks crossing ability and play on smaller spaces. To put it together: he is not a technical LB/LM.
Milan needs LB of supreme quality, as our 4-3-2-1 game hugely depends on fullbacks. We gained ALOT with Zambrotta, as most of us expected from this WC player. But we are not affective on the left side, specially when Ambrosini anmd Marek combine. For that you dont even need to defend as rthey can cross once in 20 attempts.
Sergio is a different story. He had a light foot and touch, and was twice as hast on his first step then Marek, and also had good or great cross. Specially on the first post. I would dare to say that Serginho was a player class above jankulovski.
And I never understood why we stopped using Kaladze as a LB as he is capable of playing some good defence in that place.
I'd go with Taiwio as you mentioned before Mrki. Awesome vs Bordeaux.
Taiwo plays well every 3-4 games ...
Replacing Jankulovski because he doesn't know how to defend by Taiwo is like replacing a chicken by a no-wings duck ... umh, quite stupid comparison :D
What I wanted to say is that Taiwo can't defend, he's maybe a bit better than Jankulovski at crossing (and I'm not sure about that because what Taiwo does the best is shooting in the ball in a way that if someone touches the ball with his head, he can die :D), but the problem with Jankulovski is especially the fact that he can't defend.
So the only improvement as a replacement of Jankulovski is a LB who knows how to defend, and the best improvement would be a LB who can defend and cross ...
Filipéz 182
11-02-2009, 10:51
we can also think about a RB. As Zambrotta is perfectly capable of playing LB.
Taiwo? I've never mentioned him... he is not needed in Milan at this point.
Scolari is a very good coach, but at European club level he's an unknown quantity for me. I'm not sure what went wrong when he was at Chelsea, and certainly he can do better, but at this point I think he'd be a big risk.

I'm not a big fan of Benitez after he moved to Liverpool. He was good at Valencia and played good passing attacking football but since he's come to Liverpool, he's been poor in my opinion. Liverpool used be an attack minded team under Houllier and produced many good strikers and attacking midfielders. That has dried up after Benitez. He's also guilty of playing negative football, exactly of the kind that we blame Carlo for. Though tactically he's good, it's often a drag to watch Liverpool who play defensive minded football with not losing a bigger objective than winning. His transfer record is also very poor.
But one thing very good about Benitez is that he tends to bring the best out of talented players. Like most of the Valencia squad in his time (they were never the same club after he left) and Gerrard and Carragher in his Pool stint.
Although I still have confidence in his abilities, I think he's too similar to Carlo and not the disciplinarian and motivator say Ferguson or Capello are.

Adebayor! not cheaper but younger, ready to play once in our uniform.not only a spearhead,he offers more in counter attacks and transition.very strong on the ball, can create space for midfield.very physical despite his mince stature and blessed with excetional endurance, press defence well.the only weak spot is his finish, not elite level but decent(goalsheet in epl last year is impressive).

Agree! make him leftback if we don't find quality replacement.bring lucio ,he will strengthen our much needed anti-air arsenal plus he mightbe a bargain for us.
Adebayor and Clichy if Arsenal don't make CL.
Did I imagine it, or did Carlo ever mention Clichy?
What's wrong with this?:
---------------Abbiati
Felipe----Thiago---Nesta---Zambrotta
-------------Pirlo------Flamini
Beckham
---------------------Gourcuff
------------Kaka
------------------Pato
^^ Felipe who? Mattioni? A little optimistic aren't we...considering the kid has only played one game for us.
I'd take Clichy in a heartbeat if he becomes available. After a couple training sessions with Zambrotta, Silva and Nesta he'll become less erratic in defense. He's made some shocking decisions at times but IMO still remains a great player with a lot of potential.
P.S. Although Beckham hasn't disappointed us thus far, I personally wouldn't include him in any long term plan for our team. If we could get someone similar to Iniesta for that position it would be more than perfect. What's Cigarini's status? Anyone know how he has performed since his injury? He did well in a box to box role for the U-21 whenever I saw him. Or if Cesc is available.......=)
We would also do well to reinvent Pirlo's position in the team and get him to do some more attacking in the final third. He's really selling himself (and the team) short by sticking in our own half and spraying long balls around the pitch. We saw how dangerous he can be around the box during the '06 WC. Here's a team I wouldn't mind for next season and I don't think we need many additions to do it. We might still need a CD depending on Nesta's condition. We also need someone to pick up the slack if Pato gets injured...is Borriello up to it? That's stuff we can evaluate at the end of this season I guess. Also if Pippo decides to pack up, we could bring Paloschi back in his place.
Abbiati; Zambrotta, Nesta, Silva, Clichy; Flamini/Gattuso; Pirlo, Cigarini; Ronaldinho/Gourcuff; Kaka, Pato
GK: Abbiati, ?, ?
LB: Clichy, Antonini
CB: Silva, Nesta, Bonera, Kaladze + mystery guy
RB: Zambrotta, Mattioni
MF: Pirlo, Cigarini, Flamini, Gattuso(C), Jankulovski, Ambrosini, Seedorf(once he's a sub)
AM: Kaka, Gourcuff, Ronaldinho
ST: Pato, Pippo(?)/Paloschi, Borriello
25 member squad...not bad I'd say and doesn't require too many purchases.
It is weird, but I'm satisfy with the current team ^^
Me too. Aiming for 4th place then playing in UEFA once in every 4 year as a change are good enough for me. After all, if polished well the TIM trophy can be just as shiny as the Big Ear, right?
The problems with that squad is that we need at least 4 players who've came from our youths to be regiestered in Europe.
Seedorf will never accept sub, so I'd sell him, with Kaladze, & Janku too.
I'd return Abate, Paloschi as mentioned, Di Gennaro, and promote Strasser & Albertazzi, who are still young enough to play in youth too.
I'd get Zapata & Taiwio for def. We really need players with a more physical prescence.
Personally I'd love to see Afellay wear our colours. We lack a box to box player imo.
And of course a WC box striker, with a broad range of skills as opposed to someone who stands waiting for midfielders to do all the work.

IMO there's no need to return Paloschi in the summer. His season at parma isnt the best and he still needs to learn there, he would have very limited playing time here.
But offcourse we need to buy a new striker. Again, Rossi is my favourite.
I don't think Paloschi is ready to be a sub for Pato. We should loan him out to a Serie A side next season and see where he gets.

Who?
Unfortunately, I don't think Dida and Sheva will leave. Favalli, Emerson, and Maldini are good bets.
Kaka' seems happy at Milan. I don't think it will be very hard to keep him until retirement. This whole Man City thing has been great in my opinion. In hindsight, I think this was a PR move for Berlu. He will keep Kaka' at all costs now.

Kaladze was unhappy at LB and wanted to play CD. Because of this, he almost went to Chelski a few years ago.
Ironically, (IMHO anyway) he played better at LB and we won that year, than with his error prone ways now at CD. Personally, I can't stand him playing CD. He plays like Dida (and that's certainly NOT a complement!)

we have Borriello! We dont really need a physical striker IMO, we played great football with sheva and pippo. Why not with Pato and rossi. both can create and are very good goalscorers.

we have Borriello!
Can that really be considered true with his season so far? ;) We desperately need a fit physical forward in the squad to really make progress. Pato's simply incredible, but at times (like Reggina) you need some extra physical presence up forward to dominate defensive teams.
I wouldn't mind Rossi personally. If he was in the squad instead of Sheva we'd be much stronger in the striking department.
^^ Sheva gets little to no playing time though...so unless we're going to permanently switch to a two-striker system Rossi will eventually start complaining about his lack of time.
With the number of midfielders we have, we're really stuck with a singe striker formation. Plus if Gourcuff comes, that's only going to get worse. I really can't see a two striker system any time in the near future.
I don't understand why some people here want to sell Janku, he is the breakthrough point in many games Milan play, he made a couple mistakes in defense but that's never his primary job. If it's Nesta in the middle his ass would have been covered and you'll never remember those misses.
The only time Carlo's Milan won the Scudetto was when in-form Pancaro and Cafu played regularly.
How is janku rated so highly for us in attack?? He only can cross one way, has a poor goal return, has very poor passing, and offers nothing in def. He's not the Serginho of old, or even close to him.

I thought Beckham was one of your favorite players? After all, he's wearing the red and black! :grinser:
I wouldn't mind seeing Beckham stay since he's playing well and contributing to the team, but not for the sort of money the Galaxy and MLS were wanting. The thing is, Beckham has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave at the end of the upcoming MLS season and there's nothing anyone can do to prevent it. So most likely Beckham will return to the San Siro next January on a permanent deal and it won't cost Milan anything. :swars:
I think there is a maximal bid line our management can accept for B32,maybe 8 million or a little higher in reference to his age and a getaway clause in his contract. If he is 5 years younger,I won't hesitate a second to cash out 16 million for his 5 games in red and black shirt thus far.
Macelo is develping into a top level LB,he is not a first 11 regular behind that argintina left CD.Anybody know his contract status? Do we have any chance get him from real?
Marcelo is under contract until the summer of 2012. I seriously doubt Real Madrid would let him go to Milan without getting something silly in return. They would probably be wanting Kaka again. :nunu:
I don't mind keeping Beckham, until we get an apropriate replacement.a younger one.a stronger one. :)

Valencia is in big economic crisis. Their president tried to take a banking loan of 100M euros to fix some big problems of the club but the bank didn't give it to him because the club is in big economic depth and they have no guarantees.
It is said Juve have made an offer for Silva for 30M and they are going to sell some top players to solve the big problems of the club.
Some of their stars.

Joke is an understatement. The guy is a complete liability. Today his mistakes made goal scoring chances for Inter. He has absolutely no technique what so ever and is always losing his man on crosses.

I have never seen Agger playing, but wonder why a player, who cannot get time in his team, is worthy at Milan, a supposedly much better team????
Very confused!
I have never seen Agger playing, but wonder why a player, who cannot get time in his team, is worthy at Milan, a supposedly much better team????
The level of the player isn't the only thing to take in consideration to understand ... some players can be amazing but can't be starters in their teams because of the choices of the coach (mainly in other "big teams", as there is competition and the coach has to choose, then, once he chose, especially in defense, and if the defensive pair is good, it's difficult then to get a starter spot).
An example: we are supposedly a better team than Chelsea ... Alex has/had some difficulties to have time: does that mean he isn't worthy at Milan ?

Forgot about Lucio, then we will sign Lucio and Alex for sure and in a few years sign Santacroce.
For once, I am not complaining about the loss as we really did not play well to win and Inter outplayed us from the start. SAY all you want about the handball goal....the truth is that our defense sucks, our midfield lacks mobility, our attk lacks power and we lacks a deep bench.
If Nesta, Gattuso and Kaka were playing, then it is a completely different game but they were not and we should really start finding excuses about why we can't win and just face the truth.
No defense=no title

No power in attk=no title

I actually had to read the date of that post 3 times to make sure I wasn't imagining....what are you smoking dude? what do u mean Alex (and Santacroce, Lucio) are coming for sure? do you know that we already have used one of our Non-EU spots in Thiago Silva? and we might use the other one on Hurtado (or is he italian?). That automatically rules out your theory.
And look at your formations, what are you thinking. Not only is it unrealistic but it is bad too. Do u know that both Seedorf and Pirlo are younger & better players than Beckham and have been in the team much longer? How could u have Beckham and Gorky ahead of those two. And then again you're discussin Lucio being in the team who is another Non-EU. And Viviano's signed a contact with Inter already I believe.
You want to change the team, but keep Janku. The guy sucks. He can't def, can only cross one way, and has abysimal passing. I'd sell him, along with not keeping Ponce Spice. 1st sale should be galliani & carlo. Sick of crap transfers, and poor team selection. The circus continues.

When I said HOPEFULLY, maybe I should have change to MY DREAM.
Anyhow, I thought Hurtado is gone and beside, he got Italian passport or EU passport.
Santacroce is just a dream.
As for Alex and Lucio, they are just the type of signings that we tend to go for lately, unwanted by their club or wishing to leave the current club, Brazilians and for Lucio-over 30.
As for the whole EU thing, well, Sheva and Viduz will be gone, and Kalac's contract is over, thats three EU spots. T. Silva getting one, which means there are two more spaces.
Did not know about the Viviano-Inter thing.
As for Beckham and Gourcuff over Seedorf and Pirlo, well, I think Seedorf is really not good enough to be in the starting 11 anymore and compare what he has been doing and what Gourcuff is doing, I doubt anyone beside Carlo would still pick Seedorf over Gourcuff. As for Pirlo and Beckham, I like Beckham more b/c he actually still runs for the team and he is hungry every game as he wants to play in 2010 WC(since he is not a fixture), Pirlo is great but he lacks the hungar that Beckham has now. Something that I notice these past months.
Piurlo can **** off untill he decides to train, work hard and EARN his place in a big club!
Im disgusted, not by the way he played ( players can play bad, ok), but by the way he behaves on the pitch! The man has no heart to play THE DERBY! I hate people without heart in real life, and not to mention a football player playing like he is half dead asking for fouls and playing aliby long passes so he doesnt have to run and switch places and actually play serious football. Disgusting. GO TO YOUTUBE AND LOOK AT PIRLO'S REACTION AFTER ROBNHO STOOL A BALL FROM HIM vs BRASIL AND SCORED. JUST LOOK AT THE WAY PIRLO REACTED and tell me is that NORMAL??? please people do that!! Im begging you.
FAvalli, Kaladze, $heva, Dida, Emerson, Seedorf, Carlo - **** off rom grande Milan and go play for Bolton!
Abbiatti-Zambrotta-Thiago-CB-LB-Flamini-Gattuso-Gourcuff-Dinho-Kaka'-Pato. Thar is a aerious team and with a serious coach. **** the fency passes etc. Play real football witrh strict plan, movement in which every player knows where he needs to run and how, a game in which players fight and press...
Buy 3 great players and bring a coach like Benitez, Wenger or just put Baresi and that is it. Cappello and Sacchi were not famous when they took on Milan.
Santacroce, Clichy and one forvard: Benzema or Drogba. Change fornations from 4-3-2-1 ro 4-3-1-2, depending or training, opponent, form etc. Bench Pirlo and start behaving professiojnall and stop making fools out of the supportert that pay to come to San siro!

Great speech mrki ;)
I know we don't need anyone in midfield, especially if Gourcuff comes back ... BUT, if Gourcuff doesn't come back, with Emerson leaving, and if Ambrosini for example leaves too (it's an example), I think we should take the chance of buying a physically strong midfielder, a guy who can be fast, who can dribble, who can defend, and furthermore, someone able to take a ball with his head !!
We were so bad in heading plays yesterday ... and it's like that since the beginning of the season. When we'll play again against Liverpool or this kind of teams next year, we're going to cry so much if we don't have an improvement in this area !!
My first choice would be Essien, but I don't think he will be available.
Anyway, I don't think that guys like Fabregas are a good solution right now.

Essien would be a dream, partly because Ancelotti would probably pick him. Flamini was supposed to add some physicality, but Ancelotti just hasnt given him the space to grow. The only others players in this mould that he would pick are too old. Im sure there arent many of us that want Viera now?? No I Galliani, I dont mean you!!:5horse:
Flamini isn't that physical, he is in the middle between a technical player and a physical one ... but what I'd like to have in the team is someone really strong physically. From Ambrosini to Flamini by passing by Emerson and others, we don't have anyone really strong physically, and I don't mention that for our defence and attack.
Our stronger physical player is Kaka' right now actually ... and that sounds like a joke to me !!

But since pirlo is the Mozart of football and is "irreplacible" ( I mean, who else can walk for two years, play 10 good games out of 60, and still be in Milan's first 11, its a world record and miracle! ), Seedorf is a "part of a family" and Ambrosini is just too good to be benched by some stupid player like Flamini ( last year one of the best Dm's in Europe!).... we dont actually need anyone but Beckham who CAN CROSS and maybe boriello so Carlo can finnally bench Pato so Becks has someone to cross to. And that is the plan for next year.
Also Panucci and maybe Vieri again.

Nesta's surgery may be a blessing in disguise. The glass man has been injured so much that we HAVE to dip in the market for another CB.
There are only two ways we can make investments: players end their careers (injury or retirement), or cover themselves in shame like Dida.
Dida actually did us a huge favour in Parkhead; he provided the model of completely wretched behaviour. Let's just hope Kaladze has a similar lapse in a game and is frozen out of the squad. That would mean two CBs.
The only defenders that should stay for next season are Bonera, Thiago Silva, Janku, Mattioni, Favalli (I don't know if he will retire, but he has been pretty good for us) and Zambrotta (amazing).
Again, we have to trim deadwood from the squad in general, so we should get rid of Dida, Kaladze, Maldini (retire), Nesta (always injured, time to quit football), Emerson, Seedorf (get good money for this lazy player), Shevchenko.
This would take lessen the wage bill considerably, especially considering how much Dida, Seedorf and Sheva make!
One more CB, and one more wingback.
Bring back Gourcuff, buy a striker like Vincenzo Iaquinta, and we are set.
Hopefully, this will be the team for next season, assuming Nesta cannot come back.

There's no way in hell that Inter is going to sell Adriano to Milan, even if they don't sign him to a contract extension (which it now appears they may). I think a big, strong, physical striker is something Milan needs, but more realistic possibilities would be Benzema, Adebayor (especially if Arsenal doesn't make the Champions League) or Drogba (although if Mourinho is still at Inter I would expect him to sign Drogba and keep him away from Milan).

Inter Chief Massimo Moratti: We Should Have Beat Milan 7-0
The chief is enjoying the moment as he brags about his team's win over Milan...
»Comments (30) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom Inter president Massimo Moratti believes the overall scoreline in the Milan derby didn't do his side's performance any justice as he insists the Nerazzurri should have won by several goals.
A controversial Adriano strike and a second from Dejan Stankovic saw the league leaders on their way before they suffered a late scare after Alexandre Pato pulled one back. Inter dominated the game and should have put the tie to sleep before half-time.
Despite Adriano's opener seemingly a handball offence, Moratti agrees his side would have won nevertheless.
"I am not sure about Adriano's goal, there could have been [a handball], but we had such a determination that I think we would have been triumphant in any case," Moratti told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
"In the past the derby ended 4-3 once, but I think the game on Sunday should have been 7-0 to us.
"We should have won by more, but the most important thing is that we took home a positive result, and we did this by showing strength and determination.
"We played a great game it was great to see."
The Emperor Strikes Back
Adriano seems to have shrugged off his abject form as he was outstanding in the derby. The chief believes showing the striker faith and discipline has paid off.
"Adriano? It was a gamble won by all. I think [coach Jose] Mourinho has done everything to bring him back to his best and I am happy about this," added the president.
Inter have stretched their lead over Milan to 10 points and they are nine ahead of second-placed Juventus.
Inter Chief Massimo Moratti: We Should Have Beat Milan 7-0
Typical Moratti co. They can't face the reality. :hammer:
Haha, why even bother Siregar. Moratti is blatantly stupid. By saying that they should've won 7-0 he indicates just one thing: he still couldn't get over that world's most famous tennis game that took place in San Siro in May 2001.
After all, once a Merda, forever a Merda, right?

Just two things on the game yesterday:
Pato is a huge player!!! If Kaka will return to his best and R80 also or Gorky will come back he will become even better.
Maldini played alone in D becuse of KK is sucks but he was great. Jest one mistake VS Adriano.

-------Flamini------

world class midfield. But we also need one Cb and one LB. And that is it.
You see, this midfield, for me, isn't enough ... you have no player able to play with his head there, so when you play against strong midfielders and tall ones, you're in trouble to take the ball ... of course, once you have it, it's better, also, when your opponent doesn't use aerials, you're good, but if they use aerials, good luck !!
Gattuso-Flamini is not what I call physical players ... they are players who run a lot, but they don't show physical power !!
Gennaro Gattuso doesnt show phisical power?
-------------------------------------------------
Im out of words now...
-----------------------------------------------------
In any case, phisical power in football is not being tall and heavy. Its playing like Gattuso can play, or Cambiasso, J.Zanetti, Cannavaro... Flamini can do that also.
Milan played its best football with THIS midfield:
------------Pirlo-----------
---Gattuso-----Seedorf------
--------Rui---Kaka'----
And heading, where was it back then? Its not about that, its about brains and pressing. Yoan, Rino and Flamini can head just well trust me.We are not in England in 80's to head a ball 1000 times per game.
We dont have strong defence, a trademark of AC Milan. We are not Barca, and that is why I support Milan and not Barca. I dont care if we score 5 goals when we conceede 5 and then bla,bla in the media...
Buy great player, that is it. 50% of theese players are not up to the task anymore. Or some never were.
--------------------------------------------
EDIT: latest:
Milan will reach an agreement for Beckham for the next two years. Beckham got beaten up by Muntari and didnt manage to pass SANTON a single time. He will be 34 now ( or is already??).
Berlusconi will make a lot ofmoney from him as he is no.1 player for marketing. But this is a joke. And we expect a young player like Gourcuff to come back now? And play - where?
You think Beckham will be on the bench in the next season ? where will Rino play, he plays on the right side?

Abbiatti-Zambrotta-Thiago-CB-LB-Flamini-Gattuso-Gourcuff-Dinho-Kaka'-Pato. Thar is a aerious team and with a serious coach. **** the fency passes etc.
Any team with Abbiati starting instead of a fresh, younger keeper, along with old man Zambrotta and the flop Gourcuff (big wow, he's lighting up the perennially weak French league), can't possibly be touted as serious.
And you can't really say "**** the fancy passes" when Dinho is included in this lineup.

for god sakes, just bring him in Milanello, if he has 19 years old, and plays in first team, and plays strongly for good team like palermo, that's enough... already he is better than kaladze, only that i wanted to hear is number 19, and first team in palermo, that's enough for me !!
Thanks for the information, mate.
no problem!!!anytime!!
but i agree with blond, he is young give him a go,and he is absolutely better than kaladze, kaladze looked good only beacue of Nesta, any player even myslef i think would look world class in defence(kidding of course hehe)but if he is not expencive bring him on instead of kala,an send kala back to dyinamo along with sheva so they can finish their cariers there!!!
and as i can see people here are for santacrocce i must say i am not that impressed with him he is good and young but i think he is a bit hyped, just look napoli roma game he was bad even gave away ball justa like pirlo did against brazil!!

I invite you to explain to us where Gattuso will play in Milan next year and where Beckham will play? My dear lord allmighty.
My argument is this: this is the third season we have lost scudetto in the middle of the season. If somone ( who could it be ? ) does not undertand the point and only has to say " I vote for Berlusconi as my dad says so." then I've got no more explanation to do.
Great coach, great players, everything is ok. Pirlo is not bad, Seedorf is not bad, Dinho is fit ( he did play well yesterday ) etc... We are all morons and need to write crap for goal.com and know **** about football...We lost 15 rounds before the end.
So maybe something is actually wrong is the beautifull city of dreams where fLame lives. Fortunately for us, your sarcasm is always ready for - nothing to say in the end. You could work for Galliani as a spokesman.
Hey maybe its Giancarlo's brother or something, uncle or dad, hahaha!
My argument is this: this is the third season we have lost scudetto in the middle of the season.
I'm sorry, but as said (in another way) on the other topic, stop speaking in the past please, I didn't see Inter's captain with the Serie A cup in his hands yet ... and as far as football is an unpredictable sport, they still can lose the championship !!
About Kjaer ... I'm not sure, ok to let a chance to young players, but we need a real replacement for Nesta as the bad news are coming back (he would be operated for his problem).
I don't think Thiago Silva has the same level as a fit Nesta, actually I don't think anyone has the same level as a fit Nesta in the world, but we should try to get a defender in Top 5 in the world, even if he is 30yo ... we need a leader as we're going to lose Maldini, our captain and current leader in defence, and probably Nesta (for me, we don't need the next Maldini, the next Maldini was Nesta who was at his top when he came here, and now we need the next Nesta, a guy at his top right now and who will make us proud to wear his shirt, as with Maldini of course and then Nesta ...).

He's currently Denmarks 3rd choice defender after Agger and Kroeldrup from Fiorentina, which is quite good for a 19 yearold in my opinion. Can't say i've seen him play much, but he sounds like a good talent, but he's probably to green to be a starter at Milan.
If Nesta doesn't recover, then we need a CB. We've been linked with Agger, and he's a top class defender, but i think that he might be to much like Thiago Silva, who i see as a Libero kinda defender. The kind of defender that anticipates the game well, and who's great at bringing the ball forward. That's all good, but he needs a destroyer next to him. A defender who's a monster in the air and who's a good tackler/marker, so we can take out arial threats.

Hi im new here and would like to get my thoughts out after yesterdays robbed derby....
For me it is obvious that Ancelotti has lost it for the past 4 yrs he has been afraid to attack inter until its to late this is going back to our 3-2 comeback victory its simple you can't play 1 striker v inter 2 strikers even with our shockin defence if pato had inzaghi next to him yesterday inter wouldn't have known what hit them could you imagine if ronaldinho had 2 targets to hit from the beginning?????? Yes the ref cost us to an extent but Ancelotti must be blamed how can you start a so obviously out of shape Kaladze???? dont you think someone like Senderos not that he is exceptional would have been able to deal with the physical game of Adriano??? after all he is a premiership defender....Well getting to the summer mercato there is 4 choices for us but they will $$$$ 1.Agger he is no nonsense but classy on the ball 2. lucio yes he is older than what we would like but he is that physical animal we need. 3. Mexes though he is not that power defender he is a nesta molded defender any complaints???? 4. Santacroce though he isn't in the best of form there is no denying he has what it takes I would hate for someone else to take a chance on him and leave us wishing if only.... can anybody remember chiellini needing that chance??? this is the same.
Moving to our other problem st for me there is 2 choices we must get the best we should have pushed for berbatov last yr...............
1. Benzema yes I know he is over priced but he is a unbelievable forward prob the only young forward with our pato that makes you think they really are special....
2. Adebayor looking at inter and juve this yr how many times have they played like crap and got away with it by a ibra or amauri goal or flick on this is what we need and he is capable of this... he will be our ibra also opening space for pato and kaka ;-) exciting
We are AC MILAN! The best team in the world. Or were! We have pride and tradition and honour.
We must win no matter what! It shouldn't matter to us that the referee is biased or that the opponents play with 9 defenders.
We need players to play with heart. We need some real passion.
Ancelotti simply has to go. He cannot inspire, he cannot plan a game anymore and he cant develop players at all. A coach must have at least one of these abilities. He has none. None.
The striker we need and can get is adebayor. We should have got berbatov. But now that we are here, we must get that physical 1st striker and a fit boriello. i still believe in boriello
And a new defender to replace nesta. It is foolish to expect him to come back and play at the same level for more than a game in 5-6. We cannot afford that.
cigarini for pirlo, gourcuff for seedorf, flamini for ambrosini. no beckham. no kaladze, dida, emerson, favalli, inzaghi, maldini, kalac.
we also have promising youth players for all the backup posts. abate, darmian, albertazzi, paloschi etc.
what's the word on filipe again?
no more buying backups or paying them heavy wages. we already have too many backups. time to buy world class!

And you can't really say "**** the fancy passes" when Dinho is included in this lineup.
Abbiati has been fine this season, he's made a number of good saves. Zambrotta has been one of the best fullbacks in Serie A this season too, despite being over 30. As for Gourcuff, he's performing brilliantly in France, has performed well in CL and has done things this season that simply cannot be ignored. It's no shock other big clubs are interested in getting him. His lack of success at Milan was clearly more to do with his maturity and mentality than to do with his ability.
All three players are capable of playing important parts in a serious title challenging side.
If Nesta doesn't recover, then we need a CB. We've been linked with Agger, and he's a top class defender, but i think that he might be to much like Thiago Silva, who i see as a Libero kinda defender. Who said Lucio, Alex, Puyol or Canavarro ? :D
There is a joke in the 4 ... I let you recognize him !!
The best would be an Italian defender ... but I don't think Chiellini will be available (he is already experienced), and even if Santacroce is, I don't see him as our leader, he's still too young actually (but I wouldn't care if we were to buy him anyway :D).

About Gourcuff, there are the first signs of a drop of form ... he didn't perform well for 3 games now. And as you maybe noticed, Bordeaux didn't perform well for 3-4 games ... he was also outplayed by Argentina.
But I think it's a normal thing when you play each game for your club (still qualified in every competition if I'm not wrong) and also each game from your NT, even friendlies whereas your coach asks to the NT coach to let you being rested but this last one puts you on the pitch for 90 minutes even when it's obvious the guy wasn't able to run anymore around the 75th ... :D
In Milan, we could keep him in his excellent form as he could (would lol) be rested sometimes ...
I invite you to explain to us where Gattuso will play in Milan next year and where Beckham will play? My dear lord allmighty.

All the crap is flowing because we lost, had we won, would there be place for posts like "where will Gattuso play next season"? Call the freaking ambulance...
And seriously, did anyone expect a win from us?! I don't mean "hope" or "believe" in win. I mean did anyone rationally came to a conclusion that we were in position to beat Inter in this derby?
I am gonna list 2 reasons why we lost and for this exact 2 reasons i didn't watch the game live (unlike all the other games this season).
reason #1 - we have only ONE option for a striker in this derby - PATO. In fact we have been having this option for half of the season. Did you expect we will break down Inter's physical defense with only Pato?
reason #2 - Maldini + Kaladze against fast and powerful Inter attack. I need not say more.
It's true we have been plagued with injuries. We could be faster trying to make up for those in the transfer marker, but unfortunately we weren't.
We have fixed many problems, like midfield, and goalie.
Anyway, if we play with yesterday's line up for the rest of the season - we are done for. Unless somebody makes a miraculous recovery (Borriello + Nesta) or our new signings turn into great starters (Mattioni + ?), the scudetto is Inter's.
Is he young?
Is he a defender?
Is he NOT Kaladze?
YES? TO ALL THREE?

Hahaha :coffee:
Well, at least Kaladze always try to do something even it's beyond his ability. :D
I am still confused why Carlo doesn't play him on left side. He is much older than a time when he played there but still he can use his experience to minimize the tiredness. Favalli can do good job there, Maldini too. Even Costacurta in his very old age was capable playing there.
What Kaladze can offer that Jankulovski can't are two big things :
1. Kala can defend well on the left side
2. Kala CAN cross!!! Something we missed (before Zambrotta and Beckham came).
Carlo can do this :
----Zambro---Bonera/Senderos---Maldini---Kaladze---
------Beckham----------Pirlo--------Jankulovski------
When the opponent is strong enough, just change Janku or Beckham with a DM.
fLame, I've already said somewhere, but Idont recall where exactly, that I expect euphorya if Milan wins the derby and that its stupid becouse we cant win scudetto either way. So dont patrch up imaginatory things to my name in here. I never was like that, like a child that cheers when you win and cries when you loose. So your comment is once again purely mean and doesnt say anything. What a surprise.
Yes, we have been plagued withi njuries, but the games we lost points inwere not about injuries.
So we couldnt play only with Pato, ok. We had Pippo, we could have played him. If you think Inter cant be won against with only Pato... we won the first derby with 4-3-2-1.
People know I adore Gattuso. And Im asking you again: Where will Beckham play and where willGattuso play next year considering the fact Beckham is here to play so he can play inthe WC? ANSWER MY QUESTION FOR ONCE please.
I have seen Gattuso playing even on the left, with Lippi few times. But with Grosso in great shape behind him, not Marek.
In my world of "self lies" I tell the truth. "self lying" is a state of mind in which people lie so they can make a world prettier then it is...
We lost scudetto for the 3rd year in a road without real fight. If you people think there are no responsible people in the club fot that thn really...
And if Kaladze is not ready to play, and not fit. Then play Senderos. Kaladze was jumping on Ibra like a child and not a serious player. I think this season we have seen the worst Kaladze of his life.
But nevermind it, nevermind the derby. We lost, it dosnt matter. We lost scudetto vs small teams. And that is fould of coach and players that dont give a **** coz they know their positions are untouchible: Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini ( played well in the derby, fighted hard)... and in the smaller games we loose the points coz we are irresponsible, not coz we lack some players etc.
EDIT:
to Geo Tav:
I dont know why Kala doest play LB. Its a mistery to me also. Kaladze said he doesnt prefer it...so maybe that is why. I dont know. But the fact is that he is twice of a bullback Marek is, and Marek is 100 times more usefull in smaller games as a Lm then Ambrosini.
We played our best football this year like this:
-----------Gattuso------------
--Flamini------Seedorf--------
Coz we had two serious players in the middle, and Seedorf was capable of playing with more freedom. But when "Mozart primadona" Pirlo takes control all of them can f.... themselves as he passes it around and walks like its a school friendly.
All the crap is flowing because we lost, had we won, would there be place for posts like "where will Gattuso play next season"? Call the freaking ambulance...
Anyway, if we play with yesterday's line up for the rest of the season - we are done for. Unless somebody makes a miraculous recovery (Borriello + Nesta) or our new signings turn into great starters (Mattioni + ?), the scudetto is Inter's.
If we had now Terry, Amauri and Dani Alves Inter would have won the scudetto coz they are ELEVEN points in front with 33 or somthing points to play for! Stop with the illusions.
My "crap" was flowing in here all season long, as I saw we were palying jazz-football, if you can understand what jazz is like so maybe create some kind of a connection in your head what would jazz-football be.
"call the freakin ambulance..."??? lol! what is this? NHL joke or somthing of that kind? Florida super humor?
I hope you people realise that with beckham in,the room gets smaller and smaller for gourcouf..and that makes me really sad,big teams should not loose this kind of players,i cannot imagine manchester barcelona real, and a lot more, loosing players like yoan because pirlo seedorf and beckhs have t be starters..its so sad and pathetic..
mrki i think you know the answer for your question,if carlo stays the med will be sth like this most of the games
becks--pirlo--rino
--------seedorf
--kaka
-----pato
it kills me..but its true..i think especcially you mrki know my opinion about pirlo, ambro(instead of flamini) and beckham starting..
the player that will be on the bench is dinho..i hope carlo goes to london, and then it will be a whole different story..
ps we're interested in mexes again..my favourite one..
ps2 flame could you once in this place be civilised, personally i dont even read your posts anymore, but you ve started annoing everyone in here..if you dont have the answers that are asking you then just dont post..you have to stop this immature behavour, its been a while now..

reason #2 - Maldini + Kaladze against fast and powerful Inter attack. I need not say more.
Such weaknesses you CAN COMPENSATE with proper tactical solutions. But for that we would need a good coach, unfortunately we don't have it. Let's be realistic, what can you say about coach whose team ALWAYS left Ibrahimovic alone on jump near our 16m!? Ibrahimovic, player that has brilliant first touch, technique and creativity!? And from such situations he always made our defence look even more ridiculous. I think we can all agree that Capello would win on sunday if he was Milan coach. So would Lippi. And Spalletti. What am I talking about, if we had for example Ballardini we would have a better result. Even with the scandalous refereeing.

I think it's normal for Gourcuff to be tiring, but also I never expected him to maintain such high level of performance for the whole season, no player is really able to do that.
If Carlo's in charge next season, I doubt we'll see Gourcuff at Milan anyway.
Yep, we actually agree about the fact that his drop of form is just a normal thing ... I posted about him just to rebound on your one, just to add something about Gourcuff ;)
For Mrki, I think you made a mistake, I didn't speak about Kaladze playing as a LB or CD in my recent posts ? It was someone different, I think (I'll check !! lol).
About the statements on the choices of Ancelotti, there are a lot of contradictories (understand the word ?) from some people here: when we play with 2DM+Pirlo, it's not good, and when Ancelotti puts 1DM+Pirlo (because I don't count Beckham as a DM), people ask for another DM ... explain me ? And don't tell me that it is because of the opponent, it's each time the same thing (2 DM+Pirlo = people complaining "why 2DM + Pirlo ?" and if 1DM+Pirlo = people complaining "we had to play with 2DM+Pirlo").

I don't think that the problem is with two DM or 1 DM (these days). The problem is why Flamini is getting almost no chance in Serie A? Why do Ambrosini and Beckham even Slowdorf always play although like Ambrosini and Slowdorf pretty often play badly (or have no clear impact to the team) or even terribly ? I think this is the real problem.
In addition, Flamini is not a pure DM like Ambrosini or Gattuso. He offers more skill and ability with respect to offensive things (passing, vision, playmaking ability etc.).

The problem I have with the whole situation is this. When we played 2 DM + Pirlo, the reasoning was that our defense was weak. Ok fine. Now our defense is no better, but we have Beckham and newcomer Flamini. Our best DM Gattuso is injured. The first logical move to me would be to replace Rino with Flamini, the next best Rino we have.
But wait! What does happen? Carlo shelves his original 2 DM formula and plays Beckham in Rino's old spot because if he had to play Flamini and Beckham then his favourite Pirlo or Seedorf might be relegated to the bench. All I'm asking for is some consistency from Carlo, not plain, obvious bias. It's like when one of our creative players were injured last season, the obvious choice would be to play Gourcuff...but no..the almighty Brocchi steps in.

Pessemistic but might be the way it is this sason! our CD department is the biggest blackhole so far since nesta break down.we are extremely vulnerable when facing team with lots of simple air balls for years.sendros was supposed to be the solution, but he seems bit out of league for milan quality.A new big CD excel in air is a emergency.
Carlo is becoming much more attacking-minded this season which is good sign IMO.he is a very conservative in last few years, when in big rivalry,he always field 3 CD and one true wingback. we played sunday's game very open which will leads to the overexposure of defence considering our current CDs obviously no match for Adriano and ibra.I think It's a good experience for him to absorb next year to find balance between offence and defence(he was too defensive obsessed)when facing deffrent opponents.
Someone suggest we should have better gameplan and press more well,I think the team coodinated and executed pretty well in our last 2 games. if you take bacelona as comparison, you are demanding too much for this bunch of players.carlo is doing great on exploiting fuel left in their tanks.we have to do complete reshuffle if you want baca's football which is a way too risky process especially we are still a tactically well organized team. our last 2 game is fun to watch except constant also occassinal concentration-drift in central defence.Among all european big clubs,I think only baca is ahead of us in this area at this moment.
With few addition of adequate players(strength on air ball in both box) and the back of injuries, we will be back.

Imagine our team without Pirlo and Seedorf, would that be a good thing or a bad thing.
Personally if it means allowing Gourcuff and Flamini to start, I am all for it.
Like I said before, I read a Chinese report, which they quote Italian newspaper, saying that Lucio is a huge possibly to be part of us this summer. Another person is Hernanes.
I think Lucio will do the job for us, but I would prefer Alex as he is younger. As for Hernanes, I thought we have someone like Gourcuff already.
Hernanes can sub Pirlo, but anyway we've got too many problems right now, and only 3 people are in charge of fixing them, but are incapable and stubborn. Berlu, Galliani, & Carlo. One won't spend the money, the other doesn't know how to spend money, and the other is can't manage.
We need MAJOR changes, but they won't happen.
Amazing how we're linked with the players we need in Feb, instead of Jan or during the Summer. Just to stop the fans rioting imo. The lies will be there again in the summer. Mark my words. Let's sign David average beckham. please don't tackle me, give me 10 yards to cross the ball, left foot, what's that? do u like my new haircut.
An incompetent circus run by idiots and ageists that people here are blackmailed into be lieving.
Case in point is Antonini. Better def, and att than Janku or Favalli, but is not experienced enough. He's 26 going on 27, not 16 going on 17. How much experience does he need? Wait till ur 30, and we might give u a game beside our backup keepers, our on loan def who can't def, our slow brazilian, and non tackling englishman, our offside italian, and of course our prodigal backstabbing son.
I presume the C in AC stands for circus.
I can safely say I have reason to believe this same squad of lazy twunts can perform far better than this with a coach like Mourinho or Ferguson.

finally,
some expert said that carlo is not good... now berlu, please listen to arrigo, please, and kick carlo in the nuts
I think, Sacchi critisized both Carlo and Galliani co. We all know, the most possible one to be changed is Ancelotti. But Galliani co. should also hear such critics from a master tactician. Our team this season have no clarity. We brougt strange players with respect of the Milan's need. And I doubt this condition (our squad) will change next season (except Milan get very bad result in Serie A).
Agger-Milan appears again! I hope Milan will finally get Agger after so many news in January about Milan's interest in Agger.
So does the rumour linking Milan with Eto'o. I really admire his quality since he played for Mallorca years ago, but didn't he refuse to move to Milan last year? I remember reading somewhere that Galliani publicly showed Milan's interest in him, but he just didn't want to move to Milan. If so, then why would this rumour float again? Did he change his mind or could this be just another BS from the media?
What I know is that Eto'o costed much more money than Ronaldinho. That's why Milan turned their target to Ronaldinho. CMIIW.
Agger+Eto'o will be great (plus of course with some decent players injection).
Agger, Eto'o and Hernanes, all appear in milannnews.it
Eto'o, Adebayor, Hernanes all are non-EU, right? Or does Adebayor have french pass and Eto'o spanish one?
Edit :
I read somewhere that there is an idea to change Pirlo with Ronaldinho (yes, R80 plays as deep playmaker). What do you think guys?

I must say the rumours of Eto'o and Agger are very promising. It gives the impression we want to head in the right direction.
Agger's a very good defender who could be very useful for us and Eto'o has been incredible this season at Barca. Him, Kaka and Pato would be a scary attack to face. He has pace, power and a great striking sense and while isn't necessarily the big forward we need, he does provide a good alternative to what we have. My only worry is I'm still not fully convinced with Borriello being our option of the target man coming off the bench, but it may be difficult to find another player of greater quality accepting the bench.

Yea, Ronaldinho could eventually play that role, he's one of the best passers in the game, but he'd need to change his attitude a bit. Pirlo might not work as much as Gattuso, but he still helps out defending, and if Ronaldinho were to play that role he'd need to defend more.
But that being said, why'd we want to change Pirlo ?? He keeps performing every week, and besides from the Italy game i can't remember him having a bad game. He haven't been doing as many killer balls lately, but he still keeps the tempo and keeps the play flowing. Also he seems to have grown defensively in Gattuso's absence.
Eto'o is one of the best strikers today, and it seems he's not to happy with how he was treated at Barca last summer. I just can't understand why we seem so keen on Adabayor though. That guy misses so many chances it's unbelievable, he's decent i'll give him that, but he'd demand an insane amount of money, and be way more expensive than what he's worth.
Sacchi slates AC Milan: There's so many problems
18.02.09 | tribalfootball.com
Arrigo Sacchi has taken a swipe at his former club, AC Milan.
Reflecting on their derby defeat to Inter, Sacchi snapped: "At Milan I have many friends, but I believe that the coaching at the Rossonera has proven to be incomplete and unfinished.
"The squad is not a perfect mix, it has too many duplicates, it is not balanced and this is not tactically good.
"They have so many problems that can be resolved only when the club targets their technical faults."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sacchi is a brilliant coach...there you go. I just posted the whole thing so people dont have to open the link.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"too many duplicates" means the squad is not built with balance and that now we need to recunstruct with carefull planning.
Eto'o doesnt have a place to play in Milan. Where will he play? We have Ronaldinho and Kaka', there is room for just one more forward that will constantly play. Nor Eto'o or Pato can be substitutes, its stupid to b3ench such players.
Eto' has scored 100 and something goals in 120 something games for Barca. He is in perfect shape and why would Barcelona sell him?
Flamini, Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Emerson - duplicates.
Seedorf, Ronaldinho - duplicates.
Sacchi is saying Milan needs reconstruction from tactical aspect, not just buying some players. Starting with new coach and if Galliani is no longer able to work at highest level then new GM and new associates.
We are now destined to play 4-3-2-1 with Dinho and Kaka' here. And its not a problem, we have played some great football with 4-3-2-1, but the mix was better. Maldini+Cafu at flanks/FB's, fresh Seedorf as classical MC with powers that Iniesta has now in Barca. Pirlo with greater movements + Rui and KAka',which is different then Kaka'+Dinho.
Milan needs different TIPES of palyers, not just new players.
Those different tipes are players like: Gourcuff for CM, Aquilani, Montolivo - central midfielders with attacking caracteristics. Not Hernanes, not Cigarini ( if Pirlo is about to stay ).
Milan needs TWO great fullbacks if you are to play with one CF. We have one right now, Zambrotta.
And most of all, we need one more CB to pair with Thiago and a coach that will make a team play high defence with pressing and not deep defending.
SAcchi is right, and finnaly someone said a normal thing. But this thing goes directly on Galliani and Ancelotti, and Berlusconi should listen to Sacchi. For the past 4 years Galliani has made few good transfers, but not more: Flamini, Zambrotta, cheep bonera was a good move, Gila with the help of Berlusconi is the end...Antonini was a good move tough we was our plaer already.
Pato, Kaka', Thiago, Mattioni ( if good ) are Leonardo's players.
Emerson, Ronaldo, Vieri, Amoroso, Oliveira, selling Vogel for Oliveira, selling Sheva and not replacing him, buying Ronaldinho but not predicting the mix of the squad, Senderos, keeping Dida for 4mln a year, keeping Carlo so long who destroied Oddo's, Gila's and Yoan's confidence, not replacing Nesta properly...loaning and then buying Boriello with financial minus, $HEVA back and taking non-eu spot for Thiago... I think that is enough. PUTTING CLAUSE ON YOAN!
Change it and start working properly, with game in front of the money.
To conclude: hire a new coach, ask him what he needs and get him that. And not like with Carlo who didnt get what he wanted, and worked wrongly what he had/has. And staying quiet all the time so Galliani can work his money around.
Coach says: I need those tipes of players, Galliani buys them. If the coach fails, he gets fired. Professional behaviour.
EDIT:
And for those who say Gourcuff "only" plays well in French league which is not strong I will say this:
Zidane came to Juve, Ribery-Bayern, Malouda-Chalsea, Abidal-Barca, Diarra-Madrid, Nasri-Arsenal, Guly-Barcelona, Trezeguet from Monaco to Juve, Mexes from Auxerre to serie a Roma as a central defender - do you need more proofs how French league does not show players quality. If some need I can continue...
This post would make sense in another universe, on another planet.
Last sentence is the ultimate childish utopia...
Also, we all know who Silvio Berlusconi is. There is no coach in the world( or GM for that matter) who will tell Silvio what will he do in his own club. He wanted all those transfers that Mrki was so kind to point out for us.
Mrki, sorry but you just waste space and time calling for a new coach, new system, new players... They will be tossed aside when Silvio had enough playing with them.
P.S. How can you put pirlo in that group and say they are duplicates?!? He's the exact opposite of the rest of them.

Read what Galiani said about Milan and Inter trying to sign Agger.Very funny.
"Inter know how to win a derby using their hands, so they will get Agger too because hands are necessary to sign contracts"
Link: http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?action=read&idsel=31769
fLame, I've already said somewhere, but Idont recall where exactly, that I expect euphorya if Milan wins the derby and that its stupid becouse we cant win scudetto either way. So dont patrch up imaginatory things to my name in here. I never was like that, like a child that cheers when you win and cries when you loose. So your comment is once again purely mean and doesnt say anything. What a surprise.
you might have got away with the hypocrisy, if you were at least consistent in it.
because for example you are consistent in bashing our poor coach.
however, you are not consistent with evaluating "useless" Becks "who doesn't help the attack". You are not consistent in evaluating Pato, who at the beginning of the season "was a ruined talent, just like Gourcuff, by the source of all evil - Ancelotti"... (i know, I know, the boy must be so good that he overcame our coach's incompetence)...
erm... see no point in continuing...
Yes, we have been plagued withi njuries, but the games we lost points inwere not about injuries.
So we couldnt play only with Pato, ok. We had Pippo, we could have played him. If you think Inter cant be won against with only Pato... we won the first derby with 4-3-2-1.
we had 2 Patos - Pato + Kaka... or 2 Kakas ... whichever way you want to put this
People know I adore Gattuso. And Im asking you again: Where will Beckham play and where willGattuso play next year considering the fact Beckham is here to play so he can play inthe WC? ANSWER MY QUESTION FOR ONCE please.
you know, the truth is i don't have the answer to your question. Best coaches of the world struggle predicting what will be a week from now, but you really surpass them with your professional football knowedge.
Many times the MM community embraced your spot on predictions.
p.s. we won't have a Gattuso vs Beckham problem. don't ask how i know.
In my world of "self lies" I tell the truth. "self lying" is a state of mind in which people lie so they can make a world prettier then it is...
lol
If we had now Terry, Amauri and Dani Alves Inter would have won the scudetto coz they are ELEVEN points in front with 33 or somthing points to play for!
Don't thinks so, those all star teams never seem to work.
Florida super humor?
lol... what? ... erm, guys, can anyone tell me what the heck is going on? :p1510:
if anyone actually bothered to read what Sacchi said,
he was more attacking the way we handle transfer market,
than the way Ancelotti manages the team
Lots of Milan rumors floating around out there today for some reason. Agger. Eto'o. And here's my favorite of all:
Italian giants linked with shock £20million move for key Manchester United star
11:30 AM 18 February, 2009
Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic is a reported target for AC Milan.
Despite signing Thiago Silva and Felipe Mattioni, the Italian giants remain eager to bolster their back four in time for the 2009/10 campaign.
And according to reports on IlCalciomercato.it, the Rossoneri are lining up a stunning bid for 27-year-old Old Trafford ace Vidic.
The Serbian international has been a rock in the United defender since his move to England in January 2006, with some labelling him the best in Europe.
It is hugely unlikely that Sir Alex Ferguson would entertain any bids at all for Vidic, but Milan, according to reports, will test this with a £20million bid.

Just a question.
If Vidic is a great defender why ManUtd to sell him?
ManUtd is one of the top 3 richest clubs on earth. So why to sell him even with 30M? I think we have no chance of signing him.
Lets see whats up in our league.
I never said PAto was ruined, but that Pato is on his was to be ruined if he doesnt play. As he didnt play regulary. Once he started playing he showed why Laonardo said after signing PAto that this boy will win golden ball in 4-5 years. Before he even started playing for Milan. And also coz I knew what Pato can do as I've seen him playing for Internacional as a 16 year old boy. Yes, coach cant destroy PAto, all he needs to do is let him play. Same goes to KAka', Ronaldinho etc.
fLame, I will not waste any more space in here as you say. no point. Everything is ok, we are fine. Lost the scudetto 3rd year in a row as a 2nd class team. But its all good as you say.
My "childish dreams" of a serious relationship between coach and his players are too much to ask for some to realise.
I put Pirlo and the rest of DM's as the same players coz of the way they play ( or do not play ) in the final thirt of the field. Nevermind. Go kiss Silvio's ass.
And that "what???" about Jazz-football...well its not my fault you dont understand it. I cant educate you in here.
"someone call an ambulance..." saying this "joke" in a public place makes you look like a joke, i advise you not do use it in everyday life. Maybe it can be used in american teenage "comedy" series or somthing...I dont know , on MTV or some moronic "american idol" show.
Nevermind, im anding the discussion. We are fine as we are. Results show it.
I d be more than happy if we could bring clishy and mexes, and yoan back..its not that difficult..
forget vidic mission-impossible..
i cant understand why all this noise about agger,he is not that good people..mexes and santacrocce are far better, especially mexes imo..

in our clash with roma, pato showed how funny and slow is mexes...
EDIT:

If some need I can continue...
Mrki, I hope you are joking ... ?!
Zidane: ok
Ribéry: ok (but Germany isn't a much better championship than France)
Malouda: lol, it's one of the best ... flops (he is a joke)
Abidal: he hasn't the level in Barcelona and the club is probably going to sell him next year
Diarra: do you speak about Mahamadou Diarra or Lassana Diarra ? I think you speak about the second one, as you only quoted French players, but Diarra spent more years in England in his short career (he's still young) than in France ...
Nasri: average for moment
Giuly: average in Barcelona (and it's not because he scored against us the year they won the CL that he was perfect, himself he says he could have done a lot better there)
Trezeguet: Nothing to say
Mexes: idem
But, each player is different, aren't they ?
I'm not trying to be against the fact of Gourcuff coming back in Milan (we have about the same point of view I think by reading the Gourcuff topic), but this argument isn't valid ... because this way, each Brazilian player can play well in Milan, look at Cafu, Kaka', Pato, Serginho, Dida in his good years, ...
in our clash with roma, pato showed how funny and slow is mexes...
Pato is faster than almost any defender, the only thing that mexes could do was to foul him,but again he was the last player so he couldnt..its typical of people accusing defenders in such situations, but it was more tactical mistake..but ok you may think mexes is funny,it makes no differnence to me,and to mexe's quality..as long as mexes was out roma's defence was awful and they were at the bottom of the table..
there s a greek rime that says:"that much you know, that much you say" dude..
To add something, Mexes, if I remember, didn't have a fast partner in defense ...
In a virtual next season, if Mexes was to join us, that would give Mexes-Thiago Silva, Thiago Silva is fast, so a mistake from Mexes could be cleared by Thiago Silva. It's an example. Anyway, there are defenders I prefer to Mexes ...
